happy TEN FUCKING YEARS since @gaslampsglow and I shared the only bed, bit each other platonically, fell asleep curled up against each other, and only finally kissed and admitted we were into each other after waking up later that day. (then we had sex like forty seven times.) three months later I moved into their house, and today we made bacon and toast with jam and bingewatched the series finale of ARCANE and screamed and took the dog for a long walk and showed each other things on the internet and went out for dinner and affogato in a favourite neighborhood. tomorrow we make our Sunday morning trek to the farmers market. love you, let's do this a thousand more times. we can cronenberg's-the-fly the genders around again; I bet we can still make some new ones.

Eppig Brewing 8th Anniversary West Coast IPA (Picked up at Windmill Farms). A 3 of 4. Surprisingly more malty and old-school than expected, though it's quite good. Some caramel and bready malt notes in the body and the hop notes are pretty standard citrus/pine with a little bit of vegetal character.

WIP wednesday
ohoho first wip wednesday on this account. thank you for tagging @idlenight :D i dont know whos already been tagged uhhhhhh,,,, you there🫵 your turn
i saw aurrie tagging this post as sidestep and it unlocked a memory of a super old wip of mine so its sad cyrus hours besties
also its important to me that you all know that the doc title for this is '"i had a funeral???" logical conclusion turns into "i have a grave?????"'
This was stupid. He was stupid. He should turn around. Leave. Now.
Cyrus was never one for sentiments. He learned early on that people like him didn't deserve much to begin with– mourning the loss of something was pointless when it was a miracle to even have it in the first place. Especially now. Sentimentality would kill him, he knew that. The farm made sure of that much.
But he was here, in front of a headstone labelled "In loving memory of Anathema", gingerly setting down a pot of daisies. His favourite.
The grave was underwhelming for the kind of person Themmy was. It was tended to, at the very least. A little bit dusty, which Cyrus had frowned at and dusted off, but remembered. There was only one other pot of paper daisies next to Cyrus' own. He cursed whoever placed them for not caring enough to give real flowers, and himself for not being able to give more.
Cyrus couldn't give a rats ass about the rangers. All of them left him to rot; he was simply returning the favour. But Themmy… Themmy was kind. He didn't deserve Cyrus' anger. Or what happened to him. Cyrus wasn't a good person, but he hoped that Anathema could appreciate what little he had to give.
Of course he would. Anathema was not a selfish man.
He sat cross-legged in front of the headstone, taking out a few chocolate eclairs from a plastic bag.
"Hey, Themmy," he whispered quietly.

just want to say this is an impressive work of mug scholarship
and that I'm probably not qualified to write it but I hope there's a story where Steve visits the trailer during a peaceful time and is like... why do you guys have all those mismatched mugs hanging up on the wall (because at his house everything matches or it's Out) and Eddie is like EXCUSE YOU every one of those mugs has a Significance and a Story attached to it, this is a family history, and proceeds to relate the story for any mug Steve points out (with gestures, character voices and sound effects)
to the end of his days Steve isn't sure whether those were real pre-existing stories or Eddie was making them up on the spot because he's good at improvising but either way it was enjoyable to listen to his tales
maybe at some point when he's pretty much a fixture there Steve brings in a mug he chose and diffidently asks if there could be room for one for the story of how he and Eddie met.
Eddie (banging a nail into the wall): there is now

Stone Brewing 28th Anniversary Hazy Double IPA (Picked up at Total Wine). A 3 of 4. Very stone profile to this with plenty of body bitterness and quite a bit of your classic West Coast hop profile, though there's a nice mix of tropical qualities here too. Quite strong, quite bitter, and some nice fruity sweetness.
