"are you ready?"
exhaling, you adjust your cap, praying that it will somehow keep your identity protected. after all, you wanted nothing more than to keep a low profile today.
"as ready as i'll ever be."

"be careful, schatzi," he rolls his eyes, "if you sound any more ecstatic you may burst like a little bubble."
"oh yeah," you scoff, lingering in the passenger seat. your hand hovers above the handle of the door, palms clammy as your fingers wrap around the cool surface, "i'm filled to the brim with excitement."
"hey," fingers grasp your chin, forcing you to maintain eye contact, "it is not going as terrible as you think."
"it sounds like it's going to be an absolute shit show," you cringe internally as a whine escapes from lips, "i have to sit next to your ex-wife all weekend! we both know that i am the last person she wants be seen with."
toto tuts, shaking his head, "can you at least push through? for me? for jack? he's been chattering about this all week. you have no idea how much this means to him."
"i'll try my best," shame ripples within you, cheeks burning as toto nods, shooting you a wink.
"that's my girl. now, let's get going. he starts in about an hour."
the illustrious team principal slips out of the car, shutting the driver's side door. before you know it, he's on the other side of the coupe, a breeze rolling through as he opens the passenger door, prompting you to come on out. swallowing the lump in your throat, you oblige, ensuring that your bag and sunglasses aren't forgotten.
keeping your head low, your heart skips a beat as you feel his fingers find yours, intertwining them together. he squeezes tenderly, a signal that he was there for you, no matter what.
with that anxious sensation growing in the pit of your stomach, you couldn't be more grateful for his reassurance.
since there was a brief break in your schedule, you agreed to accompany toto to a weekend of karting. well, mostly because of jack. the little one was constantly buzzing about you, often inquiring when he was going to meet you. due to the nature of both of your bustling lives, toto conferred with susie on what a good time would be.
the two ended up settling on a weekend between singapore and austin, a couple of weeks before the united states grand prix.
it was a simple outing, really. hanging out with your boyfriend on a beautiful autumn day. you would be introducing yourself to his kid, a little one who absolutely adored you. yet, there was one factor that weighed heavy on your mind.
susie.
the f1 academy founder and racing mogul would be in attendance today in support of her son.
and god, did the thought of facing her for the first time since the news broke have you absolutely reeling.
what would she say? would she be kind? or rather, would it be a sickeningly sweet sort of niceness? would it all be a facade? would she even acknowledge you? would she let you meet jack?
no matter how much toto told you that she was over it, there was still that anxious feeling. it was ever-present, gnawing away at you.
and now, as you approach the garages, hand-in-hand with toto, that anxiety heightened, almost paralyzing you with fear. with every step, it felt as if you feet were concrete, barely moving at all.
"it's okay baby," a voice, his voice, floods your ear. it's barely a whisper, almost inaudible as you grow closer to the throng of parents and children, "i love you."
chewing on your lower lip, you manage to croak out a response, "i love you too."
you hadn't even spoken with susie yet and you were already bristling with fear. only five minutes had passed since you got out of the car and your palms were slick with sweat, armpits damp as well.
fuck, was this going to be torture.
you could manage to get behind the wheel of a vehicle that topped speeds of over two hundred miles an hour but meeting an ex-wife and former acquaintance was almost too much.
how fucked was that?
for a moment, you couldn't but admire toto's initiative to keep your nerves at bay. how he had pulled you closer, looping your arm through his. how his thumb traced soothing circles into your skin, his mercedes cap situated on your head.
he was doing everything in his power to keep you calm. and god, did you love him for that.
the team principal comes a halt, your heart thudding as scans the garage. he pauses, eyes forming slits as he searches for susie. after all, with her blonde bob and striking smile, she was pretty distinguishable.
you couldn't forget a stunning face like susie's.
"ah," toto sucks in a breath, "guten morgen!"
your head swivels in the direction of his voice, picking out a blonde. the woman turns, lips pulling into a grin as she recognizes toto.
"good morning!"
your hand trembles, knees almost buckling as she strolls towards you, little one in tow. for a moment, you squeeze your eyes shut, hoping that maybe this was some sort of a dream. praying that you would simply wake up, wrapped up in your lover's arms.
yet, his hand breaking away from yours reminds you that is real. very real.
you remain still as toto's arm envelop susie's frame, bringing her in for a warm embrace. he pecks her cheeks, the words indistinguishable. you recognize them as german, cursing yourself slightly for not keeping up with your courses.
"and good morning to you," susie bears a bright smile as she turns to you, opening her arms up for a hug. you return the gesture, awkwardly placing two kisses on either cheek.
"it's nice to see you again."
"papa!" a voice squeals, bursting with joy, "she's here! my favorite driver is here!"
at that, you notice susie's right eye twitch. toto kneels, scooping jack up. he hoists the little one into the air so that he was at your level. at the interaction, you feel your lips curl, forming a quaint smile.
"guten morgen, jack! i can't believe i'm finally meeting my favorite kart racer. i think i'm a little starstruck."
jack's eyes widen, his cheeks tinged a rosy pink. his hands fly to his face, shielding his shyness. toto leans in, whispering something in his ear. in turn, jack peeks out, stars glistening in his gaze as he peers at you.
"did you come to watch me race today?"
"i did," you nod, "i figured i would give your dad some company today."
"mama says that you keep my dad company too much and-"
"let's not worry about what mommy thinks," susie cuts in, "let's just worry about racing today, okay?"
toto arches a brow, yet holds his composure, "let's go check out the kart and let the women gossip, yeah? what do you think about that?"
jack nods enthusiastically as toto sets him down. taking his father's hand, he leads him to the other end of the garage, buzzing about a mile a minute. for a moment, there's a beat of silence, susie inhaling a sharp breath.
"i am so sorry."
"about?" your brow furrows, "ms. wolff, you have nothing to be-"
"it's stoddart now," susie's lips form a tight line, her eyes squeezing shut, "did toto not inform you? the divorce was finalized."
"i-" you stammer, swaying slightly, "i-i had no idea."
the blonde rolls her eyes, bringing a hand to her temple, "he has a knack for forgetting important events like that. i apologize for putting you on the spot. i hope you know that i have no ill-will or grudge toward you. it's just... different, you know? he is so different now that he has you."
"what do you mean by that?"
susie motions her head, pointing in the direction of toto and jack, "just look at him. i have never seen him so loving or careful with anyone until you came into the picture. i have never seen him so proactive in jack's life. you have changed him. you truly are his golden girl."
in that moment, your heart swells, bliss rippling all throughout as you watch toto and jack. the little one's hand was wrapped around toto's finger, the child showcasing all of the new modifications to his kart. toto couldn't look any more proud, his gaze brimmed with affection, dimples apparent as jack toted him along.
"susie," you begin, attempting to form some sort of response that would truly express your gratitude, "thank you, for that. you really have no-"
"don't thank me," a chuckle bubbles up in her throat, the blonde resting a hand on your shoulder, "just stick around, yeah? i don't know if i can handle anymore drab and depressed toto. also, i wouldn't mind if you wanted to stop by the academy sometime. we miss you around there."
"i could probably fit that in sometime," you beam, "there isn't much more of the season left. i would love to come by and see how things are progressing."
"don't feel like you have to just because of me," susie sticks outs a hand, "i know you're fairly busy at brackley in your free time."
after her statement, she winks, heat billowing into your cheeks the moment you realize what she meant.
so she had heard the rumors.
"well," the blonde clears her throat, fishing her phone out of her pocket, "my partner is going to be here any minute now. i need to go meet up with her so she doesn't get lost. you think you can keep the boys out of trouble?"
"i sure can," a giggle flows from your lips, "i'll go see what they're up to. isn't the first lap going to start here soon?"
"yes," susie responds, spinning on her heel, "if i can't find you two around here, will you text me from toto's phone?"
"of course!" you chirp, flashing her a thumbs up, "we'll meet up with you soon!"
"great," susie flashes you a grin, waving at the boys one last time.
as she disappears among the growing crowd of parents, children, and family, you make your way towards toto and jack. the moment jack spots you, he waves you over, "i need help!"
"what is it?" you fold your arms across your chest.
"will you give me some tips?" the little one cocks his head as toto zips up his racing suit.
"what sort of tips?" there's a cozy sensation blooming in your chest as you kneel to the ground.
"racing tips, duh!"
"i'll tell you what," carefully, you place your hands on his shoulders, maintaining eye contact.
"the most important thing i can tell you to do is to believe in yourself. if you can do that, then you can do anything."
"anything?" jack's lip purse, toto hovering with his helmet in his grasp.
dipping your head, you take the helmet, placing it on the child's head, "anything. no go kick ass out there. i know you'll do great!"
at your words, you can't help but notice the way jack brightens. his mouth forms a radiant smile. for a minute, he's a spitting-image of his father, the sight tugging at your heart.
"okay! i'll go kick some ass! only cause you said i can!"
as toto helps him into the kart, you rise to your feet, a singular thought buzzing in your mind.
maybe one day a little toto wouldn't be so bad.
just maybe.

Alkaline pt. 1
Part 2,
A/N: decided to make this into a series. And I’m giving you all a last name because I FEEL like it so HA.
Warning: my writing per usual
Wednesday Addams x Fem!reader (umbrakenetic)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She’s staring..
How rude..
Make her stop!
I don’t like her..
Throw her out the car..
She’s not to be trusted..
Let’s make her fear a little more..
The whispers chanted around you, your eyes stayed glued on the window and the passing trees as the lady your mother called your ‘Nanny’ stared at you. Wide eyed and alert with how close she had to be in the small car.
What kind of sixteen year old needed a Nanny?
She usually stayed at least ten feet away from you in hopes the shadows would not taunt and tease her. It didn’t help though, they would follow her around to torment her through her days inside your home much to her dismay.
She thought it was you, trying to chase her off with after your statement that you preferred loneliness than to be accompanied by the middle aged woman. She seemed to linger more after your comment to your mother as if she had betrayed you by telling her.
But it was not you, how could it be when you had bored figures following you all day? Though you did not appreciate her presence, you tolerated her for your mothers sake of you not being alone all your life. The shadows thought differently.
But what could you do? Sure, you could control the shadows around you but only if they allowed you to. They had their own mind much like ghost and did not like the idea of being told what to do in a condescending way.
So you did what you normally did, sat back and watched the chaos. They knew her intentions and made it their mission to torture the young woman sat three feet in front of you. You were glad they didn’t whisper everything to her like they did you, she would go insane within a week.
They thought that was to merciful, - if that’s what you call mercy - so they did what they did best; torment her. They’d pull her hair, move things out of place and even make them fall to scare her, they would throw things and whisper things to her that would have her breaking her neck to look behind her to see no one. Any sane person would have left already and you did not know why she hadn’t.
The money..
Greedy..
Pathetic..
Ah. That’s right.
“Leave her be, we’ll be away from her in time.” You mutter quietly and they seem to move around at a faster pace around you. The lady tenses at the sight of your mouth moving very little while nothing but small noises came out.
Fine..
No fun..
A small smile forms on your face at their rare obedience before your head turns toward her. Her body stiffens and she visibly gulps, eyes wide as she looks at you.
You felt bad for her. You remembered your first years of their taunts and whispers but now they seemed to tolerate your presence far more than anyone else.
There was a silence, an eerie one. Even for you. The only sounds that you could hear were the ones of her heavy breaths and the rumble of the car.
She gulped once again before forcing her features to soften.
“It’s good..” she started with the same smile the shadows did not like. Fake and deceiving they called it. “you’ll be able to see your mother throughout the year without any worries.”
That’s right. Your mother had decided upon herself to sign you up to be a student at Nevermore; a school for outcast. It worked out, especially after last years events.
She would replace the teacher who had caused chaos and destruction. - the shadows thought they’d enjoy her by your mothers description. - Though this time the school had made sure she was an outcast and not out to eliminate their students.
You hum in response before turning back to the window. You had no desire to conversate with the woman who only did so to get rid of your stare. She knew you hated speaking and she spoke too loudly.
“At least you won’t be alone..” she says slowly followed by a nervous chuckle clearly unaware of you brushing her off.
“She will definitely be better company than me.” Her way of saying she was ready to get rid of you was strange.
You barley turn your head and send her a glare that has her sinking further into her seat before scooting farther away and pressed up against the door.
We’re here!
It’s lovely..
Many places to hide!
Mamas here..
Your eyes travel back toward the window as their chants grew and the once bumpy road begins to smoothen out.
You had to agree, the sight was indeed lovely. It was a large castle. Dark and old, almost ancient with how busted up it looked but it also had some features more modern. Remodeling, you had assumed, to give the place a more welcoming feeling.
It did not.
The only thing out of place was the broken second tower, it was as if it had been struck by lightening so many times that they gave up on fixing it. A good theory.
As the car came to a halt you couldn’t help but notice the shadows in the windows, some new and some having left you to explore. New shadows meant new voices. You were happy for the company.
You also take notice to the large amount of cars in the area. People, a lot of them. You were not happy for that company.
You step out of the car as the driver rushes to the back to grab your things. You only spare him a glance before looking to the nanny who looked at the place in disgust almost. Clearly her taste were far different from yours, a horrible thing really.
While she wore bright colors you wore all black, the shadows didn’t like color. Especially when it was nearby too often, perhaps it was a reason they did not like her. She was around too often with her colorful clothes yet her personality lacked it, she was too much into fitting in.
You turn quickly before she wouldn’t notice your stare and make your way inside leaving her behind.
You begin to notice the other families as they bid their good byes to their children while others spoke to other parents.
More than likely flaunting their children’s successes or their own, or perhaps they enjoyed each others company and spoke of other things. Doubtful, but there was hope in the older generation.
Your eyes scan the large open area of people, the students were not in their respective uniforms due to it being opening day which was expected. After all you weren’t, the black sweat shirt and jeans only proving it further.
Suddenly you feel a presence beside you and the voices begin to grumble and disappear at her appearance.
“Isn’t this lovely.” She said as a mother passes by with a large group of teenagers your age as they scratch their heads, push each other and make noises you both found strange.
Yes, very lovely.
“Perhaps you’ll find some friends in such a school, people like you.” Her words were meant to be comforting but you couldn’t help but take offense. She was a normie - a choice you wished your mother did not make when choosing a Nanny - so she didn’t understand the struggle of fitting it, especially in a school full of freaks that also avoid you.
You found the thought strange, her fitting in. You imagined she was disliked by her friends with how dull and fake she was.
You glance down toward her with a scowl that makes her shiver even though she doesn’t look up at you.
You did not like her.
You decided to refrain from looking at her any longer and scan the area once again. It was open, it lead into halls inside and outside of the school, had areas to sit and a large fountain in the middle where people seemed to linger.
It was also dark in the corridor‘s, benches placed in the perfect places to hide away from prying eyes and stay out of the sun.
Yes, you were going to like it here.
Your eyes then land on familiar ones and you can’t help but feel relaxed at the sight.
Your mothers bright eyes squint slightly as she smiles at a large group of female students along with a woman who stood at an impossible height beside her.
An introductory, you had assumed based on the knowledge she was not only a teacher but a ‘dorm mom’ she called it.
Her eyes snap to yours and soften further making you feel yours do the same as a small smile forms across your face.
She looks back down to the girls and says something causing the group to glance toward you and your nanny as your mom moves toward you.
“Hello, dear.” She calls out with open arms you immediately let yourself fall into. Literally. The height on the woman was no joke. Yes you were taller than usual, lanky even, but she lacked height that you assumed was from your father.
Mama!
So soft..
She smells good..
Whose this?
I like her.
Familiar and new voices sound through your ears as you straighten your posture and look down at the woman inspecting you.
“You look delightfully pale, as usual.” She said with a large smile. The teasing gesture you were so used to it made you soft, you had to admit. But only for her.
She was quite literally a ball of sunshine, a light manipulator. Opposite to you and your father. Convenient you had taken all of his genes.
“Have you been putting on extra sun screen?” She asks with slight concern. She knew how it had affected you more than most and you nod.
“I packed some as well.” You mumble as she reaches up and straightens your hair back. “As did I.” She smiles before a large figure steps beside her, the color they wore burning your eyes from the reflection of the sun making you suddenly remember why you all hated color.
You looked up to see the tall woman smiling down at you in a creepy way. Another fake smile you had to put up with, fantastic.
“You must be Y/N Tasseas.” She says in an almost calming voice. Perhaps she was that bad or your mother told her things already.
You simply stare up at her, examining her features. She was the opposite of you, more so than your Nanny who wore real color. She wore all white, her hair included. How odd.
“You’ll have to excuse Y/N, she’s not really a ta-“
“Aren’t you supposed to be dead?” You ask interrupting your mother who falls silent at your comment.
You watch her eye twitch twice as the shadows begin to bark out laughter around you, asking you to say more.
“Y/N!” Your mother says, turning toward you and hitting your chest. You don’t move and continue to stare up at her unblinking, which the shadows helped with as they guarded your eyes from the sun and air that passed by.
You wait for an answer that never seems to come but you could wait. You came up just above her chest so you didn’t have to crane your neck to look at her and you weren’t easily intimidated.
Who does she think she is..
Why won’t she answer..
Weems is upset..
Hide..
Her glare suddenly left as quick as it came and turned into a smile. “No, I am not.” She says eyes never leaving yours. You had to admit she was brave. “Though I was injured in last years event, I have fully recovered since then.” She breaks the eye contact between you two the smile at your mother and you can’t help but feel your own form. Oh how you loved making people uncomfortable.
“Quite the expensive fate.” You mutter to yourself as your gaze travels back to the crowd that was growing larger.
A lot more people than before. This should be fun.
You grimace at sight and you can feel the area around you eyes darken, the shadows moving at a quicker pace at your sudden sour mood.
“It seems it’s time for our speech.” The principal says as she turns to your mother whose smile grows at the thought of her own personal introduction.
The taller woman walks off and your mother turns to you, she raises her eyebrow before giving you a wink.
“Lillie!” She says and your nanny jumps slightly before stepping forward. “Seems you won’t be needed for a while, why don’t you go home until this is over.”
Her face lights up and she nods eagerly. “Of course Mrs. Tasseas!” She says before glancing up at you with a smile. “Enjoy your time here, Y.N.” She says before rushing away.
You roll your eyes and look back to your mother. “She shouldn’t be needed at all.” You mumble as your mother pushes a piece your hair back into its place.
“Mhmm.” She says with a smile before turning on her heels and rushes after Weem’s who had already started her speech.
You take a shaky breath in to help calm yourself and the shadows, it helps little but they seem to settle down as you watch Weem’s usher your mother forward.
Tell us a story..
Story time!
We get stories?
“Later,” you mutter quietly as your mother begins talking. The more younger shadows seem to like when you tell them things they never got to hear before their death. “That’s for bedtime.”
A chorus of claps sound out causing you to do the same as your mother steps back with a smile. Perhaps you could tolerate the place for her.
————
“Yoko, this is your new dorm mom, Mrs. Tasseas.” Weem’s says as the girl opens her suitcase and looks back with a smile.
“And this is her daughter Y/N, your new roommate.” Her smile falls as you step forward looking through out the room.
She had posters taped all over the walls, most of the furniture red and her own items liter the place. You didn’t mind due to the fact the curtains were drawn and the place was dim. That’s all that mattered.
“Roommate, huh?” She asks stepping forward to inspect you herself over her sunglasses. Her eyes resembled those of a vampire that had been bred out of Pureblood, a normal color rather than the crimson it should have been.
She continue to stare you up and down, from the tightness of your tied shoelaces, to your black fingers, and to your face that seemed to be overly aware and sensitive to everything around you.
Wide eyes, stiff shoulders and clenched jaw. A strange sight for the teenager who was probably far older than you.
“You’re nightmares with be our dreams.” You mumble without looking away and she flinches back slightly when you buck at her.
You can’t help the smile that forms on your face when both your mother and Weem’s sigh. Yes, the girl had been warned before hand about your personality but that didn’t mean you had to show it so soon.
“Our?” She asked with a raised eye brow, completely ignoring your statement. A sudden dark presence forms behind you and the girl stares wide eyed at the faceless figure.
“Yes, our.” You repeat as a few more form around the room, staring at her without eyes before disappearing as quickly as they came.
She blinks once, twice, three times before smiling. “I like her already.” Though her tone seemed unsure and hesitant.
Strange..
I call under the bed..
No fair!
Move it..
Your mother lets out a sigh of relief before smiling. “We’ll let you two get settle then.” Her entire being lightens up the room before leaving behind Weem’s.
“Okay, I can’t lie.” You hear Yoko say making you slowly look away from the door and to her. “You’re just a tad bit creepy.”
You knew the facade would leave when they did. Teenagers always seemed to do that when adults left.
You raise an eye brow in amusement. “That was the goal.” You reply before moving to the other side of the room, ignoring her items and posters. It was her room before you - perhaps for a long time - you didn’t exactly have to right to demand she move her things.
Besides it gave it a little life, it would simply be too dark for her if you had decorated it yourself.
“No, like, I’m used to creepy at this point,” she says as she plops herself down on her bed to watch you open your own suitcase that sat on your bed.
“I just got used to Wednesday, but you’re up ten notches compared to her.” The statement piques your interest.
“Wednesday?” You ask taking a seat on the bed to face her, hands in your lap as you stare at the girl watching her shift uncomfortably under your gaze for a moment.
“Yeah, our very own Lydia Deetz,” you try to create a mental image and form it into a figure in the middle of the floor.
Yoko stares in disbelief at her as the figure looks between the two of you. “Much shorter,” she says smiling growing as it shrinks. She stands and begins circling it and it’s head follows.
“Two pigtail braids and bangs, baggy clothes and a glare that looks like she wants to kill everyone.” You stare at the dark figure and Yoko narrows her eyes at it. “Close enough,” she decides while nodding.
“Expect she doesn’t do that.” She finishes and reaches a finger out and pokes it causing it to pop into a dark cloud of smoke that slowly dissipates into the floor.
“She’s more so scary - no,” she thinks for a moment before coming to her conclusion, turning to you slightly. “I’d say Intimidating, While you got this eerie feeling to you.” She says tilting her head slightly as she once again inspects you.
“You’re style is way different though,” she states and you glance down to your black and white converse, - the little color they allowed you to wear - it was a simple look, perhaps this Wednesday had a knack for dressing up.
“Curious.” You mumble before looking back toward your unpacked suitcase.
“Don’t sweat it though.” Yoko states as she pulls out her phone and begins angry texting. “I’m sure she’ll like you much more than the rest of us, you’re just like her.”
The term was starting to annoy you. Being compared to other with similarities to you was starting to get frustrating, especially when they’re slowly getting much similar.
Everyone was their own person, except you don’t let the social tower tell you what you can act like. You’d prefer to act how you wish to when you wish to.
She’s texting about you..
I thought we would like her..
I like her..
Tell her to stop..
You let out a quiet shaky breath before standing and pulling out the dark clothes to put into you closet.
“Let her, she’s not harming anyone.” You mutter quietly ignoring the glance Yoko gives you when you do so.
————
You couldn’t sleep. Both you and the voices restless in the new environment but that’s to be expected. You had the reassurance of the ones who were already here but that wasn’t enough, most left to sweep the halls searching for threats others stayed in a protective circle around you.
Still, it wasn’t good enough. You would have to do it yourself.
You tap the top of your phone. 3:43 good, no one would be up to find you wandering around.
You push the blanket back gently, your legs swing across the bed before your feet touch the cold floor. You glance toward Yoko’s bed to see her completely knocked out, sunglasses off and hair slightly freezy as she snores quietly.
You slip your socks and shoes on and grab the zip up jacket hanging off the side of your bed. You quickly yet quietly slip through the door and watch Yoko before shutting the door.
The late summer breeze immediately hits you as you step out into the open, you had shorts on seeing as it was still warm but you still couldn’t help but feel a little chilly as the wind passes you.
The circle gets tighter around you in the process, warming you up slightly.
You begin you trek across the school, inspecting every dark corner in the process to make sure nothing was hiding. It eased your nerves every time you saw that one did not have anything hiding in it.
It was a good time to go out and look for things in the shadows, though the moon was bright. A waxing gibbous, the night before a full moon where the werewolves would go out and run around like maniacs something you were not looking forward to.
Stop..
Someone’s coming..
Hide!
Dark hands reach out for you in the closet corner and you allow you body to fall into their grasp, the darkness taking over your completely.
Their whispers are hushed and panicked as they speak of whoever they saw while you just wait and watch feeling their arms tighten around you as the person nears.
The foot steps are quiet and careful and as it gets closer you still can’t help but notice how quiet they still are.
Suddenly a figure comes from behind a corner, pausing for a moment before stopping to look both ways and deciding to walk in your direction. The arms tighten even more, suffocating you in a sense as you take in a final breath.
Something was also following close behind, it moved quickly in an unusual way and the closer they got you saw it was a hand. A stitched up and decapitated hand. How very unusual.
Your eyes travel back to her to see the resemblance to Yoko’s description. Short, pigtails, baggy clothes and the look of a murderer.
You also noticed how much different she actually looked compared to you, Yoko was right about the style difference yet hers was also simple, the only difference being the white that went along with the black perfectly.
You hold your breath as she walks closer. Even the shadows get quiet in her presence before she passes you, unbeknownst to your dark aura and you let out a small sigh.
Unfortunately, the hand was far more observant than the girl. That or it had heard your silent sigh somehow.
She continues to walk as it stops and.. looks up toward you? The shadows growl and hiss silently as it begins to inch toward you.
Once in the dark corner it taps around the area of your foot before coming in contact with it. It freezes for a moment before feeling more. First the shoe laces, then the tongue and then your bare leg and that was enough to make it start to shake and scatter back.
It taps the ground frantically until the girl stops and glares down toward the hand.
“What is it, Thing?” She asks impatiently making it snap two times and point twice toward you dark corner.
You curse this ‘Thing’ silently as her eyes travel toward you and the whispers begin to grow louder. Hisses, growls and howls are heard making the hand shake and rush toward the girl who stared, wide eyed.
You noticed that it was more so readiness rather than fear in her eyes, as if she’s willing to fight off whatever could be lurking in the shadows. She was a fool, you decided.
We should have grabbed him when we had the chance..
Don’t go..
She’s pretty..
Yes..
Let’s lock them both away to keep them silent..
You let out a sigh and the shadows seem to understand as their grip on you loosens and allow you to step out.
Her eyes snap from the corner to you as you step out, black smoke forming at the bottom of your feet before traveling in all directions. Her eyes look down to watch it pass her feet and Thing scurries up her leg to get off the ground.
They look back to you, your posture stiff under her gaze. The look in her eyes was almost dangerous as if it were begging you to try something she wouldn’t like. You had to admit, she did make you feel intimidated.
But what was worse was the first thing that left her mouth. “You do know there’s a curfew, right?”
She completely ignored the fact that she had missed passing you or the way you appeared from the darkness. She was more worried about the fact that you were out passed curfew as if she wasn’t. Yes, very curious…
“You are not a student?” You ask, head tilting slightly as dark hands grip the back of your shirt; ready to yank you back if she tried anything herself.
Her chin lifts slightly before humming, looking you up and down. The way she did it was different from the way Yoko did it, it made you sweat and your heart pound slightly. It made you want to go back into hiding, not a good look. You felt almost awkward, as if, for once, you didn’t know what to say.
“You must be Wednesday.” You say as the whispers pick up again repeating her name. If she heard them she doesn’t acknowledge it as she nods.
“You must be Y/N.” She says looking over you once again yet her expression never changes, much like your grandfathers. You knit your eye brows together and give her a confused look.
This amuses her. “Your roommate talks too much for her own good, she might even spill your secrets next.”
“I don’t have secrets.” You reply quickly and the shadows giggle before circling around her to inspect her themselves.
“Secrets only bring people who want to butt their noses into your business.” You state matter-of-factly and the girls gaze seems to grow intense. And I don’t like people doing that.”
Your eyes meet hers for a moment, she’s searching for something. What exactly? You don’t know but you allow her to without breaking eye contact but decide to speak while she does so.
“Why are you out so late?” You ask unknowingly as you shift away from the corner slightly allowing her to see the hands that pull back in. If she were to intimidate you why not give it a shot yourself.
It didn’t work, she simply glanced at them before looking back to you. If she was scared she was good at hiding it.
“I enjoy walking during the night, especially before it gets loud in the next.” She refers to the werewolves that were growing restless of the approaching moon.
A lie..
And that it was. She herself was walking the school to search for any unwelcome visitors, after last years events she couldn’t help herself. It made her feel nauseous knowing that the feeling in her was dread that it could happen again just by her mere presence at the school.
Who better than to investigate than the one who saved it herself?
“And you?”
“I’m looking for signs of any threats.” There was no need to lie, not ever. You didn’t see the point if people would figure out the truth eventually.
“Threats?” She asks as she follows you through the corridor, now walking to feet away to your left. After hearing about last year we do not feel safe.” You mutter as your eyes scan toward the dark areas of the quad.
She stays silent as she follows you after all her intentions were the same as yours, you were just far more open about it.
“But then again no where is safe, dark things linger in dark shadows.” You mutter, much quieter than last time but with Wednesdays heighten senses she heard you.
“Yet, you just so happen to be lingering in the shadows.” She says and you look down to meet her hard gaze, it was questioning yet hopeful at the same time.
“It’s not impossible you could be those dark things.” She says and you can’t help the smirk that plasters across your face, the smug look makes Wednesdays eyes narrow. She was smarter than the rest, more observant.
“And linger I do,” you say look back forward, smirk still on your face. “But I simply only watch, that’s the way to learn who the dark things are that like to hide plain sight.” Your smirk falls as the whispers quiet down slightly, they we’re starting to grow tired.
“Have you found any yet?” This was her asking you if there was something she should be worried about. Maybe? It’s what it sounded like to you though. You simply shake your head as you look through out the quad, the dark areas clear of any shadows in your view. You imagine it’s far darker to Wednesday.
“Seeing as there are no threats here,” you state stopping suddenly making the much shorter girl stop as well. You were desperate to get away from her gaze, something you only found you doing with your mother. It was strange with anyone other than her.
The moon light hit her skin perfectly in the open area, she was pale but still had a good amount of color to her for her skin tone, freckles scatter her face and you wonder how many you would be able to count before leaving.
“I’ll leave you to your walk, Wednesday.” You don’t give her a chance to respond before walking toward a corner, hands begin reaching out as you near before pulling you in and it’s almost as if you weren’t there. She would have thought you weren’t if it were not for the fading black smoke that looked at her feet.
Wednesdays eyes linger on the area where you disappear, the internal conflict in her head began.
A sudden tap on her shoulder catches her attention and she looks down to see thing who does a sudden hand motion.
“Yes, she was strange.” She replies with a nod and he quickly begins moving again. “Perhaps in a good way, yes.”
He stops for a moment, clearly deep in thought before doing quick hand signals again. I think you should talk to her again.
The statement was simple yet it conflicted Wednesday entirely. Could she trust you? You were the one who said dark things aren’t safe.
“Perhaps I will, she seemed to scare you enough to have you hiding.” She says and the angry taps began. Wednesday would have smirked if it weren’t for his fingers that were pressing into her shoulders.
“I enjoyed the silence, perhaps I’ll hunt her down just to shut you up again.” The angry taps increased making the girls lips curl oh so little.
A/N: please tell me the conversation between them at the end was good? I found it difficult to write it but I already have future conversation ideas it’s just this one was weird and i didn’t know what to do.
I tried to make it a little awkward as they both aren’t used to being around people like them
Please give me your thoughts

Summary: You put Azriel on a sex ban after he came without permission.
~~~~~
“I did not give you permission.”
“P-Please Yn-”
“Not yet,” I reprimand, shoving Azriel’s shoulders flat on the bed. “I told you no.”
Az pants. Mouth open, chest rising and falling under my palms. “Please, Yn. I-I need it so bad.”
“No you don’t. You’ll do exactly what I asked because you’re my good boy. Behave. You know I’m not afraid to punish you.”Az grit his teeth, hands coming to my hips. “Uh uh,” I click my tongue, forcing his hands off my body. “I didn’t say you could touch either.”
“Fuuuuck,” he whines, bending his knees and using that leverage to fuck into me. “Please please please.”
“No,” I snapped, climbing off his lap. Off where he needs me most. “Didn’t I tell you to stop? Are you trying to be a fucking brat?”
“Y-Yn-”
“I did not give you permission to act like a spoiled little brat. Do you wanna cum? Do you wanna feel good? Only I get to decide. This cock is mine. You cum when I tell you.”
“Oh…oh fuck fuck fuck-”
I look down at Azriel’s dick, a sloppy, leaking mess. His cum runs down the side of himself, down the inside of his thigh. His eyes are screwed shut and he babbles like an idiot. Shock and utter disbelief slams into me.
“You are so pathetic Az,” I shake my head. “Couldn’t wait for me to tell you when? That desperate? Such a fucking slut. A dumb, pussy drunk slut.”
“I’m sorry,” he apologized, though his eyes didn’t convey it.
“Oh, I bet you are. Well, you’re gonna be really fucking sorry after I’m done with you. No more playing until I find a suitable punishment for your actions.”
His eyes widened in horror. “No playing? As in… no sex? At all?”
“You need to learn what self control means, Az,” I brush the hair out of his eyes, putting a sickly sweet smile on my lips. “Until you can understand how to obey me, you get nothing. No touches, no kisses, no getting off in the shower.”
I watch him swallow. “H-How did you know I was-”
“I know everything you do when it comes to your pleasure, Az. You thought you could hide it from me? You think you’re so clever? Oh Az, you’re even more pathetic than I thought you were. Don’t worry, I’ll make it all worth it in the end. But just know, you won’t be getting off easy. You’ll get punished for this, as well as finishing the punishment you were already taking. And I can’t forget about all the times you got off without me.”
“Yn I was just-”
“I don’t wanna hear your fucking excuses,” I yell, gripping his jaw so his eyes locked on me. So I know he’s gonna hear what I have to say. “Here are the rules: you are not allowed to touch me. You are not allowed to kiss me. You are not allowed to touch yourself. Are. We. Clear?”
I revel in the way his face falls. True, raw sadness seeping into his beautiful hazel eyes.
Azriel nods weakly. I tighten my grip on his chin as well as thread my fingers through his hair. I yank. Hard. “Yes yes yes we’re clear.”
“Good boy.”
~~~~~
Azriel was losing his mind. I can tell by the way he sits. By the way he stands. It is killing him inside not to touch me. I made him start sleeping in a different bed just to add insult to injury. On day four, both Rhys and Cassian had to ask me what was up with him. They had never seen him so distracted during one of their training sessions.
My reply was simple: Azriel knew better, and he got what he deserved.
By the end of week one he started to follow me around like a lost pet. He clung to my side, staying just in my peripherals. Those wicked shadows grew tense. Every once in a while I would watch him get undressed, watching as he had to force himself to not touch. It seemed like he was always rock hard too. Every time I looked, he was ready to go.
I was talking with Mor earlier in the day about Az’s… situation, and she suggested I try a different approach to the punishment. Truly test his determination and ability to not fold under pressure. Surely our courts Spymaster will be able to handle a little bit of torture, won’t he?
Simply because I cannot be that cruel, I give him one of his privileges back. He’s allowed to kiss me again, but he’s not allowed to touch me. I know it will be extra brutal considering just how much he loves to play with my hair or grab my ass while making out.
He’s still not allowed to sleep in our bed, and he’s still not allowed to touch himself. Unless I give him explicit permission. I know he hasn’t cheated, otherwise I would’ve felt it down the bond. There’s no way for him to hide his pleasure from me.
Mor, Cassian, Feyre, Rhys, Az and I are heading out to Rita’s tonight. They are having live musicians and Mor made a huge effort to make sure the crowd would be good. Whatever that means. We all head to our respective rooms and homes to get ready, and I start to make good on my plan.
“Az, my love, can you come help me?” I call from the bedroom.
My shadow emerges from the bathroom, Illyrian armor giving off its natural sheene. “Yes?”
I have my backside facing him, completely naked. I make a show of bending over and grabbing my two dress options off of the bed. “Which one do you think will go better? Mor is wearing red and Feyre is wearing black.”
One dress was made of what looked like crushed emeralds. It was glittery and shiny and the most beautiful shade of deep forest green. The other was midnight blue to match Azriels siphons.
I already know which one he’s gonna pick, but I just wanna see him fight the urge to touch me.
He swallows, eyes far from the dress as they settle on my chest… on my stomach… down my thighs. Fuck, those eyes of his do things to me I never thought possible. I clear my throat, and he snaps his eyes to me. “T-The blue one.”
“Hmm, thought so,” I smiled, turning around to put the green one back in the closet. I unzip the back, stepping into it. I can feel his eyes track my every movement. It’s like he's never seen me before and he’s worried I’ll disappear on him. My best guess is he’s savoring what he’s been given because he doesn’t know when he’ll have me next.
My arms reach around and over my shoulder, trying to get the zipper. It’s so tiny and slippery.
“May I?” Azriel asks quietly.
I look over my shoulder at my poor boy. Gods he looks so distraught. And there's more than a tent in his armored pants. A wild grin spreads across my face. “No, you may not.”
Az lets out a whimper.
“You did this to yourself, Az,” I remind the Shadowsinger.
“Please, Yn,” he pleads, coming to stand right behind me. Warmth and need flow down the bond between us. “I’m sorry for being bad. I should’ve listened to you, I shouldn’t have been so selfish.”
A confession? Awww, so sweet. How dumb does he think I am? “I accept your apology.”
The light shines in his eyes as he picks up his head. “Really?”
“Yes, my love,” I nod, fixing a bit of his hair in the front. Azriel’s eyes close and he tries to lean into the touch. I rip my hand away before he can feel my skin. “But that doesn’t mean you’re forgiven.”
His eyes fly open. “W-What?”
“You heard me,” I narrowed my eyes, standing almost chest to chest with him. “You didn’t listen to me, so I will not hear your desperate, whining pleas. You did this to yourself, sweetie. This is a part of your punishment, you’ll be done suffering when I say so.”
“Yn this is cruel.”
An idea flickered to life in my head. “Would you like to see cruel?”
Eyes widening, Azriel’s face drained of color. “No no wait–”
“On the bed.”
“Wait Yn I didn’t–”
“On. The. Bed. Make me ask again and I’ll bring out the cuff and make you wear it all night at Rita’s.”
He was quick to sit on the bed. I knelt in front of him. I ripped down his armor and took him into my mouth, the familiar taste of him welcoming me. Azriel groaned, but he did a good job at keeping his hands to himself.
He shivered with every touch, ever passing of my tongue over his sensitive skin. I almost felt bad for what I was about to do. He’ll understand once it’s all said and done. Why he shouldn't ever disobey me again.
“Wanna see how cruel I can be Az?” Already fucked out, he shook his head, his hair falling in front of his face as it lulls towards his chest. “For every letter of that word, I’m gonna bring you right to the edge, and then let you come all the way down. I’m gonna give the meaning of cruel a new definition tonight.”
“No… no Yn please let me cum,” Azriel begs.
I laughed, loud and giggly right in his face. “Aww Az, I know you’re gonna be such a good boy and take your punishment so well, aren’t you baby? Yes, that’s it, give in to me. You know you need it, don’t fight it, just let me ruin you.”
~~~~~
By the time we made it to Rita’s, an hour had passed. The others were wondering what the delay was, but they took one look, one scent of the air and didn’t ask another question for the rest of the night. Azriel didn’t move from our table and didn’t take a single sip of his drink. He, genuinely, sat and watched the ice melt.
“Yn Yn Yn,” Feyre calls, dragging me off the dance floor to the bar. “Don’t you think it’s fucking with Az a little too much?”
“Pff,” I snort, “If you saw the things he does to me you’d think I was being generous.”
“I’m just saying he’s your mate. It goes against every instinct in his body to not touch you or be near you. Are you sure he’s… okay?”
“Yes,” I nodded confidently. “We had a lengthy conversation before it began, and he was up for the challenge. He told me if he couldn’t stand it anymore, he’d tell me. And I’d listen. I’d be able to feel it if he was genuinely, whole-heartedly being compromised by the game.”
“So how does he feel then?” My High Lady asks, a smile curving onto her lips.
I look back at my mate, finding his eyes already glued to my back. I just give a little wave of his fingers. He downs his drink in one gulp. “I’d say he’s feeling pretty guilty for what he did. But, at the same time, he’s never felt so satisfied in his whole life.”
~~~~~
By the end of week two, everyone is just as surprised as I am at how long this is going on. Az stopped caring about who knew, openly complaining about how needy he was. He was definitely gaining a bit of an attitude. I think he needs a bit of correction.
I strolled into the common room of the Town House and found my family sitting around. They had cards on the table and glasses of wine spread about. Amren currently had the biggest stack of chips in front of her. Rhys, Cass, Mor and Az all had close to none.
“Sorry,” Amren grinned. “But that makes a full house.”
As she fanned the cards on the table, everyone else groaned, sacrificing their chips to Amren. “How do you manage to win every time?”
“Because she cheats,” Mor pouted, crossing her arms over the pillow in her lap.
“Please, you and I both know that Cassian is the one who cheats.”
“I am not!” The Illyrian counters, slamming his fist down on the table. It rattled Amren's stacks, a few sliding over. Everyone around gave him a look. “Okay maybe here and there-”
“I’ve been telling you for years,” Az joined in. “Cass has been secretly stealing chips from my piles when we play. And none of you have ever believed me.”
“That’s because you’ve grown soft in your old age,” Rhys grinned, making Mor snicker. “Speaking of old age, I’m getting pretty tired of you moping around. Feels like it’s been an eternity. When is- oh! Yn, perfect timing. When are you gonna be nice and dick down Azriel?”
Amren just rolled her eyes, but Cassian and Mor cackled to the heavens.
I came and sat beside Mor on the rug, leaning into her side. “I’m not sure. Az, when are you gonna stop being a brat so I can give you what you’ve earned?”
The temperature in the room dropped significantly. A new tinge of red splattered Azriel’s cheeks. Clearly he wasn’t expecting me to be so bold with my answer.
“Have I not been good?”
“You’ve been complaining,” I said. “Not necessarily the good behavior I’ve been looking for. Oh well, maybe we can try again next week.”
A collective groan came from everyone besides Azriel. “Wait, seriously?”
Oh, now we’re talking through the bond?
“Yes, seriously.”
He sighed. “Yn this is–”
“Just know torture has far more letters than cruel, darling. We know what happened last time.”
I sent my mate images of him sprawled on the bed, body flush with need. His legs were spread open by my hands as I brought him to the edge five times over, but never let him release. By the third, I think he stopped feeling it all together. He was too sensitive and too desperate. He was whining and drooling like a mutt in heat. He was slick with sweat, thighs shaking as I used my mouth and hand at the same time.
Azriel’s eyes shot away from me as the memory faded.
“Are you sure you wanna test my patience again?”
“No…”
“That’s what I thought.”
“This is getting to be too much.”
“You’ll take as much as I say you will. Got it?”
Azriel still refused to look at me, so I ever so ‘gently’ sent some impulses down his body. He jolted, rising to his feet immediately. “That was not funny.”
“I never said I was trying to be funny.”
“Will you two take your lover quarrel elsewhere? It’s starting to stink in here,” Mor pinched her nose for dramatic effect, Cassian joining in.
I grinned at Az, “Gladly. Az, let’s go.”
“But we just started a new–”
“It wasn’t a suggestion,” I say, narrowing my eyes and making my way to the door.
He huffed, but grabbed his armored coat and followed behind me. “You’re being exceptionally demanding.”
I whirled around on my foot, Az slamming into my chest. “Wanna say that again?”
His mouth slammed shut as he took a step back. I didn’t miss the way his hands shot out to try to clamp onto me. His shoulders tensed and his heart started racing. It was like thunder in my ears, as strong as my own pulse down the bond.
“Do you think I’m above putting you on your knees and making them watch in that living room?”
The way his eyes widened would’ve made me laugh under any other circumstance. His body was rigid. He looked so small despite being a head and a half taller than me.
“What do you say I make them watch as I give you a suitable punishment for your behavior in there. Do you think they’d like the show? Watching you turn into a whining, shivering, pathetic boy? Aww I bet you’d like it too. Having all the attention as I tell them about how you came when you weren’t supposed to. How you’ve been so rude and inconsiderate when it comes to the pleasure only I get to give you. Or maybe I make them punish you. They all get a turn to make you bend to their needs. I know you’d like that, you can’t even deny it. You’re so worked up by just my words. I haven’t even touched you.”
Az just stands there, stunned, arms slack at his side. His mouth gapes open to speak, but he never does.
“Gods Azriel you are such a slut for me. You can’t even contain yourself anymore. Two weeks without my hands on your body and you’re falling apart. Pathetic. You’re so fucking pathetic Azriel. Maybe I will give you a new punishment. If you wanna cum so badly, maybe I do just that. Make you cum until nothing comes out. Drain you of every last drop so you can stop being so desperate.”
“Please…” He begs. One knee at a time, he falls to the ground, eyes wide. “Gods Yn I’d take anything you’d give me. Just please touch me. I-I need it so bad. I miss your touch, I miss your tongue and your hands and your pussy so much. I need it. I’ve never needed something so bad in my life.”
He’s breaking down. This is perfect. He’s just on the edge of incoherent and exactly where I want him when I give him his actual punishment. This has all been built up to the grand finale. To have tension so when I give him the final one, he cracks like an egg in the palm of my hand. He won’t be able to resist obeying me.
I just giggle at him, turning over my shoulder, and open up the door. “Let's go.”
He doesn’t hesitate to follow a second time.
~~~~~
“Azzzrieeeel,” I called, wondering where he went off to. It’s the end of week three and I decided he’s had enough. I’m just too excited to watch him fall apart at my hands. He disappeared a little while ago.
I can’t hear or see him, but I know he’s in his room. The tap is running in the bathroom, muffling the sounds. I sit patiently on the bed.
Az has been good after our talk. He has retreated back to his quiet, broody self. No longer complaining about how viscous I am. I could’ve made true on my threat about bending him over in front of them, but I decided to spare him.
He should be so grateful.
The door clicked open and Az jumped back at the sight of me on the bed. I just had a silk robe on. One he bought for me. It was black, but in the right light, it shifted to blue. This electric, start ridden blue that he loved to take off of me. This is not the first copy of this garment I’ve had.
“Hi,” he said, voice low and thick.
“Hi, pretty boy,” I said, watching the shiver go down his body. His cock started to swell immediately. I just smiled. “Are you ready for your punishment?”
Without hesitation, “Yes.”
“Just remember your privileges. Unless I give you permission, you’re not allowed. Understand?”
“I haven’t forgotten,” he smiles, stepping closer and closer.
“Hmm,” I hum, “But you might. On the bed.”
Azriel ditches the towel that was hung low on his hips, cock hard and waiting for me.
“So hard already, what a good boy. Knowing exactly what I want.”
I crawl on my knees to where he’s sat and swing them over his thighs. His hands clench the bed cover, desperately trying to keep control of his touch. I slide up just enough that the tip of his cock is rubbing between my thighs. His eyes shut and he inhales deep.
“Be good.”
“I’m…” his whole body is vibrating. “I’m trying so fucking hard. I wanna be good. Wanna be your good boy tonight.”
I laugh softly, taking his chin in my hand. His eyes are dilated, lips are swollen from him chewing on them to resist giving in. “You are being such a good boy Azzie, keep your hands juuuust like that and this’ll be over soon enough.”
He’s gonna wish that were true.
I slide back and forth, grinding on him to relieve my own pressure that’s built up. Counterintuitively, I’ve also placed myself on a sex ban. And it has not been easy. I’m pent up and desperate in my own way for the feeling of his length inside me.
Azriel begins to squirm and I have to remind him to be still. He immediately obeys, fists continuing to strangle this poor bed cover. I slide the rest of the way over his dick, relishing in the way his body relaxes.
“Does that feel good, baby? Did you miss my pussy so much?”
“Yes…” He sighs, eyes lulling shut. With every roll of my hips, a new sound comes out of him. Each one more breathy than the last. “Fuck… t-thank you, Yn.”
“Aww, already turning up the charm are we? I think you’ve earned a little reward.” I lean forward and gently kiss his lips, just barely touching the surface of his skin. He doesn’t lean in, he doesn’t chase, he sits there patiently like the good boy I know he can be.
I push on my knees and rise up, settling all the way down on his length. Over and over I bounce in his lap, content at the feeling of him hitting all my spots. I gently kiss him, running my tongue over his bottom lip. I’m met with a heady moan, Azriel’s shoulders relaxing down.
Time to turn up the heat.
“Azriel,” I pant against his lips.
“Yes, my lady?” He breathes, pupils dilated, breath hot against my own.
I grin at him. “You’re not allowed to kiss me anymore.”
I watch his eyes fall, I can feel the disappointment down the bond. “Okay.”
“No kissing, no touching,” I reminded him.
“No kissing…” I trail my tongue up his neck, biting down on his ear. “N-No touching.”
Az says it twice more, like a long forgotten prayer. An ancient mantra of self control. He’d need it for my next plan.
I spend the next little while taking him fully, up and down and up and down. Cascading my nails down his shoulders and arms, my lips over his neck and chest. He is a whining, uncontrollable mess. The veins in his forearms are swollen with adrenaline, full from his death grip on the sheets.
Shadows swirl around our bodies, the fog like caress cooling my skin with every touch.
I push him flat on the bed, using my hands on his chest as more leverage. I work myself on him, relishing in the strength he’s showing. The shere restraint he has. The discipline. If I didn’t know better, I’d say he’s learned his lesson.
But I did know better. And I can’t wait to break him.
I reach down and rub my clit gently. The stretch of his cock buried deep in me adds the extra stimulation I need. I’m so sensitive. After three weeks of no action, which I know is my fault, I’m right on the edge.
“You wanna make me cum, Azriel?”
“F-Fuck yes, Yn, please,” Az begs. “I wanna make you cum so bad. You deserve it.”
“Mmm,” I hum, circling my finger softly. I muster up the most sickly-sweet voice I can. “Such a good boy, Azzie. Get me there, please I need you.”
I watch as he lifts his head, right hand unfurling from his grip on the bed. He reaches across his body, his thumb ready to take over. But just before he touches me where I need him most, he stops, eyes locking with mine.
“Please give me permission,” he begs. His hand is literally trembling.
“Fuck, Az, I need it. Touch me please baby I want you to make me cum.”
“I-I need permission, I can’t touch you,” he begs, eyes going a little stupid.
A wicked, evil look crosses over my features. Time to really mess with him. “But I need it Az. I need you to make me cum. F-Fuck I need you Azriel please make me cum.”
“Just give me permission baby and I’ll bring the stars down for you,” he promises. Going back to fisting the sheets in his fingers. “F-Fuck Yn please give me permission. I’ve been such a good boy, let me prove how good I can be just give me-”
I hopped off his lap, not missing the guttural noise that came from him. I walked over to the dresser against the wall and took out the bundle of rope I hid a few days ago. I’m not entirely sure how he didn’t find it. I had it specially made for this night a few days ago.
Azriel is going to hate it.
I unwind it, stretching it between my arms. I come back to the edge of the bed and curl my finger at him, beckoning him to sit upright. He rises up and scoots closer to me. I take a second to just look at my Shadowsinger. His chest is flushed, those whirling, bargain tattoos moving with each breath. His hair is a tousled mess, going this way and that. His lips are pink and swollen, just like his tip. I bend forward, gently running my tongue over his slit.
“F-Fuck,” he stammers out. “What are you going to do to me?”
“Stand up. Turn around. Arms behind your back.”
I see the conflict in his eyes, feel his hesitation down the bond. “You want to tie me up?”
“Oh Az,” I smiled sweetly, coming to stand in between his knees. I reached down, gripping him tightly in my palm. He hissed, entire body tensing up. “I’m going to do far worse things than tie you up. Now be a good boy and give me your hands.”
 Eagerly, he stood up, putting his back to me. His hands neatly folded together, fingers interlaced. I trailed the end of the rope down the center of his back, over the crest of his wings. I loved the way his body rippled, loved the way his muscles twitched and his skin crawled with need.
“You’ve been such a good boy,” I praised as I began to try the magic-hilted rope around his wrists. “My good boy, taking your punishment so well these last couple weeks. I know you loved it as much as I did, knowing it would be worth it for when I gave you your reward.”
“Anything to make you happy,” he breathed out, head lulling back when I gave them a firm tug. I opened that bond and let him see himself through my eyes. I could feel the way his body reacted. Every cell in his body rolled with this animalistic desire. This primal need to release.
“Sit,” I order, pushing down on his shoulder until he sits on the edge of the bed. I crawl into his lap, guiding him deep inside me. A content sigh leaves my lips at the feeling of our bodies being reunited. “Az?”
His eyes roll shut when I move my hips back and forth. “Y-Yes?”
“You can touch me now, I give you permission.”
Two things happened. I watched the relief flood his body, feeling it as if it was my own. I watched his face and shoulders relax. Then, I watched him try to move his arms. And a sick, twisted, ruthless grin curled my lips.
Watching him struggle, knowing it would be useless, was a different type of arousal. The fibers of muscles in his shoulders strained, veins bulging down his arms and up his neck as he struggled.
“Wh-What the fuck are these ropes?” He grunted, pulling and pulling to no avail.
“I had them warded by a sorcerous in town,” I smiled, brushing the hair out of his eyes. “Specially crafted so that only I can undo them.”
“You…” he cried out, struggling against them one last time before grunting out a breath. “You are ruthless.”
“Yup,” I agreed, gripping his midnight black locks as hard as I could. “And you fucking love it. Wanna play a game, baby?”
“I wanna touch you, that's what I wanna do. Please undo the ropes, my love. Please,” Azriel begs.
“Uh uh uh,” I shake my head, swiveling my hips, adoring the way he moans. “I’m not done with you yet. I’m gonna stay right here, doing whatever I fucking please to you, and you’re going to keep trying to break the ropes. You have all your privileges back, you can touch me, you can kiss me. But you are not allowed to cum. Understand?”
“Yn please baby, I-I just wanna worship you, just untie me and I can make you cum as many times as–”
“Understand?” I raised my eyebrows, flatting him on the bed with both my hands on his chest.
“Y-Yes,” he breathes out, eyes trained on the ceiling. I let up, releasing him from his pinned position, and he shot up, lips trailing all over my skin. Like my body was his first breath of air, he drank me in as fast as he could. I felt him throb inside me, tiny, pathetic whimpers spilling out of his lips.
“Aww you wanna touch me so bad don’t you? Fuck me on your cock, hmm?” I teased, my own touches light against his shimmering skin.
“Fuck Yn I want it so bad,” he bucked up his hips.
“Just give in, Azriel,” I taunted, matching his thrusts. “Beg me to untie your hands so you can finally touch what's yours.”
He shook his head, gasping for a breath when I reached behind me and cupped him in my hands. “No? You don’t wanna touch me? Grab my hips as you fuck me hard and fast? Don’t wanna taste my pussy? You sure?”
“Oh fuck Yn,” he grit his teeth. I could feel the muscles in his thighs quiver.
“Don’t cum yet, I haven’t given you permission,” I whispered in his ear, relishing the way he tried to run from me. “Aww, what? You can’t handle it? You’ll be done taking your punishment when I say so. You were such a bad boy, Azriel. You know I have to make sure you won’t ever do it again. Now be a good boy and break the ropes, touch me. I need you to touch me so so badly. You don’t wanna disobey me again do you?”
“No no no just let me–”
“Come onnn,” I purr, tilting my head and lowering my voice. “Be my good good boy, Azriel. Break the ropes for me. I know you need me sooo bad. Just be my good little boy and make me happy.”
“But I c-can’t I need you to untie them,” he huffed, arms bulging behind his back.
I took a good look at him, at his flushed chest and the veins running the length of his biceps. Fuck he looked…
I clenched tight around him, shivering when I heard him cry out.
“Aww what’s wrong baby?” I cooed, cupping his face gently in my palms.
“I wanna fill you up so bad, Yn,” he cried out, chest heaving for air. “Please let me cum, I wanna cum so bad I need to cum–”
“Not yet, pretty boy,” I denied, and Azriel groaned, squeezing his eyes shut. “Not until you get out of the binds.”
“But I can’t!” He croaked. “I can’t I can’t I can’t”
“Oh but you’re going to,” I gripped his chin, forcing his eyes to mine. Cauldron above he looked drunk off of me. “Or you can give in, admit defeat and I’ll untie them for you. Come on sweetness, give in.”
I began to bounce up and down on his cock, going all the way up and all the way down. I felt the convulsion run through his entire body. Every time I came down on him, he let out these little noises. Whimpers and soft frustrated groans of pure torture.
“Don’t you wanna make me cum?” I circled my clit, shivering out a breath. “Don’t you want to be the one to make me cum all over your cock? Please baby, make me cum all over you.”
He let out a string of curses, trying to gain some leverage to fuck into me. “Please please please please please.”
“Use your big boy words, Azzie, what do you want?”
“Oh fuck fuck fuck, Yn. Yn… Yn please oh gods Yn please please–”
“You wanna cum, huh?” He nodded, complete fucked out and gone.
“So fucking bad Yn I need it. I’ve been such a good boy for you. I’m sorry for disobeying you. I’m sorry for talking back and being difficult. Just please let me cum I wanna be such a good boy and do it just for you. Fill you up so much, watch it spill out of you. Please let me cum please Yn I can’t hold it back any more please fuck–”
“You want me to stop?” He shook his head rapidly. “I haven’t given you permission to cum, baby. Don’t cum. Do you want me to stop?”
“No no no I wanna cum–”
“I don’t care if you wanna cum,” I grinned, fuccking him harder. “Your job is to please me, and I won’t be pleased if you don’t follow my orders, remember how  you got here in the first place. Tell. Me. To. Stop. A good boy would tell his lady to stop.”
He heaved for a breath, gulping air down, a useless mess of moans and pleasure sounds. “S-S-Stop.”
I halted my hips, brushing his hair away from his face as I kissed up and down his neck. “Good boy, Azriel. Such a good boy for me, yes.”
I reached around and undid the one knot holding the binds in place. They fell off his wrists and he sobbed in relief, a few tears streaking down his face. A few landed on my chest.
“Lick them up,” I ordered.
Without a second thought, he licked his tears off my chest. I massaged his shoulders and slowly, so slowly, his hands came to cup my ass. His hands were vibrating with energy. He watched with bated breath to see how I’d react.
“My good boy,” I praised, kissing his cheek. “You wanna make me cum?”
“Please.”
“Get to it then,” I smiled, kissing his lips fiercely. For a moment, he forgot the task at hand, falling deep into the reunification of our lips.
I was on my hands and knees the next second. I had to brace one hand on the headboard so he would plow me through it completely. Using his wings for leverage, gusts of wind sending goosebumps across my skin, he fucked into me as hard as he could.
“F-Fuck Az– you feel so good,” I said.
“Cum on my cock, my love,” he insisted, and who was I to deny him.
Just like he promised, stars lined my vision. I came hard enough to more or less paralyze my entire body. I slumped on my chest, content to let him do whatever he wanted. He had served his punishment well enough.
I rocked with his body as he fucked into me. He was so fucking deep.
“Y-Yn please–”
“Cum, Azriel.”
As if my very word granted his body, Azriel thrusted twice before going still, wings pumping behind him. I felt every inch of him inside me, every throb and pulse of his release. I could feel it seep down the inside of my thigh.
He pulled out quickly, collapsing on the bed. I looked over my shoulder to make sure he was okay, still seeing his chest rising and falling.
On shaky, stiff legs, I crawled over to him, placing my hand on his chest. “You were such a good boy. My good good boy, Azriel.”
He gave a limp thumbs up. I chuckled.
“You okay?” I asked, kissing some of the marks I left on his bronze skin.
“Mhmm,” he nodded, voice a little garbled.
“I’ll go start a bath, then we can relax and soak for a while, sound good?”
“Yes please,” he nodded, nuzzling his body into mine as best he could. “Thank you.”
“Of course, baby. Thank you for being a good boy for me.”
"Wait, Yn," he grabbed my hand, pulling me back when Is tood up to go to the washroom.
"Yes baby?" I asked.
"I love you," he smiled.
"I love you, my shadow."
            Staring up at the unknown building as the Honda’s engine got cut off, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed. I pouted as I craned my neck to look up through the window at the not too tall structure, wondering where in the hell we were. I heard Mingi unbuckle his seatbelt and then snort, making me look over at him.
“You look like your parents forgot it’s Christmas and didn’t buy you a present.” He noted, making my pout deepen as that sort of has happened when I was a lot younger compared to now.
“I only have a mom…” Mingi’s face fell for a second as I sighed, crossing my arms in front of my chest, “Where are we?”
“Uh,” Mingi gulped, cheeks tinged red as he averted his eyes, “my place.”
A beat of silence passed as my eyebrows furrowed. I unbuckled my seatbelt and threw another glare at Mingi, “But I said I didn’t want to go home.”
“Exactly,” Suddenly, he was beaming as he faced me again, “and so, I didn’t take you to your home! It’s my home.”
Well, he’s got the spirit but his logic was faulty. I pursed my lips, suddenly curious of what his place looked like, the alcohol having dissipated from my body, preventing me from being a whiney child that was inconveniencing Mingi, not that he seemed too irked by my previous behavior at the pub.
“What about your parents?”
“What about them?” Mingi chuckled, opening his side of the door, “I live on my own, come on.”
I huffed and opened my door as well, feeling a small blush spread onto my cheeks. Was I seriously about to go inside Mingi’s apartment in the middle of the night? And why did I not find the idea alarming or repulsive? There must be something very wrong with me if I willingly follow him up to his apartment without creating even the smallest fuss, “Will you just stand there all night?”
I narrowed my eyes at Mingi and crossed my arms as I closed his Honda’s door, finally letting him lock his car as he chuckled, “I wanted to do something fun.”
“Well, doll, most places are already closed in our little town.” He said with a shrug, placing an arm against the side of the car, leaning his weight on it, “But I guess we could hang out at a convenience store like raunchy teenagers or something—”
“No, that’s outdated!” I cut him off, eyebrows furrowing at the stupid idea. I was well past the age of hanging out in front of convenience stores and causing trouble. Mingi sighed, pushing off the car as he walked around it, approaching me with a gentle expression on his face. I gulped and fixed my posture, pushing my hair behind my shoulders as I suddenly felt nervous due to our proximity. What has gotten into me? The memory of his lips pressing against the corner of my mouth was rather fresh in my mind, and I had to avert my eyes as I wasn’t used to Mingi’s platinum blonde hair yet; it made my stomach coil in a weird way.
“If you’re uncomfortable coming inside my apartment, you can say so, Y/N. I thought we are always direct with each other.” Well, he’s not wrong about that. We are direct with each other, transparent even, as long as it’s not about our feelings. I cursed myself for the direction my thoughts started straying towards and instead looked at him, feeling a little shy, and smiled.
“No, it’s good, we can go.” Mingi didn’t seem too convinced so I sighed and slowly reached out for his hand, “I want to, Mingi.”
“Great!” I have barely finished my sentence as his face lit up with happiness, thick fingers lacing with mine as he pulled me towards the entrance of the building. I chuckled as I followed after him blindly, amused by how easy it was to please this guy. He seemed to get enthusiastic about the smallest things, most frequently when things went his way. I tried to ignore the persistent flush of my cheeks as Mingi led us inside the building by our interlaced fingers and guided us towards the stairs, fishing his keys out of his jean’s pocket. We didn’t say much as we tried to be quiet, and that unfortunately allowed my mind to wander towards thoughts it shouldn’t have. Like Mingi’s tall built and how ravishing he looked in tonight’s outfit for the performance. Or the rawness of his voice whenever he closed his eyes and sung from deep within his soul. The way his nose scrunched whenever he got lost in the music as he stayed on beat while relaying the lyrics. Or the fact that his hair had gotten longer and instead of cutting it, he decided to dye it a platinum blonde which made his features sharper than I thought they were. It made my throat dry as I remembered what his body close by felt like, his warmth, the familiar cologne, the way his eyes crinkled, and crooked front teeth showed whenever he smiled too wide.
I grimaced as I slammed into Mingi’s back, instantly flushing even more as he looked over his shoulder with a chuckle. We have arrived in front of a white door with the numbers 18 on it, and so lost in my thoughts, I failed to notice that Mingi had stopped as he was trying to unlock the door. As if lightning zapped me, I released his hand and cleared my throat, running my fingers through my hair. Was it a smart idea coming here if I couldn’t even control my own thoughts?
“Welcome to my little lair.” Mingi’s voice held amusement as he pushed the door open and stepped aside, letting me enter first. I thanked him quietly and gulped as I mustered up any final courage that I needed to not run back down the stairs and hail a cab, and entered his apartment. It was dark, but only for a second as Mingi’s hand reached for the light switch, and then the door was closed behind us, locked and secured, making my heart race as we were now on our own, in the confines of his safe haven, “Don’t mind the mess, I didn’t expect visitors tonight.”
He seemed a little embarrassed as he stepped out of his boots, rubbing the back of his head as I followed his lead and untied my own boots, glad to have them off my feet—they were rather heavy. He leaned down to fetch us flip flops, and I smiled as he pushed one towards me before he wore his. The flip flops were a tad bit bigger than my own feet, but it wasn’t difficult to walk around in them. Mingi seemed to fiddle with his fingers for a second before he walked towards his sofa, grabbing the blanket off it to fold it nicely and place it back on it neatly. The living room space and kitchen were one big room. The walls were white and the floorboards light, the window open as the white curtains were pulled aside to let in the chilly air of the night. A TV on a stand was placed underneath the window, a huge plant in the left corner of the room, and an electric piano in the right corner, the wall above it lined with shelves and a ton amount of books and mangas that I had no idea how Mingi managed to store there—the place was rather small and stuffed. I didn’t allow my eyes to linger on the framed pictures, but it was hard to mistake the familiar photo of Yunho and Mingi hugging when I’ve seen it so many times before. Then, not too far from the TV, a coffee table and a sofa were placed facing it, and Mingi scrambled around to gather a few empty soda cans off the coffee table, shooting me an apologetic smile as he rushed to the kitchen’s side, throwing them away into the trashcan. His kitchen was small but cozy, the cupboards a dark wooden color, looking rather nice. The table was round and spacious, Mingi’s laptop and notebooks strewn across it, as well as some forgotten croissant that looked a bit too old to eat. I noticed the wall to my right was decorated with framed records and snippets of lyrics from probably his favorite artists, and I smiled as I noticed a quote that I knew too well, ‘Art is a line around your thoughts’.
“I had no idea you knew Gustav Klimt?” I muttered bewildered, walking towards the piece of paper that was plastered onto the white wall. Mingi made a surprised noise, and I felt his eyes on me as I traced the words with my fingertips.
“He’s my favorite painter.” Mingi answered with a chuckle, making my eyes widen as I faced him. How come he’s never mentioned that before? I didn’t even think for one second he enjoyed fine art like I did.
“Really?” I sounded a little breathless as Mingi smiled warmly, shrugging off his jacket, which had me forgetting all about Gustav Klimt as my eyes fell on his bare biceps. Fuck, I can’t be checking him out again. He’s just a man and he’s got arms like everyone else, and it’s not like I haven’t seen muscles before. Why must I act like a Victorian man when he sees ankles?! This was rather embarrassing, and much to my dread, I knew Mingi saw me checking him out again as an amused smirk sneaked onto his lips, one eyebrow raised.
“Really.” He answered, voice a few octaves deeper and I crossed my arms in front of my chest, giving him a challenging look. If he was so confident in himself, shouldn’t he call me out for salivating after him all night? Make me more embarrassed or something, “I’m kind of fed up with these clothes, would you like to change into something more comfortable?”
I hummed and nodded, shrugging off my own leather jacket, not oblivious to the way Mingi’s eyes widened slightly, the flush on his cheeks instant. I tried to stifle a giggle as I tied my hair in a low bun, giving him a soft smile, “Do you mind if I also shower? I’ve danced around all night long…”
“Sure, no problem!” Mingi’s voice was higher pitched and it sounded panicked for a second as he scrambled inside another room, which upon flooded with light proved to be his bedroom. I caught myself grinning widely and then instantly frowned, trying to calm my nervous heartbeat as I watched Mingi throw open a huge closet and rummage through it. The prospect of having to wear his clothes dawned on me just now, and I felt like sticking my head out the window for the cool air to calm my flushed cheeks. I feel like I’ve been blushing ever since I stepped out of his car, and that was embarrassing. These emotions and thoughts were very unlike me, the last time I remember being like this was when…I had that stupid crush on Yunho. A lump seemed to form in my throat at the sudden thought of Yunho, skin crawling now that I realized I was standing in his best friend’s apartment, very probably about to have a sleepover with him. But Mingi and I were friends, there was nothing weird about hanging out at one’s place and spending the night over too. If it would have been weird or inappropriate, Mingi wouldn’t have brought me over. It was weird to realize just now that I completely trusted him and felt safe around him, not having to wonder whether his motives were genuine or not.
Mingi suddenly appeared in the doorway of his room clearing his throat as he glanced down at the clothes in his hands, “I, uh, I hope these will fit you.”
“Thank you.” I smiled as I walked over, feeling my heart go crazy as it started beating even faster, making me so embarrassed I wanted to hide away for an eternity. Mingi avoided eye contact, which was good because I couldn’t handle it at the moment, as he handed me over the clothes and then led me towards a closed door, turning on the light for me.
“There’s clean towels in the cupboard and some make-up remover too.” When I gave Mingi a questioning gaze, completely forgetting that he liked to wear eye makeup, he quickly scrambled to explain himself, “Oh, you know…sometimes Seonghwa sleeps over and he’s always wearing make-up so he left it here for me, since…I also wear some at times…”
“Right.” I chuckled, feeling silly for having Mingi explain such insignificant thing, but unfortunately, my thoughts had strayed to different scenarios, and I was a little irritated for feeling reassured upon hearing his explanation, “I won’t take long, promise.”
Mingi hummed and I quickly hurried inside the bathroom, shutting the door behind myself hastily as I leaned against it and released a long breath I didn’t realized I had been holding. God, it was becoming more and more difficult to behave like a normal being. There was no reason for my heart to race like this, nor was there any reason to be nervous around Mingi. I was merely spending the night, and it was going to be fun, since we’re friends.
            True to my word, I quickly cleaned up, rather pleased upon seeing so many skincare products in Mingi’s cupboard; it’s always nice when a man takes care of himself and cleans up well. The fact that I had to shower with the body wash Mingi uses, and afterwards wear his clothes that had the familiar scent of the softener he uses was…challenging to digest, but because I didn’t want to spiral into a full-blown panic attack, I decided to ignore it, and analyze it another time—when I was preferably alone and not in Mingi’s bathroom. The grey sweatpants he had given me were, obviously, way too big, but he was thoughtful enough to give me one that had strings and I could tie them securely around my hips, the white t-shirt, as expected again, loose around my body, making me look smaller than I was. I have never felt small before in men’s clothing, and it was contrasting with how I have always looked when wearing Yunho’s clothes.
After having walked out of the bathroom, before I could say much, Mingi stormed past me inside the bathroom too, muttering something about not taking long either and that I could drink some water and snack on the chips he had placed on the coffee table. Deciding to wait for him in the living room, on the sofa, I texted my mother that I would be back in the morning as I decided to sleep over at a friend’s house, purposefully leaving out Mingi’s name as I knew she’d go crazy with her questions. I could only hope she wouldn’t text Seulgi, who knew where I actually was.
Mingi, done in under ten minutes, had a towel around his head—much like when he had showered at my place—and I watched from the sofa with big eyes as he opened the bathroom’s door, humming absentmindedly as he struggled to wear his flip flops. I gulped, unable to stop my eyes from raking over his body as he started towel drying his hair, still oblivious to my insistent staring. He wore khaki-colored sweatpants and a loose grey t-shirts, its sleeves reaching just above his elbows and the end past his waistline. His black tinged nails were rather contrasting against the white towel he had finally lowered from his head, and he jumped when he saw me looking, as if he had forgotten that I was here.
“Hi.” I muttered with a giggle, completely ignoring the fact that I was blushing again. Mingi froze for a second before he grinned widely, shaking the platinum hair out of his eyes. It was still damp as it fell flatly against his head, the ends poking out in different directions at his nape.
“Let’s go to bed?” Mingi suggested, sounding rather unsure as I hummed and stood up, wearing my flip flops as he placed the towel on the back of a chair and then switched off the lights, leading the way to his bedroom as I shuffled after him, heartbeat once again starting to pick up its rhythm. I placed my hands behind my back and fidgeted with my fingers, hoping Mingi wouldn’t pick up on my nervousness as he switched on the bedside lamp, clearing his throat as he turned to face me. For some reason, he couldn’t hold eye contact, and so, I took advantage of that and quickly checked out his room. It was simple, much like the rest of the apartment, with its walls white and floorboards light in color, a black fluffy rug placed under his double-sized bed, which was right across from the door. There was a black closet to the left, with a beanbag pressed to the corner and three guitars lined up against the wall. To the right, however, as you entered his room, was a large desk with equipment that he probably used for recording his songs, notebooks laying open with a half-eaten burger in a plate next to them. A few more pictures were hung up on the wall, but I quickly averted my eyes out of fear of spotting Yunho again.
“Uh, so…” Mingi rubbed the back of his head, looking down at the bed before he sneaked a glance at me, “I could sleep in the living room if you don’t want to share a bed with me.”
“Yeah, that’s cool with me.” I said in a serious tone, watching as Mingi paused for a second, looking surprised that I was about to make him sleep on the sofa. But to my surprise, he said nothing else as he went to pick up his pillow, making me chuckle, “I’m just fucking with you, Mings, you don’t have to sleep on the sofa, it looks uncomfortable for a tall person either way. It’s not my first time sleeping next to a guy, you know…”
Mingi chuckled, trying to hide his face as he turned around, his cheeks slightly flushed, “Ah, right, I forgot you had a dickhead boyfriend that made you hate men—”
“That’s not completely true.” I cut him off, crossing my arms in front of my chest defensively, “I mean, he was a dickhead, but it’s not just his fault, you know.”
It felt weird bashing Yunho all of a sudden, especially since Mingi was unknowingly talking about his best friend. I didn’t want him to say something that he’d regret if he ever were to find out my ex is his best friend, it just didn’t feel right.
“You really think all men are like that, huh?” Mingi raised an eyebrow as he pulled the covers back and plopped down on his bed, bouncing on the mattress as he stared at me expectantly. I gulped and shuffled closer, feeling nervous again as his eyes were glued to my form, perhaps lingering a bit too much on the t-shirt and sweatpants I was wearing. I slowly sat on his bed, struggling to breath regularly as Mingi’s familiar scent was even stronger now, vanilla mixed with something flowery, the softener he used, no doubt. If anyone would’ve told me two months ago that I’d be sharing a bed with Mingi, in his apartment, I would’ve laughed in their face and suggested a visit to the psychic ward. But right now, it was as real as it could get, and I subtly had to pinch my arm to make sure I wasn’t dreaming, or hallucinating in a drunken stupor. But I wasn’t drunk anymore, hadn’t been for a while now, and the shower too made sure to sober me up completely. My alcohol tolerance was pretty good, and the key for me to remain drunk was continuously drinking, once I stopped, an hour tops and I was all sobered up no matter how much I had drunk previously.
“Most are.” I muttered as I shimmied my bare feet underneath the cold covers, hiding them underneath as they always got cold rather quickly. Mingi chuckled as he adjusted himself as well, pulling up the covers to our waists as he turned his head to look over at me. Silence settled over us and I chewed on my bottom lip, watching from the corner of my eyes as his eyes bore into the side of my face as he bit the inside of his cheek. He seemed to be mulling over something as he raised his left hand and rubbed at his chin, pressing his fingers against his lip. Overwhelmed with the memory of his lips pressing so close to mine, I flopped backwards and prayed for the covers of his bed to swallow me up and hand me over to the monster underneath his bed. But that, obviously, didn’t happen as Mingi gulped rather loudly, laying down too on his side as he first adjusted the covers, pulling it up to our chests.
“Well, I suppose we’re both tired.” He whispered and I hummed, trying to calm the frantic beating of my heart as the room was suddenly coated into darkness as Mingi switched the lamp off. I released a long breath as quietly as I could as Mingi lay on his back, mirroring my position, as we stared up at his dark ceiling. He raised his hands and intertwined them as he let them rest over his chest, and I raised one arm and placed it over my head as I started twirling a strand of my hair. I couldn’t lay still and I feared Mingi could hear the annoying way my heart was racing, making me feel too warm under the thick covers. His scent was too strong like this, and as I turned my head to the right, facing away from Mingi, I was alarmed to find the pillow smelling strongly of the guy laying next to me in bed. Mingi sighed, although I suppose he meant to do it silently as he stuttered mid-breath and paused, making me chew on my bottom lip as I tried not to laugh. Everything about this was so awkward, it made my skin crawl as I couldn’t take it anymore.
“You know,” I spoke up, voice shaky for some reason, and I felt Mingi’s head turn as he looked at me despite the darkness of the room, “I never asked why your band name is Noir Zenith.”
“Yeah, you didn’t,” Mingi chuckled, making me raise my eyebrows as I turned my head to look at him, “you were too busy shitting on me to care about something so insignificant.”
“I—that’s not—” I groaned and Mingi snickered as I closed my eyes, pressing the heel of my palm into them, “Okay, you’re right. And that was rather assholey of me, so—now I’m genuinely interested.”
“Wow,” Mingi breathed, grinning from ear to ear as I opened my eyes, finding his beaming with something I couldn’t exactly understand, “you actually admitted to being an asshole to me?!”
“I’m not saying it again, so savour it while you can, pretty boy—” Massive fuck. The silence that settled upon us again was mortifying and I turned my head away, contemplating about rolling out of his bed and walking myself over to the sofa to sleep on for the night. I couldn’t face Mingi, and maybe it was better as his tone was laced with smugness and excitement.
“Pretty boy, huh?” He snickered, and I groaned loudly for him to hear, “First you admit I’m hot, then that I’m somewhat attractive, and now that I’m a pretty boy?! I feel like I’m living every man’s dream over here—”
“I think I have asked you a question, Song Mingi.” I snapped as I turned to lay on my side to face him, eyes narrowed at a smirking Mingi, only making him look smugger than he was before, “Don’t change the subject.”
“It’s a little hard when a gorgeous girl calls me pretty boy—” I groaned loudly, pressing my hands against my ears as Mingi started cackling, kicking his legs as if he was a little boy. My eyebrows furrowed as I gave him an incredulous look, making him giggle as he suddenly turned onto his side too, coming face to face with me. I gasped quietly, our faces just a little bit too close for comfort, but Mingi quickly shuffled slightly backwards, making me release a quiet breath as my heart was racing for the nth time at this point tonight.
“Fine, fine, I’ll stop.” Mingi grinned as his left hand settled between us, laying palm down against the mattress. I could only hope he didn’t notice my eyes linger on his painted nails as his fingers were ring free for the first time since we’ve known each other, “As you might have realized, I’m the founder of the band, and despite Seonghwa, Wooyoung and I being a team, I knew what I wanted my band’s name to be before I even met them.”
I hummed as I listened closely to Mingi, resting my hands underneath my head, completely ignoring the fact that the pinkie of my right hand was lightly brushing against Mingi’s forefinger, “Noir means black in French, right? And thus, I associate it with darkness and pain, yearning for something you no longer have, loneliness, and fear. Zenith, meanwhile, means the highest point reached in the heavens by a celestial body or simply a culminating point. In the context of our band’s name, however, I use it as the highest point of when you feel hurt, when the darkness gets to you, the point where it feels like there’s no return anymore, that nothing and nobody can help you anymore. The first song I ever wrote—you know it, you’ve heard it—is the lowest I’ve ever been. Ever since then, after experimenting enough, I have realized I am inspired most at my highest—or maybe some would say lowest—points, no matter what I’m feeling. I write best when I’m feeling the most…is basically what I’m trying to say. I hope I’m making sense; this is the first time besides my friends that someone’s asked what the name means…”
I took a deep breath and slowly released it, feeling an immense warmth spread through my chest, close to the feeling of adoration and admiration. I gulped, pondering whether I should do what my body desired to do, and in the end, the intrusive thoughts won over as I slowly sneaked my palm over the back of Mingi’s hand, holding onto it gently, “It makes sense, I know what you’re saying.”
I kept my eyes on our hands as I felt warm all over, too shy to suddenly look at Mingi as he lowly hummed, flipping his hand around to interlace our fingers, “When my emotions get too overwhelming, I grab my sketchbook, or a canvas, and start painting. It doesn’t matter what I’m feeling, the point is to empty my mind and let through whatever it is I’m experiencing. My goal, mostly, is to numb my mind and silence my thoughts.”
“Do you often feel overwhelmed?” Mingi’s voice was quiet, shaky a bit and my eyes snapped up, taking in his face as he was biting his lower lip, eyebrows furrowed. He looked troubled, but somehow serene at the same time, like he was thinking of something he couldn’t make sense of yet.
“Yes.” I chuckled and shrugged, absentmindedly rubbing circles against his knuckle, “My mind is a mess at all times, Mings, it takes a lot to silence it. Especially when I’m dealing with emotions that I don’t know how to navigate. I’m afraid of feeling too much because I fear it will consume me, turn me headless, and make me fall deeper into that feeling, blinding me to the faults of the other person.”
“You’re afraid to fall in love.” Mingi whispered and I gulped, never having said it out loud before, but also never having had anyone else point it out. Not even Seulgi, who knew me like the back of her hand. I nodded, our gazes meeting as Mingi had an understanding look in his eyes, as if he knew the feeling.
“I hate to admit it, but I’m afraid of many things.” I muttered, lightening the atmosphere as Mingi chuckled, giving a squeeze to my hand as I hid my face in the pillow, giggling quietly.
“I knew you were just trying to impress people with your fearless bravado.” Mingi teased, narrowing his eyes playfully as I scoffed.
“But I am fearless, it seems like you don’t know me too well.” I raised my eyebrows at Mingi as he gasped, feigning hurt, “Impressing others is the last thing on my mind.”
“Perhaps,” Mingi hummed, suddenly turning serious and making my cheeks heat up with the intense way he was looking at me, “but you certainly know how to leave an impression on someone.”
I paused, mouth opening to say something, but I found myself speechless. Instead, I felt myself blush harder, and I was thankful for the darkness as I knew Mingi couldn’t see the degree of my deep blush despite being close to my face, “Also, you’ve started calling me Mings. I actually love that nickname; Yunho sometimes calls me that.”
Yunho. Something coiled deep in my heart again as the lump was back in my throat and I hummed, gently untangling our hands as I turned back onto my back, running my fingers through my hair. Mingi didn’t move, eyes boring into the side of my face with a confused look in his eyes. I tried not to withdraw myself, but it was hard when I was reminded that the two were best friends, “The little dirt you always have on your cheekbone when you perform—”
“It’s my signature!” Mingi groaned loudly, flopping back onto his back like a child as he kicked with his legs again. I chuckled and bit my lower lip, suddenly realizing that teasing him was rather hilarious.
“It says ‘Fix on’, why?” I giggled as I interlaced my hands behind my nape, resting my head on them.
“Ah, so you have seen it?” Mingi paused for dramatic effect and I nodded, curious to hear his answer, “Well, it’s a lot sillier than the name of our band. I suppose it’s something I wish for others to do, to focus on me when I’m up on the stage, to fixate on me, you know?”
“Sounds like something you’d want, yes.” I muttered, and felt Mingi painlessly kick at my ankle under the convers, making me laugh, “What? You love attention, Mingi, and you can’t even deny it.”
“Well, fine.” Mingi huffed and I glanced at him from the corner of my eyes to see him pouting, “Is that so bad?!”
“Of course not,” I chuckled, turning my head as I fought the glare of my face as my thoughts wandered back to the chick that’s been all over him all night long, “except when you can’t set clear boundaries with your baboons, you know?”
A laugh bubbled past Mingi’s lips, shaking him as my eyebrows furrowed, not finding what I said funny at all, “I still can’t believe you call our fangirls baboons.”
“It’s what they are.” I muttered under my breath with a grimace, turning my head as Mingi suddenly turned his to face me.
“Well, they are nice and they’ve actually helped us become more well-known,” Mingi explained, sounding rather grateful, making me feel bad that I couldn’t stand them, “So, I’m grateful to them.”
“Especially to the blonde one that always clings to you—” I realized my slip up when it was already too late as I felt Mingi press up onto his elbow, leaning a bit over my body as I refused to look at him.
“Doll, besides knowing her name and what she looks like, I have no idea who she is.” He said, eyebrows furrowed as his eyes bore into mine, “And I have no intentions of getting to know her past that level. Like you said, boundaries exist, and I’ve made mine clear with her.”
“That’s why she dies at the sight of you, and is all over you whenever she can.” I huffed and Mingi sighed, reaching out with his left hand as he adjusted my hair, making me freeze.
“I don’t like her.” Hearing him say that made my heart skip a beat, and I averted my eyes, feeling rather pleased to hear him say that, “She’s not the type of girl I’m into.”
I wanted to know what type of girls he was into, but before I could let my tongue slip up again, I nodded wordlessly and searched for a clock. It was on his desk, facing us, and my eyes slightly widened when I realized it was close to 3am, “Let’s go to sleep.”
“Sure.” Mingi whispered, smiling slightly as he settled back in the bed, staring up at the ceiling as I slithered my arms underneath the covers, closing my eyes. It was silent in the room once again, not awkward at all anymore, yet it felt like there was room to say more. I wanted to say more, but I was afraid I would say something that I wasn’t ready yet to voice. What would Yunho think if he knew I was with his best friend? Worst of all, what will Mingi say if he finds out I’m Yunho’s ex? I was scared of both answers, and until I was completely ready to face the consequences of my own actions, I would stall and enjoy my limited time with Mingi. My gut feeling told me it wouldn’t last for too long, the good and happy, it never did. The thoughts weighted heavy on my mind and I released a long sigh at the same time as Mingi, making the ends of my mouth curve up. Seems like I wasn’t the only one plagued with late night thoughts, unable to go to sleep just yet. Deciding that it wouldn’t work with my head so full and my skin still buzzing from being this close to Mingi, in his clothes, in his bed, surrounded by his familiar scent, I sat up abruptly.
“I can’t sleep.”
“Me neither.” I had barely finished my sentence as Mingi’s eyes flew open, looking at me with a borderline desperate expression, “Kitchen raid?”
“Kitchen raid.” I nodded and showed him a thumbs up as we hurriedly got out of bed, apparently making it a race of who would reach the kitchen first as Mingi failed to wear his flip flops, rushing after me as I yanked his door open with a giggle, and toppled outside as he tried to yank me back by the t-shirt I was wearing. Knocking into my side—but gently—Mingi passed me and cackled mockingly as he reached the round table first, giving me a smug look.
“Did you think you could race me in my own apartment and win?” For a second, I saw Yunho in him as he stood grinning as if this victory meant anything. Yunho was insanely competitive, making everything a game while we were together, often times exhausting me with them; they weren’t my favourite activity. Suddenly, the room was flooded with light as Mingi switched it on.
“What do you have, pretty boy?” I decided to speak up and ignore his teasing, pushing thoughts of Yunho to the back of my mind as a thoughtful look crossed Mingi’s face.
“Well, if you’re hungry we can whip up some eggs or like make a sandwich?” He rubbed the back of his head, not looking too confident, “Or, uh, maybe we could drink something?”
“As long as it’s not alcohol, sure, I’m not hungry either way.” I said as I walked further inside the kitchen, making Mingi’s eyebrows furrow as he turned and walked towards the sink, opening the cupboard above it. He rummaged around and I decided to sit on the counter, swinging my legs as I placed my hands underneath my thighs.
“I have hot chocolate!” Mingi exclaimed in triumph, and I chuckled as he turned around with a grin, holding two plastic bags containing chocolate powder.
“I’d like one serving then, kind sir.” I bowed my head mockingly, making Mingi’s eyebrows raise.
“You’re rather generous with nicknames tonight, Y/N.” He gave me a teasing look as I rolled my eyes, “Is it just the alcohol talking, perhaps?”
“I’m not drunk, Mingi.” I chuckled, watching him move around the kitchen, grabbing mugs and pouring water into them to heat up, “I have a high tolerance.”
“But you were drunk when you were dancing with that guy.” Mingi muttered, grimacing as I narrowed my eyes at him.
“I was tipsy, and I quite enjoyed dancing with Chan before you decided to bother us.” I pursed my lips, giving him a pointed look as he stole a glance at me while placing the mugs in the microwave to heat the water up.
“I don’t have whipping cream.” He said as he leaned against the counter, crossing his arms in front of his chest as the microwave hummed quietly. I couldn’t help but smile as he remembered how I liked serving my hot chocolate.
“It’s fine, I think it would be too sweet right now.” I said as Mingi nodded, his gaze becoming intense again as he watched me sit on his counter. I cleared my throat and looked away, pulling my hands from underneath my thighs to cross them over my body in a comforting manner.
“Well, when guys usually dance with you, they want something more too, you know?” Mingi’s voice had dropped a few octaves, and I looked over with narrowed eyes as the microwave dinged.
“Then do you want something more from me too?” I fired back, giving him a displeased look, “You danced with me too, not just Chan.”
Mingi froze as he had just opened the microwave’s little door, eyebrows furrowing as he shot me an unimpressed glance, “What I wanted was for you to be safe and not taken advantage of, Y/N.”
I gulped, suddenly feeling guilty as Mingi looked slightly hurt by my assumption as he took the mugs from the microwave, and closed the little door a little harsher. I couldn’t help but remember the near kiss, and wonder if he hadn’t done it because he thought I was drunk. I bit my bottom lip as I sighed, watching Mingi’s back as he poured the powder into the warm water.
“I—I didn’t mean to assume anything like that, I’m sorry.” I spoke up, licking my lips as Mingi still hadn’t faced me despite reaching for a teaspoon to stir our drinks, “I know you wouldn’t take advantage of me and were only looking out for me, but Chan was just happy to meet someone that was his senior and shared his major.”
Mingi turned as he grabbed the mugs and then approached me, “I guess we have both overreacted tonight, then.”
“Yes.” I chuckled and took the mug he handed me, “Thank you.”
We took a sip of our hot chocolates in unison, humming at the sweet taste bloomed on our tastebuds, giving each other a pleased nod as I took one more sip, blowing on it slightly as it was too warm, “Since we’re already speaking about it, what did you think of our performance?”
I lowered the mug from my lips and watched as Mingi took another sip, a rather large one, not afraid of burning his tongue, “I think you were really good, all three of you. Like I have once said before, the three of you work well together, your voices blending in a way I haven’t heard before. It’s really beautiful, actually, you capture your audience since the very first note you play.”
Mingi hid the huge smile stretching onto his lips behind his mug, averting his eyes shyly, “What did you think of the lyrics? I’ve written the song around two years ago.”
It was my time to look away shyly, my quick heartbeat not foreign anymore at this point, “They were—poetic, almost. I find your lyrics deep and—genuine, like anyone could relate to it, and I think that’s not something you achieve easily. But I mean, what do I know, I’m just a fine arts major.”
Mingi chuckled as he took another sip of his hot chocolate, and then placed the mug on the counter, resting his left hand close to my knee as he leaned his hip against the edge of the surface. I took a small sip as I tried to stop my eyes from checking him out again, but it seemed rather hard as this was the first time I’ve seen Mingi in casual clothing, looking comfortable, and rather soft. It was weird, but somehow, he looked really good, and I felt myself flush at my own thoughts, averting my eyes as Mingi raised an eyebrow questioningly, “I appreciate all feedback, music major or not, after all, you are also part of my audience. And what matters to me most, is how my audience perceives my music and lyrics, if the message I want them to hear goes through.”
“Don’t fret over it so much, Mings.” I chuckled, holding the mug with both hands as I lowered it into my lap, “The crowd loves you, and it was pretty packed down there tonight. You’ll make it big one day, have more faith in yourself.”
Mingi bit his bottom lip, his hand lightly brushing against my knee, “Hongjoong is a very influential person in our world, he’s even composed music before, so sometimes he stops by to help. He’s working on signing us up with a record deal, actually.”
“What?!” I exclaimed excitedly, eyes widening as Mingi fought a grin off his lips by licking them, “That is amazing, Mingi!”
“Yeah, I finally feel like I’m headed somewhere with my life.” He whispered abashed, looking down at the floor as I smiled widely, feeling happy for him. It was nice to see him so happy and excited for what was to come, coming to the sudden realization that I hated seeing Mingi hurt and mad—especially if he felt like that because of me. I didn’t want him hurting because of me, that’s not what friends do.
“I think you looked very hot tonight.” And once again, I blurted out something I didn’t mean to. Mingi’s head snapped up as he looked at me, eyes widening just a little as his eyebrows slightly twitched, he looked like a puppy somehow, it was almost alarming, “I mean, uh, your costume—it was really edgy. You know, giving rockstar vibes and whatnot.”
Mingi hummed, looking down as I took a large sip of the hot chocolate, licking my lips and averting my eyes as Mingi looked back up at me with a thoughtful look on his face. His eyebrows had slightly furrowed now, bottom lip between his teeth, and I couldn’t help but let my eyes linger on the soft looking skin. My heart had started racing for some unknown reason again as I looked back up into his eyes, gulping upon seeing Mingi’s sharp eyes become more intense, more determined that they were a second ago. My fingers tightened around the mug as I cleared my throat, waiting to see what Mingi would do next. He licked his lips and his eyes fell a little lower on my face before he slightly stepped closer, his hand pressing into my knee now, “I really want to kiss you right now, Y/N.”
I froze, feeling my muscles stiffen as he voiced his desire, my heart racing beyond the point of return, making me feel warm despite wearing a t-shirt—his t-shirt. I gulped and bit my lower lip, eyes searching his face for any signs of amusement or joke, but he was dead serious. And I was dead serious too as I pushed away all doubts and prejudices, voice breathy as our gazes bore into each other’s, “Then kiss me.”
The mug barely touched the surface of the counter when Mingi’s large palms cupped my cheeks, his eyes switching between my right and left one as I gulped, tilting my head back just a little bit. I felt nervous but excited at the same time, and my lips parted as Mingi’s lips pulled into the tiniest smile, before he finally closed the distance between our faces. His lips were warm, and soft—plush as they were slightly plumper than mine, pressing against mine gently, softly as if he didn’t want to scare me away. I appreciated his gesture big time, hearing my own heartbeats in my ears as I grabbed the sides of his t-shirt, needing to anchor myself in something. Mingi seemed to grow more confident as I pressed my lips back against his, more determined and less soft as he had been at first, his lower lip slotting between mine perfectly as I latched onto it, sucking it between my lips, making Mingi exhale through his nose, his grip on my cheeks turning firmer. My own hands released his t-shirt in order to travel up his back, gently tracing his firm muscles through his t-shirt, so that my arms could settle around his shoulders. Mingi’s right hand pressed into my lower back as I allowed him to guide me lower on the counter, welcoming him between my legs as our bodies pressed flushed together, our warmth mingling with each other as Mingi’s scent was the only thing I could smell on me and around us.
His lips tasted like mint, mingled with hot chocolate as they lazily moved against mine, taking his time to savor the kiss instead of turning it rushed and messy as I had expected him to kiss. Not that I wondered often what Mingi kissed like, but that didn’t matter anymore as this was the real deal. My skin tingled anywhere he touched, and I was grateful that I was sitting on the counter as my knees would’ve gone weak when he held the side of my neck, thumb stroking my chin every time our lips moved, covering my skin in goosebumps. I leaned up as much as I could, allowing Mingi to tilt my head back more by the hand he had on my neck, my fingers tangling into the soft platinum strands brushing against his nape. A sigh left his lips at the motion, and I nipped at his bottom lip as I felt my body awaken with a fire I have never felt before. Nobody’s kissed me like this before, so gently yet passionately at the same time, just wanting to feel everything and savour the moment for as long as possible. My hands trembled as I chased after his lips when he dared pull back even the slightest bit, capturing his bottom lip between my teeth as I bit down it, but not to the point it was hurtful, feeling painted fingernails dig into my lower back through the fabric.
Mingi’s nose nuzzled against mine as he pressed an open-mouthed kiss against my lips, making my heart swell and almost explode out of my chest as I pulled him even more into myself, to the point it was turning painful. I was sure he could feel my heartbeat against his own chest as it was frantic and making me struggle to intake any air, but that was also Mingi’s doing as he was stealing away every breath I tried to inhale. My knees locked him into place as I squeezed them against his hips, prompting Mingi’s lips to press harder against mine, more insistently. It felt like every single emotion that we tried to suppress and hide, suddenly came to the surface, speaking volumes as our lips struggled to find an even rhythm again, growing hotter and a little more rushed, desire blossoming in both of our chests. My lungs had started begging for air, but I couldn’t bring myself to pull back, to pull away from Mingi, my body welcoming him in like no one before, my mind silent for the first time when I was around someone. There were no questions or doubts running through my mind, just the endorphins that came from kissing the man I have started to adore. Finding it hard to breathe too, Mingi pulled back just barely, his lips pressing more kisses against mine as our chests heaved, trying to inhale in air, our breaths meddling as we breathed in each other’s oxygen. I felt warm all over, jittery and giddy, as Mingi’s forehead pressed against mine, making me exhale shakily as our lips brushed against each other’s just barely. He was breathing through his lips hard, both hands cupping my cheeks again as he gently rubbed his thumbs against my flushed skin.
I tried to find peace again and calm my erratic heartbeats, my eyelashes fluttering open as my gaze ran over Mingi’s elated expression, bottom lip between his teeth before he was breathing through his lips again. I admired the beauty of his perfectly shaped face, naturally sun-kissed, scars from his acne faded, some new ones redder. His tall nose looked sharper from up-close and the tip slightly turned more to the side, his cheeks flushed probably as much as mine. His mole underneath his eye was more visible now that he didn’t have any makeup on, and before I could talk down myself, I leaned my chin up and pressed a soft kiss against his beauty mark, Mingi’s breath catching in his throat. I smiled and cupped his cheeks too, his eyes fluttering open as I couldn’t help but grin widely at him. Mingi’s brown eyes were warm and shone with a glimmer that wasn’t there before, slightly teary, but before I could get worried over it, he chuckled as he pressed another chaste kiss against my lips. I smiled widely and nuzzled our noses together, feeling joy flood my body like never before.
“I don’t know about you,” Mingi whispered, voice deeper and raspier, “but I am actually sleepy now.”
I chuckled and released Mingi’s face, feeling a little disappointed when he did the same to me, “Actually, me too.”
And it wasn’t a lie, I could feel the lack of sleep finally catch up to me as Mingi’s hands rubbed at my knees for a second before he pulled back, grabbing our unfinished hot chocolates as he walked towards the sink. I hopped off the counter as he quickly washed them, drying his hands in his sweatpants as he turned to face me. I knew my cheeks were still flushed, and I feared it wouldn’t go away for a while now as my lips tingled from Mingi’s kisses, body yearning for his warmth and comforting scent. All I wanted was to curl up against his chest and hug him until he became fed up with it, wanting to feel his lips against my skin as he whispered sweet nothing into my hair, into my ears. Alarmed by my own sudden desires, I marched towards the bedroom, Mingi following after me as he flipped the light switch.
My actions were hurried as I swiftly climbed into bed, pulling the covers up to my chin as I lay on my side, my back to Mingi as he settled in beside me, a lot calmer than me. I gulped, feeling the silence stretch on, not awkward but too silent, almost as if we should have said something. I pondered whether I should speak up and bring up the kiss, question what it meant for us, but Mingi suddenly started giggling, it becoming muffled as if he had pressed his hands against his mouth.
“What’s so funny?” I found myself asking, feeling the corners of my mouth tug up as Mingi’s deep giggles continued.
“I—” He paused, sucking in a deep breath as he made me silently laugh, “I fell on the stage, tonight. But it was dark, so nobody saw but Seonghwa.”
I couldn’t help but laugh loudly as I pressed my face into the pillow that smelled completely like Mingi, “You’re an idiot, you could’ve gotten hurt.”
“No, I could’ve completely fell on Seonghwa’s drums and ruined the performance!” His words made the both of cackle like mad people, chests shaking with laughter, and tummies hurt by the time we managed to calm down. Mingi became quiet as I chuckled one last time, mouth hurting from how widely I was smiling. Mingi took a deep breath and released it slowly, probably finally settling down, determined to sleep, “Good night.”
“Good night.” My voice was quiet and small, and I gnawed on my lower lip as I braced myself for what I was about to do. Mustering up the last pieces of my courage, I suddenly turned and raised up onto my elbows, Mingi’s eyes flying open in fright as he didn’t expect my sudden movement. I leaned over him as he was laying on his back, and pressed a swift kiss against his lips, his eyes wide as I pulled back before he could turn it into more. I quickly rolled over and pulled the covers over my head, squeezing my eyes shut as all I wanted to do was scream and kick my legs, my heart hammering like crazy against my ribcage, cheeks on fire. I felt Mingi move around too, the quietest cough, and then the soles of his feet pressing against mine, making me fight against all demons in my body to lay still and will my heart to stop beating so God damn fast.
And how it connects to mine
I see in a different light
The objects of my desire』
Name: Salt Mushroom
Debut: Super Mario Galaxy 3
Everybody remembers when Super Mario Galaxy 3 launched worldwide for the Wii's immensely popular successor, the Nintendo Wii Too, blowing all of our collective minds with its flawless combination of the inviting and memorable atmosphere of the first entry in the series with the incredible 3D platforming of its immediate predecessor. But let's be honest, we've all seen Super Mario Galaxy 3 at the top of enough "Greatest Games of All Time" listicles by now. Today we're going to take a much more focused look at just one element which helped to make Galaxy 3 one of the greatest 3D platformers of all time, and one which hardly warrants such a lengthy introduction: the Salt Mushroom!
This item first appears somewhat late in the game, in the Briny Mine Galaxy mission Salt Mario Finds the Cure. You land on a small planetoid with some Gearmos who explain to you that the mine's been overrun with weird monsters! With a boost from a Launch Star, you propel yourself into a pipe, which takes you straight into the depths of the Briny Mine itself.
Sure enough, there's weird monsters all over the place! Excargot, to be precise! These heavily armored, tank-treaded snail creatures try to charge at Mario, leaving trails of slippery slime everywhere! But jump out of the way, and they'll go flying into the wall, causing the shell-like armor on their backs to shutter open, exposing the slimy pink skin inside. What's that? Why haven't I included an image of Excargot, an extraordinarily weird Mario enemy? Well, I mean, we've all seen it. It would be pretty redundant to show a picture, then, wouldn't it? Hm? Now you want to know why I've explained everything in such gratuitous detail thus far? I think you need to keep your voice down.
Anyway, if you try to attack this glaring weak spot with a stomp or a spin, Mario simply bounces off! Clearly, a power-up is in order. Collect the nearby ? Coin to summon the Salt Mushroom, and collect it to become...
With his newfound powers of star-spin-propelled salt-flinging, Mario can handily defeat the Excargot, and even walk with ease across their slime (and even across ice later on in the ever-iconic Slick Street Galaxy). But that's not all! The more time Mario spends as Salt Mario, the more his Hydration Meter decreases! His movement gradually becomes more sluggish, his jump height becoming shorter and weaker, all the while delivering his voice lines with that trademark Salt Mario hoarseness, and loudly rasping his parched lips when left idle, desperately pleading for water.
Of course, we all know that there is no water anywhere in the two levels where the Salt Mushroom is found, and we all know the grisly fate that awaits our plucky plumber when his Hydration Meter finally runs out. We've all seen it! Dozens of times! Hundreds, even! I think I speak for everyone when I say I could watch it happen forever and ever, and never stop laughing!
Needless to say, Salt Mario was a huge hit with fans, and Miyamoto has even cited the Salt Mushroom as his all-time favorite power-up. Some could say the Salt Mushroom has eclipsed even Mario himself in popularity, and many consider it to be the new face of the franchise! I mean, it's a hard claim to deny when we're three entries deep in the Salt Mushroom Rally series (yes, I'm counting Salt Mushroom Rally: Alkaline Abscondence as a discrete title from Salt Mushroom Rally: Alkaline Abscondence Deluxe, I'm not arguing with you about this). And with that, much like Mario's Hydration Meter, my material has finally run dry. You know what Mario would say in this situation? Of course you do! Say it with me, everybody! "HHHHHKKH, KHKKHHHHHHHHH, HHHHKKKKHKK!!!"
I know I am what I am, the mouth of the wolf the eyes of the lamb.
Konig integration to squad 141 had been quite stressful. As a lone wolf, entering a team, entirely constituted by a pack of wolves, he had been anxious. Fortunately, Price and the others had been kind, and after the first few days of weariness, especially from Ghost who clawed to his mate Soap like a demon hungry for a soul, he had settled in. When he realized Konig had no interest in him, he had calmed down, though Konig tried to remain a good few steps away from Soap through discussions.
So after six months, Konig could say he was part of the team. He felt quite at home. Price as the leader of the group seemed to put him at ease, his usual lone wolf demeanor kept in check. He had been thrilled to see that Price had found a mate, after coming back from a long solo mission. Konig had remained respectfully away as well, making sure that the remaining mating frenzy of Price wouldn't overspill.
No, what he hadn't expected, was that with her being part of the pack, she'd introduce you. A dear friend who just transferred from another base. They sat in the common room, everyone laughing and eating snacks.
Konig sat beside you, the big man towering you. You threw a few glances at him once in a while, glances that he could feel on him. He tried to glance at you once in a while too. He was having a hard time focusing on the current conversation. You… smelt so sweet. He wondered how you'd taste- Konig's eyes widened. No! What was that?
"Konig?" Price called.
Konig snapped his head towards the captain, blinking.
"Are you alright?" He asked, a glint of something in his eyes.
"Ah, ja! I'm alright" he quickly answered, German accent tainting his voice. He rubbed the back of his neck, an awkward laugh past his lips.
That had been the first distraction. After a good week of settling in, where he had watched from far away, sniffing a few times your scent that made him want to pop out his tail and frantically wag it. So he had tried to simply step back. He was acting like a pup in rut, and it simply wouldn't do.
He walked into the empty common area as he closed his eyes and sighed. It took a fraction of a second to have your delicious scent ensnare him. He immediately looked at you as you sat on one of the couches, book in hand. You had glanced up and he nodded curtly at you before going to grab a cold drink from the fridge.
"Konig?"
He froze, eyes staring inside of the open fridge. You had called him. By his name. His ears almost popped out at the sound of you standing from the couch and stepping closer to him. He immediately straightened himself once he could feel you close enough. You looked up at him, arms crossed.
"Konig…" you repeated.
"Yes liebling?" He blushed under his hood at the pet name that had rushed through his mouth quicker than through his brain.
"I.. why…" you tried to find your words. He closed the fridge, fully turning to you. "Did I do something wrong?"
He blinked.
"Bitte?" You frowned, confused at the foreign language.
"Hum.."
He noticed. Chuckling a bit.
"I.. you didn't do anything…" he answered finally.
"But. You've been avoiding me… is it… that you don't like me?" You tried again.
His beautiful blue eyes widened. How could he possibly tell you that he was avoiding you because your scent made him want to cuddle with you as you pet him.
"N..no… I'm sorry. I've been… distracted. You're okay.." he reassured.
You seemed to relax, throwing a soft smile at him before turning back towards the couch. He watched closely how you rolled into yourself, your legs underneath you and you picked up your book. He had a hard time thinking. The lingering scent of you, the sight of you adorably sitting on the couch. He had to shake his head to bring himself back to reality. He picked up a cold drink before taking a long sip.
So, after that. He went back to talking to you. He'd love to walk beside you, watching your small frame by his side as your voice blessed his ears. Oh god he loved it. It quickly became obvious that you two were close. Sometimes you'd even slip into his dorm to watch a movie with him or simply read on his bed as he worked on a report. It felt odd to watch him, sweatpants and t-shirt. Your eyes wandered to the bulge in his pants before quickly looking away, embarrassed.
After a good two months you were almost inseparable. If someone needed one of you they knew they'd simply had to find the other. Konig had grown fond of you. You had both gotten more touchy. You'd hug him often and cuddle while watching movies. You had fallen asleep in his arms a few times in his bed, Price scolding the both of you, calling you both an HR nightmare. It didn't stop you from sneaking into his room. Konig had first been hesitant, refusing to put you in trouble but nothing a little nuzzling couldn't convince.
The first time you had popped out your black dotted ears and fluffy white tail Konig had almost looked at you through a trance.
"K-konig?" You worried. His pupils had dilated as he watched closely your ears twitch. His eyes quickly wrinkled, a huge smile forming underneath the hood as he begged to touch them and pet them. You had complied and he had absolutely been addicted to the softness and smallness. It made you giggle. You often found yourself letting them show as much as you could in the privacy of his dorm.
Him, however, it had been a slip of control. You were both on the bed, a movie on the background as you wrestled for the last chocolate bar. He could easily take it, but he found the way your small hands touched him and his large ones roamed your body was too tempting. He has ended in between your legs, hovering you as he tickled you, your laughter filling his ears. You had started kicking away, trying to turn and roll away, but in a synchronized movement your hips and his met, his obvious large member grinding against your clit perfecty.
A startled moan had escaped your lips. Your hands rushed to cover your mouth as you looked up at the mountain of a man with wide eyes. You were both frozen, eyes staring into each other's, just your quickened breaths. You had blinked before realizing two things poking at his hood. You had relaxed, curiosity taking control as one of your hands rested flat on your chest and the other reached up.
It had the effect of a cold shower for Konig as he instinctively grabbed your wrist before your fingers could think of the touch. You had yelped from the strength of his grip. His eyes flashed dangerously, red shine in them, something rare even for a werewolf. He eyed you like a prey before rolling his hips against you again, making you whine before biting your lip.
"Konig…" you called.
It seemed to make things worse as he rolled his hips again, grinding slightly now, is cock only hardening. Your legs tightened around his waist as you tried not to moan. No.. he had to snap out of it. You felt the fur of his tail at your feet.
"K..Konig, snap out of it!" You called, louder.
His tail wagged at the sound of your voice. You weren't exactly scared. God you even felt the way your body warmed under his touch, your cunt growing wetter under his grip and the grinding.
"Konig!" Your voice rang louder.
This time, a growl that resembled a roar echoed in the hallway, making Konig blink. His eyes had immediately fallen back into their beautiful blue as he looked shocked by his own actions. He let go of you as if your skin was burning magma. Abruptly stood to take various steps back.
"es tut mir wirklich leid…" he quickly spoke before exiting his room in a hurry. The smell of Price in the hallway was strong as you closed your eyes.
Konig was furious at himself for letting himself lose control so much. He had scared you, he was sure. Price scolded him, growling in his voice that showed dominance, trying to reason with Konig. He had decided to avoid you for a while until a mission fell on the table. Fortunately you both knew that you could remain professional. Talking to each other for nothing more than missions briefings and gear Control.
It was hell for him. And unbestowed to him, it was also hell for you. You wanted to reassure him that it was ok. He hadn't hurt you or scared you. That deep down you kinda wanted it too. It was simply… too soon. Perhaps the fact that you both avoided gazes and voices was what created the upcoming chaos.
The battlefield was a dangerous place, but you were both used to it. No. What was not usual was how much Konig had his mind set on you. He kept gazing at you, making sure you were ok. It wasn't exactly compromising the mission. It was simply making his beast claw at the iron bars of its cage.
"Konig, focus!" Ghost hissed at him.
Konig frowned before turning his head forwards. Yes. He had to focus. Until you found yourselves in an empty building, just him and you. Until that enemy jumped on you, combat knife in hand, so close to your throat. It was pure instinct, sheer force that rushed through him. He had turned in a flash, throwing the man across the room. When the man's team arrived he lunged at them, claws and teeth ripping through skin and flesh. When every single one of them laid as corpses on the floor you gently spoke.
"Konig… it's over." You called out.
He had turned to you, remaining far away. He looked terrifying. Blood coating his maw and claws. Splatter tainting his fur. Your strong, frightening beast. You had raised your hands towards him to invite him closer to you as you still sat on the ground. He had closed the space to you, wrapping you in his arms as he lifted you into his lap. His deep low growl was constant, fear and rage making his heart pound in his ears. His beautiful blue eyes were gone, red irises fixated on you.
His head had lowered to your neck where little droplets of blood lingered from the enemy's blade. Long licks against the wound made you shiver.
"Konig.. I'm ok.. it's nothing, I promi- ah~" the end of your sentence was lost in a moan as he nibbled softly. A shock of electricity ran through your nervous system. He was so close. So close to marking you.
"K..Konig…"
He was lost again. But this was the fear of losing you. His mind wasn't set on marking you, you knew it. But that's all you had in mind. And you needed to hide it from him.
Thankfully the team arrived quickly after, founding the big beast holding you close in the middle of a massacre. Price had to coax him out into letting you go as you promised him you'd stay by his side for the rest of the time. You had the Intel in any way, all you needed was to evac. He had turned back but his eyes were still red, fangs still poking out. You had never left his side as Price and the team constantly kept an eye on him.
Returning from the mission, Konig had been presented in front of Price and Laswell. He had been suspended for a few weeks, which he completely understood. He had remained with price after Laswell left.
"I know you're close to her. But is there something more?" Price asked.
Konig didn't answer, simply staring at the pen on Price's desk.
"Konig." He called firmly. "Are you imprinting on her?" .
Konig swallowed. Was he? No… he couldn't. You deserved better. So much better than just a monstrous beast like him.
"It doesn't matter… I'm going to step back." Konig mumbled.
Price sighed loudly.
"If you imprinted on her, walking away isn't going to help at all." Price reminded.
"I know. But as long as she's not imprinted on me, I'll be fine staying away."
Price shook his head but the conversation ended. Konig had gotten up and left the base an hour later.
You were furious when you saw him from across the bar. It had been two weeks. No text, no calls, no nothing. You finally fell eye to eye in the middle of a team's night out. You had watched him stand from the booth when the boys walked towards it. You had stopped in the middle of the room, unsure of what to do. You headed for the bar instead, sitting on a stool.
Price had noticed the hurt in Konig's eyes immediately. He wanted to smack the large man for being so stubborn. He was scared to hurt you, yes. Price had been scared to hurt his mate too. But sometimes it is so much worse to stay away.
The night went on as smoothly as it could. Konig kept throwing glances at you at the bar where you sat with Price's mate, your friend.
"Konig, just go see her mate," Gaz said.
Konig looked at the men sitting before shaking his head.
"You're so stubborn." Ghost added.
"You should listen to them…" Price's mate said as she approached the booth, closer to her man. "Before another tries to mark her…" she finished.
Konig's head snapped towards where you sat. A boy was talking to you, smaller than him. He was about to stand when Ghost and Price pushed him back down.
"Calm yourself down." Price's eyes flashed yellow.
Konig realized his eyes were back to their hunting shade, fangs grazing at his lip. He was losing control again.
"She's not yours." Ghost added.
Price glared at Ghost as Konig instantly pushed past the both of them to walk towards you.
You noticed the chaos arriving from the corner of your eyes. Konig striding towards you as Price and Ghost tried to catch up with him. You could see the red shiny eyes under the hood. Shit…
You took a step back from the man who was trying to find his friend in the same bar. Konig stood next to you in a flash, his hand, a hint of claws, gripping at the back of your shirt.
"Konig." You warned.
His bright eyes fell on you. You felt yourself crumble under the predatory gaze. God did you feel warmer all of a second.
"Sorry.. I… was just looking for…" the boy stuttered. You put your hands on Konig's chest.
"It's fine. Your friend is in the bathroom, went there a few minutes ago." You told him, the man nodding before walking away.
You turned to Konig, crossing your arms.
"What are you doing?" You asked with a frown.
"Why were you talking with him?" He asked, soft growls behind his words.
Price and Ghost remained far enough to not listen to you two but close enough to intervene.
"He asked me a question." You glared. "What's it with you who I talk to anyway?" You snapped.
"Y/N.." he started.
"You left. Why do you care?" You snapped again.
Price shook his head, knowing exactly where this was going.
Underneath his hood, Konig clenched his jaw. God he wanted to show you. Make you understand how much he cared, how much you meant to him. How unbearable it had been to be away from you, how he only came tonight because he knew you'd be here too.
"You know what. Whatever. I'm going home captain." You said, grabbing your coat before walking away.
When you walked through the door, Gaz stood behind Konig.
"Konig, I swear to God if you don't ask her out I fucking will."
Konig glares at him before something in his mind clicks. Images of you in someone else's arms, kissing another's lips. Letting another's cock-
He rushed past the boys, hoping to catch up to you. As soon as the air of the night hit him he looked around, seeing you on your phone, probably calling for a cab. He walked to his car, jumping inside, speeding to stop in front of you with a screech.
"Get in the car." He ordered through the open passenger window.
You frowned, crossing your arms again. You were going to say something, brat at him, but he purposely growled softly.
"Don't make me step out of the car to bring you in." He warned, German dripping in his voice.
You swallowed, something about that growl making you shiver delightfully. Konig was a sweetheart. He'd cuddle and pamper you with anything you need, anytime. But this part of him. The one he let out on the battlefield, it made something kneel deep in you.
You rolled your eyes, pushing the car door open before sitting in. Konig lunged forward grabbing your seat belt and putting it on, tightly pulling on it to make sure it was secure. It made your heart skip a beat. That, and the way he raced away towards your place.
"Konig. What are you doing?" You scolded again.
"I'm taking you back to your house." He stated.
"Why? What if I wanted to go somewhere else?" You crossed your arms.
He took a deep breath, hand slightly shaking on the steering wheel.
"We need to talk." He said, keeping his voice steady. You remained silent, waiting for him to continue.
"I.. Scheiße…" he cursed.
"Konig. Pull over…" you asked softly. He obeyed, the car coming to a stop, as he killed the engine.
"I… care. For you." He tried. You felt your heart swell at his words.
"Why did you leave…" you asked in a low voice, hurt lacing the sound.
"I… was out of control. I got, suspended. I thought that, maybe, walking away would be better. You. Deserve better…" the last words lost in whispers.
"I wasn't scared." You stated, Konig's head turning to you in shock. "I know you'd never hurt me. Ever." You turned to him with a smile.
"Never." He growled.
You smiled.
"Do you… will you let me… court you… liebling?" He asked, looking away.
"That's all I want Konig…" you answered, relief washing over you.
A second later, two things poked under his hood, making you crack a chuckle.
"Gottverdammt…" he mumbled.
You chuckled again, leaning towards him. He kept his eyes on you as your hand rose to his head. Your fingertips touched his ears underneath the fabric as they twitched, Konig whining a bit. You smiled, not pushing further.
"Let's go…" you said softly.
The thrilling sensation of finally being able to take you out on dates and cuddle with you non stop made Konig giddy. After that night, he went to Price, asking him for advice on how to keep control with you next to him. Price had been a mix of happiness that you two were finally letting yourself go for it, and worried because he knew trouble would be brewing. Something along the lines of a Soap-Ghost, was about to start again.
You were on cloud nine, it was amazing to be able to have Konig back next to you, finally letting himself show you how much he cared. At first he had refused too much physical contact. After a little while, he started with the small touches, hugs and cuddles. Something Price told him must have made something click in his brain, he was now much more controlled when you spoke. A simple 'stop', even lighthearted, made him freeze and step back. It almost made you miss the beast.
You'd also spend a lot more time with the group, now taking your rightful place on Konig's lap as he wrapped his arms around your waist. Price and Ghost still eyeing Konig once in a while. If there's one thing that they noticed, it was the dark looks sent to Gaz when he sat slightly too close to you, or joked around too much. Something about the comment he made in the bar must have stuck to Konig.
And it was true. Konig felt a ping of jealousy and possessiveness every single time Gaz looked at you or smiled…
You were oblivious. You hadn't heard the comment. It was probably not true either. Gaz probably said that to make Konig realize how much he needed you, but the words kept circling in mind every time he was in the same room as you.
And it had poisoned his mind. He'd cling more to you as time passed. He'd find himself nibbling at your neck without even realizing before you called out to him. He noticed the way your cheeks flushed a delightful pink. He tried to stop his painful erection every time. Too soon. He didn't have enough control on his wolf. Not with you.
In the middle of that mess, you felt safer letting your tail and ears out. Only accentuating his fixation on you. He had also let his ears and tail out a lot more. You were so happy every time and he'd let you pet his ears, making his tail wag. He wasn't ashamed anymore. He'd be your perfect little puppy if that's what you wanted.
Until it happened. After a very long and annoying two day field training with new recruits, Konig had walked into the common rooms, grumbling. The sweet scent of you immediately relaxing his tense shoulders. When he looked up he froze. The instincts and reaction was on the spot. His eyes flashing red at the scene before him. The way Gaz hovered over your shoulder, looking at the file on your lap. His mouth was so close to your neck. You could probably feel his breath on your skin.
The growl erupting from his chest wasn't controlled. And it immediately caught your attention and Gaz's one. The boy took a step back immediately, hand raising in the air as surrender. You stood, skipping to Konig.
"Konig…" you called softly.
His gloved hand tangled in your hair, pulling softly as he nuzzled your neck, eyes glaring at Gaz. Gaz simply looked away. You decided to avoid the storm brewing by pulling Konig with you into the hallway straight towards his room. Cuddles would help calm him down. The door almost slammed shut behind the two of you. It made you shiver and bite your lip as you turned towards Konig. His hands met your waist, pulling you up before slowly bringing you down on the bed.
You giggled, watching him pull off his hood. His beautiful face made you warm up. It had been a couple of weeks now that he felt comfortable enough to take off the mask and reveal himself to you.
"Why was he so close to you… did he touch you?" He growled against the skin of your collarbone. You stifled a moan.
"Of course not… Konig… he wouldn't dare… he knows I'm yours.." you reassured.
"Not… fully…" he mumbled.
You blinked, heat rushing through your body.
"K-konig…" you stuttered.
He rose from the bed, pulling you up to sit as he brought you to the edge. You watched in awe as he kneeled in front of you.
"Bitte liebling…" he whined, hands on your ankle as his teeth grazed the skin of your thighs. Your stomach twisted at the sight, feverish shiver and wetness pooling in between your legs. The bunny in you wanted nothing more than to offer itself to his beast.
"Let me.. mark you. Bitte…" he looked up, blue begging eyes. "Ich bitte…"
You inhaled a sharp breath, hand meeting both sides of his face as your thumbs caressed the skin, soft stumble underneath your fingertips.
"Yes…" you whispered in a breath.
His eyes lit up, red flashing at you as he rose to his feet to pull you back up on the bed again, taking his place in between your legs.
"Are you sure schatz? I… I'm not… I…" he looked anxious for a second, the fear of losing control and hurting still lingered underneath the scorching need to have you.
"Yes Konig… you're all I want… I need you to mark me…" you whined.
His hand hid your eyes, making you gasp. You felt the way he transitioned, claws and fur now tickling your soft skin. It made the bunny react, tail and ears popping out. He removed his hand, letting you see his enormous frame. God he was large in human form, but the sheer size of him as a wolf was terrifying.
You dropped a soft kiss on his maw, your ears plastering back. He whined, licking at your cheek, jaw, avoiding your neck to go for your collarbone.
"Can… I..?" He asked, how voice graveled and claws pulling at your clothes.
"Of course…" you giggled.
The fabric tore to shreds, as he whined and his tail wagged frantically. You felt yourself burn. The mating frenzy overrides anything else in your mind. He lapped at your skin, traveling to your legs, thighs. He softly bit the plush flesh, not drawing blood but earning a gasp from you. He used his large maw and head to spread your legs, giving him access to your aching core.
"K..Konig…" you begged.
He licked softly at your cunt, not applying enough pressure to dip in your folds.
"Konig!" You scolded, impatient.
He obeyed, tongue pushing past your lips to lick at your wetness and lapping at your clit.
The moan of relief and pleasure that escaped your lips made Konig's erection react, cock twitching.
His tongue didn't hesitate pushing at your entrance, making sure to stretch you slightly as you squirm underneath his large hands. He could break you. And the thought made you open your legs wider for him. You were already so close to your orgasm. He could smell it in your scent, feel it in the tremble of your body. His tail wagged happily, the thought of you cumming from his tongue making him feel proud and thrilled. Your hand dived down to his head, grabbing at the fur in between his ears as his ears fell back. He whined, tail now slamming on the bed as he wagged.
Your breath quickened as you felt yourself so close to the edge. One last long lick made you throw your head back, a loud moan erupting from your throat.
Konig let out something in between a growl and a whine against your squeezing count that made you jolt through your pleasure. He didn't stop, lapping greedily. You giggled in between moans and gasps.
He finally stopped, straightening himself to hover over you. He still happily wagged his tail, his ears back as he licked his maw. You blushed and smiled as your hands met the sides of his neck.
"Good boy…" you let out.
He whined again, this time grinding his hips forwards as his hardened cock rubbed against your clit. You moaned. He was big. God… so large. He looked down at you, awaiting your orders, trying to hold himself from ravishing you. You rolled your hips against him, the friction making him pant.
"Bitte schatz… bitte bitte bitte…" he whined.
You bit your lip, nodding.
"How… Do you want me?" You asked, unsure of which position would be best.
"On your tummy…" he growled against your cheek, nuzzling you.
You giggled again, rolling over. He licked at your back, small bites at your tail and ears before his hand snaked underneath your hips to pull you up to your knees.
He looked down, his tip at your entrance, making sure to coat himself. He pulled away, opening his maw to let his drool fall on top of his member and your ass, watching it drip down to your entrance as your skin filled with goosebumps. When he finally put himself at your entrance, tip just slowly probing at the entrance he froze, waiting for you.
"You choose… take your time…" he said, one hand bracing himself, the other on your hip.
You wiggled your hips, his member in between your folds. When you felt yourself unable to resist any longer, you pushed back slightly, hit tip dipping into you as you gasped closing your eyes. You took your time, small movements forwards and backwards to ease himself into you, each inch only stretching you further. Konig whimpered above you, his hips trying their best to remain still and to not buck into you, his claws ripping at the bedsheets next to your head. You lowered your front, hips up and back arching to take him better.
He finally bottomed out, you closed eyes, your lungs trying to keep up with your blood flow. When you finally felt yourself adjusted enough, you bucked back into Konig, a whine escaping him.
"Please… Konig…" you whined as well.
He struggled to fight himself, hips pulling back slowly before pushing forwards to dive into your drenched pussy again. You could feel how hard he was holding back.
"Konig… please…" you urged.
He allowed himself to slam himself slightly harder into you, making you moan loudly. He increased his pace, hips slamming into yours, the bed shaking. His hand underneath your front, right in between your breast, his hand clenching at the sheets right underneath your face.
"Bite… if .. you need to…" Konig tried through moans and whimpers. His other arms were firmly wrapped underneath your hips so he had better access to you. You could feel yourself clench around him, count filling so full, Tip hitting your cervix in a mix of pain and pleasure. You felt the familiar coil in the pit of your stomach ready to burst. You glanced to the side, eyes catching a divine view. There in the mirror, you could see you, sprawled forwards on the bed in Konig's strong grip as his hips slammed into yours, his ears back and tail curled against his legs as drool fell from his maw, eyes flashing in between red and blue as he looked drunk from the mating fuck.
It made you burst, eyes closing shut as you crumbled in his arms, orgasm washing over you again.
"Oh… good… so verdammt gut…"  he moaned in your ear.
You felt the tears burn your eyes, overstimulation ensnaring your senses. Your ears barely picked up the sound of a worried Price calling for Konig at the door. Barely picked up on the ear piercing growl Konig produced as an answer. A deadly warning that if one of them dare to enter to interrupt his marking and nearly fucking breeding he'd tear them apart. He was too lost to care. Fuck the rest, it was you. Your scent, your pretty moans of his name, the smell of your salty tears and the way your perfect pussy squeezed him.
You didn't hear Price ask the rest of the team to evacuate the rest of the building. Cursing that this was the second time this year and Laswell was going to yell. No. The feeling of Konig pounding you mercilessly was making you lose all sense of reality. The next orgasm creeped up on you, almost painful blurring your vision and making your ears ring. Everytime you could feel him wag his tail, almost beeping with joy that you were cumming around his cock, just for him.
You were drooling yourself, the sound of him whimpering and moaning your name telling you he was close. He was going to mark you, the thought made your pussy clench tightly around him. His hips faltered, pounding your mercilessly.
"Please… bitte bitte… ich bitte… can I cum… pleasepleaseplease…" he whimpered against your neck.
You cried out a yes in between hiccups as he slammed roughly into you now. If he wasn't holding you firmly by the waist you wouldn't have kept in place. Your orgasm was nearing, creeping again around the corner as Konig panted loudly, cock burying itself so deep in you, you almost felt him in your belly. You chanted his name, both of you ready to release as he lunged forwards, teeth sinking into your neck painfully as you both came. You felt yourself lose focus, the world spinning around you at the force of your pleasure, only doubled by the marking.
His hips bucked into you a few more times as he licked at the blood on your neck. You didn't register him pulling you with him to lay on your side. On the way he wrapped a blanket around you, more than him. He cuddled you tightly to him, cock still buried deep inside you. He whispered and mumbled nonsense German in your neck that only made you smile. You felt yourself drift off to sleep as the last thing you heard from Konig roared through your whole body.
"Mine.."
In the morning you didn't get up. You had tried but your aching muscles and the soreness made you unable to stand. Konig apologized profusely. He had gone back for a few rounds again during the night, having you mewling for him. You were so full of his cum your thighs could feel the stickiness and wetness in between them. You felt like he had gone through the mating and the feeling of breeding you all together.
He had been absolutely adorable for the entire day, bringing you snacks and drinks, cuddling with you. Price had made sure that everyone avoided the common rooms and dorms, letting the freezing come to a stop while he dealt with angry HR's breathing down his neck.
But you couldn't care less. As you laid down in konig's arms, his piercing blue eyes looking down at you full of love you couldn't care less about the rest of the world.
"Konig…" you whispered.
He hummed happily, eyes squinting.
"I love you…" you let out in a breath. His eyes widened in shock before he hugged you tighter.
"Oh liebling… I love you…"
⋆౨ৎ˚⟡˖ ࣪. setting it straight ⋆౨ৎ˚⟡˖ ࣪.
pairing: female driver!reader x toto wolff
word count: idek tbh
warnings: age gap relationship, oral (f! receiving… toto is a munch confirmed) cursing, allusions to sex in public, toto being sexy, slight dom vibes (from toto), poorly translated german, probably some poor grammar, yadayadayada
a/n: i’m absolutely fried rn & it was missing toto and golden girl hours. i don’t apologize for this and will not be apologizing for how absolutely filthy it is!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
his tongue drags.
it’s flattened against your soaked folds, carefully taking in the way your juices seep on to his tongue.
“t-toto,” the way his name falls from your lips is utterly sinful.
it’s a pant, a mere mewl brimmed with nothing but pleasure.
“what is it?” he’s nearly out of breath, intoxicated off your taste, “what is it, my love?”
“w-we shouldn’t,” your hips writhe, squirming as his hands envelop your thighs, tightening as the last few words tumble out, “we shouldn’t be doing this.”
“oh?” he cocks his head, “should i stop then?”
you’re teetering on the edge of cumming, just on the brink.
though, you don’t have to tell him that.
he’s well aware.
he can sense your ragged breathing, the way your chest heaves. how your battered clit throbs, swollen and engorged from his teasing tongue. your skin is nearly burning as the pads of his thumbs caress your inner thighs.
“please don’t stop.”
“are you sure?”
his mocha depths are almost a shade darker than usual, nearly an obsidian hue. they’re fiery with lust as he takes you in once again, absolutely soaked and aching.
aching for release.
he hums, prompting you to answer, “can i continue or are we done here?”
“you can’t just leave me like this,” you protest, shaking your head furiously, “please, toto. i need it.”
“and what do you need?” your jaw tightens as you notice the smug smirk, “tell me, baby. what do you need?”
“i need you to make me cum.”
“that’s all i needed to hear,” he clicks his tongue, obviously please with your answer.
there was really no explaining how you got to be in this position.
well, maybe there was.
it was a rough race weekend in spa.
with the disqualification, daniel’s little stunt, and your fourth place finish, it wasn’t really quite the weekend you had in mind.
you were over the moon for george of course. well, until the disqualification. that put toto in a pretty sour mood. not to mention the plethora of reporters and media following him around after that news broke. that really almost sent him over the edge.
and you didn’t want to him started on daniel’s little stunt either.
just before qualifying, you were in the garage with alex, recording a bit for your upcoming podcast episode. before you knew it, daniel was strolling in, wrapping an arm around your shoulders, proclaiming how much he missed you and how he wanted to rekindle your friendship.
the entire thing caught you completely off guard, your mind reeling as daniel shot you a wink, waving goodbye as he exited the paddock. it only lasted about three minutes, yet felt like an eternity.
and the worst part about it?
a fan recorded daniel as he left the garage, promptly posting it to their tik tok page. that tik tok was then plastered all over instagram and x, sparking all sorts of rumors.
rumors that you were possibly cheating on the team principal with daniel.
the incident left you speechless, unable to string together an incoherent thought, let alone focus on qualifying. you ended up placing eighth, one of the lower finishes you have had in quite some time. it left james questioning your ability to make a podium, not to mention the thousands of posts bashing you, undermining your skills and credibility as a driver.
although toto could see right through daniel, you could tell it had pissed him off.
more than he would have liked to admit.
so the moment you were alone, you found him in your driver’s room, locking the door, practically pouncing on you.
he wouldn’t say it, but you knew what he was doing.
he was setting the record straight.
reminding you that you were his.
and only his.
the only way he knew how.
“you’re mine, you know that?”
you blink, registering that he’s still positioned between your thighs, on his knees, hovering at the edge of the couch.
“is this about daniel?”
“natürlich ist es das,” his tongue darts out, circling around your clit, “ich musste dich daran erinnern, wem du gehörst.”
“hör auf damit,” you tsk, rolling your eyes, “you have nothing to worry about.”
“i know,” his lashes flutter as he murmurs, his gaze fixated on your drenched core. he lifts a finger, the digit tracing along your folds, “it’s not you i’m worried about. it’s him.”
“aber du bist der mann, den ich liebe.”
his heart skips a beat, the team principal’s lust dissipating for just a moment. he couldn’t help but melt at the softness in your voice, at the sureness in those words.
fuck, did he love you.
oh so much.
propelling himself upward, a hand connects with your cheek, thumb trailing along your cheekbone, “i love you, my sweet girl.”
“i love you more, toto.”
shaking his head, the team principal can’t help but grin, dimples forming as he notices your beautiful smile take shape.
“and i love you most.”
Oystein sat at the typewriter, drafting up a letter for Mayhem's fans. It had been at least nine months since Helvete was closed down, Varg had started his own label and had already put out a demo for his new band. They had auditioned all over Norway and beyond to find someone to re-record their album and they were in the final stages of putting it together.
Oystein didn't expect to fall so seamlessly into living with Y/n but life had been good. He felt like they lived a normal, surprisingly uneventfully fun life together. She decided that she wanted to quit her jobs and start studying in healthcare. He found it noble of her to want to focus on psychiatric care in such a time when people didn't take mental health serious in the slightest.
He had finally taken her home as his girlfriend for the holidays and his family was over the moon excited that they had finally gotten their stuff together enough to be a couple, no one more than his sister. She had made them matching bracelets to wear and made sure Oystein's was black.
Oystein had done exactly what Y/n had suggested and let the sting of Helvete closing burn off before he started looking at other buildings he could lease. Now that they were wrapping up the album, they planned to start the search for Helvete's new home.
Oystein heard the front door open and didn't bother looking up from what he was writing.
"Hey baby, I picked up dinner because I did not feel like cooking tonight." Y/n greeted him putting the food on the table and dropping her bags on a chair. She walked over and wrapped her arms around him from behind and looked over the letter he was proof reading.
"What do you think?" He asked looking it over.
"I think Black Metal is about to get one hell of an album." She kissed the side of his face and he smiled as she bumped his glasses with her lips. He spun around in his chair and put his hands on her hips.
"How was your day beautiful?" He asked pulling her into his lap.
"It was exhausting. I want to get in the bathtub and just soak for like an hour." Y/n rubbed circles into Oystein's chest and his eyebrows went up.
"Sounds nice although you don't look nearly dirty enough for a nice long soak." Oystein teased gripping her hips a little tighter.
"Oh yeah? You want to help with that I'm sure." She smirked at him as she grinded her hips down into his semi-hard cock.
"You know me, I'm a helpful guy." She laughed at his response and she leaned down to kiss him.
"Your dinners going to get cold." She warned as she started to get off his lap but he held onto her wrist.
"That's what the oven is for." He reminded pulling her back onto his lap. She laughed running her hands through his hair.
"Are you gonna leave you glasses on if I let you fuck me?" Y/n teased making Oystein purse his lips at her.
"Let me? You think you get to let me fuck you?" Oystein gripped the back of her neck holding her in place. She bit her lip as he moved his free hand between her thighs and felt the damp spot on her panties. He pulled them to the side and started to play with her clit.
"I fuck you whenever, wherever I want because you belong to me." Oystein sucked a spot on her chest that was exposed. She started to thrust her hips into Oystein's hand but the closer she got, the more she needed him.
"Oystein..." He was equally desperate for her as he tossed her legs off of him and started to undo his belt buckle and jeans. Y/n scrambled to pull her dress over her head and step out of her panties. She practically hurdled his hips to straddle him in the chair. She lowered herself slowly onto him letting out a groan but there was no patience in Oystein's hips as he started pistoning his cock into her. She bounced on his thighs, the sound of her skin slapping his and her moans filled the apartment as she held onto him for dear life.
"F-fuck.." Oystein whined. Y/n put her hand around his throat and squeezed making him look up at her. His glasses were slightly fogged from having his head against her chest.
"You full so good baby. I want you to cum inside of me. I want it. Please." She begged and Oystein's eyes rolled into the back of his head as he continuously slammed his cock into her. When he did cum, Y/n swiveled her hips feeling his load dripping out of her and onto his thigh. He hummed as he tried to come down from his orgasm and she smiled. Once he was able to look at her, he chuckled at the fog covering his lenses. She pulled the glasses off and smiled giving him a sweet kiss.
"Hold on." He said making her throw her arms around his neck as he got up and shuffled them towards the bed. She laughed as his feet squeaked along the floor before she landed on her back on the bed. He silently went back to rubbing her clit and using his fingers to bring her to the same ending as he was. He wasn't sure what was his cum and her own release as it leaked onto the bedspread.
"Don't stop baby. I'm gonna cum." Y/n cried out and Oystein kept his eyes on her face as she came on his fingers, waiting for her to grip his wrist to stop him from overstimulating her.
The two of them lay next to eachother and smiled.
"I think that's the first time we've fucked at your desk." Y/n pointed out. Oystein nodded his head.
"All the time we've been here and we haven't fucked at my desk, kind of hard to believe." Oystein chuckled.
"Well that's your work station. I don't usually like to bother you when you're working on something." Y/n pushed some of his hair off his face and he smiled.
"If you think riding my cock is a bother, I'm clearly doing something wrong." He joked.
"We'll have to make a list of the places we have left to christen around here." Y/n looked around and Oystein agreed.
"We've got plenty of time for that...for now, I need your help getting out of my pants so we can heat up dinner." Oystein looked down at his legs and Y/n laughed seeing the mess of pants, underwear, loosened belts and boots around his ankles.
"You're a mess." She teased helping him take his boots off so he could slip his legs out of his pants.
"Yeah but you love it." He lifted her chin with his thumb and she smirked as he held her chin.
"I do...to hell and back." He smiled at her before kissing her sweetly.
Alkaline pt. 2
Part 1,
A/N: shadows: “privacy? Never heard of her😒”
Is that a blossoming friendship between Doberman and pitpull/golden retriever i see?
It’s a little short cause I just wanted to introduce some new things before it started getting juicy🫢
Wednesday Addams x fem!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-nine years before-
“This ain’t necessary.”
“It’s ‘is not’ or ‘isn’t’.” The older man replies without looking up from his book. “And if you are to learn how to control you mental state much better than you must go.”
You were to go to the Cave of Lilith, a place claimed by the elders who were to help you control your abilities.
Your mother had not wanted it but after your multiple outburst through the years she had reluctantly agreed, how grateful she would be she had.
Your eyes snap toward the man with a scowl, his slick back hair shining as the moon reflects off of it. No hair - gray or black - dared to move out of place with the gel that lay in it. His dark eyes move across the pages in a fluid motion, his bushy eyebrows creased in concentration.
“I’s don’t see the point, my mental state is perfectly fine.” You mumble slouching in the seat as a loud neigh from one of the horses sounds through the air. He was growing frustrated with your choice of speech.
“Your term of ‘perfectly fine’ must be different from mine,” his eyes leave his book and lock with yours in a glare. “Especially if every time you get upset you destroy things with your little friends.”
“Ain’t theys fault for havin’ feelin’s.” You shoot back without hesitation, the shadows growing impatient with the man as you do.
His eyes never leave yours, his intense stare making you feel small. A scolding would have been much preferred.
He always had a way to shut you up with one of his looks, the way he stares into you as if you are not truly there could be terrifying at times. But not today. No, you felt a feeling you had been feeling often recently; it made your hands shake, your blood boil and your body turn cold.
It was not pleasant and you could not help but let a little spill over at a time every time someone made you feel the feeling.
“And soon those feelings will turn to something you will fear, the lingering dangers in the shadows will no longer be your friends.” A threat. You had learned he was telling more and more of those as your days went on.
It only made the feeling grow inside you. Who was he to threaten you?
“I’s ain’t afraid of no dark!” Your voice comes out as a growl, the feeling bubbling over little by little and it made you feel a little better. But it was better when you could break things and yell. He did not like it though, anger always grew in his face every time as it was right now.
“Then you are a fool!” He shouts, silence over taking the entire forest around you and even the steps of the horses became quieter.
The voices also quieted down, their instigations and taunts became non-existent and turn into quiet murmurs of distrust and fear.
“If you think for a second there won’t be something in the shadows that won’t threaten your life and take it, then you are far from right.” His chest rises and falls, both of your patience had always run thin though yours seemed to always be quicker than his which only pushed his.
“You may be part of the darkness now but that does not mean there are not others who are as well, willing to do things you aren’t and take what they want.” He states allowing his voice to soften along with his features.
The feeling was growing stronger, this time it was bubbling over on all sides; clawing at your rib cages as if they were cell bars, aching to tear the older man limb from limb for his light threats.
“You’re wrong.” You reply, gaze hardening the voices growing loud and the lamp on your carriage seems to dim around you both making the driver shiver as he tried to ignore you both.
The man simply raises his eye brows, eyes switching from your face and your hands that seemed to shake far more violently than what he was used to.
“How so?” He asks, challenging you in a way they shadows didn’t like. “You don’t think there are people stronger than you? People who can consume you like a mosquito does blood? You think you can defend yourself against hundred year old demons and devils?“
“I know so.” His gaze hardens at the double voice that seemed to over power your own, his stiff body become much stiffer and his jaw clenching.
“Tell me,” he starts and your fingers begin to twitch uncontrollably. “Do you think you’re stronger than me?” He was no longer talking to you specifically.
“I do.” He hums in response, body and gaze still hard as you stare at him unblinking. He suddenly leans forward to match the height of your eyes.
“I might just have to consume you myself then, we can’t have you rampaging around like an animal.” The threat makes you completely boil over, the cover toppling over and everything comes out all at once.
“I’d like to see you try, motherfucker!” You growl but before anything else could happen your body shakes aggressively forcing you to fall into the man who quickly pulls you closer.
“Shh..” he whispers as your body continues to shake, black roots forming throughout your skin like the plague. The shadows begin to howl, the sudden feelings coursing through them as well as they cry out for you. “Calm yourself, mea umbra.”
He begins rocking you like a newborn, hoping to stop its cries and sooth it into peace. But this was far from rocking a new born, he was rocking an uncontrollable and angry child that had power only an adult should have.
How unfair. It was unfair how you didn’t get to live before being forced into this. How your small body had to take on pain you should have been given a chance to train before taking on. How you had to endure the monster growing inside you. Yes, more than unfair.
As your body began to go from shaking to the occasional twitch, the shadows to began to calm down. The only sign of them was the whispers and low groans.
The man glances down to you, your eyebrows knitted together and your body stiffer than his. Your skin was getting paler and the dark circles under your eyes grew. you looked dead. A sight no grandfather should have to or want to see.
His eyes then travel to your hands that still shook violently and his frown deepened. The tips of your fingers were pulling in the dark roots formed around your body as you calmed down, it would be a permanent sign of the monster inside you. Reminding you everyday that it was still there and would always be.
————
You can’t help the twitching of your fingers as you stare into the mirror, eyes scanning over your body. Scars liter across the pale skin, few from small little things through out your childhood but most from the that part of your childhood inside Cave of Lilith.
The elders had tried their best to contain the monstrous being inside you but that didn’t stop it from getting you at moments of vulnerability.
But those were the small ones, when you did things it didn’t like it would scratch at you like a cat wanting to be fed but never went farther than that.
The deep ones; the ones you couldn’t stand were the ones from him. The youngest elder who thought himself to be the strongest because of his youth, pathetic.
He had taught you his own ‘obedience’ through pain. You always remembered him telling you it was tough love, that he had cared for your improvement with your shadows. Lies in the form of lies, more reasons not to trust anyone.
Though he was the reason for how in control you are now, you could never forgive him for the damage he had caused
A cold hand touches yours and you flinch lightly before looking down to see the dark one hovering over your own.
You look toward the dark figure that had its held tilting, next to it was another looking over his shoulder. You smile lightly before letting your hand fall from the long scar down to your side before examining the room. One sat perching on the toilet seat, another sitting to your right on the counter, one peeking over the shower curtain and the last one staring at the door, taking the liberty to stand guard and scare any off if they enter.
You let out a chuckle before feeling another set of fingers hook under your bra and you lift your arms up to let them pull it over your head.
It was routine, this was your first group of shadows when you left. The ones who came in without fear to help you through your times of healing, the ones you trusted more than anything. The ones who stayed in the loneliest of times.
It was like your own small little council. They had their own personalities and opinions as well, it was hard to figure out at first but you began to notice subtle differences. One was far shyer than the rest and one was much meaner and liked to get physical.
Not only was it their personalities, it was also their shapes. They may not have been human but they still existed to you.
You let them finish undress you before stepping into the shower, even then could you feel the gaze of the one who was still looking over top the curtains.
————
“I won’t do it.” You say as you step into your mothers room to see her finishing getting ready. “Do what, dear?” She asks looking through her mirror and toward you as she finishes up her make up.
Mama!
So bright..
I want that cookie..
“The skirt.” You mumble and throw the black uniform down onto her bed. “You cannot make me.”
It was a nuisance. In order to pass through the shadows you would have to have perfectly fit clothes that were not flowy. Not to mention this was not your style.
You had your other reasons as well but you wouldn’t dare mention them to your mother, she already had enough on her plate dealing with you as it was.
She sighs quietly before a breathy chuckle leaves her and you can’t help but feel your frown deepen.
“I figured,” she mumbles before closing her clear tub of lipstick and standing up straight. “But it was worth a try.” She stares toward the uniform longingly before stepping into her own closet.
“Here you are.” She says pulling out a fresh pair of black dress pants. You let out a sigh of relief and you take them before rushing off toward her bathroom.
“So, have you met anyone yet?” She asks, clearly standing outside the bathroom door making you huff out as you pull your shirt over your head.
“Yes, Yoko.” You reply and you can only imagine to hard eye roll she would do. “Anyone other than your roommate?”
You pause for a moment, thinking of telling her about your encounter with Wednesday while sneaking out past curfew. Then you remember this your mother you were speaking of. She would want you to do the things normal teenagers did. Smoke weed, sneak out, do drugs, drink, have sex. She just wanted you to have a little normalcy.
“I met a girl at three in the morning.” The drawn out ‘ooh’ sound outside the door makes you roll your eyes. “A girl? Was she cute?” She was now pressing her face into the crack of the door. Sometimes you weren’t sure if you were the teenager.
“She was..” you think of your words for a moment. “Attractive, yes.” You reply and grimace at the squeal let out by your mother.
“Don’t you just always know what you want!” She giggles, voice fading as she walks away and you can’t help the blush on your face from growing.
You had only briefly met her, to say that you wanted her was over the top. “Must you always assume every person I meet I like?” You huff out ignoring the quiet giggles both the shadows and your mother give you.
————
You mumble quietly to the voices as you walk the halls, eyes scanning the faces of every student you pass. Most had already been staring but as soon as you look they would glance away, wide eyed and walk the other direction.
How lovely.
Perhaps it would be like this for the rest of your time here. Students making a point to avoid you and sticking to their own cliques you would no where near fit into.
It was probably for the better, if they had made a single mistake the shadows would not tolerate them much, that’s the reason you preferred to be alone. You should be the only one subjected to the insanity that comes with them.
Your body comes into contact with a very hard surface making you stumble slightly into a wall before being steadied by the invisible hands that quickly remove themselves.
Your eyes snap to the cause to see a wide and red eyed boy who stares at you unrelenting. He was clearly intoxicated off marijuana, at least it looked like it.
A Gorgon, you had assumed from the hat and the way his hair seemed to move under it. A possible threat if left unattended.
“Whoa..” he drags the word out as he continues to stare, eyes scanning over you as if you were some sort of alien he had never seen before.
A smile forms on his face as he points his finger and shakes it lightly. “Your Yoko’s roommate, that shadow chick.”
You stare at him for a moment, eyes scanning over him once before deciding to nod. His appearance was completely harmless unless he took his beanie off but that was not something you were too worried about.
His smile grows and he steps toward making you take a smaller step back.
“Can you make me?” He asks referring to your ability to make shadow figures on will. You continue to stare for a moment before quickly turning on your heels and walking off.
He follows, quickly matching you pace and you can’t help but let a small groan out. “So, like,” you can already tell his vocabulary was lacking. “I’m guessing that’s a no?”
You don’t respond and keep walking. “I figured, what’s your name?”
How could he have not known your name but Wednesday did? Was he an idiot or just not part of the conversation. You guessed the first part.
“Y/N.” You simply say picking up the pace only for him to do the same. “Cool,” he says while nodding slowly, too slowly.
“I’m Ajax.” He finishes as he bumps his fist against another students. “A pleasure.” You reply in a direction you don’t know. You forgot how large the place actually was and how easily you could get lost. You had tried using your shadows but they took it upon themselves not to cooperate.
How frustrating.
“What’s your first class?” He asks and you clench your jaw. What great timing he had. You would have to get him to tell you if the shadows wouldn’t. You raise the paper for him to take without faltering you steps as he scans over it.
“Oh shit!” He calls out and a large smile forms on his face. “We have the same class.” He cheers and suck through your teeth and nose as giggles are heard from all around you.
“Here, I’ll take you.” He says grabbing your arm to drag you in the direction of your first class.
He continues to talk the entire way and all you can do is either nod or shake your when he asks you a question. Were all people like this here? You had hoped not.
Just as your about to enter a room two people step in front of you, one a tall lanky boy with a short pony tail tied right behind his head while the other was a boy with bright eyes and swept back hair. A siren, you assumed.
“Hey Ajax,” the taller one says before his eyes travel to you. “Whose this?” He asks with a raised eyebrow before looking back up to Ajax.
You feel Ajax tense and his grip on your jacket tightens, a sign not to like the boy in front of you both. Or so you thought.
“This is Y/N,” he starts and you feel his arm raise and wrap around your shoulder. “My new best friend.”
So close..
Don’t touch!
He’s warm..
Smells nice..
Your head slowly turns up to look at the boy, his eyes narrowed and a smug look rest on his face with the small pouty smirk.
You had just been pulled into a childish dispute and there would be no escape. You didn’t even know the boy other than the fact that he liked to talk.
The boy raises his eyebrow and looks at you with a questioning gaze. “This is your new best friend?” You take the question as an insult as he looks you up and down with a look you couldn’t decipher and decide to play along.
“Jealous?” You simply ask as you step closer Ajax whose pout turned into a smirk quickly. “Yeah, jealous?” He repeats as you cross your arms.
The boy narrows his eyes at you for a moment while the boy next to him looks between the three of you.
“How about we just c-“ the taller boy quickly shuts him up by wrapping his arm around the shoulder of the boy and glares toward Ajax.
“No, because Kent is my new best friend.” Ajax let’s put an exaggerated gasp and opens his mouth wide. Oh, the chaos how you loved it. You had just started a rivalry and feud and you couldn’t help but enjoy it entirely.
“Yeah? Well you can sit by your new best friend and I’ll sit by mine.” Ajax retorts before dragging you forward and pushing past the boys shoulder.
You allow him to stomp you through the room and notice your mother talking to a group of siren girls before looking up to meet your eyes.
You send her a pleasing look as she gives you a questioning. She considers, for a moment, before smiling knowingly and going back to the girls.
You’re brought to a table and watch as Ajax slumps himself into his seat and decide to take the seat next to him.
You watch him glare at the lanky boy and ‘Kent’, making sure to send a smirk to them both. You couldn’t help yourself, it was all so amusing and you might as well get comfortable if your going to be here a while.
“Hi Ajax!” A loud voice calls out causing your eyes to snap toward a girl smiling brightly, dyed haired tips and colorful makeup as she steps toward him. How disturbing.
You also notice Wednesday walking behind her, with the same face she had on a few nights ago. Perhaps it was frozen there.
The blondes eyes travel to you and you see the way the face falls and small glare sets in stone. “Whose this?” She asks but you could tell she already knew as she stayed on Ajax’s side of the table.
“Y/N,” he starts before he once again glares toward the table the two were sitting. “My new best friend.” He makes sure to emphasize the last part loudly for the two to hear.
“I thought you were close friends with Xavier,” Wednesday states as she looks down toward Ajax who allows the blonde to slid into his lap as one arm crosses his chest. “Were you not?”
“We were! Until he decided to ditch me on Saturday to go to his little artist hut or whatever!” Ajax says, nose scrunching up as Xavier continues speaking to Kent.
“Awe, I would have hung out with you.” The blonde says as she leads Ajax’s face to look at her, the glare was now gone and a smile set into place as he stared up at the girl who leaned down for a kiss.
A disgusted look takes over your own face, the sight absolutely horrifying especially in public. You look up to Wednesday who seemed to have the same look before looking down toward you.
“Are you going to save me from my torment or just stand there?” You ask, desperate to get away from the couple, no longer finding being his ‘best friend’ amusing. She simply tilts her head slightly before glancing up toward the two showing an intense about of PDA and decided then and there.
“And miss seeing you suffer under the hands of a feebleminded boy? How foolish of you to think so.” She says with a simple raise of her eyebrow and you can’t help the small chuckle that rest in your chest.
“You are an evil one, aren’t you?” You asks and her raised eye brow raises higher, a faint smirk resting on her face. One most people wouldn’t notice but you did and it caused gentle punches to hit your rib cage and chest plate. The shadows moved around faster at the new feeling you were getting, they were overwhelmed and so were you. What was it?
She turned on her heels and made her way to an open table you had assumed the girl in Ajax’s lap would take next to her. Perhaps your mother was right.
Your eyes travel to the front of the classroom to see your mother already staring with a mischievous smile set on her face and a knowing look as she glances between you two. How truly unfortunate, you will not hear the end of it later you can already tell.
i assume you'll be coming for blood (that makes two of us)
Chapter 2
Ao3 | 3.5k words | Sweetheart's POV
Things go from bad to worse, and all of it's Sweetheart's own doing. - Fooliverse Sweetheart faces off with that first shade. They already know Milo, but things are a lot more complicated than they might have been, not least because of their own stubbornness and pride. Hopefully that pride won't get them killed. Hopefully.
TW: violence, mentions of sex, the Department, illness, arguments, general toxicity
Jet had a handful of not so kind words for you when you finally showed up to work the next day, first for being late and then for not seeking medical attention the night before.
“If you are unable to handle a single threat independently,” Jet had seethed, emailing medical about your impending visit as he spoke, “then you might consider a change in title.”
You didn’t say a thing in protest. You ignored the orders to report to medical, and instead made your way back to your desk in the bullpen, pulling up the open case file on your shitty, ancient desktop computer. You added new notes to the shade’s file, new findings on its abilities and appearance, and drafted an email to a magical expert on Death. Unfortunately, that expert lived in Tanzania, so you would have to find someone who could translate your message to Swahili, and his back to English for any of it to matter.
You missed lunch entirely, too focused on the work in front of you to glance down at the desktop clock or the silver watch your father had given you last Christmas that you wore invariably. You only recognized that it was nearing one in the afternoon when a hand tapped your desk, drawing your attention away from your investigation for the first time in hours.
Dr. Collins was an intimidating man. You weren’t afraid of him, per say, but you certainly didn’t want to end up on the bad side of his death glare. When you looked up, recognizing his Department emblazoned white coat and the irritated crinkle in his brow, you shifted your gaze from his silver eyes to the bridge of his alkaline nose.
“Investigator,” Collins’ drawl clipped his words particularly aggressively, “care to tell me why I received a memo that you were reporting to my office hours ago only to find you at your desk, looking like you just got dragged back from Hell?”
Doctor Sam Collins was one of the rare vampires employed by the Department’s medical division. He oversaw the onsite infirmary, headed the magical/medical research in the Department’s underground labs, and liaised with D.A.M.N. concerning their healing courses. The only reason he was afforded those positions, of course, was because of his incredible power pre-turning.
I was a wolf, Milo had said. You wondered if Collins had that same sort of grief in his voice when talking about his power.
“Probably because I was, Doc.” You shrugged, stretching your back for the first time in hours. A series of loud, obtrusive cracks echoed out through the nearly empty room. When had everybody else left? You checked your watch. Lunch. Right.
“I told you you’d find them here.” An indignant huff from behind you. You whipped your head around, your neck popping audibly at the sudden movement. Cam was standing at the entrance of the bullpen, his hands on his hips. You’d never seen him look annoyed before. His face was usually blank and serene.
“You were right.” Collins shrugged, crossing his arms over his chest. “You’re lucky your friend has a good read on you, Investigator. I was fixing to sick your supervisor after you. And I’ve worked with Jet long enough to know how unpleasant that would be.”
You groaned, your head falling back to rest against your stiff office chair. God, your head was pounding. Your throat felt like something had clawed its way out of it. Your stomach was still uneasy. Your muscles ached.
“You look terrible.” Cam said, suddenly much closer to you. You jerked at his nearness, nearly toppling out of your chair. The Doctor’s unnatural reflexes saved you. All of the annoyance leaked from him at once as he knelt to begin examining you. His hands were cold when they rested on your forehead, tilted your face this way and that. You wondered if it was a result of his vampiric condition, or if it was because he was a doctor.
“Double whammy.” You muttered, your eyes slipping closed.
“You’re delirious.” Collins replied. Healing magic sparked around you, warm and bright like sunshine. You let it wash over your skin, not fighting against Collins’ assessment or Cam’s gentle, soothing touch.
“Are you making me calmer?” You asked Cam, more accusatory than anything. He huffed, offended.
“I wouldn’t without asking.” Cam assured you. “I think... you’re just too tired to fight back.”
“Something got its hooks in you.” The Doctor added. Cool hands hovered over the skin of your neck. “I’m gonna touch, just for a second. Let’s take care of these bruises.”
“Bruises?” You croaked, just as Collins’ hands slid around your neck. His magic swelled around you, and you swung out, pushed at his shoulders to try and get him away. Your heart began to race, your body suddenly awake and alert. You stood, pushing your chair away and stumbling back from Collins and Cam.
“Easy!” The doctor said, his hands extended in front of him like he was surrendering. Cam had a strange, sad look to him. Pity. Your stomach turned.
“I’m sick.” You snapped, shaking your hands out at your sides. You were suddenly filled with anxious energy. “The flu.”
Cam said your name, so soft and cloying. You knew that tone. He was talking down to you, treating you like you couldn’t handle this. You could handle this.
“I should go home.” You said. “Since I have the flu.” Doctor Collins squinted at you. Those silver eyes nearly pulled you in. Your hand twitched to your phone. You should call Milo.
“Let someone take you.” He ordered. “I’d do it myself if the damn sun wasn’t still up. You’re lucky you work on this side of the building, or I wouldn’t have been able to come up and see you in person.” He pinched the bridge of his nose, his body sagging a bit. He looked exhausted all of a sudden. What a waste, you thought. He can’t help me.
“I’ll be fine.” You said, shaking your head. “I’ll get an Uber or something.”
“Please wait,” Cam said, stepping forward, a hand outstretched towards you, “let me take you home.”
“It’s fine, Cam,” you sighed, “you’ve gotta get back to work.”
It was raining by the time you stepped outside, and the late-summer, early-fall chill left you shivering and soaked. You hadn’t bothered with a jacket when you came stumbling into work, and you hadn’t bothered to snag the umbrella you kept in your desk’s bottom drawer for days just like this. Summer in Dahlia meant sudden rainstorms and that damp sort of air that hurt to breathe.
Well, breathing hurt in general, at that moment. You stalked down the sidewalk, soaked through, and tried to decide where you were going.
Home was in the opposite direction, but you refused to turn back and be seen as wandering from the Department’s windows. You kept moving, calling up your known paths through the city, trying to remember where you could double back.
A car pulled up beside you, low to the ground, shining, and blood red. You ignored it, crossed your arms over your chest, and kept moving. You had learned by this point in your life not to give catcallers the time of day.
“Hey Sweetness,” the voice of this particular catcaller got your attention. You stopped short, turned. Milo’s car halted its crawl. The sedan behind him honked impatiently, but Milo paid them no mind. “Whatcha doing out here in the rain? Not that I’m complaining about the wet shirt part.”
“Asshole.” You whispered, but you opened the passenger door and deposited yourself inside, dripping all over his leather interior.
“Woah,” Milo said, his voice suddenly concerned, “you weren’t kidding about the flu. You look like shit.”
“Gee,” you rolled your eyes, “you flirt. You sure know how to make someone blush.”
“Hey,” Milo put his car into drive and peeled off of the curb, merging dangerously fast with traffic. He swerved skillfully between cars going too slow for his liking. Your stomach lurched. “I’m expressing concern over here.”
“I don’t need concern.” You hissed. “If everybody would stop pitying me it would make my fucking day.”
Milo’s mouth snapped shut. His anger was palpable. Good. You preferred anger to whatever else he was cooking up. Anger you could deal with. Anger was familiar.
“I’m taking you to my place.” Milo said after a long silence. “I’ll… make you soup. Or something.”
You sighed, resting your head back against the seat. Your head pounded. You didn’t fight sleep when it pressed against the back of your eyes.
When you woke, you realized that Milo must have carried you inside. You were in the center of his sinfully soft, sinfully giant bed, tucked into his billion thread-count sheets. You sat up and groaned as your migraine made its presence known. You couldn’t have at least slept that off. That would make your life a fraction easier, and that wasn’t allowed.
When you got your legs under you, shaky knees and all, you found yourself clad in an oversized tee and boxer shorts. They smelled like Milo, even if you couldn’t imagine him wearing something so casual and you knew he didn’t frequent underwear at all. Or maybe he just went commando when he knew he might get lucky. Either way, he’d gone through the trouble of pulling these out for you, undressing you, re-dressing you, tucking you lovingly in bed. The sentimentality of it all made your stomach flip.
You could smell something cooking and followed your nose down the stairs and through the twisting halls of Milo’s giant house. Said giant house included a kitchen that gave you a stab of jealousy when you first saw it. Milo wasn’t using it, not for much, anyway. He had an extensive bar cart in one corner, his giant, state of the art fridge was stocked entirely with blood, and his walk-in pantry had one corner filled with sugar snacks. He seemed to only keep food for his fuck buddies. You shivered at the idea of anybody else utilizing those. You would have to start keeping track of them, just to be sure.
Milo was standing over the stove, a brand new wooden spoon in one hand, his phone pressed to his ear in the other.
“Davey,” he hissed, “I’m not asking for a lecture. I’m asking how to make it just a little more palatable.” You could hear a deep voice rumble on the other side, but couldn’t make out any words. “Jesus Christ, I should have never called you! I’m not gonna make a fucking bone broth when Cambles so helpfully provides soup in nice little cans.” His eyes flicked to you, whether it was your heartbeat or your snickering that gave you away. He extended one finger to you, as if to say I’ll deal with you in a minute. “Yeah, yeah, whatever, you pretentious asshole.” He hung up.
“House member?” You asked, crossing to the large island that filled up the middle of the spacious kitchen. There were plastic bags from some pharmacy or another littered around it. You poked around, nosey as ever. Generic painkillers. Three cans of chicken noodle soup. A dozen Gatorades of different flavors. A smattering of cold and flu medicines. Cough drops. He must have grabbed anything he thought might help. Cute.
“Old friend.” He corrected, turning back to the little pot on the stove in front of him. “Davey doesn’t believe canned soup is a valid form of food. I thought he might have a few ideas on how to improve it. Turns out all he was interested in was telling me off for even buying it.”
“I can eat canned soup.” You shrugged. “It’s all the same stuff.”
“Exactly.” Milo huffed. He turned off his burner and started to pour the soup from the pot into one of his sleek, black ceramic bowls. Even his dishware looked expensive. “You get it.”
He walked the bowl over to you, handed you a spoon, and directed you to one of the stools pushed up under the island. You sat down heavily, snagged a green Gatorade, and downed the soup like a starving man.
“There’s more.” Milo said, sitting next to you. “And some stuff in the pantry. I just grabbed a buncha’ shit. Don’t know what you like.”
“You didn’t have to do all that.” You shook your head. Milo refilled your bowl before you could blink. You didn’t protest.
“Well, you looked like you needed it.” He shrugged. He was trying to act casual, but you could feel him observing you, taking in every detail, like he was waiting for you to keel over.
Funnily enough, once you scraped your bowl and went to stand, your knees buckled. He caught you, of course. He bundled you into his chest, your cheek pressed against the exposed skin of his peck. Stupid, silken shirt unbuttoned to his navel. Stupid pretty silver necklaces, cold without any body heat of his own. Stupid little shake in his chest as he steadied you.
“Easy, Sweets.” He said. “Just- will you take it easy? Let me help you.” He was exasperated. Frustrated.
You pushed back, stumbling away from him.
“I don’t-“ you shook your head, pressed your hands into the kitchen island and braced yourself. “I’m fine.”
“Bullshit.” Milo spat. “You look like death warmed over. I can help! Let me help!”
“I don’t need your help!” You shouted. Your voice rose out of you, anger and stubbornness filling you with newfound energy. “I can handle this! I don’t care what bullshit they put me through, I can handle it!”
Milo was quiet. He held your gaze. You held his. Your brain screamed to look away, but you couldn’t. He hadn’t even tranced you, but you were trapped.
“Did-“ he pursed his lips. “What did D.U.M.P. get you into?”
He read you like a book. You gave too much away.
“Where are my clothes?” You asked instead of answering him. He huffed, his hands falling to his hips. His stupid, pretty hands. His stupid, muscly hips. You didn’t know if you wanted to hit him or kiss him.
“No.” He shook his head. “Absolutely not.”
“What do you mean ‘no?’”
“I mean I’m not gonna let you go back into whatever the fuck you’re dealing with alone.” You opened your mouth to argue, but he extended that finger again. You didn’t care for that one fucking bit. “And I know you could handle it, Sweetness, you are a force of fucking nature. But you’re not being given the resources you need, and it’s clearly affecting you. So tell me what you need and I will give it to you, Sweetheart!”
“What I need,” you spat, “is for you to stop calling me that!”
“What?”
“Sweetheart.” You poorly imitated his accent. He huffed out a short laugh. “Sweetness. All those stupid, cute nicknames.”
“Oh, so you think I’m cute?” He crossed his arms over his chest. His face smoothed over into a smile, but you could see the tension in his body. He was giving you an out, a way to step away from the argument before you said something you would regret.
Fuck him. You would say what you wanted to say.
“You’re not my boyfriend.” You growled. “And I’m not your mate.”
It was a calculated killing blow. You knew as it left your tongue that it would hurt, that it would cut him to the bone. The two of you had fucked a handful of times, talked even less, but he, for some goddam reason, had shown you the parts of him that still bled. You hadn’t wanted to use them against him, but you had no choice. Your own weaknesses were so obvious, so clear to the eye, and anybody could use them against you. He was luring you in with all coddling and sweet talking. He didn’t care about you. You wouldn’t let him back you into a corner when you knew how to get away.
Milo’s face went slack, his whole body rearing back from that word. Your gut twisted with something like guilt. You wouldn’t have that. You twisted your fingers into the collar of his oversized shirt and held on for dear life. This was survival, simple as that. Nothing personal. That was something that Milo of all people would understand.
“Out.” He hissed finally, breaking the silence that had overtaken the kitchen. Milo’s eyes were dark, darker than they usually were. His pupils had blown to encompass his silver irises. His face went horrific in a split second. Your body reminded you that you were facing down a monster.
He moved very suddenly, disrupting the air in the room. Your breath caught as his hands landed on you. Your clothes were pulled off before you could protest. Your heart seized in your chest, but as that word pressed at the back of your teeth, you were redressed in the blink of an eye. Your work clothes, still warm from the dryer, were buttoned and tucked before the cool air of Milo’s kitchen could touch your skin. Your shoes were on your feet. Milo’s hands landed on your shoulders and he began to steer you towards the door. Even this angry, his touch was gentle, feather light, like he was afraid to hurt you.
And fuck, if that didn’t make you that much more angry.
You were out the door, unsure if you’d even managed a single independent step. Milo’s touch left you immediately. Your phone, keys, wallet were in your hands. You spun around and saw your shitty sedan parked next to one of Milo’s six priceless sports cars in the driveway. He must have picked it up while you were sleeping. Your stomach flipped.
You turned back around. Milo was hovering in the doorway, shadows cast across his face from the low light of his house. His eyes were glazed over entirely black now. His fangs were extended, pressing into his pretty, full lips.
“I shared that with you,” Milo said, his voice tinged with something animalistic, something wild, “as a show of trust. I told that to you because I know that I have a lot of power. I told you something that I knew could hurt me, because I know it’s not easy to do that.” His face twisted up. You were terrified, for a moment, that he would cry. “Fuck you. Fuck you for using that to hurt me.”
“You could hurt me without even trying!” You seethed. You wrapped your arms around your middle, trying to hold yourself up.
“Yeah.” Milo nodded. “I could. But I didn’t.”
The door shut in your face. You stared at the stained mahogany like it might have answers for you. You screamed until your chest gave way to stuttered, panicked gasps. You got in your car and drove away.
Your desk was waiting for you when you made it back to the office. Jet’s office was darkened, and only a handful of other investigators remained at their desks. It was late evening, bordering on much too late to be here. You sat down anyway and started working.
By the time morning came round, you had far more information than you did at the start of the day before. For one, you had a rudimentary understanding of Swahili, and had managed to properly convey what you needed from your expert using a few online dictionaries and whatever Google Translate had to offer. He was a pleasant guy, if your translations were correct, and had affirmed that he would send a statement your way within the next few days with everything he knew about shades broken down into simple enough terms for the Department to work with.
Your back ached and your stomach was still in knots, but you felt much better than you had the day before. Whatever affects the shade’s life-sucking-bullshit left its victims with wore off with time and rest. You added it to your notes, and sent a quick email to Collins to report your improved health. The sun had started to rise when you received a message back.
Report to medical for field clearance. Don’t make me sick Jet on you.
You sighed, scrubbing at your tired eyes. You knew it was pointless to resist. Collins would get you down there eventually, one way or another. It looked better for you if you went voluntarily.
There was a whole floor to the medical department. Half of it was dedicated only to Dr. Collins’ medical research and the seminars he taught for D.A.M.N.. The other half made up the Department’s extensive infirmary. Staffed by Dr. Collins’ loyal group of doctors and nurses. They were a vicious bunch, too smart for anybody’s good, and skilled beyond all reason in both mundane and magical healing. Collins expected nothing but exceptional skill from his staff, and he wouldn’t settle for anything less.
