Hello! I don’t know if you still interested in the series but do you have any more artwork/concepts/anything to share concerning the Galaxy railways?
And anything to do with Bruce and Owen?
I love your artwork!
Hey there! You have no idea how ecstatic it makes me to have someone coming up to me to talk about Galaxy Railways- especially when it comes to Bruce and Owen! This series has my heart, and these characters even more so.
That being said, it's been a little while since I last dove deep in the show, so I probably don't have anything new to share (or if I do, I don't have the files nor papers on me, unfortunately). I certainly have headcanons, but I can't seem to recall any ones I might have never mentioned before...
However, I don't want to end the reply on this note, because that would be terribly underwhelming, as well as missing out on the chance to draw two of my most beloved space guys over again!!

Thank you so much for reaching out, and don't hesitate to DM me if you want to chat!

So I was thinking of dog!Manabu and remembered that it's common for zoos to give their cheetahs dog companions. This is because cheetahs are actually very high strung animals, and a dog that's been trained properly can be very helpful in providing emotional support for a cheetah and helping them stay calm. This made me think briefly of Bruce...
Tumblr media
-whose stress levels are probably not actually being helped much by Manabu but then I remembered his last name is Speed and I couldn't resist the dumb joke.
(Note: Cheetahs are the fastest land animals.)

After watching Cameron's Titanic, and the 2012 Titanic mini series, I really want You're Wrong About to do a Titanic episode. Because there's SO much material there to explore, especially when it comes to questions of "who was to blame" and "what could/should have been done differently."
Fictionalized dramatizations love to lay blame at the feet of J. Bruce Ismay while martyrizing Thomas Andrews. I think this is in large part because Ismay survived to take the blame, while Andrews went down with the ship. But eyewitness testimony supports the idea that Ismay helped to prepare and load lifeboats for an hour before stepping into a lifeboat, and that he waited to be sure no more women were nearby before getting in the boat. There's no real evidence he pushed his way onto a lifeboat or acted out of cowardice. There's also no documented evidence that he encouraged a reluctant Captain Smith to raise the ship's speed in an effort to reach New York early.
There's also no documented evidence that anybody was shot during the evacuation, despite what's portrayed in the 1997 film. Eyewitness testimony claims that an officer (probably 5th Officer Lowe) fired warning shots into the air to prevent people from jumping into a full boat from the deck and possibly capsizing it.
2nd Officer Charles Lightoller is often maligned for his "women and children only" interpretation of evacuation procedures. This seems wrong to our 2023 sensibilities, but we forget the extremely strict gender mores of Edwardian Englandd. And the fact that after being washed off of the sinking ship along with a capsized Collapsible B, he saved the lives of almost 30 men by pulling them onto the boat and organizing them to keep the boat afloat until rescue. After the boat was full he spent much of the night standing on the most narrow part of the boat, in frozen clothes, to keep it from capsizing.
One last thing I'll touch on is the claim that more lifeboats on the ship would have equaled more lives saved. It's true that the ship only carried enough lifeboats for half of the passengers on board, but it's unlikely there would have been time to launch more than 20 boats before the ship went down. As it is the last 2 collapsible boats weren't launched, but were washed off the boat deck as the ship foundered, one of them upside down.
I think that we, as humans, have a strong desire for every story to have clear heroes and villains, and we have a hard time accepting that people aren't basically good or bad, but that they're basically people. That individuals can do their best with the information they have in the moment, and it won't really matter, and there's no individual action that could have stopped the tragedy from happening or changed the outcome. People are complex, and tragedies are multifaceted, and there weren't any Cal Hockleys aboard the real Titanic.

──── MR. ISMAY IN THE YELLOW PRESS
❝ By Tuesday 16 April, the whole world knew who J. Bruce Ismay was. [ … ] The most serious accusation against Ismay was that he put profit before lives, dictating the ship’s speed to the Captain in order to get to New York in record time. ❞

JaySteph Dating Alphabet Headcanons
I used @/imagine-mcu's alphabet prompts
Join the JaySteph Server ao3
A - Asking out: It starts as ‘just friends’ hangouts during or after patrol, but one day after Jason orders her usual order and brings it to her because she was busy with an assignment  Steph asks if they’ve become dates. Jason says no, if they were dating, she’d know. He then asks her out on a proper date.
B - Being best friends: They get along like a house on fire. They have regular competitions to see who can sass Bruce more and cause a headache first.
C - Celebrating their birthdays: Steph loves birthdays, whether they’re hers or someone else’s. Jason doesn’t quite see the appeal but reciprocates by making Steph breakfast in bed and planning a date she’ll love. With Steph’s love for both birthdays and Jason, she celebrates Jason’s birthday and a day she picked as his resurrection day, to remind him how much he means to her and how happy she is that he’s alive.
D - Double dating!: JaySteph are so busy with the rest of their lives, both as civilians and vigilantes, that when they can be alone they prefer to have a private date, but sometimes they’ll join a friend on a double date.
E - Eating dinner: Jason cooks, Steph eats. Alfred often sends leftovers from Family Dinners for when they’re too busy to cook, or they take out food from their favourite holes-in-the wall. Steph has her favourite Indian place on speed dial and Jason has an in with his favourite Chinese restaurant. His usual will be ready in ten minutes.
F - Flirting: They are insufferable flirts in public, simply because it weirds out the rest of the Bats. In private, they keep it much more low-key.
G - Getting protective: Jason and Steph are both extremely protective of the other. They know they can hold their own, but if they can help the other, they will.
H - Hugging: Their hugs usually happen in the wee hours of the morning. Jason had a nightmare and Steph wakes up to hug him until he can try to sleep again. Steph had a stress-fueled cry on Jason’s shoulder about balancing school and vigilantism, and he didn’t let her go until she was almost asleep. Their hugs are always warm, solid, and grounding.
I - Inviting to team up/join their organisation of heroes: Steph is an honourary Outlaw and gets along great with all Outlaws, present and former.
J - Joking around: When they’re in public, Jason and Stephanie are usually acting; Jason prefers the grouchy, snarky act while Steph favours the put-together happy mask. When they’re together, they’re just Jason and Steph. They don’t joke as much as they do in-mask (vigilante or civilian), though they have plenty of light-hearted moments.
K - Kissing: JaySteph are constantly kissing. Little pecks before patrol; longer kisses to reassure themselves that they’re both okay after a dangerous operation; slow, sleepy kisses in the morning; hot and heavy makeouts against a wall during a slow patrol…
L - Lounging around on a lazy day: The days when they both have nothing to do and nowhere to go are few and far between, but they make the most of it. Sleeping in if possible, curling up and reading together, maybe having a playful spar? They also enjoy playing civilian and doing domestic stuff like shopping and cooking together.
M - Making breakfast: Usually Jason is up first, either from nightmares or because Steph likes to sleep in as much as possible. On the rare occasions Steph is up first, she likes to race the clock and see if she can get it made and possibly to him in bed before he is up.
N - Netflix and chilling: There’s not a lot of time to Netflix and Chill when you’re heading out on patrol in the evening, so if they do have time, it’s usually in the morning or early afternoon.
O - Overcoming a fear: They’re both terrified of the other leaving like they were nothing. After the first big fight, when Jason showed back up at Steph’s door and they worked it out like adults, Steph cried for half an hour. Jason was worried she’d either not answer the door or answer it to say they were done. He cried a little bit too.
P - Partying: Steph wants a full university experience so she’ll attend one or two parties a semester, with Jason accompanying to keep an eye on the happenings and make sure nothing non-Red-Hood-approved occurs.
Q - Quarrelling: They usually clash over their different reactions and outlooks on subjects that touch their trauma, as the heightened emotions make it more difficult to detach and consider things logically and from the other’s POV. Once they’ve calmed down (and maybe had a talk with their therapist(s)), they’re quick to try to understand and support the other and fix the issue if possible.
R - Rescuing: They’re both vigilantes. Most of their rescuing comes in the form of creating an excuse to drag the other away from family dinner or one of Bruce’s lectures.
S - Sleeping over: At the beginning of their romantic relationship, they both had their own apartments/safehouses and usually crashed at whoever’s was closer. Later on, they got a centrally located apartment, btu of course they have safehouses scattered around with both of their stuff in each other’s. Su casa es mi casa and all that.
T - Taking care when sick: It’s usually Steph sick because Jason has an enhanced immune system from the Pit. He is the best nurse she could ask for, making tea and chicken soup and reading to her if he can.
U - Using technology: They prefer face-to-face when possible, but they also have a regular string of text messages as well, usually memes and a way to subtly joke about Bruce when he’s in front of them (not that they have anything against needling Bruce to his face but sometimes subtlety is better, such as when he doesn’t yet know about a prank).
V - Vexing each other: One thing Steph does that Jason hates & just doesn’t understand is how much hair she sheds down the shower drain and how often he has to clean them out. Steph hates how much Jason relies on the Pit’s enhanced healing factor and himself to protect her. She doesn’t mind the protecting part, just that he does it at his own expense, saying better him than her because she would take twice as long to heal.
W - Waking up to: In the beginning of their romantic relationship, and even in their platonic relationship, one would wake up to the other crawling into their bed because they had a nightmare.
Y- Yelling at each other (for the angst!): Again, it’s usually because one of them was in danger and did something reckless. When they’re truly mad, Steph goes quiet and Jason leaves until he’s cooled off so he doesn’t make things worse.
Z - Zoo date!: Of course they can’t have a normal date. Damian comes along and demands to make sure all the animals are being taken care of properly. JaySteph love the little gremlin though and have mentally adopted him.

Ship: The Joker x Hannibal Flood, Bruce Wayne x Hannibal Flood
Word Count: 1215
Summary: During a celebration of things gone well for the criminal couple, Hannibal discovers a double-crosser and has a conversation with the local vigilante. CWs for alcohol mentions, violence, gun usage, implied plans of experimentation on humans.
Tag List: @knightfallships @canongf @futurewife @rexscanonwife
Tumblr media
It had been a successful night for Gotham’s high-ranking criminal couple, executing another step in a grander plan, another plan to attempt to take over Gotham once and for all. Sure, it might go just like all the other plans, but if it got the attention of Batman and it was fun, who really cared? The Joker, Hannibal, and their goons were all celebrating with a big party back at the hideout, boozing and setting off party favours. Hannibal would’ve loved to indulge in the festivities all night, and he would’ve if he hadn’t caught one of the new henchmen sneaking away.
“I’m sorry, Mr. J, but you’ll have to excuse me…” Hannibal spoke as he watched him from a distance, finishing his current glass of champagne.
“Oh?? Retiring so early in the evening, my love? Have you got a headache?? Because I know an excellent cure…” Joker purred, a loose arm slung around his husband’s waist as he brought his lips to their neck.
“Not retiring, no.” He placed a hand on his partner’s chest, keeping his attention. “I just have something I need to check up on, alright?”
“Well, at least be quick about it. Schmoozing with these fools without you on my arm can be so tedious…” He kissed their temple and let them go, allowing them to weave through the crowd and out of the derelict ballroom/conference room of Joker’s elaborate hideout. Luckily, the goon was not far off, and Hannibal silently trailed him from behind… all the way up a set of stairs and to a door, behind which he knew Joker was keeping information regarding his current plans. Suspicion rose in Hannibal as he watched the goon pick the lock and let himself in, pausing just long enough to give him a false sense of security before entering the room himself.
“It’s rude to search a man’s personal records without permission, you know,” Hannibal announced as he closed the door and flicked on the lights. The henchman jumped, whipping around with a bag in one hand and a folder in the other. Hannibal clucked his tongue disapprovingly. “Ah, and the boss would appreciate such sticky fingers, if they weren’t currently being used against him.”
The goon opened his mouth to defend himself, but before a single sound could escape his body, Hannibal had drawn his gun and fired twice, hitting the man’s chest and shoulder. They casually placed the gun back in the waistband of their pants and approached his slumped-over body, hunkering down to examine what exactly he had managed to pocket before he was interrupted.
“Too bad I missed your heart by about two inches, but I’m sure it can be arranged to speed up the dying process soon. You just get cosy there on the floor, seething over your wounds, while I clean up this mess.”
“And Joker’s always said you were a good shot…” The goon spat. Hannibal raised an eyebrow.
“You really think I did what I did without purpose? You truly are as dumb as you look right now. It’s up to J to decide what he wants done with you…” They cracked a grin. “I’m just the lapdog. So why’d you try and steal from us, anyway?”
He opened his mouth again but Hannibal cut him off. “Uh-tut-tut-tut, rhetorical question, I don’t actually care.” They hummed as they put things back in their initial places, taking note of what exactly was being taken. All of the files they had gathered on people important to their plans.
“Thought you might get some personal gain from these?” They shook one of the folders in the goon’s face, then straightened up, listening closely. “Now what the Hell could that be…?”
Before he could finish his thought, someone had crashed through the nearby window and sent him toppling to the floor. Luckily, the familiar form had shielded him from the brunt of the flying glass.
“Ah, Batsy, how nice of you to drop in. Odd of you to waltz straight into the lion’s den, though, don’t you think?”
Batman didn’t quip back, as per usual, instead climbing off of Hannibal and turning to the goon. He briefly bent down to retrieve something off of the man, pocketing it in his utility belt before turning to Hannibal and finally speaking. “You know I never do anything without thinking it through first, Hannibal.”
He scoffed as he rose from the floor, brushing himself off. “As if.”
“Besides, the lion doesn’t need to know.”
Hannibal placed a hand on the doorknob, placing a hand on his chin. “Why shouldn’t I tell him we have an unexpected guest? The party’s only just begun, after all.”
“Because I’m sure he wouldn’t exactly be happy that I’ve had a wire on him since the beginning of your latest scheme.”
Hannibal considered this and decided he didn’t want to spoil the mood, stepping away from the door. “Fine, I’ll bite. What do you want?”
“To leave a message, and a path, for you. Not only will your plan fail, but it has a high potential to backfire on you completely. Just because their minds are aligned with his now doesn’t mean they’re going to stay that way when you start experimenting on them.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m sure Joker doesn’t see it, being who he is, but think about it. You haven’t seen the side effects. A mind-controlling, madness-inducing cocktail given to already unstable people doesn’t exactly equal peace and total obedience, as far as you know currently.”
There was a pause between them, the goon softly groaning and still bleeding in the background. He shoved his hands in his pockets.
“So what? You want me to sabotage the plans?”
“Knowing this could end with you both torn limb-from-limb by a horde of your own creation? I think you should at least consider how you’re going to get away with this.”
Hannibal smiled, then. “Ah, but that’s the thing, isn’t it? I know you won’t let us. I know the caped crusader is always going to save us from our own fuck-ups because you can’t leave things like this alone.”
Another pause. In this silence, Hannibal could see truth in the eyes behind the cowl.
“What if someday, I can’t?”
Hannibal sighed heavily, approaching his friend, lover, and nemesis, cradling his face in their hands. “Batsy, Batsy, Batsy… that’s a conversation for when you take the mask off.” They answered softly, centimetres away from kissing him. But the vigilante didn’t close the gap. He merely guided Hannibal’s hands away and turned to the broken window.
“Mine or yours?”
“Pardon?”
He looked down at the goon.
“Ah. Yes, take him if you want him.”
Batman nodded and heaved the man into his arms, giving Hannibal a final glance before exiting the way he came in. Hannibal didn’t stop to watch him go, simply finishing with reorganizing the room and returning to the party.
“I told you to be quick!” Joker spoke exasperatedly as they came back to his side.
“I’m sorry, J.” They kissed his lips. “It’s a big place.” They kissed him again. “Had to kill a rat.”
“Mmh, I see,” Joker hummed, stroking the back of their head as he growled against their lips. “More champagne?~”
“Only if you’re buying.~”

you know, theres a lot of reasons to hate james cameron, almost all of them valid, but theres one nitpicky one that doesnt even make me that angry, just kinda sad.
see, when he made titanic, he was well aware that j bruce ismay wasnt a selfish evil man and that he didnt force the captain to sail at full speed to try and break the speed record because titanic physically couldnt.
BUT ismay had managed to upset william randolph hearst previously and so when the titanic sank, hearst used his massive news empire to slander and lie about ismay until that became how it was remembered in the usa.
and james cameron wanted to make this film that was very very very accurate to the titanic, but not to the titanic itself rather the story of the titanic as its remembered. and so he made it accurate to hearsts lies
and it just fucking sucks that a guy who spent a lot of the sinking helping people into lifeboats and saving lives is now known as some moustache twirling villain who cared not for the human cost.
like jim, you could have used that movie to exonerate him in the public record. you dont have to make him some shining hero, but you could have at least give the guy the dignity to not portray the lies made about him by william randolph fucking hearst in your blockbuster film.
because thats what most people know about the titanic: what was in the film. they think ismay was trying to break the speed record no matter the cost and simply decided not to have enough lifeboats because they wouldnt look good when he didnt design the damn ship himself and the philosophy of lifeboats was completely different back then.
and idk it just makes me sad anytime i hear people liken evil businessmen in fiction to ismay; its holding up the lies of an actual evil businessman.

As I always tag polls with both the character and the media they are from, if she does get in but you would not like to see the poll, the tags will be blockable.
No matter the outcome, please be courteous as possible to one another, and if that is not possible, then please just block and move on.
