“Mister B!” Eight-year-old Noah yelled, skidding across the still-curtained-off stage. “When you said you had a boyfriend who played football, we didn’t think you meant he was famous!”
Noah, who was one of his students and the son of another dancer in Regulus’s company, was jumping up and down as he spoke. But his statement made Regulus’s stomach flip-flop.
He peeked out of the curtain to scan the crowd.
But there he was. Wearing a suit with his hair slicked back, James Potter was sitting in the audience, grinning as he whispered to Sirius, who was bouncing in his auditorium seat.
Regulus pulled out his phone, tapping the contact quickly.
“Baby? Shouldn’t you be getting ready?”
The sound of James’s voice soothed him a bit.
“Yes, except I was distracted because my student said there was someone famous in the audience!” he whispered, wading his way through a crowd of dancers.
“Ah shit. I tried to be inconspicuous, but this little kid wanted a hug, and-”
“James, what are you doing here?” Regulus asked, trying not to sound as nervous as he felt.
“I’m here to see you, baby. I love you, andI want to see what you do. I’m so proud of you.”
An odd emotion filled Regulus’s chest. Nobody besides Sirius had ever come to see him before.
“But what about the team?” he asked. “Don’t you have a party tonight?”
“Fuck the team. Most of them could use lessons from you, actually. Plus, you’re more important.”
And even though James did not know how to properly applaud in an Opera House, his all-out-screams of Regulus’s name every time he took the stage earning both him and Regulus dirty looks, it was the most amazing show of his life.

Andrew hummed as he removed his shoes and took off his coat.
Work was a drag, his boss was a dick, and his family was unbearable. But despite it all, he had you at the end of the day.
When he came home, he'd always hear your padded footsteps coming down the hall to greet him.
You'd wear one of his shirts or wear a cute outfit he'd pick out for you, all to make him happy.
He just loves you so much.
I mean, that's why he took you in the first place.
You had no idea who he was, only that he was a customer that came at odd times of the day in the cafe where you worked.
He could only guess how poor the pay must've been. How miserable you were... Yes, that's it.
As he watched you, he could spot the circles under your eyes, and he knew instantly that fate had brought you here, or maybe it was a cult summoning? Either way, you belonged with him. And he would bend heaven and earth to keep it that way.
Andrew blinked away his train of thought and looked up. He hadn't heard your footsteps.
That was unusual.
Andrew quickly slipped his bag to the ground and walked further into the house.
The kitchen was empty, minus the dishes and pots from last night's dinner that still remained untouched in the sink.
The living room was empty, minus the tissues scattered all over the floor, and the blankets that pooled the floor.
With his heart racing, he sprinted to the last room he hadn't checked. The bedroom.
He pushed the door open with haste; his eyes wildly searched the room.
The bed was unmade, and the sheets were shoved off the mattress, trailing onto the wooden floor.
As Andrew stepped further into the bedroom and he could hear the sound of the shower, and small sniffles coming from inside.
Andrew let out a sigh of relief, you hadn't left. You were still home with him. But now he had another problem to deal with.
He knocked on the bathroom door and heard a quick shuffle from the other side. The water turned off and Andrew flinched at the sound of objects crashing.
Then out you came, your eyes were red and your hair was messy, as if your fingers ran through them constantly.
You mustered a smile for Andrew, muttering out a weak 'welcome home' before Andrew grabbed your arms for inspection.
"What happened? What were you doing? Why were you crying?" He craned his neck out to try and look inside the bathroom, but you quickly closed the door.
"I was about to take a shower when you came home so uh, I dropped some bath products when I realized I hadn't greeted you." It was a horrible lie, really. You knew lying was one of Andrew's biggest pet peeves, even if he lied consistently himself.
"My little lamb, you're not making a lot of sense right now..." Andrew tried giving you a sweet smile, but the vein twitching in his forehead told you how he really felt.
His grip on your arms became tighter, and he leaned in closer, "I would like to know what you're keeping from me, please."
"I... I was crying," you cringed at how weak your voice sounded.
"Clearly, what else? Don't stall for time you don't have Y/N. Tell me who hurt you, I don't fucking care for the reason."
You peeled Andrew's hands off of you which was surprising giving his intense tone. You slowly walked to the bed and sat down, tracing the thread that was imbedded in your mattress. Your eyes lingered on the white sheets for a second too long.
Andrew followed suit, instead opting to go on his knees in front of you as to hold your hands.
He traced his name on your wrists with his finger and hummed a low tune, unremarkable at best, but it calmed your nerves.
"You are my bleeding heart, Y/N. Everything you feel, I long to taste, everything you love, I devour, and every secret you keep from me I savagely rip apart to find. What could you possibly keep from me, that I wouldn't find out in under a day?"
You kept still, refusing to meet Andrew's gaze.
"You have to promise you won't.. um, get mad." You chewed on your lip as you thought about your next words. The lump in your throat grew harder to swallow the more you thought about it.
How were you supposed to deliever such... news, when that news made you want to rip your hair out from stress.
"yeah, I promise. My little lamb, tell me, what is wrong?"
"I'm scared, Andrew." You looked up.
"Scared?" Answered Andrew, who let go of your wrists to instead settle around your waist.
He continued, "What could you possibly have to fear while with me? Are you afraid of someone?"
You shook your head, "no, well maybe, not yet I-" You took deep breaths, your chest felt like it was going to crack from the pressure.
"Not yet? What does that even mean?" Andrew furrowed his eyebrows and scrunched his nose, trying to make sense of it all.
"Andrew, do you know what day of the month it is?"
Andy groaned; his patience was begging to grow thin. "Y/N, I'm done playing this game with you. Are you trying to provoke me to extreme measures or something?"
"No! Just... answer the question. What day of the month is it?"
Andrew shrugged, "It's the first of the month. It's my mom's birthday. It's trash day. It's Monday. I don't fucking know what this has to do with our conversation, Y/N!?"
"No Andrew, just listen to me! Look, I usually get my period on the first of every month. But last month I didn't get my period."
"So?" Andrew looked at you with annoyance in his features.
"So.... I should have gotten my period last month, but I didn't. I'm not an irregular person and I've been here awhile so..."
Andrew's features stayed scrunched with confusion and annoyance as the words mulled over in his head.
Then it hit him.
Andrew fell back on his butt in shock, staring at you, your belly, and then back to you. The realization so big that his brain stopped the train to language station.
"You're pregnant?" He muttered.
You nodded, the tears that danced on your waterline finally falling. Your chest shook, and you gasped deep breaths, the pressure you had on your chest this morning, becoming ten-fold the weight as Andrew processed this information.
Your head hung low as the sobs shook your ribcage.
Without realizing it, Andrew got back up and sat beside you on the bed.
Wrapping his arms around your head and body, so that your body pushed against his chest.
A gigantic smile placed itself on his face, every bad thing that happened up until that point dispearred in a cloud. The only thing he could think about was the baby you were growing.
His baby.
Finally, Andrew let you go and grabbed your face, lifting it up so that he could place gentle kisses on your forehead. "My Y/N, thank you. This... fuck, I thought you were going to say something horrible, but this? Shit, this is the best news I could have ever heard, well maybe besides news of my sister's death or imprisonment but shit this is even better!"
His kisses became harder and more passionate. But he hadn't noticed the soul that had left your body. Instead, you looked at him terrified.
"But... Andrew, I'm not ready for this. I- I don't even think I'm old enough to be raising children, let alone birth one. This thing could rip me apart." Your breathing became quicker, the pressure on your chest becoming an unbearable pain.
You were so sure that Andrew would hate the idea of children, that he would have the initiative to take this thing out of you, but he was so happy, so much so he couldn't be bothered to notice your despair.
"Doesn't matter. You need to stop worrying about things that haven't even happened yet. You're pregnant, and that's all that matters. You're pregnant with my baby, and you will live through every moment." His smile never faltered as he leaned his head into the crook of your neck, humming a sweeter tune this time and rubbing your tummy.
"I'm not ready," you cried, shaking your head profusely.
Andrew looked up with a smile, trailing his forefinger down the bridge of your nose.
"Doesn't matter."
You held onto Andrew's hands as he leaned forward and embraced you. Sighing deeply into your chest.
"I love our little family. Don't you?"

Why would you be loved?
hozier x f!reader
Tumblr media
part two of lullabies <3 | part one | masterlist
cw: teeeeeny bit of violence at very beginning ... also 18+ ok if u are unfamiliar with me... this is my thing. this character is FICTIONAL before u attack me for sexualising THE hozier
word count: 3.2k
*i've decided i'd like this to be a slow burn... but don't worry! i will add things to keep u interested (or attempt to)
The sticky slap of their skin echoed through the room, my heart thudding loud enough in my ears to deafen the noise.
I lurched forward, grabbing the leggy blonde from the bar by her hair, yanking her off of Joe and slamming her naked body into the wall. She gasped loudly, falling onto the ground where she watched on in horror. I grabbed the nearest object I could reach - his bedside lamp - smashing the ceramic over his head, screaming in his face about how he's fucked this up for good.
Except that's not what happened.
I opened the door to the same scenario, except I didn't lose my temper and tear the two of them to shreds. My heart still pounded harder than ever, but I simply backed out into the hall without a sound. My eyes must've been something of a Tim Burton character as I walked back outside, leaving the front door wide open. I didn't even grab anything as my handbag was still over my shoulder. I dug around for my phone, finding nothing but an old gum packet, some lipgloss, and some loose change.
"Fuck," I muttered under my breath, running my hands through my hair. I had my phone in the bar. Did I leave it in Andrew's car? Fuck, did I leave it at the bar? I began to panic, frantically walking down the street. As if I could walk all the way back! It was at least 15 kilometres from my place. I didn't care though, continuing to pace in the cold in clothing more suited to warmer weather. I kept replaying what I saw over and over in my head. I'd usually call my mum, but...
The way his hands were digging into her skin, the way she kept repeating how good he was making her feel. I felt sick to my stomach, and the alcohol wasn't helping. I'm not sure they even saw me, but once he finished (judging by the sounds he was making, wouldn't be too long) he'd see the doors open and connect the dots.
I turned my head as I heard someone whistle from across the street, inexplicably grateful to see Andy's car. "What're you doin'?"
"Do you have my phone?" My voice sounded foreign to me, robotic and desperate at the same time. I crossed the street, heading straight for the passenger side.
"Your lifeline is right here, hence why I am," he laughed, holding my phone out to me. I just stood at the door expressionless, and he probably thought my drinks had been spiked or I'd gone mad. "You... alright?"
"Joe is cheating on me," robotically sounding again. Though saying the words out loud made it suddenly real. Joe is cheating on me.
"What?" His eyebrows shot up, dipping his head to see my face better. "What? When?"
"Like, literally right now," I laughed. I began to laugh hysterically, having to rest my hands on the top of his car to steady myself. I laughed so hard, tears began to stream down my face and my stomach hurt.
The next thing I knew, that familiar warm hand was on my back, followed by a soft, "c'mere". I turned to face Andrew, immediately bursting into tears. Real tears this time. He pulled me in close to his chest, one arm easily wrapped around my shoulders, the other cradling the back of my head. I sobbed into his shirt, likely accidentally digging my nails into his back as I clung to him. If I did, he didn't comment on it. He held me tight, rubbing soft circles into my spine with his palm. I don't know how long we stood there for, but when I pulled away, his shirt was soaked and covered in mascara.
"I'm so sorry," I gave a half hearted laugh, gesturing to the stained cotton. "I will wash it for you, I'm good at getting stains out."
"Don't be ridiculous," he smiled that poor you smile he always did, but this time it felt like a comfort as he shook his head. "You can come back to mine and shower. Then we can figure this out."
"No, no, I don't want to put you out." I protested, wiping under my eyes, undoubtedly smudging the black into my hairline. I sniffled, wiping my snotty nose onto the sleeve of my cardigan. If Joe was right about Andy being infatuated with me, I definitely just destroyed that in one simple, snotty gesture.
"I insist," he smiled, leaning against the side of the car. I was exhausted, and a nice shower in a house that didn't reek of infidelity sounded too good to reject. I nodded and climbed into the passenger seat for the second time tonight, switching on my phone to see no new messages. Maybe he didn't see me after all.
I slipped into an oversized hoodie of Andrew’s after my shower, steam on the mirror and condensation on every surface from the amount of time I was in there. I felt guilty using his water, but time slipped away from me by the time I realised. He had real shampoo and conditioner, not that pathetic 3 in 1 bullshit Joe used. I stole a hair tie and hid my messy curls in a bun. I honestly looked like a mess, but it was definitely an improvement from before. My eyes were bloodshot and puffy. Most of the alcohol had fleeted my system, so now I was just exhausted and forced to bask in the reality of the situation.
I walked into his living room where he was sat, one arm slung over the back of the couch while the other flicked through Netflix. It was strange to see him in his space, so comfortable and… domestic. No, we’re not doing this. Yet.
I looked down and saw a black border collie mix strewn across his lap. “Oh my goodness!” I swooned as I headed straight for the dog. Andy mustn’t have heard me, jumping slightly and cursing under his breath. “How rude of me. Who’s this little angel?”
“The breaking of my heart,” he began, hand over his chest as he stared lovingly down at his dog. “Elwood.”
“Elwood? Really?” I quirked an eyebrow, looking up to Elwood’s owner.
“It’s a beautiful name for a beautiful boy, I don’t understand the issue?”
I rolled my eyes, going back to snuggling the dog, kissing his face all over. “He is beautiful. Yes you are!” Elwood wagged his tail excitedly, slobbering happily all over my hands.
Andrew chuckled down at us, averting his eyes back to the TV, a soft smile lingering on his lips.
“Thanks for letting me use your shower, Andy,” I smiled, sitting beside him on the lounge, feeling like the human embodiment of the calm after a storm.
“Oh, that’s no problem at all," he grinned earnestly, playing the pilot of Breaking Bad softly in the background. He lulled his head to the side, eyes glistening in the soft golden lighting of the lamp in the corner of the room. "Want a tea?"
"Please," I nodded, Elwood now snuggled into my lap. The moment he left the room, I was left with the crushing reality of what'd just happened. The horrible sound that plagued my phonic memory, as if it were played through headphones at a deafening volume. I tried to focus on the TV, Breaking Bad had always been my favourite. It was no use, the gut wrenching ache within me only multiplied by the minute, tears welling in my eyes, daring to fall.
"I wasn't sure how you take it so I bought everything with me," he placed two tea cups onto his coffee table, along with a carton of milk and a canister of sugar.
"So adorable, you remind me of my gran," I teased, desperately trying to blink away any trace of sadness before he had a chance to see. I didn't need to burden him with any more tears.
"You know, I've been called far worse," he shrugged, taking his tea black, sitting beside me on the couch. "So I'll take it."
I hummed in response, mixing in my milk and sugar.
"So... maybe a redundant question, but, how're you feeling?"
"Well," I chuckled bitterly, sipping from my tea. "Probably feeling as you'd expect. Actually, that's a lie. I don't know how I feel honestly."
His eyes studied my features, and I deliberately avoided his gaze. His dog snored away in my lap, the TV just loud enough that any amount of silence couldn't be awkward.
"Has... anything like this happened to you?" I asked, despite the voice in my head telling me not to.
"Ehm, yeah. Not too long ago, actually," he sighed, running a hand through his hair, his chocolate curls flicking up at the ends, framing his face beautifully in the light. "We were together for three years. She was sleeping around with a friend of mine. She broke it off with me when she decided she'd rather be with him."
"Her loss," I mirrored that same pitiful look he always gave me, the slight drop in his expression making me feel guilty for even asking. "You make a mean cup of tea."
"If only she could appreciate the art of English Breakfast," he sighed, a sad smile lingering on his lips despite the sarcasm in his tone.
"I'm sorry to hear that, Andy," I sighed, tempted to reach out for him but deciding against it in fear of breaching some unspoken boundary. "I'll get out of your hair soon."
"You can stay- only if you'd like," he offered awkwardly, eyes flickering to mine as he fiddled with the handle of his cup. "There's a spare bedroom."
"No, no. You've been so kind tonight, I don't want to push it," I shook my head, misjudging the height of the coffee table, my cup hitting it with a sharp clank. Elwood startled, throwing his head back to look at me. "Sorry, buddy."
"You're not pushing anything," he laughed, shaking his head now. "It's late. The decision's all yours. But I must say, that bed might be nicer than my own."
"Quite persuasive, aren't you?" I grinned, throwing my head back against the couch, weighing up my options. Well, I can't go home. "Okay. I'll stay... if you're sure that's okay?"
"Well, because you're twisting my arm..." He joked, that bright, happy smile making its glorious return. "I'll get you a spare toothbrush and a bottle of water. You've had a big night."
"Yeah," I breathed, rubbing at my burning, no doubt bloodshot, eyes. "I am exhausted."
"Come, I'll show you to your room," he got up from the couch, extending his hand to me. I took it in mine, warm and calloused; so large, his fingers reached my wrist as he helped me from the couch. I followed behind him, the soft padding of our feet up the stairs slowly becoming the only sound audible. Elwood trailing close behind, of course.
He showed me to the guest room, nothing special, but somehow a massive comfort. A navy blue, fluffy duvet with a bedside table, a simple lamp and a copy of Inferno by Dante Alighieri atop it.
"Oh, I'll grab that toothbrush," he waved his hand as if he were finally able to dismiss the thought. I chuckled at the way he hurried out of the room, the exhaustion rippling through my body as I sat on the edge of the bed. He was right. This might be the comfiest bed I've ever had the pleasure of sitting on. I zoned out, staring at the carpet as I finally sobered up. These past few weeks had been fucked, and I knew they'd only get worse. My phone started buzzing rapidly as Andy came back into the room, a bottle of water, a toothbrush still in the packaging, and a sheet of panadol in his hands. He silently placed them onto the bedside table, both of us just watching my phone ring. It was Joe.
Against my better judgement, I picked up on the last ring, raising the phone to my ear.
"Where are you?" His voice was hoarse, unsuspecting. Idiot.
"Doesn't matter," I sighed, nauseated at the sound of his voice.
"Well, it does. I've been worried sick about you, you're meant to be home now. How would I know you hadn't been kidnapped or gone home with some creep?"
"That is ironic," I laughed, though there was no humour in my tone.
"The fuck are you on about? Get home right now." He was getting angrier by the second. Andrew could hear every word, his brows knitted together in disgust as he listened on.
"I did come home. You were a bit busy," I swallowed harshly, my voice failing me, beginning to shake.
There was silence on his end for a good thirty seconds, all air in Andrew's small guest bedroom thinning at once. "...Babe. We will get through this."
"I don't think so."
"Don't say shit like that. I love you, Y/N. We'll get through this stronger than ever. Just come home, baby. I'll make it up to you," he was speaking fast, panicked almost.
"I need some space," I replied weakly, eyes filling with tears again.
"No. I love you. Come home. Please, babe, pl-"
I hung up on him before he got the chance to manipulate me straight back into his arms, Andy watching me with a frown. Suddenly, it was all too real, and I was breaking down in front of him for the second time tonight.
He didn't say anything. I felt the bed dip beside me, his warm arm wrapping around my shoulder, pulling me in close. We stayed like that for a while - my head leaned against his shoulder as I cried, his head atop mine - until I felt like there was no water left in my body. I heaved a massive sigh, sitting up straight again.
"Oh, Andy, I'm so s-"
"You've nothing to be sorry for," he hushed me, sincerity written all over his face, kind emerald eyes revealing that he wasn't doing anything for secondary gain; he was just a beautiful soul. "Get some rest."
"Okay," I agreed, pulling back the covers with his help. I wanted him to stay, I didn't want to be alone. I wished he could've just laid with me, no meaning attached, but just to have the warmth of another to occupy the cold, empty bed. Instead I thanked him again, pulling the covers up to my chin.
"You know where my room is. I'll be there if you need anything," he smiled earnestly, flicking off the light before walking out.
Goodnight, Andy, I almost said, but sleep washed over me quicker than I could form the words.
I woke early, bathed in velvety caramel coloured sunlight, slowly beginning to register where I was. I made my way down to corridor to Andy's room, his bedroom door barely ajar. I put my ear to the door, not wanting to wake him if he were still sleeping. I heard soft pants escaping his lips, letting my curiosity get the best of me.
I gently pushed the door open, revealing the glow of his milky skin in the same light. His beautiful halo of curls sticking to his slightly sweaty forehead, his face contorted in pleasure and concentration as he worked himself beneath the covers. I couldn't suppress the noise of surprise that escaped my lips as he whimpered my name.
"Fuck-" He gasped, pulling his hand from under the cover. "I'm sorry, I-"
"Keep going," I encouraged, slowly making my way to him. Confusion plastered all over his face, he obliged, slipping his hand back under the cover. I sat before him, our eyes locked on one another as he picked up the pace. "Gooood, that's it."
His brows furrowed as he continued to worked himself, his Adam's apple bobbing in his throat with each swallow. I slipped into bed beside him, my hand replacing his. His breathing pattern grew irregular, every vowel of my name dripping off his tongue, igniting a fire deep in my core. I began placing wet kisses along jawline, making my way down to his neck, then his chest, then-
And then I actually woke up, heart beating at a million miles an hour. What. The. Fuck. Shame immediately coursed through my veins, burying my face into my pillow as I replayed the dream over and over until it was committed to memory. Am I an awful person?
I could vaguely hear Andrew singing along to Let's Fall In Love by Ella Fitzgerald in the kitchen, cautiously making my way down the stairs. I was disgusted in myself for even thinking of him in that way, let alone loving every shame filled second of it.
"Mornin'," I made myself known, sliding onto one of the stools at his breakfast bar.
"Good morning," he chirped, sliding a cup of coffee toward me. He had his glasses on this morning, his hair pulled back into a bun. "How're you feelin'?"
"Good," I lied through my teeth, concealing it with an enthusiastic nod. "Better, yeah." I just gave you a handjob in my dream and now I want you to pin me to the couch and make love to me all day. Oh, and I'm supposed to be grieving a near 6 year relationship, but now I'm just really fucking confused. "How are you?"
"Hungry. And I hope you are too," he grinned, revealing a big stack of pancakes he'd just cooked for us, as well as a bowl of chopped strawberries.
"I am, that looks lovely," another lie. I had no appetite. But I also couldn't say no to a man so sickly sweet. He sat beside me, soft jazz serenading us from his record player.
"What've you got on today?" He queried, plopping a pancake onto each of our plates.
"Might visit my ma, update her on... everything, I guess. Then I've gotta get my car. Maybe some clothes. Fuck, I don't even know what to do," I laughed awkwardly, taking a sip of my coffee. "You performing tonight?"
"Hoping to," he nodded, taking a bite of a strawberry. "You know you're more than welcome to spend the night here again."
"I couldn't possibly burden you for another night," I deflected, mirroring his actions and popping a strawberry into my mouth.
"You actually don't have to fight me each time, you cay just say no," he chuckled, shaking his head at me.
"I love spending time with you," I confessed, resting my hand on his arm, then retracting it just as fast. "I just don't want you to think I'm using you."
"Nonsense," he waved me off, scoffing. "It's nice to have some company. Plus, Elwood has taken a strong liking to you."
"The feeling is mutual," I laughed, breaking off a piece of my pancake for the dog happily wagging his tail by my feet. "I'm sure you have lady friends come and visit."
"Only ones who ruin their tea with milk and barely touch their pancakes," he remarked with a wide grin. I felt my cheeks turn hot at his stupid comment, finally digging in to my breakfast.
Maybe things weren't going to be so bad after all.
i don't love this... but this desperately needed an update. feel free to send requests of some stuff you'd like in the next chapter xx

Your hands smoothly ran down the black cocktail dress that you were wearing as you took your features in the mirror. Would he like what you chose just for him? You smiled thinking about his reaction to you all dolled up. Your stilettos were a gift from him and as promised you were going to wear them just for him.
Turning away from the mirror you grabbed your purse and headed to the front door. Tonight was the grand opening of a club run by the gentleman in question, Ari Levinson. You have both known each other for years and to say you were attracted to him is an understatement.
That man was hot as hell with his longer hair you could run your fingers through, his neatly trimmed beard and a body you could tell was built underneath his suits. You haven’t tasted the forbidden fruit yet but hoped one day you would.
Grabbing your keys you headed out the door for a hopefully fun night ahead of you.
Tumblr media
Walking up to the front door of the club you bypass everyone standing in line and give your name to the guy at the door. The man smiles at you as you walk into the building. The inside is busy with partygoers and you take in the scene around you. You wondered where Ari was but decided if he wanted you he could find you.
Walking up to the bar you ordered your favorite drink. As you are waiting a man walks up beside you and clears his throat. You glance to your right and see a handsome man standing next to you smiling.
“So, what’s a pretty thing like yourself doing in a place like this alone?”
You grab your drink and smile back at him. “Who said I was alone?”
The man chuckled at your reply. “Touché.” Offering his hand he says, “I’m Andy.
Shaking his hand, your eyes look him over as you say your name. He seems harmless enough and a bit nervous as he lets your hand go. You both make small talk as you take your drinks to a table. You learn he is a widower and a former attorney turned entrepreneur. He is a partner in this club along with his friend Ari.
You swear you could feel a chill go down your spine at the mention of his name. You knew he was watching you. The feel of his eyes on you made your knees weak. Just as you were going to say something to Andy you felt a hand slide down your arm and wrap around your waist.
Ari kissed your shoulder and chuckled darkly. “I see you met my business partner and friend Andy.”
Andy looks between the two of you and grins. “I didn’t know she was with you. It was a pleasure meeting Ari’s woman.”
Ari’s woman? This must be a joke. You both have always been friends so this was news to you.
Ari grips you tight as he leads you to a private elevator. Once inside he pins you to the wall. “You haven’t been here more than fifteen minutes and you’re already flirting with another man? My friend of all people.” He growls out at you but all you can do is smile at him.
The elevator’s door opens on the second floor and he grabs your hand, dragging you down the hall to his office. As soon as you both enter the office he slams the door behind you.
“Want to explain why you were hitting on my friend?” Ari’s dark blue eyes gaze into yours. You have never seen him like this before and frankly, it was hot.
“Well he did approach me first and all we did was chat. There was no flirting involved. Why are you jealous?” You pouted at him trying to get him to calm down but he ignored it.
His hand came up to your throat and squeezed just enough that it had your arousal flood your panties. This was new and you couldn’t help how bad you wanted him then.
“If I was a betting man I would say you did it to get my attention. Well sweetheart you have it now.”
He let go of your throat and crashed his lips to yours. You whimpered as he kissed you, his tongue dancing with yours as you let him dominate the kiss. This is what you have wanted, no, craved for so long. Ari walked you backward to his desk and bit your bottom lip.
“Do you know how long I have wanted this? I have dreamt many nights of having you on my desk and fucking you till you scream my name. Tell me you feel the same way.”
He lifted you onto the edge of his desk and slid his hands up your thighs as he pushed the dress over your hips.
Your head tilted back as he kissed down your throat. “Yes, Ari. I want this so much. Please ruin me!” You moaned out as his fingers made their way up your thighs and to your clothed pussy. His fingers dip into your panties as he starts playing with your clit.
Ari chuckled again and whispered into your ear. “By the time I’m done with you, you’ll be ruined for anyone else. Now let me worship you as you deserve to be.”
Ari kissed his way down your body and knelt in front of you. He pulled his hand free from your panties and started dragging them down your legs. By the time he got them off, he was kissing you up your thighs to where you wanted him most. Your fingers ran through his hair gently as he gave a kiss to your clit. You took a shuddering breath as he licked a stripe up your pussy and kissed your clit again.
Ari groaned against you. “You are so wet, sweetheart. Is this all for me?”
You moan as he starts to suckle on your clit and your fingers take purchase in his hair. “Yes, Ari! Only for you! Only… for… You.”
You feel his fingers press into your cunt and start to work you over. You swear he knows exactly how to work you as he curls his fingers and makes a come hither motion. Your orgasm is starting to build faster the more he sucks on your clit and fingers you. Within moments you are cumming and screaming his name like a prayer. Ari works you through your orgasm and starts to slow down as your thighs clench together almost suffocating him.
Ari goes to stand up and licks your arousal off his lips and beard. He loves seeing you half dazed and he hasn’t even fucked you yet. Ari quickly takes his jacket and shirt off. As you lean back on your elbows Ari discards the rest of his clothes. He groans at how you look and he can’t wait to be deep inside you.
Pulling you off the desk he turns you around so he can unzip your dress. The dress falls down your body and pools at your stiletto shoes. You go to take the shoes off but Ari tisks at you. “No sweetheart those stay on.”
Kicking your feet apart he gently bends you over his desk and slaps your ass. “Do you know how long I’ve waited for this? It’s been years that I’ve imagined this and now you’re mine.”
Ari rubs his cock against your pussy getting his cock covered in your arousal. He placed his tip at your entrance and slowly pushed in. The groans you both let out fill the air as he starts to pick his pace up. There is nothing you can do but hold onto the desk as Ari fucks you hard and fast. The echo of skin slapping against skin fills the air along with your moans. His fingers dig into your hips as he pistons in and out of your pussy.
You scream his name over and over again as you try to push back against him. Higher and higher Ari seems to take you as tears of pleasure fill your eyes.
“God this pussy is clenching me in the best way. If I had known how good you feel I would have bred you sooner. Do you want that sweetheart? Me filling your pussy up with my cum and breeding you? Then everyone would know you were mine. Mine to ruin.”
That was all you needed to hear as you moan his name over and over as you cum hard. Your pussy clenches around his cock and sends him over the edge as he groans your name. His hips frantically thrust making sure you took all of him. When he comes down from his high he is kissing his way up your back and to your shoulder. All you can do is hum from the pleasure he just gave you as he pulls you back against his chest and kisses your lips.
“Is that just what you needed, sweetheart?”
Slowly you open your eyes and chuckle. “That was perfect babe. From you being a little possessive down to wanting to breed me I swear you played your part to perfection.”
“Well, you did say you were into the breeding kink. So I wanted to try it out with you. Thankfully we don’t have to worry about anything since you are on birth control. But honestly, I love trying out all these scenarios with you. It keeps our relationship fun and exciting. I can’t wait to see what you want to try next.”
You grinned as you let out a sigh. “Ya know we haven’t tried anal before. I think you mentioned that was on your list so maybe we'll do that next time.”
It was Ari’s turn to let out a groan. “Now you have my full attention again.” His cock twitched in your cunt.
You let out a laugh at his statement. The both of you have an amazing relationship built on trust and that is something that took forever to build. Maybe one day you could be more than friends with benefits cause honestly you were in love with him. You wondered if he felt the same way. For now, you are going to enjoy these moments and figure out your feelings later.

The woman in front of you babbles on a few more seconds before you look at your computer confused. You are in over your head, and don’t know where to begin. Maybe lying on your resume was a terrible idea, and you were better suited for the coffee shop. They didn’t let you choose what hours you wanted to work, and you needed that. At least at this office you are given that luxury.
You were underqualified, and a kept woman of sorts. “Ma’am,” you glance up at her quickly. She has kind eyes, and an upturned nose. She was just a bit younger than you, and you want to trust her, but there’s that prickling feeling inside of you that makes you not trust younger women. “Do you know what you’re doing?”
You shake your head no, ashamedly. “I’m a fast learner though.”
“So was I,” she takes a moment to look around the office. You are the only two around, so you’re not sure why she’s so concerned. “Listen, take your time. It’s not that hard, but unfortunately there is a layout to things. You’re here, and I kinda like you. Mr. Drysdale isn’t a terrible human, and you’re at the front desk. So all in all you’ll be fine.”
You thank her, and nod your head. How the hell did you wind up here? Not just in your situation but this stupid place. You knew nobody, and now you’re left wondering if that was the point. That you wouldn’t be able to reach out to someone for help. You had no inner circle. No one to just vent to. It’s how he liked it. And what did that cost you? You look down at your left hand, and get angry all over again. You were past feeling sorry for yourself. Past begging and pleading for a different outcome. He hit you where it hurt.
Now you’re doing what is right for everyone. You’re becoming independent. Nothing is going to stop you. You’re not going to rely on a man. Or allow one to make you feel less about yourself. You’re going to make them proud. You’re going to…
Shit.
Your head ducks down quickly as a tall man walks through the door. He gives a quick glance your way, but you miss the crooked smile. You wouldn’t look at him. You couldn’t. You wouldn’t acknowledge his existence.
He bustles past you, directly to Mr. Drysdale’s office, and you finally stand up. Moving to jump in front of him. “I’m sorry, Mr. Barber, you’ll have to schedule an appointment with him.”
“So you do remember me?” How could you ever forget one of the most perfect human beings you’d ever met. You’re everything. Every first you ever had was with him. Every plan that you could ever make was with Andy. Everything was Andy’s. And that’s when he was younger.
His hair was lighter then, and he didn’t have that full delicious beard. He definitely didn’t seem this tall, or broad. Or scrumptiously thick. He was just a boy then, but now he is everything you knew he would be. He walks like he has so much power. Still commanding a room, and even the breath that you breathe, he steals from you.
You exhale slowly, nodding your head. What do you even say to this man? Quick look at his hand. He doesn’t have a ring, and now you feel invasive. But he’s got his hand on display. “I don’t remember you this quiet,” he smiles again.
He’s just as beautiful as you remember. Years ago the two of you had named all your children. You’re sure you have it tucked away somewhere. You even had your wedding planned. You had everything until he moved off. Distance became more than just the miles away that you were between you. It became the lack of communication. Then no communication. And as much as it pained you, you knew that he was gone, and he was forever going to be the one that got away.
Living a few decades had done his body good. He was — immaculate. Much taller than you remember. But apart from his physical appearance he still has that ability to make your stomach feel like mush. Like everything in this world ceases to exist because Andy Barber is around. You’re not a child anymore, but he still feels like he can stop time. Because when the two of you are together it’s the way that it was meant to be.
”Doe? You okay, sweetheart?” he asks again. You are sure you look like the biggest dork, standing in front of him to block the way to Mr. Drysdale’s office.
“You remember?” That little nickname was your undoing. How Andy managed to come up with it, he never told you. But it’s so soft and shy, something you weren’t then.
“There’s nothing I don’t remember with you,” why did that sound so sensual? It has to all be in your brain because you’re lonely. And he’s Andy. “You look good,” okay, now he’s lying. You look like a hot mess. Your makeup is mostly smeared on. Your clothes are things you found at a thrift store. Your eyes are bloodshot from lack of sleep. And your weight fluctuates too often for you to keep up with. Depression can do that to a person.
“I look — nothing — you just — better.”
“You never could take a compliment,” he gives a wink, and takes one more step towards Mr. Drysdale’s office. “Is something wrong?”
“You need an appointment to meet with him.”
Andy looks down at you with a smile. You swear he’s taller than he used to be. You can almost feel the way his fingers would dig into your skin as you — stop it. You’re at work. And he’s Andy. “Ransom, get your ass out here.”
You hear a chair roll back, and are irritated that Andy is going to make it look like you aren’t doing your job. Mr. Drysdale opens the door, standing in the doorway with both hands on his hips and shrugs. “You’re about five minutes late.”
“Your secretary has been keeping me. For good reason though. Maybe you should let her know who the District Attorney is,” your jaw goes slack as you look at him. He did it. He really fucking did it. Next stop, judge. “Doe, care to join me for some coffee afterwards, and you and I can catch up?”
“I can’t,” it’s not a complete lie. You can’t just go and get coffee randomly. Things have to be planned out. You have people you have to call.
“She can’t,” Mr. Drysdale agrees, opening the door wider. “Stop trying to steal my office managers. He’s not hiring. He’ll lie to you, constantly. I pay better, and have better hours.”
“I’m the DA though, and you’re just the…”
“Shut up, and get in here. We’re not talking about it. But seriously, don’t listen to him. He’s a dangerous flirt,” Andy is definitely dangerous. And that terrifies you. He shakes his head with a smile, but you know the truth. Andy is poison to you. The best tasting poison. You’d find yourself falling without even trying. Because he was once your everything. And then you both grew up.
Tumblr media
He darkens the doorway again, and you look back down at your computer. This is getting a bit ridiculous. You are trying to hold strong, and he is doing anything but that. He is a parasite sucking the life out of you until you fold to his desires. You’re not doing it. Losing Andy in the past was hell. Losing him now will be much more difficult. You’re an independent woman, goddammit.
“Doe?”
“You don’t have a meeting with Mr. Drysdale today. And tonight we’re closing early so people can enjoy the office party,” a party that was designed to celebrate another year of Andy being the DA. It was all very self gratifying for him. “Mr. Barber.”
“I don’t want you calling me that,” you glance up at him before returning back to your computer to just stare. You can’t even pretend to be working because you’re not. You’re just avoiding him and those looks, “Did I do something wrong?”
“Maybe calling me my childhood nickname? Nobody does that anymore, Mr. Barber,” he rolls his eyes before leaning over your desk. He’s too close. You can count the freckles that splay out over his nose, and smell his intoxicating cologne. The one you wish you knew what it was so you could be the girl that sprays a shirt and you can get a fill of him without having him. “Andy, what do you want?”
“For you to stop fighting my invitations to coffee. Or the office party. Or to dinner. Unless you have a perfectly good reason to tell me no,” he glances down at your left hand, and you feel sick. Would things be different a year ago? Would you still entertain Andy this long? The ego boost is working nice for your fragile self esteem.
But the way he looks at your left hand hungrily has you ready to actually vomit. This isn’t where you saw your life. Working in the Assistant District Attorney’s office while the DA barges in and compliments you, and asks you out on a daily basis. No. You were supposed to be keeping a house. And making sure your husband had dinner when he came home. And now you’re in fucking Newton and alone. Sort of.
Your tanline from your finger has since faded, and so should your conflicting feelings. Life wasn’t supposed to be so difficult. You know you sound like a child, but your dreams have been shattered so many times, and now here’s the first one waltzing back into your life asking for damn coffee. Or dinner. Or the office party. Next week will be something new.
“What if I just want to get drunk?” You had the means to go to the party. The means to do whatever you want. You didn’t have anyone relying on you tonight.
“Then I heavily suggest you let me make sure you get home safely and that nobody takes advantage of you.”
Do not allow this man to make that sound sweet. It’s not. It’s just basic human kindness. Stun him. Make him wonder and worry. Make him — want. Not just want, make him beg for the taste of you, “What if I want someone to take advantage of me?”
His eye brow cocks up, and his mouth turns up into a crooked smile. Andy’s knuckles bleach with how tight his fist is at the not so subtle suggestion. Good. You affected him as much as he’s been making you weak. “Any suggestions?”
There it is. The possessive Andy. The one that wants to let everyone know that you are his, and you are off limits. You want him to tell everyone that you belong to him. You want him to claim you in ways that the two of you feared when you were younger. You want him to own you. And you want him to leave you alone. One night. Just to prove to yourself you still got it, and then you want to live your life.
“Sweetheart, I won’t let anyone take advantage of you. You’re too precious for that.”
“And what if I want you to?” He growls. Actually growls. A rumble rolls up his chest, and he grits his teeth. His jaw pulses with desire. “Just one night.”
“There’s never been just one night between us,” you scoff. He’s making things difficult.
“You’ll just have to make it that way,” he wouldn’t want your baggage anyways. The two of you are adults now. You can’t be running around acting like teenagers and fucking everywhere you land. You have responsibilities and a job. A life. And…
“If you think you can say no to me after one night,” he challenges. Prick.
“It’s what it will have to be.”
Tumblr media
He slams the two of your bodies against the door, and you shudder. Arching your back to bring your body closer to his, and his meaty hands slap over your ass. Sliding down the spheres before lifting you up, and you hungrily wrap your legs around his waist. Bringing him to your core, ripping your dress, but sighing at feeling his bulge next to you. Thankfully it was only ten dollars at GoodWill. Focus!
He grinds his hips into your aching body, and your vision blurs at the sensation. Head pointing up to the heavens while you offer up your sacrifice to Andy. Gasping for air, and his mouth traces down your neck. Tasting and nibbling your heated glaze, and your fingers make work of his button up shirt.
“You’re eager,” he rolls himself into your center, and you gasp at how hard he is. These slacks leave nothing to the imagination. You can see the perfect outline of him, and you need him naked now.
“Shut up, and fuck me,” removing your back off the door, he carries you down the hallway. Clawing at the back of your dress, and it’s fine, it’s already ripped. Tearing at the material with the need to only get you naked, so he can have you.
Andy drops your back onto the bed, untangling his arms so he can remove the rest of your dress. “Don’t worry, I’ve got some sweats for you,” you wish he would stop talking.
“Fuck me!”
Standing up, and off your body, you hate the loss of him, but enjoy him pulling and tugging on your underwear. Disposing of your bra, and he holds your legs open wide. Tilting his head to get a good look at your spread and weeping cunt. “Mmm, you look good enough to eat. Doe, you’re prettier than I remember.”
Why is he lying? Stop staring. It’s making you feel uncomfortable. You don’t have the body of a teenager anymore. Time is cruel, and the longer he stares, the more you want to just walk out of here. “Fuck,” his eyes roll in the back of his head when he enters a finger into your warmth. “Just as tight.”
Lying again. He probably says this about all his fuck buddies. You sit up in the bed and start jerking off every bit of clothing on his back. Making way to his pants, and you slowly undo his zipper. Peeling away his boxers, and you moan when his fat, thick, veiny cock bounces up in your face. “It’s yours. Go on, and take it,” Andy watches you with so much enthusiasm as you lick his precum off his slit.
Mewling at the musky taste that can only be described as Andy Barber. Your body liquifies and arousal pools in your core. You kiss down his shaft, keeping your eyes on him. There’s a lot of things that time can change. Your ability to suck a cock like a pro is one of them. Getting to the base of his length, your tongue twirls around the velvety steel, and you trace kisses over his sack. Keeping your eyes on him as you suck one into your mouth, and he lurches.
“You’re a goddess,” he groans, and you move over to the other. Massaging the testicle with your tongue before letting it fall out. Laying your tongue flat, you trace that delectable vein up his glorious dick before you reach his spongy head, and you swallow him. You try to swallow him whole, but come short. He somehow became bigger.
Wrapping both hands around his base, you bob on him. Gagging and slurping up the wetness before his hands grab both sides of your head, and you let your hands drop to your side, “Are you wanting me to fuck your mouth?”
Hollowing out your cheeks, you place your hands to grip onto his toned thighs. “You’re such a slut for me,” he says before his hips piston into you. Hitting the back of your throat like a man on a mission, and you let him take it. His pleasurable sounds are better than you remember. Maybe he’s just more comfortable. He’s older. More experienced. Not as timidly as the young man he was.
He halts his ministrations before pulling himself out of your throat, and you long to taste his cock again. His hands go under your armpits before he throws you up the bed. His wide body keeps your legs spread, and gripping his base, he runs it up and down your slit. Gathering up your juices. “Andy!”
“Shh, I’m enjoying seeing you spread open and begging for me to fuck you. Use your manners,” no. You can leave at any time. But you don’t want to. You want him to use you like his own personal sex doll. “Don’t be such a fucking brat. Say, please.”
“Please.”
“Is that all?” Oh, who is being the brat now? “Go on. Say it. My cock does want to sink into your warmth, and have you quaking and spread so wide. Keep you full and…”
“Please, fuck me, daddy,” the whine of your voice has him snapping his hips. Plunging into your needy cunt in one move, and you reel. Fingers gripping onto the bed sheets, and seeing stars with the depths that Andy reached. “You’re huge!” You gasp for air.
“So you’re saying when we were younger?”
“Not this — oh god — big!”
“I always loved it when you would go dumb on feeling me inside of you,” this cock is dangerous. It’s what all fantasies are made out of. Long, but not too long. But so fucking thick. Stretching you so wide that your toes curl. Back lifting off the bed because you can’t get enough of him. When was the last time you felt this satisfied by a human? The answer to that is depressing.
His movements are deliberate. They’re smooth like your body was made for him. He wouldn’t have to do anything, but just let you warm him. Keep him close to you forever. One night. Maybe a second night. No. Don’t fall for him. Don’t dream about his cock. He doesn’t need your mess of a life.
He pumps into you so slow, and you’re wrecked. This is better than you remember it. But you won’t allow your head to imagine that now is yours and Andy’s time. You won’t allow yourself to get worked up. You were teenage lovers that drifted apart, and you’re doing this one more time. That is all. Not more than that.
“Doe,” god, his voice. It tingles through your body, and you look up at him. He says your real name, smiling down at you. His voice dropped a few octaves with age, “Stay with me, baby. I know it feels good.”
“Don’t pre…”
“Aye! That happened one time. And it was our first time,” you can’t help but smile. You both were each other’s first, and it was less than stellar. It was raw, and unexpected. But you did it together. “You like this, huh?”
“That obvious?” He stabs into you with a quick hard thrust, and your mouth droops open. Fuck. He’s good. He’s too good. He’s too right. Does this ever have to end? Can he just stay seated inside of you forever? That’s not really the way you want to live life, but it’s a nice quick and fleeting thought.
It’s almost too slow and intimate. Like the way he’s fucking is more worshiping you and promising you another time tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day. And you’re fighting that with all the resistance you can muster. You need him to fuck you and fuck you so hard and deep that it has a lasting effects and you won’t need him again. Even though you know that’s a lie.
“Andy, I…” his expression is pained, like he knows what you’re asking. “Please, don’t make this difficult.”
“I don’t want to. I want to make you mine,” the sentiment is too good to be true, and you hit on his shoulders. Letting him fall to his back before you saddle on up. Grabbing the base of his cock, you sink down over him, and fuck him. Use him for your pleasure. Bucking on top of him like you were made to do this. Your hands press hard into his toned chest. He got so much better with age, and then you are just you. Just plain. Just a woman that nobody would want in the daylight.
Getting yourself off is easy since he’s being a vocal man. You’ll let your legs be rubbed raw if it means you get to take him fully and to the hilt. It’s gotta last. It just has to. If life were different and it was easier, you could make this happen. You should tell him. Let him know the truth that changed your world. “I’m not able get pregnant,” keep it simple and easy. He doesn’t need to know the details.
You don’t know how he did it, but he has you off his body. Pushing your front onto the bed, and keeping you on your knees when he crawls behind you. Hands tightly on your hips as he slides all the way home. The only sound in the room is wet skin slapping on each other and needy hungry moans. Reaching under your stomach he lifts your back to his front as he pounds into you.
“Then let me fuck you like I’m going to breed you,” you whimper out his name, and an arm wraps around your neck. Holding you tight against him and adding pressure to the soft column. Cutting off a bit of your airflow, and making you dizzy. “Let me fuck my seed so deep in your belly, and make you mine.”
The words are so sweet and still so vulgar. “Yes! For real this time,” a few too many accidents in the past led to pregnancy scares. You don’t want an accident. You want him in your belly. You need him there. “Fuck me harder!”
He fucks you so hard that you know your going to bruise. The way he grips onto your soft curves tells you how badly he wants to keep you with him. “Look at me. Doe! Look at me!”
With furrowed brows you turn your head to stare into his eyes. “We’re about to come, and you’re going to keep your eyes on me, okay?” You nod your head as your orgasm builds in your belly. Bubbling and frothing just below the surface like a hot deadly volcano. Rumbling below the surface as he ruts into you like his life depends on it.
“Don’t take your eyes off me. Swear it!”
“I swear it,” one more slap into you, and your volcano erupts. Walls clamping around his cock. Placing him in a vice grip as thick ribbons of cum spurt inside of you. So much cream that you feel bloated, and so satiated. “Thank you,” you whisper as your eyes start to get heavy.
“Only a short nap. We’re going again. And again.”
“But I said…”
“You said, just for tonight. Not just one time,” you didn’t care to argue. You revel in the feeling of him in your belly as he starts to pull out. “Can I look?”
“What?” How does something so filthy seem sweet now. He wants to see himself inside of you.
“I’ve always wanted to look at you leaking without fear,” giggling you nod your head, and roll to your back. Spreading your legs open wide, while Andy settles in between your thighs on his belly, watching so closely and with bated breath as pearls of his seed drip out of you. “Perfect,” he hums, and starts fingering it back inside of you. “If I make it stick, you’re mine.”
“You won’t,” he hears the pain in your voice as you respond, and crawls up your body. Placing the softest most tender kiss up your imperfect body. Showing you love you can no longer give yourself. He ends on your lips, and kisses you so passionately that it takes your breath away. He won’t. And you can’t ever be his.
Tumblr media
Andy looks at his text message from Ransom, making sure this was your house. Suburbs. This didn’t strike him as your home. But Ransom assured him it was. He walks up the steps to your home, and stumbles back.
“Andy? Why are you here?” Scott Huffman asks. A little girl clings to his leg, and she looks up at him smiling. “Aubrey, please, baby, get off daddy’s leg,” Andy looks at the little girl oddly. She has your eyes. “Go check on Suede.”
“Bubba!” She screams, getting off her dad’s leg. And he steps back. This is wrong. This can’t be right.
“What are you doing here?” Scott asks again. He grimaces when a loud bang reverberates inside the house, and he looks at his watch annoyed. “God, she’s late. I should have known she would be. Andy?”
“Umm,” he holds onto your clutch that you left at his house. Looking at Scott confused. He says your name, and Scott looks at him accusatory. “She left her — here.”
“How do you know my wife?”
“I’ve got to go,” Andy says, shoving the clutch into Scott’s arm as he walks away. No wonder you said that he couldn’t have you. You pranced around Ransom’s office without a ring. You trapped him. No. That’s not really the word for it. You said you couldn’t get pregnant, probably because you had your tubes tied after two kids.
What the fuck? How could you lie to him like that? He knows things didn’t end the way they should have. But cheating on your husband is another thing. Scott wasn’t really in his department, but he is aware of the lawyer. Ruthless. Come to think of it, he didn’t wear a ring either. He didn’t want to be in whatever sick bullshit you and your husband were playing.
He wants you. Wanted. Wants. He doesn’t know. And it doesn’t matter what he wants. Because you’re going to come home and be the perfect wife to your husband and at least two kids. And he’s going home alone.

Maris Street. You rarely go that way. It’s near the core of the town, closer to the west end where green hedges and white picket fences cordon off the suburban elite from the commoners like you. It suits him, doesn’t it? You assume this is what he’s used to.
The venom roils in your gut as you approach Oxford Drive. You stop before the sleek grey exterior. The black trims and large golden moniker in all caps add to the extravagant effect. Flowers boxes stand outside the windows that glow amber with rich ambience from within. The nicest place you ever went was the Korean Barbecue your dorm mate dragged you to; this is well beyond that.
You take a breath and look down at yourself. You’re still wearing the black jeans and plain tee you sport for your job. Former job. Your beat-up sneakers perfectly match your thrifted aesthetic and the purse strap twisted around your hand and wrist frays as if to assure everyone that you don’t belong.
You go to the front door and pull it open. You step inside to the low drone of stringy music and the subtle clink of glasses amid the low murmur of voices. You chew your lip as you approach the tall round desk where the hostess stands over the open reservation book, like some mystical keeper of scrolls. How very Skyrim of her.
She gives you a look, one you expect. You sniff and cross your arms, the strap of your purse further straining your circulation. You exhale and peek over at the dining room.
“Hi, I um...” your cheeks pinch as you find it difficult to speak. “I’m meeting someone.”
“You are?" Her skepticism drips from her voice, “are you certain they’re... here?”
“Yeah. I don’t know if he made a reservation or whatever. Obviously, I’m not a regular,” you snipe back. You’re too exasperated to hold back. You don’t need her judging you too. “Older, beard, uh, tall... Andy Barber. Is he in the book?”
She flutters her pretty lashes and looks down. You watch her. She’s a few years older than you. Tall, balayaged hair, slender, perfectly bowed lips. What about her? Or someone like her? Why wouldn’t he want that instead? Why is he bothering you?
“Barber,” she nods, “yes, he’s here.”
She seems surprised by that. She steps out from behind the desk and tells you to follow. You obey. You have to. This is all just pulling teeth. He has you toothless already.
You keep your head down as you trail behind her. You only look up as you sense a figure on the other side of her. Andy stands as you approach and you nearly choke. You want so bad to just turn around and run away.
A line deepens in his forehead and disappears. He smiles as the hostess waves you forward. He comes around to pull out the other chair before you can. You retract your arm and barely withhold your frustration. Can’t he understand you want nothing from him?
You sit stiff and fix your bag in your lap, slowly unwinding the strap from your wrist. The hostess promises a server will be with you soon and struts away. You stare at the table cloth and as Andy sits, darkening the edge of your vision, you turn to glare at the far wall.
You feel even more demeaned sitting there in your jeans in tea among the crystal and tall-stemmed lilies. The tinkle of the soft woodwind music makes your head buzz yet the smell of the food teases your empty stomach. Your eyes drift to a group of older women, laughing over wine, a symbol of what you’ll never be. Happy. Free.
“Thanks for meeting me. I guess you’ve never been here before,” Andy begins.
You shake your head and flick your eyes to the ceiling. You grit down on his words. Why is he acting like this is normal?
“Nice place, isn’t it?”
“Yeah,” you snap and look at him directly, nearly growling in his face, “very nice. Upscale. Well above me.”
You cross your arms and sit back, your purse strap still loosely clinging to your wrist. His chest rises and he exhales through his nose. He leans forward and his cheek ticks.
“I brought you here for dinner, so we could talk, get to know each other--”
“That’s not what I’m here for,” you insist, almost teary-eyed from your rage. You don’t like being angry. You’ve never been very good at and more times, you end up blubbering. “Kara, my friend--”
He tilts his chin up and sets his gaze firmly on you, “we’ll get to that.”
“No, now,” you hiss.
He huffs through his nose. He looks around, silently chewing his agitation. He sits up and replaces that manufactured smile as a server approaches.
“Good evening, can I get you started with drinks?” He asks, his dark shirt finely pressed and buttoned to the very top.
“No thank--” you begin.
“We’ll take a bottle of cabernet,” Andy interjects, “for the table. Oh, and could we get some fresh bread. This has been sitting out.”
The server acquiesces and takes the basket as Andy hands over the wine menu. You barely keep from rolling your eyes. You’re not here to eat and drink and be merry. Kara is quite possibly behind bars.
You glare at him and wait. The server leaves as you keep your arms folded, fingers clamped tightly. He looks at you as if there’s nothing wrong. As if this is all normal.
“I want to know what’s going to happen to Kara. You said you can help--”
“I can,” he says casually, “so let’s have a nice dinner and then I’ll do just that.”
“But she’s--”
“They’ll have her in holding, question her, then they’ll have to figure out charges, yada, yada,” he explains, “don’t worry, I’ll give them a call after, tell them my client is invoking her right to an attorney.”
Your chest thumps and your ears ring. He’s so confident. He already knows you can’t say no. Not to him or this dinner. You have to sit there and celebrate his victory that came with your defeat. It’s not right. It’s... it’s... deranged.
“Why?” You croak.
“Why?” He shakes his head.
“Why are you doing this? Why me? Why not someone... someone you can relate to? Someone your age?”
“Why you? You’re perfect, sweetheart. Perfect for me,” he coos, “come on, we get along. We did. I know I messed things up but it can’t change that we had fun. We did, didn’t we?”
You swallow and shrug. Those nights you stayed up and mined or raced or whatever, they were fun, they were nights you look forward to. But every single one was a lie.
“Sure, but... what if I’d lied to you? What if I wasn’t me? What if I was some guy in a basement--”
“You weren’t.”
“But what if--”
“I know you weren’t.”
“How could you know--”
“I just did. You’re so genuine, so... kind, that can’t be fake,” he insists.
You sink down, slumping your shoulders, and look away. What can you do? You’re exactly where you never wanted to be. With less options. With none.
“What do you want from me?” Your dry mouth crackles around your words.
He’s quiet as the server returns. He sits back and you lift your chin as you watch the server uncork the bottle. He pours the wine and Andy asks for a few more minutes with the menu. Again, you have no appetite.
When you’re alone again, Andy takes a breath and shifts in his chair. He brings his hands together, pinching his left ring finger as if he’s missing something. He quickly pulls his hands apart.
“You. That’s all I want,” he breathes.
You stare at him. You don’t understand. Maybe it’s because you don’t want to. If you keep denying it, it might not be the very idea that makes your skin crawl.
He reaches for his glass of wine and holds it out. You stare at it, then look him in the face. You can’t wipe the horror from your face.
“Cheers to us, sweetheart,” he says, “me and you.”
You shake your head as he waits. Slowly you take the glass before you and raise it. He clinks the crystal between you.
“It’s the first day of the rest of our lives,” he declares, “we can both build the home we always wanted. Together.”
🎮
Andy pays the bill as you wallow in futility. This is it. Your life is over. All because of one mistake. All because you trusted the wrong person.
He stands first and you follow. He grabs the to-go box of the food you barely touched. You’re in such a fog, you can barely think. He gestures you towards the door as he nudges you with the box. You hug your purse to your stomach and walk between the tables.
The cool night air wakes you up. As you come to the sidewalk, you stop. You turn back to him and wet your mouth, a hint of wine on your tongue.
“Call. Right now,” your voice shakes.
“What’s going on, sweetheart?” He inclines his head as if he doesn’t understand.
“The police. Call. You said you would help Kara,” you insist.
His brow arches and he nods. He holds out the container and you take it stiffly, letting your purse dangle from your shoulder. He pulls out his phone as he stares at you. Finally, he looks down and scrolls. He clears his throat before he puts it to his ear.
“Hi, yes, this is Andy Barber, I’m an attorney for a woman in your custody. Yes, I do.” You listen to the piecemeal conversation, “name is Kara Orascio. Yes, she won’t be talking to the police any longer. That’s correct.” He pauses and listens intently, “I’m out of town but I can be there tomorrow. Sure.”
He hangs up as his eyes cling to you still.
“So, looks like we need to pack,” he says.
“What?” You utter.
“Don’t you want to see your friend?” He challenges.
“Well, yes, but I thought you--”
“I’m not coming back here again. So, you’re coming. We’ll deal with your friend’s charges then we’ll go home.”
You blink, “home?”
“Sure, sweetheart, I got it all ready for you,” he turns down the sidewalk and takes your hand.
You have the urge to rip your hand out of his. You want to tell him not to touch you. You want to scream and run away. You don’t because you want to save Kara more.
“I meant what I said before. I can get you into school down there,” he guides you along, “you’ll like it. It's close to Boston. Place called Nelson. You ever been to Massachusetts?”
“Hm, no, didn’t travel much.”
“That’s okay. We can do some of that too. Still got lots of summer left. We could go somewhere sunny,” he drawls, “you know, it gets gloomy in the fall so we may as well enjoy it while we can.”
“Sure,” you murmur.
Your feet are heavy, your head too, every part of you just wants to give up. Haven’t you? Isn’t that what this is? You surrender.
“You okay, sweetheart?” He stops and lets go of you, fishing around in his pocket.
“I’m...” your vision narrows in; just like the moment you first met him. As Andy. As the real him. As the twisted man you just sold your soul to. “...tired.”
“Aw, yeah, well, it’s been a long few days. For both of us. You wanna come back to my hotel. The bed’s really cozy and the tub is deep. You could relax for the night before we gotta get on the road,” he offers.
You shake your head, “n-no,” you stutter. The last thing you want to do is be alone behind closed doors with him. “You said... pack. I should... do that.”
“Ah, I did. Alright, I’ll take you to your grandma’s. I’ll have to come early so we can get to your friend.”
“Right,” you agree coarsely.
“Trust me. I know how to handle cops,” he chuckles and pulls out his keys, unlocking the car right beside you. He opens the door and steps back, “I’ll call ahead. Get us a room as there too. I guess you’re going to want to catch up with your friend while we’re there. Might be a while before you see her again.”
You wince and look at him. A while. You look around at the street lights. You’re not unhappy. Leaving this place doesn’t matter to you but leaving Kara, possibly forever, that’s a knife in the chest. But forever is easier if you know she’s okay. If you know she doesn’t pay for your stupidity.
You nod and get in the car. You can’t speak. If you even try, you’ll bawl. The end is there, you feel it closing you in with the car door.

Haircuts and Water Fights
Eddie Munson X Fem!Reader
Summary : You’ve always had long hair, how will your boyfriend, Eddie, react when you cut it off?
Word Count : 1.3k
Tumblr media
Warnings : Fluffy, many swears, it gets a bit saucy but no smut, just Eddie and reader being cute, talks of cutting Eddies hair (love his curls lmao)
Authors Note : Purely just rambles and fluffy stuff cause I had a haircut 🤍

You’d always been someone with hair on the longer side, it had never been cut above your lower back. You decided you wanted a change, a big change. You had graduated highschool and decided you wanted to do it.
Walking out of the hair salon you couldn’t help smiling, your hair was now resting above your shoulders, cut in a similar style to Robins.
Speaking of Robin you decided to go and pay her and Steve a visit. Pushing the door open to FamilyVideo, you waved over to Robin. Her jaw dropped, “Holy shit! It looks great!” she almost shouted.
“Thanks Robs,” you smiled. She came over and played with the short strands slightly, “It really suits you. Dingus come look!” she called to Steve who was in the back.
“Wha- Woah,” he stopped, putting a box of tapes on the counter. “Now I wasn’t expecting that, you’ve had Rapunzel hair forever.”
“Thought it was time for a change,” you shrugged.
“Has Lover boy seen it?” Robin asked.
“He’s working today, I’m seeing him tomorrow. He doesn’t know either.”
“Well if he has an issue, I’ll hurt him. You look great,” Steve smiled, ruffling your new cut.
“Thank you, now do either of you want lunch?” she asked the pair, who nodded eagerly. “Write it down and I’ll go to the dinner and get it.”

You had worked at the diner for a few years now, originally as a summer job, but now the shifts had picked up. It wasn’t too busy, as you wondered through. “Hi how can I help- Wow!” Your coworker Millie said. Chuckling slightly, “Good wow?”
“Yes! It looks great.”
“Thanks Mills. Do you think you could put me an order through?” you asked, handing her the piece of paper. “Sure, you sit tight.”
“Can I hear my favourite girl?” Andy the owner of the diner asked, coming to the front. “Hey Andy,” you smiled.
“My oh my look at you! Honey you look stunning!” he said, pinching your cheek.
“Thank you.”
“You got an order for me?” he asked.
“Just sent it to Millie.”
“I’ll get on it then, you staying?”
“Not today, Im going to eat with my friends at Family Video.”
“Sure thing.” You got comfy on a stool and waited for the food. Millie slid you a glass of lemonade, “Thanks Mills, how much do I owe?”
“$12.60”
“That’s way too cheap!”
“Employee discount,” she shrugged, winking at you.
~ / / / * \ \ \ ~
“Right I am going to leave you two to do your job,” You said, jumping off the counter, throwing your stuff in the trash. “Thank you for the lunch.”
“No worries, I’ll see you around. Robs I’ll call you later.”
“Course, I’ll speak to you then.”

Parking up next to Eddie, you saw him washing the van. You couldn’t help but pause and watch him, topless, hair pulled in a bun, tattoos on show, decorated in chains.
“Hey pretty boy,” you called him. He turned smiling, “Hey gorgeous.” He stilled for a second, taking you in, noticing your hair hanging by your shoulders.
“Holy shit.” Dropping the soapy sponge into the water filled bucket, he wiped his hands off. Jogging over, he held your face in his hands. Playing with the shorter strands, he was in awe.
He brown eyes never leaving you, “You look so fucking pretty baby,” he smiled. “So beautiful.” “Thanks Eds,” you said, cheeks becoming rosy. Feeling shy under his gaze, you tried to hide from it.
“Let me look at you, please,” he said, almost begging, “Please just let me look at my beautiful girl.” He kissed your mouth gently.
You couldn’t help giggling at him, your stomach fluttering.
“Eds.” He hummed, kissing your nose, then your cheeks, then your forehead. “So fucking beautiful baby.”
“It’s just a haircut.”
“And? Who said it was the haircut, I’m talking about you. Not just your face or your body, but your soul, your heart. So beautiful. So perfect.”
“You’re gonna make me cry, stop it.” He laughed, kissing the top of your head, and pulling you into his arms. Wrapping your own around his waist, resting your head on his bare chest, you listened to his heartbeat.
“I love you Eddie.”
“I love you too Sweetheart.”
“Want help washing the van?” you asked, looking up and meeting his chocolate eyes.
“Sure babe, I’ll go grab another sponge for you.”
Heading inside the trailer, you wandered over to the van, waiting for him to return. You tied up as much hair as you could, but most of it fell back down again. Leaving it in a half up half down bun thing, you didn’t really know.
“Here you go Sweetheart.” Eddie appeared again, handing you the sponge and kissing your mouth once more. “Looks cute like that,” he nodded to your hair. “Not sure what to do with it now, forgot about it when I woke up and freaked slightly.”
“It can’t be worse than my mane of hair, you’ll figure it out. Besides hair grows back,” he shrugged. You began washing the side of the van, up to where you could reach.
“Think I should cut mine?”he asked.
“No!” you almost shouted.
“No?”
“Love your curls, don’t get rid of them. They’re so pretty.”
“Fine, fine I won’t.” You smiled at him.
You didn’t notice Eddie wander around the other side of the van. Bopping your head along to the Metallica song playing in his van, you wet your sponge again.
Soon feeling your whole head get wet. Squealing you looked up, “Eddie!” you shouted as he cackled, hose in hand. “Sorry baby, I just couldn’t resist.” He continued laughing.
Running towards him you squeezed the water out of the sponge above his head. He let out his own shout. “You little shit!” he laughed, as you ran away.
“You started it!” Eddie sprayed the hose in your direction again, wetting your t-shirt and shorts, making you scream again. Running back to the water, you dipped the sponge again.
“Don’t you dare!” he warned. Giggling, you ran back in his direction, smacking the sponge into his chest. “Baby!” he became distracted, picking up the wet object. Grabbing the hose from him he paused, “Shit.”
“You’re in for it now Munson!” Turning the water pressure to the max you soaked the boy.
“Come here you little terror!” he shouted running towards you, fighting to get the hose out of your hand.
“No, you started it!” you laughed.
“And I’ll finish it!” he countered. Eddie grabbed you by the waist and lifted your feet off the ground. “Put me down!” you screamed.
“No! Never! I’ve got you now babe.”
Eddie pried the hose from your hand and turned it off. “You’re a little shit!” he cackled.
“Says you,” still wiggling in his grip. Throwing you over his shoulder he took you inside the trailer.
“Eddie!” you hit his back lightly, “Put me down!”
“As you wish,” he said, throwing you into his bed, making you bounce slightly. Crawling over you, he grinned at your smiling face.
Leaning down your lips met one anothers, pulling him closer by his soggy curls, you moaned as he kissed you deeper. He detached one of your hands from them and linked his fingers with your own, grinding down on your slightly.
“Fuck,” you moaned into his mouth. He made the same movement, deeper this time, making your legs fall apart. He lay between them, bare chest resting on your clothed one. “So fucking beautiful,” he said as he pulled away, playing with your short locks once more.
“What time is Wayne getting home?” you asked, slightly breathless. “He said 5:30 why?”
Flipping him over, you sat on his hips. “Because,” you started, leaning down and ghosting your lips over his.
Pulling back, he chased your kiss. “Because?” he whined. You pecked his lips, and jumped off. “We have a van to clean and I don’t think he’ll appreciate the mess,” you said, walking out of his room. Leaving him on the bed.
“You’re a little shit!” he shouted after you.
“It’s what you get for spraying me with the hose Munson.” He couldn’t help but laugh at that.

The bell above the diner door rang as your recent customer left, the sound playing on a loop in your head as you stared at the counter. The jerk left you a single quarter for a tip. All that after you waited on him hand and foot and treated him kindly as he demanded refills and a new burger. After he ate almost the entire thing.
You weren't going to cry at work.
You refused.
But tears welled up as you pocketed the measly coin, unable to stop them. Tips had been lousy all day and your shift was almost over. Between that and getting another job rejection when you checked your phone on your break, you wanted to curl up in bed and have a good cry.
"Could I get a refill, please?"
You blinked rapidly when you heard the deep voice from your new favorite customer, Andy, at the other end of the counter. You mentally chastised yourself for staring off and grabbed the coffee pot as he held up his mug. You hadn't spoken to him much, but he introduced himself when he stopped in a few weeks before.
He was the brightest spot in your mundane day.
The man also tipped you generously each time.
"Sorry about that," you smiled, topping him off.
You didn't look at his face until after you finished pouring out of fear of spilling the hot liquid.
Andy was not only polite, but devastatingly handsome. You only saw him smile, which was a perfect smile, when you looked his way. His dark hair and beard were neatly trimmed and today he wore a gray blue sweater that matched his eyes. Last week, it was a sharp, expensive suit. You had a feeling he had a well-defined body under his clothes.
Not that you thought about it.
Or the fact that he wasn't wearing a wedding ring.
He couldn't be single though, could he?
"It's okay, honey. Rough night?"
A few of the regulars called you all sorts of names, but you liked hearing them from him. "That obvious?"
"After dealing with that asshole, anyone would be in a bad mood," he said, blowing gently on his coffee before taking a sip. Your eyes unconsciously followed as he licked his lips. "Pardon my language."
"I don't mind," you smiled, grabbing a towel to wipe down the counter. He didn't need to catch you staring.
"Want me to take care of him?"
You saw him stare at you out of the corner of your eye. Hearing that almost made you tear up again. If you had your way, you would've dumped a drink on the jerk's head, flipped him off, and thrown your apron in the air as you walked out the door. If only it were that easy.
For a second there, you really thought he wanted to hurt the guy.
"No, it's okay," you said, watching his shoulders slump. Was he relaxing or disappointed? "He's a jerk, but customers like you make for it."
"I appreciate that, but you shouldn't have to put up with people like him," he said.
"I kind of have to until I find another job," you said before you could stop yourself.
The soft touch of his hand over yours stopped you when you finished cleaning the counter.
"Not having any luck?" he asked.
"No," you answered, afraid your voice would break if you said anything further.
You felt far from lucky.
You had a nice job before they had to make cutbacks. Between student loans and other bills, your savings depleted in a matter of months. The apartment you lived in was tiny, but it was yours and you did the best you could to make it homey. Lately, you could barely afford your rent working at the diner.
You had to stick with it until your luck changed.
"You want to quit your job?" he asked.
"I do," you replied. More than anything.
"And you don't have a boyfriend."
You tried to step back, but he still has his hand over yours. He phrased it like a statement instead of a question. How did he know you were single? Or was he guessing?
"No, I don't."
Something in your gut told you not to lie to him.
Andy nodded, releasing your hand as he stood up from his stool and took his wallet out of his back pocket. You almost forgot how tall he was until he rose to his full height, well over six feet. "I mean it, honey. You shouldn't have to put up with working here."
"We do what we have to," you said, wondering why he was so invested in what you had to do for a living. "And unless you have a job offer for me, I can't exactly quit right now," you added with a quick giggle.
Andy didn't laugh.
"Wait. Are you offering me a job?" you asked in disbelief.
He hummed as he set a card and bill on the counter. "I just might have something."
You raised an eyebrow and waited for him to say he was kidding. "You do?"
Andy was a nice customer, but virtually a stranger. Why would he want to help you? What did he even do?
He hummed again and put his wallet away. "I do. Keep the change and give me a call so we can discuss the details," he said.
You almost burst into tears when you realized he gave you a $100 bill.
"Andy, I can't accept that," you argued, as much as you needed it.
"Sure you can. Consider it compensation for that earlier asshole."
"Thank you," you whispered. You weren't sure how much money that was to him, but it made a world of difference to you.
"Don't mention it," he said, placing his hand over yours again before he turned to leave.
You already missed his touch.
"Hold on. You haven't even told me what the job is," you called after him as he headed to the door.
He stopped and looked over his shoulder, a small smile on his gorgeous face. "Get some rest and call me. Have a good night, honey."
The bell rang as he left, giving you a chance to look at the card he gave you.
"Andy Barber," you whispered, taking in the simple, professional design with the blue font.
You'd call him in the morning.
Because whatever the job was, it couldn't be any worse than where you were now.

Need You Now
Tumblr media
Hello, my lovelies!
So listen….this is completely self indulgent and is all Mr Evan’s fault. He just had to go and win Sexiest Man Alive and have a sexy fucking photoshoot. And those pictures just had to make me feral.
This is definitely not the best thing I’ve ever written. Threw it together in about an hour. Again having nobody to blame but Christopher.
I mean how could I not after I saw the above picture? I couldn’t not write something.
Well anyways, I hope you enjoy it!
*DISCLAIMER, if you’re under 18, just go away. This isn’t for you! Kindly fuck off. Thanks!

“Why did you agree to this again?”
You rolled your eyes at your husband as you continued doing your makeup in the mirror. “Because Andy, it’s the last good weekend before the colder weather sets in and because we were invited and I want to go.”
Your grumpy husband lets out a sigh. “I would’ve much rather done our own thing than go to this cookout.”
You put the finishing touches on your makeup and turn around to look at him. “Why? It’ll be fun! They’re our friends, Andrew. We don’t see them very much.”
Now it’s his turn to roll his eyes. “But I don’t even like half of these people.”
“Oh, come on. It won’t be that bad. I promise. If we get there and you are bored to tears and hating life, then we’ll go. Scouts honor!”
He walks until he’s standing in front of you and puts his hands on your hips. “Okay, fine. I’ll go but only because you want to. But when we get back…” He starts trailing light, barely there kisses along the side of your neck until he reaches your ear..”You better plan to be up all night, filled with me.”
Before the shivers finish trailing up your spine, Andy steps away with a chuckle to go get dressed. Well shit. Now you aren’t sure you want to go yourself. You shake your head. No. You had promised your friends you’d show up. Plus you were already ready. And you thought you looked pretty cute in your yellow sundress.
You turn back around to face the mirror to double check your hair when your husband emerges from the closet. You do a double take as he sits on the bed to slip on his boots.
Jesus Christ you have forgotten how to breathe.
Your usually suited up, straight laced A.D.A., is sitting there looking like sex on legs.
He’s in a pair of black slacks and a dark green shirt. But that’s not what has you open-mouthed and drooling. It’s the way he only buttoned up the shirt about halfway and you have a clear view of the chain he always wears and the tattoos that litter his chest. Including your name he has tattooed over his left pec.
Christ on a cracker. You can already tell your panties have soaked through. This piece of shit is doing this on purpose. He knows the effect he has on you.
“Sweetheart?”
You shake your head as you close your mouth, stunned to see him standing in front of you. He reaches up and wipes some drool from the side of your mouth. “You, uh, got some drool there.”
You open your mouth to retort but realize your brain has short circuited from the beauty of the man in front of you.
Sure, you’re married and have been together for a long time. Doesn’t mean you aren’t still widely attracted to the man.
He gives your ass a smack. “We better get going. Don’t want to be late.”
😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨
After changing into a fresh pair of panties, you and Andy head on over to your neighbor's house across the street.
You both head ou tback where the party is in full blast. “Well look what the fucking cat dragged in! The Barbers!”
Your eyes instantly spot the man yelling. “Hi, Mike!”
You let go of Andy’s hand and let Mike pull you into a quick hug. You’re soon pulled out of it by his wife Kate and pulled into her arms. “Oh my god! I can’t believe you actually showed up!” She pulls away and looks you up and down. “Cute dress! Come on, let’s go get you a drink!”
You turn your head about to see if Andy wants anything, but see a beer has already been put into his hand and is standing in a circle of the other husband’s chatting. Looks like he’s even enjoying himself. You knew he would.
Kate drops your hand after you make it over to the drink table. “So, what’s your poison?”
You eye the table and decide to play it safe and stick with an old fashioned wine cooler. Kate just rolls her eyes at you. “That’s it?”
You twist the cap off and take a quick sip. Just as good as you remember them. “I don’t want to get too crazy. Plus, it’s been forever since I’ve had one of these.”
Kate looks up after she gets done pouring an adequate amount of rum into her coke. “Well, they are delicious. So, how’ve you been? How’s, uh, everything?”
You take another swig before answering. Of course she’s wondering if you’d had any luck conceiving. You shrug your shoulders. “Nothing yet, but we’ve only been trying for a few months. Plus my doctor said it may take awhile since I had been on birth control since I was 15. Might take a little bit for all those hormones to leave my system.”
She nods. “Yeah, it took about a year for me to get pregnant. Don’t worry, I’m sure it’ll happen!”
You shake your head. “I’m not worried. It’ll happen if it’s meant to. And if not, then we’ll adopt. I’m not going to stress over it. The doctor said stressing about it can make it not happen so I’m going to stay positive.”
Kate smiles at you. “That’s a great mindset! Regardless of how it happens, you’ll make an amazing momma!”
“Thank you! I hope so! I’m sure I’ll be asking you for lots of tips.”
She takes a sip of her drink as she looks over at her kids playing around the yard with the other neighborhood kids. “Oh, I’ve got plenty!”
The 2 of you are soon joined by a couple other women you hadn’t seen in awhile either. You guys chat and gossip about everything that’s been going on lately. As the conversation turns to something you’re less than interested in, you can’t help but let your eyes wander over to Andy.
The men have migrated to a group of lawn chairs and are laughing about something. Andy’s eyes catch yours and he gives you a smile. God you loved him. You return it before getting pulled back into the conversation when one of the ladies asks how your job is going.
😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨
About 2 hours later it starts getting dark out. All the women had rejoined their significant others at the lawn chairs.
You were currently laying against Andy’s chest, him leaned back with his arms wrapped around you. The fire had been going for a while now and you were all nice and toasty.
A few of the couples had gathered their kids and bid their goodbyes. That left only Kate’s and Mike’s kids and a few couples left sat around the fire.
You’re just enjoying listening to the conversations going on around you, letting the vibrations of Andy’s chest as he talks to Mike lull you to sleep.
You just get your eyes shut when your phone starts going off.
You quickly grab it and silence it. Kate asks if everything is okay. You wave a hand in her direction. “Yeah, just my mom texting me.”
But that’s a lie.
That wasn’t your text tone that went off. You knew that sound well. And judging from the way Andy is now practically squirming underneath you, so does he.
You have this app on your phone to help track when you’re ovulating. And anytime you’re in a peak ovulation time, an alarm goes off. The sound has lately made your husband feral. He’ll bend you over the nearest surface and stuff you full.
Speaking of.
He is currently subtly rutting his erection into your ass.
You hold back a whimper and grab onto his arm. “Andy, stop. Not here.”
He leans down to whisper into your ear, “Should’ve thought about that when you made plans to come here. You know what that fucking alarm does to me. Need to be inside you baby girl. Now.”
Oh, fuck.
You’re about to suggest going home when the rest of the couples, and kids, start to stand up and head toward the house. Mike goes over and puts the fire out.
Kate comes over to your chair. “We’re going to head inside and watch the new Halloween movie. You guys wanna come?”
You don’t even have time to open your mouth to respond before Andy does. “Nah, I think we’re going to head home. Both of us are a little tired. Aren’t we, sweetheart?”
You nod your head. “Yeah, the fire made me tired.”
She nods. “Okay, well let’s get lunch next week?”
You agree. “Sounds great! Thank you for inviting us.”
She waves as she heads inside. You go to get up but are forcefully pulled back down. “Just where do you think you’re going, baby girl?” He moves your hair to the side and starts kissing and biting at your neck, all the while moving his right hand under your dress.
“Well I thought we could head home and take care of-“ But you’re cut off when his fingers make contact with your clothed core.
“Too far. Need you here, now.”
You go to protest but he moves your panties aside and sinks a finger into you.
You smack your hand to your mouth to keep your moan in. Andy just chuckles behind you as he adds another finger and starts scissoring them around. “Need to keep quiet, baby. Don’t want the neighbors knowing what we’re doing out here.”
You clench down on his fingers. “Oh? Maybe you do, huh? Does my baby girl want to get caught?”
You can’t even respond. You start grinding against his hand. He indulges you for a few minutes before he pulls his fingers out and flips you around so that you’re straddling him. He pulls you in for a lust filled kiss before he grabs your hands and puts them at the top of his pants. “Go on. Take me out.”
You don’t need to be told twice.
Not wasting any time, you unbutton and unzip his slacks. You quickly find out he has gone commando this evening. You look up at him in surprise. He just gives you a sexy smirk. “Easier access?”
You roll your eyes and lean back in for a kiss, your right hand wrapped around his achingly hard cock, pumping it up and down.
Andy brushes your hand away and pulls your panties to the side. “Sorry sweetheart. Need to be inside you.”
Not wanting to wait any longer yourself, you grab ahold of his cock and hover over him and rub his tip along your soaked slit before sinking down on his length. You throw your head back and let out a sigh of relief. You love nothing more than to be filled by your husband.
Andy takes a minute to watch the pleasure on your face. It doesn’t last very long though before he grabs your hips and starts grinding you back and forth in his lap.
You don’t catch the moan that escapes you this time.
“Shhh. Need to be a good girl and stay quiet while your husband fills you up.”
You nod and place your hands on his shoulders as you take over the movement of your hips, picking up the pace. Andy releases his hold on your hips and smacks your ass before pulling the top of your dress down enough so your tits spring free. He pays extra attention to your nipples, knowing how much you like it.
After a few minutes, you change from grinding to bouncing up and down on his cock as best you can on a lawn chair. You can already feel yourself close to an orgasm. “Andy, please. Gonna cum. Need help. Please.”
He repositions a little so that his left leg hangs off the side of the lawn chair and plants his foot on the ground. He grabs the back of your head with his left hand and pulls you down until you’re chest to chest, pulling you into another kiss. He takes his right hand and moves it in between you so he can rub your clit.
He uses the little leverage he has with his foot and starts thrusting up into you, hitting your g spot from this position. You moan into his mouth.
“Fuck, baby girl. Squeezing me so good. Won’t last much longer after you cum. Need to fill you up.”
You’re both now just panting into each other’s mouths. “Please Andy.N-need it. Need your cum.”
“Yeah? Need me to fill you up, huh? Yeah you do. Gonna fuck a baby into you sweetheart.”
And that’s what does you in. You cum with a silent cry, your hands digging into his shoulders.
He only lasts a few more thrusts before he gives into his own pleasure. You can feel his warm spend filling you up as he slows his thrusts down, eventually coming to a stop. You both take a minute to catch your breath before you make eye contact and burst out laughing.
“Can’t believe we just fucked on a lawn chair in our neighbors backyard.”
He pulls you in for a sweet kiss. “I fucking love you, Mrs. Barber.”
You smile. “I love you, Mr Barber.”
He cups your face and brushes his thumb against your bottom lip, smiling when you press a kiss to it. “Think we better get home, sweet girl. Before I take you on this chair again.” As he says this, you can feel him start to harden inside of you.
Startled at how quick he’s ready to go again, you quickly get up and let out a hiss as he slips out of you.
You right your clothes as best you can before grabbing your phone and helping him up.
He tucks his cock back into his slacks as best he can with a hard on and zips and buttons them up. He grabs your hand and starts practically pulling you towards your guy's house.
“Hurry up baby. That pussy isn’t going to fill itself up.”
You were in for a long night.

alright, so, i'm writing something and wanted to share my black sisters hcs because i like them so much (and also because i need to so i won't forget it)
first of all, bellatrix is a very good sister. she's a bit unhinged, sure, maybe can get a little violent, yes, but it's alright so long as you don't mess with cissa and andy (or regulus and sirius by extent, but she prenteds she doesn't like them)
they have a thing with nicknames. for everyone, they are bella, cissa, and andy. but for each other, they are trix/trixie, cissy/ciss, and an/mendy. the only other people who get to call them that are their loved ones (sirius, reggie, ted, alice and rita)
narcissa likes jewelry, she has rings, earrings, and necklaces to match with every single one of her clothes, and she can even make her own, she likes to chose gemstones and knows most of them by name (her favorite are emeralds and rubies)
bellatrix is a ballerina, she has so much strength in her body, like, she doesn't look like it, she looks scrawny at first, but she's very strong and flexible, ballet is a thing requires a lot of focus and determination, and for everything that she's chaotic, she has her moments of peace with dancing
andromeda tonks is bisexual. fight me on this one.
i feel like andromeda would also be a lot into fashion, like, just generally, she likes clothes and loves to push gender norms with her clothes, she rocks in dresses, and she rocks in suits, and sometimes she mixes both and guess what? she rocks!!!! (no, but seriously, andromeda tonks in a suit. please.)
the three of them like to gossip, like, a lot. they paint each others nails, bellatrix learned at a young age to do her sisters' hairs, so she does them whenever she gets the chance, and they talk about every bit of gossip they hear
narcissa painted her hair black once because she felt left out from her sisters. next thing she nows, once the paint fades, bella and andy have dyed their hair blond. now they all match
once they all have their lives apart, they still like to hang out when they can. cissa brings draco to his favorite aunts (although he likes pandora a lot too), sometimes bella brings rita when she's not working, and ted likes to pick andromeda up from their meet-ups so he can at least say hello to his in-laws
when they were young, their parents used to fight a lot, and it used to get really loud, so the three of them would get together in bella's room, and she would sing them a song until things got quieter. she's a surprisingly good singer (although narcissa is better)
when andromeda marries ted, bella and cissa walk her down the aisle, one on each side

Hi Kris<3
AHHHH THIS ARI STANDING BY THE WINDOW REMINDS ME OF Pretty Distraction :3 Here's a little something I'm working on:
Warning: Adoptive brother!Ari x Sister!Reader (incest but not blood related), both are of age, Aftercare (sort of).
Tumblr media
He showered and made himself a cup of coffee in the morning.
Black. No sugar. No milk. No nutmeg or pumpkin spice or whipped cream or hazelnut or the hundreds if not thousands of spices and all size and forms of lactose that you like to add to the mix.
No.
Just black.
He did all that and half surprised that you were still asleep on his bed.
He tried to make as little noise as possible. He practically sneaked out of his bed and closed the bathroom door before turning on the shower. And probably spent way too much time staring at the white tiles in front of him with the warm water pouring down from the showerhead from above than actually rinsing his body from traces of sex last night.
Sweat. Tears. Mixed bodily fluids. A hair pulled off or two.
Scratch marks. Bite marks. Bruise. The one bruise where you struggled too hard and kicked him on his shin.
He used twice the bodywash. Now he smells like peppermint and pine and cologne and whatever-the-heck successful businessman smells like. Dresses like decent suits and bleached white shirts and tailored hems and ... man. Much less the animal he was last night.
You mumble something in your sleep. Kick the sheet. Roll to the other side where he had slept in. The sheet over your body entangles with your legs, revealing the smooth skin, the arms, the breasts, and your back. And everything that turned him on and is still turning him on in the early morning after the wild fuck last night.
Scratch marks. Bite marks. Bruises.
He sighs. Places down his cup of bitter coffee on the nightstand. He frees the sheet from your legs and drapes it over your body. Your naked body. Move your calf from the original position where it could almost touch the floor - to the bed. Straightening the pillow. Tucking you in.
Not something he is familiar with. He was a teenager when he was adopted by your father. When you and your real brothers were more often raised by your mother.
And almost irresisitably, he caresses his knuckles over your cheek. Brushes over your neck. Where he might have bitten too many times last night.
He wishes everything could stay like this. With you in his room. Sound asleep. When he could do almost anything to you and you wouldn't say no, even if you wake up. When he doesn't have to go to work later this morning. When he could keep you. When he knows the secret of this relationship is strictly confidential apart from the two of you in this very room. In his room.
When your brother Andy doesn't know.

“Why can’t you give me a chance? Give us a chance?” Ari’s brows are furrowed, arms crossed as he stares down at you. His mind keeps racing, thinking about why you wouldn’t let him in. Why couldn’t he be with you and his kid? “What are you so worried about, Y/n? Have I done something that says I’d treat you otherwise?” He’s generally confused, Ari is desperately in love with you, but whatever he does, you won’t let him in.
“Because Ari!” You groan, rubbing your face as the frustration gets to you. “Because I don’t want to be stuck here while you choose work over us! I don’t want to have to tell our child that daddy is too busy working to spend time with them!” Tears begin to brim in your eyes as you stare up at him, your voice lower than before. “I don’t want to get a call saying you’ve been killed on the job. I don’t want to tell our child that not only did you choose work over them, but work took your life as well.” Your lip begins to tremble as you try and blink away the tears, images of Ari’s dead body lying there flashing through your mind.
Ari gulps, his eyes brimming with tears as he watches you suffer. He takes a step forward and pulls you into him, hugging you close, his hand rubbing up and down your back. “If quitting my job means I get to have you and our kid, being a family. Then I’ll do it. I’ll quit. Find something safe close to home.” He pulls back and looks down at you. “I’ve always wanted to work as a lumberjack, and I think I’d suit the whole flannel and axe thing.”
“You don’t have to do that, Ari. I know how much you love your job.” You try to pull free from his hold, but he refuses to let you go. Because if he lets you go, he fears he’ll lose you for good.
“Yeah, but I love you two more.” Blue meets E/C, pain and love in both eyes.
“Mumma? Dada? What doing?” You both look down and smile as your child wanders into the room, their dummy hanging from their mouth, a teddy hugged against them as their body is covered in a cookie monster onesie. “Party without me?”
You and Ari kneel, smiling as they wander into your arms. “Dada has some news, baby.” Their head turns to look at Ari, a giant grin forming on his face as he stares into his child’s large innocent eyes.
“We’re going to be a family now, munchkin. Dada is leaving his job.” A high-pitched squeal escapes the tiny child before they launch themselves at Ari, burying their face into his chest.
“Dada home! Family, yay!” As the words leave their lips, yours and Ari’s eyes connect. He mouths a thank you before burying his face into your baby’s hair, crying softly.

The drive to Marrakech had been long and dusty, and by the time they reached the hotel, Joe could feel grit between his teeth and toes. He let Nicky exchange pleasantries with the front-desk clerk; he was so close to showering, and to sleeping somewhere other than the passenger seat while Nicky took his turn at the wheel, that he had no words left to offer anyone. He did some clumsy mental calculations and decided he was exactly two minutes from crawling out of his own skin when, a second later, Nicky turned toward him with two keycards in his hand, and Joe felt his shoulders drop a fraction with relief.
The suite was stunning, bursting with color and natural light. Joe barely paid attention, dropping his bags inside the door and tugging his shirt over his head as he headed directly toward the bathroom. He flipped on the shower and toed out of his boots, left the rest of his clothes in an awkward heap, and stepped beneath the spray to let out a groan of pleasure that rose up from the very soles of his feet. The water was warm, and pounded against his shoulders, and Joe lowered his chin to watch dirt and sand wash down his body and swirl into the drain. “Alhamdulillah,” he murmured gratefully.
There were bottles upon bottles of luxurious products, as well as a thick bar of sweet-smelling soap tucked into a recess in one tiled wall, and Joe used everything, multiple times, just for the sensory pleasure of his own slick hands skimming over wet skin. He altered the angle of the spray before working conditioner into his hair and then stood, body slack and heavy, patiently waiting as water sluiced down his chest. When finally he could rinse one last time and tear himself away from the pleasure of being clean, it was to pull a towel from a hook on the wall and groan again at the thickness of the weave, burying his face in it before squeezing water from his hair. He dried himself clumsily, blinked at his reflection in the mirror, then wandered into the bedroom, climbing directly into bed.
“My love,” said Nicky, turning away from the windows where he’d been enjoying the view, or scouting for sniper points, it was hard to say.
“No talking,” Joe mumbled, collapsing on the delightful mattress.
“Your hair,” Nicky offered simply.  “You will regret . . .”
“I will regret nothing,” said Joe around a yawn so large that his eyes scrunched closed. When he opened them, it was to find Nicky leaning down toward him, and Joe clutched the sheets to his chest with one hand, and held up the other to stop Nicky from coming closer.  “Do not think of kissing me right now, you filthy Frank.”
Nicky chuckled warmly and straightened. “I’ll go wash.”
“Do,” said, Joe, turning onto his side and rubbing his cheek against the pillow.
The low hum of the shower was soothing, and Joe was tired, and a ray of sunlight had pooled on the bed directly over his feet. He drifted, mind blank, not quite willing to sleep for all that he had no interest in being awake. Instead he catalogued the luxury around him—the softness of the sheets; the perfect loft of his pillow; the movement of air across his skin from the fan that circulated air in the room. He thought idly of Andy and Booker, of being reunited in the morning, and a bubble of joy rose up through his chest and made him smile.
“Is this better,” whispered Nicky some time later, the bed creaking under his weight as he slipped under the sheets behind Joe.  He smelled faintly of citrus, and eased in close, wrapping arm around Joe’s torso, spreading his fingers over the rise of Joe’s belly. When Joe breathed, he could feel the reassuring pressure of Nicky’s hand.
“You smell better,” he said fondly, and Nicky hummed in agreement.
“So do you.”
Joe laughed softly, so full of affection that his heart squeezed with the force of it. “We’ll sleep a little,” he offered. “Then we’ll eat.”
“A good plan,” Nicky replied, his voice muffled from having his face pressed against Joe’s shoulder. It was quiet, and it was cool, and they were safe, and would soon be with others they loved. Joe let out a long, slow breath, and sleep took him gently, gathering he and Nicky both in tandem, coaxing them to fall.

Tonight however, the peace is interrupted by a charming handsome man who has no business to be there… will you throw him out?

Every single step you took felt so light it was almost as if you were floating.
The endless beauty adorning the walls, the soft intimate lights reserved for occasional night visiting hours only accentuating the already romantic atmosphere of the art museum, walking through the halls and galleries equalled a magnificent experience that made your soul shiver and yet feel at peace. You let the serenity wash over you as you roamed the art museum, already having helped usher the lingering visitors outside. The sound of your heels echoed in the vast galleries, your eyes drawn from one beautiful piece of art to another, even as you had seen them all a hundred times.
There were simply sights in this world that would never get old, you mused, a small smile playing on your lips, a slow steady pace bringing you to another section – and having you freeze in your step.
Just standing there without a care for the outside world, apparently immersed in admiring a painting – one of favourite, you realized distantly – stood a man. A man who most definitely did not worked here.  Your heart skipped a beat.
“Excuse me, sir,” you called out lowly, anything louder than a that feeling wrong in the otherwise quiet gallery. “It’s after hours. You can’t be here.”
He startled too at the first sound of your voice – his head snapped to you, piercing but kind blue eyes wide with surprise, as if you brought him down from a haze, from a deep thought; from thorough appreciation of art. You would have smiled at that, since you knew the feeling too well, but you were too distracted by the man’s handsome face.
Awfully, unbearably handsome, with a ruffle of dark hair and a clearly well-kept beard, a dark blue suit that only highlighting his beautiful eyes, hands slipping from his pockets as he straightened upon facing you; his biceps bulged a bit with that movement, visible even under the suit jacket. There was a good-natured expression on his face, a pleasant note in his voice as he responded on the same volume, if not slightly quieter.
“Oh. Sorry.”
His voice was as lovely to hear as his face was to look at; almost like he had belonged here, the central piece among the sea of art, a sculpture capturing the peak of a man crafted by talented hands of the old masters.
As you walked closer to him, your chest ached a little; he wasn’t just handsome. He was drop-dead gorgeous. And while that didn’t authorise him to be here, it sure made your approach more amicable. You were only human, after all.
“I was actually heading out,” he continued, “but I just… got a little caught up in admiring the art.”
The corners of your lips rose involuntarily. You could see that easily happening to anyone – it was after all a painting close to your own heart and soul. Some might call it too simple – an image of hands, one larger, rougher than the other, held out palm up to the other, softer, smaller one, fingertips barely brushing, the mahogany brown background with a few lighter strokes of brush adding an aura of warmth. But its simplicity and what some would call imperfections were deceiving.
Many would argue that hundreds of art students all over the world drew a hand study every day. Masterfully executed or not, this particular piece of art could indeed be called plain; but it wasn’t. As things stood, the painting was no Creation of Adam, your all-time favourite, but it had earned a rightful place in the art gallery and n your heart, and it wasn’t only because of how old the painting was or who had created it.
If you were being honest, you were never able to quite put your finger on why, but it always tended to touch something deep inside you. So truly, you understood the man perfectly.
He had no business being here so late – and yet. Perhaps for his pretty face and his breathtaking physique indeed, perhaps for his warm gaze having returned to the painting with curious, soft eyes – you couldn’t just have him dragged away, keen on hearing his insight instead.
“How so?” you inquired.
His gaze snapped back to you, surprised. He examined you for a bit, as if he couldn’t figure out whether you were asking or just bidding your time before security found you, but in the end, he just smiled, slightly embarrassed.
“Oh, I couldn’t say. I don’t know the first thing about art, so I can’t even appreciate it properly-“
“Of course you can,” you interrupted him, regretting your hastiness when his eyes widened, watching you intently. You smiled apologetically, gaze dropping before it returned to the painting, the sight of the beautiful man too much – and you were used to looking at art every day. “What I mean is… sure, the knowledge of history of art and art technique can help you recognize a painting’s value to the world, but not its value to yourself.”
You cringed internally; you sounded like a fool, a pretentious one at that, contradicting your own words. And yet, his voice was soft when he spoke again without a hint of offense.
“I’ll take your word for it… but still. Might help to have a guide… what do you like about this painting?” he asked, gaze returning to the art in question. “That is, if you like it at all.”
“I like it a lot, actually. It’s one of my favourites.”
“How so?” he echoed your earlier words, something about the way his gaze flickered to you making you feel warm all over. He sounded genuinely curious. About what you thought. He seemed interested in your very personal insight; and in the intimate lightening of the gallery, you reluctantly gave in, all too aware of how close you seemed to stand now, side by side, barely two feet apart.
“I like how it makes me feel. I like wondering what made the artist capture this particular moment in time – not sooner, not later. Not when the hands touch further or part completely. And what the moment even is. All that wondering just leaves a lasting impression.”
“Yeah… I suppose that’s what I could say as well,” he mused, tilting his head slightly to side as he considered your words. “Tell me more.”
It wasn’t an order – despite the wording, it sounded more like a plea. Something pleasing hummed in your chest, a gentle stroke to your ego.
“It’s the position of the hands. Hands can be so expressive, we can say so much with them, with a touch. And I don’t mean it in the sense of sign language, where people literally use them to form words agreed upon earlier, but… they can convey feelings, capture so much more than words themselves often can,” you tried to explain, feeling heat rise to your cheeks. You sounded like a crazy person who read Jane Austen too much – and you were all too aware. You often couldn’t help it, when you talked about art – but the poor man didn’t sign up for this. You chuckled bashfully. “I’m sorry, I’m rambling.”
“Not at all,” he opposed, causing you to risk a side-way glance. His gaze lost nothing of its warmth, quite the opposite; his lips melted in a gentle smile and he was certainly paying more attention to you than the painting. You’d lie if you said it wasn’t flattering. And the electricity you seemed to feel in the air sure wasn’t unpleasant either. “I never thought of it this way, but I certainly cannot argue with that. And I argue for living.”
“Ah. A lawyer then?” you said, his hands rising in surrender in response.
He had really nice and big hands. Someone should paint them. And he should put them on me.
“Guilty as charged.”
“And with a sense of humour, I see.”
There was something a little shy and definitely intimate about his laugh, his gaze firmly on yours. “I have been told I only have old man jokes these days.”
“Well, that’s just rude. You should have that person arrested for such insult.”
“That’s not how this works.” He was laughing again, crinkles around his eyes. He had such a gentle laugh, quiet, fitting for the space. “Now… what do you think is happening here then?” he beckoned to the painting.
You pursed your lips, accepting his prompt.
“Well, that’s one of the things I love about it so much – it can be whatever you want it to be. A man and a woman… there’s this atmosphere of longing. Tenderness to the touch. Uncertainty, as if they aren’t sure if they are allowed. The man especially. Maybe they are future lovers…” You felt your cheeks heat, blush spreading as the man’s eyes flickered to yours. “Maybe not. Maybe it’s a goodbye.”
“How do you figure?”
“The blurry lines,” you whispered, your smile turning dreamy. You truly did love this piece – it conveyed so much emotion, offered so many interpretations. Made you feel so much. “They’re not accidental – the moment is hazy. Maybe it’s a memory, a painful one, a memory of a goodbye smeared by unshed tears. Maybe it’s a dream – dreaming about what can’t be, no matter what the heart desires.”
“Wishful thinking,” he murmured under his breath.
“Yeah.”
“Maybe he’s an artist asking his muse to be let into her favour.”
Your head snapped to him in surprise; but for once, he kept looking at the painting. Still, your breath caught; that definitely was a lovely interpretation.
“Maybe.”
“What else?”
Your gaze returned to the painting, even as your gaze was drawn to him instead, distracted, your thoughts consumed by the image of his handsome profile and the well-fitting suit – and those damn hands. He stood even closer now, slightly behind you; you could almost feel his warm breath on your cheek, the woodsy tones of his cologne wrapping around you like a blanket. You could get in trouble, lingering here, with him – but deep down, you felt you’d happily do so. And probably thank him for it.
He spoke again before he gathered your wits, a warm smile in his voice. “Could be a lonely artist who set his eyes on the most beautiful of women…”
You felt the back of his hand brush yours. No accident; a lover’s caress. You felt tingles spread thought your whole body from the point of contact, your heart thundering in your chest even as it shouldn’t have.
He shouldn’t have such an effect on you. Not after two years of much more intimate touches, teasing brushes of his fingertips, his palms roaming your body firmly, his lips appreciating every inch of your skin. A simple touch of a hand shouldn’t have made you shiver, but it did. With Andy, it always did. Especially when he talked like that, your face growing warmer by the second at his praise. Because it was clear he was no longer talking about the painting on the wall. Not when he ran his fingers over the back of your hand before turning it so your own hand slipped into his easily, and squeezed.
“…and was somehow insanely lucky that she accepted when he asked her out two years ago. And ever since then, his life’s been full of happiness he thought was no longer in cards for him. How’s that for knowledge of history?” he asked cheekily now, full grin spreading on his lips as he pulled lightly on your hand to spin you around to face him, his free hand already cupping your cheek as you giggled, letting the façade fall.
“You’re a charmer and a flatterer,” you muttered as he leaned in for a kiss, palm cradling your face and guiding you closer to his lips, soft whiskers tickling your face as your lips finally met.
His hand released yours, sneaking around your waist instead, deepening the kiss, making your toes curl in your pumps even after having received thousands kisses like this from him.
You had met pretty much like this – with you working late and him charming your wits out of you and having you lose yourself in his beautiful blues, mesmerized by his almost startlingly handsome face, even if he had been the one who had got a bit lost in the museum complex. Sparks flew, hearts fluttered, hands wandered – much sooner than they ever had in your previous relationship. But the whirlwind of passion was wrapped in an intimacy on an emotional level too – you had never fallen so fast, body, mind and soul, but Andy Barber was simply special. Bless his heart, he hadn’t really known much about art back then – but he had a quick mind and willingness to learn, eager to listen to you as you talked about your long-life love, watching you with a curious adoring gaze, a patient smile on his lips.
He told you he’d pick you up after work so you could celebrate the two-year anniversary of your first date. So as soon as you shoed away the last visitors, you hurried to the staff room to freshen up at least a bit. Andy hadn’t told you where he would take you up until two hours ago – where he called you on your short break to inform you that he was, in fact, a sneak who had an exceptional way with words.
Bribing your colleagues with god-knows-what, he had arranged for you to have the museum for yourselves up until midnight – a private tour with the softened lights saved for the evening, likely wandering hand in hand, beauty surrounding you as well as love. You had no doubt he had brought refreshments too, having left work right after lunch, probably preparing one of his excellent recipes; the premise of spending your special night like this with him had you giddy and soft for the rest of your shift. So when you saw him standing there like that, you couldn’t help but re-act your first encounter for a bit – but you didn’t expect him to lean into it so fully, letting you relive the awe of a handsome stranger being so impressed by whatever you had to say.
The nip of teeth on your lower lip brought you back to reality, heat swirling in your belly, having you press into Andy’s firm body further, not an inch left between you just as it should be, especially since your head was already beginning to spin with the lack of oxygen.
He was the one to retreat, smiling against your lips, nose caressing yours, your palms smoothening over his shoulders lovingly.
“You started it,” he opposed, pecking your lips again and then once more for a good measure, a little breathless himself. When you met his gaze, you saw nothing but adoration in his eyes. “I simply played along. …hi, by the way.”
You chuckled and returned his greeting, meeting his lips once more.
“Hi stranger. Happy anniversary.”
His smile was almost blinding as he tucked the lose strand of your hair behind your ear, fingertips stroking your cheek.
“Happy anniversary, sweetheart,” he whispered, eyes roaming your face so attentively – as if he was admiring what had been no doubt etched into his memory by now – that your felt your skin heat up again, gaze lowering timidly. “You’re beautiful. I love you.”
I love you. It was a simple admission – but that didn’t mean it still didn’t send your heart flutter, especially when he looked at you as if you were the single most precious piece of art in the whole complex.
“I love you too—what?” you questioned, when his eyes suddenly flickered behind you, back to the painting, and a frown twisted his features.
“There’s something missing,” he mused, causing your chest to spasm with panic. You spun on your heels and escaped his embrace so fast you nearly toppled over. Your eyes frantically searched for any sign of what was wrong – a missing plate with description? Had piece of the golden frame broken away? A- “I do like the painting, but it’s just… it’s missing something.”
You huffed out a breath of relief, turning back to Andy swiftly, hitting his chest with the back of your hand, earning a burst of silent laughter.
“Sorry-“
“You are not! Don’t do that, Andrew!” you whisper-yelled, your ribcage actually aching a bit from the sudden scare. “I’d be in real trouble if there was something missing, you know that! But do enlighten me, Mr. I Don’t Know The First Thing About Art. What is missing here?”
He had the decency to look a tiniest bit guilty as he gently touched your shoulders, spinning you back to the painting, wrapping his arm over your middle to pull you flush to his front.
“Don’t get me wrong. It’s beautiful. I know you love this one. But I… I think finally figured out what the scene is about,” he explained slowly, voice dropping back to a whisper, only a trace of gentle laughter in his pleasant timbre.
“Oh?” you inquired nonchalantly, still pouting a bit even as your exasperation evaporated as quickly as it had appeared. You could get fired if something got lost on your watch, so that was a mean joke – but you should have known better. You had known him for two years now after all.
“Uh-huh,” he hummed, guiding your hands to lay on your stomach, placing one of his warm palms over them, chin resting on your shoulder. “Well, obviously, they are a man and a woman.”
“Is that how you win all the cases at court? With your excellent observation skills and dead-on-point arguments, Mr. Obvious?”
Andy continued, unbothered by your snarky teasing.
“And he’s an old, maybe a little dorky man, who is crazy in love with this gorgeous woman with passion for art…”
The corners of your lips twitched as you turned your head to him, nose nudging his cheek as you understood where this was going. “You’re not that old… but you’re plenty sappy for sure.”
“Who said I was talking about us?” he teased, squeezing your hands again as he nudged you to look forward again despite your prolonged ‘riiiight’. “But he’s a little bit like the artist, asking a muse for her favour… he’d feel like the luckiest man on Earth if she’d allow him.”
You leaned your weight back onto Andy’s warm body, tilting your head, as a full smile spread on your lips along with the sweetest warmth curling in your heart.
“Well… I know you said it’s not us, but… if it were, he wouldn’t have to ask. He’s already plenty in her favour.”
You let your eyes slip shut, revelling in the feeling of being in the arms of the man you loved, almost tasting his own affection for you on your tongue, feeling it float in the air. You felt at peace; safe, warm and loved. Nothing could measure up to the serenity of the moment. Whatever Andy had planned for you two, as nice as it no doubt was, it didn’t matter much – you could just stay like this for hours, with his lips occasionally reaching to kiss your cheek, your temple.
“I adore you, Andrew Stephen Barber,” you sighed. “Sappy and all.”
His chest rumbled behind you as he hummed, his finger softly stroking your hand, pulling you somehow even closer to him. “Well perhaps he’s asking something else then.”
You felt your eyebrows rise, eyes fluttering open, smile still plastered on your face – you were probably grinning like a loon at this point.
“What’s he asking then? And what was that thing you said was missing?”
He caressed your fingers again. You felt him gulp behind you before he straightened and took your left hand, bringing it to your shoulder, to his lips, his hold on you never faltering.
“Maybe he’s asking if he could gain her favour forever.”
You chuckled breathlessly. Sap. For someone who had already been married once, even if mostly for convenience of an unplanned child, and then got divorced, he sure stayed a romantic.
“Forever is a long time,” you hummed noncommittally, not at all opposed to the idea though.
Andy was without doubt your Prince Charming in a three-piece suit, the wishful image of a happily ever after having crossed your mind more than once. With him, forever sounded sweet – and entirely plausible.
“Yeah, I know. But I want to try my luck asking anyway.”
That was the only warning you got before Andy suddenly released you from his embrace and used the gentle hold he still had on your left hand to turn you to face him, the strangest expression on his face.
Adoration. Affection. Worry. A nervous smile.
Nervous? What reason-
The realization slammed into you the very second Andy began to drop to one knee, a voiceless ‘oh my god’ knocked out of you along with your breath. A little blue box held up in his free palm, he gazed up at you as you watched him with wide eyes already filling with tears.
God, had you had any capacity to do so, you’d feel like a dumbass for not figuring out sooner what all his talk had meant. Why the missing thing. Why this was the painting he decided to stand in front of, this one among hundred others that adorned the walls of this place. Why the hand that had been right under his had been your left one, the whole time, and he hadn’t been caressing all your fingers. He had been – perhaps subconsciously – tracing a line of a ring which he hoped to put on your ring finger.
“Andy-”
“Sweetheart… I’m supposed to be great with words, but now when you’re actually facing me when I kneel here, they all… disappeared. But know that I love you. I love you with everything I am, with my whole heart. I will never understand art as well as you do, but I promise I’ll never stop trying and never stop listening, because I want to understand everything you love. I promise I will always do all I can to stay in your favour, in the favour of a woman who might as well be a muse herself,” he whispered hoarsely, his eyes turning glassy as a huge lump grew in your throat, several tears escaping you and rolling down your cheeks even as you were biting your lip – as not to cry, a not to laugh giddily.
He wanted to marry you. He wanted to spend the rest of your lives with you and he wanted to make it as tangible as possible. He made this damn moment all about you, a true promise, a true testimony that he meant what he was saying. You bit your tongue hard as not to blurt out your answer before he could even ask the question.
He choked a little as he said your full name, thumb pressing to the edge of the box for it to open and reveal a no doubt beautiful ring – but you couldn’t bring yourself to look at it, not when his lips twitched in a smile, his hand a little clammy as he still held yours. Or perhaps it only felt that way because your own were trembling, your heart threatening to beat its way out of your chest?
“Will you marry me?” he asked at last, finishing the question with a wide grin as you started to nod halfway through, the yes escaping a little too loud in the enormous room, the echo drowned in Andy’s relieved laugh, his hands – indeed shaking – slipping the ring on your ring finger meticulously before rising to his feet and framing your face with his palms and smashing his lips to yours, a grin to a grin, salty tears to salty tears.
Your fingers found purchase into his locks, holding onto him for dear life as he kissed you with vigour, nearly bending you backwards in half, one hand gripping your nape, the other moving to your lower back instead for better balance as he continued to steal your breath all for himself, an insistent press of his lips tasting like heaven and a promise of happiness.
“I love you.” A kiss to your lips. “I love you.” A kiss to your nose. “I love you so fucking much-“
You giggled against his lips, returning the affection as much as you could, your heart pounding in your chest, pressed against Andy’s ribcage – his heart was racing too, as if he had run a marathon or argued the case of his life in front of a full courtroom.
“I love you too-“
“Thank you-“
You laughed breathlessly, yelping when his hands slipped under your thighs and he lifted you to up to spin you around, a brilliant smile on his face.
“You’re a sneak, Andrew Barber,” you teased him, the world still spinning even as he set you down, taking both of your hands to place a tender kiss to your fingers.
It was the first time you actually took a proper look at the shiny ring – and your breath caught in your throat, eyes burning, nose tingling with fresh tears.
“Andy…”
It was gorgeous – and most definitely not a mindlessly picked piece of jewellery with the biggest diamond in a ten-mile radius to show off. No. Much like he had shown dedication to the proposal itself – you were getting married, holy damn, Andy just PROPOSED – he must have put plenty of thought into choosing what was to adorn your finger for hopefully a very long time; forever even. Delicate but intricate in design, a bigger centre stone with what seemed to be a thousand of tiny gemstones surrounding it as a halo in an unpredictable but beautiful pattern. He must have spent a fortune on it – it was a piece of art itself. Probably one of a kind.
Just like the gem of a man who now stood in front of you with a mix of pride and bashfulness in his expression as you admired your new accessory – a new promise.
You met his gaze, eyes probably shining brighter than the ring.
“It’s gorgeous,” you sighed, unable to resist and leaning in for another kiss, hoping to pour all your gratitude and delight into his lips. “I see what you did here, Andy. Thank you… and I really really adore you, you have no idea. I’m the lucky one.”
He shook his head with a grin, nudging your nose with his, hugging you close. “Let’s agree to disagree, sweetheart…”
A smirk pulled at the corner of your lips. “Mr. Barber… are you already disagreeing with your future wife?”
Judging by certain sensation against your belly, you weren’t the only one who felt a shot of euphoria through your veins when you said it; Andy’s pupils dilated, gaze flickering to your lips, this time with less than sweet intent, hand wandering from your lower back to the globes of your ass instead.
You giggled and let him pull you to him until you realized the direction you were facing – not. Because like this, Andy’s hand appreciating your ass was perfectly visible to the camera.
“Andy, wait-“
“I wouldn’t dare to disagree… guess we can both thank to our lucky stars then…” he muttered, completely ignoring your protest, lips nearing yours, suddenly painfully slow, butterflies fluttering in your stomach despite the rational voice in he back of your head that your really shouldn’t give in. But how when his palm sprawled further, long fingers reaching to your quickly heating centre.
“An-“
He swallowed your noise of protest and plea at once, your knees buckling an inch when he stroked over your covered slit.
“Celebrate with me?” he whispered against your lips, his hips rutting against yours making you whimper.
“Andy, the cameras-“
“-are off, I bribed the guard, I swear-“ he cut you off as his other hand slipped under your pencil skirt,  already tracing the line of your panties on your thigh.
“Andy-“ you whined as his lips retreated only to pepper soft slow kisses down the column of your throat, your head tilting back on its own volition as your body craved his touch, your core now throbbing. He’d better not be joking about the cameras, otherwise you really would-
“Come on, love, you gonna let me pin you to the wall like the masterpiece you are deserves?” he whispered and it was a terrible, terrible line, but he nipped at your pulse point and your feet obliged as he back you into the wall, fingers pushing the soaked fabric of your underwear to side, finding your hot and wet and waiting for him. A groan escaped his lips, his hard cock rutting into you as his fingertips teased your slit. “Gonna let me paint you all pretty with my cum, like a good little wife?”
“Jesus, Andy-“
“Gonna say yes to me one more time today, won’t you?” he demanded huskily, a knowing teasing lull to his voice as he kissed you again, letting you taste his sinful smile. He knew you would. You could never tell him no, not when you knew what awaited you was pure bliss, a loving but no less filthy ecstasy.
It was wrong. It was beautiful. It was insane and you’d happily take the leap. You were getting married. What other answer was there, especially with such a reward in your reach?
“Yes,” you sighed, head hitting the wall lightly, the hard warm planes of Andy’s body indeed pinning you in place, right between two damn exquisite painting. “Yes, I will.”
And then, because that beautiful bastard seducing you in the least appropriate place deserved a retaliation, you breathed out the last coherent words you could form before Andy made you forget how to do so:
“I will always say yes to my husband.”

Dunes and Waters
PART 1 • NEXT PART
PART 2:
Here is the thing about living alone: the routines. Little patterns of behaviour, daily rituals. Like turning on the kettle for tea before going to brush your teeth. A cigarette smoked out the kitchen window while waiting for it to cool down. Cryptic crosswords in the morning paper.
Remus has been living by himself for six years, ever since his mum died and his dad decided he couldn’t live with the reminder, going off to travel the Scottish Highlands and never returning. And he likes it, Remus does; never mind if he’s in his tiny studio in London, his old university accommodation, or in this lovely hotel in Egypt. Being alone suits him.
This morning, his crossword is half (and incorrectly) completed. The water from the kettle emptied and not replaced. His cigarettes – of which he still had three, he’s certain – all gone.
Worst of all? Sirius Black, hair up in a knot held up with his wand, sprawled out onto Remus’ favourite windowsill smoking what must be his last cigarette.
He looks like a cover of an album. Framed by the morning sun. Velvet Underground would pay a fortune for a picture of him right now, dressed in a loose billowy shirt he’s procured from Merlin knows where, and nothing else but boxers. Andy Warhol would paint him like he painted Marilyn – obsessively, repeatedly. Immortalise how he flicks the cigarette, a bit of ash falling onto the windowsill. Runs a restless thumb down the line of his bottom lip. Hums to himself softly and Remus thinks I was right because even subdued like this, it truly is a voice to behold.
“I didn’t know how you take your tea,” Black says in leu of greeting.
“With hot water, to start with.” The meaning (refill the damned kettle!) seems lost on him, as he goes back to watching the world outside the window.
Must be a strange thing, to be here. Yesterday, and for the last two months, he woke up in a tiny cell made even smaller by the range of the chain holding him down. The window too high up and too small to give sunlight or a view, and even if he’d managed to get up there, he’d only have seen the sunken walls surrounding the jail.
Remus refills the kettle (again) and turns it on (again).
“Might making me one too?”
And Remus is a polite person. His mother taught him to be. So he turns off the kettle. Adds enough water for another tea, and hopes that this time is the last time.
“I like it real sweet,” Sirius drawls, stretching his vowels like a cat after a sun nap. “Lots of sugar.”
“You can add your own.”
“So inhospitable. So cruel. I’m sick, you know?”
“Sick enough to smoke all my cigarettes. Did you take your potions at least?”
A sharp tiny smile, a break in the veneer. “Knew you wouldn’t mind, Professor. You look like a right standup guy. The kind that lends others his smokes and his tea.”
“Potions?” Remus doesn’t let the man derail him. It must be an insult, with the way Black says it, but the doctor asked him to keep an eye, and he promised.
Never mind that he really doesn’t want his work delayed if Black gets worse on account of his own stupidity. It’s too important. Too time-sensitive.
“Yes, yes. I’ve taken them. Scouts honour, Professor. Or should I call you Doctor, instead, hmm? I’m sure you have one of those as well.”
“A doctorate? No. Not yet.”
“Pity. Professor it is then.”
“Just Remus. Please.”
