Danny is 18, and is on the run from Vlad, who wanted to reattempt his cloning plot. In order to do that, he had to see why Dani was the only cloning that managed to survive. Sam, Tucker, the Fentons and Jazz are dead
So he kidnapped her, and in the process, Dani deaged to an infant. Currentlyx they were both nearing Gotham, and, the GIW were on their tail
Danny made it all the way to Bristol before he had to stash Dani in a alley and deal with the GIW agents
Danny doesn’t return.
An hour later Thomas and Martha Wayne were out for a walk with their one month old son when the heat faint cries of a baby from an alley.
They enter the alley and see an infant girl wrapped in a blanket covered with stars. Her only belongings were a green thermos, vials of bright green liquid and a red beanie with the name ‘Danielle Jane’ scrawled on it.
Normally they would’ve reported this to the police, but everyone knew that the police was corrupted and the fosters homes were horrible.
Besides, there was something about the girl that seemed… otherworldly.
So, the took her in.
Teh next week, the Gotham Gazette was printing papers with the front page ‘Wayne family reveals female twin, Danielle Jane Wayne!’
They had pretended that Danielle was the twin that they didn’t know about until the due date and she came out sickly, so the doctors kept her in the hospital until she recovered.
As they grew up, Dani and Bruce were inseparable, with Dani not remembering her halfa side and Bruce not knowing they weren’t twins. They looked similar enough anyway.
All that change when the twins were 8. Thomas and Martha died, and the pain, shock and grief triggered Dani’s memories of being a halfa. The death kick started Bruce’s quest for vengeance (Dani wouldn’t seek vengeance, she couldn’t, not after Dan)
They began to drift apart. Bruce didn’t tell her about his vigilante plans and Dani didn’t tell him about her halfa status.
By the time they were 19 and Bruce dropped out of collage, they both began traveling. Bruce to train, Dani to have fun.
Dani continued traveling when Bruce returned, promising to visit. Eventually Gotham forgot about the Wayne Heiress, especially as Batman appeared and Bruce adopted more children. Bruce also forgot to tell his kids about their ‘bio’ aunt
There are a couple ways the Batkids could find out about Dani
- Bruce gets lost in the Time stream and Alfred was deemed too old to get custody and Dick was deemed too young. No one knows what to do now, until Alfred calls in Dani, who arrives and immediately gets custody, reminding Gotham that she exists.
- a batkid is cleaning out the attic/empty rooms as a punishment and finds the Fenton thermos, ecto vials, and baby blanket.
Batkid (probs Dick): Bruce why do you have Lazarus pit water in your attaric??
Everyone: …
Bruce: … what?
Alfred: ah, those are your sisters
Bruce: where did Dani get Lazarus water? She hasn’t been at the Manor in years
Batkids: …we have an aunt???
Alfred: Martha and Thomas found her in an alley with those belongings. She seems to have forgotten to collect them. I shall give her a call.
Bruce: …Dani isn’t my twin sister?
Batkids: YOU HAVE A TWIN??!?
Bruce: WELL APPARENTLY NOT @jc-llex
- Bruce and the JLA are breaking into a GIW facility to get evidence for a murder (a collage boy named Daniel Fenton) and found Dani breaking in at the same time
-Dani ends up dating a JLA member and said member introduces her to the team (bonus points if it’s Hal or Diana)
- SO MUCH ANGEST AND CRACK AND FLUFF COULD BE FIT UNTO THIS PROMPT D O Y O U S E E T H E V I S I O N ? ? ?

Thinking a very normal amount about Tim being joker junior.
Thinking about Jason dying and Tim becoming robin out of necessity.
Thinking about Bruce not noticing Tim has been kidnapped because surely, surely his parents would file a report. Surely Tim must have been dragged into going on a trip with them and just didn’t mention it.
Thinking of Bruce not questioning things correctly because he is too busy grieving the previous robin.
Thinking of Bruce just thinking Joker Junior is a random kid.
Thinking of Barbra being the one to notice instead.
Thinking of Barbra consoling Tim after he kills the Joker.
Thinking of her taking Tim and letting him heal in the Drake estate.
Thinking of a file Bruce Wayne makes called Joker junior, one that Tim never looks at, that talks about a kid who killed the Joker and has been missing ever since.
Thinking of, months later, when robin returns to Bruce’s side, it just so happens to coincide with the return of Jack and Janet.
Thinking of Tim thinking Barbra must have told Bruce, but he just never came to see him. And that’s fine, because it isn’t as if they are family, Tim is just here to make sure Bats doesn’t go off the deep end again.
Thinking of Barbra not telling Bruce, because surely he already knows, he’s the world’s greatest detective. Plus she isn’t one to talk about other people’s trauma when they aren’t around.
Thinking of Tim hiding his laughter, because Batman would never let him keep patrolling if he knew he was still having fits.
Thinking of Dick not being there most of the time, and when he is, he mostly spends it arguing with Bruce.
Thinking of Tim knowing that Dick must know because he hears them fighting about the joker being dead once, although he did leave pretty soon after when he feels the laughter bubbling up in his throat.
Thinking of Jason coming back, attacking him at the titains tower, and telling him that he’s read all his files and knows everything about Tim. Obviously Tim takes this to mean he knows that Tim killed the joker as JJ. Because why wouldn’t that be in his file.
Thinking of Jason not having time to question when the little Robin who replaced him starts manically laughing once he sees him, because as soon as he hears the familiar laugh the green takes over completely.
Thinking of Tim finally feeling in control of himself, but then worst year ever happens. His parents are dead, Bruce is lost in the time stream, all his friends are dead, Robin is stolen from him, and everyone thinks he is crazy. He starts to relapse.
Thinking of Tim actually going a little bit crazy after that, trying to clone Bart and Kon, joining the league of assassins, doing all those crazy things he did during worst year ever.
Thinking of Cass learning after saving Tim from the daughter of Acheron. There isn’t much he can do but explain after she witnesses one of his fits.
Thinking about years later, when everyone has relationships more akin to Batman: Wayne family adventures, Tim still feels a little out of the group.
Thinking of everyone getting mad when he talks about the Joker, especially if it’s in front of Jason.
Thinking of Tim going silent or making himself scarce everytime the Joker is mentioned.
Thinking of a Tim who finds an excuse not to go out when Harley Quinn is.
Thinking of a Tim who hasn’t had an episode in years.
Thinking of a Tim who watches Jason get all this support for his trauma, while he doesn’t.
Thinking of him going to Barbra or Cass anytime he has a set back because they are the only ones who seem to care.
Thinking of a Wayne family who doesn’t know.
Thinking of a Tim who Knows they Know, but they just don’t care.

New Twin?
ok so we know Bruce got lost in the time stream right?
And Tim saved him bla bla bla...
Ok so I'm reading a fanfic rn and it's giving me an idea for a dpxdc crossover.
Its 'TWINcognito mode' by nerdpoe
Ok so I'm thinking it's not safe for Danny in his world so clockwork pulls some strings and sets everything up for Danny to be Tim's non identical twin (theyre similar enough to pass) and he just appears in wayne manor right after Bruce gets out of the time stream.
Like I'm talking he has a room that's 'been lived in for years', he has memories of them and growing up with tim, he's acting like nothings new ect.
So he's all like "dad your back!" And they're all looking between tim and his double like "tim??? NOT tim????" And they come to the conclusion that Bruce fucked with the time stream and he spawned in.
They all feel guilty that they 'forgot' him even though they never knew him. Especially Tim, he would feel so bad if there was someone that went through what he did with their parents neglect and they only had each other, but Tim doesn't remember who this is.
He could be fully aware and is pretending so he's safe OR clockwork thought this would be for the best so he altered Danny's memories so he genuinely believes he's Tim's twin.
For the second option I like the ideas that he doesn't remember anything/he doesn't have access to his ghost half (either he has to heal from something his parents did or he can't handle the full power that comes with being ghost king) and he won't unlock his memories/powers till he dies again.
Which if he genuinely believed they were his family, and then they tell him he wasn't real a few days ago, that would probably fuck with his mind.

It’s funny to me that Tim Drake shares all the traits of a toxic ex-boyfriend.
Stalker tendencies? Tim spent years keeping tabs on and stockpiling an inordinate amount of information on Bruce Wayne.
Doesn’t know when “no” means “no”? When Bruce declined Tim’s offer to be Robin, because he didn’t feel emotionally stable enough for that commitment, Tim straight up ignored him and did it anyway.
Keeps trying to get back with you even though you’ve moved on? He literally cloned his dead boyfriend. Enough said.
Always overreacts? When Bruce got lost in the time stream, instead of just waiting for Batman to do his thing like a normal person, Tim decided to go on a extremely perilous mission across the globe even after everyone told him to maybe calm the fuck down.
Is always the source of drama? Tim literally cannot stop himself from fucking with Ra’s al Guhl, it’s like one of his main character traits.
Lies about things, and may be in trouble with the law? Need I remind of the fact that Tim forged government documents in order to make it appear that he had an uncle? No?
But, yes. You get it.

PART 2 ♡
Please don't copy my work. I put a lot of effort and heart into the things I write.

Tumblr media
❤️◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇💍◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇❤️
There was not a morning where you didn't wake up like this. You were alone, yes, but you knew he wasn't far. He never was. This had turned into a game of sorts. A spiel where he would shower you in lavish gifts every single morning. It was his way of showing you just how much you meant to him and that you held his heart in your hands.
You sat up in your shared bed and stretched your arms, letting out a yawn. Your gaze fell to the sliver of light that your curtains couldn't keep out. Getting up, you followed it carefully, knowing that he wanted you to. He was Bruce Wayne, nothing was a coincidence. Everything was intenional. A small, red box sat on your vanity, a note right next to it. It was being perfectly illuminated by the slice of sunshine cutting through the darkness of the room. A smile crept onto your face as you read the note your lover had left you.
My beloved,
May this bring a sparkle to your life, just as you have brought to mine.
Love,
Bruce ♡
You rolled your eyes at how corny this was, but it still tugged at your heart strings in the best way possible. Every day there would be a new box and note for you to discover. Placing the gifts in just the right spot and, like today, draping the curtain just at the perfect angle to guide the way to his love. He was always awake before you were but that didn't stop him. He'd never missed a day and you doubt he ever would.
You looked forward to this as well, but not because of the jewelry or whatever other expensive gifts he had prepared. No. It was the notes. It were the cruelly scribbled down words that made your heart beat out of your chest.
You loved the gifts as well, but the notes held a special place in your heart. Putting down the piece of paper, you carefully picked up the tiny box and opened the lid. Your mouth fell slightly agape at the sight before you. In the smooth, white pillows sat a delicate necklace. It was glistening in the morning glow ever so nicely.
A beautifully crafted rose pendant hung from it, the intricate petals were cold to the touch as you gently grazed the tips of your fingers over them. This had been one of most extravagant presents he'd ever given you. Bruce did always call you his flower. You brought so much to his once dull and gray life; his heart and soul bloomed like the delicate daffodils did in early spring everytime he thought of you. You brought color and joy. Just like flowers did.
"Oh, Bruce..." you sniffled, the smile on your face hurting your cheeks. Carefully picking it up, you placed it around your neck and fastened the clasp. It fit perfectly, sitting ever so delicately on your skin. You admired yourself in your vanity mirror, your fingers slightly grazing the skin just around the necklace.
You couldn't wait to show Bruce. Yes, he'd picked it out but it looked so different on you than it did on the silken interior of the small box.
Throwing on one of your many, many silk robes that Bruce insisted on getting in every single color, you quickly made your way down the grand staircase. The cold marble tiles sending a delightfully cool feeling up your spine each time you took a step. You rushed down the stairs, a steady grasp on the railing. The sunlight streaming in through the many windows fell right onto your ring.
Slowing your pace, you held your hand up to the light and examined the shimmering band. A reminder of his love. He had proposed to you just a few days ago. It was incredibly special, just the two of you under the stars. He popped the question in the stunning garden of Wayne manor that Alfred worked so hard on.
Speaking of Alfred, he was more excited than either of you. He had to sit down and went through an entire box of tissues when you broke the news. What a kind soul. You had the dumbest smile on your face recalling the events from a couple of days ago. Letting out a squeal, you pressed your hands to your heart. You were getting married. Not only that, but to him. The love of your life.
You couldn't wait any longer, you had to see him. Hurrying the rest of the way to the dinning hall, you composed yourself before entering. And the sight. Dear God. Bruce was sat at the head of the table in his boxers and a white T-shirt, coffee cup in one hand, newspaper in the other. He looked so domestic, so peaceful. Not like previous nights where he'd limp in, all battered and bruised.
Slightly looking up, his furrowed brows were immediately replaced with a wide grin when he spotted you. Putting down the mug and the paper he got out of his chair, walking your way. You met him halfway, your arms thrown loosely around his neck as his snaked around your waist.
"If it isn't my beautiful wife." He grinned, tracing circles on your waist with his thumb. "Ah, soon-to-be wife." You corrected him, the smile on your cheeks never leaving. He chuckled lowly and shook his head. "What took you so long, Honey?" He questioned softly. You laughed at his eagerness to see you. "I was held up by your generosity, Mr. Wayne." You teased, taking one of his hands and placing it on your collarbone, right next to the stunning piece of jewelry.
His gaze fell to your neck and his smile faded, leaving him wide-eyed and with his mouth slightly agape. He tenderly caressed your soft skin with his thumb, tracing the shape of the necklace. "I knew it'd be perfect," He breathed out, followed by a breathy chuckle. Your cheeks flushed and you brought his hand up to your lips, placing a kiss on his knuckles.
"Thank you, Sweetheart. For all these precious gifts. For always making me wake up with a smile on my face. You've made me the happiest girl in the world." You confessed, the softest smile on your face. Bruce swear his heart just melted inside his chest. He made you the happiest girl in the world? You have no idea how happy you made him. He felt invincible, like the king of the world. He was convinced he only needed your love to accomplish whatever he set his mind to. You were his oxygen, the blood in his veins, the very spirit of his soul.
Bruce was determined to show you just how much you meant to him, if that was possible. "Anything for you, my love." He said, having the most adoring look in his eyes. You'd placed your hand on his cheek in the meantime, the golden engagement band cold against his skin. "I love you, Bruce." You whispered, gently leaning in for a tender kiss. He didn't hesitate, pulling you closer to him by your waist. You relaxed against his lips, tightening the grip you had on the back of his neck.
You needed more, you needed him. He chuckled against your lips but complied, deepening the kiss. Pulling away for air, you were breathless and your lips were puffy. He would kiss you breathless forever if he could. And God knows you would let him. His playboy days paid off for something because this man could kiss. And you loved how you were the only one to feel those kisses.
"Look at you. My eager, little wife." A sly smirk was on his face and he made sure to emphasize the last word. You opened your mouth to correct him again, but he quickly interrupted you with another breathtaking yet soft kiss. You didn't now why you were so easily flustered by his kisses, you'd been together for years. There just something so electric and new about being his. Truly being his. Him being yours.
"I know we're not married yet, but I can call you whatever I want. You're mine." He said lowly, pupils dilated. His grip on your waist tightend. He's never done that. Never called you his. Told you you were his. It was implied, of course, but he'd never said the actual words. You just stood there, face flushed to the high heavens with the biggest lovesick smile on your face. His tone softened again when he spoke.
"I want you to wear the necklace to the Gala tonight." Your brows furrowed and you slightly tilted your head in confusion. "What Gala?" You asked, no idea what he was talking about. "Oh, it's a... spontaneous thing. There's a new dress in the closet." He answered. You squinted your eyes in suspicion. "Spontaneous, huh? Also, we talked about this, Sweetheart. I don't need a new dress for every event! I've barely worn the other hundreds." You laughed.
He just grinned in response. You knew he loved to see you in something new each time, he loved spoiling you. Only the best for his love. "That's where we disagree. Would you wrap a diamond ring in used wrapping paper?" He teased. You playfully rolled your eyes at him. "No, I wouldn't." You sighed.
"All the other dress just can't keep up with your inner beauty." He breathed, a soft look in his eyes. You folded. You could never be upset with him for long, you loved him too much. "Fine, I'll wear it. You're lucky I love you," you pouted. He wanted you to never stop saying that. That you loved him. Something he'd longed for, for so long. To be loved, truly loved. Not for his money, his status, his looks. But because of who he was. And you did just that. From the odd noises he made when he slept, to the extremely bad jokes he made. You were always there, tending to his wounds, whether they affected his body or his soul. Holding him so softly after a hard night, he feared you'd crumble under his calloused hands.
"Well, I'll get ready for the day. I'll see you later, okay?" You said, pressing a quick peck to his lips. He hummed in response as you slipped from his grasp.
"Honey?" you turned around, already halfway up the stairs.
"There will be a lot more press and paparazzi there today," he said. "Why?" You asked curiously, fully turning around on the stairs. "They're expecting Mrs. Wayne." He shot you a wink and gave you one of those signature smiles as he walked away.
He was right. There were a lot more people. The streets leading up to the location were lined completely with camera wielding, and very nosy paparazzi and news anchors. Everyone was hoping to catch a glimpse. This was huge for the press. They probably thought that this day would never come. Bruce Wayne, Gothams millionaire playboy was settling down? Impossible. The moment you stepped out of the car they were all over you. Invading your personal space, shoving cameras and microphones in your face. This was sensational. They wanted to know more about the woman who tightly held Bruce Wayne's heart in her delicate hands.
They had written some pretty bad stuff about Bruce in the past, not that he cared. But when one peticular news article labeled you as just a trophy wife, all hell broke loose. He sued them until bankruptcy. How dare they. How dare they lable his wife, his world, his precious jewel, as just a trophy. You were the light of his life, you loved him and he loved you. He loved you more than they would ever know and he would burn them to the ground if they ever suggested otherwise again. No press had the guts to call you names again, or they would feel the wrath of a very in love Bruce Wayne.
He came to your rescue pretty quickly. Positioning himself between you and the paparazzi, acting as human shield. Bruce gently placed a hand on the small of your back and pushed you through the doors. You let out a breath you didn't know you held.
"Jesus, do they not have better things to do.." you mumbled, hooking your arm with his. "This is their job, so no, Honey." He grinned. You rolled your eyes at him. You knew that, but did they have to be so obnoxious? If they asked nicely maybe you would actually answer some of their absurd questions. You made your way into the center of the room where the upper class of Gotham was already mingling with a glass of very expensive champagne in hand.
Bruce couldn't stop glancing over at you. The floor length, satin gown was tailored to perfection, showing of your body in the best way. The rose necklace sat nicely around your neck, sparkling under the bright light of the many chandeliers. Your hair was in an updo, showing off your earrings perfectly as they lightly swaying as you walked. Your soft hands were decorated with the many rings he had showered you with, the extravagant engagement band catching everyone's eye.
God, you looked so elegant on his arm, almost floating along the granite floor. The bright smile on your lips melted his heart as you greeted people. Unimportant people, if you ask him. "You look absolutely beautiful, my love," he whispered in your ear, his breath fanning over your neck, sending a chill down your spine.
"You flatter me, Darling. I'm glad you wore this suit, it's my favorite," you gently ran your hand down his chest. It too, was tailored just right. His heart beat faster. He didn't know you had a favorite suit. One that you longed to see him wear because it just made him look that good. "What's this Gala for anyway?" You asked, toying with the lapel of his jacket.
"Oh, you know, just some... charity," he responded with a breathy laugh. You raised your eyebrows at him. Your eyes widened in realization and a knowing smirk made its way on your pretty face. "Did you plan this whole thing just to show me off?" You questioned amused. He stumbled over his words, a very rare occurrence.
"What? Of course not, Honey, that-that'd be absurd-" you interrupted him by pressing a finger over his lips. "Fine. Let them see. Let them see how much I love you." You whispered, smashing your lips to his in a hungry kiss. One hand was on the back of his neck, keeping him close to you, the other was steadied on his chest. His hands instinctively snaked around your middle, holding you tightly.
All eyes were on you, hushed whispers and gasps filling the room. You pulled away, chest heaving. Bruce's pupils were dilated. "God, you're perfect..." he whispered breathlessly. He couldn't wait to leave this stupid event and shower you in his affection.
The Gala was a success and you were finally back at the manor. You were standing in front of the mirror in your bedroom and admired yourself one last time before you'd take it all off. Bruce came up behind you, the jacket of his suit discarded and the sleeves of his shirt rolled up. He wrapped his strong arms around your waist and dropped his head into the crook of your neck, trailing kisses along your exposed skin. You let out a breathy laugh. "Look who's eager now," you teased.
Bruce chuckled against your neck. "Can you blame me when you look like that?" He said lowly. He dragged his hands up your back and slowly pulled the zipper to your dress down. With a gentle brush of his hand, he let the dress slip off your shoulders and onto the floor. You were left in nothing but your panties, which quickly joined your gown and the floor as he pushed them down your plush hips.
"You're a little overdressed, don't you think?" You said softly, yet seductively as he continued placing wet kisses along your bare shoulder and neck. "You tell me, Honey," he answered. The taste of your skin was intoxicating. You turned around, putting your hands on his chest and slowly pushing him towards the bed. When the back of his thighs hit the bed, he sat down, pulling you into his lap.
"I think you are," you mumbled hazily, unbuttoning his shirt and throwing it on the ground. You moved your hips over his hard cock, straining against his pants. A low groan erupted from his throat at your actions. You could feel your wetness dripping from you, leaving a wet patch on his crotch. He pulled you in for a desperate kiss as you reached down to unbuckle his belt and slip off his pants.
Bruce was left in his boxers, which were quickly taken care of. His throbbing cock sprung free, hitting his stomach. You took his dick into your ring clad hand and pumped up and down a few times, making his head fall back. "Fuck, Baby..." he groaned, squeezing your hips. Lifting your hips, you lined his length up with your pussy and sank down onto it, a long moan falling from your lips. "G-God.. you fit so well. It's like you were made for me.." you mumbled out, your hands finding their place on his shoulders. He was made for you, he was sure of it. He was yours, until the end.
He moaned out your name when you started moving your hips, which he guided with his hands. You tangled your fingers in his soft hair, occasionally tugging and pulling at it. Bruce looked up at you as you bounced on his cock. Your beautiful face was contorted in pleasure, and the jewelry he had bought you still adorned you so nicely. There was a layer of sweat covering your skin, making you shine. Just like your necklace glistened in the dimly lit room. You looked like a Goddess above him, decorated with delicate pieces of jewelry. Jewelry he bought for you.
God, he wasn't sure he wanted to fuck you another way ever again. Your ring was cold against his skin, reminding him that you were his. For him to take, however he pleased. He would buy every diamond in Gotham if it meant having a sight like this before him. Your hips started moving faster, as you moaned. "Shit...M'getting c-close," you breathed out, letting your head fall against his shoulder.
He was almost upset at you for taking away his privilege of admiring you, but he never got the chance once he heard your cute little moans and whines right beside his ear. "Me too, Honey, keep going.." he panted. You pressed your body to his, your tits sitting beautifully against his chest. Bruce glanced down and saw the curves of your soft tits adorned with the stunning necklace.
It molded to their curve so perfectly, making him tighten the grip on your hips, frantically moving you up and down his cock. He chased his release, your warm, wet walls feeling too good. You gasped as his dick hit that one that that made your head spin. "Oh fuck, I can't wait to call you my husband.." you rambled out, barely registering what you'd confessed.
That pushed him over the edge as he shot his load inside you with a guttural groan, filling you up. Your husband. That was music to his ears. That's all he wants, to be yours, to be loved by you. You clenched around him and came with a cry of his name. Panting, you pressed a tender kiss to his lips. "Did you mean that?" He asked quietly, kneading the flesh of your hips.
"Did I mean what?" You asked, breathing heavily. Bruce hestitated, letting out a nervous chuckle. "That you can't wait to call me your husband."
"Oh.. I did. I love you so much, Sweetheart. More than you'll ever know. My heart is yours, Bruce," you said softly, stroking his cheek. "I love you too, Honey." He responded, kissing you passionately.
"I'll draw us a bath," you breathed, raking your fingers through his locks. He hummed in response, reluctantly letting go of you. You slipped off his cock. He watched his cum trickling down your thigh as you walked towards the bathroom. He groaned at the sight, falling back onto the bed with a smile.
Bruce was laying with his head against your chest, surrounded by bubbles and soap. His back was pressed to your front and your hands were wrapped around him. You could feel him relax against you, the tension in his shoulders fading. "I keep them, you know," you said softly from behind him. The water rippled as he turned his head to look at you.
"Keep what?" He asked. "The notes. The ones you always place next to my gifts? I keep all of them," you spoke, tracing patterns on his pecs. "You do?" He smiled. "Yeah, I read them when you're gone and I'm feeling sad. They're in a box in my nightstand." You mumbled, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. "I love you so much, Honey," he said quietly. "I love you more, Bruce."
From that moment on, he put more effort into his notes. They keep getting longer and longer, almost turning into letters as he confessed his love to you every single day. You would still read them when you're old and gray, because his love for you would never fade. Just like how your love for him would never be lost to time, you would love him until the end, continuing in your next life. Your souls and hearts were bound, and they would never stop searching until they found eachother once again.

Icy Roads
Pairing - Bruce Wayne x F!Reader
Summary - The criminals and super villains aren’t the only dangerous things in Gotham.
Warnings - Car accidents, Minor injuries, Hurt/Comfort, Near death expereinces, Angst with a happy ending, Fluff and angst.
Word Count - 2.6k
Tumblr media
“You know myself or Alfred could have come and picked you up from the airport.”
Bruce’s voice comes through the speakers in your car. He sounds a little miffed that you’ve declined the offer each time he brought it up. Though, after years with him, you know that’s just his over protective nature.
Winters in Gotham are harsher than most other places and make an already dangerous city even worse. The roads can, occasionally, be treacherous, but that’s true for any season. And you’re a skilled enough driver so you’re really not worried.
“I’m a grown woman, Bruce. I think I can drive myself home. The flight wasn’t even that long,” you reply.
He sighs softly.
“I know. I just like to make sure that the love of my life gets home safely.”
He might be all “I am the night” at times, but deep down you have always known how sweet Bruce really is. Honestly, if he was any sweeter you’d likely get toothache. Nevertheless his words have you smiling, along with your cheeks heating up like you’re a smitten schoolgirl.
“I know you do. I also know that you have a lot of responsibilities at night.”
“Gotham would survive a few hours without me.”
“A few hours? The drive isn’t that long!” you laugh.
You know exactly what he’s getting at and it’s certainly getting you feeling a little hot. He laughs as well. You can easily picture him, all dressed in his batsuit with a smile on his face as he laughs. A sight that you’re certain will terrify any criminal more than he already does.
Whatever his reply is going to be is lost.
There’s no warning.
Is there really ever in situations like this?
Something smashes into the side of your car, sending your car spinning. There’s no time for you to react, let alone properly process what’s just happened as the wheels fail to find any grip on the road as they hit patches of ice.
It feels like you spin forever, though in reality it really is only for a few seconds. The only thing you see during it are flashes of the other cars, along with the sounds of car horns and metal crashing into metal.
Your car only stops spinning when it crashes through something.
Just as you think it might be over, your car tilts forward. Through the windscreen, way down below you, is the Gotham River. The surface white and sparkling from the snow and ice.
Your car’s broken through the barrier of the bridge, leaving you hanging precariously on the edge.
Your grip on the steering wheel is iron tight as it quickly sinks in that the smallest of movements will have your car falling forward, crashing through the ice and into the icy water below.
There’s no way for you to try and get out of it yourself. You’re a sitting duck until someone comes to help you.
Tears stream down your face as your breathing starts to become erratic, panic flowing through your body. You try your best to calm your breathing down, but your car makes a creaking noise as it tilts forward a little bit more. Threatening to drop you. Which makes your panic that much more worse.
The phone call that you had been on with Bruce has long since been cut off. You know that he would have been on his way from the second that car hit yours. He wouldn’t waste a second to reach you.
You have complete faith that he is going to save you before your car can plummet and send you to your death. Because of course he is. Even before he asked you to marry him, he vowed that he would always keep you safe. He’s never once let you down and you seriously doubt he’s going to start doing so now.
The next thing you know, the door to your car is being slowly and carefully opened. Whoever it is doing their best not to disturb the car too much.
“Just stay still. I’m going to have you out of there in no time.”
Even with his voice heavily modulated and the calmness in it, you’ve known your husband long enough to hear the underlying worry in his voice. You know why.
If he moves too quickly, the car will fall forward. If he moves too slowly, the car will still fall forward. He has to be perfect in his timing or he’ll end up losing you. And you both know he won’t survive that.
You do as he’s told you. You stay rock still as he carefully leans into the car. Both of you are holding your breath as the batarang he has in hand starts to saw through your seatbelt in several places. The entire time the car continues to creak and shift ever so slightly.
“It’s a mess out here,” he tells you as he works. “There’s not enough room for the batmobile otherwise I could have pulled your car back onto the bridge.”
He’s talking to you to help keep you calm. He knows that you prefer to know the facts rather than having anything sugarcoated. Whether it’s Batman’s voice or Bruce’s, you have always found the way he speaks to be soothing. Even now, in such a precarious situation, it works. If he’s calm, then you’re calm and vice versa.
“The few minutes it would take the batwing to get here would likely be too late. Same with Superman.”
You want to nod or say something, but you feel paralysed. Like if you dare to breath differently, the car will suddenly lurch forward and make him a liar. So you stay silent and stay focused on his voice.
“You’re not going to fall, okay? The car will, but you’ll be outside of it before that happens.”
You believe him completely. He’ll get you out and you’ll be safe and sound in his arms.
When the seatbelt falls slack and he moves away, a part of you wants to panic. Internally you fight to keep your cool. It’s not like he’s going to suddenly just walk away from you now and leave you inside of this metal deathtrap.
One of his hands grips your bicep tightly; nearly making you jump.
“When I tell you to, you need to let go of the steering wheel so I can pull you out, okay?”
“Okay.” Your voice is barely even a whisper, but you’re sure that he hears you.
“I’m going to count to three. On three, let go for me. One… Two… Three!”
As soon as you let go of the wheel, he yanks you out of the car. You collide with his body, his arm wrapping around your waist as he steadies you and pulls you away. At the same time, you watch as your car finally plummets toward the river.
Your silent tears turn into full blown sobs as you bury your head against his chest. His arms wrap around you, his hand rubbing your back, as he tells you over and over again that you’re safe now. As he soothes you, he moves you away from the edge, directing you further onto the bridge, where it’s safer.
“I’m going to hand you over to the paramedics and then I’ll meet you at the hospital, okay?”
You don’t want to let go of him, but, in the eyes of Gotham, the man that you are holding onto right now isn’t your husband. It’s the city’s Dark Knight. You take a deep breath and let go of him. He gives your hand one last quick squeeze and then he’s gone; rushing over to another car that the firefighters are struggling to get in to.
A paramedic gently leads you away and toward the ambulance, wrapping a shock blanket around your shoulders, as you walk.
You are taken to Thomas Wayne Memorial Hospital, previously known as Gotham General. They renamed it after one of Bruce’s large donations, which included four new wards and an expanded ER department. And because you’re married to him, instead of being stuck in the ER, you’re processed quickly and now you’re sitting inside of a private room.
You twiddle your thumbs and pick at your nails while you wait. Bruce hasn’t come to the hospital yet, but you know that he’s got his hands full with the accident.
You can’t stop replaying the accident in your head. One second bantering with Bruce and the next staring at what would of been your grave if he hadn’t reached you in time.
All you want right now is him. To feel his arms wrapped around you as he promises you that everything is going to be just fine.
The sound of the handle of the door catches your attention. As the door to your room begins to open again, you expect to see another nurse or, perhaps, even Alfred. It’s neither. Instead it’s the one person that you want above all others.
“Hey, sweetheart,” Bruce says as he steps into the room and shuts the door behind him. He hasn’t dressed himself well at all. It honestly looks like he’s thrown his clothes on. He probably did exactly that as well. Anything to get to you faster.
“Bruce!” Already you can feel the tears that you were sure you had run out of forming again.
He crosses the room in two strides and sits next to you on the bed. His arms immediately wrap around you and he holds you close as you start to cry again. Your hands grip his, rather hastily put on, shirt and, much like earlier, he rubs your back.
“You’re alright, you’re alright. I’m here, now. You’re safe,” he tells you softly. The words from earlier sound so much better actually coming from Bruce’s voice instead of Batman’s.
“I was terrified. I thought that I was going to…” You can’t bring yourself to say it. The thought has you shaking. If he had just been a few more minutes later…
“I know,” he replies, silencing any thoughts you’re having. “I was terrified as well.”
You pull away and meet his gaze. He so rarely talks about the things that scare him. Always being the rock for everybody else. Even after years of being together, it’s still something he has difficulty with.
“You were scared?”
He nods, his hand coming up to cup your face. “Of course I was. As soon as I heard the crash and the line cut off…” He takes a deep breath, doing his best to keep what control he has left over his own emotions. “I was terrified that I wouldn’t reach you in time.”
You look at him for a moment, searching his eyes. He’s an open book to you right now. A swirl of emotions in his eyes. Regret, fear, anger, love. No doubt he’s replaying the events over and over again, much like you had been doing while you waited for him to arrive.
“I knew you would save me,” you tell him. “I didn’t lose faith at all in that.”
Bruce half smiles at your words. “I vowed I would, didn’t I?”
It’s your turn to nod as you curl back up into his embrace. Indeed he has. From the very first “I love you”s to your wedding day, and beyond. Ever since you found out about his mask.
You stay glued to him, even after the doctor comes in. Bruce talks to him while continuing to comfort you. It turns out that you haven’t broken anything, which you already knew considering you can move everything just fine. You’re only badly bruised, both from the seatbelt and how Batman had yanked you out of your car. The doctor clears you, along with giving a prescription for some painkillers, before letting you both know it’s fine to get you home.
Bruce thanks the doctor for the both of you. When he’s gone, he presses a kiss to your head.
“Sorry,” he whispers.
“Better bruised than dead,” you murmur.
“Exactly. Come on, let’s get you home.”
He helps you up to your feet and, keeping an arm wrapped around you, leads you out of the hospital. You don’t leave out of the main entrance. Instead he takes you out a side entrance that opens up into an alleyway; where the batmobile is waiting.
You freeze when you see it. Are you going to be able to get back into a vehicle so soon? You really don’t know as your heart thumps hard against your chest.
Bruce pulls you impossibly closer, his lips brushing against your ear. The reminder of his presence helping to soothe you again. “Hey, it’s the safest car in Gotham. We’ll be just fine. I promise, sweetheart. I wouldn’t let you go anywhere near it if I didn’t think you would be safe,” he does his best to reassure you.
You know that it’s the only way you’re getting back to the manor. It’s not like Bruce can teleport the both of you. Well, not yet anyhow. You nod and he takes your hand in his own, squeezing it, as he leads you over to the passenger door.
The entire drive back to the cave, Bruce drives at a slower pace than he normally would. Being mindful of both the roads and yourself. While you keep your eyes focused on your hands, continuing to pick at your nails. Only stopping for a moment when his hand comes to rest on your knee and gives you another reassuring squeeze.
Once you’re back home, he gets you settled in front of the fireplace with him; with your back against his chest. Both of you changed into your pajamas and a cup of hot chocolate, with extra marshmallows, in your hands.
“What about Gotham?” you ask.
“Robin and Batgirl have it handled. I’m not leaving your side unless Joker breaks out. After tonight, you should be pampered for at least the next month.”
You laugh. “A month! That’s a bit excessive isn’t it? You’ll get sick of me.”
Bruce shakes his head as he leans in and kisses you, humming at the taste of chocolate on your tongue. “Nothing is too excessive for my wife and, besides, how could I ever get sick of you? If anything you’ll get sick of me when I refuse to leave your side ever again.”
You laugh again. “And what about Batman?”
“Like I said, unless it involves Joker, Gotham will have to make do for the time being. You are far more important.”
You have never doubted his love or devotion to you. That still doesn't stop the warm feeling or the way your heart skips every time he reminds you how important you are to him.
“I love you so much,” you tell him, your eyes meeting his. There is a swirl of emotions in his eyes that are hard for you to figure out with the way the light of the fire dances in them.
“Not nearly as much as I love you.”
You could easily enter the usual play argument that occurs anytime one of you tries to one up the other on how much you love each other. But, with everything that has happened tonight, you simply don’t have the energy. The hot chocolate is also making you feel so warm and sleepy.
You set the mug aside, as to not spill anything and burn yourself, and curl up against him. Your head coming to rest against his chest, right where you can hear the steady beating of his heart. You don’t fight as your eyelids shut and you quickly fall asleep against him.
So quickly, in fact, that you completely miss the way Bruce’s arms tighten around you, as he presses a kiss to the top of your head, and the shaky breath that leaves him.

Hero: Damian Wayne x reader
(family rules finale)
Tumblr media
A/N: Family rules finale, ladies and gentleman! Forgive me, if I got a litlte rusty during hiatus, hope you'll still enjoy <3
Family rules masterlist
***
„Let go of me, Nightwing! She needs my help, can’t you see that-“
“Hush.”
“She is being-“
“Shut up Damian!”
Now, this, this was surprising.
Dick Grayson, the forever cool, positive and optimistic seemed to be losing his cool, clenching fists and jaw. He was not blind, duh! He saw what this asshole was doing to his daughter.
Dick was always very sensitive when it came to any type of violence and the fact that Y/N was the girl of whom Damian took a liking to was intensifying his fury tenfold.
Damn, he himself was hanging by a thread, forcing himself to not barge inside and take matters in his own, gloved hands.
But there were so many things and variables to consider. From what Dick knew about Y/N (cause Damian was not talking about her at all) she was rather withdrawn (reasons in the form of the scene unfolding in their eyes), with no friends, who would care for her. The only person who stalked her in wanting to talk was – Damian. Therefore technically, if anyone were to wander by her house at his hour would be him. And at the moment he was about to barge inside in his Robin suit.
And since Dick also knew Y/N was smart and good at connecting the dots there was a heavy risk of her figuring out that Damian=Robin. And then all the rest, getting up the hill to the identity of Batman himself.
And despite the attitude Dick had to many of Bruce’s rules, the secret identity one was a priority and the one he was not going to break.
Yet.
Lost in thoughts, he didn’t even notice Damian taking off and rushing over the lawn to her window.
“Damn! Robin, come back here!”
As if that could stop him.
If the situation wasn’t so dramatic, it would be truly hilarious.
If Y/N and/or her father were to look outside the window they would notice Nightwing and Robin struggling against one another on their estate, pulling at the cape, standing on feet, throwing batons and waving katana around.
Like freaking comic characters in a kids’ show that intends to be funny but gives the adult a heavy cringe from embarrassment.
“I’m going in!” Damian yelled.
“You are not-“
“AGGHG!”
“Stop it!” Dick did a few backflips, miraculously escaping the blade. Damn, this was so much easier a few years ago, but now his older body was a little less agile even if Grayson refused to admit it. Meanwhile, 17 year old Damian seemed to be at the peak of his abilities. Cutting Dick’s opportunity to grab Robin’s cape and hold him midair with his feet dangling furiously.
“She needs my help!”
“Actually the help would be really helpful here. “ third voice, mocking, cut into the discussion, making both Dick and Damian stop.
Y/N was leaning on the doorframe, arms folded on her chest, look of pure contempt in her eyes as he observed the two vigilantes doing only what could be described as fooling around with each other. Her cheek was reddened and there was a faint stream of blood running down her arms.
So much for Dick’s masterplan.
“Thanks for nothing, you two.” She mocked, raising an eyebrow.
“Um…” Damian stuttered, suddenly feeling awfully called out on his behavior.
“Hm? You were saying?”
“Nothing…” he looked down like a schoolboy, while Dick was standing a little behind, biting the inside of his cheek to not burst out laughing at him.
“I’m sorry, Nightwing, is this funny to you?” Y/N was too perceptive for their own good. “Please, so share the positives you see in the situation.”
“Um…” this time Dick was the one blushing like a kindergartener, caught stealing sweets from the top shelf.
“I actually thought you were supposed to help people?”
“Um…”
“Wow, how do you help anyone if you can’t even make one sentence?”
“Ok, enough.” Finally Damian managed to get his tongue back “this is enough.”
“Is it?”
God, she was infuriating even now. He was trying to help her (again) and she was pushing him away (again).
“Stop it.”
“Or what?”
“Or- or-“
“Or what?” she repeated, her eyes fixed on him, almost drilling a hole into his masked face.
“You’re being ridiculous!”
“You’re the one playing catch on my lawn!”
“I’m trying to free you from the abuser your father is!”
“Well look how it worked!”
“It would be much better if you try to be a little more appreciative!”
“Screw you!”
“What?!”
This girl never made any sense. How was it possible that he fell for this chaotic mess of a human being. She was making him crazy. Crazy! And not in a good sense.
“How long have you been sitting on that tree?”
“Well, um-“
“This is my fault-“ Dick tried to interject but she sent him a look so full of fury he had to take a step back with hands raised in surrender.
“I’m not talking to you.” She growled to Dick, turning back to Damian.  “I am so done! I’m done! Men are just completely useless!”
“But-“
“You know what, heroes are useless!”
Now this hurt.
“This is not fair-“ Damian started, but it was too late. Months of abuse, fear and holding her emotions back for the sake of everyone else found a way out in the wave of white fury, blinding her rational thinking. She was so tired of waiting for someone to help her. Exhausted from hoping for a prince on a white horse to come and take her away from this place.
She was not helpless.
And this line of thinking got her into the crazy decision of taking matters in her own hands.
“Y/N! Y/N, where are you going!? Wait! Wait, what are you going to do?! Stop!”
As she turned on her heel, blind and deaf to any external stimuli, walking back towards the house like  a mad woman Damian immediately took after her. And Dick did too.
If Y/N was a supernatural being this would be the moment for her to go into a magical change in the cloud of white light.
This would be the moment for her to get a silly, fairy-like outfit, a cape and/or ability to fly and beam lasers from her eyes.
But this was reality and not a manga show.
And she was a hero even without a latex costume.
Or maybe – that was what made her more of a hero.
***
“Please remind me to never make that girl angry.”
Damian scoffed, but there was a hint of smugness in his voice as he responded.
“That was something, wasn’t it?”
Half an hour later, Dick and Damian were leaning over the same tree by her house, watching her father being taken by the police.
Shockingly (or maybe not so much), pushed to the very edge of her endurance, Y/N had walked inside the house, and with zero second guessing or doubts, had called the police, reporting the abuse she had been experiencing from her parent.
Damian had never been more proud of anyone in his entire life.
And she did it without his help.
Which under any other circumstances would probably make him mad, cause he was supposed to be the savior, but hey – having a girl who could hold her own was even better.
“You know anyone else would probably call her mental—”
“Hey! Hold your tongue Grayson!”
“Hm? Why?” Dick smirked “getting territorial?”
“Shut up!”
“She’s not even your girl, you know.”
“I said shut up!”
“Please don’t start again-“
***
“Hey Y/N, can we talk?”
She was talking to the policeman, giving her explanations on the situation, looking a little fatigued from everything that happened, but upon hearing his voice turned around.
“I don’t know, I am a little busy here-”
“I’ll take it from here, officer.” Damian cut off not only her words but any possible objection from the policeman, gently grabbing her forearm and leading her away from the crime scene.
“Where’s your babysitter?” she teased, seeing as Nightwing was nowhere to be found.
“He was getting a little too fearless for his own good so I bound him to the tree.”
“You’re joking.” She chuckled, “wait. You are joking right? Please tell me, you didn’t actually trap Nightwing on my tree.”
“Relax. He’s not in immediate danger. At least not at the moment.”
“The hell does that-?”
“How are you feeling?” he interrupted her again, studying her face from behind the mask, taking in the pale face, tired eyes and relief mixed with worry, etched on her face. “And do not try to put on a brave face.”
“How do you think I feel?”
“I’m not a mind reader.”
“Too bad. Cause that’s not something I could explain in a few words. At the moment I am mostly exhausted. But also a bit of fear.”
“Of what?”
“Future. Now that my dad would probably end up locked up… what will happen to me?”
“Y/N…”
“You know I never asked you how you know my name.”
“Y/N…”
“Do you learn the names of everyone in Gotham? Didn’t take you for the considerate type.”
“How is it possible that you switch between acting vulnerable and mean so swiftly?” he mocked, hiding the fact that her words actually did hit a nerve.
“Maybe it’s my superpower.” She sighed.
“Y/N…”
“Hm?” she kept her eyes on the ground, her mind suddenly starting to spin as she only now started considering the consequences of her actions.
Damian cupped her cheek, softly, unable to stop himself from the gesture of affection, guiding her eyes on him.
“You did the right thing.” He whispered
“Did I?” her voice shook a little “then why does it feel like I’m –”
“No. No, don’t even finish that sentence.” He rubbed her skin, shocking not only her but also himself. “You were the victim here and he deserves everything that is going to happen to him now. He had it coming. Forcing you to get information on Waynes? Using you to get to me and –“
They both froze.
Shit.
Shit, he said “to me”. And there was no way she wouldn’t catch up on that, even with her tiredness and distraction.
“Are you—”
“Y/N.”
“Damian?”
“You can’t tell anyone.”
“I know, but- but why-? How-? When-?”
“Not now.”
“But-“
“Not now, Y/N.” he cupped both her cheeks, keeping eyes on her “Not with so many people around. Later, I promise.”
“You promise, huh? And I’m just supposed to trust you? How long have you known about-“
“A few days, I swear. If I knew earlier than-“ he clenched his jaw, his hold on her becoming a little tighter. “then I wouldn’t hold myself responsible for my own actions towards your father. Bastard.”
“Well it’s done now…”
“I’m not leaving you alone, you know that?”
“I didn’t.”
“Ouch.”
“Oh, don’t act like that actually did hurt you.”
“And if I told you it did, would you kiss it better?”
“Robin!” she teased “are you flirting?”
Damian blushed in response, feeling like a total idiot and completely out-of-character.  Damn Grayson and damn trying to copy his stupid smug way of talking to girls. Clearly it wasn’t working for him.
“I- I mean, I-“
She only smiled softly, standing on her tiptoes and kissing his cheek, letting her lips linger on the skin a little longer than necessary.
“That’s all you get for now.”
“But-“
“You got some heavy explaining to do. But on the good side? I won’t be used a snitch since now, so who knows where this goes…” she turned to walk away but he grabbed her hand and spun her around to him
“Y/N…”
“Hm?”
Screw his attitude. Screw copying Grayson and keeping his distance. Screw the pretenses. Screw everything.
He pulled her into his chest, softly, almost shyly pressing her lips to his, feeling the tips of his ears burning. He was kissing her. She was kissing him. And it felt…
Good.
So good.
Not like that first kiss at the Wayne’s gala when they simply got lost in the moment.
No.
This one was more deliberate, more mature and definitely wanted by both of them. As if everything that happened in the short span of a few months made them more aware of their own emotions and needs.
And even though it did not clear all the misunderstandings and understatements, it was a good way forward, with his lips moving against hers, and her nose brushing affectionately over his.
Soft, sweet and seemingly innocent, but filled with so many feelings simmering under the surface.
“I’ll take care of you…” he whispered, pulling back after a moment, connecting their foreheads.
“I don’t need you to take care of me…”
“I hate you. You’re ruining the moment, Y/L/N. I am going to take care of you, whether you like it or not.”
She chuckled.
“What’s so funny?”
“If this thing between us is going to work, I seriously hope you are never going to change.”
Damian groaned internally.
She was going to make him go crazy in the foreseeable future.
But he was not going to let go.

I love Tim, he's such a chaotic little gremlin, and heres why.
(it does slowly get darker and more so me listing reasons on how Tim would be a great potential villain)
Figured out Batman's identity at nine years old all because he remembered a flip he only saw when he was 3
BLACKMAILED BATMAN INTO LETTING HIM BE ROBIN
Blown up multiple LoA bases (mainly for funzies)
Made an entire batmobile by hiding it in the batarang budget (again, mainly for funzies)
Tried to clone his best friend after he died (the best friend is already a clone, so Tim wanted a clone-of-a-clone)
Practically single handily saved his mentor from being lost in the time stream bc he saw a FUCKING PORTRAIT AND THOUGHT "huh, this dude looks so similar to bruce.. too similar"
Fell asleep while on a roller-coaster (was also on a date at the time, if i remember corectly)
He was about to kill Captain Boomerang as revenge for his dads death, and had to be talked out of it
His detective skills are on par with Bruce, so much so that Ra's (one of the people who trained Bruce before he became Batman) calls him Detective which is/was his title for Bruce
Faked having an uncle after his dad died just so he didn't have to get adopted
There was a mission where Tim became Batman, and used the gun that killed Bruce's parents to kill many of the rouges in Gotham, went back in time, and then that timeline was erased by threatening to SHOOT HIMSELF. not future-Tim, the gun weilding maniac, no, just normal robin-Tim
He broke Jason out of jail, despite the fact that he tried to murder him. Tim also broke Lynx (?) out of jail, when she tried to kill him too.
Despite many people saying he's the 'worst fighter in the family' he was literally trained by Lady Shiva, Rahul Lama, Shen Chi, Legless Master, Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Alfred Pennyworth, Cassandra Cain, and Barbra Gordon. All of which are amazing fighters, some of which are like, mass murderers i think (Lady Shiva, hello??)
A different future Tim came back to the past to kill Kate Kane (aka batwoman) and although she was saved, he didn't hold any regret.
Almost killed Johnny Warlock for almost killing Stephanie, and he only stopped because Batman showed up and reminded him of the no-killing rule and the fact that Robin is supposed to be Batmans light (which means that Tim didn't stop because he remembered murder is wrong, he stopped because batman says its wrong, if ya get what i mean)
Beat the Joker while Batman was out of country, on his first time patrolling the city on his own
And finally, he happily (and successfully) lies to Batman

JayTim Fic Rec List
Rooftops and Bookshops By Bi_Bats [Complete]
“You would do it again,” Tim concluded, sighing, his tone bitter.
Jason knew he wouldn’t. He didn’t think he could do it again. He sidestepped the question, tightening his hands around Tim.
“I’m worried about you,” he said, softly, and Tim heard every bit of the pain and hurt Jason kept so carefully hidden away.
He’d always thought it must have been easy for Jason to leave, since he seemed to just fall off the face of the planet, ignoring his calls, ignoring him.
He didn’t like being wrong.
Know Yourself By Bi_Bats [WIP]
“Don’t act like you don’t care about him," Jay snapped.
“You don’t fucking know me.” Jason pushed away from where he’d been leaning, his stance suddenly much less casual. It didn’t hide the way his ears had gone red, though.
“You’re still me. I know when we’re full of shit, alright?”
“Fuck you.”
“Fuck you.”
When Jay gets dropped in the wrong universe, he goes to the only person he knows will help him: Tim.
Gotham Ghoul By SapphyWatchesYouSleep (JupiterMelichios) [Complete]
Jason thought being put together out of spare parts meant he was the world's only human-ghoul hybrid. That was, until a child turned up on the Manor doorstep claiming to be Bruce's son. A Tokyo Ghoul AU
When the Lost are Welcomed Home By homeforthemissing [Abandoned]
Tim found Bruce in the time stream, but since leaving to find him, Tim has mostly disappeared from the family. He has minimal contact with them, excluding Jason. Tim brought Jason back into the Bat-fold, but will someone bring him back in before its too late?
In which Tim is an Omega and hiding it, this can only end one way.
Canticulum (FF | AO3) By ryssabeth (FF | AO3) [Complete]
The baby that was to be named Timothy Jackson Drake was born small and gray. But he had been born with music in him. The man that becomes Timothy Drake-Wayne is a disciple of silence.
Sortis (FF | AO3) By ryssabeth (FF | AO3) [WIP]
It is fate that brings them together, yet it is fate that tears them apart.
Throughout his long life, Tim has watched Jason come and go, live and die, all while he remains the same, never changing.
Fragmentum (FF | AO3) By ryssabeth (FF | AO3) [Complete]
Everyone has a breaking point. Tim has reached his. And he has succumbed to it.
Praetextus By ryssabeth (FF | AO3) [WIP]
The darkness closes in on him, smothering tightly. Tim doesn't know if he can handle being blind.
Don't Touch My Boy By MySecretStories [Complete]
Jason and Tim's relationship is purely out of convenience, and they know that.
But when Ra's al Ghoul decides he wants another heir from the "perfect mate", it forces their hand to make decisions about the two of them.
Magic Gave Me Robin By Cy_kun [WIP]
He opens his eyes, and stares up at the canopy of the four poster bed he's in. It takes a second, his vision is a bit blurry, but it clears up quick enough.
Two seconds.
Three seconds.
Four seconds.
Part of Jason keeps the count going, while the rest of him kind of just...seizes. Because he knows this canopy. He knows the the posts it's attached to. He—fuck—he knows the notch in the bottom left post he'd put in it when he'd stolen one of Bruce's batarangs when he was twelve and thrown it around like the stupid kid he'd been.
This was Jason's room.
Or, the one where Jason get's zapped with magic, wakes up in his teenage body, and decides to let the timeline know exactly how fucked it is. He also becomes the president of the Tim Drake Appreciation Club.
The Fate's Designs (Are Not For Our Eyes) By galkyrie [WIP]
"It's funny, Tim thinks, how he never wonders about his soulmate until he's bleeding out under the stars."
A story about soulmates, and how finding their way to one another was never going to run smooth.
Break Your Throne, Cut Your Hair By dukeaubergine [Complete]
Ra’s thought he could force Tim into marriage with an ancient magical artifact. He didn’t account for the magic recognizing his daughter’s protégé as a potential alternate groom.
Tim and Jason just have to survive the one-month engagement period without getting kidnapped, killed, or outed as fakers to the press. Then survive any assassins gate-crashing the wedding. Piece of cake, right?
…This might be easier if they’d actually tell the rest of the Bats what’s really going on.
Even If It Doesn't Make Sense By EdmundPevensiesQueen [WIP]
Tim had given up trying to lie to himself about how he felt about Jason, hating himself for his childhood hero-worship/crush on the second Robin for coming back. He knew the whole thing was pointless – Jason barely tolerated him, he knew that – so it was better to just acknowledge the feelings, process them, and get rid of them. The last time he’d had feelings for Jason, suppressing them hadn’t worked despite years of trying.
So here he was, asking Jason about what consoles he had because unfortunately this was as close as Jason was going to come to asking him on a date (oh my god, a Bat Kids hangout was the closest he was getting to a date - Damian was right, Tim was pathetic), and there was no way in hell Tim was going to say no, even if he hadn’t slept in over 24 hours. Besides, he knew he could easily make it to 48 if he had coffee.
If You Got Love To Get Done By dukeaubergine [Complete]
Tim didn’t expect to make so many big choices about her future at seventeen, but it’s just been that kind of a year. She wants to do better than her parents did, but can she really balance obligations to a kid and to the world?
Where is He? By lover_of_blue_roses [Complete]
Red Hood breaks into Teen Titan tower to terrorize his Replacement. He wants to make the Batman suffer, not for letting him die, but for letting the Joker live, and this is the best way to do that. However when he finds the new Robin… he's an omega in heat.
Tower of Fantasy By zabbaz [Complete]
Tim expects to have the tower all to himself this weekend. Why not indulge in one of his favorite sexual fantasies? Surely it won't end with him trying to fight a villain with a vibrator inside him…
Stay By darkdecay [Complete]
Tim and Jason think they've been hatefucking. Must be why Jason is willing to try anything to stay the night with Tim.
Nice To Meet You Again By TheLonelyRose [Complete]
When Jason first met Kitten, he was trying to stop Catwoman from stealing some fancy gem with Batman... Again. Ever since then, he would cross paths occasionally with the little girl, blossoming a friendship that would last for years. But, then he died. And, then he came back. And that little girl wasn't so little anymore.
Pain is Temporary By ole_ander [Complete]
After spending a year in a deep depression following Bernard's death, Tim is sent back to Gotham to train with the infamous Red Hood, Jason Todd. Evidently, Dick didn't do his research, because these two don't get along. And sometimes they get along too well. Either way, there's not a lot of crime fighting being done.
Stray Cat Strut By chibi_nightowl [Complete]
"There once was a little boy named Stray who became best friends with a Robin…" -OR- "I doubt you arranged this little meeting to discuss the finer points of the fashion disasters that are Gotham’s capes." Another low laugh and Red Hood took a cautious step forward. "I wouldn’t call that cat suit a disaster. You’ve certainly made the look your own." Stray wanted to snarl and settled for baring his teeth. "You could say that. What do you want from me, Hood?" Red Hood held his hands out in a placating gesture. "Nothing much. I just need you to get me into Arkham. I’m going to kill the Joker."
Sweet Treats By chibi_nightowl [Complete]
Jason smiles again. “You really like a challenge, don’t you?” “I love a good challenge,” Tim agrees, grinning back at his hero. “So do I.” Jason hesitates, then reaches out and runs his thumb over Tim’s cheek. It comes back red, which Tim swears could probably be from the amount of blood rushing to his face because Jason just touched him. “You always covered in frosting?” For once, Tim’s brain lines up with his mouth and he says something that sounds clever. “Only on special occasions.”
The Knight's Quest By chibi_nightowl [Complete]
Sir Timothy Drake never wanted to be a knight. But when his parents send him off on a quest to slay a dragon, what else was he to do? Of course, said dragon has his own thoughts on the matter and his counterproposal is much more enticing than a fiery death.
Masquerade (Whose Face is Behind the Mask?) By chibi_nightowl [Complete]
Every so often, someone would take it into their heads that a masquerade ball would be a fantastic idea and make it into the biggest event of the year. Sometimes, they were a smashing hit. And other times…things just got smashed.
The Dog Days of Summer By chibi_nightowl [Complete]
"Tim?" Jason asks cautiously. It's possibly the first time he has ever used his replacement's first name. Out loud at least. Or where he could hear him. Another whine and the big black dog opens an eye, gazing warily up at Jason. "Okay, you're awake. Not exactly sure what the protocol is here but if you know you're Tim Drake, whine twice for me."
The Accountant By chibi_nightowl [WIP]
The last thing Tim needed was to get involved with someone who worked for Gotham’s meanest crime lord—or was him. Either way, getting into bed with the Red Hood was a really bad idea.
Courting Disaster By chibi_nightowl [Complete]
The JayTim Mr. & Mrs. Smith-inspired AU you didn't know you wanted. When Tim and Jason meet in their civilian guises after their exit plans go wrong, it's lust at first sight. It's even worse when Wraith and the Red Hood cross paths for the first time. Sparks, knives, and bullets fly in this story of love, lust, attempted murder, and--most importantly--revenge.
Sanctuary By chibi_nightowl and PoisonBasil [Complete]
Jason has a brief moment to notice he has blue eyes that match the sky overhead when his soul wrenches, reaching out to snag and entwine with Tim’s. What. The. FUCK? Tim blinks quickly, brows narrowing as he takes note that something is happening but not sure what. But Jason does. He’s a dragon born and bred, he knows what this call is, the throbbing pulse he now feels alongside his own. Stories told to him by his parents before he was stolen from them are coming to life and all he wants is to scream his pain all over again. A soul bond. His soulmate is a fucking human.
A Stray Cat Surrounded By Bats By three_milks [WIP]
When Tim Drake's parents die, he is left in the care of billionaire Bruce Wayne. Tim will have to manage to keep his life as the notorious thief Stray a secret while trying to deal with everything that comes with living with Batman and Robin. He hopes that keeping his identity a secret isn't as difficult as it seems.
It's Written In The Stars By flavouess_fiction [WIP]
It was on the second day of first grade that Tim Drake understood that the pattern of rust-coloured stars on the palm of his hand meant more than just a birthmark. After a soulmate dies within a year the other half is expected to die or get themselves committed, Tim thought he'd moved past all of it until it was staring him in the face.
Trading Places By BeautyInTheLibrary [WIP]
11:59 PM It was a simple night, it was going so well, Jason was soaring on the wings of his name sake over the city he's lived in his whole life. While the civilians were mooning over the idea of receiving their soulmate dream at midnight of their fifteenth birthday (or the less common experience of switching into their bodies) Jason had better things to do! He was Robin! And that made him magic~ 12:00 AM ...What the hell was he doing on a random roof top when he was just swinging on a grapple line? What was with this camera, why....why could he see himself through the lens! JayTim Week 2024 Day One: Wing
Bad Habits By BeautyInTheLibrary [Complete]
It felt like several minutes passed before anything did happen and what had happened was that Tim felt gloved fingers slide into his long hair and gather the strands painfully into the fist. The hand grasped and used the hair to pull Tim’s head up off the floor and the pain forced a gasp out of him before he could help it. It didn’t stop till Tim was sitting upright and then his head and back was forced into the wall that was behind him, the force of it enough to knock one more noise out of him. “Well aren’t you lucky?” A voice, a mechanical voice finally spoke and alarms went off in Tim’s head. Oh no…that sounded too familiar for comfort. “I just got the best deal on the local bird, bought you for a song, I hope you’re grateful.” - Tim never listened to the people around him pointing out his bad habits, like not getting enough sleep or taking care of himself in the least. He always ignored and it had been fine. Until it wasn't and now he was stuck in the last sort of situation he had ever wanted to himself and really it was his own fault. To be fair, he's never passed out on roof top like this before or been kidnapped just to be auctioned off.
Searching Faces By Take_Me_To_My_Fragile_Dreams [WIP]
"I need your help," Tim says. "I need -" again, the liquid sloshes in his cup. He releases it to rub his hands over the fabric of his pants. "I need your help." "Do you?" She is usually not the one approached for these sorts of things. Jason gets the calls, and Roy charms his way into information. She is merely a companion, one that most people stay away from. "What sort of help do you require, Tim Wayne?" There’s a flinch, so minute anyone else would have missed it. He lets out a harsh breath and grabs for his drink once more. He yanks his mask down in one swift motion and brings the straw to his lips. He drinks like someone who hasn’t had water in days, with a single minded determination Kori has seen plenty of men use to go at bottles in dark lit bars. His face is flushed. The red comes through in blotchy patches made worse by the stark white that splatters the lower left of his jaw. On his cheeks are two reddened slashes. They start at the corners of his lips and cut up towards his ears in diagonal lines. "Sanctuary," he says, when his cup is empty and his mask is up once more. "I seek sanctuary." - In the aftermath of Joker's torture, Tim runs to the only place left he can think of.
Moss & Minnie By impravidus [Complete]
"Fuck." "That’s not a nice word." Tim’s head snaps up, his weapon drawn immediately. Sitting criss cross applesauce on his bed is… a little girl? "Uh… how did you get in here?" Tim asks slowly. She gives him an inquisitive look, clearly unbothered by the situation, and points at the ceiling. "Through the portal." OR: When girl kid versions of Tim and Jason pop into their lives from another dimension, they have to learn how to be parents. After moving in together, co-parenting two little girls together, and accidentally forming a fake relationship, they somehow fall in love along the way.
The Bird and The Hood (FF | AO3) By Green4AllSeasons (FF | AO3) [WIP]
Jason Todd was the Robin that Tim Drake could never be. Sharp, ruthless, angry. Tim didn't know it was possible that he could hate another person so badly yet also desperately seek his approval. But then Jason died, and Tim was left to pick up the pieces. Now, nearly seven years later, Jason has returned with a mission. But he's different… Angrier. And Tim isn't so sure if he wants to know this Jason at all.
To See Through You By onesillygoose [Complete]
Jason and Tim realize that they are more alike than they thought. But they're both too stubborn to let the other one in. Can the two former Boy Wonders make things work between them? Or will pride get in the way?
Can I Steal A Kiss or Two? By stellewrites [Complete]
"Did you come with anyone tonight, Tim?" Tim nodded and looked around for a moment before he jerked his head over to a young alpha in the center of the room. The dark-haired alpha had a strong arm wrapped possessively around the waist of a blonde beta woman and Jason watched as Tim winced when she lent in to kiss the alpha. Jason winced in sympathy. That explains why the kid was necking the drinks like they were water. "Why don’t you stick with me for the rest of the evening, huh? I’ll be much better company than either of them." he ducked his head to speak directly into Tim’s ear. "I haven’t got eyes for any other beta or even a ‘mega tonight, just you. Promise." Jason grinned at the dark blush that spread down Tim’s neck. - Handmaids Tale-esc au with omega Tim finding his feet after being bought by alpha Jason and taken into his pack.
Time Bomb Town By Moxibustion (RyuuzaKochou) [Complete]
In a world of scientifically proven psychic abilities, the practitioners - the so-called Talents - are called on to serve the public good. This is never more true than in Gotham, where the Wayne Parapsychic Institute works diligently for justice and peace in what is otherwise a mecca of rogue Talents. Bruce Wayne is one of the most powerful Talents on record; a Prime. So are all his children. All, that is, except for Tim Drake; a winged donkey to their high-flying Pegasus. Fed up with the constant reminders that he will never be able to catch up to their flight into the stars and beyond, he leaves. Trying to put the shattered pieces of his life together, he comes across Jason Todd; former member of the Wayne Parapsychic Institute and a powerhouse in terms of Talent, alive in an asylum years after everyone assumed him dead. Tim is determined to help Jason find a way back. Jason might end up teaching him a way forward.

So the dpxdc fandom has been trying to come up with more ways to get Danny into Gotham without relying on the old Bat-adoption trope (though it's a fun trope that I love), which typically either means aging him up or giving him a fake id and making him live alone in Gotham pretending to be aged up, but personally I think we can streamline the process a bit by borrowing liberally from Marsalias' fic Adoption (if you haven't read it, definitely do, it's a really good fic) and sticking Actual Master of Time Clockwork in Gotham as yet another weird rich cryptid.
For those who haven't read that fic, the basic premise is that Clockwork decides to adopt Danny completely legally through both ghost and human methods. He is required to establish a human persona for this, which I find hysterical. He and Danny end up living in an incredibly creepy manor that they both love. We can easily uproot that thing and plop it into Gotham. If we want to be particularly funny about it, we can sandwich Wayne Manor between Clockwork and the Drakes to make them all neighbors.
Now what you do from there is obviously subject to whatever story you're wanting to tell, but there's a couple fun things I want to suggest:
Clockwork doesn't try very hard on his human persona. He still dresses like a time god in a fantasy novel (I'm a little in love with 13thcat's designs so I like to imagine his human form looks a little like this). You have to live, what, 40-50 years in a city to be established? Sure. Why bother aging visibly in this time? That's not necessary! What does he do for work? Uhhhh he's a woodworker who makes clocks. That's why he has millions or even billions of dollars, obviously.
5-year-old Bruce Wayne is OBSESSED with Clockwork (aka Charles Worth). This is baby's first incredibly pure crush. This is your really cool kindergarten teacher that you remain a little in love with well into adulthood, except instead of being nice CW is just really weird and doesn't care about what 5-year-olds are able to discuss. Baby Bruce does that little kid "I'll marry you when I grow up" thing that everyone finds adorable but CW says "there are many timelines where you get married, though never to me. Some options are better than others, but I won't tell you about them" because what else would he say.
When Danny shows up in Gotham decades later as CW's adopted kid Bruce is zeroed in on all the gossip. His interest is based entirely on his childhood obsession though so he uses absolutely zero Batman skills to investigate the situation and therefore finds nothing weird about Danny's background. The batkids find this hilarious because there is Clearly something weird going on with that kid.
Clockwork could easily solve all of the Bats' problems and tell them the answers to all the investigations they're doing but why would he do that???? That's boring. He's vibing in his new house with his cool liminal son why would he be worried about *checks notes* the hundreds of people dying to rogue attacks nearby.
Despite never being genuinely helpful he DOES randomly drop in-universe lore that no one would've figured out otherwise. Usually he does this about six months after it would've been really nice to know.
He doesn't do this out of malice he just doesn't intervene in things normally and if he does, it's only by request. The Bats (besides Batman because he's still oblivious) are too worried about what he might ask for in exchange to make requests though they know he's powerful but they are totally wrong because he's just sitting there baking bread thinking "hm I wonder why Timothy never asked me to help him get Batman back from being lost in the time stream, I could've done that really easily without changing too much. Oh well, whatever makes him happy."
Danny also never makes requests but that's because CW went a bit too hard on teaching him messed up karmic lessons about interfering with time so Danny just assumes it's always a bad idea to ask.

Jason’s death broke you almost beyond repair, sending you into a dark pit that you struggled to claw yourself from. But what about your baby boy? What about what happened to him? And could you ever save him like you should have done years ago?
Warnings: ANGST, lots about Jason’s death, kidnapping, Jason needs a hug, references to Damian’s conception, I repeat shit tons of angst, reader wants to die for a while, swearing, descriptions of scars, insults thrown at reader, references to murder

You didn’t think being a mother was ever in your life plan, it wasn’t like you didn’t want children, you just never expected it to happen. Then, a little bird named Dick trotted into your life, bringing along with him a man who you knew was your soulmate. And a few years later, things got even better.
A boy, barely 11 years-old, tried to steal the tires off of the bat-mobile. And less than 24 hours later, he became a Wayne. Life was good, for a while. You did your best to provide your boys with as normal a life as possible given the circumstances and they seemed to flourish. That is until Jason was a month shy of his 14th birthday.
You remember that night in vivid detail like a horrible nightmare you couldn’t escape. Bruce had been silent on the coms after the explosion making a deep sense of unease settle in your gut. You remember little Jason’s bright yellow cape saturated with red, the fabric wrapped tightly around your son’s body, shielding you from the horror.
Bruce made eye-contact with you and you knew, you knew your little jay-bird had been ripped from you before his life could even really begin. The scream that echoed through the cave as you fell to your knees still haunts Alfred and Bruce to this day. The utter despair and rage of a mother who lost their baby rattling their bones.
For a long time, you blamed Bruce. Once Jason had been buried beneath his favourite tree on the grounds, you stopped speaking to your husband. You moved to the other side of the manor, refusing to eat or even sleep. You wanted so badly to be with your boy again and you wished every day that you had been the one who died, not him.
The appearance of Tim saved you. That smart little boy who wouldn’t take no for an answer wormed his way into your heart. He helped gather the pieces of your heart and stick them back together, even if there were a few shards that lay with your Jason.
Bruce welcomed you home with open arms and you both were finally able to grieve together. You became a united front once more, able to face any situation with the knowledge that you weren’t alone.
But nothing could have prepared you for this.
With a pained groan, your mind emerged from the darkness of unconsciousness. Your eyelids felt heavier than normal as you struggled to open them but eventually, you were successful. As far as you could tell from the dim light streaming through the windows, you were in an abandoned apartment. It stank of stale urine and cigarettes.
You huffed and glanced down to find that you had been tied to an old dining chair. Your gaze lifted to the door which was only a few feet in front of you. If you could bounce on the seat with enough force, you might be able to shatter the old wood and make a run for it.
“Don’t even fucking think about it.” The deep voice that spoke from the darkness further into the apartment startled you but you regained your composure quickly, after all this wasn’t your first rodeo.
“What do you want? Money? Leverage?” The man chuckled and you saw the shadow of his figure move. From what you could tell, he was huge.
“No, we just need to have a little conversation without Mr Wayne meddling.” Your stomach dropped. Who the fuck was this guy? But before you could retort, he stepped from the shadows.
The red of his helmet was what struck you first. The metal was smooth save for the white slits for his eyes, even to you who had faced the Joker head on, it was incredibly intimidating. Then emerged the maroon bat on his chest so like the symbol your husband sported. Then the two guns strapped to his thighs.
Anger rushed through your veins before you could stop it. “Red Hood.” You spat.
“Very good!” He replied sarcastically. “I’m glad I made an impression.” He walked casually over to you, his goliath body towering over you. The old floorboards creaked under his weight as he moved with the grace of a man who had spent his whole life being a soldier.
Your face remained stern as he approached, not showing even a lick of emotion. Your husband’s words echoed through your mind. “Do not show your fear, give them nothing.”
“You’ve already killed more than 20 people in Gotham, I don’t think that’s a great impression to give.”
“20 people that you know of.” He snarked, a thick Gothomite accent slipping through his carefully crafted facade. “It isn’t like your beloved husband is doing much to clean up the streets.”
He walked casually behind where you were bound and tugged on your restraints. You flinched as the rope dug into your plush stomach. “I mean he couldn’t even kill the son of a bitch that murdered your precious ‘baby bird’.” He hissed, voice full of raw hatred.
Ice ran through your veins. You couldn’t answer him, too shocked that he knew of Bruce’s double life. “I mean what kind of a man replaces his son less than a year after he was beaten to death with a crowbar! And you know what makes it even worse?” His face was now right beside yours, his mask pressed against your ear as he whispered his next words. “You let him.”
“You have no clue what you’re talking about!” You crumbled, you couldn’t help it. The pain of Jason’s death was all-too-present in your lives. “I died the same day he did.”
“And yet you’re still breathing.” He moved away, turning his back to you. “And I know why, it’s because you weren’t really his mother. You just took him in as a little pet project because you were a bored housewife with no one to nag since your Brucie was out fucking other women. If you were really my mother, you would have killed yourself a long time ago.”
A gloved hand reached up and undid the hidden clasp in his helmet. The metal fell away easily, revealing a mop of pitch black hair that covered the back of his pale neck. “Poor Mrs Wayne, stuck in that big house all alone with so much love to give but no one to give it to. Jesus Christ, no wonder Dick left, you are so stifling.”
He huffed through his nose as if this whole thing was one big cosmic joke before Red Hood finally turned to face you once more. “Well mommy, how does it feel to know that your jay-bird is a murderer?”
“Oh god.” You whimpered as you took him in. Jason’s face was covered with the silvery lines of old scars, including a large one that curled up from the corner of his lip all the way up his cheek, giving him a snarled smile. His eyes were no longer the soft hazel that they once were but now an almost supernatural green. A slash of white cut through his dark hair.
He was so different but he was still Jason. “My baby.” Tears quickly rolled down your full cheeks. “You’re alive.” You didn’t fight against your bonds anymore, you couldn’t. It felt like your body was shutting down as shock set it.
Jason scoffed at your tears. “Oh so now you wanna start crying? Fucking pathetic.” He rolled his eyes.
“My boy, my boy.” You cried. He was alive, all this time he was alive and you hadn’t found him. Guilt settled heavily in your gut and suddenly it was like it was 5 years ago. “I’m so sorry.”
“You’re just sorry that now you have to face the consequences of your actions.” You shook your head. “Or are you sorry that you weren’t a better mommy?” He asked mockingly.
“I’m so sorry Jason. I’m sorry. I love you so much.” You were in near hysterics now. “I love you.”
But evidently, that was the wrong thing to say because with an explosive amount of power, Jason threw his helmet at the far wall. The metal dented upon impact, shattering the cheap drywall. “No you don’t! You never did!” He blazed with an anger you had never seen before.
“I do. You were the best thing to happen to me Jason. You’re my baby. I’ll love you forever.” And for a split second, you saw the rage melt away and what was left was that scared little kid who just needed a guiding hand.
“Fuck you! You’re just a fucking trophy wife who can’t even keep her husband in her own bed!” He screamed into your face but you did not flinch.
“I love you.” You repeated, your tone unwavering.
“You aren’t even my real mother!” His face was red with emotion, just the same way it used to when he was upset or frustrated.
“I love you.”
“I don’t love you!” He shouted back but his eyes could no longer meet yours and his hands were shaking.
“I love you.” Your voice was soft now, just barely a whisper but you knew he heard you. He shot forward, slipping a knife from some hidden pocket into his palm. The ropes that held you fell away just as he collapsed into your arms.
You did not hesitate, you wrapped him up as tightly as you could, Jason’s head falling to the crook of your neck as your fingers tangled in his hair. “I love you my Jason.” Tears soaked through your shirt as he sobbed, his huge chest heaving with his pain.
“I was so scared. I just wanted you and you weren’t there. There was so much fire and blood.” Thick arms wound around your waist, squeezing you harshly. “I wanted my mommy.”
“I’m here now. I’m never letting you go again, never.”
He nuzzled further into you and you almost didn’t catch his quiet “I love you momma.”
“I love you more.”
And that’s where Dick found you hours later, kneeling on the dirty floor of a condemned building, Red Hood asleep in your arms as you sang him a lullaby.
Anon request: 3.The boys did something wrong and she punish them by (whatever you want to do) and one of the replies, “you’re not My Mom!”

I decided to create a masterpost or two with all the reblogs that I like in hopes that when someone sends out the “help me find that post” I can find it faster. It will be added to slowly because I do not have the patience to do it all at once. Also in no particular order of preference.
Keep in mind none of these posts are my works and I do not claim them as such.
If you see *** they are really good prompts with lots of reblogs.
Will be edited later, last updated: 1-28-25

Remember me as small (I fear I've swallowed the sun whole)
comfort came against my will - series masterlist here
Tumblr media
pairing: mentioned dick grayson x reader, platonic bruce wayne x reader
length: 900
genre: fluff, hurt/comfort
warnings: bruce is a sort of father figure to reader, reader kind of has a meltdown, dick is idk downstairs partying while this happens
a/n: soft launching Good Dad Bruce Wayne here before I let y'all have the bruce wayne verse, I think it's nice to read it isn't always easy before this but it's unnecessary
Tumblr media
You're standing in Bruce's study when he finds you, drink in one hand while the other stays wrapped around your own waist - like a child clinging to their parent, except the only person you had to cling to was yourself. You don't move when he approaches, quietly closing the door behind him and coming to stand next to you, eyeing where the joint contract of your company's new deal with Wayne Industries sits framed on his wall amongst his various other professional achievements.
"Have I made enough of myself?" you ask quietly, and the tone of your voice sends warnings through Bruce's head. He's heard you like that before - small and scared and tired. Unsure. And you never let yourself be seen as unsure. But he'd seen it a few times, many years ago when he'd first met you, a lost child with your hackles raised too high to let him help you. He didn't like hearing that voice coming from you, especially not now when you were here in his home - somewhere where you should be safe and happy.
"What do you mean, sweetheart?" he prompts gently, tenderly pulling your drink out of your hands and setting it on a nearby table. You look at him with wide, watery eyes and his heart clenches.
"Have I done enough?" you whisper, as if speaking any louder would tear holes in the blanket you've pulled over your emotions. "I'm not small anymore, right? Not like I was. I… I'm bigger now. I'm good now. I grew into something good, right? I made… I made something of myself… didn't I?"
"If you made any more of yourself, sweetheart, you'd outgrow the sun," he whispers back as he takes one of your hands in both of his, flipping it so that your palm is facing up and he can smooth over the tension under your skin with gentle thumbs and soft pressure.
"Do you remember when I was small?" you ask tentatively, keeping your eyes trained on your joined hands while he keeps his own trained on you.
"Yes," he says easily, squeezing your hand in acknowledgement. I'm here, it meant. I'm here and I remember you. "Although you were hardly small, even then. Your heart was so big, you just needed time to grow into it."
"Did I grow up well?" your voice wavers and Bruce pulls you closer to him by your joined hands before placing your palm on his chest over his heart. I'm here. I'm here and I'm real and I remember you. He hopes you can feel that through the beating of his heart.
"You grew up perfectly," he says, conviction clear in his voice. "And I couldn't be more proud." You make a small, wounded sort of sound at that and your breath hitches in a way he knows means you're about to cry. He begins to move to pull you into him but pauses when you brace yourself on your own two feet, determinedly steadying yourself on your own against the tidal wave of your emotions.
"Bruce?" you ask. He hums in response.
"I want to go back to being small." That throws him. Of all the confessions that could have passed your lips, that wasn't one he was expecting. The tears that begin to stream down your face, at least, he's prepared for. "I want to be small again, I - I want to go back to when I was small and you offered to love me and take me in and - and I want to say yes this time." You're really crying now, hot tears streaking your cheeks and your chest heaving. "I should've let you when you offered and it's too late and I just - I want to go back to when I could've been loved because I can do it right this time I can say yes I -"
Bruce stops you then, finally, shushing you gently (but firmly, in that authoritative, fatherly way that he does) and pulls you closer to him so that you can bury your face in his chest and sob into the fabric of his dress shirt. He holds you like that for a good long while, doing his best to soothe you despite the worry that knots in his stomach. This isn't like you, he thinks. He doesn't like seeing you collapse like this. A part of him, though, although guilty, is almost relieved - pleased that you've turned to him instead of managing it on your own. As much as he hates to see you cry, he would always rather be there than turn away from you.
"Listen to me very closely, sweetheart," he says gently, once your sobs have quieted and calmed down to little sniffs and hiccups. You pull away to look at him. "It's not too late," he promises. "You're always home here - always. And I'll always be here. And… and I do love you. I've never been the best at showing it. I'm sure - I'm sure Dick's told you enough about that." You huffed out a laugh.
"Yea, uh, he's mentioned it."
"Yea," Bruce says, shifting his weight. "But, I do love you, and you're just as much my child as the others. I'm sorry I… I'm sorry I didn't realize you needed to hear that sooner. I'm sorry I didn't help more. I thought that maybe letting you keep yourself upright was the best thing to do. I didn't want to push, I - I was so afraid of pushing you away. But I never, ever, wanted you to feel unloved. You're home here, I promise."

Hello there! I was wondering if you could help me with some comic recs. I've been looking to read the Batman's-lost-in-the-time-stream stories specifically the ones where Tim tracks down evidence of Bruce not being dead (blowing up the LoA and losing his spleen in the process etc), but I find it tricky to pin down the exact comic names and numbers. I figured asking was worth a shot since you seem to know your way around the various continuities. Thank you! 💙
Hi! I will freely admit that I had to Google a lot of this, because I haven't read most of those comics since they originally came out and my memory is fuzzy, but I do think I can at least point you in the right direction. The majority of what you're looking for re: Tim is going to be in Red Robin, but a lot of this storyline spilled over kind of everywhere and crosses into several smaller event storylines, but as best as I can remember/find: (Note: These are all comics from around 2008-2010, so when you go looking for them, keep them separate from a lot of the current ongoings that have reached these numbers again. XD)
Bruce "dies" in the Final Crisis mini-series
Portions of that story also spill over into Batman R.I.P. 2008 (Batman vol. 1 issues #676–681). For memory, it's a separate story from the fight with Darkseid that "killed" Bruce, but aspects of it are intertwined with that main story, so feel free to skim if you want.
"Nightwing: The Great Leap" (vol. 2, issues #147-153) is part of the Batman R.I.P. storyline that will lead into Last Rites and Battle for the Cowl
The final issues of the Robin vol. 2 series, issues #175-183, are also part of the lead-up to the Last Rites storyline (and then part of the main storyline itself)
Last Rites is spread out across Batman #682-685, Detective Comics #851-852, Nightwing #151-153, Robin #183
Okay, for Battle for the Cowl storyline, there's a lot going on, but you can read the three issue mini series (Battle for the Cowl #1-3) and then kind of pick-and-choose what you want from the tie-in oneshots. I'm not sure how important most of them are, if you're just here for main Batfam drama, but the DC fandom wiki has a good list of them all.
This leads us into the Batman Reborn storyline, which is Dick as Batman and Damian as Robin and there's a lot of comics going on at this time that are dealing with the general fallout but not necessarily specifically about Bruce being lost in time. But I really liked this era, so of course I'd recommend reading it anyway.
Red Robin is where you're going to find the "Tim really looks like he's having a mental breakdown and goes off to find Bruce" content that you're looking for, those issues are the prime material for it, just that there's context spilling everywhere first before you get to them.
Batman and Robin from 2009 is Dick and Damian's side of everything that was going on--they do have other stuff they have to deal with, they're fighting against all the usual cases in Gotham popping up, but the "Bruce is lost in time" story does have a lot of context here as well, that Dick actually is doing research into this as well.
Early on in both of the above two comic runs (within about six issues or so) was an event called Blackest Night where all the dead came back to life and it's mostly about that, but the Batman tie in issues had Tim coming back to Gotham and the issue was raised of, "wait, why does Bruce's corpse look all wrong?" and people start to believe that Bruce is alive. I'd say read the two Batman tie-in issues for sure and at least skim the main Blackest Night #1-8 for anything Bat-related.
Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne #1-6 is Bruce's side of his "death" and eventual return.
Bruce Wayne: The Road Home is the follow-up/aftermath of that and is spread out across several oneshots and the order is generally: Batman #703 (prelude) --> Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Batman and Robin #1 --> Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Red Robin #1 --> Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Outsiders #1 --> Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Batgirl #1 --> Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Catwoman #1 --> Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Commissioner Gordon #1 --> Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Oracle #1 --> Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Ra's al Ghul #1 --> Batman: The Return #1 (These are NOT issue #1 of their given series, these are all separate oneshots--aside from the Batman #703 prelude, of course.)
@fantastic-nonsense also has a really great context-laden post here about the storyline of them searching for Bruce and is very helpful to understand all the moving parts! If I missed anything major, hopefully she or someone else can step in and give us issue numbers. I know that's a lot of comics to throw at you, but it kind of goes to show that this is how some of the Bat-storylines used to have more of this kind of stuff, where they had big, sprawling events and everything kind of spilled over onto everything else. I don't miss having to buy a zillion issues to keep up with a storyline taking over my favorite book, but I do miss the interconnectedness of stuff like this, when it worked, it created storylines that genuinely were game-changing in the Batman franchise. Hopefully, this helps and if nothing else you can know that you inspired me to go pull out some of these runs and reread them to refresh my memory. (Even if I'm still mortal enemies with Grant Morrison, they wrote a lot of the comics that were at the height of my interest in DC. XD)

Batman Comics Reading Guide
The goal of this post is to provide a bunch of launching off points for people depending on what they're interested in. As such, this is not a checklist. These are just suggestions that hopefully provide some context to navigate different eras and get a proper scope of the Batman comic landscape.
The amount of background behind characters and arcs can make it hard to jump right in (though these recommendations are geared to be more beginner friendly than average), so sites like the dc fandom wiki and comicvine are invaluable resources to catch you up on context. However, you can also learn a lot by just opening up a series and picking up the character cues as you go along.
IF I HAD TO CHOOSE JUST ONE...
Batman: Hush (2002) is amazing at introducing so many important characters at an entry level: Bruce, Dick (Robin I/Nightwing), Tim (Robin III), Alfred, Harley Quinn and the Joker, and Gordon. It also reintroduces Catwoman and starts her relationship with Batman, and explores his friendship with Superman and Lois. It also gets into much more about his upbringing than just the night of his parent's murder. My only hesitation is that it came out right before the resurrection of the second Robin, Jason, and lays the early foundation for it, so it's important to have some backstory regarding that going in. The art and the writing is great and while the story line gets intense, it has plenty of lighter interactions and art. It was originally published as Batman #608-619.
FIRST, SOME CONTEXT
There are always 2 ongoing series about Batman/Bruce Wayne and his teams: Batman, and Detective Comics. Depending on the era, these are either totally independent stories (like they are currently) or meant to be read side-by-side. It can be worth reading collected volumes of arcs rather than one of these streams individually.
There are also a bunch of series dedicated to supporting characters and teams that often have a lot of crossover. There will be info panels in the comics that tell you where a storyline started if a crossover happens, and the wiki/comicvine can help guide you if you get lost.
GOLD/SILVER AGE
If you're interested in his goofy Gold and Silver Age comics-start with a highlight collection! I recommend Batman Annual #5 (1963) from the 1940 "Batman" run. My personal favourite sub-era to read is the early 60s because it is both weird and easy to read. This era was almost entirely anthology comics, so it is very easy to bounce around in read one or two stories at a time.
Prominent Series:
Detective Comics (1937–): It was originally an anthology series but (almost) each issue #27 onwards has Batman in it! There are stories about other characters like the Martian Manhunter, and various non-hero detectives in each issue too.
Batman (1940–): A Batman solo series. Often includes three stories in each issue.
World's Finest Comics (1941–): He has a solo story in the first 70 issues. Issue #71 onwards are team ups with Superman!
Batman Family (1975-78): A short bronze age anthology staring Batman, Batgirl (Barbara), and Robin (Dick), however it really focused on highlighting supporting characters like Vicki Vale, Huntress, and Ace the Bat-Hound. It mostly includes reprints but each issue should have an original story as well. This was later merged with Detective Comics for 15 issues.
Prominent Character Issues:
Detective Comics #27 (1939): Introduces Bruce/Batman
Batman #1 (1940): Introduces Selina/"The Cat"
Detective Comics #38 (1940): Introduces Dick Grayson/Robin
Batman #16 (1943): Introduces Alfred (although his last name is Beagle, not Pennyworth)
Superman #76 (1952): Oh no! There's only one room left on this cruise and we have to share (Batman & Superman's first meeting)
Detective Comics #233 (1956): Introduces Kathy Kane aka the first version of Batwoman
Batman #139 (1961): Introduces Bette Kane aka the first version of a Bat-Girl
Detective Comics #359 (1967): Introduces Barbara Gordon aka current canon's "first" Batgirl
Detective Comics #357 (1983): Introduces Jason Todd. (His backstory is rewritten a few years later however)
DARK AGE
These are a few very important comics to Batman's history and you'll often see them referenced. You don't have to read any of them but it's important to loosely familiarize yourself with the contents.
Batman: Year One (1987): When they reset all of DC's continuity, this was the Batman origin they created. It set a new gritty vibe that some people loved, some people hated, but needless to say it is one of the most influential comics DC has ever put out. Features Bruce, Gordon, Selina, Alfred, and Harvey.
Batman: The Killing Joke (1988): This is a majorly influential Joker story and quite dark. It solidified the Joker's modern characterization and parallels to Batman. Barbara Gordon/Batgirl is assaulted and permanently(ish) paralyzed in it.
Batman: A Death in the Family (1988): Robin 2/Jason's death arc. The readers had voted on whether he would live or die. This was the result. Also published as Batman #426-429
Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth (1989): Dave McKean illustrated this!!. That's all I should need to tell you. It is a very interesting abstract exploration of Batman and Gotham's rogues and leans heavily on the horror aspect. I'll warn up front that there is a lot of demonization of mental health issues. It established Arkham Asylum as a major part of Gotham lore.
also the very famous but non-canonical:
The Dark Knight Returns (1986): A hypothetical future story where Bruce comes out of retirement. Carrie Kelley is the the new (and female!) Robin and helps him fight the Joker, Two-Face, and Superman. This is the first (and the best) of a trilogy.
MODERN AGE
A lot of new characters were introduced in the mid/late 90s and early 2000s. These include Tim Drake (Robin 3), Cassandra Cain (Batgirl 4/Orphan), Stephanie Brown (Robin 4/Batgirl 5/Spoiler), Kate Kane (Batwoman), Damian Wayne (Robin 5), as well as a focus on Helena Bertinelli (Batgirl 3/Huntress). It also started a third continuous series called Batman: Shadow of the Bat which ran from 1992–2000.
It would probably be illegal for me to not mention the series Batgirl (2000) here for the writing is incredible. However, the hyper-stylized art may make it better as a series to read later on.
There are many prominent story arcs, and you can find collected versions of them as the individual issues were split accross various character's series. Some important ones are:
Knightfall (1993): The villain Bane breaks Batman's back, and a religious zealot vigilante Azreal takes over for Bruce.
No Man's Land (1999): An earthquake destroys Gotham and the vigilantes work to restore order to the quarantined city. Introduces Cassandra Cain and highlights Barbara, Tim, Helena, and Bruce.
Under the Hood (2005): The bloody return of Jason Todd/Robin 2, very often referenced in fandom
Batman and Son (2006): The introduction of Damian Wayne/Robin 5.
Batman R.I.P. and following (2008–9): During this era, Batman is presumed to have died during a major crossover event The Final Crisis. Dick Grayson (the now grown-up Robin 1) takes over as Batman, Stephanie Brown becomes Batgirl, Damian Wayne is Robin, and everyone else is doing weird stuff. A major sub arc is Battle for the Cowl where the former Robins fight for the right to take over as Batman.
There is also a lot of fun crossovers with the justice league if you'd rather not stay in Gotham, here are some good ones:
World's Finest (1990): This is a wonderful Superman & Batman team up from the early 90s and has really great interactions between everyone's various personas. Steve Rude's art is so much fun and his versions of Lois and Bruce Wayne make me want to cry with how beautiful they are.
Kingdom Come (1996): a hypothetical story about the Justice League dealing with a new generation of morally careless heroes. Deeply influential and famous but more importantly, absolutely gorgeous. Do yourself a favour and just go stare and Alex Ross' art for a while (including in 2005's series Justice)
Trinity (2008): A great look at Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Justice League. The first half focuses on the Trinity's similarities and differences in what they symbolize. It has a very interesting integration of Tarot too. However, they're absent for the vast majority of the second half—focusing on what the rest of the JL does in their absence. You don't need to read all of it.
Superman/Batman (2003–2011): A team up book of the title characters. The first arc is an all time favourite, and it has little crossover with their solo series, making for a read with little need for background context.
NEW 52
The New 52 (2011) relaunch event made a few major backstory changes to the Batfamily. It unparalyzed Barbara and reinstated her as Batgirl. Cass and Stephanie both lost their Batgirl (and Robin) histories and were completely set back to ground zero, ready to be reintroduced with new origins. It does introduce Duke Thomas/Signal to the team, as well as Harper Row/Bluebird (though she is not in many non-N52 books).
Honestly just avoid all of the New-52 for as long as you can, but if you do get tempted later on:
We are Robin (2015) and Robin War (2016): Features Duke Thomas, his friends, and later Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damian. If you're going to read anything, read this. It is genuinely very good and worthwhile.
Batman & Robin Eternal (2015) focuses on the whole family (including Harper Row/ Bluebird!!) and re-introduces Cass and Azreal. It has a LOT of family bickering and team ups. Ironically, it doesn't really have Bruce or Damian in it.
REBIRTH & PRESENT
The Rebirth era and following (2016-) does mostly keep the same canon as the New 52 created. However, following the Dark Crisis event (2022), everyone's backstories were merged with their previous incarnations. It is not clear to what degree this effects each character, however Stephanie is back to having been Robin now.
If you're reading the Rebirth era, I recommend starting with the Detective Comics run rather than Batman. This is just personal preference but I strongly stand by it. It highlights lesser known characters (initially Kate/Batwoman, Steph, Cass, Azreal and Batwing, with Tim and Bruce) but most importantly, it's way better written. There are a lot of batfamily crossover events (like Joker War, or Fear State). So yourself a favour and read the collected editions so you catch all of it in one place.
Three major events happen that effect all Batman-adjacent comics, that (because they still fairly recent) I will not detail for spoiler reasons, however: Batman #50 (Sep 2018) and #77 (Oct 2019), and to a lesser degree Detective Comics #940 (Nov 2016), have lasting impacts on the series.
COMIC RECS
Batman and the Outsiders (2019) is amazing. It focuses on Cassandra and Duke. Read Detective Comics #983-987 first. B&tO is continuing off from it.
Batman: The Knight: a 10 issue series about Bruce's training years and the friendships he made. Introduces a prominent character who shows up a lot in Batman #100 onwards. This is just really great
Batgirls: If you like Barbara, Cass, and Stephanie, I highly recommend reading the first arc of this. The art and the story are a lot of fun
All-Star Batman (2016): features Duke Thomas with Batman blasting heavy metal music out of his chest. It's a series of contained stories and doesn't require context from other runs
Task Force Z: Jason is roped into leading a government team of resurrected villains. It is quite an interesting exploration of his current ethics. The rest of the family do make appearances as well.
And additionally:
Wayne Family Adventures: an official (but non-canonical) Webtoon about the various domestic shenanigans of the Batfamily. It's light and funny and heartfelt and updates every Thursday.
-------
Lastly, I want to recommend my favourite oneshot, and it has absolutely no bearing on any plot, characters, or world:
Batman: Dreamland (2000): It's Batman exploring Area 51 and he looks like this:
