I went to a panel with Alex Organ, the voice actor for the English Dubbed Loid Forger!! Lots of this is paraphrasing and it was a light hearted panel so please don't take anything too seriously! :)) Sorry this is a short part!

Alex says he loves Shakespeare and is sure Twilight would love it too.

Ooof he had no idea what to say lol. Which makes sense but after a bit of thinking he said that in the merchant hall he has seen a couple prints that say " Anxiety Daddy " on it. So he agreed that that for him well xD

If SXF was turned into an American Blockbuster Film, who would you want to play as Loid?

the thing is is that the energy has drifted from “large bitchy old man and his nervous little ginger boy assistant” in series 1 to “2 large bitchy old men who are besties” in series 17 and they’re BOTH REALLY GOOD energies

A problem I have with Rick is that a lot of the time when he writes an lgbtq+ character, he writes them for a specific purpose like putting Reyna, the only aroace character, in the hunters of Artemis or that Alex Fierro, the only trans character, is a child of Loki.

Rick kinda brought up this problem in his good reads q&a section:

“… Are you going to add another trans character besides Alex?

Alex for instance just made sense as a child of Loki. So, basically I don’t know. I’m hoping to write about Irish mythology (if I ever get enough time with the other projects going on!) and gender fluidity is most definitely a concept that appears in the Irish myths, so that is a possible logical place where a trans character might appear”

I agree with him that making Alex a trans character makes sense but my problem is that trans characters can exist outside of having a gender fluid godly parent. People are gender fluid without having to be shape shifters and people are aroace without having to commit to celibacy or swear off dating.

I guess all I’m trying to say is that Rick shouldn’t limit himself to have a specific reasoning or trope that always have trans characters be children of gender fluid gods or aroace characters always joining the Hunt. He shouldn’t limit a character’s queer identity to their parents or anything.

Guys we really need to start paying more attention to law and order OC as well because its Elliot’s show and it allows us to see his side of the story so there are a few instances where Olivia makes an appearance and he asked her once “what is this” and replied “a friendship”. Another time he asks her about her relationship while he was gone and she replies “ seriously?!”. In OC he takes his chances to ask her around whenever he can but in SVU thats not so much the case because it’s Olivia’s show and we wont know how she feels unless she voices it out.

Were there any lines that took long to record?

When Twilight has inside thoughts and Loid is saying completely different things in a different tone can be difficult because he likes to take them in one take. As he said it is a "Pop back in forth in two state of being"

What were his favorite moments to voice or in general:?

"Grenade Proposal is very iconic"

Aquarium episode was well written and fun.

He mentioned that the playing pretend Penguin Voice was very fun because it has different energy that Loid and Twilight.

He went on to talk about the Gift shop scene in the Cruice Ship Arc and how much he enjoyed that arc in general. The Last episode of season 2 where it's a Loid Bond team up was good concept and he loved how it played out.

Voice Actor Tips!~

As many voice actors say; Be able to accept rejection. Try not to dwell of your "failures".

Make sure you learn real acting and if you can go to school for it. Learning things like the International Phonetic Alphabet can be very helpful :)

What was Alex's transformation like? I mean, was he sick for a bit or how painful was the first reveal of fangs like?

Alex's transformation was a lengthy, agonizing, uncoordinated mess.

His brain would charge ahead of his body and assail him with instincts he didn't have the biology to utilize. This mostly manifested as a violent, insatiable hunger, his mind screaming for gore before he had the ability to digest it.

His insides would tear themselves apart, joints cracking and organs writhing. This would come and go in random flares of sickness, one episode being so bad he quite literally died in his sleep then woke up the next day with a cold, unbeating heart.

His eyes burned as they adjusted to nocturnal life, his tongue split open down the middle into its new forked shape. When his fangs and claws finally grew in they tore themselves free so violently that his face and hands were shredded to ribbons.

After all of that, is it really any wonder that he decided his friends would be better off dying at his jaws than changing as he had?

dr. forbes who is overtaken by a 17 yr long grief and lets it influence his every action, i love you. john colbie who sent his son away and can’t understand what’s wrong with him, i love you. helen colbie who also can’t understand what is wrong with her son but still keeps him close to her, i love you. martin mckenzie who is ruled by his pride and acts rashly in the name of doing what he believes to be right, i love you. sally rowe who tries so hard to stick by her rationality but allows her intuition to sway her better judgement, i love you. naive and sweet susan who fancied a school boy which led to a death infinitely more brutal than what she had deserved for such an innocent gesture of affection, i love you. josh campbell who was foolishly loyal and willingly followed alex into reckless midnight excursions to reclaim self control + as a form of disobedience towards his parents who assigned him a career path of politics and presumably had his entire life planned out for him, i love you. raj mehta who was relatively reclusive and abandoned his friend group the second he foresaw trouble in the distance, i fucking love you. mr. fergus, with a passion for teaching, who assists and adores each of his students and answers alex’s questions regardless of how abstract they are, i love you. matthew mills who sucks at writing essays and sees the school play of Becket to the end even after the leading counterpart is disemboweled and they had yet to find the killer, i love you too. boy on train who holds something strangely reminiscent of nigel which could perhaps be the faint detection of a psychotic undercurrent under a facade of peace and regality- or even just the aura of a doomed future/outcome alongside alex, i love you.
