Heard a little rumor about Adobe. Now's as good a time as any to share with everyone the apps I draw/paint in. 😉
Infinite Painter (Android) - This is my default. I did exclusively traditional mediums for a long, long time, and this app feels the most like using the "real thing". It has vectors, filters, and a robust editing menu. It autosaves. New files open with a menu of commonly used dimensions/dpis so you don't have to memorize them. It has an extensive online manual that teaches you how to use everything. It can export to just about anything - it'll even save all your layers as transparent PNGs if you don't see the filetype you need. (Cons: the larger your canvas, the more likely it is to glitch, and the fewer layers it can comfortably support.) It's cheap, and a one-time purchase.
Medibang Paint Pro (Android/Mac/PC) - This is where I make comics. It has built in tools for manga: frames, fonts, screentones. It autosaves temporary backups. It has online storage so you can bounce back and forth between editing on your tablet or your computer, and group access for multi-person projects. It has a basic online tutorial, regular user-written tutorial articles, an active online community, and sponsored contests with cash prizes. (Cons: It doesn't have a basic rotate tool, or many editing/filter options.) It's cheap, and while I did a one-time purchase, I think they've either switched to or offer an optional subscription model.
That's... about it, really. For me everything else is pencil and paper. Or epoxy putty and model paint... Once or twice a year I break out the watercolors. I dabbled in Clip Studio Paint, but the menus are way too tiny on my small tablet. I recently downloaded IbisPaint (Android/Apple), but I haven't tried it out yet.

[OLD ART]
I think the year that Sony Sketch officially shut down it's interactive & online services was around 2015-2016? The app had its own cool mascot. So I drew myself and the Sketch Mascot as a memorable piece 😭🌻🌈 ✏️
I miss all the cool and fun people I met there,....the artworks I got to see and admire,... everything about it's online services. RIP to my favorite drawing app 💔

Hi! What software do you use for drawing and videos?
Thanks for the ask! Everything on my blog has been drawn using Procreate, save for this comic, which was made in Clip Studio.
Please don’t cast yourself into the heckfire of CapCut. I’ve been looking into alternatives, but it’s a struggle to shake myself free from its dastardly clutches. Don’t do it. Not even once.

What mobile apps can help you make graphic art in a short amount of time? ( I'm still trying to get better at my fox art.) 🦊
Hi!!
To be honest, what app you use doesn’t really impact art improvement or skill, it all comes with practice and also in general studying what you are trying to draw, with either references or tutorials.
But that isn’t really fulfilling the question, so I will just do down the list of recommendations I have for making digital art!!
Sketchbook is a great app to start off on, it’s free and gives you a good set of tools and brushes to use for your art.
From there, if you feel digital art is working for your art process I recommend going to procreate, it unfortunately isn’t free, and costed me about 3€ (of course this price isn’t accurate to all currencies), the price may have also gone up over time, I bought it a while ago when procreate wasn’t as huge yet, so apologies if I’m misinforming about the price. It gives you a huge variable of brushes and new possibilities for your art, it also includes resources for animating, which work well in my experience.
If procreate is working out just fine and you feel like you want to also try some new programs or apps, you can branch out to some apps like Clip Studio Paint, Ibis Paint or even Fire alpaca (and ofc many more). And then in the future if you want to take digital art really seriously, you could get new devices to draw on, like a fancy art tablet.
Ultimately I feel that good art can be made on ANY platform or devise, finding what works out for you is your journey and your choice to make, however what I recommend the most is that you go for the cheaper options before the expensive ones.
Anyways, hope this helps!! Have a good day/evening!!

What is Cara ?
What is Sketchers United? ( SU )
Well my dears I'm gonna tell ya!
Both Cara and Sketchers United prioritize artist growth, community interaction, and a supportive environment. These apps provide creative professionals and hobbyists with the resources to connect, showcase, and collaborate. Whether you’re an illustrator, painter, or photographer, these platforms offer a space to thrive and find your tribe.
( both can be used on browser/IOS/Android)
The original Sony Sketch doesn't exist anymore, but if you didn't delete off your device you can still use it ( definitely on android, I still use it to this day just with some glitches)
Now let's get into how they are different, and they are outstandingly different.
Cara - Artists focused Community aka " Artists Twitter "
Cara is a platform built with the idea of creating an inclusive community for artists. It focuses on fostering genuine connections through art. Here’s what sets it apart:
Community-Centered,Portfolio Showcasing, Open to Multiple Disciplines, Inclusive Spaces,
Sketchers United -
" Sketch 2.0 "
Sketchers United, on the other hand, is an app designed by and for digital illustrators and sketch artists. It emerged as a community hub following the shutdown of popular apps like “Sketch Club” and “Sketch.” Here’s it's features:
Creative Freedom, Interactive Community, Challenges and Contests, Built by Artists for Artists
( this is a old photo of what it looked like )
The good thing about SU too , is that is as a built in drawing system inside it , so for some that want a somewhat good drawing platform that you can post & draw all in the same app than this is the app for you.

Genuinely so pissed. Just lost an hour of work because my I-Pad crashed Procreate and deleted two of my fucking lineart layers. I don’t know if I should buy a new drawing tablet or learn how to use a new drawing app or both? I do NOT have the patience to deal with Apple products anymore, my fucking Apple Pencil already doesn’t work most of the time, so I’ve been debating a new tablet anyways, but I don’t want to spend unnecessary money if there’s an easy fix or something.

Dumb question i want a second drawing app. I’m currently using procreate. Thats my main, im used to it. I want a second app to draw or doodle on when i have another project as a wip that i don’t want to get to distracted from it. The current two that im stuck between are clip studio and ibis paint. I have had prior experience with ibis paint which is why im leaning more towards there (And there are amazing brushes that are free), the thing is i’ve heard amazing things about clip studios which is why i can’t decide. Help pls?
