Citizen Promaster 1000m Professional Diver Watch Review
The Citizen Promaster 1000m professional diver watch showcased the world's first solar-powered 1,000-meter dive watch in Baselworld. As you may know, the Citizen bn7020 17e 1000M high-end diver watch means business. This tool watch is a practical watch tailored to fulfil its purpose as a diving watch.
Tumblr media
About Dive Watches
Dive watches are trendy because you can trust they will not be easily dented, scratched, or broken. Dive watches are built to withstand these conditions, making them perfect for professional divers and adventurers.
Citizen Promaster 1000M Professional Diver Review
The first thing that catches your eye when you first see this Citizen watch is the case. This 52.5mm x 21.4mm case is built with Citizen's "Super Titanium" alliance for scratch resistance, lightweight, and durability.
The bezel is coated with Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC), and the sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating. The bezel has a 'saw blade' design, so it can be rotated easily, even when wearing thick diving gloves. This unidirectional bezel features an elapsed time display and lock.
The locking mechanism prevents the bezel from accidentally bumping and affecting the accuracy of the elapsed time display. You may see an orange strip when the lock is unlocked. This visual indication tells you exactly when the bezel is locked in place. A similar orange strip can be seen when the screw-down crown is loosened.
Functions
This dive watch has a date display at 3 o'clock and a power reserve indicator at 9 o'clock. The power reserve indicator lets divers dive worry-free because they know precisely how long the watch runs without lights. The Citizen Promaster 1000M Professional Diver watch also has a helium release valve at 10 o'clock on the side of the case.
This helium release valve releases helium gas that enters the watch during deep diving, preventing damage or rupture of the movement. As you may have noticed, the hour markers are pretty significant.
The added lumens and increased size make the time easy to read, even in less-than-ideal conditions. The outline of the minute hand is bright orange, making it easy to distinguish between the hour and minute hands.
Tumblr media
Citizen bn7020 17e Movement
As for the movement, this dive watch has a solar-powered movement with an accuracy of +/- 15 seconds per month. This Eco-Drive One movement can convert any light (natural or artificial) into energy, which is stored in a power cell.
Because the watch can store energy, the watch will continue to work even if kept in the dark (at least six months). The best thing about solar watches is that you don't have to worry about replacing batteries.
ISO compliant
If you're looking for a tested dive watch, you'll be happy to know that the Citizen Promaster 1000M Professional Diver is ISO-compliant.
Weight
The Citizen Promaster 1000M Professional Diver watch can be a bit heavy, but it's stylish in a way that's industrial and mechanical can. A watch with an adventurer motif makes you feel as if you are discovering the world.
Date display: at 3 o'clock
Movement: Quartz
Function Power reserve indicator: ISO-compliant diver
Band: Black polyurethane strap, buckle
Case Size:  52 mm x 22 mm
Accuracy of ±15 seconds per month / Eco-Drive / About 1.5 years of driving when fully charged
Unidirectional: Bezel/Bezel Lock/
Power reserve indicator: × 10/1000m waterproof (saturated diving)
Luminous: (hands, indexes, bezel at midnight)
Waterproof: 1000M/100 for swimming, water sports, scuba diving

FAQs
What is ISO compliant, and what are its Requirements?
ISO watch is a certified diving watch tested to ensure it is resistant to saltwater and reliable even underwater. ISO 6425 certification also performs tests for resistance to magnetism, impact resistance, external force resistance, and thermal shock resistance.
Finally, there is a test to see if the watch continues to work after spending 15 days in a pressurized chamber. This chamber contains a mixture of helium and oxygen (or 100% helium gas) and returns to atmospheric pressure within 3 minutes after high-speed decompression.
If the watch passes these stringent requirements, it may display a depth rating after the word "diver." In this case, the Citizen Promaster Diver is marked "Professional Diver's 1000m" on the side of the case.
ISO Certification Requirements:
The watch must be equipped with a device that allows the user to preselect a time of up to 60 minutes. This can be a rotating bezel or a digital display.
Timing devices must be protected against accidental manipulation.
The bezel should have a scale showing 60 minutes, with an indicator showing every 5 minutes.
The markings on the dial must be visible and in harmony with the markings on the preselection device.
The time should be visible, and the minute hand should be easily distinguishable from the hour hand.
The time set on the preselector must be precise as an indication that time is passing (this requirement is usually met by a glowing hand and an hour mark).
A battery-operated watch must have a visible low-battery indicator.
Conclusion-Citizen professional divers watch
This watch is the ideal watch for divers. It has all the features you could want from a dive watch and is ISO-compliant. This is the most oversized watch I've ever seen, but thanks to the rug-free case, it's easier to wear and less bulky.
This Citizen professional dive watch is a statement watch that focuses attention on the wrist and encourages conversation.

The lobotomy of Gears, Megatron's most heinous crime and the tyranny of the majority: an unnecessarily socio-historical perspective of a Transformers episode
As I was watching Changing Gears, the 7th episode of the second season of The Transformers I was not expecting to be sucked into a black hole that took me to 20th century psychiatry, democracy criticism and minorities rights. And well, I just needed to put this out there, if nothing else to show how media can affect us in different ways, this was my personal Transformers journey of the day.
The episode revolves around Megatron's plan to remove the personality modulator of the Autobot Gears and use it in his evil sun draining machine, the details are not important, what matters is that Gears personality is fundamentally changed without the engine stolen, and his uptight and irritated personality, turned from this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To that:
Tumblr media
I don't think it's a long shot to understand this change of behavior as something very similar to the effects of the lobotomy treatment that was popular in 20th century psychiatry. This type of brain surgery is defined by the severance of the connections between the frontal lobe and the rest of the brain. "Often, the procedure made people quiet and docile, which they interpreted as a sign of success" - according to MNT. Which is exactly what happens to Gears without his personality modulator.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a Sylvia Plath dialogue with a lobotomized patient from her 1950s novel The Bell Jar. And Gears "perpetual marble calm". This excerpt came to my mind because that book along with a couple of movies made me (almost irrationally) scared of these kind of procedures when I was younger. By being underage (back then), depressed and gay I thought I was a perfect victim for invasive, radical ways of making me "normal". Times changed of course, but back then disabled people, the LGBTQ+, women and others with a "strange behavior" were the main targets for lobotomy.
When Ironhide sees Gears transformation from irritable runt to docile servant he is appalled, disgusted...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LOL
How dare Megatron turn Gears into that? Removing the agency and liberty of an individual while keeping them alive, Megatron was way out of line, right? However... by the end of the whole conflict, a complex moral twist takes place among the good guys, the Autobots, when Trailbreaker admits:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here, Trailbreaker position is reminiscent of that of husbands who would approve of the docile behavior of their wives after the lobotomy surgery. Particularly in a time where women were expected to be calm, cooperative and attentive to domestic affairs. Also I hate the fact that Bumblebee calls that calm behavior "photovoltaic pussycat" because that sounds cool, but in that case it's terrible, stop trying to make debilitating procedures cool Bumblebee! This interaction quickly took me to some dark places, a place where your loved ones can choose how you should behave, a place where you have no choice but to conform to a social expectation, making others lives easier while turning you into a limited being. Maybe not the place where the writers of this kid's tv show wanted to take their audience, I'm aware, but regardless, that's where I ended up, for a while.
They vote and decide to keep Gears without his personality modulator, and Prime agrees:
Tumblr media
With this sentence Optimus perfectly synthesizes the concept of majoritarianism in the way of perpetrating the tyranny of the majority. "If the majority rules, what is to stop it from expropriating the minority, or from tyrannizing it in other ways by enforcing the majority's religion, language, or culture on the minority?" (Oxford Dictionary). In that case, Gears had his rights to keep his behavior and personality removed from him by a democratic rule. That reminds us that democracy as a political system is not without its flaws. If the majority agrees on it, does that make it immediately a right or good decision?
Luckily Gears interferes, with a threat that sounds both violent and vague at the same time, a nice touch of writing for a kid's show:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Never change Gears, nothing wrong with a little threat of violence to guarantee your rights to be your own person.
After his threat the Autobots listen to Gears, respect his wishes and Prime just gives his personality modulator back, after that they all laugh!
Tumblr media
And honestly... I think they're happier with Gears just the way he always were, grumpy and irritated, but his true self, look at their smiling faces!
At the end of the day this episode's moral is probably: Hey kids, if they're not evil, accept your loved ones for who they are. Let's keep lobotomy procedures in the past and learn to respect our differences based on our deeply flawed history. At least, that's my, admittedly, very specific take on it...
I know this episode took me places and reminded me of old fears and thoughts I didn't have for a while, but it felt good to organize and share these ideas. Thanks for reading it.

To those of you wondering (aka no one), I finished both The Vampire Armand and Merrick and I have a lot of thoughts and feels. I'm skipping Blood and Gold for now to go directly to Blackwood Farm (I'll read B&G later), but first I'm going to read something else, just to take a break.
TVA thoughts: man, Armand is messed up. And extremely compelling. But so messed up. As always, the theme of faith crisis, which seriously reaches new heights with these bitchy vampires, is not something I can fully immerse myself in, but it was fascinating to see his numerous metamorphosis. I liked how he bridges Western and Eastern Christianisme, especially through art. Now I'm thinking that if Rolin Jones makes him originally Muslim in the show, that could expand even more the conversation on how faith, and especially Abrahamic faith, has been in conversation for thousands of years and could be such a rich, diverse and spiritual, intellectual and artistic theme. I can already imagine some fascinating discussions comparing (not in a superior way but in a complementary way) coming from Muslim faith to Roman Catholic faith, the way book!Armand talks about the richness of his life in Kiev Rus despite the poverty and ascetism, and the richness of his life in Venecia despite the luxury and abundance.
As for Benamin and Sybille... I don't have much thoughts about them. Sybille is one of those female characters AR seemingly favors, not so much human as a nymph or a dryad, "perfectly splendid". And Benji is a caricature of an Arab child. Nuance? 401 not found.
Merrick thoughts: David for the love if everything, shut. The. Fuck. Up. Holy moly. I like David, I do, but damn the entire recollection of his history with Merrick was looooooong. I'm here to see Louis haunted by Claudia and haunting Lestat's coma, not how hard you're pining for the kid you practically raised! Also. ALSO. You're just going to leave that whole thing with the Olmec or possibly another more ancient Mesoamerican civilisation without ever giving us more? That was the most interesting part of it all! The vodoo history, the connection between Louisiana and Caribbean vodoo and old Native South-American religions! More about this, less about Merrick's perfect breasts, I am begging you. (It is at this point that the reader of this post realises OP is 100% definitely ace and more interested in books and witchcraft than breasts and whether a 70yo man can still get it up - also, hey, Anne Rice's vampires are practically asexual and their lust and pleasure is mostly derivated from blood, with some notable exceptions like Armand and Marius, and a love relationship between two vampires is then based on romantic love and blood sharing, so can I hear a hell yeah for some ace representation or are we still conflating eroticism with sex)
Another thing I kept thinking about throughout the book is how Louis is perceived by his fellow vampires. Since basically the second book, since we've lost his own POV, everybody who's ever said anything about him (so Lestat, Armand and David) have insisted on two points: how very weak and meek Louis is, and also how irresistible, beautiful and charming. Granted, I've known Louis first through his portrayal on the show (hi Jacob you're so fiiiiiiine), and then through his own narration in the first book, but I've never had the impression that he was weak. Beautiful and seductive, yes. Weak? I see a human man going through tragedies and still enduring, going through vampiric transformation and then suffering for decades the loss of his humanity, struggling with reconciliating both sides of himself, but mostly I see a vampire who rebuilt himself after losing everything without sacrificing his sense of self. I see Louis as very strong actually (up to the point where resilience breaks, because resilience cannot be sustained on a long term, but that's another debate). He knows who he is, and don't you know how hard that is? He doesn't cling to faith or pride. He knows he's doomed, he knows he's monstrous, he knows there's nothing he can do to change that, and instead of railing against his fate, he goes on about his undead life. He gets his books and he reads them, he surrounds himself with literature and what little comforts he thinks in his shattered self-esteem he deserves (his ragged sweaters and soft trousers); let's not lie to ourselves tho, Louis doesn't like himself, or more exactly he doesn't care about his corporeal body - what matters to him is his mind, and once again, this author is extremely ace and also very aro and very nonbinary, so Louis to me is very much ace and agender coded, though really not aro, because his love for Lestat (and sometimes his fondness, shall we say, for Armand) is the only thing that can rouse him up from his literary slumber.
...
Oh, man, I have a lot to say about Louis, for how little he appears in the books so far. Still have BF, BC and the PL trilogy to devour. So I guess you can say, for as much as Lestat is occupying my entire brain, very much like him, my favorite is Louis? Yeah, that tracks. Melancholy, quiet, dark-haired green-eyed monster with more humanity than humans, preferring his solitude and the company of books to anyone else, hopelessly and helplessly devoted to one person, expert in brooding and grieving, literature specialist, not very attached to his physical self. Yeah. I'm not surprised.

Considering aura is a thing, it'd probably be a lot harder to catch a batterer since the victim's wounds would heal and leave no evidence
#rwde#watching kennie jds review of worst ex ever and getting abso fucking lutely heated#even w overwhelming amts of evidence and testimony cops will forever punish the victim rather than the abuser#how hard in remnant would it be to actually figure out someone you love was being abused wo the bruises or hospital visits?#(depending on how much aura can actually heal wo needing a boost.#(bruises might only happen after aura saves the victim from deaths front door which is a terrifying thought)#how much harder would it be to get actual justice for the victim wo the most obvious unambiguous evidence?#i doubt theres any justice in remnant#every authority we see is either corrupt. a clown. or a corrupt clown#and given how demonized negative emotions are in rwby the victims would feel compelled to hide their true feelings#even more than they are irl bc of the grimm#so any emotional or behavioral indicators would be so small and subtle theres v little chance of anyone picking them up#or even if they are noticed theyll probs be excused as 'oh its a bad day' or 'they didnt sleep well'#bc those things are plausible and far more common than domestic violence#rwby really couldve dived into this abuse angle and explored what it means to be trapped in that situation by so many circumstances#but noooooooo just lean on the incel dialogue and let the rabids swallow and regurgitate the plot#not even the minimum effort but still getting your dick sucked by people who worship mediocrity: the rooster teeth method

no offence to people who genuinely enjoyed james somerton and feel cheated but you could kind of tell he didnt give a shit about anything he ever said. there was no passion or personable anecdotes in anything he ever made, and the fact he was constantly posting videos was crazy. like if you watch your more popular video essayists theyre always coming from a point of 1) education in a field 2) passion in a subject and 3) being open about themselves
like , this man hopped on the video essay train because of the popularity of his peers and just tokened himself into "the gay video essayist" as if so many other people werent already doing that? and the lack of care for intersectionality was obvious. i stopped ever watching him after he took it personally that some marvel show was about black exploitation in america and not about two men kissing each other, cuz it became abundantly clear that was the only experience he gave a shit about (his own)

I no longer trust anyone's "dIsTUrBinG MoVIeS" recommendations. Come on, man, I want to be kept up at night.
#movie bro rant incoming/// just let me be annoying for a sec#not to be an edgelord but every single movie that i've been told is too disturbing to watch has just been oversold.#and then you have the other people who just recommend splatterpunk misogyny (lucifer valentine movies)#or comically over-the-top shockers like a serbian film. these movies are not psychologically disturbing. they're just shockers.#give me something that actually made your skin crawl NOT because of the violence/rape/misogyny but because it got into your head.#anyway i watched 'the coffee table' going in completely blind and i LOVED it.#but all the letterboxd reviews need to calm dowwwnn. saying it's a deep-dive into psychological torture and it's absolutely disgusting.#or that the director is sick in the head and that the movie is almost impossible to finish.#y'all........... it's a black comedy....... it's not that crazy.... and it's not that ingenious... i did give it 5 stars though.#partner thinks we're de-sensitized. idk if i believe in that term#but i did start to think it when we watched salo and i didn't even blink / when i laughed because i was having fun dfghgfdsfg#same thing with martyrs. there was a single moment in martyrs when i felt gross and that was when when they showed the torture photos#because i think one of them was real. looked a bit like lingchi.#one day instead of bitching i'll actually make a list of movies that effectively disturbed me or stayed with me for years#but most of those movies were just dark movies that i watched too young. hence they stuck with me.#like the watchmen is on that list because my brain was just a liiiittle too young for the little girl murder in rorschach's part.#anyway.#recommend me some movies that disturbed the shit out of you and i promise i won't be mean or an edgelord#also there's nothing wrong with me i've just always really enjoyed dark shit and scaring myself.

before I sleep, here is my definitive ranking on all the NPMD songs and some rambles on why I placed them there - also the ranking is based on how much I vibe with them (music production and lyricism have different rankings)
1. Hatchet Town (aka the hatchetfield trilogy theme song like this tune perfectly encapsulates the chaos Hatchetfield has to go through with every Starkid project pos-2018 and I love it - kinda wish it was a number that is more integrated with the plot with the kids tho BUT I REALLY DID LIKE that this melody was quite prominent in the other songs too)
2. High School is Killing Me (I've watched many teen centered musicals and believe me when I say that this song is one of, if not, the best introduction numbers out there for this genre - also it's a really great opening hook for a show)
3. Nerdy Prudes Must Die (FUCKING AMAZING HONESTLY - amazing way to REALLY re-establish a villain back from the dead and to establish the main theme for the nerds here: "I'm Not A Loser" (tho i fucking wish that motif was used a bit more))
4. Just For Once (everyone cheer for Lauren Lopez flexing not just her high tier soprano skills, but also how amazing of a fucking actor she can be like the concept of this song is quite layered and to pull it off both comedically and emphatically takes great lyrical and acting prowess)
5. The Summoning (a well-anticipated onstage introduction to all 5 of the LiB that balances out befuddling neon-entertainment with genuine fucking menace)
7. Cool As I Think I Am Reprise (A FUCKING GENIUS REPRISE I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH HOW COOL I FIND THEM RECONTEXTUALIZING THE OG SONG AND IF I LOVED YOU TO FIT THE SITUATION AND BOTH OF THE CHARACTERS GROWTH. LIKE IN TERMS OF THEMATIC IMPLICATIONS WITH CHARQCTER DEVELOPMENT, THIS SONG AND ITS SCENE WOULD BE THE TOP)
6. If I Loved You (I think this song could be a bit more honestly like I know how much Starkid has explored Steph and Pete's relationship in their other projects and I was really hoping that they would have it more portrayed here - however the song is a bop nonetheless and it matches neatly with their themes and the harmonies are top tier. I placed this higher than the next just due to my personal bias like I really do like the song)
8. Dirty Dudes Must Die (A GREAT TWIST THAT MAKES ME WANT ANOTHER MUSICAL ABOUT GRACE CHASITY'S DERANGED SELF - also the new context of the song Grace is reprising here makes her a villain even scarier than MAX of all people but that's just me)
9. Literal Monster (A very catchy beat and well structured song that provides a good introduction to a jock-bully with the god complex. also kinda foreshadowing to nerdy prudes must die)
10. Cool As I Think I Am (the instrumentation reminded me of Dear Evan Hansen ngl fjsjd but it really does sound like an I-Want song from a teen-musical which is of course what they are going for - it sounds very nice and earnest though and I loved how it was utilised in the reprise. However I still fucking wish that the I'm Not A Loser motif was used more)
11. Dirty Girl (look I'm sorry for ranking this quite low on the list but like there is no fucking way I'm using this as bait to lure other people in like they'd be scared away I'm sorry fjdjs BUT I love how Will and Angela perform this though like top tier starkid performances ever - its not just what I would listen to on repeat personally jgjdjs)
12. Go Go Nighthawks! (This one gets plus points because of FUCK YOU CLIVESDALE GO GET FUCKED. otherwise its nice and cheery and perfectly shows how happy everyone is without Max but um I kinda wish it could be a bit more especially in terms of showing how happy the other nerds are now that Max is gone but that's just me)
13. Bully The Bully + Bury The Bully (Look I couldn't decide which was better like they both are the same melodies so like gjxjs these two are cute though and I liked seeing the 5 kids bonding in Bully The Bully since we don't get that many scenes with them)
14. The Best Of You (the pop-punk happy number is a staple of teen-centered musicals and it does really sound nice - just isn't that much of a standout compared to the others.)

I feel like calling something "Generic X" is a right you simply do not have until you have seen at least 4 works in its respective genre, like, "Ugh, it just goes through all the usual motions" YEAH AND HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHAT THOSE ARE!?
