Randomly thought about how anime dubs in Sweden has either had 4 people doing every single voice and releasing the episodes on VHS (they're cringy but I also appreciate the work they did because they wanted to bring animes over here and TV refused to air it, so they did what they could), then in the 90s when they finally started airing animes on TV they only dubbed a season or two, and then came Cardcaptor Sakura and they decided to not even dub it and air it in japanese with swedish subtitles.

Carmen and Antonio were actually closer than Gray and Carmen were. Let me explain [beams you to my mind palace]
I think that Antonio saw Carmen like a little sister. She reminded him of his little sister back home and how she loved to play pranks and giggle and tease him.
The first time he heard Carmen laugh so hard she snorted he cried in his bed when he was sure everyone else was asleep because she reminded him of the family he left behind and when he woke up the next morning Carmen was curled up at the foot of his bed and he had another blanket on top of him
He taught her how to cook (well, mainly how to eat and annoy people in the kitchen) and she taught him how to dance and sing
He taught her how to deal with panic attacks and anxiety and she taught him how to pull yourself out of the depths of depression
She taught him how to repair clothes and he taught her how to do her hair so it would stop falling in her eyes
The first time he hugged her really tight they both cried. Carmen whispered that she thought of him as a brother and he started crying like a baby and kissed her forehead and whispered “Eres como mi hermana. Mi hermana menor. oh, hermanita...” (you are like my sister. my baby sister. oh, baby sister...). Ever since then he’s called her hermanita
When she ran away he cried for hours, Jean-Paul held him and told him it was going to be okay. She just wasn’t who he thought she was. It only made him cry harder
When he saw her in Boston and she threw him overboard he thought that he had really lost his sister. That someone else had poisoned her against him and everyone else. But then she threw a life preserver over to him and he had time to think “maybe she’s still in there. Maybe I just need to find her.” but he never did
I think he learned to love her again. Not Black Sheep, but Carmen. She was there for the grand opening of their food truck. Think when he saw her he started bawling and ran to hug her. Think he knocked her over and started kissing her all over her face while saying “hermanita” over and over again. Think she cried, too, just absolutely sobbed her eyes out
Jean-Paul came over and Antonio just pulled him into the hug. They probably took a picture outside the food truck that day that Antonio had framed. Carmen keeps a smaller version of the picture in her wallet? Or maybe her coat pocket.
Anyways that’s it. Just think about it guys

Thinking some fandom thoughts and then about ORV's portrayal of an author-character-reader relationship with the story and realising how....lacking at times the whole death of the author perspective on media can be.
(Turned out to be long and rambly so I put it under a cut. If you like death of the author, probably not for your worldview? Also, beware major ORV spoilers if you care about that)
Like, perhaps I'm misinterpreting something here, but in ORV, we had these three characters plus an entire system that gave us a look into the relationship between author/reader/character. And focusing on the Han Sooyoung, Kim Dokja, and Yoo Joonghyuk dynamic, I realise that none of them really died. Pushing asides Joonghyuk and Dokja for the moment (as I am talking about death of the author), we have Han Sooyoung whose consciousness faded after finishing Ways of Survival.
However, I don't know if we can really call that death of the author, really. Because Sooyoung's whole purpose in writing ORV, her authorial intention, was to save Kim Dokja's life...which she DID. And even after the story left her hands, her intentions were imprinted into the story itself. Yes, Dokja realised that the system was lenient to him because of (spoiler alert) his status as the OD. But at the same time, I think that Han Sooyoung's authorial intent to keep Dokja alive with WoS can also be taken as a factor in the system's leniency towards our reader.
And just jumping from that back to my original point, while death of the author IS fun and can be awesome for reinterpreting stories that the author may have intended as problematic (to our modern standards, at least), to separate the actual story itself from its creator seems just....a tad disrespectful to the author.
Or maybe disrespectful isn't the right word. Like, say, even if said author is objectively the worst of humans, there remains the fact that the story in essence has part of them embedded into it. It doesn't make sense, at least to me, to only give "morally okay" writers the allowance of people who put a part of themselves in their works. Any writer, even those who are writing for money imo, can't help but put part of their own selves into their story...and to separate the story from the author just because we hate the author or hate their beliefs seems a bit counter-productive. You can't just say, after all, that this author's vulnerability in their writing is okay because it's Correct but this other guy's vulnerability should be ignored because it's chalk full of Problematic Content.
But again, that's not to justify authors you dislike or the deeply wrong messages implied in their works. Especially those that could easily be shooed away by employing death of the author. But I think I'd consider fanfic or analyses that ignore authorial intent and their message to be something...new entirely? (Best way I can say it is something something death of an author employed to help the reader create their own narrative inspired by someone else's story rather than it being used to ignore author intent and claim our interpretation is what canon actually meant).
I think there's a saying in music as well as writing that you could play the same exact score or write the same story, it's just that things will come out different depending on the player or writer. (That's not a perfect comparison because the player/musician who WROTE the score could be considered a reader/author relationship...the point is more that the same thing will look different in the hands of different people. And that just as the reader will interpret something in their own way when reading/re-reading (another ORV reference), the author also has placed in their own interpretation and intent in that own work...which should at worst be respected because they DID make that content (and then we proceed to brutally revise it to make something we like better xD) or at best be taken as "word of god" for lack of a better term)
Not sure if any of this makes sense, and I definitely don't have any factual evidence to back up this opinion, but it was just something I was thinking of.
TL:dR? Death of the author is FUN and actually pretty cool but I think the things coming out of it are new(ish) things/works entirely, and og author's beliefs/intentions are important to consider for that text they wrote in of itself.

Her boyfriend is 26… and he started dating her when she was 18 very very concerning
Eh I thought she was 23 but I checked and she really is 26. I knew that Daisy's is 26 and in fact I immediately thought " 2 years and D will be pregnant" Phoebe preceded her.
After their mom left they are without a strong figure, I think many things would have gone differently :( I don't think this relationship will last very long, I hope at least he's not like louis biological father

Two cases of giant cell arteritis following ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccination – complication or coincidence? by Shirish Dubey in Journal of Clinical and Medical Images, Case Reports (JCMICR)
Tumblr media
Case 1
This 66 years old woman had the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine on 25 February 2021 and about 6 hours later, she started to get pain in the right side of her head. She also had flu-like symptoms which lasted a couple of days, but these settled down whilst the headaches persisted. She also developed scalp tenderness and obvious swelling of possibly frontal branch of right temporal artery (see figure 1). She did not develop any jaw claudication, visual or systemic symptoms. She was seen in the out of hours GP clinic on 29 of February 2021 and was started on Prednisolone 40 mg daily with resolution of symptoms in a few days. Her blood tests in February 2021 showed rise in CRP to 16.8 mg/L (NR 0-5) compared to December 2020 value of 3.3. Ultrasound (US) showed normal appearances in the temporal or axillary arteries, although this was delayed 2 weeks post corticosteroid (CS) therapy. Her visible temporofrontal abnormalities had disappeared within a few days of treatment. CT scan head with venogram was normal and treatment for GCA was continued.

Case 2
This is an extremely fit 70 year old gamekeeper. He had the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine on 27 February 2021 and from next day he started getting bad right frontotemporal headaches. He also had pain in the right eye and developed discomfort on chewing. He then developed similar symptoms on the other side and also bilateral scalp tenderness. He did not have any polymyalgic or systemic symptoms. Blood tests showed mild rise in inflammatory markers with CRP 25.5 mg/L (NR 0-5) and ESR 38 mm/hr. Ophthalmology assessment was normal, he was started on oral Prednisolone at 60 mg daily and referred to rheumatology. Although his rheumatology assessment was only possible 2 weeks after initiation of CS, temporal artery US showed a definite halo on the frontal branch of right temporal artery as well as possible halo on the left frontal branch. He had an excellent response to CS, and his inflammatory markers returned to normal.

Discussion
Headache is a very common adverse event following Covid-19 vaccination with other common side-effects being fatigue, myalgia, arthralgia, nausea and diarrhoea [1]. Other complications include vaccine induced thrombosis and thrombocytopenia [2] and rare reports of transverse myelitis [3]. Other groups have reported series of GCA cases following influenza vaccination [4,5] and increased incidence of GCA has been described following varicella zoster vaccination [6]. In this study, the likelihood of developing GCA was ~2.7 times compared to unvaccinated people following vaccination for varicella.
We believe that this is the first published report of GCA following Covid-19 vaccination. Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority (MHRA) has received a number of yellow card reports for GCA following Covid-19 vaccination [7] with 59 cases being reported after ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine and 5 cases after BNT162b2 vaccine. The first round of vaccination in UK has seen these 2 vaccines being commonly deployed with millions of people vaccinated, hence this would be considered a rare adverse event. The large COVID symptom study also found ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine to be more immunogenic compared to BNT162b2 vaccine [1].
In this series, it is possible that there had already been immune activation and these patients would have developed GCA irrespective of vaccination. In the first case, GCA is not histologically proven as the case presented to our department only two weeks after the initiation of corticosteroids. We did consider doing a temporal artery biopsy, however, we felt that the likely benefit was small, the window of opportunity for a biopsy was very short and the risks with Covid-19 being widely prevalent in the community were too high. The convincing history, inflamed temporal vessel post vaccination and normal CT head with venogram were consistent with clinical diagnosis of GCA. In 2nd case, GCA was ultrasound proven although again, we did not request a biopsy.
The etiopathogenesis of vasculitic inflammation is unknown. But it is conceivable that the Chimpanzee adenovirus antigen used as an adjuvant in ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine might induce the immune mechanism leading to more widespread inflammation [4]. Our hypothesis is that there had been possible abnormal immunological activation with vaccine-related antigens promoting antibody development and immune complex deposition causing attendant inflammatory response leading to inflammation in the blood vessels. Hyperactivation of the immune system secondary to cross-reactivity and molecular mimicry trigger autoimmune disorders [8]. The presence of obvious triggers may denote a different spectrum, and more research is needed to understand this association and its consequences.
In conclusion, these cases illustrate the need for heightened vigilance and importance of further research exploring the links between vaccination and large vessel vasculitis in terms of association, pathogenesis and outcomes.
Key messages
Vaccination could induce vasculitis such as giant cell arteritis and increased vigilance is necessary.
