Okay, I'll bite (as productive-ish procrastination)!

💖 What is your primary writing goal for this year? Finish WIPs that I had to put on hold because of health issues.

🛳 Are there any new ships you want to write for? (Platonic, romantic, or anything in between.) Just started writing for a new ship - Wolf Pack (HarlanxCyrus)

🤔 Are there any new characters you want to write about? Just the ones I recently started (new ship).

🥸 Does anyone in IRL know you write fanfic or original fiction? If not, do you plan on telling anyone this year? I think three friends know at this point. I was anxious to tell them, because I was sure I'd be laughed at.

🥵 Any plans to write steamy or spicy content this year? Always.

👻 Is there a new genre you'd like to write? I'm just starting a mystery, which is new for me.

🦄 Is there a new POV you'd like to try writing? No.

🐌 What is one of your smallest writing goals? Consider writing with an outline.

🦖 Are there any fandoms you wrote for in the past that you'd like to return to? Long dead past for me - X-Men (Rogue/Gambit), and no, I am not sharing what I previously wrote. Painful.

🍄 Are there any fandoms you've never written for but want to try? Maybe Arcane (Jayvik, Caitvi).

🌈 What research do you plan on doing for your writing? I have to research what is involved in fighting fires and dealing with potential arson.

✨What's one area of your writing that you think needs the least amount of improvement? Dialogue.

🥕 What's one area of your writing that you think needs the most amount of improvement? Probably world building/describing characters' surroundings.

🫘 Spill the beans. What's a new project you're doing this year? The Hunt (a Wolf Pack - Cyrus/Harlan textfic). I think the characters could be fleshed out in really juicy ways (sexual and otherwise), and there's a lot of potential for hidden angst.

🥳 How are you going to celebrate when you achieve one of your writing goals? Ha, I love the idea that I will achieve a writing goal. I will experience surprise.

�� Do you plan on writing any seasonal fics? No.

🐾 Do you plan on writing for any fests or competitions? No. I struggle with writing when there is an external goal/deadline. NaNoWriMo was a nightmare for me.

✍️ Which stat matters most to you (if at all!): subscriptions, kudos/favorites, comments, bookmarks, word count, or hits? Probably kudos/favorites and comments. I don't want them to matter, but it is such a joy to hear that someone likes what I've done.

👾 Do you have any "bad" writing habits you want to break? Starting fics without finishing WIPs.

🤖 Are you looking to change your current writing setup? (Or establish one, if you don't have one?) I'd like to do more writing at the library or a coffee shop. Not for pretentious reasons, but because my dogs are very needy, and it's hard to focus at home sometimes. My setup at home would be great if my dogs were busy.

🦷 Is there a chapter, scene, or WIP you're dreading to write (but is necessary to your plot)? Share a snippet or tell us about it! "Dreading" is a strong word. I am anxious about the next chapter of my Kanthony fic (Keep Looking at Me) - I've had to take a long break, and I'm concerned about continuity/pacing.

💥Is there a chapter, scene, or WIP you're most excited to write? Share a snippet or tell us about it! I'm actually really excited about the first prose chapter of my Wolf Pack fic - it references a lot of childhood angst and current-day burnout, which appears to be my comfort zone.

🍕Will you be making any changes to your posting schedule (if you have one)? (Or do you want to establish a posting schedule?) Posting schedule? Never met her.

🛏 Is there a new trope you'd like to write this year? Maybe a bit of a spoiler. Mom angst/revenge (related to protecting her children).

🪩 Do you have any "good" writing habits you want to cultivate? Honestly, I don't know that this is a good writing habit. But I trust my instincts about whether something works, and I hope I can keep having the confidence to do that. I'm sure my writing could be better, particularly with a beta reader, but I think my writing turns out the way I want/need it to this way. No one else may agree, but I'm proud I've always had that confidence.

🎉 How are you going to be kind to yourself if you don't meet your goals? I'm learning to put self-care first. It's been like crawling through broken glass to get back here - psych hospitalization, learning to walk again, you name it. I'm using DBT skills, exercising, and preemptively taking care of myself. That will happen regardless of how writing goes.

💌 Are you willing to take requests or prompts for writing? Yes, BUT. I don't think anyone would benefit. I have a really hard time writing when I *have* to - maybe it is demand avoidance, but I've really struggled with this in the past. I'm willing, but I don't have a lot of confidence in my ability to do it well. The stories seem to want to write themselves in the order/way they want to be written, so it doesn't feel like I get to choose when/what happens. That makes prompts harder for me.

Long time no see! Here's a lovely little update post for you all!

Chapter 4 progress was on hiatus for about a month and a half to focus on school and event weeks... well, I am happy to say that has come to an end! I have finished up sketches for pages 1 and 2 of chapter 4. I am vigorously working to get that, and potentially the lineart as well, finished up in this next week.

The entirety of.. season? Arc? #1 is finished in writing, and has been for a while, but I have touched it up and made it so so good I am very excited.

I will be making official character sheets for my designs for Lucifer and Alastor in ASR as I have received a few requests for such! Given this information, I was to make it known that you are very welcome to make art of my AU and my designs! The only rule I have is that I BETTER BE TAGGED IN THIS ART!! I want to munch on it and then stick it on my fridge so I can see it everyday and smile.

Finally.... I have a big announcement coming soon regarding a certain very awesome charity project that I'll be taking part in with this little AU ;)

About to start sobbing in a Walmart parking lot as I use my precious free time and portion of a braincell to finish up a project I thought I'd have to drop out of

2024 was a challenging year in so many ways and I am glad to see it in the rear view mirror. I had planned to be more intentional with the goals I set, but circumstances made that difficult. I did not reevaluate this list until November, and then realized how much I wasn't able to do.

✅ Rebuild my regular writing habit I am writing more often than in previous years, and successfully posted 16 fics. I even felt confident enough to sign up as a writer for big bang for the first time.

☑️ Read 2 craft books I did not read any craft books, but I did take an 8 month long writing course that talked a lot about the craft, so I'll count that as half complete.

🚫 Finish alien!Harry fic I worked on this a bit, but progress is slow and other ideas have taken priority. This idea has been rolling around in my head since 2019 and now feels quite dated due to everything going on in the world, so it's been a struggle.

🚫 Post at least once per month on larry fanfiction I posted as often as I could, and I am proud of the work that I've done with this blog so far. Tumblr is making it very difficult to manage the blog as it keeps blocking me from editing the custom html, but I do hope to keep the blog active next year.

🚫 Finish grandma’s quilt top 🚫 Embroider the opossum art 🚫 Sew a tote bag These craft projects didn't get done. It was really hard to be creative when I was working so hard to heal this spring and summer. When I finally got home, I started a new baby quilt which is priority number one to finish, as the baby will be here soon.

✅ Visit a new museum This is always my favorite goal to complete. This year, I went to the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, California. There were lots of original comics to read and the museum did a great job showing the evolution of the Peanuts. There were also several unique art pieces that paid tribute to Schulz's work, including Wrapped Snoopy House by Christo and Jeanne Claude. I was so excited to see one of their works in person, but didn't get a picture of it because the museum was about to close.

💜 2024 Goals 💜

Looking back at last year's goals, I didn't accomplish most of what I said I would do, but I am so proud of everything I did manage to accomplish, and grateful for all the experiences and friendships that made up my year. I entered a new decade a few days ago, and I've been feeling very introspective about what the next ten years could hold. In the wise words of Louis: It's not how you spend the time, it's if you waste it.

I've set goals and shared them on tumblr for several years now, but it always feels like a mad dash to finish them at the end of the year. I want to change that. So this year, my first goal is to change how I approach goal-setting. I even bought a new planner to encourage me to be more intentional. I'm not going to share all of the more personal ones here, but I'll share the fun ones!

I think one of the reasons the Harris / Walz ticket has so much momentum is because the campaign is genuinely trying to put out this vibe of fun. Like that's all the "brat" thing is, the coconut jokes, just being kind of silly and fun.

And I think it's working, because let's be real, we are all exhausted. It's been all about preserving democracy, defeating fascism, the past eight years. The message has been "vote for us because the country is literally on the line". The vibes are not good when we are stuck back at that fight, and not even discussing trying to make progress on things like housing, healthcare, education, etc. And the fight to just stop fascism? All still true. Project 2025 is real and is extremely scary. We can't let that man back into office.

But the vibe was "vote for us otherwise we're all fucked :(" and now has shifted to "get in, we're making popcorn and then bullying fascists." Like a lot of the issues conservatives bring up, the Harris / Walz is just not engaging them in good faith, as they shouldn't. Republicans bring up abortion, and some of the Dems are just like, "you want 14 year old to give birth? Weirdo" and just leave it at that. Like YES, that's what you should do. Because it SHOULDNT be a debate. And it's working. This is how you defeat the identity politics thing Republicans have been trying to push for a while. Just mocking them for the stupidity of it all. "Like seriously? You think a book can make someone gay??? Hahaha." None of the Republicans are reacting well. They can't stand it. Vance even complained about bullying!!! Like do you KNOW who picked you as vp??? It's actually laughable, because they have no room to stand on when it comes to bullying.

And a huge part of the mocking and dismissing of Republicans is that the message is clear - we are done debating all this stupid stuff. We've won the last two elections' popular vote - most Americans do NOT want christo-facism. It's time to move on. And that's what gives me hope, and the feeling of hope I think a lot of people have picked up on. It's time to address all the issues we've all wished we've been addressing the past decade. It's important we move onto that, and that's the message I'm getting from this campaign (We're not going back). I think it will resonate with a lot of people, because plainly, we're all just sick of this same old news cycle and fake rage bait over things like "should women have rights?", "Should gay people be allowed to exist?" The general populace have answered YES to both these multiple times, and it is time to move on. Maybe I'm being naive, but I am genuinely excited at the idea of putting to bed these debates (it's exhausting trying to fend someone's very existence ) and moving on to actual economic and social policies that could fix a lot of deterioration over the last 2 decades.
