Indulging in comfort snacking at Cafe Mary Grace, SM East Ortigas
Ah, the sweet joy of discovering a cozy haven where comfort food reigns supreme! While I’ve enjoyed Cafe Mary Grace’s comforting food and ambiance for several times already (it’s part of my #TitaStarterPack experience, after all!), who would have thought that my husband would find a new go-to restaurant as well! Hubby and I recently found ourselves in need of a delicious pick-me-up after a long…

Chapter 55 - On Floor One 3 Meal: Hamburger Steak with Changeling sauce Cooked by: Senshi and Marcille
Chapter 56 - Bicorn Meal: Crispy Crunchy Mushroom Sandwich Cooked by: Senshi?
The chapters that had no "meal is done" panel were:
32 - Sea Serpent Part 1
37 - Harpy
39 - Shapeshifter 1
52 - Bacon and Eggs
53 - On Floor One 1
54 - On Floor One 2
Again most of them are the multi parts. chapter 47 originally didn't have the title and stats but the panel looked just like a food is done panel so I went to check on the official release and they added it so it's here. Chapter 37 I think its so far the only non multi part chapter where no food is prepped or eaten, in chapter 52 they make and drink tea even tho there's no special panel.
Tumblr media
Now for stats.
Senshi made/worked on 17, 18 if you count the Crispy Crunchy Mushroom Sandwich and 19 if you count the small help with the omelet, I'll count the sandwich so 18.
Chilchuck worked on 3 meals
Marcille worked on 3 meals, one of them she was making a potion but it got used in a sauce
Laios made/worked on 4 meals, 2 of them by himself! And one of them with minimal Senshi help.
Izutsumi helped with the dumplings, you go izutsumi.
Out of the 24 meals in these 4 volumes, 22 were food and 1 was medicine and 1 was a goopy brick
Out of the 22 foods Senshi worked on 17 of them (1 of his was the brick), 3 of them were Laios, 1 of them was ready made food and 1 was the golden kingdom citizens
The eastern style meal was mostly made by Maizuru but Senshi helped.
There was a few panels that were small/had dialog in them but I counted cause they had the meal title, dragon ham title appears twice but I only counted as one meal.
Once again, I'm bad with numbers if I got anything wrong feel free to correct me!

Notes:*…サンドイッチ屋で捨てるアレをもらって作ってた。 (...sandoitchi-ya de suteru Are o moratte tsukutteta) -> ”...made them using the stuff (bread) that was thrown away from the sandwich shop…”
**Kaiser is German so he wouldn’t know the legendary beef between Team Mushroom or Team Bamboo.
***Kaiser said 自分の首を絞めた時 (Jibun no kubi o shimeta toki) or “When I strangled my own neck”. The verb 首を絞める (kubi o shimeru) is “to wring the neck”, “to strangle.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ness basically said the same thing in chapter.243 -> 自分で自分の首を絞めて・・・!?!?! (Jibun de jibun no kubi o shimete..!?) – and the official translated it as “He’s squeezing his own neck!?”, so we also went with ‘Squeeze’!

Could you please do some headcanons about Batmans cooking disasters over the years?
Age 5: Bruce puts tinfoil in the microwave. Alfred shakes his head and laughs
Age 6: He decorates a cookie so badly another kid cries until they throw up
Age 7: He tries to make a PB&J and the countertop is sticky for a week
Age 8: He tries to make Martha's chicken noodle soup but ends up crying on the kitchen floor surrounded by half-chopped vegetables
Age 9: He tries to impress a houseguest by recreating Thomas's mixology tricks (sans alcohol). There's still a stain on the ceiling to this day
Age 10: He makes green eggs. It's not on purpose. He's never even read the book
Age 11: He makes lava in the school cafeteria
Age 12: He tries to make cheese bread by drilling holes into a baguette and filling it with melted nacho cheese
Age 13: He melts a cutting board in the oven
Age 14: He folds a Pop Tart
Age 15: The chocolate-covered bananas he makes for the school bake sale come out looking very very wrong
Age 16: He's asked to drop a home economics class after mistaking refried beans for pumpkin puree in a pie
Age 17: He boils eggs in the carton
Age 18: He makes his entire freshman dorm evacuate after burning his ramen to ash
Age 19: He sculpts a severed hand out of meatloaf and is sent to the university psychologist
Age 20: He tries to bake a cake but doesn't have a cake pan, so he pours the batter right in the oven
Age 21: He tries Thomas's mixology tricks again, this time with alcohol. One of the tricks is flipping it over his head. He ends up losing part of his vision for 3 days
Age 22: He burns water. Harley Quinn is there. She still holds it over his head
Age 23: He packs his first patrol snack as Batman. It's a chocolate bar wrapped in a tortilla. The chocolate melts onto his gloves and he drops the tortilla down a sewer grate
Age 24: He makes an ice cream cookie sandwich to eat while he and Batgirl work on a case, but he's so engrossed in the work that he doesn't notice it melt until Babs points it out
Age 25: He enters the first annual Justice League cook-off and immediately gets banned from ever entering again
Age 26: He tries to comfort little Dickie Grayson by making fried cornbread from a book of Roma comfort recipes. It turns out about as well as you'd expect when you give Bruce Wayne hot oil. Bruce is genuinely bummed out, but Dick says it's the thought that counts
Age 27: Clark delivers a huge hunk of beef from the farm. Instead of waiting for Alfred to come back, Bruce and Dick try to break it down with a power saw
Age 28: Bruce and Dick's latkes are burned so badly they can play floor hockey with them
Age 29: He makes stuffed mushrooms. Badly. Like imagine the worst way you can fuck up a mushroom. It still won't compare to what Bruce did. And it's for a potluck with the West-Allens that Barry won't let him live down
Age 30: Bruce sees Dick struggling to make ravioli and he's like "Let me show you how it's done" before proceeding to make it infinitely worse
Age 31: Bruce sees a hungry Jason Todd and the first thing he does when they return to the manor is make a double-decker bread sandwich. That's bread with two more slices of bread in between
Age 32: Bruce packs Dick and Jason's lunchboxes when Alfred is out of town. They're supposed to include a salad. Instead, Dick gets a whole head of lettuce and Jason's is just a bottle of ranch
Age 33: He makes hot chocolate after patrol... but forgets the chocolate
Age 34: The Manor is too cold, so Bruce tries to warm it up by making Jason's favorite soup. His hands shake the whole time. Suddenly, he's eight years old again, sitting on the kitchen floor surrounded by scraps reminding him of his failure
Age 35: Jack and Janet Drake are out of the country again, leaving young Timmy by himself. Bruce decides to bring some dinner over. It's baked perfectly, but it's full of things that shouldn't be anywhere near a casserole dish. They end up ordering takeout and watching old detective movies together
Age 36: Steph walks through how to make waffles. Bruce is standing there, watching closely and taking notes. They still come out looking radioactive
Age 37: Cass asks if they can get smoothies. Bruce says he can make them at home. She gives him a warning look but that's not enough to stop him. Cue Bruce forgetting to put the lid on the blender
Age 38: Jason's first night back at home, Bruce tries to make that soup. It shoots out like a geyser and hits the lights. He's panicking until he hears Jason laugh, and then the soup doesn't matter
Age 39: Damian screws up hummus and he desperately tries to hide it so people won't see him as inadequate at something so basic. Instead of getting upset, Bruce assures him it's okay and offers to fix it. (He doesn't fix it, he just makes it worse)
Age 40: Bruce's birthday happens while he's fake-dead and away from home. He grabs a convenience store cupcake and sticks a single candle on it. Then he closes his eyes, pretends his family is around him, and makes a wish. (The candle droops and sets the hotel sheets on fire)
Age 41: Back at the Manor, he attempts to make lemonade on a particularly hot day. Selina offers to help, but Bruce declines, saying, "How hard can it be?" (Spoiler alert: it's not supposed to be full of seeds)
Age 42: Kate shows him a video of Canadians pouring maple syrup into the snow to make candy, so he gets her to boil the syrup so they can do it together. The problem comes when they can't control the pour and end up with a glob the size of Damian
Age 43: As part of a school project, Bruce and Duke try to deduce the Coca-Cola secret formula. Duke's teacher takes a point off because at the beginning he told her he'd taste the results, but there's no way he's doing that now
Age 44: The family gets together to make a full English breakfast Alfred's birthday. Each person takes a part—Dick has eggs, Jason has the grilled tomatoes, Tim has mushrooms, Duke has the bacon, Steph and Cass are tag-teaming the sausages, Damian just has to open a can of beans, and Bruce needs to put bread in the toaster. It goes South immediately when Damian reaches for his katana instead of the can opener
Age 45: Bruce puts tinfoil in the microwave. Alfred shakes his head and laughs

Sam's Pizza Kitchen is open for business! Now serving garlic cheesy sticks in addition to Detroit-style pies!
Considering I have mastered bagels, pizza, cheese sticks, hand-cut fries, and italian beef sandwiches, I'm one really great cake recipe away from a pretty decent diner menu. We could feature Gary Style hot dogs!
Torn between calling it Dearborn Street Pie & Grinder or Sam's #1 Chicago Style. Maybe Sam's #1 is the bar that the Pie & Grinder diner is attached to.
[ID: Two photographs of this morning's cooking; left, a round of garlic cheese bread is cooling in a cast-iron pan, gleaming with oil, while on the right, a square "detroit" style pizza is heaped with cheese, mushrooms, and sauce, with deep brown caramelized edges. I wish y'all could smell this.]

National Eat A Hoagie Day
If you can’t make it to Philadelphia for the world’s best hoagies, pick up ingredients at the supermarket and make your own meat, cheese, and veggie sandwich.
Hoagies, a type of sub sandwich, may seem like an ordinary sandwich, but for those within the Philadelphia area, it’s a part of their pride and joy. People argue over the origins of the hoagie, who started it first, and who’s hoagies are the best in the city. Eat a Hoagie Day is just one of those unique holidays that celebrate hoagies in all of their deliciousness.
History of Eat a Hoagie Day
Hoagies, a type of sub sandwich, is believed to have started in South Philadelphia. Hoagies owe their name to the Hog Island shipyard on the Deleware River when during the depression, Italian-American workers would purchase Italian sandwiches from Al Depalma, a luncheon that called these sandwiches “hoggies”. Some also say that the origin of the hoagie originated from Chester, but others argue that the hoagie originated from Emil’s lunch counter and grocery store.
For the luncheon owners from Emil’s, according to them, they said the inspiration for the hoagie came from a sandwich they saw in Maine made by an Italian lady, to which they began to make those sandwich themselves. When World War II began, many hoagies were being sent out to the shipyard.
Hoagies are entirely localized to the region, being sold in every Wawa across Pennsylvania state. Made with tomatoes, cold cuts, cheese, pickles, olives, and onions, they’re all stuffed into an Italian bread loaf and are made for those with huge appetites. While the origins of the hoagie still remain somewhat of a mystery and debate among hoagie fans, it is particularly an Italian creation at best.
Eat a Hoagie Day is all about having a hoagie for lunch, whether you’re on your work break or just need to fill up your stomach. Hoagies, nevertheless, are loved by everyone who eats one, especially those within the Philadelphia area.
How to Celebrate Eat A Hoagie Day
Make your own hoagie by adding ingredients such as salami, ham, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and onions. Buy a fresh loaf of Italian bread from your local supermarket, grocery store, or bakery to make it authentic.
If you love hoagies with all your heart, take a trip to Philadelphia to try out both DiCostanzas’ or DePalmas’ hoagies to see which ones are the best in the city. Have a hoagie party and create your own versions of hoagies for your friends and family members. Share this holiday with everyone and enjoy a hoagie!

Hey, do you have any ♒ - cooking/food headcanons for Fili and Kili?
Absolutely!!!
Kili
- Is a human garbage bin, he will eat EVERYTHING, even the scraps of his brother.
He remembers seeing his big brother and mum not eating so he could when he was a child and there was not enough food
- He really enjoys bread of all kinds and likes to dip them in whatever sauce/dip there is. He also likes fried vegs but rarely gets them.
- HATES Salads with passion, though "they are LEAFS, what am I, a pony?!"
- Tends to overeat & sprawl on the floor bemoaning his impending end while digesting
- cannot cook for shit but likes to help by cutting/stirring/ whatever he is allowed
- surprisingly good at baking, though, especially sweet things
-his favourite food are the sandwiches his brother makes, once with 'whatever we have left', nowadays with self-baked bread, fresh lettuce ("it does not count if it's on bread!"), cold cut meat & cheese & his brother's special herbal butter
- loves Ale, hates wine, despises hard stuff like whiskey
Fili
- is a secretly picky eater (hates cucumbers, leek & stringy melted cheese)
- will eat what is set before him, but actually has random mayor icks & prefers to prepare his own food for that reason, way too polite to ever critique any food others made (except Kili, never leaves that one unsupervised in a kitchen)
- loves to cook & is really good at it, his specialty is baking bread, making different kinds of butter & sauces, and his fried potatoes with onions and bacon are the best west of Rhûn
- prefers meat over vegs, but LOVES salads as a side, especially basic ones with only greens, some sprinkled cheese & a dressing from honey, vinegar & mustard
-likes his meat well done, gets teased over it constantly but just shrugs & says the others are just ignorant to his wisdom
- favourite meal is his mother's beef stew with mushrooms & whole cloves of garlic, it's cooked for hours & the meat is so tender it melts in your mouth
- does not like sweet food at all, except fresh fruit, but will eat whatever his brother bakes anyway
- prefers wine over Ale, but it gets him tipsy real fast while Ale has almost no effect on him
-enjoys to sip on whisky/brandy/ something strong after a stressful day, but only two fingers for one evening
