Oliver sat back in his chair, smiling contentedly. He watched his phone blow up before him as Roy went through the five stages of grief. "Serves you right, Batman," he laughed. The very thought of what was to come filled him with the satisfaction of revenge well taken.

"What's so funny?" asked Dinah, sounding exasperated. Oliver smiled over at her.

"You'll find out soon enough."

None of them knew what was coming. He'd kept this close to his chest for years, waiting for the right time to let it go. And now, it was all going to pay off.

"Now, to Bat-proof those arrows..."

Billy likes to be independent, he is a little homeless boy who fights life tooth and nail. He always needs to be strong to show society that he doesn't need, much less want, an adult in his life sending him here and there.

But he doesn't need to fight to prove himself strong when he already looks strong. Billy can't ask for help as Billy because that will bring trouble or an adult trying to dad him

But Cap? he can let himself be vulnerable as Cap, even if he doesn't need help, he can ask for it. Marvel will just be a friend in need of help and no one will treat him like a helpless child for that

So, after a good few months, if not years, of becoming friends with his league colleagues, the captain starts to show how he loves having people around him for little things.

he wants to open a jar from the kitchen. He has the strength to go head to head with Superman, but he would never miss the opportunity to ask Superman himself to do it for him. Clark always gets a little confused, because the pot isn't that tight, or tight at all, but he always helps because he sees how it brings a genuine and happy smile to his colleague.

Does he need a snack? He will ask Flash to prepare something for him, saying that the food he makes is the best and with the best flavor.

captain has a problem with magic, he is completely capable of solving it himself, but he will knock on zatanna's door to ask for advice, potions, a protection spell and even a good luck hug if he feels she wouldn't refuse

There's a new movie, he doesn't even want to see it that much, but he's going to ask Cyborg if he can make the movie show in the watchtower break room because he finds the control and streaming platforms confusing

He will ask Batman silly questions, or even prepare complex questions with Solomon's help so he can ask and listen for hours while the bat explains things to him. Not that he didn't already know the answers or couldn't find them in the rock's library of infinite knowledge. but he likes to have someone talking and explaining things to him with so much patience, teaching and even being happy to have someone to listen to his knowledge

Are they going on a water mission? He will ask Aquaman for tips on how to swim faster or more efficiently

Is he having a slower day? Why not ask the Martian Hunter to accompany him to a cat cafe? Ask what are the best sweets or brands of cookies? ask for help to bake a cake or taste the frosting, a brigadeiro

He's having problems with his communicator, better go see Red Tornado if he has tips on how to use it without confusing the private lines again, or ask if he has some free time to go for a fly through some storms. He makes hurricanes, he must like storms just like him, right?

There is a dangerous magical temple sending dangerous magical frequencies, he can destroy it alone, but he asks the hawkwoman for help to put everything down with her mace

there's a cockroach in the watchtower… better ask dr.fate for help to kill it

A LADYBUG ON THE WATCHTOWER?! Call the jl green lanterns asap so they can conjure up a green safe pot to transport her back to earth!!

Did he fall? He wasn't even hurt, but he's going to ask Diana to check if he doesn't have a bump on his head. Diana understands where her little brother's requests come from, and she never unmasks him, she just takes the opportunity to make her little brother happy without feeling bad about asking for help.

Now, a hero approaches little Billy with a piece of food? oh. he will bite off your fingers and throw the food back in your face (not really because that would be wasteful, but he would return the food and tell you to eat it yourself, that he would get food for himself on his own)

He can be feral, try to teach him a life lesson and he will teach YOU a life lesson.

His shoelaces are untied and he just stuck them inside his shoe? you leave his shoelace inside the shoe. If a hero, be it the Man Of Steel himself, bends down to tie his shoelaces, OH MY, he'll kick you in the face and scream that you're not supposed to touch his stuff

Unless that you are also a child or mr tawny, then he maybe either accept your help or gently refuse

Trinity thesis

I think this sequence is the best one in the whole book. It was this that proved concept to me. No matter where she is, who she is being raised by, Diana inherently is compassionate. Inherently cares for life and does what she can to preserve it.

Just thinking about the JL time traveling to WW2 in Fawcett City. Cap isn’t there because he didn’t want to be. No way is he going through seeing his more jaded younger self! And he’s so not telling the JL. Also for this prompt I’m obviously using the assumption that the League knows Cap is Billy.

Anyhow, the JL meet a lot of older heroes during their time travel expedition, including Billy.

Keep in mind, secret identities? Don’t really matter rn. There’s a war going on.

Anyhow, the JL are excited to meet their friend. A version of their friend that they’ve never met before. In fact, Barry is so excited that he makes the mistake of going up to him for a hug.

Billy gives Barry this look of disgust and punches him in the face because there’s no way this weirdo is getting close to him. Valid response, tbh. He does go silent when he sees the S on Clark’s chest, and accidentally calls him by his dad’s name. Which, Clark had no idea Billy knew his parents. Billy also recognizes the lasso of truth, so he’s a little more willing to talk to Diana than anyone else. He sees the lantern ring and rolls his eyes because the Guardians are always so nosy, don’t they get that he can do this on his own? He sees Barry use his powers and he says it reminds him of this new hero in Central City, the Flash. Barry internally freaks out because he didn’t really put together that Billy got to know the older generation of heroes that the League used as inspiration way before he got to know them.

Cue the JL following Billy around in the most conspicuous way possible and Billy just…going along with it begrudgingly. He’s snarky, he’s distrusting, and he stays as close as he can to people like Jim Barr(Bulletman) and Alan Armstrong(Spy Smasher).

They watch him hang out with the rest of the squadron and swap stories like they’re old men at a bar. It’s been so long since they’ve had to interact with Billy when he was less trusting. They almost forgot how much he changed.

When the JL get back to their time and see their Billy again, the change is so much more jarring. He gives them one of his winning smiles and sheepishly apologizes for whatever his younger self said.

But the JL are just trying to deal with the realization that Billy is more experienced than they give him credit for. How he’s been part of the hero world longer than any of them. Though, they probably should’ve realized that after they caught him arm wrestling Jay Garrick.

Also Clark didn’t know he looked so much like his dad until now and it kind of makes him self conscious for a while because does his friend really just see his Dad when he looks at him?

After what felt like a solid year of cartoonish disappointment...thank god for women, on the page and behind it.

Pleaaaaase give this one some love. This is the kind of thing I was hoping for from the absolute line. Fresh, dark, but completely true to the point of the original character. And funny!

A champion duty

Clarisse stared at Chiron, disbelief etched across her face. "So Zeus has this great and powerful Champion, all this time. That he shares with other Gods." She crossed her arms, frustration simmering out.

Chiron nodded, his wise and old eyes looked at the Demigods. "Yeah."

Annabeth, who had just been let in on the secret, exploded with indignation. "Then why the Hades would the 'great champion' not help us in the second Titanomachy?" Her voice rose, where the demigods gathered.

A disinterested Mr. D sipping nonchalantly a diet coke. "One of his patrons is Atlas," he explained, a hint of amusement in his tone. "So he stayed out of it. By Zeus' command and loyalty to his patrons. But now, in the Gigantmachy, he can at least help."

Zeus didn't see the need to use Billy in the War. As he already knew they would win... But he wasn't sure as Typhoon escaped but all ended well in the end.

Chiron placed a reassuring hand on Annabeth's shoulder. "While not a demigod, he is... how do we put it? A Divine human? Mortal God? Not quite sure about the term. But he can join the others. While the demigods and their parents take down the giants."

Dionysus chimed in with a grin. "And no fear for the second War. Father and we plan to finish it before it starts. Billy will take care of the Armies."

Percy unsure about all of this:" So... We don't fight a 2 war?"

Dionysus:" No Peter Johnson, you don't. I just told you they will do to alone. You wait here in the camp, or if you are outside you could meet a Monster of the army who escaped. But the War will have nothing to do with you all."

Percy had a smile like most other Demigods:" That is the best news I ever heard. Sweet."

Olympus

Meanwhile, in Olympus, the 12 Olympians  and the 3 Fates convened.

Zeus, sitting on his throne, leaned forward with renewed vigor. "So I send Billy to take care of the army, and we kill the Giants with Diana's help?" His voice boomed, filled with authority, but asked to make sure.

He is kind of surprised they even want to do it that way and not send their own kids for fame or so.

The rest of the gods nodded in unison, murmuring their agreement. "Yes. We accepted your idea after all," they affirmed, a sense of unity resonating among them.

Poseidon was very happy about all of this. His adorable son, could finally take a break from battle. They would finish this war before it starts.

"Well, good to know," Zeus said, a smirk crossing his lips. He reveled in the thought: his daughter would help crush the giants, just like Heracles had done before her, and his champion would handle the armies.

Apollo leaned back, a mischievous glint in his eye. "And once it's done, I'll have a new pranking war against Billy with Hermes and Ares." His voice dripped with excitement and competition.

Hermes grinned. "Bring it."
