His eyes were green. That was the first thing Kaylee noticed. The second thing? Well, the second thing was something she would never tell anyone. Except, maybe, Mr. Tall Handsome Stranger with the emerald green eyes. She would happily tell him the second thing.

Kaylee blushed and stuck out a hand. The man took it, his soft fingers catching on her rough skin.

"I'm Kaylee."

"Nova." The man, Nova, smiled. "Cassian Nova Brown."

His eyes traveled down to the nuts in her hands then back to her, realization hitting him a moment too late that perhaps he could choke and die from those. While Elspeth had more than enough knowledge on the subject of death, Dante did not fancy himself being next on her table. The thought alone sent shivers down his spine. G-d forbid, he left his old man all alone so soon after his mawmaw’s demise. “Right.” he said, laughing lightly and giving her a nod - he’d understood perfectly where she was going. He reached for some more of the nuts, this time doing as he had been initially instructed and offered them to the creature before them. He didn’t care much for playing with rodents, but Elspeth seemed entertained so he gave it a try.  Dante turned to watch her, eyes warming at the reaction she got upon being called beautiful. The slight confusion in her own eyes as she looked back at him made him offer her a grin. Could never be too serious just in case it helped the situation. And she was quite beautiful, anyone could have seen that. “Yes, you are.” he said, raising a brow challenging her to rebuttal if she so dared. Dante rolled his eyes at her attempt and clicked his tongue. “I’d better keep my mouth shut, for the sake of our equally beautiful companionship. Friendship? Are we there yet, or do I have to wait for a couple more unexpected meetings in order to claim you?” he said teasingly, before pushing himself off the ground and offering a hand out to her. “Come. Let’s go find us some yummy yummy sandwiches. Oh! And maybe a coke. Do you like coke?”

elspeth’s head cocked, and she breathed a slight laugh at dante’s movement. it was hardly worth mentioning that the nuts weren’t meant for him, that they were treats for the fluffy little creatures taking up residency in the tree trunks. already, after two meetings, they were sure her and dante were destined to crash into each other’s lives in the strangest of ways—suspected sunstroke, over an affinity for peanuts. “you should really take off the shell,” they giggled, “i once had a patient who—” mid-sentence, they stopped. if dante thought the previous conversation was dark, talking about the tragic events of her workplace was a step too far. “nevermind. i’d just be careful.” they hesistated, looking back at dante open-mouthed and questioning. elspeth spent so long in the darkness that she wasn’t entirely sure how to react on the other side. “beautiful?” she repeated the word in a laugh, as if he had told a particularly funny joke, her head still tilted to one side. she had never considered herself to be beautiful. back home, it was the blonde, tall, lean buckle bunnies that got all the attention. “i don’t know about that. keeping the sun off the skin does well for it, maybe that’s what you’re seeing.” suddenly she was sheepish, looking down at the ground, picking at the shell of a fresh peanut. “i would really like some lunch.”

I am so sorry but Remus John Lupin was not a sex god. Bro had never even seen a dick until Sirius. He was genuinely a little bit afraid of it the first time (it’s okay, though, because Sirius was very sweet and patient, of course). He thought people kissing in books was wild and sexual. He turned into a tomato and hid his face whenever there was a kiss in movies. He took things so slowly with Sirius that Sirius had to ask if he ever wanted to have it or if he was asexual or something. Then, once he got a taste, he became the most insatiable thing ever, practically begging for it every night.
