dr. forbes who is overtaken by a 17 yr long grief and lets it influence his every action, i love you. john colbie who sent his son away and can’t understand what’s wrong with him, i love you. helen colbie who also can’t understand what is wrong with her son but still keeps him close to her, i love you. martin mckenzie who is ruled by his pride and acts rashly in the name of doing what he believes to be right, i love you. sally rowe who tries so hard to stick by her rationality but allows her intuition to sway her better judgement, i love you. naive and sweet susan who fancied a school boy which led to a death infinitely more brutal than what she had deserved for such an innocent gesture of affection, i love you. josh campbell who was foolishly loyal and willingly followed alex into reckless midnight excursions to reclaim self control + as a form of disobedience towards his parents who assigned him a career path of politics and presumably had his entire life planned out for him, i love you. raj mehta who was relatively reclusive and abandoned his friend group the second he foresaw trouble in the distance, i fucking love you. mr. fergus, with a passion for teaching, who assists and adores each of his students and answers alex’s questions regardless of how abstract they are, i love you. matthew mills who sucks at writing essays and sees the school play of Becket to the end even after the leading counterpart is disemboweled and they had yet to find the killer, i love you too. boy on train who holds something strangely reminiscent of nigel which could perhaps be the faint detection of a psychotic undercurrent under a facade of peace and regality- or even just the aura of a doomed future/outcome alongside alex, i love you.

Yeah, I also think Alex's father is deeply in grief. But I also really see the effects of growing up in the British boarding school system, with the "stiff upper lip", emotions and weakness aren't allowed. Alex's father was probably raised the same way. I think he is very proud and overbearing.

I don't think he wants to hurt Alex, but 1) he doesn't know how to show his love for Alex. 2) He is raising Alex to take his place at the top of British society, being a Good and Responsible Father in the way he's expected to be, and how he understands it.

Alex clearly rebels against the expectations placed on him, including by openly expressing strong emotions instead of keeping his composure. But IMHO you can still see psychological effects of the boarding school in him. Nigel is a lot more like Alex, and all the students, are expected to be.

something very interesting to me about the poorly choreographed violence in like minds particularly in regards to alex’s father. like you can just TELL that that actor does not want to hurt that kid and it honestly influences the way he plays this character who i think is TEXTUALLY meant to be a very proud and overbearing man but who comes off more as someone so deeply mired in grief that he can barely stand to look at his own son.

Gotham City Sirens returns this August from DC, but this time it has a Wild Wild Twist!

S/O: Damon Salvatore.

Species: Vampire - Human - Vampire. (Stay with me it'll make more sense.)

Family: The Gilberts. (My adoptive family.) The Mikaelsons. (My biological family.)

Backstory: In 1790's one of our mothers witches were hunting us down. She wanted to make everything right again and she had apparently found a spell that would reset our lives centuries ahead. Of course me and Becca didn't believe that was true until we found that Klaus, Elijah, and Kol had left town leaving us behind. That's when Becca started panicking I didn't really panic not yet at least. But none less she made me take off and go into hiding cause for some reason the witch was going after me first. (Even though I was the least dangerous. Maybe that was the reason though.) I run until I get to Chicago I was starving so I had to get something to eat. I had tried to compel a girl just to realize she has vervain after. But before I could take off the witch had found me sadly. She injected me with vervain making me lose consciousness.

When I woke up I was tied to a chair and the rope around me was laced in vervain so I couldn't get out of them. She basically told me that once my life was restarted I wouldn't remember anything until I was turned again. (Thank you Katherine for turning me even though it was to get back at Elena.) So basically she did the spell and unfortunately the spell worked.

And then in the winter of 1983 I was found on the step of an orphanage and I was about a month old at the time. A few weeks later the Gilberts come and Miranda and Greyson adopt me.

And we all know what happens after that. It basically begins (not really though.) my crazy life.
