What is a Character's Psychology?
A character's psychology is shaped by their background, motivations, and traits. It is destined to evolve throughout your story as the character faces challenges that will impact them.
• The Starting Point
At the beginning of your narrative, a character's psychology largely reflects the past events that have shaped them. These experiences determine their motivations and personality.
• The Disruptive Element
Beyond the main plot, a disruptive element will significantly alter the character's psychology. They will need to confront their fears, traumas, and internal barriers to resolve the conflict.
• The Turning Points
During the various turning points in the story, the character's psychology should evolve the most. These challenges will help them grow, enabling them to face the final trial during the climax.
• Don’t Rush the Development!
To maintain coherence, each evolution must be justified by specific events. A turning point can serve as a crucial element in this development. If your character changes too quickly, the story may reach its climax prematurely, reducing the overall tension.
To assist in this process, establish a starting point and an endpoint for your characters’ psychology, along with the events that will facilitate their growth.
• In-Depth Psychology
How to Achieve It? The key to deep psychology is justification. Every action of your hero should be backed by some aspect of their psychology to create a coherent whole. While this justification doesn't need to be explicitly stated in the narrative, it should be clear to you to ensure the credibility of the character's actions.
A character's psychology encompasses many crucial aspects, such as their moods, emotions, and motivations. To create a well-rounded and believable character, it is essential that their psychology is as rich and thorough as possible. However, keep in mind that "deep" doesn't necessarily mean "complex," though complex characters can be more engaging to read about.

I wish I knew this in my early 20s:
I promise.. these advices r gold.
You don't have to achieve everything ASAP.. Take your time.. don't put too much pressure on urself about ur career. Because ur career plans / interests might change by ur mid 20s..
Self help books >>>> fictional shit .. if u hate to read.. there r always audio books on YouTube or torrents 😝.
There is nothing wrong with being or wanting to be in a relationship... All those uncles and aunties r just manipulating us into believing that it's a bad thing / taboo. (*In Indian household*).. and by ur mid 20s.. these mfs ask u.. y u didn't find someone for urself. 🙄😒. So don't listen to them.. ever.
Some men r just pussies. Girls should not be afraid of making the move. Society will look at u like u r shit... But don't be afraid of doing what is right for u. (*In Indian household*)
There is nothing wrong with having male friends.. tbh.. they r so much better than female friends. They don't beat around the bush and they r extremely honest.. do not hide them or treat them like a secret.. it's nothing to be ashamed of. (*In Indian household*)
Don't give another chance to someone who belittled u or insulted u or provoked u... They will do it again.. they r wired to be assholes.
The only way to deal with manipulative people (who make u doubt about yourself) is by... Cutting off their access to u. U r a diamond and not everyone deserves to access u.
God has a weird way of showing love... He teaches detachment before giving u what u want. If detachment happens... Just ask for forgiveness, genuinely mean it and change ur ways.
Clear, respectful and straightforward communication without involving any 3rd party / outsider... Will avoid any / every conflict / misunderstanding. It is the only way to start / maintain a healthy relationship.
When u feel off about some situation or person.. ur body will warn u.. through tummy aches or shivers...etc.,.. listen to ur body. Ur body is intuitive about energies & happenings.
Animals have the power to heal u.. just feed them and love them.
Always use sunscreen.. purchase only the best quality sunscreen.
Don't tell ur plans to anyone. Not everyone is a supporter. There are people who are mentally fucked up enough to devote themselves to ruining ur plans.
Money spent on learning something or experiencing something or eating something is never wasted.
Enemies >>>>>> than friends who r secretly ur haters. As soon as u detect ur secret hater.. cut them from ur life(*aggressively*).
To those without a parent (passed away) or with an absent parent: Don't search for ur mom or ur dad in a romantic relationship. Not only will u be disappointed af... A partner can never replace ur parent. It's common sense - Parent and partner r 2 separate people.
Don't worry about someone that treated u like an option or Plan - B (been there.. it hurts like hell).. TBH.. by letting go of those who didn't / don't value u.. u r clearing the path to find someone who will prioritize u. Be patient and be positive.

What do you use to draw with? Like what device and drawing app? I finally graduated high school and want to get back to drawing and maybe start posting it but I wanted some advice
Hi~
I'm just gonna go and give you my full setup (plus health advices coz trust me they're important).
These days I use an IPad Pro 11" and Procreate. My friend has the bigger version but I hurt my elbow using it because it made my moves too big, so I settled for the littler version. I suggest you chose based on your feelings for that. If you want a bigger screen to see more of your work, it's perfectly valid.
If you do take those two, I suggest you also take the ICloud save. (I have the 200Go save and that's only 3€ a month, but the 50Go save in free!) Should your IPad eventually break, you'll be able to retrieve ALL your art files from the Cloud, which is a huge lifesaver!
(I used to use a simple computer plus graphic tablet plus Adobe Photoshop, but it kept crashing so much that I had one too many rage quits. Plus it's super expensive since it's subscription based, and nowadays they take your art from the Adobe Cloud to feed their AI, so I can't really recommend that. Photoshop is an excellent tool but the direction Adobe is taking does NOT suit me.)
For brushes I just use the default Procreate Pencil. For the eraser I use Syrup, which is found in the default Inking Brush set.
My base canvases are 4000x4000px with a DPI of 300 (I suggest you improve the DPI if you do illustrations or really precise work. I only do little fanarts and comics with that DPI). For posting online please be careful to chose an RGB color profile (I use the default Display D3). If you ever want to print though, you should chose a CMYK color profile (I use the Generic CMYK Profile then).
Now back to the real world! I'm going to strongly suggest you make sure your paper/computer/screen is at least at an angle, at best right in front of your face. The least pressure you have to put on your neck (bending), the better it will be. If you do traditional art, I'll suggest actual art tables that you can adjust in size and angle. Here's mine.
To prevent any pain in my thumb I use one of those hold-helpers thingies kids use to hold their pens properly! It increases the size of the grip which prevents from holding the pen too tight (trust me, it's important). You can also find special tape to roll around your pen if you need an even bigger grip.
I wish I had a proper desk and chair because that will also be very important for your posture and health, but rn I'm not in my own flat so eh. What I'll encourage you to do instead are stretches and exercises BEFORE and AFTER an art session. Fingers, wrist, elbow, shoulder, back, neck. If you want to avoid medical costs (masseur, kine, osteopath) you need to take great care of your body. You can also find little self-massaging gadgets in sports shops to help with your muscles.
(Talking from experience there. I'm only 25 and I already had to undergo surgery on my writing wrist because I f*ed up. Your health is important!)
I'm aware most of those are extremely expensive to get (it took me half a year of intense working and savings just to get the IPad) but I've found that they were 100% worth it in the end. It's alright to get things little by little if you feel they are going to be important for you. I strongly suggest you invest in your health first though!
Once you have decided on your preferred setup, I guess the only thing left to do is train, experiment and have fun!
I think that's all? If you need more advices on setups or art or whatever, I'd be happy to help, my DMs are always open!
Also congrats on graduating highschool!
#that's probably a lot more than you asked for lol#I'm physically incapable of giving simple answers sorry#ask me anything#art setup#health#advices#art tips

Do you have any advice for this newbie to the art?
Heyo ! So I'll be real quick because I think it's better to make a good post for that kind of advices, but a few things :
If you want to learn to draw, drawin regularly is important, doesn't have to be every day but that's cool if you can do it often :)
Sketchbooks to doodle things around you are really great to improve, learn to be fast, and learn to be more precise (no crtl + z aha)
Speaking of digital, I personally recommend learning on paper first, but that's my opinion. I think you take better habits on paper than on tablet. But that really depends of people
It's fine to copy stuff at the beginning, I did it and it helped me ! (I learned to draw alone since I'm a kid, basically I'm self taught so I used horse magazines to learn to draw horses for example aha)
There's a lot of other advices to give but that's already a few useful things, hope that helps :)

HOW TO CREATE A GOOD CHARACTER FOR YOUR STORY?
Max Slevogt, Memento Mori (1884)
When embarking on writing, it is essential to create memorable and engaging characters to capture the audience's interest and bring the story to life. A good character is one who evolves throughout the plot and helps make the narrative believable and compelling.
Here are some tips to help you create realistic characters:
• Give Them a Life
Your characters should feel alive. They need to have a backstory, a history, and a present life. Even if not everything is revealed in the narrative, you should have a detailed understanding of their past, like friends or foes you interact with. They should have a childhood, a birthplace, friendships, doubts, and experiences. In short, make them multidimensional.
• Emotions Matter
Your characters experience various emotions. Clearly define their temperament, desires, and uncertainties. Whether they are shy, ambitious, or hot-tempered, these traits should be evident in their actions and gestures. Don’t just describe their feelings; show them through their behavior and reactions.
• Establish Clear Goals
Each character must serve a purpose in the story. What role do they play? Why are they in this book? Are they the hero? What do they contribute to the protagonist? Characters can have goals, aspirations, and dreams. It’s up to you to give them a direction. They should drive the plot rather than exist without a clear purpose.
• Develop Distinct Personalities
This is a crucial yet challenging aspect. Each character should be easily identifiable through their actions, reactions, and dialogues, even without naming them. Their unique traits should shine through, particularly in dialogue. Each character should have their own way of speaking, which takes practice and experience to master.
• Make Them Imperfect
Your characters should not be flawless or one-dimensional. They need vulnerabilities, doubts, moments of anger or failure. They should experience pain and emotion. In essence, make them feel real, just like people are not perfect.
• Avoid Clichés
Clichés are predictable and bland. While some can be acceptable, especially in certain genres like romance, it’s often better to break the mold and create fresh situations. Given the vast number of published stories, strive for originality and inject your unique perspective into each narrative.
• Introduce Characters Gradually
Don’t reveal all aspects of a character at the beginning. Introduce elements gradually through situations and chapters. Unfold their likes, physical traits, and desires over time, rather than presenting a complete profile in the first chapter.
• Explore Their Psychology
Understanding psychology can enhance character development. While some may find it intuitive, others might need to research to analyze their characters’ minds. There are books and resources available to assist you in this process.
• Visualize Their Appearance
While it’s not always necessary to describe your characters' looks in detail, having a clear vision helps. Consider their hair length, skin tone, ethnicity, tattoos, and physical build. Whether you imagine them vividly or use reference images, having a precise idea aids in their portrayal.
• Character Arc
Every character has their own arc, indicating their evolution throughout the story. Consider the challenges they face, where they start, and where they end up. A character shouldn’t undergo sudden changes; their development should be logical and gradual, maintaining coherence.
• Identify Their Flaw
Characters should have a flaw—a personal struggle or internal conflict. This flaw can be psychological (self-destructive behavior) or moral (causing harm to others). They may also be haunted by an internal ghost, such as a trauma affecting their relationships or self-perception.
• Distinguish Between Author and Character
As writers, we often infuse our own experiences and emotions into our characters. However, it’s important to remember that you are not the protagonist (unless writing a biography). Create characters with their own flaws, traits, and reactions that set them apart from you.
(if you want me to enrich some of the point you can leave it in my ask and I will make a post for this particular point)

What advices should you hear from this May?
Hello guys, here are some piles for you to choose and receive advices for this May. What kind of activity and vibe should you try this month? What will let you understand more about yourself and improve your journey? Let's figure it out in this reading.
Here are three piles, pick your pile:
Pile 1 =====> Pile 2 =====> Pile 3
.
.
.
.
Pile 1: Make a meal, Chanting, Make a vision board, Pleasure, Message, Music
I can see a healing energy here with a lot of self-improving activities in pile 1. The main advice we can see here is:
Relax a bit can make no harm
Relaxing seems to be a problem to you all the time. You are exhausted and hopeless with your stubborn choices. Sometimes, it seems to be extremely hard to focus on relax and just playing. The advices for this May is leave your worry besides and relaxing with every aspect of life.
Relax with you diet, eat what you love and pay more attention to what you eat. Be grateful for your food and avoid overthinking while eating.
Relax with your voice. You are careless with your words lately which causes a lot of argument between you and your beloved people. Try to talk with gratefulness and tell people how much you care or love them. Remember to say great things to yourself too.
Relax means do not let your other thoughts mess with you. Make a vision board for worry times and pay attention to it only in that hours.
Try to do things you love, relax with some spa day or in a resort while you can enjoy the massaging.
Music is important. Try to avoid some hardcore music which can stress you. Listening to some soft music can help you feel better.
Pile 2: Sweet treat, Burning bowl ritual, Abundance planning, Read, Rest, Connect with ancestors
My dear friends, pile 2 sends you advices about dig deep into nostalgic phase. In general, the advice is about:
Moving forward needs former forces.
We are all moving into the future, where we are hopefully wiser and more professional. However, sometimes spending time drowning in the idea of future can frighten us. This may advices you to look back into your past to understand and tighten your bond with present.
This pile has a lot of connection with the activities related to elders like sweet treats and connect with ancestors. These activities will let you to see your self as a younger child, to be carefree and loved by older people.
Try to connect with your past by writing down and burning your words. You can burn it by actual fire or only with the fire of your heart. No matter what way, your choice will help you to understand more about yourself and understand that living in this moment with a heart full of fire is more important than any future imagination.
Your expenditure can reflect what your needs and how you treat yourself. Analyse your money and try to spend it with intention. Make an abundance planning can help you to control better.
Reading and rest and stillness activities which require you to stay in one place and escape in other world. Pay more attention to what you read and your dream to enjoy these time more.
Pile 3: Movement, Watch a movie, Intuition, Be still , Sex, Look for fairies
What a joyful time with pile 3. Your May will tell you an advice to:
Play as hard as you can.
Enough movement can create the be present status effortlessly. Your advice is very simple but hard enough to actually make it real. This May you needs to connect with your joyful self and play to let yourself feel like you move in the same speed with light.
Play your best with your needs of movement. Move your physical, mental and spiritual self.
Move your physical with some pleasant feeling or by satisfying your fetish. Remember the key point that movement you physical, not your thoughts. You move for yourself at this moment, not for your past or future. Be still with yourself right now.
Watching a movie and focusing on intuition to connect with your mental self. Looking at life with a wilder perspective by rely on intuition and sometimes, try a vision from a movie you watch lately.
With you spiritual self, let yourself believe in fantasy. Life can be unpredictable and full of mystery but it doesn't that bad things will come. You can be happy and will be full of happy even when you are live in a kind of ethereal moment.

Being selfish is a selfless act!!
Be selfish because if you're not looking after yourself FIRST, there's no way you can take care of anyone after. It's logical.
"you have to fill your own cup first before you fill anyone else's"
If you don't happen to "meet people's expectations" because you just refused them in order to protect yourself. It's not selfish. Stop giving in to the manipulators and narcissists.
Being selfish does not mean not putting yourself out there, not helping people, not being kind to people etc. being selfish means you're protective of your boundaries and not letting ANYONE and I mean NO ONE, step inside of it. Being selfish means taking care of yourself first so you can be emotionally and mentally capable enough to take care of someone who needs you. Because if you do not protect your boundaries and energy first how do you expect to help anyone else? You cannot ever just give and give and give your whole life away to people. You need to be there for yourself. Be there for yourself like no one else is there for you. Be kind to yourself before you are kind to you. You can't love someone until you live yourself first.
Stay safe my babies 🩷
