★ skin care & the ascendant ★
★ aries rising
aries rising often has active, oily, or acne-prone skin due to mars’ influence. their skin may be prone to redness, inflammation, and occasional breakouts, especially under stress or during hormonal changes.
skincare tip: use calming products with anti-inflammatory ingredients like chamomile, green tea, or aloe vera. incorporate a salicylic acid cleanser and clay mask to control oil and reduce breakouts. finish with a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer.
★ mars aspecting the ascendant: oily, acne-prone, prone to redness or irritation
influence: mars’s fiery energy can lead to oilier, acne-prone skin that’s prone to redness, inflammation, and sensitivity. skin may react quickly to products or environmental changes and can be prone to breakouts during periods of stress or hormonal fluctuation.
skincare tips: use a salicylic acid or tea tree oil cleanser to control oil production and reduce breakouts. soothing ingredients, such as chamomile or green tea, can calm inflammation. a weekly clay mask is helpful for oil control, and a non-comedogenic moisturizer maintains balance without clogging pores.
★ taurus rising
taurus rising tends to have soft, clear skin, but they can struggle with oiliness, particularly in the t-zone. their skin may be resilient but prone to sensitivity with hormonal fluctuations.
skincare tip: balance oil production with a mild exfoliating cleanser containing glycolic acid. opt for hydrating serums with hyaluronic acid and a lightweight moisturizer that won’t clog pores. they may benefit from calming masks with ingredients like cucumber or rosewater to soothe the skin.
★ venus aspecting the ascendant: soft, balanced, beauty-focused, prone to hormonal changes
influence: venus adds softness and balance to the skin, often resulting in a smooth, well-toned complexion. however, venus-influenced skin can be sensitive to hormonal shifts and may break out during menstrual cycles.
skincare tips: maintain a gentle, hydrating skincare routine with a pH-balanced cleanser and a lightweight moisturizer. a rosewater toner or hyaluronic acid serum can keep skin plump and hydrated. consider products with evening primrose or tea tree oil to address hormonal breakouts as they arise.
★ gemini rising
gemini rising often has sensitive or combination skin that changes frequently, reflecting mercury’s influence on adaptability. their skin may react to environmental stress, leading to occasional dryness or breakouts.
skincare tip: maintain a simple, gentle skincare routine to avoid overstimulating the skin. use a fragrance-free cleanser and hydrating toner to balance the skin. avoid over-exfoliating, and opt for lightweight moisturizers to accommodate their combination skin.
★ mercury aspecting the ascendant: changeable, sensitive to stress, prone to inconsistencies
influence: mercury brings variability, so skin may appear inconsistent, with changes in texture, sensitivity, or breakouts that correlate with stress levels. mercury-affected skin can also be sensitive and reactive to environmental conditions.
skincare tips: keep a simple, adaptable skincare routine. a fragrance-free, gentle cleanser helps avoid irritation, while a lightweight moisturizer provides hydration without overwhelming the skin. consider adding a stress-relief serum or adaptogenic ingredients like reishi mushroom to calm skin during stressful periods.
★ cancer rising
cancer rising has delicate, reactive skin that often reflects emotional and hormonal changes. they may experience sensitivity, puffiness, or dryness, particularly around hormonal cycles.
skincare tip: use hydrating, gentle products that provide nourishment without irritation. milk or cream-based cleansers work well, along with soothing serums containing hyaluronic acid or ceramides. lymphatic facial massage can help reduce puffiness and promote circulation.
★ moon aspecting the ascendant: sensitive, reactive, prone to dryness
influence: the moon’s nurturing energy can make skin highly sensitive and reactive, particularly to hormonal and emotional changes. moon aspects often result in soft but easily irritated or dry skin that fluctuates with mood.
skincare tips: use gentle, hydrating products, such as a milk or cream-based cleanser, and a rich moisturizer with ingredients like hyaluronic acid. calming serums with chamomile or aloe can soothe the skin, especially during hormonal shifts. practice regular hydration to maintain balance.
★ leo rising
leo rising typically has radiant, warm skin with a natural glow. however, they may experience occasional sun sensitivity, dryness, or hormonal breakouts, particularly if they spend a lot of time in the sun.
skincare tip: protect the skin with a high-spf sunscreen daily, especially if sun exposure is frequent. incorporate hydrating serums with vitamin c for brightness, and add a gentle exfoliant to keep skin smooth. a weekly hydrating mask can enhance their natural glow.
★ sun aspecting the ascendant: vibrant, prone to sun sensitivity and pigmentation
influence: the sun brings vitality and warmth, often giving a natural glow to the skin. however, it may also make the skin more sensitive to the sun, prone to pigmentation, and reactive to environmental factors.
skincare tips: incorporate a daily high-spf sunscreen to protect against uv damage. products with antioxidants, like vitamin c or e, can help maintain brightness and prevent pigmentation. a hydrating serum will keep the skin looking radiant and healthy.
★ virgo rising
virgo rising often has sensitive, combination skin that may react to stress or environmental changes. they can experience occasional breakouts and uneven skin texture, particularly in times of heightened stress.
skincare tip: use a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser to prevent stripping natural oils, and incorporate a soothing toner with chamomile or calendula. niacinamide can help even skin texture and manage oil production. simplicity is key, so avoid complex routines that may irritate sensitive skin.
★ libra rising
libra rising typically has balanced, soft skin that is naturally beautiful but may be prone to hormonal changes, leading to periodic breakouts. venus’ influence brings a focus on skin appearance, so they’re often aware of any imperfections.

★ venus aspecting the ascendant: soft, balanced, beauty-focused, prone to hormonal changes

★ scorpio rising
scorpio rising often has intense, resilient skin but may be prone to acne or oily patches, especially around hormonal shifts. their skin can be sensitive to strong treatments, despite its durability.
skincare tip: use a deep-cleaning cleanser with salicylic acid to manage oil and prevent breakouts. a gentle clay mask can help reduce oil buildup, and soothing ingredients like aloe vera or tea tree oil can calm inflammation. avoid overly harsh exfoliants, as their skin can react strongly.
★ pluto aspecting the ascendant: intense, resilient, but prone to hormonal acne or hyperpigmentation
influence: pluto’s transformative energy often leads to resilient skin that’s capable of healing but can also be prone to deep, hormonal acne and hyperpigmentation. pluto-influenced skin may experience intense reactions to stress and can be affected by powerful hormonal shifts.
skincare tips: use a gentle, hormone-balancing cleanser with ingredients like salicylic acid to control breakouts. niacinamide and vitamin c serums can help reduce hyperpigmentation and even skin tone. regular exfoliation with ahas or bhas keeps pores clear, while a lightweight moisturizer balances hydration.
★ sagittarius rising
sagittarius rising often has vibrant, healthy skin but may struggle with oiliness, clogged pores, and occasional breakouts, especially from adventure or outdoor exposure. their skin may be prone to dryness or irritation from environmental factors.
skincare tip: incorporate a balancing cleanser with gentle exfoliants like lactic acid to clear pores. a hydrating, oil-free moisturizer works best to balance skin without clogging pores. they should always use sunscreen for outdoor activities to protect from uv exposure.
★ jupiter aspecting the ascendant: glowing, larger pores, oily, prone to breakouts
influence: jupiter’s expansive energy often gives a glowing complexion but can also result in oily skin and larger pores, making the skin prone to congestion and breakouts. the “abundance” of sebum may lead to shininess and clogged pores.
skincare tips: a mild exfoliating cleanser with glycolic or lactic acid can help minimize pores and control oil. use a clay mask once a week to manage excess sebum. a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer and mattifying products will reduce shine while keeping the skin hydrated and balanced.
★ capricorn rising
capricorn rising often has dry, mature, or sensitive skin, as saturn’s influence emphasizes structure and durability. they may be prone to dry patches, fine lines, or tightness, especially in harsh weather conditions.
skincare tip: focus on deep hydration with a rich moisturizer containing ceramides and hyaluronic acid to restore moisture. use a gentle, hydrating cleanser and avoid harsh exfoliants. consider products with peptides or squalane to promote elasticity and maintain a youthful appearance.
★ saturn aspecting the ascendant: dry, sensitive, prone to aging signs
influence: saturn’s restrictive energy can lead to dry, tight, or sensitive skin that’s prone to fine lines and aging signs. saturn-influenced skin may require careful maintenance to prevent dehydration and sensitivity to harsh weather conditions.
skincare tips: prioritize hydration with a rich, nourishing moisturizer containing ceramides and squalane. use a gentle, hydrating cleanser, and incorporate peptides or hyaluronic acid serums to maintain elasticity and moisture. a daily mineral sunscreen will help protect against premature aging.
★ aquarius rising
aquarius rising may have unique, sometimes unpredictable skin that can alternate between dry and oily. they may experience sudden breakouts or sensitivity, especially in reaction to environmental changes or stress.
skincare tip: use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser to prevent irritation and follow with a lightweight moisturizer for balance. ingredients like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide can help maintain hydration and calm sensitive skin. avoid products with unnecessary chemicals, as their skin may react to synthetic ingredients.
★ uranus aspecting the ascendant: unpredictable, prone to sudden breakouts or sensitivity
influence: uranus brings an unpredictable quality to the skin, making it prone to sudden changes, breakouts, or reactions. uranus-influenced skin may be sensitive to new products or environmental changes and can switch between dryness and oiliness.
skincare tips: keep routines simple and consistent, avoiding excessive changes. use a fragrance-free, hypoallergenic cleanser and lightweight moisturizer with calming ingredients, like chamomile or niacinamide. products with adaptogens can help manage sensitivity, and an anti-inflammatory serum can reduce unexpected irritation.
★ pisces rising
pisces rising often has delicate, sensitive skin that may react to allergens, fragrances, or environmental factors. they may experience dehydration, redness, or sensitivity to harsh ingredients.
skincare tip: stick to a minimal, hypoallergenic routine, using a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and lightweight moisturizer with soothing ingredients like aloe vera or oat extract. incorporating hydrating serums with hyaluronic acid can help maintain moisture. they should avoid overly complex products that may trigger reactions.

Skinzey's Tan Free - Green Tea Sandalwood Clay Mask is a skincare product that boasts several star ingredients such as green tea extract, sandalwood, kaolin clay, and multani mitti. These ingredients are known for their beneficial properties for the skin. Skinzey's Tan Free claims to be made from 100% organic ingredients and is suitable for all skin types. It is also free of silicones, sulfates, and parabens.
Let's take a closer look at the ingredients:
1. Green Tea Extract: Green tea is rich in antioxidants, which can help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe and calm the skin.
2. Sandalwood: Sandalwood is known for its soothing and cooling effects on the skin. It is often used to alleviate skin irritation, redness, and itching. It also has antibacterial properties that may help prevent acne.
3. Kaolin Clay: Kaolin clay is a gentle and mild clay that is often used in skincare products for its absorbent properties. It can help draw out impurities, excess oil, and toxins from the skin, leaving it feeling fresh and revitalized.
4. Multani Mitti (Fuller's Earth): Multani mitti is a natural clay that has been used for centuries in skincare. It is known for its ability to absorb excess oil and unclog pores, making it helpful for oily and acne-prone skin. It can also improve skin tone and texture.
The claim of Skinzey's Tan Free being 100% organic indicates that the product is formulated with natural ingredients. However, it's important to note that without specific certifications or regulatory standards, the term "organic" can vary in meaning and application.
Furthermore, Skinzey's Tan Free is stated to be suitable for all skin types, which suggests that it is designed to be gentle and non-irritating.
Lastly, the product is advertised as being free from silicones, sulfates, and parabens. Silicones are often used in skincare products to provide a smooth texture, while sulfates and parabens are common preservatives and foaming agents. Some people prefer to avoid these ingredients due to personal preferences or concerns about potential skin sensitivities or environmental impact.
It's important to keep in mind that individual experiences with skincare products can vary, and it's always a good idea to perform a patch test before using a new product extensively. Additionally, consulting with a dermatologist or skincare professional can provide personalized advice and recommendations based on your specific skin needs and concerns.
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use Skinzey's Tan Free - Green Tea Sandalwood Clay Mask for best results:
1. Start by cleansing your face: Gently wash your face with a mild cleanser to remove any dirt, oil, or makeup residue. Pat dry with a clean towel.
2. Prepare your skin: Before applying the mask, it's important to ensure your skin is ready to receive the benefits. Exfoliate gently if needed to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores.
3. Open the jar: Carefully open the jar of Skinzey's Tan Free - Green Tea Sandalwood Clay Mask. Take a moment to enjoy the soothing aroma of green tea and sandalwood.
4. Apply the mask: Using a clean brush or your fingertips, apply an even layer of the clay mask to your face, avoiding the delicate eye and lip areas. Make sure to cover your entire face or specific areas where you want to target tan removal.
5. Relax and wait: Sit back, relax, and let the mask work its magic! Leave the mask on for approximately 10-15 minutes or as per the instructions provided by Skinzey.
6. Rinse off: After the recommended time has passed, gently rinse off the mask with lukewarm water. Massage your skin in circular motions while rinsing to exfoliate and enhance the mask's benefits.
7. Pat dry and follow up: Gently pat your face dry with a clean towel. Follow up with your favorite toner, serum, and moisturizer to lock in hydration and maximize the results of the mask.
8. Repeat regularly: For optimal results, incorporate Skinzey's Tan Free - Green Tea Sandalwood Clay Mask into your skincare routine 1-2 times a week or as recommended by the brand. Consistency is key!
Remember, everyone's skin is unique, so it's important to perform a patch test before using any new product to ensure you don't have any adverse reactions. Enjoy the pampering session and revel in the refreshed, radiant skin that follows! ✨🌿

micro glow up part one⋆.ೃ࿔*:・🧁
in this post we'll be talking about habits and little ways in which u can improve ur health and appearance without doing anything too drastic. a micro-glow up to stay polished…💬🎀
DRY SHAMPOO ;
dry shampoo helps with smell and reducing oil and all in all just a rly super useful tool that i hope we're all taking advantage of! so to use it simply divide ur hair into sections and shake the canister before application.
make sure that u hold it at least 10-12 inches away from ur roots. and then just brush it out and voila. just get the dry shampoo that matches ur hair color. so for me i have black hair so i'd purchase a dry shampoo that is designed specifically for dark hair.
WRAP UR HAIR AT NIGHT ;
create a protective barrier around ur hair at night to prevent frizz. with things like silk wraps and bonnets etc. treat ur hair LIKE A BABY. be super gentle to it so it can be soft and moisturized. if ur hair is more coarse or thick use the dominican tubi wrap.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT SHAMPOO ;
so theres a difference between ur everyday shampoo and a CLARIFYING shampoo. a clarifying shampoo is simply more of a deep clean so if ur using a clarifying shampoo EVERY single day you'll find that ur hair is lowkey straw-like and thats not the move.
clarifying shampoo is a super deep cleanse for ur scalp and u shouldn't be using it every single day…💬🎀
furthermore using a scalp scrub once a week or two weeks to stimulate ur scalp is rly rly wonderful. to just kind of do a deep clean of ur scalp and stimulate blood flow which can also help hair growth.
IF YOU HAVE ACNE ;
i used to have bad acne so i think im qualified to talk EXTENSIVELY on this subject but i won't make this section of the post too lengthy but i think these tips are valuable if ur struggling with acne…💬🎀
♡ invest in a pimple popping tool kit
u can literally get these off of amazon and u can learn to use them via youtube but as long as u store them properly and use them properly u can get rid of whiteheads and black heads safely and most effectively.
when doing an extraction wash ur hands and the area that ur about to extract from to make sure u have a super clean base. also make sure to soften the skin with a warm washcloth before starting. i've found that it minimizes pain.
hot tip : warm water opens pores and cold water tightens pores which is why when doing an extraction its important to use warm water and when ur done wash with cold water…💬🎀
♡ use blotting papers if u have oily skin
♡ invest in adorable and effective pimple patches
THE IMPORTANCE OF FACE MASKS ;
make sure to understand ur skin type/skin concerns before committing to a specific face masks. for example if u have more oily skin use a clay mask once or twice a week, if u have dryer skin go for a hydrating face mask. i rly rly LOVE sheet masks.
ALL ABOUT BROWS ;
wash ur brows with a gentle cleanser and make sure to keep them groomed cuz it makes ur eyes look bigger and gives u a more rejuvenated look. plus it makes u look very clean. dont forget to wash ur brows because washing them stimulates growth + prevents ingrown and painful pimples within or around ur brows.
ALL ABOUT EARS ;
DONT OVERLOOK UR EARS. make sure to clean in and around ur ears. like when ur showering just take ur finger with a little bit of gentle cleanser and just clean the shell of ur ear, the lobe, behind ur ears etc. do this on a daily basis. it literally takes 2 seconds.
and to clean ur ears DONT use a cotton swab. ik it feels rly good sometimes but what it does is just push the wax back into ur brain or whatever so instead take a cotton ball and soak it in some warm water, hydrogen peroxide and mineral oil and just tilt ur head to the side <- so that the opening of ur ear is facing up and hold for about a minute and then tilt ur head back and let the fluid drain out.

You Give them Face Mask! 🧼
Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, Usopp, Buggy, Mihawk
Fluffy Fluff
Just felt like more Fluff Fluff rn 😌 Enjoy!
Luffy
Trying to get this man into a face mask is like trying to wash a puppy- A happy struggle and pain in the ass.
"Luffy please" You say with a sad eyes- He will fold after this and let you. However he doesn't sit still so you use a sheet mask that simply helps with oily skin.
"This smells nice" He will say as you have to bribe him with snacks to keep it on for 15 minutes.
"It's rose scented" You say and wear one yourself to keep him still with some gummy candies. Will have trouble sitting still and will start chatting and walking in circles as he waits.
Once it's over he rubs his shiny face and talks about how squeaky he sounds. Utterly destroying your work-
Sanji
Sanji is more then willing to indulge you. Picking out some mild scents and you do a peel off mask since he has deep pores.
"Wanna do the charcoal mask?" You offer which he accepts after finding the scent pleasant enough.
"Do people do these often?" He will flirt and talk about the curiosities in your self care. Once the mask is done he will complain about the tightness.
"That means it's ready to peel!!"
"AHHH! OW!!?" He yelps in surprise as you pull the mask off his face. His face bright red and raw from this so you add some water based moisturizer to his face. You show him the mask.
"That was in my face!?"
Will both be disgusted and fascinated by the amount of gunk pulled from his skin.
Zoro
His skin is fairly flawless which is honestly frustrating since he cares so little for his skin.
You offer the face mask anyway and he refuses for a while bit does eventually fold. You use a snail slime mask on him since it will keep him skin looking flawless.
"This smells funny..." He grumbles as he will lay there listening to you talk, Half asleep and waiting. Will open his eye occasionally and ask a few questions about your interest in this stuff.
You wipe it off and help him rince his face. Skin is pretty much glowing at this point and You stare in awe. "So pretty!"
"I'm going to go train now-" You scream at him in protest in trying to ruin his pretty face.
Usopp
Usopp is willing of course, since the ocean air drys his skin quite a lot. So you use a shea butter face mask and tap his skin with your fingers to help it soak in his rough skin.
"You know I once got a spa treatment from Mermaids like this-' He will spin his tales as You work. When you do rince off the mask you add some nice skin oils afterwards to his skin.
You rub a lot of oil in his skin and he will pause his stories as he judt enjoys the time. Will smell the jar you're using and a softness will run over his face in fondness.
"This smells like the stuff my mother used to use-" He will say with a smile. His skin looks shiny and golden by the time your done, making him look sexy- in his own words.
Will come back regularly to have you treat his skin and will even talk about stories with his mother from time to time.
Buggy
Grease paint wrecks havoc on one's skin Buggys especially since he wears it so much. Needs some detoxing clay mask then a aloe moisture one to replenish. If you're doing his face might as well deep condition his hair as well.
He does enjoy the attention and doing them since his face feels better. Secretly he actually has acne marks from his youth and some scars from before he ate a devil fruit.
"What was this one from?" You ask pointing to a light scar on his cheek.
"Hmm 10- Me and Shanks were trying to figure out blades better. Let's say I learned knives can bounce back at you-" He says amused and letting you work.
"The skin around your nose is dry" Buggy will frown, thinking you're about to insult him since even though he trust you the most his insecurities will win- till you carefully paint the mask on those areas and smile proudly.
"There we go, all better" You say and kiss his hand to go apply your own.
Will sit and listen to you read outloud or talk with him about show ideas as he lays there with the face mask.
"Can we do this every night?"
Mihawk
"No-" He will protest, his eyes narrowing as you offer the mask to him. However after enough begging and ever Perona joining in at pestering him he will fold.
Mihawk gets treated to a full spa day when this happens- A hydrating honey facemask on his skin, cucumbers on his eyes and even a hair mask in his hair to make it softer.
Perona is overjoyed as well as she cleans his nails and applies clear polish to make them shiny and nice! Grumbles the whole time silently and ends up Downing a bottle of wine.
"Do not get used to this-" He grumbles as he takes his wine and drinks from it as you and Perona work. He kinda looks like a spa mom-
Once done this man looks runway ready- His hair is much softer so sets lower, his skin flawless and even his beard looks nicer. Stares at you and Perona deadpanned and sighs-
"Thank you both for the nice gesture..."

this post will go over basic information like skin type and how to determine it as well as more in depth info about types of cleansers, moisturisers and sunscreen, how to choose and apply them. Whether you should incorporate toners, essences, serums, masks, or exfoliants into your skincare routine and what to look for in them. As well as some more general lifestyle tips and what kinds of products you should be using at your current age or consider getting in the future.
To determine skin type
Wash your face and let it air dry .
If it feels tight and itchy you have dry skin . You may also see fine lines or flakes on your skin .
If your skin is oily you’ll have more visible pores and your skin will be shiny . This skin type is usually prone to acne , black heads , and white heads .
If it feels tight in certain places or has large pores in some areas but not others. If you notice aspects of both skin types on different parts of your face. Congratulations you have combination skin .
If none of these apply to you and your face doesn’t feel oily or dry then you've got normal skin .
Some people view sensitive as a skin type , I personally don't. Sensitivity can be developed or be sensitive in combination with another skin type .
As you age your skin tends to become thinner and dryer.
cleanse
The types of cleansers
Micellar water - tiny oil molecules suspended in soft water which attract oil and dirt . Especially recommended for those with sensitive skin .
Foam - start out as gel or cream and lather to foam and removes all excess oil from the skin . Which is good for combination skin
Gel - similar to foam cleanser. Good for acne prone or oily skin
Lotion - because of their consistency they’re less stripping thus suitable for sensitive dry skin
Balm - if you wear a lot of makeup, especially if your makeup is waterproof this is for your . Rub the balm over your face . They also have hydrating benefits which makes them perfect for dry skin .
Oil Based - contrary to popular belief oily skin types can use oil cleansers without fear of side effects. They remove dirt without disturbing your skin barrier or drying out your skin .
Clay - draw out all excess oils and toxins from your skin . Not suitable for dry skin as it may be overly stripping but are perfect for sensitive oily or combination .
Wipes - requires no real explanation . You just wipe your skin with the little disposable cloth .
How to use them
wash your hands so you don’t transfer more germs onto your face , that would defeat the purpose of cleansing
Wet your face
Now rub the cleanser of choice between your hands . You only need a pea to a blueberry amount . Some will foam , others will cream , and then there are those that won’t really do anything.
Rub the cleanser gently in circular motions all over your face . Emphasis on the gentle part . Use your pointer and middle finger and imagine you’re washing someone else’s face .
You should do this for no more than a minute , any longer could be stripping to your skin
If your skin is super dry you can use a cleanser once a day so you don’t over strip your skin . cleanse with product at night to get rid of all the impurities picked up during the day and in the morning all you did was sleep in a clean room in a clean bed . That doesn’t mean don’t wash your face in the morning . You should still be using water to wash your face . Not just rinsing , actually wash your face .
If you don’t have this issue you can try double cleansing . This is when you cleanse first with an oil based cleanser then with a water based cleanser . We double cleanse because not all impurities are water soluble . Double cleansing helps to thoroughly cleanse your skin . This method works well if you wear a lot of thick , heavy makeup . Bear in mind that it would be too stripping to double cleanse every day , twice a day. if you really want to double cleanse every night and you’re hydrating your skin well afterwards there should be no problem .
Protect
After cleansing you need to protect your skin . During the day you protect it with sunscreen and during the night you use a moisturiser . I have really dry skin so I use a moisturiser in the morning as well .
A rule of thumb don’t mix your sunscreen and moisturiser ( or any of your skincare products ) layer them .
Sunscreen
There are two number values on the bottle PA and SPF.
SPF stands for sun protection factor, refers to how long protection lasts and protects you from uv rays that cause sunburn. Generally SPF 15 blocks 93% of UV rays and SPF 30 blocks about 97%. Spf that is too high isn’t good for your skin but ideally you want to use spf50 when going outdoors.
PA protects you from uv rays that accelerates aging. Here you want to focus on the number of plus signs on the bottle as they indicate the effectiveness of the product.
Even with sunscreen it’s still advised you stay out of direct sunlight for long periods of time. So wear a hat if you can’t avoid it .
Types of Sunscreen
Chemical - are absorbed into your skin and turn uv rays into energy before they can hurt your skin . Sensitive skin may want to stay away from this type as it could cause a bad reaction . Don’t rule chemical sunscreen out completely though. It may have been one bad brand or ingredient . Note this sunscreen needs to be applied first as it has to penetrate your skin .
Physical - sits on top of your skin and act like a shield from uv rays which means it needs to be applied last . Because they sit on your skin they’re thicker and tend to leave a cast so people with darker skin may prefer chemical sunscreen .
Powder and spray - is more of a reapplication than a primary sunscreen . The idea is you use your physical or chemical sunscreen and every two hours you reapply a powder or spray sunscreen .
How to use sunscreen
Cleanse
Dot a teaspoon amount of sunscreen all over your face (and body)
Gently massage it into your skin . I’ll say that again : Gently , gently massage
Reapply every two hours
If you wear makeup it’s best to apply physical sunscreen over makeup as you’ll have to do so anyway when you reapply .
Moisturiser
Types of moisturisers
Humectants - attract water and slow down evaporation usually comes in gel formulas . They absorb into the skin quickly making them best for oily skin types .
Emollients - fills the gaps between skin with hydrating oils and lipids . These have a light cream or lotion consistency . This type best for dry or combination skin .
Occlusives - seals in moisture and stops it from evaporating . They come in thick creams and balms . Perfect for dehydrated , dry , mature skin .
How to apply moisturiser
Cleanse face and apply chemical sunscreen if using
Then apply moisturiser , a pea to blueberry sized amount
Dab it all over your face
Soothe each up and across your face in circular motions
Again be very gentle using your middle and forefingers
These are the foundations of skincare. Consider the next sections only after you have these first three covered.
Treat
Between cleansing and protecting comes a treatment step. this can be with a toner , essence , serum , exfoliation, and masks . All of the above if your skin can handle it. Layer them from lightest to thickest consistency and exfoliate after cleansing.
Masks, toners, essences, and serums are infused with nutrients, antioxidants, and vitamins chosen to treat specific skin concern . I have a section on ingredients to treat skin concerns at the end. When comparing products look at the similarities and differences between their ingredient lists. The order or products is usually from highest to lowest concentration.
Remember an ingredient or product that someone else swears by may not work well for your skin . this step requires trail and error, time and money . Consistent cleansing, moisturiser and sunscreen should fade most concerns so don’t fret over a treatment if you can’t afford to.
If any product you have doesn’t work for you , don’t waste the product and throw it away . You could give it to a friend with a similar skin concern to see if it works better for them .
Toner
Watery consistency , the lightweight helping it absorb into the skin quickly . Applied with cotton pad after double cleansing to hydrate and restore the PH of skin .
If the toner is exfoliating put a couple drops on a cotton pad, don’t drown it, and pass the pad once across your face.
If the toner is hydrating put a couple dots on your palm and gently pat the toner into your skin. If you need more than one layer feel free to repeat this process no more than 7 times
Essence
As hydrating and fast absorbing but thicker than toners. However they're less concentrated than serums.
Application is the same as a hydrating toner but 7 layers would be excessive, 2 to 3 should be enough.
Serum
Usually comes in a dropper . Even if you’ve double cleansed it’s imperative that the dropper doesn’t touch your face to ensure bacteria won’t contaminate the dropper and by extension the serum . Once you’ve applied the serum gently massage the liquid into your skin .
Masks
Types of masks
Using a mask once or twice a week is beneficial but remember it’s not necessary . As long as you cleanse and protect you'll be fine
sheet
Works for all skin types . There are two variations of sheet masks . The first type is a cotton mask drenched in serum or essence . The second is a jelly-like sheet infused with ingredients . Sheet masks are extremely hydrating but the ingredients infused will determine the benefits .
Clay
If you have oily skin this one is for you . It’s a combination of water , clay , and minerals that determine the properties and absorb all excess oils from your skin . For this reason it’s best to stay away from this mask if your skin is already dry .
Charcoal
These masks are best used as spot treatments for breakouts as they help soothe inflammation . Charcoal helps remove excess oils as well .
Cream
This category is for wash off masks that don’t fit into the above categories . As previously stated the ingredients determine the benefits of a mask .
Overnight
As the name suggests you put it on before bed and it works while you’re asleep . What makes an overnight mask different from a night cream are the active ingredients .
Peel off
People with sensitive skin proceed with caution . This mask will literally peel the dead skin from your face . So sensitive skin types be careful . These have no active ingredients because they’re used for exfoliating than treating .
Exfoliate
This is when you remove dead skin cells. However it is not recommended if you have any kind of skin condition like acne, eczema, etc . The most important thing is that you cleanse and protect but exfoliation can remove dry dull skin and improve circulation
Types of exfoliation
Physical : sugar scrubs , clay masks , gommage peeling , dry brushing , sponges , and cloths rubbed onto the skin in circular motions
Chemicals: like AHAs ( alpha hydroxy acids ) that’ll break the bonds holding the dead skin onto your face or BHAs ( beta hydroxy acids ) . PHAs have larger particles and work best on thinner skin. LHA is a milder BHA perfect for acne prone skin .
Oily and dry skin types would benefit from physical exfoliation but if your skin is sensitive avoid rubbing into it harshly . To avoid irritation stick to a mild chemical exfoliant . AHAs followed by cleanser and moisturiser would be perfect for dry skin . if your skin is normal or combination you'll have to experiment with both chemical and physical exfoliants. A general rule is that chemical exfoliation is gentler and therefore better . You should never be too rough with your skin .

- 15
mild cleanser
spf50 sunscreen
Moisturiser
15 - 18
At this stage there’s no need to worry about premature ageing
but you might consider incorporating an acne treatment
Or a hydrating sheet mask twice a week
19 - 24
You may notice dark circles or eye bags that require an eye cream
And consider an exfoliant or vitamin c to brighten dull skin or prevent fine lines
25 - 30
You want to focus on hydrating your skin to keep it soft and supple
And incorporating anti aging into your skincare through antioxidants and damage preventing treatments
31 +
You may notice your skin begin to notice sagging, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation
Thus choose lifting and firming products, anti wrinkle treatments, and ingredients that fade dark spots
Sun protection and hydration are absolutely crucial at this stage
lifestyle habits to incorporate
Correct any vitamin deficiencies and hormonal imbalances
Make sure you do not overeat especially on processed carbs and sugars or under eat to the point of lacking essential nutrients
Be sure to drink enough water throughout the day, the golden rule is 8 glasses a day
You may need to adjust your skincare routine depending on the season eg. Cold dry winter air may leave your skin needing more hydrating products while sweating more in the summer may lead to acne
Keep a regular sleep schedule of 7-9 hours a night on a silk pillowcase as the reduced friction can help prevent fine lines and change your pillowcases once a week to prevent bacteria build up

lets talk skincare⋆.ೃ࿔*:・🎀
disclaimer i am NOT a dermatologist so to create this post i did LOTS of research and i'll link all of my sources at the end of the post. i just wanted to kind of put everything that i found in here so i hope its helpful 💕🗒️
HOW TO DETERMINE UR SKIN TYPE ;
wash ur face with a gentle cleanser, pat dry and wait for about 30 minutes. if ur skin appears shiny throughout then u have oily skin, if ur skin appears tight/flaky then u have dry skin.
if u notice a slight shine on your nose and forehead then you have normal skin. if you have a combination skin type, then the skin will get oily around the t-zone.
INGREDIENTS TO LOOK FOR ;
for skin with acne -> salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, sulfur and mandelic acid.
for dry skin -> lactic acid, hyaluronic acid, ceramides and glycerin.
for pigmented skin -> mandelic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C, and arbutin.
INGREDIENTS THAT U SHOULD NOT MIX ;
mixing retinol and vitamin C causes irritation, mixing vitamin C and glycolic acid results in over-exfoliation, mixing AHA and retinol causes extreme dryness.
INGREDIENTS THAT U SHOULD MIX ;
hyaluronic acid + ceramides = repairing skin barrier. niacinimide + salicylic acid = healing acne. retinol + niacinimide = collagen production.
GLOWY SKIN TIPS ;
use a cleansing balm to cleanse ur face to remove all the impurities from ur skin
use serums to hydrate ur skin
lather on moisturizer, dont put too much to the point where ur skin cannot produce its own oils, but you MUST moisturize
apply sunscreen everyday, not only on ur face but also on ur neck and hands
face masks 1-2x a week
get enough sleep, drink enough water, and steer clear of overly processed foods
SKINCARE DOESNT STOP AT UR CHIN ;
its important to take care of the skin on ur neck for SO many reasons because skincare doesnt stop at ur chin. ur neck reflects the first signs of aging, and its most susceptible to sun damage so show it some love!
use the same products that u use on ur face on ur neck also, moisturize ur neck and always apply sunscreen, lastly, use some retinol to build collagen.
HOW TO APPLY RETINOL ;
when applying retinol, use a pea sized amount. avoid application around ur eyes and the openings in ur nose, and use retinol in ur night skincare routine only.
HOW OFTEN TO USE SKINCARE ;
retinol should be used nightly (1-2x a week for beginners). hyaluronic acid should be used (2x a day). salicylic acid should be used (1-2x a week). sunscreen should be applied daily, no need to apply it at night and if u can, you should reapply it every 2-3 hours. vitamin C (1x a day in the morning).
SERUMS FOR UR SKIN-TYPE ;
for oily skin use -> salicylic acid, niacinimide and mandelic acid.
for dry skin use -> hyaluronic acid, ceramides and lactic acid.
for normal skin use -> vitamin C, glycolic acid, and retinol.
for aging skin use -> peptides, retinol and vitamin C.
for acne prone skin use -> salicylic acid, retinol, and niacinimde.
for combination skin use -> mandelic acid, niacinimide, and glycolic acid.
WHAT TYPE OF FACEMASK IS BEST FOR YOU ;
cream masks are good for all skin-types and it soothes and moisturizes. clay masks are good for oily or acne prone skin and it absorbs oil and controls shine. charcoal masks are good for oily or acne prone skin, and it deep cleanses and unclogs.
sheet masks are good for all skin-types, it nourishes and hydrates. enzyme masks are good for all skin-types and it gently exfoliates and brightens the skin. bubble masks are good for all skin-types and it hydrates and soothes.
gel masks are good for all skin-types and it provides a cooling effect. exfoliating masks are good for all skin-types BUT if u have sensitive skin then exfoliating masks are not for you. exfoliating masks remove dead skin cells and debris.
HOW TO LAYER UR SKINCARE ;
in the morning (cleanser + toner + hydrating serum + vitamin c + moisturizer + sunscreen) in the evening (double cleanse + toner + hydrating serum + retinol + moisturizer)

Facial cleansing products and body wash 🚿
Hi everyone! In my last post I talked about skin types, the different characteristics of each, and the recommended types of products. In today's mini - essay I'd like to talk about skin in general, the different methods of cleansing, specifically body wash products, and why your average store body cleanser is probably not the best option.
As you might already know, the approach to cleansing should be different depending on your skin type, but keeping yourself clean is an essential factor, no matter what kind of characteristics your skin has. One of the methods to cleanse is through peelings and exfoliation. They are excellent choices for people who have thick and greasy skin, or problems such as acne.
Obviously, you shouldn't use just any scrub on your face. There are special exfoliating products designed for facial care specifically, which contain smaller scrubbing molecules, while exfoliating products for the body are bigger and rougher. What peeling and exfoliating products provide is basically removing excess dead skin, unclogging pores, and making the skin much softer afterwards.
Note : Exfoliating and peeling procedures shouldn't be done on a daily basis. Once a week is good, since doing this more often can result in skin that is too sensitive and easily irritated.
The next type of cleansing products work through attraction of dirt to the product. They are usually applied with a brush. Here we can talk about clay masks (White clay, also called kaolin), algae extract, charcoal masks (That are in a paste-like form), and zinc oxide. This kind of cleansing is very effective, deep and thorough, because it removes the excess secretions off the skin, such as sweat and dirt.
About body wash products
People mostly believe that the more foam a gel or shampoo creates, the better. It might give the illusion of a strong cleansing product. This isn't exactly wrong, but ;
Even though products that produce a lot of foam have a high cleaning efficacy, they also remove the skin's natural hydration.
They are very powerful when it comes to cleansing power, but perhaps too powerful for people that have dry or sensitive skin. They are the most irritant. Not only that, but they aren't particularly beneficial for any skin type, although they can be tolerated better by oily skin, yet the issue is that even people with oily skin present the most oiliness on their face, not on their body.
Therefore, very foamy products indicate high cleansing power, which might be effective in cases when you are very dirty, but if you keep regular hygiene habits, these products might just end up drying your skin too much.
We can also conclude that products that don't foam as much are better when it comes to respecting the skin's natural barrier ; They clean less that products that foam a lot, but this "less" doesn't always mean worse ; Like I mentioned, depending on your situation, you might need a powerful, foaming cleanser, but with a normal hygiene and a good, consistent routine, it is better to stick to less foaming and less irritating products.
Product recomendations for skincare
Cleansing milk is excellent for mixed, normal or dry skin. It adapts very well to the skin's natural pH, it is not irritant nor invasive. It's a good choice for sensitive skin as well, due to its gentleness. In addition, it makes the skin soft and hydrated, without feeling too greasy. You might see that some cleansing milks have hydrating properties too.
Syndet cleansers, or combo cleansers that combine soap and syndet. They are gentle on the skin as well, and syndet cleansers contain no soap, being a good choice for dry and sensitive skin especially. (Oily skin would benefit more from a combo, since it needs soap for thorough cleanse)
Oat cleansers. Oats are natural cleansers, so it's a good choice if you want to cleanse your skin while keeping things more natural. It has calming properties, being effective against easily irritated, dry, and sensitive skin in general. Oat products can come as creams and facial sprays as well, being effective for treating chronic dryness problems, such as atopic dermatitis or itchiness. Besides cleaning, it also provides the skin with a protective layer, maintaining it nourished.
Other products that I have personally used :
Facial products
- Sensibio Gel moussant by Sesderma
>It's mostly aimed for sensitive skin, and I use it because it's very gentle, contains no soap or fragrance and doesn't dry my skin out. It removes makeup pretty well too.
- Clarins Soothing gentle foaming cleanser
> It's aimed for sensitive skin as well, and it works very well as a cleanser. I noticed that you need very little of it to fully wash your face, even if you're wearing a bit of makeup. The skin feels very nice afterwards, which is great.
For face cream I use Nivea Soft, hydrating intense and refreshing cream. I mostly have dry / mixed skin, and this cream's hydrating effects last for a very long time, like I apply it in the morning and the whole day I feel my skin being very nourished. It's an excellent product if you suffer from dry skin or dry spots.
For the body
I have personal experience using Le Petit Marseille products. I believe their products are sold in pharmacies for about 4-5$ (I have the body wash gel with almond milk scent, and when I tell you it smells HEAVENLY) and they have other scents as well, such as peach and orange.
Their body wash gels don't contain that many ingredients, guaranteeing less possibility for irritation by other components, smell very, very good, and are gentle on the skin. They cost a bit more than an average body wash, but it is an investment so worth it for your skin.
I have used body wash products from InterApothek as well. Their products are sold in pharmacies, and the price is about 3-4$ I believe. The ingredients are 96% natural, and the products are fully vegan. I personally like their pomegranate gel a lot, it smells very good. I think this is a Spanish company though, I'm not sure if they sell these abroad (but it's so worth buying!)
Thank you for reading!
