This is one place on Earth where life can't live. It is totally lifeless. Without life. Life has ceased to be.
Dallol, a geothermal field in Ethiopia, is full of acidic, salty and hot ponds that don't allow life to form.
A lot like high school.

Sulfur, salt, and other minerals color the crater of Dallol volcano, part of the Danakil Depression in Ethiopia. At 157 feet (48 meters) below sea level, Dallol is Earth's lowest land volcano.

Troops deployed to Akseum suffered incredibly harsh conditions. Temperatures reached 319⁰K in the heat of the day and fell rapidly to lows of 264⁰K at night and geothermal activity rendered most bodies of water into acidic, hyper-salinated solutions of various poisonous metals. Worse still, unpredictable desert winds carried acidic vapours from rivers, lakes and powerful geysers, degrading equipment and blistering exposed flesh.
To preserve their combat capabilities and maintain proper morale in the face of this acid-blasted, incredibly inhospitable environment, Departmento Munitorum assessors determined that the Zagrosi regiments should be issued with special gloves.
10 old & stubby guardsmen are surely way more exciting than 2, right? That's a 400% increase in guardsmen! Generic army guys & gals they may be, but I so enjoyed painting this lot. Barely an edge highlight to be found, just drybrushing and washing and glazing and stippling my way to victory.
The description of the planet Akseum was heavily inspired by the very real and very incredible Dallol hydrothermal system in Ethiopia, which really does have lakes of acid and probably smells terrible!

Ethiopia seems like an amazing place! Hope you all are well.

Liberals and Zionists, the most annoying groups of people…
Now that I have your attention:
There's literally just a little bit left to the end here

The chance that I will be able to create my own cartoon one day is small, but that doesn't mean it's not possible… Or something like that

Yes, that's all I can say…
