you did your best to ignore the look in people’s eyes when they saw you in the paddock. after all, what was a driver’s ex girlfriend doing here? to be fair, you didn’t even know yourself, but he asked you to come and for a reason that is still foreign to you, you said yes. because who could say no to him?

it felt weird tho, coming here alone and supporting someone else, it was weird to you. especially because your ex boyfriend was here with the girl he cheated on you with. no wonder everyone was looking at you. but you didn’t care, you knew why you were here, and charles wasn’t going to ruin this moment.

"y/n!" a familiar voice made you sigh in relief, it was your friend, lily. she greeted you with her signature smile and hugged you tightly. "i haven’t seen you in such a long time." she took a step back and you smiled at her. you loved this tiny woman so much, she was a huge support for you during the breakup and even now. "i missed you too! where is alex?" you asked, your friend’s boyfriend not in sight which was weird because these two were tied at the hip. "doing interviews with logan. but let’s not talk about boys, how are you?" you two linked arms and walked through the paddock. "i’m fine actually, it’s weird but i think i’m moving on." you smiled and looked at the sky, knowing exactly why you were moving on so quickly. "i’m happy then." she smiled back but it dropped away from her face quickly, when she saw something in your way. when you followed her gaze you chest tightened when you saw charles and his girlfriend. when she saw you she immediately jumped in charles’s arms to kiss him, which caught him off guard and annoyed him.

an arm on your shoulder finally snapped you out of it, when you looked on your right to see who suddenly appeared next to you, you saw him. and all your sorrow immediately disappeared like rain when the sun is shining.

"hi, beautiful." he said, and you couldn’t help but smile.

Upon first hearing of it from Mahiru, unsurprisingly, Haruka had no idea what pocky was. He tilted his head towards the girl, mumbling out a ‘hm?’ as she rambled on about how romantic it was. It was no surprise that even in prison Mahiru would care about such things, since on valentines she had somehow roped everyone into baking cookies, but it seemed to fly directly over Haruka’s head as he listened.

Mahiru giggled. “It’s like a challenge- two people eat it at the same time.” She pulled a piece of the candy out of the box she had been fiddling with this whole time as she spoke, twirling it between her fingers before holding it out as example. “Whoever breaks off first loses. Cute, is it not?”

Haruka glanced up at the Pocky in her hand, confusion still evident in his eyes. “But.. what if nobody breaks off…?”

You should have known it would come to this.

Mahiru grinned, and from the corner of your eye you could see Shidou shaking his head slightly as she smiled at the poor boy. “Then they kiss~!” Mahiru’s cheery voice spoke, despite the way Haruka flushed red, turning to hide his face in his hands, face practically steaming.

“O- Oh…” He mumbled, voice muffled by the way he covered it with his hands. He tried desperately to look away, his ears and neck now turning pink in addition to his entire face. Mahiru smiled at him, patting his head when he tried to curl up into a ball and chuckling at his attitude towards the topic.

“Now, since Es didn’t tell us when it was Pocky day a little bit ago-” Es scoffed from the corner, rolling his eyes at Mahiru’s accusing tone. “We’re celebrating late. But celebrating is still celebrating~!”

Fuuta rolled his eyes from the corner where he sat. “And how exactly are we planning on celebrating?”

“Well- Not everyone can really participate, since Amane is a bit too young… But you should all pair up and play at least once, right? We rarely get to do fun things like that here, and it’ll be so exciting-!”

“No way I’m playing this bullshit game.” The boy huffed, standing up without a moment to waste and turning to leave, but let out a yelp when someone grabbed his pantleg, and Mikoto dragged him right back onto the floor, and next to him.

“Sounds good, Mappi-chan!” He hummed, completely ignoring the continued protests from Fuuta who was now being forcefully held against the brown-haired individual.

Mahiru let out another one of her signature giggles before turning to you, flashing you a grin. “You should pair up with Haruka here!” She patted the boy’s head, ruffling his hair slightly as he glanced desperately upwards at you from where his head sat, currently in his arms as he huddled around his knees.

“U- Um- I’m not--”

Mahiru grinned at the both of you, giving you a slight push towards the boy before placing a box of strawberry Pocky in your hands. “Have fun!!” She bounced off in another direction, probably to tease Fuuta and Mikoto a bit, before you glanced back at Haruka, to which he let out a little squeak.

You sighed, incing a bit closer to him so that you could pat his head, to which he immediately leaned into your touch. “Sorry about her… We don’t have to--”

Haruka’s voice was impossibly quiet and timid, but he spoke so quickly you could barely finish your sentence. “....B- But-... I want to.”

You paused. “You do!?”

He nodded his head shakily, partially obstructed face glowing with a rosy blush as he let out an embarrassed breath , cheeks burning with shame. “S- Sorry- I just-” He trailed off, letting out a sound somewhere between a squeak and the sort of whine you would bear from a kicked puppy as he buried his face further into his crossed arms.

“.....Don’t be sorry, I just- Didn’t expect that. Like. At all. But- It’s fine if you want to, I guess-...?”

Haruka snapped his head upwards, hair disheveled from trying hopelessly hide himself from Mahiru as he looked at you with wide eyes. “R- Really?”

"The room is small and messy."

She says it all the time, but while sitting on her couch, all I can see is a good atmosphere and company. Memories made in this room are worth more than any other place could ensure. It is hers and I am with her.

The room is small, that is true, but it doesn't feel small at all. It is an extension of herself, shelves so tall to the ceiling full of books, mangas and knick-knacks blurring my eyes with shapes and colors. TV sitting in a corner playing stupid movies I would never watch by myself, just for her. Wallpapers with red buses and gray texture.

We sit and snacks are looking at us from the table in front of the couch. Sometimes there's a box of pizza, or two, and even one can't fit on the table, but that is what I think is beautiful. Because even if it's too big, it still belongs.

The room is so her and she is waves of hair. I never knew the sea could be so colorful. When I look at it, it changes from blue to violet to white to her. And I don't know the times when the sea was a river, only know her from photos and stories. I didn't know the river, but the sea I know now is beautiful.

She resonates with meows of her kittens, black voids with eyes shining bright, whites of the sky. The barks joyfully join, a princess of my own heart.

Her cats usually don't care about me, more interested in sleeping, meowing, being there in highs of rooms, hiding in the dark or arms of their owner. But her dog looks and wiggles her tail, happy to see me. I don't know if she knows I am me and that she saw me before. It's not so often I visit and not so often walk with her. But she is happy the same every time.

My friend is all smiles and laughs when something is funny. She is dark and stormy if days are bad. I always see the sun, sometimes it just hides behind a cloud. Because even the brightest rays need a rest.

Her hugs are one of those that you know will embrace the whole of you. Her arms long and heart big. Sides warm when I sit next to her. I can hear her breathe and hear her pulsing blood. Peace.

Once I let her prick me with a needle. A professional one, made to prick people. She wanted to practice and I didn't even think about saying "no". What could go wrong sitting on her couch? At the end, she gave me a band-aid.

The room is small, but she fills it up perfectly and leaves a place for me. I am happy she invited me to fit on the too small table.

I haven't decided what version of DINTIS would be involved here. It would be fun to make a very specific version of them for this, especially given the eldritch shit happening. But it'd be funny if it was the normal Horror verse Jet and Dark (Astra + Umbra) and even funnier if it was still just normal Jet and Dark.

anyways, some nerding about 701 + explanations for why they’re named what they are:

so funny thing. The anomalous part of SCP 701 is that when the play is actually performed, there’s a (roughly 33%) chance that the actors and audience will go mad and kill each other or themselves. Also the apparition of a wrapped-up corpse covered in chains appears on-stage, slowly becoming more prevalent and the actors slowly start to acknowledge his existence.

The SCP play has an ambassador from Alagadda, which is a made-up place that exists only in the SCP multiverse. It’s an anomalous dimension and kingdom that’s ruled by…the Hanged King. From my understanding he looks like the apparition from 701, but take that with a grain of salt because i only have a handful of details and a poor memory

Anyways. I knew about this play already but forgot about the effects on the audience, the deviation from the plot, and the already vaguely eldritch lore around entities and places involved.

So now I need to fight myself to not make it an SCP AU in all but name, because that would be so convenient. too convenient. but oooogh if i don't steal it i'm definitely taking inspiration

Anyway. Reasoning for my choices:

Isabella: One of the three conspirators in the plot to kill the first king. Also the only female one named im sorry girl. Tbf tho Isabella was apparently less devoted to the plan than the other two, and having only relatively recently succumbed to the eldritch madness Koroit isn’t quite as insane as Jade and Obsidian

Gonzalo: As the more mentally disturbed of the two, Obsidian will probably never realize that what they’re doing is fucked up. At least in a ‘oh god what have we done and is it too late to fix it’ way. Also he’s officially in-charge so like. Yeah. king boy.

Petruccio: Petruccio confessed to the whole murder plot off-stage. While it would take a lot for Jade to have the ‘oh god what have we done and is it too late to fix it’ realization, it is possible. But more importantly, he’s absolutely determined to stick with Obsidian until the end. Fucked up besties <333

Antonio + Francisco: The two conspirators against Gonzalo, and the two of the JMV cast most likely to try and stop any and all of this. Mercury may have better luck, but he likely won’t try anything more than damage mitigation unless Zircon comes to him with anything resembling a plan.

Beatrice + Lodovico: Simply servants of Gonzalo and Isabella. They are complicit in the attempted murders scripted for the play, but are bound by the narrative and their positions to do as they’re told. Paraiba and Silver…theoretically they have slightly more power, but still.

Sortino: VERY bad joke about the duke getting put in the soup and Jasper being the cook. I’m sorry for this one. Jasper’ll be fine tho i promise. Or. He’s not going to be cannibalized. And he probably won’t die. he IS gonna get a little bit fucked up though. sorry. 

Sforza: …zuli might be screwed. I haven’t decided anything specifically but since he’s the worst off it was so so so tempting to name him after one of the characters that get super fucked up. He WAS going to be Sortino, but i didn’t want anyone to be the apparently annoying little priest (who didn’t even get more than a mention and a couple of lines), and ‘alinda’ didn’t fit anyone, and i so very much wanted to use Sforza anyways and had Mercury, Zuli, and Jasper left…

I'm guessing a lot of people want to know about this. Em, I'm going to go ahead and say there will be major character deaths, but not the ones you expect. In my cranium, there's going to be two big bits of confrontation; the ship (which we all knew was going to happen) and the final big battle (debating whether to write this properly, or to pan over it and hit the aftermath). So there will be loads of intense things that will lead to some major character injury too but, fear not, I'm not cruel enough to axe off extremely important characters (looking at you Cameron) but I can't say any more because of spoilers!

2. Well that's an easy question because bestie and all around amazing idea creator @be-the-glenn-to-my-maggie came up with the idea of the humans leaving Pandora and never coming back, and then mentioned Eywa blessed Spider and my brain went 'huh good idea mine now'. And I was already looking for something more to write about Spider because the inspiration muse has had me by the throat since January and isn't letting go.

3. Good question!! I will always write fanfiction, even when I've published my original ideas because it's an amazing creative outlet and a great way to practice new ideas. Bestie @be-the-glenn-to-my-maggie came up with an ikran racing au because of an ask I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) and again my brain just went yes so that might be in the works after ftnadol. But at the moment there isn't anything concrete, but when something comes I'm sure it'll whack me upside the head XD

4. Oooooo other fandoms. Well Stranger Things is a big love of mine (I actually have a Steve x Male OC fic which has been gathering dust which incorporated Irish Mythology that I need to resurrect), as is Star Wars, and Umbrella Academy, and Marvel, gosh there's loads to count up. In terms of what I'd like to write for, maybe dipping my toes into Percy Jackson? Because of the TV show? OR! Spider verse because Miles is my boy. I'm not entirely sure though because I never quite know until an idea does suddenly pop into my brain. Haikyuu might be something to try, but who knows! Certainly not me~

5. Ooooo interesting well! If you didn't know I play two instruments; harp and violin, so music is a massive part of my life. I teach swimming some evenings, and absolutely love to do it recreationally. I game, and am very excited for Spider-Man 2. I'm also self teaching myself korean, which is very fun and interesting because I'll be able to understand half the music I listen to XD of course, this is also whilst writing up a storm every week!
