hating Romeo and Juliet is fine if you had a shitty English teacher and didn't care about school at the time or whatever but if it's been many years since then... I'm giving you permission to let go of that opinion. the problem in Romeo and Juliet isn't the young love story, it's the stupid family rivalry that gets both heirs killed. that's what it's about. it's about closed mindedness and pettiness leading to tragic consequences. these adults hated each other so much, were so determined to hate each other, that they let their children die over it. the love story is romantic and dramatic, but hating the play because 'some dumb teens die bc they think they're in love' isn't it. they are in love. teens can be in love and it can feel like the most important thing in the world. and they shouldn't have to die bc of their families' bullshit.

"The beauty of human connection defies logic, tradition, and our inherent beliefs. It drives our need for passion, touch, and understanding from those who see us as we are, not as we pretend to be."

Why exactly is it that people think "old disney villains" that had no redeeming qualities, or fleshed out backstories were better? That does not make them better. In fact, it makes them either less interesting or just has it fall flat.
When I look for a story, I want the villain to be real. To show us the reasons why they came to this path. Why do they do the things they do? What's the motivation behind it? Is there a possibility that I could do the same things in their position?
A villain needs to have layers to be interesting. Good villains should make you think about your own behaviors and motivations and where they can change.
To just have a villain that is pure evil for no reason is only seen from one dimension. One perspective. It may move the story along, but does it add to it?
And, as obvious from the sheer amount of fanfiction exploring the backgrounds and motivations from old villains, people have an inherent curiosity as to the other side of the story.
Every single one of them has their own story, their own motivations, emotions, dreams, wants, needs. It's so.... grr. Don't water them down to "pure evil" when you are not considering them as a person too.
The story changes with the consideration of these things.

My DID hot take is endos are fine, theyll figure it out eventually. But you gotta want wholeness. Wholeness is posible, or at least team work. Like the In fighting cant work, the whole idea of a part of yourself persecuting you... You cant kill them yo, you have to make friends, and that SUCKs! Persecuter parts are hard fr. Only one way to stop the persecution though. Idk

Rachel Amber might just be a well-masked Max Caufield 🎭...
Ever think about how Rachel is actually like Max on the inside (Appreciation of art, getting attracted to and preyed on by Jefferson... sounds farmiliar ?), but instead of using time-travel to fix things, she uses her skill of blending in & masking herself?
Since we don't see Rachel's inner thoughts like we do w Max & Chloe, stuff like victim blaming and demonization occur.
People see what they want to see 🦌. When we only see people's actions on the surface level, it's easy for us to call it "manipulative" or another. Add a hate tag, then wave it off.
Dig deeper!
After reading an indepth analysis on Rachel, damn was she even more complex. Poor girl cared TOO MUCH, an opposite of "toxic" and "manipulative" many simply took her to be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This girl is one of the most complex video game characters in history. She is insecure, she wants things to go well for everyone, she grew desperate for an escape, she took the shortcut of a well-known teacher called Jefferson... She is stretched too thin and unable to let go of the expectations set on her by everyone in that town.. until her death. And what did she do beyond her grave? She went out of her way to save her favourite person, Chloe, by guiding her and Max to the lighthouse, where it's safe. She definitely wouldn't have gone that far if she just wanted her body found without caring deeply about Chloe.
...
Still think she was toxic and manipulative?
Read this and argue otherwise.
Ps: a typo, "an" in the pic, owell it shows how emotional I was 🥲

Amazingly Trustworthy
A consistent God faithfulness helps us become trustworthy. Just A Thought on how amazingly trustworthy our God is and how we can become more like Him. Enjoy!
Do pray for us, that the Word of the Lord may speed on (spread rapidly and run its course) and be glorified (extolled) and triumph, even as [it has done] with you, And that we may be delivered from perverse (improper, unrighteous) and wicked (actively malicious) men, for not everybody has faith and is held by it. Yet the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen [you] and set you on a firm…

“The Best They Could”
As a mother, one of the biggest crocks is telling kids that their parents did the best they could.  I, for one, did not.  There were days that I phoned it in.  That wasn’t my best even on a bad day.  That’s what I felt like doing.  Sometimes you need to dig deeper.
It seems the only aspect of our life where we are expected to dig deeper is athletics.  I think that we need to dig deeper intellectually, spiritually and emotionally.
The most that I can say is that I did what I did.  Make your peace with it.  That’s why there is therapy.  Anything else is bullshit.

When I’m told “wow you’ve changed” my first thoughts are, there’s context to gaining the weight and there’s context to losing it but especially, there’s context to losing more than half of it” and that, that being my first thoughts really shines light into how body image has impacted me, what image means
