godddd i got back to my apartment in [college town]™️ and our AC is very broken (thermostat set to 70, but it’s actually 80 degrees). as a result the electric bill for this month is super high

it wouldn’t have been on in the first place if my roommate wasn’t subleasing, but apparently the guy subleasing just??? didn’t bring up that anything was wrong???

i’m fairly sure it’s been broken for the whole month, too, because we used 350 kWh last july and a whopping 1180 kWh this july

#the refrigerant line insulation is broken and iced over and the drain pan is FULL of water #like. FLOODED full of water bc the carpet is slightly damp #AND THE LANDLORD DOESN’T MAINTAIN THE OUTSIDE HVAC UNITS AT ALL #the fins are sooooo dirty and damaged :’)#tempted to pull out my energy management textbook and say holy shit dude get your shit together #the people renting the apartments pay the electric bill so YOU don’t directly see it but it’s SOOO INEFFICIENT and wastes money and energy!#m speaks
