any tips for getting into copywriting?
Learn the basics of copywriting & writing fundamentals/ marketing skills
Study the different types of copywriting (web/banners, email, social, ads, direct mail, sales letters, etc.)
Decide on your niche(s). Study everything you can about the industry, trends, latest news, customer demographics/psychographics, customer behavior, types of lifestyles/preferences they have, how they speak, where they spend the most time (IRL or digitally)
Craft an inspiration folder full of compelling copywriting examples you find when browsing on the web, going through your email, scrolling on social media, billboards, magazines, direct mail, etc.
Practice rewriting these examples with your own flair. Evaluate it, and keep practicing until you're proud of your copy.
Be as concise, clever, and convincing as possible. Keep your tone conversational (write like how you would speak), catchy, simple, and witty. Take out any extraneous or fluff words. Pepper in cultural references, puns, and relatable anecdotes understood by your target audience when relevant to your messaging/CTA
Create a portfolio with these mock-ups or projects done for family/friends (state they're spec work, not client-commissioned samples) or clips from an internship, school work, etc.
Craft a USP for yourself (including your niche, copywriting specialties, and the specific expertise you offer within your broader niche/service offerings that makes you unique)
Create an Upwork profile and share your services on LinkedIn (optimize both of these profiles)
Research local clients and small businesses within your niche. Also, take time to create a list of dream clients. Study their copy, brand voice, and keep tabs on updates regarding these companies' happenings
Learn the art of a cold email/LinkedIn pitch/Upwork proposal. Introduce yourself and your services to your prospect and share with them how you can fulfill a specific need they're seeking out (For local and smaller companies, feel free to offer suggestions. With more established companies, connect the dots as to why your experience/expertise is a great fit for their brand/target audience), and attach your work/link to your LinkedIn profile, website, and any other relevant hub for your professional services & content
Ask for referrals from friends/family to get started. If they're not a relative, get a testimonial to include in your portfolio
Follow up once if you haven't heard back from a prospective client after an initial pitch after a few days
Search for potential gigs on sites like Upwork/ProBlogger/People Per Hour
Once you land a gig, execute to the best of your ability and hand in your work by the deadline (strategies surrounding best business practices is a whole other post, lol)
Gather testimonials from all clients of successful projects. Confirm with clients whether you can use their work in your portfolio if you're unsure
Continue studying copywriting from books, courses, and everyday reading & living
Stay knowledgeable about advancements/updates in your field, keep updated on current events, and culture/social trends, and read a lot in general. Have interesting, multi-faceted conversations with others. Observe what makes people tick & remain engaged in a verbal dialogue or content

Lumen's Diary: Trying and failing is better than regretting that you never tried
One of my new year resolutions for 2025 is to make some changes in how I show up in my own business, which includes social media and my blog. I want to push myself out of my comfort zone and overcome my fear of being seen.
This is something I've been struggling with since creating my blog, since I am such a private person. The fine line between undersharing and oversharing, is one that nobody else but me can draw.
But it's something that I decided I want to do, because here's what I realized: all those things I've always wanted to achieve? If I'm too afraid of failure that I never even try, where does that get me? To wake up in 5 or 50 years from now regretting my entire life for not trying? For not being brave enough to at least give it a shot?
A life of mediocrity and regrets is not for me. I see nothing worse than that.
So that's one of the main changes I want to make in this year. Bravely show up. Stop overthinking and overcalculating everything, and just show up.
This also means posting more personal photos of my day-to-day life, connecting more deeply with you guys just as you requested via the recent posts/polls). Sharing more stories, more personal obstacles and experiences and struggles. Because it's our mistakes and our flaws and our humanity that connects us, not our filter-perfect highlight reels that everyone has grown weary of, myself included.

Dead Boy Detectives Letter Writing Campaign
Every 2 weeks (typically Thursdays), there's a concentrated letter writing campaign to encourage Netflix to renew Dead Boy Detectives.
If you are able to do so, I highly encourage you to send letters! Flooding them with our love and loyalty to the show on an ongoing basis keeps Dead Boy Detectives on their radar, and it forces them to at least be aware of how serious their subscribers are about the show.
Tips to make letter writing more successful
Put "ATTN TO": specific executives at Netflix, so the letters go to them/their departments. Suggestions are: Bela Bajaria and Peter Friedlander (Chief US/Canadian Show Executives), Greg Peters and Ted Sarandos (Netflix Co-CEOs) and Reed Hastings (Chairman and Founder).
Channel your inner Niko and Be Kind.
Don't stress about perfection. It doesn't have to be perfect. Write why the show is important to you, why you think it needs to be renewed. You can reference any of the articles or stats on the campaign website or social media. I printed a pic of the billboard in one of my letters that went out to each exec (tee hee). Be as creative (or not creative) as you want. What's most important is that it gets mailed :)
You can absolutely resend letters you've already sent, and write ATTN to these people (that's what I did, pictured above, hence the 3 sets of letters to all 5 exec's).
You also don't need to wait for a letter writing campaign to send letters! If you're feeling inspired on another date, then by all means, embrace it!
If you need ideas, there's lot of resources on the official savedeadboydetectives website, and lots of good references on twitter (it'll never be X to me. I refuse.) and Tumblr. Consider following their socials on X and Tumblr to see campaign updates.
As always, thank you to each and every one of you who is a part of this fandom! You are loved. You matter. You are seen. And us coming together, on behalf of this show, on behalf of each other, is a beautiful thing, indeed.
#DBDA#Dead Boy Detectives#Save Dead Boy Detectives#DBDA Letter writing campaign#Tips for DBDA Letter writing campaign#we have unfinished business#our unfinished business is saving this show#I know we are collectively working incredibly hard to save the show#Thank you for being a part of this fandom

amy tips on how to start writing on here
this is not the end-all-be-all of writing tips, let me preface with that. this is just an accumulation of tips i’ve noted on my own in the almost ten years of writing i’ve spent on this app mixed with tips i’ve read and gathered from other people.
but a few pointers i have are
tags: these are incredibly important, they can be as plain and collective as possible or they can be incredibly niche and only applicable to the content you’re posting. but they are important tools and they aid in your content gaining traction and your blog gaining popularity. it is incredibly important to include all possible for the character or figure you are writing more, in my examples i’m going to use chris sturniolo tags. you will find the tag section at the bottom of each new post you create, below the screenshot is of the tag section.

meaning: if your content doesn’t have a named character alongside the figures in the fandom you’re writing for, use an x reader tag; ie: chris sturniolo x reader.
meaning: if your content has a named character alongside the figures in the fandom you’re writing for, use an x oc /x original character tag; ie: chris sturniolo x oc / chris sturniolo x original character.
meaning: if your content doesn’t have anything sexual, triggering, gruesome, bloody, horrific, you should tag it as fluff or sfw. ie: chris sturniolo fluff or chris sturniolo sfw.
meaning: if your content does have anything sexual, triggering, gruesome, bloody, horrific, you should tag it as smut or nsfw. ie: chris sturniolo smut or chris sturniolo nsfw.
read more: this is a tool to help cut the length of your post so that people don’t have to spend absurd amounts of time scrolling, without removing any of your content, all it does is add a “keep reading” button that the reader can click if they wish to view more of your content. the screenshots below show what button to press and how it appears.

abbreviations: do not add text slang, acronyms, numbers, or abbreviations when you are writing in person dialogue. it gives your content an unfinished and poor impression.
meaning: if your character is saying “you’re joking.” to another person physically, do not write “ur joking.”, just write the full word.
meaning: if your character is saying “i’ll be right back.” to another person physically, do not write “i’ll brb.”, just write the full word.
meaning: if your character is talking about numbers, such as “oh there’s two of them.” to another person physically, do not write “there’s 2 of them.”, just write the full word.
descriptive writing + imagery: this is vital, it adds depth and other elements to your story while keeping the reader/s attention. it’s important to include details about where the characters are, what time of day it is, how cold or warm it is. it’s also important to describe what your characters are feeling and their body language. but have fun with it, try out different descriptive words and imagery styles.
pairings/duos/relationships: it’s always good to inform your readers of who will be with who either from the start or eventually in your story. i always add the pairing of the story right underneath the title. ie: pairing: chris sturniolo x fem!reader
synopsis: this is a paragraph that gives your audience small clues as to what your story is about, without giving away every detail. it’s important not to add any plot twists in the synopsis section because you want that element of surprise to still be in effect. i always add my synopsis right under my parings paragraph.
warnings: these are incredibly important! always post these above the read more link as it allows your audience to know what to prepare themselves for, especially if your story is sexually or violently graphic or if it includes triggering topics [ suicide, self harm, vomiting, sexual content, SA, violence, anything disturbing. ] adding proper warnings allows your audience to know whether or not to click out before they start reading. i usually place my warnings right above the read more link so that they can choose to keep reading or not, and so that they have the warnings fresh in mind.
lastly, just have fun with whatever you’re creating. a few good blogs to follow for other writing tips or advice or just anything related to writing are @urfriendlywriter @novelbear @thepromptswhisperer and @love-me-a-good-prompt !!

What is Mutual Fund?
A mutual fund is a type of investment vehicle that pools money from multiple investors to invest in a diversified portfolio of securities such as stocks, bonds, and other assets. Investments in securities are spread across a wide cross-section of industries and sectors and thus the risk is reduced.
It is managed by a professional fund manager or an asset management company (AMC) who makes investment decisions on behalf of the investors.
Mutual funds offer good investment opportunities to the investors. Like all investments, they also carry certain risks
SEBI formulates policies and regulates the mutual funds to protect the interest of the investors.
OVERVIEW OF MUTUAL FUNDS INDUSTRY IN INDIA
The mutual fund industry in India was set up through a combination of regulatory changes, legislative reforms and the entry of various market players.
Unit Trust of India- UTI was founded in 1964, which is when the mutual fund sector in India first started to take off. To mobilize public funds and invest them in the capital markets, UTI was established as a statutory body under the UTI Act, 1963. The idea of mutual funds was greatly popularized in India because to UTI.
Regulatory Framework-In India, the mutual fund industry's regulatory structure began to take shape in the 1990s. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Act, which established SEBI as the governing body for the Indian securities markets, was passed in 1993. Among other market intermediaries, SEBI was responsible with regulating and supervising mutual funds.
The SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations,1996- This regulation established the legal foundation for the establishment, administration, and operation of mutual funds in India. These regulations outlined the standards for investor protection, investment restrictions, disclosure requirements, and eligibility requirements for asset management companies (AMCs).
Introduction of Private Sector Mutual Funds: UTI was the only active mutual fund provider in India prior to 1993. Private sector mutual funds were nevertheless permitted to enter the market as a result of the liberalization of the financial sector and the opening up of the Indian economy. Many domestic and foreign financial organizations launched their own AMCs and entered the mutual fund industry.
Product Line Evolution: The mutual fund sector in India has grown and increased its product selection throughout the years. Mutual funds initially mainly offered income and growth opportunities. To address various investor needs and risk profiles, the industry did, however, offer a wider range of products, such as equity funds, debt funds, balanced funds, and specialist sector funds.
Investor Education and Awareness: Serious efforts have been made to educate and raise investor awareness in order to encourage investor involvement in mutual funds. Industry groups, AMCs, and SEBI have run investor awareness campaigns, distributed instructional materials, and supported systems for resolving investor complaints. Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) were introduced, and this was a significant factor in luring individual investors
Technological Advancements-The mutual fund sector in India has embraced technological development, making it possible for investors to access and invest in mutual funds through online platforms and mobile applications. Investors can now transact, track their investments, and get mutual fund information more easily thanks to digital platforms.
The mutual fund industry in India has developed into a strong and regulated sector through regulatory changes, market competition, and investor-centric initiatives. The sector keeps expanding, drawing in more investors and providing them with a wide variety of investment possibilities around the nation.

Day 5
Madara is running, mind trying to keep up with everything that just happened. Take a left and then a right, there’s a contact there that can help. He feels blood dripping down his arm but he has to keep going. The shouts behind him are getting louder so he takes a left instead of a right, hoping to find a place to hide for a moment and catch his breath.
He has to make it to the meeting point and get his arm checked out before his date with Leo later. If he has to cancel again over this… He’ll make it. He has to.
Madara must have bled more than he thought at first. He’s stumbling and it’s harder to breathe and he almost doesn’t notice when he runs into someone else until that familiar voice cuts through the fog.
“Mama? Mama are you okay?” Why is he here? Did he have something going on? Madara tries to turn around, find a different place to hide. He can’t talk about this right now, not with Leo. Leo grabs his hand and Madara is too weak to pull away.
“I’m fine, Leo-san.” The shouts that were following him seem to be getting quieter. They must have taken the bait. He relaxes just a little bit. “I have somewhere I need to--” He collapses before he can finish, everything goes blurry and he has to force himself to focus on Leo’s voice. He can tell that someone’s speaking but he can’t tell if it's himself or Leo. Stay awake stay awake stay awake.
He feels his lips moving and he’s trying to say something while Leo is on the phone and applying pressure to Madara’s arm. Please don’t leave. I love you I love you I love you. Leo places a hand on his face and forces Madara to look up at him. Leo is saying something but Madara can’t hear it. I’m sorry you had to see me like this. Leo looks stressed. Madara caused this. He needs to leave before he makes it worse but Leo pushes him down when he tries to stand. His arm is throbbing.
Someone hands Leo a bottle which Leo then puts to Madara’s lips, cool water quenching a thirst he didn’t realize he had. His head clears just a little bit and he can hear Leo finally. Stay with me Mama, please stay awake. I love you too.
There’s more talking and Leo is pulled away while the emergency responders put Madara on a stretcher and put him in the ambulance. He tries to grab Leo, get them to let him into the ambulance as well, but they just strap his arm to his side and begin to assess the damage.
Madara wakes up in the hospital, Leo sitting in the chair next to his bed. Leo tackles him in a hug before he can say anything and the nurses are running in to check on his vitals. He’ll be okay but he won’t be released until tomorrow.
“I’m sorry, Leo-san. I really wanted--”
“What’s going on? Don’t lie to me.” Leo’s voice cracks.
“I was… trying to protect you. There are a lot of people who want to hurt you and I can’t…”
“I can make my own decisions, Mama.”
Madara doesn’t speak. He opens his mouth but any words he could say die on his lips.
“I know you want to protect me but I don’t want you to get hurt because of me either.”
“I know.”
There’s silence and Madara is afraid Leo might finally break things off. His cheeks are wet and he refuses to look at Leo. Instead, Leo grabs his hand and squeezes it.
“I love you. I don’t want to see you hurting.”
He was much more serious than the Leo Madara knew and loved. He couldn’t bear to see Leo hurting either, especially if he was the cause.
Madara squeezed Leo’s hand and made a silent promise that he’d be more careful from now on. Something had to change and continuing to get hurt like this wasn’t helping anyone. Maybe someday they could be happy together with nothing to worry about, but he would have to work to make that happen.

Hey! I work as a freelance content writer/copywriter as well. I had to stop working because of academic pressure, but the pay in my country is peanuts, and I have always wanted to expand globally. I would really appreciate it if you could share some tips on how you started getting clients and how did you build your agency? Thanks!!
Hi love! Some high-level tips are below:
Intern/Apply to remote internships to get clips/experience
Create an Upwork account to get entry-level work/testimonials to get some client portfolio work and to help build your professional reputation
Always be on the lookout for leads, do your research, and craft a thoughtful/useful pitch for the client/publisher. Send work samples/share how you can help them. Follow up – remember rejection is part of the job, it's a numbers game
Start your own blog to show off your skills/build credibility in the writing world/your field
Save all of your quality-work to use in your portfolio. Always have a portfolio ready in PDF format and as a direct link that's mobile-friendly available when pitching clients
Utilize LinkedIn, your university connections, build your network, request informational interviews, and don't be shy to ask for letters of recommendation or referrals
When you do get a client whose honest and integral, show up and do your best work and submit it on time. If you can't for whatever reason, request an extension/notify them of the delay ahead of time
Perfect your craft, continuously read about your industry, and sharpen your skills. Show up with a business owner, not employee, mindset. This might be different when you're doing contract work for an agency where they might have their own contracts, set a budget, etc. But, when working with smaller, independent clients, ensure you have your rates, terms, general business practices, contracts (see a lawyer about this one), onboarding process, client questionnaire, payment method, etc., all set up for your client to acclimate to when you're ready to sign them. Remember, your clients are your customers, not your employers. It is a partnership, not an unequal power dynamic – you are the talent, not the direct report.
Hope this helps xx

Hi Clam. Question about CoGR. I know you didn't have the fic finished when you first started posting. Did you make an outline for the whole fic or did you just wing it?
I'm struggling to keep my longfic together and could use some pointers.
Oh worm! Coming to me for planning tips is a dangerous game considering I change it up with every fic hdKJH
But in the case of CoGR specifically, yes, the entire fic was outlined before I started writing! Every chapter had a very basic concept attached to it so I understood what was meant to happen + how his Thought Processes had formed. And at the very top of the doc I had the entire Zote History written out so I could keep it in mind as I wrote
I also color-coded chapters based on where they were taking place, unless something important was discussed in that chapter, in which case they were color-coded with red text (hence my author notes referring to certain chapters as "colored red"!)
actually i went digging thru my files and I found the old planning doc, so if u were wondering how the cogr plan looked, well. here u go,
and yes it's in chronological precept order, meaning my plan was backwards. i only figured out that I wanted to go in reverse precept order After I wrote down the initial plan, lmao
But even with an established outline far in advance, stuff was constantly getting tweaked and messed around with as I wrote. Really big plot points stayed relatively the same (such as Chapter 47 - the plan for that stayed pretty cut and dry from start to finish) but some things ended up being added or changed as I went along (for instance, the entire grub arc was a sort of last minute decision; I got the idea a few chapters in advance and went 'hey fuck it that'd be fun to add' so I Did, and I found it made the chapters where the grub was included far more interesting than if they were never there!)
So my advice would be to make an outline but not be too hard on yourself when it comes to sticking to it. I find an outline to be SUPER helpful, as if I don't plan something well in advance I just end up writing myself into a hole (R.I.P Tinnitus), but adding little things as I write can make it all the better. So make a plan, yeas, but give yourself breathing room for changing things/adding stuff!
Hope that helps at all!!
#and ever since cogr my planning docs have become all the more lengthy and complicated to look at. which is both a blessing and a curse#In the case of Nothing Spectacular I ended up writing and rewriting and erasing and revising the outline every five minutes.#I was never happy with what I wanted to happen and it led to me never finishing the fic. Because I was constantly changing the plan#but in the case of Fluttering Wings the plan is ESSENTIAL. Because I am THE FORGETTER. And I'm VERY BUSY while I write it#so if there's things I want to happen I need it WRITTEN DOWN in that planning doc or I will DIE. So the plan for FWCT is LENGTHY.#(there's already stuff I forgot to add in chapter 2 that I saw in the planning doc and went AHHH FUCK. So I need to add em later SHDGKJH)#but I say do whatever works best for you! Short plan? Long plan? Barely a plan? Hey it works different for different people#There are people who can write totally planless and have everything work out!... I am just not one of those people! Rip Tinnitus!#ask#writing tips

In the ever-evolving digital landscape, content marketing has emerged as a pivotal strategy for businesses aiming to connect with their audience effectively. The best digital marketing agency in Ahmedabad recognizes the power of content marketing in driving engagement and fostering customer loyalty. But what exactly is content marketing, and why is it so crucial in the realm of digital marketing? Let’s delve into these questions and explore the significance of content marketing in today's competitive market.
Understanding Content Marketing | Content Marketing Explained
Content marketing is a strategic approach focused on creating, publishing, and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and engage a clearly defined audience. The ultimate goal is to drive profitable customer action. Unlike traditional marketing, which often interrupts a customer's experience with promotional messages, content marketing provides valuable information that educates and informs potential customers, fostering trust and loyalty.
Importance of Content Marketing in Digital Marketing
How important is content marketing in online marketing? Let’s take a look at a few important reasons why content is indispensable to your digital marketing strategy.
Enhances Brand Visibility and Authority
Content marketing is a powerful tool for enhancing brand visibility and establishing authority in your industry. By consistently producing high-quality content, businesses can position themselves as thought leaders and experts. This is particularly true for companies offering the best content writing services in Ahmedabad, where competition is fierce. High-quality content helps businesses stand out and be recognized as reliable sources of information and enhances the benefits of digital marketing.
Boosts SEO and Organic Traffic
Search engines love fresh, relevant, and valuable content. Regularly updating your website with new content can significantly improve your search engine rankings. Keywords such as "best content writing services Ahmedabad" and "content writing services in Ahmedabad" should be naturally integrated into your content to improve visibility. High-ranking content attracts organic traffic, leading to more potential customers discovering your business without the need for paid advertising.
Builds Trust and Loyalty
Consistent and valuable content helps build trust with your audience. When potential customers find helpful information on your website, they are more likely to return and eventually convert into loyal customers. Trust is a cornerstone of successful marketing companies in Ahmedabad and beyond. Businesses that prioritize content marketing can foster stronger relationships with their audience, leading to increased customer retention.
Supports Other Digital Marketing Strategies
Content marketing doesn't work in isolation; it complements and enhances other digital marketing strategies. For instance, high-quality content is essential for effective social media marketing, email marketing, and even pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns. The best digital marketing agency in Ahmedabad understands the interconnected nature of digital strategies and leverages content marketing to amplify their overall marketing efforts.
Drives Conversions and Sales
Informative and engaging content guides potential customers through the buying journey. From awareness to consideration and finally to decision-making, content marketing plays a crucial role in nurturing leads. Content such as blog posts, case studies, and whitepapers can address pain points and answer questions, helping potential customers make informed purchasing decisions. This approach is vital for content marketing companies in Ahmedabad aiming to convert visitors into paying customers.
Cost-Effective Marketing Strategy
Compared to traditional advertising methods, content marketing is a cost-effective strategy with long-term benefits. While it requires time and effort to create quality content, the results are sustainable and continue to generate traffic and leads over time. For businesses looking for the best content marketing services in Ahmedabad, investing in content marketing offers a high return on investment (ROI).
Conclusion
Content marketing is a cornerstone of successful digital marketing strategies. It enhances brand visibility, boosts SEO, builds trust, supports other marketing efforts, drives conversions, and is cost-effective.
