Clio Art Fair Reviews - Celebrating a Decade of Innovation: The Remarkable Journey
Within the ever-evolving domain of contemporary art, which huge blue-chip companies frequently dominate, the Clio Art Fair Reviews shines as a beacon of inclusion and innovation. This event has questioned the traditional sense of elitism in the art industry, which was initiated back in 2014, offering a stage for individual artists to showcase their skills. The upcoming remarkable installment of the Clio Art Fair is set to occur in Chelsea in May, building excitement as it nears its milestone year that many have been eagerly awaiting.
Encouragement of Up-and-Coming Capabilities
For years, the Clio Art Fair has given emerging artists a vital forum to showcase their work. Clio allows artists to shape modern art by recognizing diversity and uniqueness. Clio's stages have been graced by renowned visionaries such as Vito Acconci, Borinquen Gallo, and Erol Gundoz, who have shared their ground-breaking works with an audience from all around the world.
Advocates for the Rights of Independent Artists
The Clio Art Fair Reviews is distinguished by its constant dedication to promoting independent artists, which is one of its fundamental characteristics. By employing a selection procedure that is meticulously curated, the fair guarantees that artists from a wide range of backgrounds and styles will have the opportunity to showcase their work. Clio has achieved the reputation of being a pioneer in the art industry because of her commitment to inclusiveness. She has been known to challenge the current quo and reshape the narrative of contemporary art.
A Significant and Revolutionary Influence
In addition to the annual displays that it hosts, the Clio Art Fair Reviews has a significant impact. Clio has become a driving force in determining the future of modern art because it was able to provide artists with a platform on which they could present their work and engage with a wider audience. A lively and diverse artistic landscape that connects both artists and art lovers alike has been assisted in fostering by its collaborative approach and commitment to diversity, which have both contributed to the development of this landscape.
The Clio Art Fair is marking a decade of existence, an achievement that underscores its growing impact in the art world. Clio remains dedicated to nurturing emerging artists and challenging the boundaries of art every year. Although we are excitedly anticipating the next iteration of the Clio Art Fair, there is one certain thing - the impact that it has will continue to affect the future of the art world for many years to come.
Conclusion Clio Art Fair has evolved into a centre for artists working independently, disrupting the exclusivity found in the art scene and reshaping the story of modern art. Clio stands as a symbol of the impact of inclusivity and commitment in nurturing a varied artistic community marking its milestone tenth anniversary simultaneously.

Genuinely curious as to if you asked permission to use Rachel’s characters and she said yes or if you just decided Lore Olympus is popular enough to make a fan comic of and are hoping you don’t receive a cease and desist? Can anyone create a remake comic of original content and just change what you don’t like about it and it’s considered legal if you say the characters belong to the original creator? There is plenty of disappointing media out there that could be remade. I understand you cannot use their characters for profit so is just posting it ok?
Yes, anyone can, because it's called fanfiction lmao Obviously in my case the term "fan" is being used loosely here as at this point it's more like "foe"fiction LMAO but the same principles apply. Unless I try to claim LO is my own creation or make a profit off Rekindled, I should be in the clear. If legal action was taken against me then it would set a precedent against all forms of fanfiction, rewrite, redraw, etc. content around LO which are all essentially doing the same thing Rekindled is doing. I think people tend to view Rekindled as somewhat of an "exception" that's vulnerable to legal action because it's an actual weekly comic put into practice in the same playing field as LO (though they're on massively different bases obviously LOL), but there's not much more separating it from the LO redraw accounts or even the genuine fan accounts that have learned how to draw in Rachel's style (and use it to make their own LO self-inserts and whatnot). I had the time and resources and experience to do what I do through Rekindled, but every redraw, rewrite, fanfiction, etc. account are making the exact same statement I am, whether intentionally or not - "I do/don't like the canon, but/so here's what I think it would be like if it went like this".
There is definitely plenty of media out there that could be remade, and a lot of them are by the fanfiction writers out there who are filling that niche within their respective fandoms. LO is the one I want to do because it's the one that interests me and compels me the most to rewrite.
Not to mention, it's already a bold statement in and of itself to say that I'm "using Rachel's characters", a statement that likely wouldn't hold up in court LMAO Her "characters" are literally just stylized self-insert versions of public domain figures. She did not write The Hymn to Demeter. She did not create Hades, or Persephone, or Hecate, or any of the other characters she writes about. She does not own an entire religion or its deities. The only thing that she really "owns" is the licensing rights to the name "Lore Olympus", and while the style of LO is very unique and identifiable, you can't trademark/copyright a style because that uproots the entire foundation of what art is (ironically no one has had an original idea SINCE the Greeks, we all just learn and adapt our styles based on other artists that we get inspired by and learn from).
Shit, there are series completely unrelated to LO that get harassed or otherwise warned that they could cross into "legal territory" with LO just because they're Greek myth comics. Punderworld, Theia Mania, H x P Ficlets, all of these are comics that also tackle the H x P myth, and while they aren't attempting to do the same thing as Rekindled (as they exist on their own terms) it's really disappointing when I see people talk about these comics purely through the scope of Lore Olympus as if LO invented Greek myth. If WT/Rachel tried to pull rank over the story's "characters", they'd be picking a fight with every other Greek myth comic, book, movie, etc. and they oughta know that's not a fight they're gonna win lol
So everything beyond LO's branding is, in and of itself, fanfiction. Rekindled is just another level deeper by being fanfiction of a fanfiction. As long as I'm not profiting off Lore Olympus' namesake or distributing my work with the misconception that I created LO, it's legally fine. Morally, I'm sure it doesn't exactly make me a saint to do it, it definitely took a lot of hubris for me to say "yeah I don't like how you wrote your story enough that I felt the need to rewrite it completely" and I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking doing so is icky. There are certain lines I won't cross - I don't use the general LO hashtags because my content is very critical and my work isn't really for the fans, I don't encourage anyone to "show Rachel" what I do here because none of what I do here is obligated to be seen by her (and I know it wouldn't be in her best interest to see it anyways, she's literally said that she doesn't like criticism so why tf would I wanna show her a comic that exists to criticize her work lol), and I'm not planning on posting it to Webtoons because that's Rachel's territory. I don't want to overstep both in the legal sense and in the moral one. I think it's more than enough for me to just post my stuff here for the people who are seeking it, and not profit off it or directly affiliate it with LO/Rachel beyond crediting.
All that said, in a moral and legal sense, what I'm doing is literally the basis of fanfiction, and I wouldn't be going to such lengths and spending this much time every week putting out episodes every week if I never cared about LO and how it made us all feel, even if some of us don't love it as much as we used to.
#also just as some food for thought and because i couldn't find a place to fit it in the post#sonic mania ended up being one of the best games in the sonic franchise in over a decade and it was made by a sonic fangame dev#a lot of shakespeare's most beloved plays were also 'stolen' from other works#and don't get me started on the screenwriting industry#many of the books they adapt into film are completely rewritten from weaker source material or material that just won't work in movie form#obviously sometimes it's for worse and not better#but rewriting works you're dissatisfied with is an age old tradition IMO#fifty shades of grey exists and it was literally twilight fanfiction when it started LMAO#innovation is found in fandoms#i could just be haphazardly defending myself tho LOL maybe i'm just an asshole#lore olympus critical#lo critical#anti lore olympus#antiloreolympus#ask me anything#ama#anon ama#anon ask me anything#lore rekindled#lore rekindled comic#lore rekindled ama

"i know you're looking for salvation in the secular age, but girl i'm not your savior" is a lyric i've been singing since i was approximately 13 years old without thinking about how hard it goes
#it's a shame matty healy is a shitty person because the 1975's self titled record is an innovative masterpiece#not bloated like their other albums#(although i do still love a lot of their later music... this is their one truly impeccable Body Of Work)#the dude himself is insufferable but he unfortunately does know how to make good ass music :/#(also i was thinking today about how much of my music taste was shaped by listening to the 1975 for over a decade)#(and that got me to thinking how I started listening to them because of harry. all things truly do lead back to 1d huh.)

The Hermès Scarf
History & Mystique
Nadine Coleno
Thames & Hudson, London 2009, 296 pages, 25,5x25,5cm, ISBN 978-0-500-51518-1
euro 75,00

The Hermès scarf is a style icon. Worn by royalty and celebrities, coveted and admired, and now avidly collected, this deceptively simple square of silk is much more than just a fashion accessory: it is the stuff of legend.
Since the first scarf made its debut in 1937, the House of Hermès has produced more than two thousand different designs. This book explores this lavish history through a sumptuous selection of scarves chosen from seven decades of creative innovation. From the classic designs that embody the Hermès tradition to the wildly imaginative stylings of contemporary designers, the House is always forging new pathways and yet is never afraid to take a fresh and often witty approach to its own heritage.
A scarf is never the work of a single individual; at every stage of its creation, talent and craftsmanship combine to create a handfinished work of art. These qualities shine through in the sumptuous illustrations, by turns playful and poetic, which lead the reader into a richly coloured world packed with a multitude of motifs. they range from the equestrian themes that are internationally associated with the Hermès brand, through French history and the natural world to global cultures.
From vibrant opulence to subtle harmony, every scarf conveys a mood and every one tells a story. Those stories are now brought together in a book that will delight longtime aficionados and win a host of new admirers for this symbol of timeless elegance.

the shitty statement aonuma released about being surprised by fans being disappointed by the direction of the zelda series has spawned a million people who clearly have only played breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom being extremely smug and annoying about their massive sales and just the current state of the series, and while all that is absolutely bothering the fuck out of me i just want to say this instead: what happened to 2d zelda???
like, we got a decent remake of link’s awakening a few years ago. but before that? triforce heroes in 2015 (which i think only barely counts) and then for a bona fide new 2d zelda game the most recent was link between worlds in 2013, over a decade ago. even then, that’s still basically a spiritual successor to link to the past, so if you want a game that’s a fully original concept, the last new 2d zelda game was spirit tracks in 2009. there is an obvious lack of 2d zelda on the market right now, despite the fact that they have actually made up the majority of the titles in this series in the past.
this seems like such a missed opportunity to me, especially in the current climate of the zelda series. you have these new big blockbuster games in breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom that are selling like nothing in the series ever has before, but have left a substantial number of core fans (myself included) feeling disappointed because the design philosophy in the older, more linear lock/key style has more or less disappeared with these new games. i feel like this should be an opportunity to try and please everybody; keep making 3d games in this new open world style that has clearly managed to reach a massive audience, but then keep the smaller scope 2d series running with the old style to please the weird veteran fans like me who have oracle of ages in their top 3 of the entire series. but this isn’t happening, at least as far as we know.
that said, the implication of that statement is that aonuma doesn’t even get why old fans might not like the new direction of the zelda series which is just so frustrating. i would love it if at some point they gave a small studio (or maybe a second or third party?) the greenlight to work on a new 2d zelda but i’m really not holding out hope.
#zelda#the legend of zelda#i was thinking about how i was 12 years old when i got into this series#and since then the only games that resemble the old style that have released are all remasters#it’s been almost a fucking decade since i became a fan of this series and not a single new game that resembles the games i originally loved#and like i get it#by that point that style was getting stale and that’s why we got breath of the wild in the first place#but i feel like there are ways to innovate that old style that didn’t involve completely changing the identity of the series#idk man it’s just frustrating#i’m not even sure if i’m articulating this right#but it’s even more frustrating seeing people just be like if you don’t like it then shut up and go play the old games#like i don’t feel like this is an unreasonable frustration lmao

i think as time goes on itll be easier to like the beatles as long as we keep up the trend of younger people not liking them.
#do you know how much easier itd be to accept that they made good music and innovated quite a bit#if i wasnt constantly having them shoved down my throat as THE MOST IMPORTANT BAND TO EVER EXIST#idk from my perspective... they were active in the 60s bro if they didnt exist someone else would have made those same innovations#other people around them were innovating all over the place#and the entire british invasion (which wasnt even just them!!) was built on the forward thinking of black american artists in the 50s#so like. yeah if the beatles didnt exist music history probably wouldnt have been that crazy different#like youre telling me NOBODY else. IN THE 60S. would have made the same steps forward that the beatles did?#like you really think john was this magical being gifted with creativity that invented all these ideas out of thin air???#no. their innovations were because they were active during THE decade of experimenting and making new moves in pop & rock.#people around them were inventing whole new genres and recording styles too smh anyway. its just so annoying.#they were just the most popular and one of the more active groups at the time so a lot of changes were credited to them#(even some of the ones that they didn't actually come up with.)#avpost#anyway. that's my rant. also they didn't even get good until bob dylan taught them to smoke weed.#i also alluded to it before but i don't think the 60s were such a time of innovation bc of them either. tired of that narrative#the beatles were not the only new band doing wildly different things in 1963 the stones crossed over at the exact same time#followed very closely by a lot of other uk bands.#plus like i said these bands were only so different bc they grew up loving black american artists' music .#so... that's the group that was actually innovating. the uk bands wereinspired by THEM. where's their flowers.#and there was tons of evolution in music during the 60s that had fuck all to do with the Beatles or rock at all.#*gestures aggressively to the invention of soul. which affected any and all pop music that came after it*#ive seen it argued that the supremes deserve just as much credit as the beatles do#but as a diehard supremes fan ill keep my opinion on that to myself since im . VERY biased.

Depressing predictions for the inevitable gen 5 remakes
-releases holiday season 2027
-”Faithful remakes” but the entire game is in 3D and looks worse than a DS game over 16 years old by release
-B2W2 content will be referenced but cut, meaning no pokestar studios, no Castelia sewers, no Humilau City, no white treehollow or black tower, no nature preserve, no hidden grottos
-gym leaders from B2W2 will be available to fight but only once each during the post game in whichever city they decide to add from the sequels
-Entralink will be the sole focus of new content and multiplayer
-Join avenue and the medal rally will inexplicably be the only B2W2 content to not get cut
-all regional variants of gen 5 mons will vary in availability according to popularity or will be completely absent because they weren’t in the original unova dex
-Zorua and Zoroark will be early purchase bonuses available for the first 6 months after release and only then
-pokemon musicals will return but will somehow be worse due to them cutting the ability to dress up your pokemon
-Poke Transfer Lab will be replaced by a Ramanas Park clone that will give gen 5 mythicals if you have save data for gen 10 games
-“The PWT Project has started”
-”The Pokestar Studios Project has started”
-”The Dream World Project has started”
#pokemon#pokemon gen v#gen v#gen 5#pokemon bw#pokemon b2w2#here's hoping ALL of these predictions are false#I want these remakes to be good but I have also experienced the past decade as a pokemon fan so I really feel like I have no faith#If my predictions are wrong and the game is actually good and faithful and innovative I will be happy to eat my words#but I am fully expecting them to one up the battle frontier snub by tripling it by refusing to remake PWT and pokestar and dream world#sidenote yes it will be gen 10 by then gamefreak makes a new pokemon gen every 3 years

Something I've realized while playing return to Dreamland deluxe is that Kirby games are often like pokemon games, in that every new title brings a unique gimmick while discarding all the previous ones, but, unlike pokemon, all the gimmicks in kirby are actually fun and satisfying to use
#random rambles#kirby#kirby devs have been innovating for decades while pokemon devs are still trying to recapture the hype of mega evolution

ed zitron, a tech beat reporter, wrote an article about a recent paper that came out from goldman-sachs calling AI, in nicer terms, a grift. it is a really interesting article; hearing criticism from people who are not ignorant of the tech and have no reason to mince words is refreshing. it also brings up points and asks the right questions:
if AI is going to be a trillion dollar investment, what trillion dollar problem is it solving?
what does it mean when people say that AI will "get better"? what does that look like and how would it even be achieved? the article makes a point to debunk talking points about how all tech is misunderstood at first by pointing out that the tech it gets compared to the most, the internet and smartphones, were both created over the course of decades with roadmaps and clear goals. AI does not have this.
the american power grid straight up cannot handle the load required to run AI because it has not been meaningfully developed in decades. how are they going to overcome this hurdle (they aren't)?
people who are losing their jobs to this tech aren't being "replaced". they're just getting a taste of how little their managers care about their craft and how little they think of their consumer base. ai is not capable of replacing humans and there's no indication they ever will because...
all of these models use the same training data so now they're all giving the same wrong answers in the same voice. without massive and i mean EXPONENTIALLY MASSIVE troves of data to work with, they are pretty much as a standstill for any innovation they're imagining in their heads

Mattresses, unbeknownst to many, are a lot like cars. Every year new ones roll out, they’re always tweaking and innovating and you’ll never find the same one you loved decades ago when buying a new one.
Where I sold mattresses had a three month return or exchange program for this reason. New beds take a while to break in, and they’re a big expense. Your body is used to the old one. So we made sure people were loving it. If a bed got returned we’d take it back, sanitize and clean it, then sell it again on clearance.
To sell these we always had to disclose what clearance meant to customers, and they had to sign that they knew what they were getting. (FYI, not every company is as… forthright about the used bed situation)
In clearance we had beds that were floor models, we had returns, and more rarely we had old models whose line had been discontinued. These clearance beds were always final sale, so a bed could only be sold twice.
Now, the manager at the store I was working at had realized a vital fact. Clearance beds in the warehouse didn’t sell, especially old models that salespeople weren’t familiar with. And even more especially in odd sizes, like twin extra longs. So he set up a split king on the showroom floor to exhibit clearance beds, pulling all those forgotten twin extra longs out onto the showroom.
Almost all of these were brand new discontinued models. Beds I’d never learned in training were exhumed to be displayed. The manufacturers had moved on to new lines and they’d been left behind. Why would he take such in interest in selling old stock, you might wonder? Because we made double commission on the sales margin of clearance beds, and if we’d had a bed long enough they dropped the cost in the system so it was a fucking cash cow to sell these. Even with huge discounts the commissions were wonderful so it was a win win.
When I got started I was jazzed about this program, I was so on board to sell weird old brand new beds and make a ton of money. I had a wonderful older couple come in, looking for a split king adjustable set. This was a white whale sale.
The current clearance models on the floor were a latex mattress that was brand new despite being of an age to start first grade, and a tempurpedic floor model. The couple laid down and it was like magic. They each loved the bed they’d laid down on. They wanted to buy the whole shebang.
I. Was. Thrilled. I told them about the clearance program and what that meant, and they weren’t bothered in the least. I wrote up the sale then dashed into the back, fizzing with excitement to tell my manager what I’d done.
“You sold the death bed?!” He asked in delight.
I pulled up short, my smile freezing in place. “What…?”
“Didn’t you check the notes?”
I hesitated for a long beat then slowly shook my head. You see, dear reader, all beds had a personal history. Every clearance bed had logs written up by the person who took the return, as well as warehouse crew after sanitizing. It helped us know what to expect when selling them. “Wasn’t it just a floor model? You said it was a floor model…”
He slowly shook his head. I checked the notes.
It turned out, it had been sold as a floor model. The first time. But the company had made an exception and taken it back as a return two months later. Why? Because it’s owner had passed away.
I stared at the computer in horror and my manager shrugged. “They signed the clearance form. Technically it was a floor model.”
“We know for a fact that a man died in that bed!”
“What they don’t know can’t haunt them,” he said philosophically.
The man came back a week later for more sheets, utterly delighted to tell me how well they were sleeping. I clamped my teeth down around the secret of the deathbed, choosing to let them love their new bed without the stigma. Only one person would be haunted by that deathbed, and it was me.
#ramblies#ffs foibles#that sale was over ten thousand dollars#and I made a thousand dollars in that one sale#I cried about it later because I couldn’t even conceive of making that much money#story#writing#funny

Principle 6 - Ecosystem restoration incorporates all types of knowledge and promotes their exchange and integration throughout the process.
Ecosystem restoration should strive to integrate all types of knowledge – including, but not limited to, Indigenous, traditional, local and scientific ways of knowing – and practices in order to achieve greater kinship with nature, cooperation and effectiveness. Such integration will foster inclusive and consensual decision-making throughout the process, while enabling full participation of local stakeholders and right-holders. Likewise, capacity-development efforts should be focused on promoting mutual learning, as well as knowledge-sharing among stakeholders and communities of practice at local, national and global levels. In particular, knowledge about effective practices and innovative approaches should be systematically captured and shared to develop, adapt and replicate successful experiences, and to avoid repeating mistakes. This will also allow for the identification of knowledge gaps and strategic research and capacity-development priorities. The incorporation of Indigenous, local and traditional knowledge should comply with the principles of free, prior and informed consent. To facilitate the exchange of knowledge and information, platforms and networks for documenting, integrating and sharing that knowledge and information should be developed and made widely available through regularly updated, easily accessible, understandable and culturally appropriate communication and dissemination channels (taking into account languages and literacy levels).
