the thing about liu kang is that he wasn’t even waiting to reunite with kitana, and neither she with him. they had accepted that they would never see each other again because they thought it impossible.

when kitana see’s liu kang again she doesn’t even register the fact that he has white eyes- that this is not her timeline’s liu kang. she doesn’t even come to the possibility of it being him until he actually verbally tells her. she physically cannot process it is her liu kang until she hears him tell her of their shared past.

like. they moved on. they accepted their separate fates. and then they saw each other again.
