Looking at the villians they had for My Adventures with Superman,
They honestly picked the best choices they could for a Season 1 rogues gallery.
Think about it (way too much detail below):
They didn't want to dip too far into multiverse and multidimensional villians, outside of Mxyztplk to introduce the concept, so they couldn't pull out Ultraman or Superboy/man Prime (who needs a Crisis Event to even exist properly if they want to do him nicely and that's a whole other can of worms).
They couldn't introduce Kryptonite soon enough for Metallo or Conduit to be relevant, and Metallo also kinda needs Lexcorp to exist beforehand (unless they wanna go with the military origin version who doesn't need Lex).
Conduit also requires an intense murderous rivalry with Clark from Smallville, which how they have made Clark Kent in this iteration, wouldn't make sense. What would he be pissed over, Clark beating him at a chess tournament?!?
Bizarro also comes from Lex's machinations having been a failed clone he created.
Aliens are *not* a common thing known, so intergalactic villains like Darkseid, Lobo, Mongol, and Zod aren't ones to form as threats until Clark knows what Krypton even is, or at least has a vague kind of idea.
We also don't have STAR Labs (yet) and barely have an evil form of Cadmus Labs (sincw they kinds blend in with Task Force X)
Honestly on that front, they did great reworking to have Parasite and Intergang in here as threats, since their origins/threat levels are often tied to Darkseid. Pairing them with Silver Banshee and Ivo were smart in that regards.
And yeah, I can hear the complaints already about Banshee not being a Metahuman and Livewire not being a Shock Jock, but metahumans being a thing not originating from a hush hush experiment from the military (as Episode 9 suggests is happening with Leslie) wouldn't work with how they formed Jimmy's story arc.
On top of that, Silver Banshee was born of magic shenanigans, and introducing that weakness before his more famous one of glowy rock with no known helpful magical allies would have been a major misstep, because that would essentially leave Clark no way to counter and win. She could still mess around with magic angle later in, though, after getting a taste of the power via the tech. (And maybe her sparking a romance with Jimmy, eh?)
As for Livewire not being a Shock Jock, that requires the fact of Superman being previously established as a hero in Metropolis for a time for there to be news about him (and a prominent radio station in Metropolis for Leslie to get zappy-zapped by radio tower after getting fired), which wouldn't work since the show's story makes it clear that Lois and Jimmy are the first ones to encounter him. {Also going the influencer angle wouldn't make sense for her getting electric powers because how would she get zapped while uploading vids on YouTube? Wifi or 5G doesn't work like that.}
Therefore, blending them in with Waller's proto-Suicide Squad of criminals and Sam Lane's distrustful actions against Nemesis Omega all wrapped in a military/government jingoistic bow was a smart move to not make some major potholes for the purpose of story direction. And making them have powers from repurposed Kryptonian tech also equals the unspoken question of "how is Superman constantly getting his ass beat?"
The only other real "Superman" villians they would have room left to mess with would be Toyman, the Atomic Skull, Ultra-humanite, Titano, Chemo, Bloodsport, the Prankster, Volcana (who is barely a villian and is more a victim of circumstance), Mr. Zed, and Manchester Black (depending how they implement them). And we very well may see many of them in Season 2, along with some of the ones from above, now that Kryptonite and the Multiverse exists now and Brainiac and other Krypton survivors have been teased.
They did their best with what they had left to work with, if they wanted to give us the beautiful characterizations and story beats we got in the first place.
Anyway, that's my piece on the villians, why they chose the ones they did, and why they were tech based instead of their other origins, and what ones they could mess with in Season 2 maybe.
Thanks if you read this whole thing, you're a real one for hearing me out.

Love how over time the Flash’s powers went from running really fast to being connected to a cosmic force that is the source of motion and progress.

Conduit/Kenny Braverman would be such a fun villain for My Adventures with Superman. Imagine being a Supervillain who is like, "I literally couldn't give a shit about Superman. My beef is with Clark Kent and Clark Kent alone. I've known him since we were both babies and I'm gonna kill that guy." And it's this Clark:

DP X DC JON x DANNY
Okay. Im just gonna say it ...
We need Jon x Danny Fics. Please 🥺
I've been drowning in the DP/Batman fic (for 2+ yrs) and I get it, Bio-son, run away post vivisection, etc. The list goes on. But why aren't there any Jon/Danny? The lad is canonically gay. Sure Tim is great. I love the Brain dead fic. There's also the Dead on Main (Jason/Danny)
But for the Twin fics, why can't Danny Romance Jon.
Here is a list of my ideas:
- Summoning: His summoning works ONLY if you usea Half Human, Half Alien blood as a conduit. Sure Conner may work but he's a clone and therefore his bloodwork is a bit glitch.
-Demon twin is a Wingman: the emotionaly constipated and temperflaring twin is stumbling as he tries to set up Jon and Danny. Sure he can ask his siblings (Tim, since he got experience dating the same gender, or Dick since he humps almost anything that moves that can beat him up) but he's the son Of Batman and Talia Al Ghul. This should be a piece of cake. Right?
-Celebrity: After the events of Phantom planet, where Danny didn't end up with Sam, Lois Lane sets off to interview the Half ghost, bringing her apprentice/assistant/Son Jon since it was. Bring your teenager to work day. Sparks fly when they met.
-TV&Comic Idol: Danny is a Cartoon in the DC verse and Jon is a Comic series in the Phantom verse. They are each other's Idols and Sexual awakening.
-Lost Memories: When Jon disappeared in space he found himself in the infinite realms and started a life with Danny but was booted out (any reason) and his memories was locked up. Here come Danny searching the Infinite multiverse for the Jon that is the love of his life. Along the way, encountering different versions of Jon that for some reason fall for him too (briefly)
In any of you know any fics about this please tag or comment them.

DP x DC: Bacchae
So, the greek gods just exist in the DC universe, which has some interesting implications. So, Dionysus, greek god of wine, ritual madness, theater and frankly a lot of things beyond the scope of wine, he just straight up exists.
An interesting thing about him is that he's often referred to as "twice born" and sometimes is worshiped as a chthonic deity with ties to the underworld and resurrection
Hmmm... Twice born... Resurrection... Bisexual as hell...
Danny as an avatar of Dionysus
Not the god himself, more so a conduit for his power, much like Captain Marvel. He has been divinely touched and the powers of the god flow through him. Danny gains the ability to grow grape vines, and use them much the same as Poison Ivy could. Turning people into animals, and of course cause madness
The Bacchae details Dionysus's return to his birthplace of Thebes in disguise with his entourage of bacchants(followers/revelers) to punish the mistreatment of his mother and their refusal to acknowledge him as a god
Danny returns to his birthplace, Gotham. He is there with his friends to meet his birthmother and make his father acknowledge him. The problem?
Danny is the son of Harley Quinn and his father is the Joker, and the Joker doesn't like to be upstaged, his son or not...

These items are a bit more plot-related than something you'd want to use in combat. But I think they could be used in some very interesting ways by a DnD party to get information about a cult's deity, or perspective from a god. How far would a good party be willing to push though for the information they need?
Divine Bindings
Wondrous Item, very rare
“Two thick iron manacles whose chains are made of silver and gold. The manacles themselves have several divine runes and celestial language inscribed upon them.”
When these magical bindings are placed on a target they become restrained. You can then use an action to speak the command word causing the target to make a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, if they have a patron, extraplanar being, or god they worship, they become a conduit to that being. The being can hear what the target hears and speak through them. The target can survive having three questions answered through them. If any further questions are asked, each time the being speaks through the target, they gain one level of exhaustion. If the target succeeds on their Wisdom saving throw, they are immune to the effects of the bindings for the next 24 hours.
The bindings can be escaped from with a DC 20 Strength (Athletics) check or a DC 20 Dexterity check using thieves' tools.

Heroes & Villains The DC Animated Universe - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
Hawk & Dove
Hank and Don Hall were two brothers tasked by the mystical Lords of Chaos and Order to work as their conduits in the human realm.  The brothers were transformed into Hawk and Dove, both possessing greatly enhanced physical attributes, including super speed, strength and durability. Each were additionally able to tap into the collective sensations of peace and conflict.  Hawk could cause others to become lost in aggression and blinding fury; whereas Dove could bring about calm and a tempered quelling of anger.
Hawk and Dove were recruited in the Justice League following the Thanagarian invasion.  Wonder Woman asked the pair to accompany her on a mission to address a flare up in the conflict of the war-torn nation of Kaznia.  It turned out that Ares, the Greek god of war, had come to Kaznia with The Annihilator (a mystical suit of armor built by Hephaestus that was fueled by the hatred and aggression of mortals).  Ares had hoped the Annihilator would cause the two factions of Kaznia to tear each other apart in the great sport of war.
Hawk and Wonder Woman did their best to stop The Annihilator and minimize casualties, while Dove discovered the Annihilator’s weakness.  He was able to determine the armor would ostensively run out of fuel if the people in its vicinity stopped fighting.  Dove was able to convince those around them to throw down their arms and stood undefended and unwilling to fight in front of the approaching Annihilator.  The gambit proved successful and the armor powered down and became inert.
The waring factions of Kaznia agreed to a temporary cease fire and the Annihilator was confiscated by the Justice League for safe keeping. His plans dashed, an enraged Ares left promising to return and sew further chaos.
Hawk and Dove were voiced by actors Fred Savage and Jason Hervey respectively.  The two heroes first appeared in the premiere episode of  Justice League Unlimited, ‘Initiation.’

Animal Man: Buddy Baker and a manifestation of the Great Red Beast, modeled off Buddy's chimera animal form from the Vertigo run
One thing I wanted to do early on when developing the headverse was tie together the various systems of the DC multiverse closer together, kinda of inspired with what James Robinson was trying to do near the beginning of Earth-2, but got lost under later writers. Robinson explicitly tied Alan's powers to The Green, with Will Power acting more as a conduit than an abstract green goo energy source unto itself.
I always wanted to do something similar with the Red Lanterns being tied to The Red (or the Morphogenetic Field) and specifically a figure that ended being underutilized in Earth-2, The Great Red Beast.
So in canon, The Great Red Beast ended up just being a transformed Yelena Montez, trapped in that state after accessing The Red. Since its a parallel universe, any relationship between The Beast and The Butcher (Earth-1/Earth-0's Red Lantern Entity) is never explicated upon. Which, to be fair, there's no look into whether Earth-2's other Light Spectrum Avatars have equivalents to Ion, Adara, Nekron, or the Life Entity, but The Beast is so similar its counterpart that it's a little strange not to dig into.
This is all to say I want to take that canon and shift it a bit so that Avatars of the Red are, in a way, a different group of Red Lanterns. Red Lanterns on a cosmic level all exist as extensions of Atros becoming Atrocitus and manipulating the narrative to make himself THE Red Lantern through which all others become tools of his rage, even as Red Lantern stories have shown characters like Bleez, Rankorr, and even Dex-Starr becoming more self-aware and operating independently of Atros' will.
Buddy, Vixen, Beast Boy, and to a degree even Wildcat (Ted, Yelena, and Tommy) all kind of exist as possible examples of another way to exist as Red Lanterns, with Brother Blood being the counterpoint that wants to embrace Atrocitus and his discipline.
idk I haven't typed out a big lore dump on one of these posts in a while and wanted to get some thoughts out and collected.
tl;dr Animal Man is a Red Lantern in my au

that’s why i keep saying, if jay nakamura was an afghani refugee with a hijab, it would Occur To People that batman sowing discord in jon’s personal relationships and alluding to jay as a terrorist is directly tied to the editorial decision to have batman be the conduit for antibrown sentiment and post-9/11 grimdark fantasies. and people ate that shit UP! “oh batsy was just being cautious, you know how he is,” girl he was being RACIST. he been acting and being and performing racist acts and acts of hypersurveillance and general cop-like behavior since the writers chose him to drive their own collective trauma since 9/11. y’all forget that at one point, dc was making direct parallels between american soldiers going off to war post-9/11 to superheroes having a civilian identity by day while saving people at night (smallville, wb11, whitney fordman and clark kent).

This is the fifth part of my Howard the Duck story. The only part remaining is the wedding of Howard and Bev (the ideas i have for that are ones i'm really fond of). But we'll get to that later. For now, we have a dramatic story that features the implosion of the white house!
So Howard is successfully saved from the Zoo by his friends, and together they have to escape from LA! Because these non-conformists have earned the ire of the hollywood types, and they need to escape the cult of the staid, bland celebrities! Howard and his friends have to paint Hollywood red with absurdism and humanity! And just as they manage to escape from LA, we get the biggest twist of all: The All-Night Party have returned, and they need Howard to help them again!
You see, the remnants of B.E.S.T. (Bozos Eagerly Serving Tyrants) are still around, and they've successfully managed to get one of their accolytes elected President of the United States. Yes, Nurse Barbara, Rev. Joon Moon-Yuc, Werner Blowhard and The Supreme Soofi are all still around. And their newest acolyte, a washed up Hollywood star named…well, I can't get away with saying his name. But he did a movie with a chimpanzee, and he's super conservative. They managed to get him elected president, and the world is now in dire danger.
B.E.S.T. plans to harness the cosmic axis once again, and enslave the whole world to their bland values of obedience and sameness. They're going after Man-Thing's swamp (the key to the axis), and now Howard and his many allies have to unite to stop them. Howard, Bev, Paul, Winda, Lee and Claude have to team up with The All-Night Party, Le Beaver (who survived his trip down Niagara Falls, and doesn't want B.E.S.T. spreading to Canada), plus Jennifer Kale, Dakimh, Korrek and Man-Thing.
So Howard and his friends storm The White House in Washington, DC! They have to stop the president from enslaving the world in the name of B.E.S.T.! And while Howard's dealing with The President and his men in DC, Jennifer, Korrek and Man-Thing are fending off the troops of the United States Army in the Everglades! It's a fight for the Cosmos to remain free! To stop these despots from enslaving all of the known realities!
And although Howard and his friends do manage to save the Cosmos, the White House…well, it becomes the conduit for the cosmos. And it blows up with all of B.E.S.T. inside of it! If any of them survived, they've at least been banished to far distant dimensions, where they can't do anyone any harm. The universe is safe, and all thanks to one duck. Them, we'll end the comic with Beverly proposing to Howard. And their wedding will be the grand finale, and it'll be covered in an extended annual or something.

Ways I would readjust add to the forces (aka the Speed Force, Negative Speed Force, Sage Force, Strength Force, Still Force, and Forever Force) in DC Comics lore.
The Sage, Strength, Still, and Forever Forces are aspects of the Speed Force much like how the Negative Speed Force was artificially made from the Speed Force. In fact, the research of how the other forces were developed is what helped Eobard Thawne create the negative speed force.
The death of a conduit may lead to that conduit's image becoming that force's angel of death. This is a connection to my headcanon that Black Flash was created when Barry died in Crisis. So, if I were to make a comic run and involve some unnatural disruption with the forces, theres a chance I would bring back Psych but its not really him, but a version of his body that's the sage force. This would also imply the existence of the Negative Speed Force having a version of Eobard Thawne that is his own Black Flash, or I guess White Flash since its the reverse.
All of the force conduits can affect the multiverse in some way, with Strength Force conduits being able to interact with the very fabric of reality, Sage Force conduits being able to look into their variants' mind, Still Force conduits have the ability to create fixed outcomes, and Forever Force conduits being able to perceive every possible outcome. These things only happen when the conduits reach their maximum power.
Since the Speed Force is associated with lightning and the Strength Force is associated with earth, the other forces should have their own elements to control. The Sage Force gets fire based on how it enwraps selected conduits in flames. The Still Force controls ice as its whole thing is entropy which involves thermal energy of sorts (I can only recall so much from my college chemistry class). As for the forever force, its elemental power is just time since it is a very bare-boned concept of a force.

Incorrect Quotes- DC Comics Edition #3
*Wally dies in front of the Titans*
Dick: No....Wally, no! NOOOOOOOOO!
Vic: Why do you care?  Why do any of you care?  Are you forgetting that he’s a conduit of The Speed Force and he came back from a lot worse, including the universe reboot?  He’s gonna be back.
Dick: Well, yeah, but... you make it sound like death has no consequence.
Vic: It really doesn’t.  Almost all of us have died and come back.  You were dead for a few seconds to stop a bomb. Hell, Donna is on her third life.
Donna: Next time, I get a free sundae!

Chushacrawler - CR12 Aberration
Look at the powers my research gave me!
Tumblr media
Artwork by PALOWNAKAMURA on DeviantArt.
This is very much designed as a modern or futuristic scifi monster, although there's nothing about it that wouldn't work in a setting like Final Fantasy 14. A chushacrawler - taking its name from the Japanese word for "injection" - is the result of scientific research that involved kidnapping, studying, and draining the power of magic users to try to artificially recreate their abilities. Magitech augmentation, in other words. But the experimental augmentation didn't go so well, and this specimen (or perhaps scientist) no longer resembles or qualifies as a human.
Chushacrawler - CR 12
What's left of what apparently used to be a human is held together by mechanical fasteners and buzzing energy fields. Its head is intact but discolored, while its torso has been mostly replaced by machinery. It has a pair of huge, metal arms that are covered in spine-like electrical conduits and have massive claws at the ends. The machinery on its arms is surrounded by floating bubbles of energized fluid.

The wall of force can be moved up to 20 ft. in any direction, but cannot be reshaped or rotated. The wall of force cannot move into or through an object, creature, or ongoing spell effect that could not pass through a wall of force.

Dnd monsters explained Aboleth
Before the coming of the gods, Aboleths lurked in primordial oceans and underground lakes. They reached out with their minds and seized control of the burgeoning life-forms of the mortal realm, making those creatures their slaves. Their dominance made them like gods. Then the true gods appeared smashing the Aboleths empires and freeing their slaves.
Aboleths have never forgotten.
Aboleths have flawless memories. They pass on their knowledge and experience from generation to generation. Thus the injury of their defeat by the gods remains perfectly preserved in their minds.
Aboleths minds are treasure troves of ancient lore recalling moments from prehistory and intricately across eons. Few creatures can conceive of the extent of an Aboleth's plan.
Aboleths dwell in watery environments including ocean abysses deep lakes, and the Elemental Plane of Water. In these domains and the lands that adjoin them Aboleths are like gods demanding worship and obedience from their subjects. When they consume other creatures Aboleths add the knowledge and experiences of their prey to their eternal memories.
Aboleths use their telepathic powers to read the minds of creatures and know their desires. An Aboleth uses this knowledge to gain a creature's loyalty promising to fulfill such wants in exchange for obedience. Within its lair the Aboleth can further use its powers to override senses granting creatures such as its followers the illusion of promised rewards.
The Aboleths fall from power is written in stark clarity on their flawless memories for Aboleths never truly die. If an Aboleths body is destroyed its spirit returns to the Elemental Plane of Water where a new body coalesces for it over days or months.
Ultimately Aboleths dream of overthrowing the gods and regaining control of the world. Aboleths have had untold eons to plot and to prepare their plans for perfect execution.
Aboleth Lair:
Aboleths lair in subterranean lakes or the rocky depths of the ocean often surrounded by the ruins of an ancient fallen aboleth city. An Aboleth spends most of its time underwater surfacing occasionally to treat with visitors or deranged worshipers.
When fighting inside its lair an Aboleth can invoke the ambient magic to take lair actions. On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the Aboleth takes a lair action to cause 1 of the following effects:
1: The aboleth cast Phantasmal Force (no components required) on any number of creatures it can see within 60 feet of it. While maintaining concentration on this effect, the Aboleth can't take other lair actions. If a target succeeds on the saving throw (DC 14) or if the effect ends for it, the target is immune to the Aboleths Phantasmal Force lair action for the next 24 hours although such a creature can choose to be affected.
2: Pools of water within 90 feet of the Aboleth surge outward in a grasping tide. Any creature on the ground within 20 feet of such a pool must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or be pulled up to 20 feet into the water and knocked prone. The Aboleth can't use this lair action again until it has used a different one.
3: Water in the Aboleth's lair becomes a conduit for the creature's rage. The Aboleth can target any number of creatures it can see in such water within 90 feet of it. A target must make a DC14 Wisdom saving throw or take 2d6 psychic damage. The Aboleth can't use this lair action again until it has used a different one.
Regional Effects: The region containing an Aboleth's lair is warped by the creature's presence, which creates one or more of the following effects:
1: Underground surfaces within 1 mile of the Aboleth's lair are slimy and wet and are difficult terrain.
2: Water sources within 1 mile of the lair are supernaturally fouled. Enemies of the Aboleth that drink such water vomit it within minutes.
3: As an action the Aboleth can create an illusory image of itself within 1 mile of the lair. They copy can appear at any location the aboleth has seen before or in any location a creature charmed by the Aboled can currently see. Once created the image lasts for as long as the Aboleth maintains concentration as if concentrating on a spell. Although the image is intangible it looks sounds and can move like the Aboleth. The Aboleth can sense speak and use telepathy from the image's position as if present at that position. If the image takes any damage it disappears.
If the Aboleth dies the first 2 effects fade over the course of 3d10 days.
