Writing a story that revolves around teen heroes growing up and having to exist in an adult world with problems that can't be solved by punching is really funny because every single character can be placed into one of the following two groups:

Cyberpunk Marsh. To be more incognito, I thought he'd wear a thick sweater and pair of aviators to hide spikes, plus grow out his hair to hide the tattoos (and spikes from the rear). Not seen easily because of the colors, but he's graying as he coasts along in his 50s because I think silver fox Marsh is what everyone deserves.

Tangent: ever since I saw Ben McSweeney's official portrait I can't not see Marsh as fucking yoked.

Another Cosmere Inktober sketch finished. Ignore the fact it's now April and my last one was December and the sketch was done in October. Just look at my take on Cyberpunk Mistborn Hoid.

Day 23 Pitch

It'd been a moment since I've drawn. I had an idea and carried it out to get back into the swing of things. So of course I decided to draw a shitpost of everyone's second favorite mass murdering flying white boy as a quick doodle.

But wait! There's more! Due to circumstances (corrupt files (bad scheduling)) my Cosmere Bang piece was greatly delayed.

Jorik and Sage, the protagonists of Sandweaver's (doesn't have a tumblr) original Mistborn story, Tremredare. Set six hundred years before The Final Empire was overthrown, we follow a pair of Mistborn siblings. After their estranged father is killed, the caravan crew that Jorik Cornedrus runs is in danger once they arrive in the city of Tremredare. If they wish to survive, they'll have to fight together and use the full force of their powers.

Woe, inked Kaladin be upon ye. With... like a lot of halftones. I'm finishing up the inktober sketches here and there. Probably will be interspersed the next couple months at the longest when I can't draw other things. Won't nearly be as spammy as the end of October.

I've been sitting on this piece since the anime started. I have lineart of it somewhere that I need to fix and finish, so here's the WIP Sketch of Laios Dungeon Meshi. Just posting something while I work on other shit.

I made a totally original Stormlight Archive OC, Brace. He's totally from here and not doing any spying. Just a normal messenger boy working for House Kholin. Like Felt! More below like design notes and lore.

In Brace's little personal narrative, he has a steady arc of moving further and further away from home. From the Roughs, to Elendel, to eventually Roshar. After a heart to heart with his childhood "bestfriend," he ultimately moves to become less of a fucking mess and promises to return home only when he's "better." After kicking around Elendel for a couple years on the coin of nobility, he is recruited by the Ghostbloods--as a minor bastard scion, steel compounder and talented survivalist--preying on his desire for a greater cause and his love of his home.

So here he is on Roshar circa end of Oathbringer through Wind and Truth, not really as aggressive in his machinations as his contemporaries, but still wanting to keep a close eye on this apocalyptic war. The little Cultivationspren on his arm is Maize. I thought it'd be cool to have a confidante for him without making him a capital R Radiant. After he accidentally killed her original Radiant (aluminum is dangerous) when he was caught assisting Singers, he promised to find her a new Knight and protect them with his life, coming to a begrudging agreement between them. Unfortunately, turns out Maize is a huge ass bitch and every recommendation Brace gives to her is shot down because they're not important enough to make meaningful difference in this world. Meanwhile Brace is confused because as far as he was informed, Edgedancers are all about the little guy. May or may not be an Enemies to Radiants arrangement.

I've been sitting on this drawing since December wanting to add more doodles to it, but given the fact it's been nearly a year since, I'm just going to post as is and any future additions to this will be their own posts.

Currently working on a project with an overarching retro black and white art direction. Piece of concept art, so to speak, to hash out A) 1 bit pixel art (genuinely my first try) and B) the visual design of the protagonist. Her name is Gnat. Will likely change her hair.

Cosmere Inktober Day 6 — Illuminate

If you didn't pick up the description of the OCtober side of the posts, I'm doing mostly sketches as my catch-up. Wasn't able to consistently ink them—a betrayal to Inktober. Maybe "Quality over Quantity" is your preferred MO with art, but on my main blog I wrote out a full explanation of how beneficial Quantity can be in regards to art. TL;DR focusing on it helps train you to Get Shit Done and not be caught up in perfectionism, and that's just as large a part of Inktober than the ink itself imo. Anyways, have Shallan and the rest of the Three.
