made a lil house in minecraft
#it is modded (the fairy lights and furniture are not vanilla)#and i did follow a youtube tutorial though i edited some parts#but this isn't a cherry grove lmao this is a plains#i added the trees and petals and. pretty much everything that's not normal plains stuff#hid lighting under the moss carpets so it's bright and there's no spawns but i don't need to ruin the Vibe with torches#the lake nearby is only separated from the ocean by a small beach#so i'm gonna dig a canal to connect them and decorate and possibly release the axolotls i found into the lake#one of the mods lets you have candles on lilypads so i'm stoked for that#ALSO. by the bedroom. that's my mine entrance#i literally spent over an hour and over 4 stacks of cherry logs making it (and drowned twice)#it's stripped cherry and birch planks all the way down to -53#with powdered snow on one side and a soul sand water elevator on the other#i literally haven't even mined yet or even carved out an area to start mining#i just made the shafts. and it took over an hour and two deaths gjfhdhshs#also powdered snow + carpet is my new favorite way of breaking falls thanks youtube#you don't fall into the snow bc of the carpet but it still breaks your fall and you take no damage!#and since it's under carpet it looks cute too#you just have to be careful when using a powdered snow drop next to a water elevator 😔#bc water will wash away the snow... happened to me twice 😭#thankfully i got like 7 buckets of the stuff so i was fine#rey rambles#minecraft#anyway cherry wood was the best thing they've ever added to minecraft i am SUCH a pink bitch and this is perfect#modded pink woods never quite captured the Vibe the way vanilla cherry does

one day i dream of owning a second house that i will rent for an actually reasonable price (say $400 a month? $500 a month?) and, unbeknownst to the renter, when they leave and any damages/cleaning get taken care of, every dollar they paid in rent minus said cleaning/damages gets returned to them in a lump sum. i just keep doing this forever.
#dated a girl once whose dad rented out her childhood home#during the first year we dated the current tenant left and I helped fix holes in the walls and replaced the carpet#he found another tenant‚ very kind looking family‚ husband and wife with one kid‚ very polite‚ seemed very put together#by the end of me dating her that tenant caused her dad so much hell#big unexplained hole in the ceiling‚ three dogs he didn't approve of but they seemed mild mannered every time he visited so—#—he fussed about it the first time and let it go after; when the tenant eventually left‚ the carpet was so full of fleas#dozens of fleas crawling on your ankles and calfs in the first few steps in#water damage on the ceiling in another room and down the wall looked like textbook burst water pipe in the walls—#—but absolutely no pipe in those areas nor any leaks from the existing pipe as far as we could tell‚#and that's including looking for traveling drips#these tags have been a large digression from the original post#but i think of them any time i hear friends/family mentioning renting#or when i think of my dream described here in the post#it's like .. when you rent‚ your landlords are garbage and when you rent to others your tenants are garbage

that's twice in what? a week? that i've committed some incomprehensible act of clumsiness and spilled my drink all over the floor.
rather than saying something mean i'll say this: i don't think i'll ever have patience with myself when it comes to being clumsy
#and i mean hell. the burns i got from Being Clumsy a few weeks ago are still. fucking nasty#i'm lucky as shit that it turns out i still have feeling in the finger that took the worst of it#it genuinely seemed like i had nerve damage for a while there#and i'm also lucky that it was only water i spilled right now. thankfully water doesn't stain. at least for my carpet#i've never had a good sense of my body in space and how to move it without bumping into things#and i've never not been disgusted with myself for it#at least my reflexes are fast enough now that i caught my glass before that could hit the floor too#the loud noise of it falling probably would've sent me into meltdown#one's been lingering like a singular stormcloud on the horizon all damn day#(probably because i had laser yesterday and am. itchy.)#personal

[ ! ] [Vent Incoming] [ ! ]
So currently stuck in the funny conundrum called "You live in the basement and the pipes above have decided it's going to rain randomly" so I'm not having a good time. Current best guess as to why this is happening is because the above toilet seal is borked so water is somehow getting past it somehow for some reason, (Shower right by it sometimes has water get out and flow right where the toilet is)
Worst part? The water problem is fine until it isn't (again probably water getting out of the shower via curtain not being open or etc) so I go several days without having this shit happen, then whoops! puddle. Hopefully we can fix the problem soon because I don't know how many more times I can clean my soaked carpet and sanitize my stuff.
#Vent#Leak is in the dead center of my room so luckily it just soaks the carpet and maybe splashes onto nearby furniture each time#If this is just the seal though things should be pretty easy to fix it'll take 4 or so hours sure but hey no water is no water#I now understand a mere fraction of the horrors of water damage#This is time consuming and suuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks diiiiiiiiiiiiick and baaaaaaaalllls
