How to romanticise Spring:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some ideas and things you can do to romanticise the Spring season 🫧˚˖𓍢ִ໋🌷͙֒✧˚.🧚🏻‍♀️.
Spring Wardrobe - Spring is the perfect time to start integrating new pieces into your wardrobe. Long flowing dresses, maxi skirts, pretty blouses, milkmaid dresses/shirts, rompers, dungarees, mini skirts, cami’s and so much more. Make sure to add a pair of new Spring pumps (Mary janes are perfect) and some pretty floral hair bandanna’s and flower crowns in there too. Pastel pinks, yellows, blues, greens and white fit perfect for this time of year, along with patterns and materials like floral print and lace 🩰
Change your eating habits. Put away the comfort food from winter and indulge in the delicious delicacy’s of Spring. Fresh fruit and vegetables can make endless recipes for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, sweet things like Oatmeal, Honey, gelato and any particularly sweet fruits are perfect for this time of year 🍒🥗🍵
Consume Spring media 💐 The media you consume affects your mood, consuming uplifting Spring content will not only make you feel happier in yourself, but will also make you look forward to and romanticise the season more. I have a list of Movies, TV shows & books you can consume in Spring that I will be uploading shortly ☀️
Read Spring books. There are SO many out there, classics are perfect for this time of year but any whimsical, forest-core, fantasy story’s like “The Hobbit” or “The legend of King Arthur” are perfect too 📖
Listen to classical music, movie soundtracks and pretty instrumentals whenever you are doing any of the following activities (I find it helps romanticising a lot! 🎶🌷)
Have a picnic outside - Bring a wicker picnic basket, beautiful picnic blanket, fancy plates and cutlery and have a picnic fit for a countryside princess outside, either at the park or in a field. Wear a big sun hat to keep shaded from the sun and be sure to bring the essentials (Princess picnic food can include miniature sandwiches, scones, cookies, cakes & cupcakes, fruits like strawberries, cherries and apples, any snacks you can think of, lemonade and sweet iced tea) 🌷
Host a Tea Party (either indoors or outside) Set a table with all your finest dinnerware pieces, wear a floaty dress and white gloves, and use your most precious Teapot to pour fruity and sweet flavoured teas into any delicate teacups you can find. You can even make this Bridgerton inspired and have a high-tea esque party. With cookies and strawberry shortcake, cupcakes and miniature sandwiches. Make sure to set the table with a pretty tablecloth, fresh flowers and napkins/fine cutlery for yourself or your guests. Play some classical music and enjoy 🫖
Go berry/fruit picking. This time of year is perfect for Strawberry, Cherry’s & fruit picking in general. Wear a big straw hat, a long dress and don’t forget to bring your basket with you to collect the fruit in 🍓
Visit a flower field 🌸 💐 this time of year, flowers are in full bloom. Wear the most beautiful dress and a flower crown, so you are ready to twirl in the flower fields to your hearts content 🌷
Bake new Spring recipes. There are SO many Spring/Easter baking ideas on Pinterest. Have a look at any and compile a list of Bakes you want to try this Spring season 🍰
Cook new Spring recipes, you can even incorporate any new foods you have tried into the recipes and be sure to write them down in your recipe book 🥧
Make flower crowns! You can use fresh flowers or fake flowers, some wire or plain headbands. Get creative with them, use flowers, gems, lace, ribbon (this is a lovely activity to do with friends outside) 🌸
Press flowers (Such a Spring fairy activity!) any wild flowers you find (preferably dying or damaged) take them home and press them in a heavy book
Go on Forest Fairy walks. Explore your local forests, parks, meadows in the most vibrant green and pink dresses, wear flower crowns and just be one with nature, listen to fairytale music and take in the wildlife and nature around you 🧚‍♀️
Decorate your bedroom/space for Spring. This can be as simple as changing the bedding or by going all out and re-decorating your room completely. Fresh flowers, fake plants, cottage-core illustrations of animals look lovely too 🌷
Celebrate Easter like a Spring princess (really get into it this year) enjoy a beautiful Spring breakfast, paint eggs, eat chocolate, do some Easter bakes in the kitchen, make Easter Sunday a special day for you 🐣
Journal/Sketch/Paint - Painting outside is one of my favourite things to do, and you could even set up your easel/painting supplies in a garden or local field and paint the scenery 💐 Journalling all about your pretty Spring days can be uplifting and I find that sketching illustrations of Flowers, woodland animals and just Nature in general makes me feel so at ease any time I do so 🦢
Visit historical places like castles, botanical gardens and garden centres. These places are always abloom in Spring. Most of these places offer café’s and afternoon tea’s too! 🌸
Visit a cute Café for afternoon tea 🫖 (Make sure to wear a pretty outfit!)
Go frolicking in meadows. Roll down hills and twirl in flower fields 🌼
Feed birds and take time out to Spend time with nature and wildlife 🐰

The Sternritter Kitchen
The thing that has been in my brain for a while
Quilge - He doesn't like bringing drinks to his room because he has a paranoid fear of spilling, so you can see him hanging out for like 2 hours in the morning while he drinks his coffee. Probably sitting cross-legged at the table
Askin - He also sits around while he drinks his coffee, except the coffee is an excuse to sit around and listen to all the gossip and drama. Also he has, like, 2 cups a day, one in morning and the other in the afternoon. If you catch him cooking anything, stick around, it's gonna be bougie and its gonna have some kind of cheese sauce
Mask - He pops in to make himself a sandwich then fucks back off to his personal gym (or the Sternritter theater) to watch movies and hang out with James. The big boy does interact with the other Sternritters, and he does appreciate their company, but James is his number 1 priority. ...unless there's a fight going on, then he's gonna stay and watch
Nanana - This man savors his food and refuses to take it into his room, so he will very much be sitting around relaxing during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sure, he's into the gossip, but he moreso loves the SMELL of the kitchen. Especially when Askin is cooking
Uryu - ... there's a kitchen?
Giselle - As previously mentioned, she likes to sit in the kitchen and threaten people with her Funko Pops, however she will also pretend that the Funko Pops are the ones cooking if she decides to make anything and will, in fact, blame them if it doesn't come out great. She's a surprisingly good baker and likes making grape-flavored things
Meninas - Why would she waste her time with the kitchen when she can be off petting the Sternritter cats or dunking on people in CoD?
Candice - Can be found scowling while making herself protein shakes at various times throughout the day while trying to be healthy and can be found eating Giselle's baked goods at night because they're too good to pass up
Liltotto - Leans on the wall in the hall just outside of the kitchen to catch the gossip as it leaves. If Askin is cooking, he'll sometimes just kinda- hold the spoon in the air beside himself and wait for her mouth to come stretchin in to taste what he's making, at which point you'll hear, from just outside the kitchen "tastes nice. needs more pepper-"
Gremmy - Banned from the kitchen because he tried being "creative" and made mustard gas
Äs Nödt - Slips out of his room solely for Askin's cooking (or sometimes to steal sandwich ingredients from Mask) like a little mouse, then promptly goes back to his room
Jugram - Though it was his money that decorated and remodeled the kitchen in the first place, he is banned from it because he "ruins the vibe" as Quilge and Bazz-B put it
Ryūken - ... there's a kitchen? Pt. 2
Bazz-B - He makes Oatmeal Raisin cookies and they are the only good Oatmeal Raisin cookies in the world. Other than that? He's probably eating someone else's leftovers, especially if he knows that they were looking forward to said leftovers
Bambietta - Is the reason that the kitchen had to be remodeled. Isn't banned because she's the one who cooks when Askin doesn't feel like it. If something she's making has chicken in it? You BEST BELIEVE it's gonna be bangin. And Mask and James are first in line at her BBQs
Yhwach - Banned from the kitchen for ruining the vibe. Before he was banned, he hyped everyone up for his "famous lasagna recipe" and it was the worst lasagna the kitchen has ever seen. Being forced to eat it just to make him happy was an unpleasant experience and the whole ordeal is probably the REAL reason he was banned
Robert Accutrone - He is the reason there is a whole cabinet JUST for cereal. Rob is a cereal fiend, if he can get his hands on it, it's gone. Especially if it's somethin fruity like Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, etc.
BG9 - Doesn't eat. Doesn't need to be in the kitchen. Visits once every few days to listen in on the new drama. There is a picture somewhere in the kitchen of him making breakfast for everyone with a whisk taped to one of his wrists for "maximum efficiency" (he makes amazing omelets)
Cang Du - He doesn't care who's cooking, it's all the same to him, he's gonna swoop in to steal a plate and then go back to the definitely serious business he was doing no matter what it is, who made it, or what time of day it is. The only time he didn't steal a plate of something was during the "Yhwach's Lasagna" fiasco and everyone has been accusing him of being a double-agent ever since because HOW DID HE KNOW?! (because he could smell its failure from a mile away)

🍨What Flavor Cookie are you based on the BAKER ASTEROID? PT.2 🍡
🧁BAKER ASTEROID◇◇ 《2549》🧁
🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮🥮
DESCRIPTION: The baker asteroid is said to be the bakers asteroid for baked goods and even bakers themselves.
🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁
Baker in Libra/7th house: I just get a loving vibe from this placement, either baker in libra likes to bake for their partner or your partner bakes for you( especially if it's in the 7th house) you could sell baked foods because libra does rule over merchandise and businesses. Venus influencing this y'all could have very beautiful techniques when baking especially if you decorate your cakes, cookies, etc. this placement has the ability to get very creative as well. I feel like y'all baking can be very good but kinda on the healthier side as well. Also y'all could actually have a bakery store
Cookie: canestrelli cookies// madeleine cookies
Baker in Scorpio//8th house: imma keep it real this could go 1 of 2 ways y'all might either be a good or bad baker that's just what I was called to say. Or you could be good but you guys might add some sort of knowledge that you have leared abou/ baking or edgy touch into your baking. This could be a hidden talent you have. Unless this is in a certain house or sign it could vary. In the 8th house, I would definitely say like a hidden talent. A gift you inherited from your ancestors this could get really spiritual or occultic. Also you could constantly be burning your baked goods. But don't get me wrong here y'all food definitely could be very good just a little over cooked . I have this placement in the 8th house and I like baked sweets soft but a tad burnt. Y'all cookie will be interesting to come up with.
Cookie: white chocolate red velvet cookies/ brown butter Carmel cookie
Baker in Sagittarius/9th house: its kinda giving foreign baking vibes like y'all take recipes from foreign cultures. Very adventurous with your baking style. Exspansive flavourrrrrr 🤤, y'all give me professional chef/ baker vibes here . Blessed in baking, might even go to school for baking or travel to learn about baking. I feel like y'all can become experts in baking. My little alchemists got the perrrrfect recipes to make your tastebuds explode!
Not really a cookie but they're good asf : Galab jamun/Big Blue Monster stuffed cookie (he he he he 😉)
Baker in Capricorn/10th house : now if baker is in the SIGN Capricorn I feel like y'all baking can be good but very old school if you look at your cookie you'll see what I mean. If it's in the 10th house this could be your career or just something your known for. Baker here it may have taken you some time to master baking. But I feel like Capricorn/10th house could make some good bakers. Depending on aspects, degrees, house, signs it will vary. But like I said very old fashion but good. If it's badly aspected, I feel like the baking might be a little dry or brittle. But all in all you could be a professional baker.
Cookie: oatmeal raisins/loornadoone/ snicker doodle
Baker in Aquarius/11th house: Eccentric, creative, different. Aquarius can blow some minds away or may be horrible. (depending on aspects don't beat me up😓) . I feel like y'all a little spicy/tangy it's giving lemon meringue or like y'all the type to mix pb&j into a cookie or sum like that. This placement as well could make you very popular for your cooking online. Friends may know how to bake. Baking may even be a dream. You guys as well could have a bakers blog or just be popular on social media for that.
Cookie: churro chocolate stuffed cookies/ pb& j cookies
Baker in Pisces/12th house: it's either lost or it's found here, y'all have it all or nothing. You either can bake your a$$ off or not. If you happen to be a good one then I feel like your really good you definitely could have the ability to heal others through your baking. But also since Neptune is here and Neptune rules 🍷🍺🥃💊🚬 there's a possibility of **cough cough** (edib----🌿🌿) im just being mindful if there's any kids reading this. These bakers could make comfort foods. Maybe even holistic, chemical free baked foods. I feel like this placements food could taste good and take your your taste buds to outerspace. 🤗😇
Cookies: raspberry swirl cream cheese cookie/ cosmic brownie cookies

National Homemade Cookies Day
Cookies are fun and easy to make, so why not bake a batch to enjoy and share with family and friends on National Homemade Cookies Day!
A delicious and comforting treat, perhaps homemade cookies brings back memories of mom baking cookies that were enjoyed with a tall and refreshing glass of milk. Or maybe homemade cookies weren’t a part of childhood, but this is the perfect opportunity to include them now in honor of National Homemade Cookies Day!
History of National Homemade Cookies Day
Homemade cookies have a history that dates several centuries – back to when everything that was eaten was ‘homemade’. The idea for cookies may have developed from making little cakes that were smaller and perhaps they were originally made to test the temperature of the oven before putting the full sized cake in to bake.
This may have originated in Persia, which is modern-day Iran, sometime around the 7th century AD. The growth of the popularity of cookies was likely two-fold. The first has to do with the way that the use of sugar was able to spread around the world. The second is that it was likely discovered that cookies were more convenient for travel and they would also bake faster than a full sized cake.
By the 14th century, homemade cookies were rather common throughout the continent of Europe as well as in England. In fact, one cookie that is still beloved today was made popular about this time: the shortbread cookie. Made from butter, sugar and flour, this recipe was simple and flavorful. Mary, Queen of Scots is credited with making this cookie more well-known and well-loved.
Since the industrial revolution, the homemade cookie has often taken a backseat to the more convenient versions of cookies that are made in factories. National Homemade Cookie Day was established to bring back the beauty and simplicity of celebrating cookies that are made at home. Perhaps homemade cookies are not yet a lost art, and raising awareness and promoting homemade cookies will help to ensure that it never becomes so!
And since the date falls at a time when the weather is somewhat mild, no one will complain about turning the oven on. Without a doubt, this is the perfect time to enjoy and celebrate National Homemade Cookie Day!
National Homemade Cookies Day Timeline
7th Century AD
Historians believe that cookies were invented around this time in Persia.
12th Century AD
Shortbread cookies originate in Scotland and eventually become commonplace under the influence of Mary Queen of Scots.
14th Century AD
Cookbooks from the Renaissance era are filled with many different types of homemade cookie recipes.
1600
Cookies are introduced to America
English and Dutch settlers in the New World brought recipes for homemade cookies with them.
1930s
Chocolate Chip Cookie is invented
Ruth Wakefield runs the Toll House restaurant in Massachusetts and invents the recipe that was meant to be served with ice cream.
How to Celebrate National Homemade Cookies Day
A variety of delicious and enjoyable ideas can be found for celebrating National Homemade Cookie Day! Consider some of these ways to have fun and enjoy the day–or come up with some of your own creative ideas:
Make Homemade Cookies
Of course, the most appropriate activity of the day is settling into the kitchen to whip up a batch (or several batches!) of homemade cookies. Choose from fan-favorite recipes like chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal cookies.
Or, get a bit more adventurous and creative with unique recipes such as lavender lemon shortbread cookies or cutout sugar cookies cut into cute shapes and decorated with amazing icing.
Perhaps there are those who make homemade cookies on the regular, so just making them doesn’t necessarily make this day special. In that case, this is a time to level up by creating new recipes for homemade cookies or altering recipes to make them your very own. Try adding unique ingredients from the herb garden to combine sweet with savory. Or implement special decorations like colored sprinkles or frosting that will bring out the very best in homemade cookies.
The sky’s the limit when it comes to National Homemade Cookie Day!
Share Homemade Cookies
Sure, homemade cookies are delicious to bake and then eat fresh out of the oven. But an even more beautiful way to celebrate is to brighten someone else’s by surprising them with their own homemade cookies. Become the “Homemade Cookie Fairy” and begin delivering bags or boxes filled with these delicious treats. Offer them to coworkers, neighbors, friends, family members, school teachers and just about anyone else!
Learn Fun Facts About Homemade Cookies
In celebration of the day, learn some fun facts and bits of trivia to share with friends and coworkers while promoting the benefits and enjoyment of National Homemade Cookie Day:
Cookie Monster’s cookies aren’t real cookies Cookie Monster, the character from the kids’ show, Sesame Street, often throws many cookies in his mouth. But they are actually painted rice cakes, which have a tendency to crumble well but aren’t damaging to the Muppets in the same way real cookies might be.
The world’s largest homemade cookie was over 100 feet wide Baked in 2003 and weighing over 400,000 pounds, this cookie was baked in Flat Rock, North Carolina and required the building of a special oven. The cookie baking project functioned as a promotional event to raise money for a Folk Artists’ Foundation museum. Now that’s one big cookie!
The word “cookie” comes from the Dutch language Settlers called little cakes by the term “koejkes”, which is simply a diminutive of the word cake.
Single women used to eat gingerbread cookies for marriage luck To improve their chances of finding a man to marry, English women used to eat gingerbread cookies, in the shape of men of course.
Support a Local Homemade Cookie Baker
Not feeling up to making your own homemade cookies? That’s okay! Plenty of people love baking and have even gone into the cottage industry of business by baking their own cakes, cupcakes and homemade cookies. Ask around or do an online search to find a homemade cookie baker in the local area and then put in a special order for National Homemade Cookie Day.
Host a Homemade Cookie Bake-off
Get together with a few friends, or grab some coworkers after the office closes, and arrange for a homemade cookie bake off challenge. If a large kitchen is available with several ovens, then perhaps they could all be made at the same time.
If not, choose a classic type of homemade cookie, like chocolate chip or oatmeal, and have several different people bake their best version home and bring them into work. Then, have a judging panel choose which homemade cookies are the winners in honor of National Homemade Cookie Day.
National Homemade Cookies Day FAQs
How long are homemade cookies good for?
Keep homemade cookies at room temperature for 2-3 weeks or in the freezer for 2-3 months.

The Health Benefits of High Fiber Oats
1. Improved Digestion
One of the primary benefits of consuming high fiber oats is their ability to promote healthy digestion. The dietary fiber found in oats helps regulate bowel movements, preventing constipation and promoting a healthy gut. This can reduce the risk of digestive disorders and ensure your digestive system functions smoothly.
2. Heart Health
High fiber oats are renowned for their heart-healthy properties. The soluble fiber in oats, known as beta-glucan, helps lower cholesterol levels by binding to cholesterol-rich bile acids in the intestines and removing them from the body. This can reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and support overall heart health.
3. Blood Sugar Control
For those managing diabetes or trying to maintain stable blood sugar levels, high fiber oats are a fantastic choice. The fiber content slows down the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates, preventing rapid spikes in blood sugar levels. This can help manage insulin sensitivity and provide sustained energy throughout the day.
4. Weight Management
Incorporating high fiber oats into your diet can aid in weight management. The fiber helps you feel fuller for longer, reducing overall calorie intake and curbing unhealthy snacking. By promoting satiety, high fiber oats can be an effective tool for those looking to achieve or maintain a healthy weight.
5. Nutrient-Rich
Pure Habit’s high fiber oats are not only rich in fiber but also packed with essential nutrients. Smoothies
Add a scoop of high fiber oats to your favorite smoothie for an extra dose of fiber and a creamy texture. This is an easy and delicious way to enhance the nutritional value of your smoothies.
Baking
Use high fiber oats in your baking recipes. They can be added to muffins, cookies, and bread to increase the fiber content and improve the nutritional profile of your baked goods.

How To Eat Clean On A Budget
Eating clean on a budget is all about making smart, healthy choices when it comes to the food you buy and prepare. It doesn’t have to be expensive or time-consuming to eat clean and nourish your body. With a little planning and creativity, you can create delicious, wholesome meals that won’t break the bank. Here are some tips to help you eat clean on a budget:
Plan your meals in advance: One of the easiest ways to save money on is to plan your meals in advance. This way, you can make a grocery list of the ingredients you need and stick to it when shopping. Planning your meals also helps you avoid impulse purchases and prevent food waste.
Shop in bulk: Buying in bulk can save you money on certain items, such as grains, nuts, seeds, and dried fruit. These items have a long shelf life and can be used in a variety of dishes, such as salads, soups, and grain bowls. Just be sure to store them properly to ensure they remain fresh.
Choose seasonal produce: In-season produce is typically cheaper and fresher than out-of-season produce. Plus, it tastes better too! Check out your local farmers market or sign up for a community-supported agriculture (CSA) program to get fresh, locally grown produce at a lower price.
Buy whole foods: Processed foods are often more expensive than whole foods. Choose whole, unprocessed foods like fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes whenever possible. These foods are packed with nutrients and tend to be less expensive than their processed counterparts.
Use your freezer: Frozen fruits and vegetables are often just as nutritious as fresh produce and can be a more budget-friendly option. They’re also convenient to have on hand for quick and easy meals. Just be sure to choose products that are frozen without added sugar or sodium.
Don’t be afraid to save leftovers: If you cook in bulk, you’ll have leftovers that can be repurposed into new meals. For example, you can turn leftover grilled chicken into a salad or quesadilla, or use leftover roast vegetables in a frittata or grain bowl.
Get creative with your protein sources: There are plenty of affordable protein sources beyond just meat. Legumes, such as beans, lentils, and chickpeas, are high in protein and can be used in a variety of dishes, from soups and stews to salads and veggie burgers. Nuts and seeds are also good sources of protein and can be added to oatmeal, yogurt, and smoothies.
Use spices and herbs: Adding spices and herbs to your meals can add flavor and nutrition without adding a lot of extra cost. Experiment with different spice blends and fresh herbs to give your dishes some extra pizzazz.
Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty: Instead of buying pre-cut and pre-washed produce, try buying whole fruits and vegetables and preparing them yourself. It may take a little extra time, but it can save you money in the long run.
Get creative with your meals: Eating clean doesn’t have to be boring. Try out new recipes and experiment with different ingredients to keep things interesting. You can also try meal prepping to make it easier to eat clean on a busy schedule.
By following these tips, you can eat clean and nourish your body without breaking the bank. Eating clean is all about making smart, healthy choices that support your overall well-being. With a little planning and creativity, you can create

Did you hear about the vegetarian who had a heart attack? Yeah, me neither. That's because studies have shown that vegetarians have a lower risk of heart disease than their meat-eating counterparts. In fact, according to Dr. Neal Barnard, a renowned physician and advocate for plant-based diets, "vegetarian and vegan diets can help prevent heart disease, and even reverse it in some cases."
So, why is a vegetarian diet so beneficial for heart health? Well, for starters, plant-based diets are typically lower in saturated and trans fats, which are known to raise cholesterol levels and increase the risk of heart disease. In addition, plant-based diets are rich in fiber, which can help lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.
Tumblr media
But don't just take my word for it. In his book "The Vegan Starter Kit," Dr. Barnard cites several studies that support the heart health benefits of vegetarian diets. For example, a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that "vegetarians had 24% lower mortality from ischemic heart disease than non-vegetarians." Another study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found that "vegetarian and vegan diets are associated with a significantly lower risk of ischemic heart disease."
But what does a heart-healthy vegetarian diet actually look like? Well, it's all about incorporating a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes into your diet. For example, you could start your day with a bowl of oatmeal topped with fresh berries and chopped nuts, have a salad with lots of leafy greens and colorful veggies for lunch, and enjoy a stir-fry with tofu and lots of veggies for dinner.
Of course, making the switch to a vegetarian diet can be challenging for some people. But Dr. Barnard offers plenty of tips and resources to help people make the transition. For example, he suggests starting with small steps, such as swapping out meat for plant-based proteins like beans, lentils, and tofu. He also recommends finding support from others who are also interested in plant-based eating, whether that's through online communities or local vegetarian and vegan groups.
And if you're looking for a little bit of humor to keep things light, here's a vegetarian joke for you: Why did the tomato turn red? Because it saw the salad dressing!
All jokes aside, the heart health benefits of a vegetarian diet are no laughing matter. So if you're interested in improving your heart health and reducing your risk of heart disease, why not give plant-based eating a try? With a little bit of creativity and some delicious vegetarian recipes, you just might find that you don't miss meat at all!

Some pro-tips from someone in northeastern usa with food sensory issues AND cooks for both a small army of picky eaters & folks with different health risks:
Frozen onions are pre-diced and very, very easy to add into things. Unless someone has an allergy, I toss a handful of frozen onions (and garlic) into most of the dishes I cook. In thicker sauces & soups especially, they're very easy to sneak in.
Most squashes can be pureed and mixed into sauce! I like to use butternut squash especially (very popular donation to the food pantry so we always end up with a bunch) to mix into my stovetop mac'n'cheese sauce! Also another dish that you can freeze, though I will say that cubed squash (pumpkin especially~) is also really, really good when roasted with bacon, or when mixed into seasonal risotto.
Cauliflower! Cauliflower is a miracle veggie to me! You can dice it, rice it, mash it, use it as an alternative to pizza dough, and from personal experience it is absolutely delicious when breaded and deep fried.
Cucumbers! They go great with mint, watermelon, and are easy to sneak into sandwiches!
Kale & spinach are some greens that always are fairly popular with the crowd. For kale I like to either fry it up with some bacon, chicken, and pecans or dice it really fine to mix into soups. Spinach is very similar to that, but both are also good for salads. Kale has kind of a bitter- very mild!- taste to it and a bit more crunch; spinach is a little more bland & a bit softer (slightly longer to chew). Kale is also a good base for pesto. (I had so much kale from my garden last year; I had to get creative.)
Tomatoes are a hit-and-miss for me, so I've been getting more creative with them. I usually take canned tomatoes (homemade or store bought are both really good) and mix them into Hamburger Helpers (I'm poor and they're yummy), puree them for my own quick pasta sauce or salsa. I also love the smell of stewed tomatoes with mac'n'cheese but hated the texture; I found a recipe online that incorporates bell pepper slices and a slow simmer. I make them every time together.
Corn is very versatile. I personally love to make homemade cornbread (no idea how old our family recipe is), grill it, boil it, broil it, mix it into soups... I know there are more ideas out there, but I haven't tried them all yet.
Celery is one of those veggies I still can't quite get into, but it's always been good for soup: chunks into chicken pot pie, beef vegetable, pureed into a chilled celery soup on hot summer days, or even as a key ingredient in a veggie stock for meals later on.
Frozen berries! I know this thread is about veggies, but fruits & veggies kind of go hand-in-hand with this for me. Frozen berries can easily be added to ice cream, smoothies, cookies, or made into sauces & dressings for your rice, salads, & roasted meats. A few weeks back I used one bag of frozen blueberries to make a sauce that I put on chicken thighs, rice, and the rest went into a salad dressing. Plus they can be added to muffins, cereals, oatmeal, grits if you're willing to give it a go (maple syrup adds a little something-something too~)
Apples! I love apples; I can never stop thinking about how good apples are. They are very crunchy as they are and are very yummy raw, or drizzled with caramel, honey, baked into pies, grilled with brown sugar & cinnamon... Some of my personal favorites though are recipes where I slice them thin and incorporate them into my salads & sandwiches. Apple slices with cheddar cheese, apple butter, and cucumber slices on a cracker is divine for a midday snack, or apple slices with turkey, brie, and a little bit of honey toasted together (good place for some romaine lettuce too). My younger brother loves to grill up some slices of sausage with kale, apple, chive & onion cream cheese on toasted pieces of baguette.
Canned pears, peaches, and pineapple are always another option you can fall back on. I'm sure it's nowhere as good as the original, but I like to make sticky rice with pears as a dessert sometimes, and I've found the full sized canned pears are also good for making into a compote. Pineapple slices always add a little bit to a roast ham, and I love to heat up my peach slices in the microwave with a little cinnamon. They make easy snacks, too.
If you're like me and you have a phobia of produce going bad before you can finish it, I'd do a little digging into what you know you like to see if you could preserve it in some way.
Canned foods are usually fairly cheap (rinse several times before cooking to remove excess sodium!) and will stay good for several years.
Frozen fruits and veggies are often cut up in advance, which I can say from experience can save a LOT of time, and you don't need to use an entire bag in one go. I usually just do a handful or so at a time. Many also come with seasoning and can be cooked in the microwave!
If you, like me, rely on a food pantry, or even if you have to shop bulk, and tend to end up with a lot of fresh produce you don't think you can eat, it's worth the effort to set a day aside (if you can!) to figure out ways you can preserve it. I often spend my Saturday afternoons canning, dehydrating, and/or freezing what I know we can't use in the next week. I usually don't have a lot of spoons when I get home from work during the week, so any time I can save for myself cooking later is much better. (You can also freeze fresh herbs, cheeses, and meat!)
Getting into the habit of eating healthier can be a challenge, but it's worth trying to experiment and finding what sticks. In my case, it was eating mac'n'cheese baked inside a pumpkin & having my entire world view shift on me. Maybe it'll be something as simple as eating an apple slice drizzled with honey, or trying a different cheese on some leafy greens. You just have to find what works for you, and be patient with it.
i mean this in the gentlest way possible: you need to eat vegetables. you need to become comfortable with doing so. i do not care if you are a picky eater because of autism (hi, i used to be this person!), you need to find at least some vegetables you can eat. find a different way to prepare them. chances are you would like a vegetable you hate if you prepared it in a stew or roasted it with seasoning or included it as an ingredient in a recipe. just. please start eating better. potatoes and corn are not sufficient vegetables for a healthy diet.

Crafting the Perfect Baby Food Plan for Your 3-Year-Old
At three years old, your child is growing rapidly, and their dietary needs are evolving to match their boundless energy and curiosity. This stage of development is critical, and providing a balanced baby food plan can help ensure they receive the essential nutrients needed to thrive. A thoughtful approach to their meals can support their physical growth, cognitive development, and overall health while fostering healthy eating habits for the future.
A well-rounded diet for a 3-year-old should incorporate proteins, carbohydrates, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. Proteins from sources like eggs, lentils, chicken, and tofu are crucial for muscle and tissue repair. Whole grains provide sustained energy, while fruits and vegetables like carrots, spinach, berries, and apples offer essential vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber. Dairy products such as milk, cheese, and yogurt contribute calcium for bone development, and healthy fats from avocados, nuts, and seeds support brain growth. Keeping your child hydrated with water, milk, and fresh juices is equally important.
Here’s a sample baby food plan to guide you:
Breakfast: Start the day with scrambled eggs and whole-grain toast topped with avocado or oatmeal mixed with fresh fruit and a touch of honey.
Morning Snack: Offer yogurt sprinkled with chia seeds or a handful of nuts with a banana for a nutritious pick-me-up.
Lunch: Serve grilled chicken or lentil soup with brown rice and steamed vegetables. Alternatively, try whole-grain pasta with a tomato-based sauce and a sprinkle of cheese.
Afternoon Snack: Pair apple slices with peanut butter or cucumber sticks with cheese for a balanced snack.
Dinner: Prepare baked fish with mashed sweet potatoes or a vegetable paratha served with yogurt.
Before Bed: Conclude the day with a glass of warm milk or a small bowl of fresh fruit.
Getting your child involved in meal preparation can make eating more enjoyable and foster a sense of independence. Use vibrant colors and fun shapes to keep their interest piqued. Stick to age-appropriate portions and minimize processed foods to maintain nutritional quality. Patience is key when introducing new foods; it may take several attempts for your little one to accept them.
Creative recipes can add variety to their diet. Try making mini vegetable pizzas on whole-grain bread, colorful fruit skewers, or homemade popsicles using blended fruits and yogurt. These fun options make mealtime more exciting while still being nutritious.
Superfoods are another fantastic addition to your child’s diet. Options like blueberries, avocado, chia seeds, and sweet potatoes are nutrient powerhouses that support immunity, digestion, and brain health. Including these in meals can elevate their nutritional value significantly.
Mealtime challenges like picky eating can be overcome with a positive approach. Create a calm dining environment, introduce new foods gradually, and avoid pressuring your child to eat. Focus on making meals an enjoyable experience rather than a chore.
By crafting a personalized baby food plan that combines wholesome ingredients, creative recipes, and a positive mealtime atmosphere, you can ensure your child receives the nutrition they need to grow and thrive. Establishing these habits early lays the foundation for a lifetime of health and wellness.

Discover the Health Benefits and Versatility of Cacao
Cacao is often called the "food of the gods" for its rich flavour, versatility, and incredible health benefits. Derived from the seeds of the cacao tree (Theobroma cacao), this superfood has been cherished for centuries, from ancient civilisations to modern health enthusiasts. Whether you're indulging in Cacao nibs, powder, or butter, cacao offers culinary possibilities and nutritional advantages.
At Grape Tree, we provide premium-quality cacao products to help you enjoy this remarkable superfood daily. Let’s explore everything you need to know about cacao—its history, health benefits, and creative ways to use it.
The History of Cacao
Cacao has a storied past that dates back thousands of years. The ancient Maya and Aztec civilisations revered cacao, using it in ceremonial drinks and as currency. They believed cacao was a gift from the gods, capable of providing physical and spiritual nourishment.
When cacao made its way to Europe in the 16th century, it was transformed into the sweetened chocolate we know today. However, in its raw, unprocessed form, cacao retains its purest essence and the most health benefits, making it a sought-after superfood in modern times.
Nutritional Profile of Cacao
Cacao is a nutritional powerhouse, packed with essential nutrients:
Rich in Antioxidants: Raw cacao is one of the richest sources of flavonoids, which help combat oxidative stress and support overall health.
High in Magnesium: Essential for muscle and nerve function, cacao is an excellent source of magnesium, promoting relaxation and energy production.
Iron-rich: Cacao is a plant-based source of iron, vital for carrying oxygen in the blood.
Mood-Boosting Compounds: Cacao contains serotonin, dopamine, and phenylethylamine, which can elevate mood and reduce stress.
Fibre Content: It supports digestion and promotes a healthy gut.

4. Supports Weight Management
Raw cacao can kerb cravings and provide a satisfying chocolate flavour without the added sugar and fat found in traditional chocolate.
5. Promotes Healthy Skin
The antioxidants in cacao protect the skin from free radical damage, promoting a healthy, glowing complexion.

Cocoa: Made from roasted cacao beans, it has a milder flavour but fewer nutrients due to heat processing.
