"exu: calamity should be done by the studio that animated arcane" okay, sure, easy pull. EYE think that downfall can only be properly handled by cartoon saloon. no one else knows how to capture space and break the bounds of dimensionality and perspective like they do. no other animation studio can do the interplay of horrific modern dystopia vs. ancient magics long suppressed. no one else could correctly pull off a sequences that's just Shapes and Light. no one else can be trusted to deploy a tactical symbolic halo. imagine panning out to see all of aeor from a raven's eye or ten-thousand rats', a city flattened into mere brutalist squares against the sky. imagine the artwork becoming something more abstract, more stylized, like an illuminated manuscript or papercut art laid over the background world as mortality fades and the gods take over.
#critical role#cr downfall#i have a lot of thoughts about the respective styles required by the different cr arcs for the record#the mighty nein should be a sprawling nine season anime with inventive color direction and a willingness to get silly#exu: crownkeepers would do best as a soft clay-y 3d animation that apes the style of older dnd art#the same way star wars rebels imitates ralph mcquarrie#one season silly start seious end a sort of orange and purple sunset color palette easy add some green for scary scenes#bells hells is the world's first four season stop motion series laika style#but with lots of puppetry to take the burden off fight scenes and long distance shots#egregious overuse of subtle wood grain texturing on the character models#it gets a little more henson-y when they hit the moon

does anyone want to recommend me.. like.. a Rock song mayhaps. or any song
#i'll describe the situation. so i have been stumbling upon and listening to bands that make music so generic modern rock i didn't even#know god could make them#you know? stuff like. forgive me not all of these are super similar or equally as monotone or uninspired but my brain groups them together#the messenger birds. sick joy. himalayas. fuckinn uh badflower. royal blood. and others. again sorry this is not fully a value judgment#i like that 2021 record from royal blood it's very danceable. i like two highly suspect albums#but. i loathe these energies i loathe them and you know what these bands share? well white men of course#point is i've been trying to move in a different direction but on god i CAN'T tell what i want to listen to. blood red shoes has been fun#& good to me. but there's a monotony to them too i feel. i don't know. i want to feel what i felt when i started listening to cleopatrick..#so just tell me please what has been hitting for you because i'm looking for something. where is music that's good fr#kata.txt

Another day of trying to have a normal one and being thrust back into grief because I looked in my phone's image folder
It's like a landmine except I can't bring myself to remove any images or videos
When does the hurting end
I miss my fucking cat. She wasn't even mine. I can't undo it. I can't bring her back.
#i had the horrible realization that the last video recording i have of her wasnt on the day that she went missing/got hit#so my brain is trying to lie to me and tell me i was the one that hit her or that i should have been able to save her but its not true#she was hit by a car three houses down from me in the direction i dont drive to go to work#and she was hit after i had already left for work#no one was home#no one could have known or stopped it#there was nothing to be done and yet my brain is so fucking mean#rambling#the guilt in my heart is immense

#mypost#record of ragnarok#buddha#shiva#ror#they are both hindi related deities#so it'd be interesting complex to see knowing ROR twists things A BUNCH in mythology canon from simply influence#honestly I think Shiva and Buddha would be pretty chill if not too direct with each other and it wouldn't be until their interest hits#and eventually collides would they go out their way to actually bother too deeply converse#if you can call it that what Buddha's definition of a conversation is with a god he doesn't have a high opinion of#shiva will very very well argue with him or find a reason too I personally find him to be an overwhelming sort#attempt to quote on quote argue at least if Buddha even lets him get that far in at all#i think they would both not even off handedly acknowledge the fact they both had to work hard and earn their godly spots to walk in heaven#and both be willing to die for their beliefs and standing is as far as their respect for one another would fly#in retrospect if seems like they would simply tolerate the other's inconvenient presence#my art#bored atm while drawing

getting new FF14 story content so soon after I caught up to dragonflight is a kick in the gut at how much better at storytelling CBU3 is compared to blizzard lol
Gonna get a better comparison when I do the DF epilogue and the gilneas reclamation later or tomorrow lol
#and they have a much better voice director I think#a lot of dragonflight was actually#reminiscent of ff14's 2.0 with long drawn out words and tone#although the non elf/dragon VA direction is actually pretty good#genn is always pretty good#jaina and thrall and anduin#but god they did tyrande and the dragon ladies dirty#whoever was like 'can you draw your words out even longer that would be great' needs to be hit with a wrapping paper tube#IT was almost like they slowed the voices down by 20-30% after recording#that actually makes more sense#maybe they were like 'we don't want to redo the lip syncing so just slow it down'#but why only tyrande and alex and ysera in particular then? also merithra but it was more obvious with the other three#the incarnates were really good though#like fyrakk sounded like fucking starscream#in a good way#really fit him lmao

Holy topic change batman
How did we even get here
#reading a poem from class and am just in shock at a change of topic here and the language used#like i dont have cultural knowledge/connection/whatever of the word used so it itself isnt like sensitive for me in any way nd i dont know#how much it is that in spanish (bc im reading the poem in soanish and translating the words i dont know into english to understand better)#but the FREAKING TOPIC CHANGE here has left me so shocked#like im sorry but how do we go from talking abt how this homie is like the special voice of the city and connection to nature in an#industial world only to then go (direct translation) “and the faggots#they dreamed of you“ like bro WHEN DID THEY GET HERE#anyways i picked this poem bc it was a little queer from the skim i did i can admit that but obviously i missed the bulk of it because i did#not see that line coming at all or the total topic change here#like again i picked up it was a little gay on the skim bc its by a gay poet abt a gay poet. and bro is described using words like beautiful#handsome etc. a few times#but looking through and skimming the rest is just them talking about gay ppl the whole time. how did i miss this. like yeah this was#likely written in the 1920s uses older language (not to mention in my 2nd language) but wow okay#going thru and translating and that just hit me by surprise horribly#I THOUGHT WE WERE TALKING ABT INDUSTRY AND NATURE#okay i think ive recovered from the shock there i need to finish actually 7nderstanding this so i can write the paper i put off so ling#also 10 points and like a shitty doodle of choice if anyone knows the poem here.#i have an awful track record of following through on these promises but like interested to see if its semi obvious

you know, i STILL struggle to put into words my feelings on Lovejoy’s music. one of these days tho ill get it
#idk.. i like the direction they’re moving in (a heavier rock sound)#but for some reason their songs always leave me feeling like they had the potential to hit MUCH harder#like the just miss the mark for me#i think it partially has to do with the audio mixing.#the instrumentals are great but once the vocals come in it feels like everything is flattened#and the sound lacks any depth#it never feels like it’s loud enough#also i just am not huge on wilbur’s vocals in these songs SORRY#i think he can make it work it’s just not working for me Right Now#idk they need to add in some reverb or echo#and also. their music sounds too Perfected.#again personal preference thing but if you’re going for the indie grunge rock style you’ve gotta go all in#i want it to sound just a little bit like shit. a little bit like it was recorded in someone’s garage

So hows it going 😀
TMAGP 7 is a WILD ride
#First we're already starting off with the end of tmagp 6 with Celia Ripley being the new hire#(And having the same voice actress as a extremely side tma character who started calling herself Celia post-change)#Then you get fucking hit with#“I mean it's an old system but it could have been worse. It's not like we're wrestling with tape recorders and manila folders.”#AND CELIA ASKING IF THERE'S A WAY TO SEARCH FOR SPECIFIC THINGS. LIKE BEING BURIED ALIVE OR MEAT.#I.E. THE BURIED AND THE FLESH#I'm much more inclined to believe that the Celia's memories are seeping into each other than bit characters full on universe hopping#(Oh yeah The Magnus Protocol is set in a world that's parallel to The Magnus Archives; not technically a direct sequel)#[But like they are chronologically. I think.]#Anyway CELIA KNOWS WHAT THE FUCK IS UP#And you'd think things might calm down with today's incident report; it's just Chester (“ai”/“automated voice” also voiced by Jonathan Sims#[who voices character Jonathan Sims. Creative genius we know.]#with another internet-based statement#(HE'S TRAPPED IN THE FUCKING WEB)#Except know it's about a charity shop ON HILLTOP ROAD#For context: EVERY ELDRITCH ENTITY AND THEIR MOTHER FUCK AROUND WITH HILLTOP ROAD#PRIMARILY THE AFOREMENTIONED WEB#WHICH HARBORED THE MESSIAH OF THE CULT OF THE LIGHTLESS FLAME#AND THE CHARITY SHOP *BURNED DOWN* BY THE END OF THE INCIDENT REPORT#We then cut to the other new hire Sam going to talk to Colin the IT guy#Colin's definitely going to be the first to die he's in DEEP in trying to understand the mess of of system that is the OIAR#And he's been adamant against Alice giving the computers any sense of a personality#And what does Sam go to ask Colin? WHO JON IS#BECUASE HE GOT A NONSENSICAL EMAIL FROM A RANDOM USER WHO CALLED HIMSELF JON BUT IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS AN INTERNAL EMAIL#Obviously Colin's to steeped in paranoia to react well to anything; but what is he hung up on?#That Sam brought his phone into the IT room; and that “it” has probably recorded too much already *!!!!!!!*#Oh and also their boss was like contracted to kill a guy but she failed and Gwen is using a video of it to blackmail her#tmagp spoilers

'hazbin hotel is such a great queer show!' haha right except it's sister show set in the same universe & made by the same person, has the main character blatantly call someone a r*tard as a way to insult them soooooooooooooo......hard pass
#but fuck disabled people amirite /s#hazbin hotel#helluva boss#tw ableist language#tw r slur#for the record the only way I know this is bc I was forced into watching hazbin + other show by my best friend#in case my best friend sees this do not trip I'm not mad or anything#I'm mostly shocked that this shit is actually popular#I found it really campy in an unfun way & full of WILDLY dislikeable characters#but whatever I'm fine to not like it on my own I don't care#but now all of a sudden it's become super popular and over on autostraddle where I venture sometimes#a fan wrote an article raving about hazbin and how it's got great queer rep in it's main female lead#and now ppl are commenting saying they're exciting to check it out and just...#like it's one thing to support shows/creators who think it's okay to just swing ableist language like that around#but what upsets me the most is a possible disabled queer getting interested FROM this article & going to watch it#only to get suddenly hit over the head with a slur against people like you that the person in the article didn't even bother to mention#because that shit hurts#I can't speak for every disabled person obviously but when people use r-slur as a direct insult around me#it's like getting smacked directly across the cheek#bc it's an easy reminder of how those people view people like you#and YES I know what I'm talking about happened in it's sister show but if they become a fan then they're likely going to watch the other on#language like this CAN be used tactfully for the record#like if it was used to show the character as a cruel person who uses slurs as such#and therefore paint them in an obvious bad-light to the audience so we better understand who that character is#but no from my memory the character just wanted to insult the other one and could've said anything#instead we have to resort to slurs like it's fucking family guy#'what great queer rep!' not to be all 'queer content has to be pure!1!!1' but folks we can do better then this

ONE LAST TIME, R. SUNA
sum. two months into your relationship with your current boyfriend, your ex-fwb finally sends you a voicenote to let you know exactly how he feels about it.
feat. rintarou suna
cw. ex-fwb!suna, cheating, mutual masturbation (kinda lol), jealousy, dirty talk, anal mention, pillow humping, possessiveness, degradation
wc. 1.2k
When you posted your first official pictures of you and your new boyfriend, you had expected Suna to react…negatively. You basically braced for impact the moment you hit post, but all you got from him was an Instagram notification and two texts.
sunarin liked your post.
rin ;)
lmk if you want me to delete our pics. and hmu when you two break up :p
You never bothered replying, initially not sure how to reply, and then forgetting about the texts entirely. The two of you barely have any contact for a few weeks after that, but he's obviously keeping up with your socials; liking every post and viewing every story. It doesn't bother you, but it's weird going cold turkey on your relationship like that. You had expected him to reach out for some sort of closure. You wanted him to.
Halloween swings by in no time, and (much to you boyfriend’s dismay) you dress up as a sexy nurse. You don’t remember much of the night, but you do know that you posted a picture of you and your friends all dressed up on your story before getting blackout drunk.
Your phone dies early on in the night. Your friends take good care of you up until it’s time to bring you back home, and you don’t wake up until the afternoon. You don’t check your phone until a couple hours after that—long after it's been turned on and charged to 100%.
When you finally check it, two particular notifications catch your attention.
sunarin liked your story.
rin ;)
Voice Message
The voice message is 12 minutes long.
You exit your texts immediately, opting to distract yourself by tending to your other notifications. It doesn’t help much. Your mind races, wondering what he was talking about for so long and if it was really so important that he reached out after almost four months of near-silence.
You toss your phone onto your bed, shaking your head. You try to ignore it, cleaning the bathroom and folding the laundry and vacuuming the living room all in an effort to forget about the lengthy recording sitting in your phone.
But it doesn’t take long for the curiosity gnawing at you to win.
You practically run back to your bedroom, grabbing your phone and sitting cross-legged in the middle of the bed. Your fingers move quickly across the screen, hitting play without hesitation.
The first 8 seconds are nearly silent, and you start to wonder if it’s possible that he sent such a long message by mistake.
But then you hear a heavy sigh.
“I like your costume.” His tone is hushed, like he’s telling you a secret. “You look hot.”
There’s another moment of silence, like he’s giving you a chance to change your mind and stop listening.
But then Suna moans and your eyes nearly bulge out of your head.
“You never answered my text, y’know. When I asked if you wanted me to delete our pictures. So, uh, I kept ‘em.”
Oh.
Oh fuck.
“I’m looking at one right now. It’s from last Halloween. When you-“ His breath hitches. “When you went as a Playboy Bunny.”
You remember. Suna dressed as Hugh Hefner and the two of you went to a party together. Then he took you back to his apartment and fucked you while you were still wearing the bunny ears and bowtie.
You’re pretty positive you’re not wearing the bodysuit in the picture he’s looking at.
“I don’t know how much of this night you actually remember, but I can describe the picture for you.”
You tense, anticipation sending goosebumps up your arms.
“You’re kneeling on the ground, looking up at the camera, and you’ve still got those bunny ears on your head.”
This voice message is going in the last direction you thought it would. Is he—?
“You’ve got cum all over your face, baby.” He laughs to himself before continuing. “And you’re sticking your tongue out like a fucking whore.”
Suna takes a ragged breath, a sound you're all too familiar with. It confirms your suspicions—he’s definitely jerking off.
“That was a good night. We had a lot of good nights.” He sounds miffed all of a sudden. “I seriously doubt the boyfriend is fucking you as good as I did.”
You suppress a shiver. A pang of guilt heats your chest at the mention of your boyfriend. You should stop listening. Delete the message. Tell him to delete the pictures and then probably block him.
Or you could let the message keep playing.
Suna inhales sharply, followed by a shaky moan. You swear you can hear the sound of his fist stroking his dick.
“I hope you’re not letting him put it in your ass like you let me. That’s our thing, okay?”
Under different circumstances you would have laughed.
“Fuck,” he hisses. “And I hope you’re not letting him spit in your fucking mouth. Or–shit–doing that thing where you’d suck me off with your head hanging upside down off the bed.” He falters at the end of the sentence, groaning into the phone.
“I’m not gonna–” he interrupts himself, sighing deeply. “I’m not gonna pretend I’ve been happy for you. I miss you.”
You feel hot all over, a heady combination of annoyance and arousal and embarrassment. There’s a dull throbbing between your legs and in the back of your mind you wonder if this is what Suna wanted when he sent the message.
“Just–just let me fuck you one more time. Okay princess? I’ll make it sooo good for you,” he whines. You can hear his hand picking up speed.
“It’s still early. Two months is nothing, it won’t even count as cheating.” You can hear the smirk in his voice. “God, just one last time. Please?”
Without thinking, you grab a pillow and position yourself over it in a straddle. You won’t let him fuck you, but that doesn’t mean he can’t make you come one last time.
“I promise I’ll do that thing you like with my tongue. And you can pick all the positions if you want to.” There’s a tremble in his voice. “Or just lay there. I’ll do all the work.”
You grind into the pillow beneath you, picturing the expression you know he’d be wearing if he were in front of you–batting those dark eyelashes with raised eyebrows, just barely able to control the smug curve of his lips.
Heat pools in your gut and a whimper falls from your lips. Suna keeps talking.
“I know you miss me. You have to. You’re probably touching yourself to this right now.”
You gasp softly and rock your hips faster.
“Such a fucking slut.” You hear the telltale quiver in his voice that tells you he’s getting close. “My fucking slut.”
You moan, his words giving you flashbacks.
“Oh fuck. Fuck, I’m coming,” he rasps, before letting off a series of moans and whimpers that almost make you concede. You grind harder into the pillow beneath you, imagining Suna in his room, chest heaving, talking into the phone and making himself come to pictures of you.
That does it. A tsunami of pleasure washes over you, forcing your body to tense before you go limp, collapsing onto your bed with a shudder.
You and Suna breathe in tandem, both of you catching your breath.
You hear another laugh through the phone. “Damn, that was a lot.” There’s the sound of sheets rustling. “Kinda made a mess, princess.”
He’s silent for another few beats before clearing his throat. “Text me, okay?” he says quietly. “Please.”
The voice message ends.

I reblogged it earlier but I'm glad the Something Awful Forums 9/11 thread was archived because it's an incredibly important slice of internet history. For the record I think 9/11 was thousands of personal tragedies for the direct victims of the attacks but one big national farce that led to America's ongoing slide into fascism, and the nationalism and remembrance around it is a joke especially in the wake of the same amount of deaths every fucking day in the US during the height of coronavirus.
Nevertheless I think it's important that if you do not remember because you were too young or just didn't exist on Sept 11, 2001 to read the Something Awful 9/11 forums to get an idea of what the internet was like at the moment when America changed to 24 hour news cycles and renewed hyper-nationalism not seen since WWII.
This all happened before Twitter, Facebook, before Discord. Before smart phones. Before most people had cell phones. When a lot of people still had dial-up internet, even. Some people in the thread were relying on radio because internet and TV weren't keeping up.
It was a live event of internet denizens reacting to the biggest national event (and among the biggest international events) of the past 25 years. It was also a slice of what the internet was like at the turn of the millennium. Not only that, but people accurately calling out who was responsible, and what would result before the attacks even finished.
Keep in mind that the links that follow contain images of the event, lots of Islamophobia, people calling for the Middle East to be nuked, people blaming Palestine, casual racist and homophobic language (this was Something Awful after all), etc etc. They preserved the first 17 pages which spanned about 24 hours during the events. It's the origin of the "WATCH BUSH START A FUCKING WAR" screenshot.
Links under the fold. I've also annotated the pages with notes regarding the timeline and any posts of interest. Note the thread was preserved in Pacific Time even though the page says times are Eastern. That's incorrect. Post timestamps are 3 hours behind Eastern Time, which is the time zone where the attacks occurred:
Page 1 - Note the first post was edited to include images of the second attack. The thread started after the first plane hit. Second plane hitting the WTC happens here too.
Page 2 - Poster accurately calling out Bin Laden was responsible at 9:14 AM EST
Page 3 - "WATCH BUSH START A FUCKING WAR"
Page 4
Page 5 - First official acknowledgement it was a terrorist attack.
Page 6 - Pentagon hit
Page 7
Page 8
Page 9 - Commercial flights grounded by FAA (Federal Aviation Administration)
Page 10 - First mention of towers collapsing at end of page
Page 11 - More reactions to collapse of first tower. People thinking it was a bomb or yet another plane. Rumors about a fourth plane just missing the White House (these are false and predate the actual 4th plane crash by minutes)
Page 12
Page 13 - By this point there's just rampant speculation about more bombs at the WTC, the US Capitol building being hit, etc (all false). Remember this is all just people reacting to TV news and radio and the rumor mill via phone, AIM, IRC, and maybe text messages.
Page 14 - By this point internet news sites are overwhelmed
Page 15 - Second tower collapses. First acknowledgement of the fourth plane that crashed in PA.
Page 16 - There's an abrupt time jump in the threads, I think it was the result of admins pruning the activity or the SA forums going down. This page starts on 9/12 even though it is page 16. American flag signatures and ribbons start appearing.

Aha - Take On Me 1985
"Take On Me" is a song by the Norwegian synth-pop band A-ha. The original version from 1984 was produced by Tony Mansfield and remixed by John Ratcliff. The 1985 international hit version was produced by Alan Tarney for the group's debut studio album, Hunting High and Low.
In 1984, Andrew Wickham was the international vice-president for Warner Bros Records America, and their A&R man in London. He immediately signed A-ha to Warner Brothers America, after learning several previous attempts had failed to make "Take On Me" a commercial success. The next release was not successful either and featured a very ordinary performance video. He authorised considerable investment in the band: on Slater's recommendation, renowned producer Alan Tarney was commissioned to refine the song. The new recording achieved a cleaner and more soaring sound. It was re-released in the UK, but the record label's office in London gave them little support, and the single flopped for the second time.
Wickham placed the band on high priority and applied a lateral strategy with further investment. Steve Barron directed a revolutionary rotoscoping animation music video which took six months to create, using professional artists. Approximately 3,000 frames were rotoscoped, which took 16 weeks to complete. The single was released in the US one month after the music video, and immediately appeared in the Billboard Hot 100 and was a worldwide smash, reaching No. 1 in numerous countries.
At the 1986 MTV Video Music Awards, the video won six awards: Best New Artist in a Video, Best Concept Video, Most Experimental Video, Best Direction in a Video, Best Special Effects in a Video, and Viewer's Choice, and was nominated for two others, Best Group Video and Video of the Year. It was also nominated for Favorite Pop/Rock Video at the 13th American Music Awards in 1986.
"Take On Me" received a total of 95% yes votes, and is currently the most liked song on this poll blog! 🥳

Talked to a very smart friend of mine today who brought up the playlists she made prior to the album drop, which I totally forgot about. But those feed even MORE into this discussion because in the same vein, it was also somewhat accidental. Not in that she made them accidentally but that she made them with the intention of recontextualizing her old music, especially ones about a certain mythologized relationship, to get people in the right mindset for the new album (or the mindset she wanted you in). Also to give new reasons to stream her old catalog and boost her streaming numbers, yes yes all that. But I think the unintentional takeaway from the playlists was that it put fans in the mindset that they encouraged them to see her songs as modular. Of course all music is free floating and people make playlists all the time, but for her to, inadvertently, encourage that is a fascinating turn given the history of her music being strictly eras defined and confined, and she’s currently entrenched in a tour promoting that very mindset. But going into ttpd with this revelation that her songs are actually infinitely movable, perhaps more like legos rather than puzzle pieces, mayyyyy have had a hand with everyone’s impulse to curate their own version of ttpd. And I think that solidifies where I’m at with all of this. She isn’t perhaps as manipulative as people think, but she is astute, on an intuition level. She licks her finger and holds it up to gauge the direction of the wind and is smart enough to go wherever it takes her, even if she doesn’t know where it’ll be exactly. She has a really innate understanding of her job that she’s been doing for 15+ years now even as it is ever evolving. It’s more of a gut genius than an actively strategic and plotting genius. And that’s an even more powerful form of genius, almost prodigious.
Sometimes I can’t tell what is genius and what is accident with Taylor, genuinely like I’m not diminishing what she does. For instance, the recent album phenomenon where almost right away, every single person, critics included, made their own “TTPD Edit” if you will. A trimmed down selection of the 31 songs that either they think made a tighter album, fit into a narrative they liked, created a new narrative, or whatever compelled them. Obviously I don’t think Taylor wants anyone to cut any of her songs off an album she herself made, of course. So here is where I err on the side of accident. But then… I think about how the number one thing all artists, even Taylor sized ones, are tasked with is creating engagement around a product. Taylor for this album tried to start the “fortnight challenge” which went absolutely nowhere. However, the fact that everyone, haters and lovers of ttpd alike, have made their own edits, which is an incredibly active form of engagement and stream booster, is an astoundingly brilliant stroke of….. luck? Genius? I can’t tell. I can’t fucking tell!!! Maybe it wasn’t accidental and she was intentionally clever to drop an obscene amount of songs that resemble more of a sketchbook than a solid story or even sonic cohesion (again not a knock just a pretty objective observation compared to previously more cohesive works of hers and others). An album almost… stay with me here, almost too messy that it begs you to finish it up, clean it up. Engagement that was so compulsive and universally experienced by everyone that its unreal to me how that’s unintentional. And she’s especially intuitive in this arena, finger on the pulse, mirrorball woman that she is. The data dump release format feels almost like a strategy in that way. But I can’t quite believe she would ask of us to pluck our own apples from her abundant but still carefully cultivated tree and make our own pies. She encourages us to incorporate the songs into our lives yes but don’t tell her how to do her job, surely not! So I guess even if it was accidental, I suppose that’s still somehow a form of genius to me, that even her impulses are in tune with how to best engage a modern audience. Having been in this business, and on this end of it, for so long that she can just sense when to drip feed us and when to stuff us like foie gras geese. Does she fundamentally understand that audiences hate being told what to do, as she feels the same way herself, and knows how to guide engagement without forcing it? Is that also insane? Giving her TOO much credit? Idk I can’t decide but it’s a stone I turn over and over in my brain. She figured out that the house always wins and so she became the house. Astounding.
#this is such a fun topic I love talking to friends about this#and they love talking to me about this#it sounds like conspiracy but that’s not what we mean#if someone is good at marketing it’s just marketing it’s not a conspiracy skdnffngm#nobody is nefarious but my god she is good at this almost without even trying#she’s just built for it#like the fortnight challenge we can safely say was to satisfy the record label and the playlists I think were her idea#a one for them one for me situation#not that she had to do anything but she is as successful as she is because she’s good at maintaining valuable relationships#and sometimes that means giving a little to get a lot#I do also think she is good at planning and plotting as the fans say#but I think her true power is being able to always move in the right direction even when she ISNT able to plot assuredly#knowing that even when you move in the dark you’re gonna hit your mark??? that’s like…#almost psychic kind of shit like she is PLUGGED in she GETS it and that’s so cool to watch#my silly little essays
