ā€¦Pj and Elisse?
pls N O | not shipping it | nah | maybe? | I WISH itā€™d work | yasss | I ship it | wOW PLEASE!
romantically no cuz pj is super gay re: red/black and is taken pale-wise, and also i think Elisse and him would enable each other a lot in terms of pale stuff anyways.
however... i think they should be friends. i think they would have so much fun 2gether and could def go to parties and stuff. and, as long as she's nice to Io (hard sell), they could be actual friends rather than just party ones

10 World-Building Aspects You Probably Overlooked
When crafting a fictional world, it's easy to focus on the big pictureā€”epic battles, grand landscapes, and memorable characters. However, itā€™s also important to flesh out your world-building to create a ā€˜realā€™ world. Some aspects to consider when world-building are:Ā
1. Local Cuisine
Consider the types of food your characters eat and how it reflects their culture, geography, and economy. Unique dishes can reveal societal values and local ingredients.
2. Currency & Trade
Explore the forms of currency used and the trade systems in place. This can include bartering, precious metals, or unique items as currency, influencing economic interactions.
3. Timekeeping Practices
Different cultures may have their own methods for measuring time, whether it's a unique calendar system, seasons, or celestial events, affecting daily life and traditions.
4. Cultural Taboos
Consider the unspoken rules and taboos that govern behavior in your world. These can drive conflict and character motivations, adding depth to societal interactions.
5. Local Flora and Fauna
Unique plants and animals can shape the environment and influence the culture, whether through medicine, food sources, or as part of local mythology.
6. Rituals and Festivals
Incorporate unique rituals or festivals that celebrate historical events, seasonal changes, or important life milestones, providing insight into cultural values and traditions.
7. Language Nuances
Explore dialects, slang, or even the use of sign language that reflects the culture and social dynamics, enriching dialogue and interactions between characters.
8. Architecture and Housing Styles
The design and materials of buildings can reflect climate, resources, and cultural values. Unique architectural features can tell a story about the society that built them.
9. Social Hierarchies and Classes
Examine how social structures affect character relationships and interactions. Class distinctions can influence everything from daily life to political power.
10. Environmental Impact
Consider how the natural environment shapes societal behaviours, resource usage, and conflicts. Climate and geography can drive migration patterns and societal development.

So there's a lot to unpack here but I want to start by talking about the ending and specifically about the Metatron and the calculating moves made at the end of episode 6.
Every single piece of what happened there was a manipulation technique being employed against Aziraphale to an almost brilliant degree and I'm honestly a little obsessed with what this says about the Metatron in particular.
Let's go in order.
First of all. We see him order coffee. In a human body. Something sweet and sugary. He talks to Nina and asks her about her shop name. Does anyone ever ask for death? And when she tells him no they don't his response is to say "so predictable". Our introduction to him here even when everything about him reads like a sweet old man is presented to show us someone who reads the world in terms of being predictable to him.
He then shows up in the middle of Aziraphale's existence being threatened. He immediately cuts down the threat's authority (using outdated language like Az himself would favor) and reemphasizes his own connection to Heaven. When Michael doesn't recognize him and he puts her down and then directly engages Crowley. Crowley who, to Aziraphale, has for centuries at a minimum been someone he thinks is smarter, better, more Good than these other archangels. The Metatron validates these beliefs. Crowley is more Heavenly than these archangels who couldn't even recognize the voice of God when he was standing right in front of them.
The Metatron draws attention to the fact he's in a human body. The kind of body Aziraphale has been in and loved for nearly 6000 years. He then banishes the archangels, implying their morality is in a gray space, and validates Muriel someone we have seen Aziraphale react positively to and someone outside the current power structure. Look at me, he's saying. I see and validate the little guy.
He then tries to talk to Aziraphale. Aziraphale says "I've made my position quite clear." And then the Metatron offers Aziraphale the coffee. This bartering chip, consuming sustenance, is a thing that Aziraphale and Crowley have used as their connective tissue for centuries. It's an olive branch for them. It's giving Aziraphale bodily pleasure and the Metatron implies that he himself has partaken also - a thing we know that Aziraphale has struggled historically with moralizing. He is seen by the closest thing he has left to his parent and he is having old fears validated as safe and old habits being played upon to make him feel secure
He then REMOVES Aziraphale from his home turf. Not only does he remove Crowley from the equation but he takes Aziraphale from the place that has stood as a place of sanctuary throughout the entirety of the season. The shop is Safe and Aziraphale is leaving it and he is leaving the one person who might be able to smell the bullshit coming from the Metatron. The music notably turns absolutely dire here.
The next time we see them the Metatron tells Aziraphale that he doesn't need to answer instantly. He can take his time, if he likes. All the time he needs. And then tells him to go tell Crowley. Once again bringing Crowley in as a valid part of this while manufacturing a scenario where he can't possibly be.
Az ends up in a place where he's overwhelmed and confused and he wants so badly to believe what he's being told. It's an appealing thing from his perspective! He feels off kilter like he's made a mistake in judging the Metatron. He can't even fully articulate what happened to Crowley at first and he's had absolutely no real time to actually think it through. He's running on sheer reactive energy.
The Metatron starts their conversation by asking Aziraphale's opinion. Who should rule Heaven? This is once again playing into making Az feel validated and like he's a part of this decision making process. The Metatron corrects him, complimenting Aziraphale and making him feel capable and in control. He reassures Aziraphale's bafflement. And draws attention to some traits that, while true of Aziraphale around Crowley, are not his defining traits in the eyes of Heaven. You don't just tell people what they want to hear I find particularly notable in this regard given Aziraphale spent most of his time on earth actively lying to Heaven and doing just that. But it fits into the narrative Aziraphale has built around himself, especially post Apocalypse. The Metatron then says I need you (a phrase Az will use much more painfully here in a minute).
And even after all this Aziraphale says no. He says flat out he doesn't want to go back to Heaven. He says this!!! And then the Metatron sweetens the pot. He swaps tactics. Not once has this come up until Aziraphale pushes back against the idea. If the Metatron could've gotten him without using it I have no doubt he wouldn't have bothered with it. Come to Heaven and we can save Crowley. Aziraphale loves Crowley. Aziraphale thinks Crowley is better than any of the angels he's interacted with. Crowley is Good and Nice and Kind and always saving him and now he's being presented with a way to return that. He can Forgive Crowley - a thing Crowley has always presented to Aziraphale as something he struggles with. All of these things Aziraphale has watched Crowley react to in a way that belittles himself or distances them from one another. Of course he wouldn't consider that maybe what he was actually saying is "I'm unforgivable and I don't want that forgiveness."
The Metatron offers Aziraphale a Dream Offer for the pre Armageddon Aziraphale. You can keep your Crowley. You can heal him like you have always thought he deserved. You can have power and control the people who for your whole existence has beaten you down. It can go back to how it was but BETTER.
When Aziraphale leaves he still hasn't answered. He goes and has the conversation they have. It's intense and emotional and the Metatron comes in after the Moment all casual and asks how it goes, knowing fully well the shitstorm he had just set up to get created. And then he turns around and says "always did want to go his own way" which is not only true of Crowley but framed as a bad thing despite the fact that he has just spent twenty minutes or so telling Aziraphale that he's done his own thing and that is Good. He is playing both sides of this perspective as it suits him. And then he cuts down Crowley asking questions, pressuring Aziraphale to avoid doing the same. He then proceeds to ask Aziraphale not if he's made up his mind but if he's ready to get started. He is one by one closing off exit routes to this thing as Aziraphale starts to look more and more panicked and indecisive. He makes sure the bookshop is in good hands and asks Aziraphale if there's anything he needs to take with him. Letting Aziraphale have the illusion of choice while cutting down "I don't want to" as an option altogether.
And Az, as soon as the Metatron is out of shot, tries to express this. And then he falls back right on old coping methods. The Metatron pats him on the head. Reassures that he's the right one for this. That he is Good. That his particular skillset is needed here.
It is a masterstroke of manipulation. A very dark twist on what we see Crowley do time and time again with Aziraphale throughout the millennia. Familiar in a way that makes Aziraphale feel safe. Except this time this is being used to put him back in line. It's brilliant and painful and it fucking hurt and I need a season 3 to see the Metatron get what's coming to him stat.

If there's any sport I'm totally engaged in, it's definitely STOL flying competitions. Get to see some pretty wild mods on plane you'd never see anywhere else. But the real cool thing about it is getting to see the pure master flying skills those pilots have with their plane. :o
Would love to join those competitions with this lil Preceptor Ultra Pup (a mini replica of a Piper Cub) one day when I'm finally done rebuilding em from the ground up tho :3
Tumblr media
Old pic from the previous owner, it's completely stripped down rn to the bones rn tho. :'3 the broken/corroded bones are steadily getting replaced with new plane bones I'm remaking from scratch.
A demonstration of how little runway a bush plane needs to take off and land.

Dressing the 141 up in a couples Halloween costume
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Price
Is initially pretty lukewarm to the idea because he thinks he's too old to dress up for Halloween :(((
But with just the right amount of convincing + puppy dog eyes from you, he'll eventually go along with it
However, he's adamant that he's not going to shave. So you either have to give him a bearded character or resign yourself to seeing a mustachioed fairy
In the end, you think he makes quite a dashing Captain Hook (move over Jason Isaacs, there's a new captain in town)
If it's a party you're dressing up for, he'll go and have a great time (i.e. get absolutely sloshed and terrorize people with the fake hook)
Gaz
Is suuuuuuper into Halloween because it's his favorite holiday
He goes all out every year. Like, all out. Like, we're talking planning 6+ months in advance levels of obsession
In fact, you're not even the one who brings up the idea of doing a couples costume. He does, and he already has a theme in mind: Star Wars
He has a hyper-detailed Han Solo costume ready to go, complete with the blaster and boots and everything (yes, he made it himself, and yes, he's very proud of it)
You'll end up being 45 minutes late to the party because he won't stop taking pictures of you two posing in your outfits
Soap
Isn't opposed to the idea of dressing up, but there's a slight problemā€¦ He's already promised someone else that he'll match with them
You're like ??? when he tells you that, but end up chuckling once you learn who said person is: his four year old niece
He's the gallant knight to her glittery princess, and he's planning on taking his role very seriously
But he'll feel bad for leaving you hanging, so he'll run to the store and buy a pair of wings and a tail so you can tag along as a dragon or smth
You'll end up skipping the party so you can go trick-or-treating with them, and have much more fun that way anyway
Ghost
Is by far the least on board with the idea
He vehemently wants nothing to do with it ā€“ the party, the dressing up, nada
It'll take so much begging and bartering on your part to get him to finally cave in (the specifics of what you offer him, I'll leave up to your imagination ;))
No matter what costume you choose for him, he's gonna be snarky about it
"How the hell 'm I supposed to see with this bloody triangle on my head?" "It's a pyramid, Si." "Tha's what I said."
He'll stay at the party until he thinks you're satisfied with his attendance, and then he's Irish goodbye-ing it out of there without a second thought
Bonus - Full squad costume
If you're somehow able to convince the whole squad to dress up together, there's only one theme I see them doing: the Hundred Acre Woods
Price would be Kanga because there's no one else that accurately emits that fatherly motherly aura
Gaz would joke that he's going as Roo to accompany Price, but will change it last second and show up as Piglet
Soap would bounce on Tigger before anyone else could claim him (he's sooo Tigger-coded, I can't explain, he just is)
And lastly, for Ghost, I can think of no better fit than the king of brooding himself: Eeyore <3

The reason Mando does so many ā€œside questsā€ is because heā€™s poor. He has to work for everything. He lives a self-sufficient life on the road bringing money back to his tribe to support them because Mandalorians arenā€™t safe and can only show their faces in town one at a time or theyā€™re perceived as a danger because of how they look and what reputation is attributed to that appearance by many people. Almost every single episode has somebody picking a fight with Mando over the armor when heā€™s literally just standing there. He has to fight, scrap, save, barter, trade, and work for every single thing he has because the alternative is dying, or people he cares about dying. It doesnā€™t matter if itā€™s because theyā€™re attacked or because they literally donā€™t have the money to eat, most of the Mandalorians weā€™ve seen live hand to mouth day by day, surviving out of sheer willpower and working together
Season 1 Episode 2: His only means of transportation (/place of living) is scavenged for parts and stolen in pieces. Heā€™s forced to negotiate with the ones who took his stuff and do a job for them so he can get it all back before then having to rebuild the ship (when he shouldnā€™t have to trade anything for it to begin with)
Season 1 Episode 4: He wants somewhere safe and unassuming he can lay low with the kid and agrees to scare off some local bandits so he can have lodging. His original long term plan was to stay on Sorgan for a few monthsā€” Heā€™s willing to fight the bandits and the Walker because that village was where he was given somewhere to eat and sleep and because he had intended to live there long term
Season 1 Episode 5: The hunter that found them on Sorgan forces him to acknowledge heā€™s not allowed to remain sedentary. He tries to go back to his old job, working as a bounty hunter for money; he and the kid can live on the ship, though it isnā€™t ideal, but he needs food, fuel, and immediate ship repairs. The betrayal of the gunslinger and confirmation from a target that word of him breaking the Guild Code has reached the literal farthest reaches of the Outer Rim solidifies that he canā€™t be a legitimate hunter anymore and that people who recognize him or the kid (or recognize them because theyā€™re together) will be gunning for the reward, leading toā€”
Season 1 Episode 6: Mando going back to the only other life and means of making money heā€™s known, working shady jobs with criminals in the hope of receiving payment. The job proves even more unpredictable and dangerous than the last one and puts him back at square one again.
Season 2 Episode 1: Mando is a well-rounded character whoā€™s been given an objective outside of just surviving to the next day. He only ends up in Mos Pelgo because he needs information, and he only agrees to fight the Krayt dragon becauseā€” as a well-rounded characterā€” heā€™s promised culturally important relics of his people that he holds in the highest respect. The armor of a dead Mandalorian being given the proper respect (showing the honor he has for his people) is shown to be tied in importance with the kid. At least heā€™s given some food for the road because itā€™s clear he wasnā€™t being paid any money in addition to it.
Season 2 Episode 2: Chasing the barest lead on information about other Mandalorians forces him to take the dangerous passage he does; he only ends up having to survive the ice planet because of the threat of incarceration if he didnā€™t run. Heā€™s not being paid in money here either AND his ship is literally barely holding together. If it was a horse heā€™d have to shoot it.
Season 2 Episode 3: Bo-Katan is his last lead on information about a Jedi. The child needs a Jedi teacher so heā€™ll be safe. By this point Mando is desperate and BKK forces him to do a dangerous job in exchange for information. Heā€™s not getting any money this season because all of the jobs he does are in exchange for information and itā€™s a lot easier to manipulate and force people who need a favor from you to do whatever you tell them because you have something more specific than money they canā€™t get anywhere else. He doesnā€™t have enough money to cover a good fix of the Crest but doesnā€™t have anything to leverage against the mechanic who did a partial job for all the money he did have left, meaningā€”
Season 2 Episode 4: He has to call in a favor from a friend. Kargaā€™s willing to cover his fuel, repairs, and docking fees, but oh Mando while youā€™re here I have this pesky Imperial infestation and since itā€™ll take a while for your ship to be repaired and youā€™re not busyā€¦
Season 2 Episode 5: Now heā€™s finally found a Jedi. Now he may finally be able to give the kid to somebody who can protect him and teach him how to protect himself. Now the kid may finally be able to live a long, safe life, even if it means it canā€™t be with him. Oh right except this Jedi says she isnā€™t really a Jedi anymore, and also sheā€™s kind of busy, but maybe sheā€™ll think about it if you help her do her own thing in liberating a townā€”
Only for Ahsoka to then go back on her deal because she has her own thing going on. Considering how important the whole Thrawn mission is shown to be later, Iā€™m not all that convinced she was ever going to take the kid as an apprentice. She may have been on the fence and maybe considered doing it if Elsbeth didnā€™t give any information up, but if the whole Ahsoka show was about her search for Thrawn, itā€™s obvious she has a lot more involvement in that than sheā€™d be able to afford if she took the kid as her ward. The idea that the kidā€™s too attached to Mando for her to take him as a student seems like a pretty convenient excuse considering she knows this guy has zero clue about anything to do with the Jedi. It doesnā€™t matter if sheā€™s right or not, she could have been upfront about having more pressing matters she was devoted to so he would have the option of not wasting his time there or doing a job for Ahsoka he wouldnā€™t be receiving payment or an exchange from.
And then the rest of season 2 is the bigger plot. Episodes 1, 3, 7, and 8 of Season 1 were the overarching plot.
Mando has to live life on the road in a dangerous and unpredictable galaxy doing dangerous and unpredictable jobs. Heā€™s poor. Heā€™s a survivalist. Heā€™s desperate. He makes friends because interpersonal ties are often the only other form of currency he has, and those ties still often come with requests for favors or work in exchange for what they can do for him. Hardly anybody is giving him anything, and even when they do, he still feels obligated to pay them back.

Sharpodonties, Currency Exchange, and How Much Money Vertin Can Actually Make
Honestly looking at some of the richer character's belongings I think about how rich Vertin must be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It takes around 180 Clear Drops to have one pull. I heard some players having 100 pulls or the regulars having around 30-40 pulls. This means Vertin at some points can have 6 of Isolde's designer jewels or multiple copies of designer shoes.
The evaluation of their prices are based on Pandora Wilson's biases since Pavia's jewelry has gotten a negative value status (which I find improbable in real life objects).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The valuation of the objects are a little bit more unreliable because the characteristics of money is that it is:
Uniform (5 pesos is 5 pesos, 1 dollar is 1 dollar regardless of person)
Value (it is seen as a transfer of value) (This replaced barter since barter requires the "coincidence of wants" which means Person A wants what Person B has and vice versa. This doesn't always happen, thus the need of a universal transfer of value: currency)
Portability (can carried around)
Durability (not perishable)
So what currencies do we have in Reverse 1999? Well it seems that we have: Clear Drops and Sharpodonties.
Tumblr media
Dust is not a currency since it is a transfer of energy NOT a transfer of value. So it is more like a power up snack. It seems to be a gatherable resource from arcane energy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Does it have anything to do with Apeiron?)
Anyways, back to the two currencies, it is clear that Clear Drops are considered more valuable than Sharpodonties. It might have something to do with the storm since it's shape seems to be going up. At the same time, it appears to be like crystal...so like gold currency perhaps?
Tumblr media
Sharpodonties, in the other hand, are the more commonly mentioned, used, and exchanged currency.
Tumblr media
It seems to be a universal and exclusive arcanist currency that is used by arcanists around the world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For example, Zima (Russian) and Kanjira (Indian) both use Sharpodonties.
It seems like it wasn't always this appearance since Sharpodonties underwent currency evolution like other currencies do. In Melania's event, she was in charge of protecting the Mainedonty.
Tumblr media
The Donty currency family have a collective characteristic to bite and to sense arcane blood. The Sharpodonty then becomes a perfect currency for exclusive use by Arcanists. It is portable, valued, durable, and assumes a uniform form. Surprisingly enough, it is also...edible.
Tumblr media
If we look into some stories, you would see that Sharpodonties are listed amongst ledgers.
In Medpoc's 2nd story, it is basically a ledger of their expenses:
Tumblr media
Pioneer, who is a businessman, also seems to use US Dollars and Sharpodonties at the same time for transactions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now the question is: What is the exchange rate between a US Dollar and a Sharpodonty?
It is not always clear because we have to account for inflation, supply and demand, and other factors. But I have a clue.
Looking back at Medicine Pocket's ledgers, they listed different items that they purchased with Sharpodonties. Let us use DOG TOYS as an example using this example from real life:
Tumblr media
Given:
$ 3.30 per 1 teething dog toy (real life)
o 40 per 15 dog toys (Medpoc)
Question: What is the exchange rate between US Dollars and Sharpodonties?
Let's determine the price of the dog toy in the 1990s.
We can reasonably assume that the exchange rate between Arcanist currency and dollars will change depending on the state of US currency. Using equivalent exchange, I determined that the price of a teething dog toy is $1.36 dollars per dog toy in the 1990s.
Tumblr media
2. Find the rate of Sharpodonties per dog toy.
This will help both currencies have a comparable object to compare prices to. Let us summarize Sharpodonties into an abbreviation called ACS (Arcanist Sharpodonty) using the same naming convention used in real life currencies. 1 dog toy is equivalent to 2.67 ACS or 1.36 USD.
Tumblr media
3. Find exchange rate.
Using equivalent exchange again, we can determine that the exhange rate between ACS and USD is:
1 ACS = 0.51 USD in the 1990s(forgive my error, the exchange rate from 1 USD to ACS is 1 USD = 1.96 ACS NOT the other way around)
If we are to consider that Arcanist currency hasn't deflated in value but USD has, then the current exchange rate as of 2024 will be:
1 ACS = 1.23 USD or 1 USD = 0.81 ACS (0.80909091) which means that ACS has become a more valuable currency.
I converted the ACS to other modern day currencies of Russia and Great Britain.
Tumblr media
That means that Zima's quill costs around 758.85 Russian Rubles today and Kanjira's headband costs around 73.17 Indian Rupees.
Tumblr media
Digger's Bubble Glasses will then be around 65.05 British Pounds. Feel free to use this chart for converting the price of items that the characters have.
I didn't account for Clear Drops since 1) it is not an often used currency, 2) I have not seen a general (not handcrafted or unique item) item that I can compare to a real life item.
What does this mean when it comes to Vertin's income? She earns 9000 ACS everytime she goes to Mintage Aesthetics. This means she earns around 11,070 Dollars for each trip. She also has passive income. If she uses all her energy (let's say 7 times a day to account for 190 stamina) each day, she earns around $77,490 each day or around $2,324,700 a month. Of course, we are not accounting the passive income that she can earn from the Wilderness or from rewards or gifts.
In conclusion, Vertin and her gang are easily rolling in dough!
