A new treatment combining ReCET and semaglutide could eliminate the need for insulin in type 2 diabetes, with 86% of participants in a study no longer requiring insulin therapy. The treatment was safe and well-tolerated, and further trials are planned to confirm these results.
Groundbreaking research presented at UEG Week 2024 introduces a promising new treatment approach for type 2 diabetes (T2D) that has the potential to greatly reduce or even eliminate the need for insulin therapy.
This innovative approach, which combines a novel procedure known as ReCET (Re-Cellularization via Electroporation Therapy) with semaglutide, resulted in the elimination of insulin therapy for 86% of patients.
Globally, T2D affects 422 million people... While insulin therapy is commonly used to manage blood sugar levels in T2D patients, it can result in side effects... and further complicate diabetes management. [Note: Also very importantly it's fucking bankrupting people who need it!!] A need therefore exists for alternative treatment strategies.
Study Design and Outcomes
The first-in-human study included 14 participants aged 28 to 75 years, with body mass indices ranging from 24 to 40 kg/m². Each participant underwent the ReCET procedure under deep sedation, a treatment intended to improve the body’s sensitivity to its own insulin. Following the procedure, participants adhered to a two-week isocaloric liquid diet, after which semaglutide was gradually titrated up to 1mg/week.
Remarkably, at the 6- and 12-month follow-up, 86% of participants (12 out of 14) no longer required insulin therapy, and this success continued through the 24-month follow-up. In these cases, all patients maintained glycaemic control, with HbA1c levels remaining below 7.5%.
Tolerability and Safety
The maximum dose of semaglutide was well-tolerated by 93% of participants, one individual could not increase to the maximum dose due to nausea. All patients successfully completed the ReCET procedure, and no serious adverse effects were reported.
Dr Celine Busch, lead author of the study, commented, “These findings are very encouraging, suggesting that ReCET is a safe and feasible procedure that, when combined with semaglutide, can effectively eliminate the need for insulin therapy.”
“Unlike drug therapy, which requires daily medication adherence, ReCET is compliance-free [meaning: you don't have to take it every day], addressing the critical issue of ongoing patient adherence in the management of T2D. In addition, the treatment is disease-modifying: it improves the patient’s sensitivity to their own (endogenous) insulin, tackling the root cause of the disease, as opposed to currently available drug therapies, that are at best disease-controlling.”
Looking ahead, the researchers plan to conduct larger randomized controlled trials to further validate these findings. Dr. Busch added, “We are currently conducting the EMINENT-2 trial with the same inclusion and exclusion criteria and administration of semaglutide, but with either a sham procedure or ReCET. This study will also include mechanistic assessments to evaluate the underlying mechanism of ReCET.”
-via SciTechDaily, October 17, 2024
--
Note: If it works even half as well as suggested, this could free so many people from the burden of the ongoing ridiculous cost of insulin. Pharma companies that make insulin can go choke (hopefully).

the sweetest symphony
alexia putellas x reader; this story is +18.
The Barcelona night pulsated with a rhythmic hum, a symphony of honking taxis and distant laughter that usually lulled Alexia into a peaceful sleep. Tonight, however, the city's vibrant melody was a cruel counterpoint to the hollowness beside her. You were gone, swallowed by a business trip and a time difference that felt like an ocean separating you. Days, it felt like a lifetime.
The king-sized bed, usually a haven of shared warmth and tangled limbs, felt like a vast, uncharted territory. Alexia, the woman who commanded stadiums and dictated the pace of the game, felt utterly adrift without your anchor. She was a creature of touch, thriving on the unspoken language of intertwined fingers and playful nudges against her side. The silence in the apartment was suffocating, broken only by the relentless tick of the clock on the nightstand mocking her with its cruel 3:14 AM display.
She tossed and turned, the sheets cool and impersonal. Her mind, usually laser-focused on the upcoming season's strategies, drifted down a familiar path. Memories of nights spent entangled in your embrace filled her head like a silent movie. You, sprawled contentedly over her, a mischievous twinkle in your eyes that earned you the endearing nickname "koala" for your unwavering adherence to her side.
But tonight, the memory morphed, taking a more heated turn. A slow grind against her thigh, deliberate and calculated, sent a familiar jolt of electricity through her. The whisper of your lips against her neck, a brand that ignited a fire in her core, left her skin tingling with the phantom touch. Her hand, drawn by an insatiable need, found its way south.
"Yeah, amor, right there," she murmured into the empty space, the words echoing hollowly in the vast expanse of the bed. You always praised her, those words a sweet nectar that heightened her pleasure during your intimate moments. A small smile played on her lips. It had been one of your greatest triumphs, chipping away at the wall of control she'd built so meticulously around herself. Learning to be vulnerable, to let you see her deepest desires, had been a revelation.
The thought of your hands taking over, exploring her with a knowing touch, sent a shiver down her spine. "Don't stop," she whispered, her voice husky and urgent. You knew exactly where to find her sweet spots, your touch a map etched into her memory. Her voice, usually strong and composed even in the throes of competition, became a desperate plea, the vulnerability exhilarating and terrifying in equal measure.
The room grew thick with heat, the air thick with her increasingly ragged breaths. Her hair, escaping its secure braid, became a halo of damp curls clinging to her forehead. Her moans, a melody you'd once described as "the sweetest symphony," echoed off the silent walls, an arousing counterpoint to the city's lullaby.
As the climax surged through her, a wave of pure, unadulterated pleasure, it was followed by a crushing wave of loneliness. She curled onto your side of the bed, burying her face in the pillow that still held a faint trace of your cologne. It wasn't the same. It was a pale imitation of the real thing, a cruel reminder of the warmth and comfort you brought.
Exhaustion eventually claimed her, sleep a welcome thief stealing her away from the emptiness. But the battle with the lonesome sheets would continue until your return. In her dreams, though, you'd be there, close and warm, erasing the ache of your absence. The wait would be long, but the memory of your touch, the echo of your voice whispering sweet nothings, would serve as a beacon. A promise of the passionate reunion that awaited you both, a reminder of the connection that transcended the miles and the cold, impersonal sheets.

So, considering what's going on with Riot right now, do you think Arcane Season 2 got caught up in all of this restructuring?
Yes and no. Arcane season 2 is part of the reason for the restructuring.
As I understand it, internally at Riot, after Arcane was a huge (and more importantly: prestigious!) success, the decision was made to basically hand the entirety of the game's lore and story over to the Entertainment division within Riot. These are the people in large part responsible for projects like Arcane, K/DA, Heartsteel, that animated series China got, all that sort of thing.
The writers at Riot were basically told to flat out stop producing new content and lore for the game - that's why there's BEEN no new story content for League for over a year - because everything was going to be consolidated under the Entertainment division from now on. This is why Riot started talking about "One Runeterra" and "Arcane is going to be canon" and so on.
The success of Arcane convinced executives that what League of Legends needs is a singular cohesive brand with its most successful public property leading the charge, Arcane is going to be the gateway drug, the hook on the end of the line that brings new players and new paying customers into the exciting world of the League of Legends multimedia IP universe!
Nevermind that Arcane's story and worldbuilding is fundamentally incompatible with >checks notes< the overwhelming majority of Runeterra as it exists and enormous compromises would have to be made to either the world of Runeterra or Arcane itself to make it work. Arcane is the big shiny prestigious mainstream Emmy-award winning project that every executive wants to put their name next to, and like companies Pivoting To Video in 2015 because Facebook showed them inflated viewership stats, Riot Games is Pivoting To Arcane. It's better than them pivoting to crypto and NFTs, at least, although I know for a fact that high ranking people at Riot tried to make that happen too.
Now, the primary cause for all of these games industry layoffs is that interest rates aren't zero anymore. Borrowing money isn't free, the curve of constant growth has ever so slightly slowed, taking on debt is becoming a little tiny bit more risky than it was previously, and corporations are responding to this with massive rounds of layoffs and constriction to show "financial responsibility" and prove to shareholders that they are prioritizing core growth strategies and blah blah blah etc. They're also trying to kneecap the growing labor movement in the games industry and exert downwards pressure on wages, but the interest rates seem to have been the main thing.
In Riot's particular case, a secondary reason is they want to pivot the focus of the company to support their One Runeterra pipe dream, so a lot of the people who got fired at Riot are writers, artists, creative leads and sometimes extremely senior and successful staff who are now surplus to requirements. This is also why Riot shut down Riot Forge in the same round of layoffs - can't have a bunch of talented indie devs going off making video games that don't adhere to the new One Runeterra policy. What if someone played Mageseeker and got confused how there can be mages all over Demacia but somehow there are no mages in Arcane's Piltover and Zaun. That's a plot hole! People write snarky articles about that sort of thing. It turns off new consumers! What if Cinema Sins makes a video making fun of it?!?
So yeah. A bunch of cocaine-addled fame hungry executive vultures at Riot are absolutely gagging on their own d*cks to put their name next to Arcane related projects, and since they were going to be screwing hundreds of people out of their careers, healthcare, and in some cases their fucking visa status anyway, it seems to have presented a nice opportunity to clear the board for their latest Visionary Scheme for the company IP.
That is as I understand the situation, anyway. I'm a bitter old man and most of what I hear is second hand and anonymous gossip through my social networks, take what I say with a grain of salt, but I've followed this company for (oh god) twelve years now and I have developed a tragically keen understanding of how its executive class operates.

To my parole officer, I am sorry. I didn't last very long at the Honda dealership. Too many people wanted me to sell them cars that they didn't need. If I can be accused of a crime, it's honesty. And also I stole a lot of snacks out of the customer coffee section, but I'm pretty sure that's below the threshold to be prosecutable. Strictly small-claims-court shit.
I'm sure you've attempted to buy a car, or at least fantasized about it. One of the peculiar aspects of our civilization is that everyone is expected to have at least one chunk of steel that weighs between two and ten thousand pounds, which they use to go to the grocery store. Because of the inherent paranoia of our society, folks buying cars gravitate towards the heavy ones that make them feel big and strong and immune to consequences. They are, in their modern-day tank, protected from every other dipshit on the road, who is also driving a heavy vehicle that makes them feel big and strong and immune to consequences.
Someone needed to break this cycle. Politicians won't – telling folks they should buy a slightly smaller, or lighter, or more fun car is career suicide. Most people, despite their claims to be rational, research-guided adherents to Reason, actually buy cars based on the dealership experience and The Holy Test Drive. That's where I inserted myself, to tell everyone maybe to buy a slightly smaller car.
Now, I'm no dummy. I understood the value of margins, especially as they affected my commission. They were still the same value of car, but much smaller and more fun. No, where I think I went wrong was my sales strategy.
Placing a child-sized mannequin, pumped full of pressurized ketchup (courtesy of the Burger King across the street, it takes forever to steal all those little packets,) in the blind spot of a large vehicle during a test drive. That was a faulty plan. Backing over a humanoid water balloon full of tomato entrails may make great television, but it doesn't endear people to buy a smaller car after all. If it wasn't for all the bribes I took to "make all this go away," I wouldn't have made any money at all in this job.

Pls loredump Abt ur new all for the war au
THE MOMENT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!
everyone keep up it’s a doozy☝️
Tumblr media
TW: mentions of abuse, torture, human trafficking, assault, murder, and lots of violence ⚠️
Some facts to keep in mind: Based on a draft for a novel I am working on, despite Milo being in this AU it is not 100% based on the Milo fic and has some changes to adhere to my novel, this novel is fantasy with light magic aspects and more godly mythology aspects (so not everyone can do magic cuz it’s more like witchcraft or godly blessings/curses), Neil is sort of intersex (or at least a version of it in this fantasy world) This also isn’t the full story, I left some stuff out because I don’t think I can get through every microscopic detail
The war started when Palmetto country was harassed for the last time. The Moriyamas had sent another army to pass through, use their resources, and bully their citizens. So Palmetto decided enough was enough and declared war. It was Kayleigh Day that accepted and decided to fight back (otherwise the Moriyamas would have closed their boarders and just ignored Palmetto)
David Wymack was in charge of the Palmetto army and fought a long and hard battle against Kayleigh and the Moriyamas defenses. Eventually, they’d met in person and become frenemies. Kayleigh was pregnant with Kevin and after many interactions and conversations with Wymack, decided the war wasn’t worth it. She didn’t want Kevin to grow up surrounded by meaningless bloodshed.
The Moriyamas did not stand for her decision. She started this, she has to end it. They tasked Tetsuji, her closest friend and family, to kill her. Tetsuji did so and raised Kevin as one of his own (alongside Riko) Kevin was told his mother was assassinated by the other side and her war is now his.
So Kevin trained hard, studied war and battle strategy, and worked to finish what his mother started.
Along his journey to becoming the ‘hero’ the Moriyama empire needed, he trained alongside Riko who he considered a brother, and was given two friends; Nathaniel, a young boy belonging to a war driven family aka the House of Slaughter who were well known battle strategists, and later Jean, a teen belonging to a wealthy family aka the House of Pride who were known to own lots of ships and traveling resources.
Nathaniel was always promised to Tetsuji’s unit since his birth. Riko let Kevin have him so Kevin could make a warrior out of him. And, after all, what’s Kevin’s is Riko’s and what’s Riko’s is always Riko’s.
Jean was betrothed to Kevin when he’d completed his first mission. Kevin assumed it’s what Jean wanted since the Moreau family has always been stuck up about letting other families marry into theirs. Their children are picky and if Jean was his fiancé, it had to mean Jean chose him. But Kevin was oblivious to how little Jean mattered to his family.
Nathaniel grew up with Kevin as a brother figure and a mentor. They trained and studied together and snuck away with Riko and Jean to get into childish shenanigans. But every weekend, Nathaniel would need to go home for Wesninski family training where they’d torture him. It was meant to train Nathaniel in interrogation, both how to survive one and how to conduct one. On his first day back, the Moriyamas would hurt him so that he wouldn’t forget to fear them too. Kevin was just as obvious to this and assumed Nathaniel was just very weak and prone to injury.
Eventually, when Nathaniel was 13, he and Kevin got into a fight about how distracted Nathaniel had been these days. He’d kept sneaking off to hang out with some secret friends of his or to follow Riko around. Kevin assumed Nathaniel was purposely getting sloppy and tore into him. Nathaniel had definitely been getting away with those other soldiers, content to let them treat him to food and (appropriate)entertainment in the town. It was an escape from Kevin’s pressure on him and Riko’s abuse behind closed doors (which is why Nathaniel was often following him around)
Kevin said some things he didn’t mean and told Nathaniel to be at the training grounds for night practice or else. Nathaniel left to hang out with the soldiers so he could vent about Kevin’s attitude. He meant to show up for night practice but the soldiers had held him hostage and assaulted him until morning.
Nathaniel had Wesninski training the next day and was gone for two days and an extra day with the Moriyamas abuse. Before he could attempt to go to Kevin, Riko had locked him in his room as punishment for not seeing Riko before he left. When he was finally let out before the next week started, Kevin had to be fuming.
Nathaniel went to Kevin to explain or make up for his absence but running into Riko reminded him that even if he reported it, the soldiers wouldn’t even get a slap on the wrist. Nathaniel was property and if Riko didn’t care that they’d touched him, neither would any other Moriyama. So he showed up to the training grounds to lie about his whereabouts and it set Kevin off.
Kevin laid into him about his sloppiness and hit Nathaniel where it hurts. Kevin decided he had enough and Nathaniel wasn’t cut out to be a soldier so he quit as his mentor. Nathaniel of course had argued back and twisted the knife (metaphorical) into Kevin as a final word. They got into a bit of a tussle in which Kevin slice Nathaniel across the face as the final ‘we’re done’. Nathaniel left the castle grounds for some space and hid away for a week when he’d realized something was wrong. He was pregnant.
Knowing what the Moriyamas would do to him and how they would have decided to use this to their advantage, Nathaniel decided to leave the country. He changed his name and disguised himself (with the help of his mother) so he could go to Palmetto. Renee, a solider who helps people escape from the war and settle down into Palmetto, picked Neil out of the crowd instantly. They had to test him since being pregnant allows extra comforts and resources and many people try to fool them for it every day.
Neil was kept under constant watch by Andrew, a fellow soldier and friend of Renee’s. They talked every day, Neil never giving up any information and doing his best to take scraps of info about the war from Andrew. Eventually, Neil was far along enough for a doctor, Abby, to examine him and prove he was with child. The information wasn’t a blessing to Neil and only made him more bitter and hostile towards the Foxes (soldiers of palmetto tasked with guarding the farms that those with pregnancies stay at) Neil was allowed privacy but that was a favor from Andrew after Neil gave him a truth.
Neil had planned to use the comforts provided for pregnant ppl until Milo was born and he could just give him up and move on with his life. Andrew knew and because no one asked, he never told any of the other Foxes. Andrew would give Neil reports about the ongoing war, they’d play their truths game, and ofc Andrew would just do his duties as a guard.
When Milo was born, Neil decided to keep him, afraid to end up alone in this new country. While recovering, Neil could not stand the Foxes reckless and messy teamwork during battles and provided them with better plans and instructions while in bed rest. Dan was eager to let him since his plans worked and made sense. When Neil recovered, he enlisted and Dan took him under her wing to train him to replace her.
Word got out about this new strategist of there’s and how ruthless he was. Kevin had not been out on the field (he’s one of few people allowed to switch back and forth between battlefield fighting and hq strategy) but Riko had.
Riko one day stormed back into hq to rant about Nathaniel being the new strategist. Kevin didn’t believe it and didn’t think it was a funny joke since everyone had assumed Nathaniel was dead. Kevin instantly geared up to meet them on the battlefield and fought him, using Nathaniel’s old habits to get him on his back and unmask him. Kevin was relieved to find him alive but confused as to why he was fighting for palmetto.
Neil kicked Kevin’s ass and told him to go back home, deciding to retreat for now. Kevin followed his lead in his state of shock. A week later, he received a note from Nathaniel to meet him by a certain lake they used to hang around as kids. There, he explained that he was no longer Nathaniel and he would not be coming back to the Moriyamas. They argued, Kevin begged for him to come back, he told him that the Moriyamas killed Mary for hiding him and her last words were that Nathaniel died, Nathaniel did not mention his assault or his son but threw his abuse in Kevin’s face before they calmed down and talked about nothing. Sunrise came around and Neil left.
Kevin had hopes of convincing Neil back and confided in Jean about his struggles. He told Riko to forgive Neil and naively hoped they could all just go back to normal.
Flash forward to Tetsuji having a mission for Kevin. Kevin, eager to prove himself, agreed to kill an enemies son. Tetsuji tells him to slow down before explaining that it’s a baby and not only is it a child, it is Nathaniel’s one and only son. Kevin begs and tries to convince Tetsuji to see another way, that Milo won’t be a threat, that they can’t do this to family. Tetsuji reminds him that Nathaniel is a traitor and no longer family and that if he cannot complete this mission, someone else (possibly Riko) will. Tetsuji does this to Kevin because he wants to ensure that Kevin is a Moriyama and just like when Tetsuji was ordered to kill a sister (Kayleigh) Kevin must kill a nephew (Milo)
Kevin suits up and heads to the farm where Milo lives, sneaking in with the help of the Moriyamas and a token Neil had given him in case Kevin ever wanted to escape to Palmetto (it was a coin with a fox on it that he’d flash towards any guards at the boarders, and they’d let him in) At the farm, Kevin loses his resolve because of how much Milo just looks like Neil. Kevin had first met Neil when he was three years old at a Wesninski banquet, that’s when Riko had gifted Kevin with the honor of training him. Neil moved in with them when he was eight years old, and started his physical training at 10. Kevin couldn’t fathom killing Milo when all he saw was Neil’s infant face at that banquet.
Kevin instead kidnapped Milo and taken him back to the Moriyamas castle where he begged Riko to convince Tetsuji to let them keep him. Riko had agreed instantly with ulterior motives to raise his own Wesnisnki weapon. They tutored Milo in battle strategy and while Kevin was away on the battlefield, Riko would hurt Milo.
Neil had gone to torturing the Moriyamas ppl to find information about Milo’s possible whereabouts. It had gotten bad enough that the Moriyamas were willing to just toss him back to Neil or even kill him to get rid of the evidence. Riko had a dumbass plan to send an infants mutilated body back to Neil with a threat. Kevin actually believed it to be Milo and had a mental breakdown about the loss until Riko revealed it was all a trick. Kevin began to realize how much of a monster Riko actually was.
Meanwhile, Neil stopped torturing the Moriyamas citizens and instead just started burning down their villages. At first, it seemed like a ridiculous act of grief and the Moriyamas opened their kingdoms city borders for the homeless to reside in temporarily. Once all of their ppl were in one place, Neil broke into the castle and gathered all the Moriyamas to make them beg for mercy.
Kevin was the only one to beg for forgiveness and accept any punishments Neil had to offer. Kevin hadn’t known where Riko hid Milo at the time and didn’t know if he should admit that Milo was in fact alive (after all, Kevin didn’t even have proof) when the Moriyamas made halfassed apologies for Neil’s loss, he told Kevin that he was an idiot and needed to stop treating Neil like a child. Then Neil set the entire city on fire as his men slaughtered as many women and children as they could. Kevin was forced to watch from a window and listen to the people’s screams as the city burned and bled. It was the first time Kevin saw Neil as a monster.
Neil then castrated the Moriyamas, killing Kengo and Ichirou and taking Tetsuji’s hands. Kevin was the only person unscathed because Neil knew how Kevin has the worst case of survivors guilt. Riko was the only person who escaped, hiding away until the next day when the fires died.
Tetsuji was meant to make Riko king now. He first ordered Kevin to kill Milo as a last act of vengeance and fear that Neil would discover the truth. Riko taunted him about it and went to sleep like a baby for his coronation the next day. Kevin almost did kill Milo before deciding to instead kill Riko in his sleep. Kevin took Milo and returned him to Neil’s men.
On his long journey to palmetto (now that the city is burned and the borders are back up Kevin must take the long way) Jean’s spirit follows him, talking to Kevin as he begins to believe he is going insane. He didn’t want to believe Jean was dead but it was the only answer. Tetsuji and his advisors slaughtered Jean for killing Riko. They didn’t bother investigating and brutally murdered him. Kevin eventually is able to return Milo and wanders between the borders, unable to return home or go to palmetto.
Neil later forgives Kevin (after a very long few years) and helps him connect with Wymack. While Kevin talks to Neil about his plans, he avoids the war and Neil never tells him that Tetsuji hung himself and the throne now belongs to Kevin. The war is coming to a close and Kevin needs to let it end before he can claim his title. Except, while Kevin is helping a few ppl escape to Palmetto, Milo (who is a teenager by now) tries to kill him, driving Kevin farther from both kingdoms. It’s why he never gets the news about the end of the war or Neil and Andrew’s brutal deaths.
Injured and weakened, Kevin tries to help as many people as he can as they all make way to palmetto. Crossing the river, Kevin is too injured from Milo’s attack to fight the ripples, causing Kevin to fall and bust his head open on a rock. Kevin drowns until he finally bleeds out.
As for Neil and Andrew, they were still on the war front the day the news of the end came. Neil was asked to help some villagers nearby their camp. He was tricked and captured and the villagers burned him alive for a day and a half. Nearing the second day, Andrew received word about Neil’s kidnapping. He was leaving their tent when he’d had a heart attack and died. Andrew was purposely poisoned so he wouldn’t avenge Neil’s death.
The only survivor of this story was Milo, who had trained himself for his parents war, who was tortured just to end it, who was kidnapped and separated from Neil, who didn’t even get to fight in it. Milo lived to tell their tale and was forced to face it alone.
The end.

A QUESTION OF LOYALTY XVII
Rhaenyra Targaryen x reader, Alicent Hightower x reader
Word count: 2.6k
Summary: When dragons of green and dragons of black dance, you have to choose the color that suits you best.
Note: Rhaenys, you Queen.
Tumblr media
"I fear this plan will not succeed," Addam said hesitantly. You had not yet had the opportunity to bond with him, yet the boy had grown fond of you. Having lost his older brother, he now saw you as a role model, and you found solace in the few moments you shared, reminiscent of your dear Laenor.
Rhaenyra appeared hesitant as well, though you endeavored to adhere to her strategy as closely as possible. Having her close and away from the tensions at the castle brought you relief, especially given the intense animosity between her and the dowager queen. Your feelings towards Alicent were conflicted; you loved her, but since the arrival of the silver-haired, your emotions had been in turmoil. You wondered why you had remained on the wrong side for so long—not due to a lack of care for Alicent or Helaena, but because you had always known Rhaenyra was being denied what was rightfully hers.
"Y/N," the queen spoke. They stood by the dock, awaiting Vhagar’s arrival. Aemond was impulsive, but seeing you there with Rhaenyra tempered his rashness. Though he suspected a trap, your presence allowed him to approach.
Perhaps he sought absolution.
The enormous dragon arrived, accompanied by the prince. Rhaenyra's expression was a mix of urgency, pain, and lingering anger, yet she maintained a calm, controlled demeanor.
"Sister," Aemond greeted briefly, looking at you, with Addam standing a few meters away. "My lady."
"Your mother has been asking about you," you said indifferently. He smiled slightly, as he often did.
"I don’t know if I am her greatest concern now, or if it’s still my brother. I don't believe this is an ambush; Vhagar and I have scouted the area. What are you seeking?"
"Fetch Aegon," the queen answered without hesitation.
"I have no idea where he is."
"Find him."
"I don’t take orders from you. You are not my queen."
"The city belongs to Rhaenyra, Aemond. Your closest allies are dead. Otto, Cole, and others have gone into hiding, knowing the fate that awaits them. Your younger brother Daeron is adamant into fighting. He would, out of duty, but I don’t want him to suffer the fate of so many others. It’s time to reach an agreement—that's why we are here now, even after everything." You concluded.
"How much longer will they tolerate the false queen?" he asked, but his eyebrows suggested a hidden sentiment, still being uninterested.
"You killed my son."
Aemond’s demeanor suddenly crumbled, his eyes freezing.
"I didn’t mean to do it." He looked back at the ground for a fleeting second.
"Find your brother and make him see reason. Your mother and Helaena are safe in King’s Landing. They will return to Oldtown."
"And we will be put to the sword, won’t we?" he asked incredulously.
"You will go to the Wall," she said.
“I’m not proud of what I’ve done, of what I took from you. Nothing will change that now; these are the choices we made. The throne is not yours; you are keeping it warm for the true king."
"And that’s what you want to be, isn’t it?" Rhaenyra stated rather than questioned.
"I don’t know what will become of my brother; he was gravely injured the last time I saw him. I don’t wish for him to be dead. But if the gods have so decided, my father had a second legitimate son."
You were not surprised by Aemond’s ambition for the throne; it had always been latent. Now, more than ever, it could manifest; he remained the greatest threat to the kingdom, though even with his formidable dragon, he was no match for all the dragons at the Queen’s disposal.
"Consider it, Aemond; this may be the last time. It is the last time," you urged, trying to reach him to no avail. He let out an arrogant snort and walked away.
He was broken, angry, and aimless. There was nothing more you could do, neither Rhaenyra, nor anyone.
Or was it?
When Aemond turned away and vanished from sight, you hastened to your own dragon. Silverwing awaited, as did Seasmoke and Syrax, though they stood a bit farther from yours. Swiftly, you mounted the silver beast and ascended into the sky. Vhagar was still visible, making its way to the other side of the hill. Due to its immense size, it was hard to lose view of it, so you urged Silverwing to pursue at a brisk pace.
Truth be told, this was not part of your plans, nor those of the queen. Yet, upon seeing him once more, a surge of desolation and deep-seated rancor overcame you, compelling you to attack. First, for your nephew, Lucerys, and for your late mother, Rhaenys, who had not long ago faced such a beast.
You had buried the memory, the vivid recollection of Vhagar cornering Meleys, of its enormous, razor-sharp teeth sinking into the neck of the Red Queen.
The images flashed back into your mind instantly, a harrowing vision of blood and your helplessness to intervene or change the dreadful outcome.
Unable to contain the hatred and impotence that had festered within you, you pursued the one-eyed prince.
“Dracarys.” You commanded in a single, resolute breath. Aemond did not see it coming; by the time he did, the fire had already erupted from your dragon’s maw, scorching part of Vhagar’s tail, who quickly wheeled around to face you.
In Aemond’s gaze, there was surprise and a clear frown of rage. Had it been a trap all along?
No, this was not premeditated. This was personal. He knew better than to try reducing you to ashes or to launch a fierce counterattack, though perhaps that was what he should have done.
It would not be an easy task, as Silverwing, though not matching Vhagar in size, was still a giant and seasoned dragon, unafraid even of the oldest and fiercest dragon.
Aemond growled, trying to evade the slashes Silverwing hurled, but a dragon disobeys its rider’s commands, does it not? Vhagar, enraged by the claws digging into its abdomen, let out a shrill scream and struck Silverwing hard, forcing it to retreat considerably. You held tight to the reins and lunged at him once more.
You wanted to end the prince’s life then and there, nothing else mattered but finishing off the one who had taken two loved ones from you. He had to pay; it was time.
Aemond managed to urge Vhagar onward, and when you were about to utter another Dracarys, another dragon emerged from the tall trees. At first, neither of you recognized who it was in the heat of the moment, until you realized it was Addam.
Relief washed over you that it wasn’t Rhaenyra coming to your aid, as you had rushed off so quickly earlier that you hadn’t even heard her.
However, you worried for young Addam; your rash course of action had led him to assist you, and when Seasmoke breathed fire, something ignited within the ancient dragon, making it lose all control that Aemond held over it, and Aemond himself decided to counterattack with his own fury and disdain.
In a blink, Vhagar tore off Seasmoke’s left wing. You, lunging at Vhagar’s exposed neck, managed to make it bleed profusely. Fire rained upon you, and you shielded yourself, dodging. You saw Seasmoke plummet. Vhagar charged, but you were faster. Silverwing’s claws sank into Vhagar’s earlier wound, causing great damage.
No longer determined to finish the matter then and there, you headed to where Seasmoke had descended, just as Syrax made its appearance, trying to provide aid. Vhagar and its rider fled the scene, trailing thick blood in their wake.
Both of you dismounted your respective dragons and arrived where Seasmoke lay, groaning in agony, clearly missing a limb. It had weakened so much from the injury that it quickly lost its life. Addam, miraculously and incredibly, did not perish from the impact; he was unconscious but breathing, with noticeable fractures, yet not in mortal danger. You thanked the Gods for sparing him, but your heart shattered upon realizing that, because of you, Seasmoke had met its tragic end, though protecting its rider with whom it had not spent much time, yet still cared for until the end.
Rhaenyra was beyond furious with you, and justifiably so. Not only had you disobeyed, but you had cost her a dragon for her cause, and nearly an important ally.
Above all that, you had the audacity to risk your own life, which was inconceivable to her. She could not believe your poor judgment and rash, foolish decision. Although it was what she wished to do upon learning of her son and cousin's deaths, this was not in her plans at all.
“WHAT IN THE SEVEN HELLS WERE YOU THINKING, Y/N?!”
Upon returning to the capital, she scolded you with a thunderous voice.
Her council was furious with you; Corlys did not know how to approach you anymore. After your mother’s death, a chasm had opened between you, vast and insurmountable, and his attempts to speak with you had ceased completely.
The Queen Dowager no longer spoke to you either, hurt by your abrupt change of allegiance, your lack of communication, and your choices which she had always contested. She did not bother to seek you out, nor you her. She clearly learned of your attempt, and that’s when she finally understood that your loyalty to her cause had definitively ended.
Desperation and disappointment gnawed at you; you no longer knew how to find yourself again, how not to drive away all those you once loved and still loved.
“I lost contro, Your Gracel.” You admitted without preamble.
“I care little for what my half-brother thinks, but those were not my instructions. You acted beyond my orders.”
“It was an impulse.”
“You have no idea the fear I felt seeing you battling Vhagar. My soul left my body.” The Queen touched her temple, frustrated, and after a few prolonged seconds, she approached you with a more open demeanor.
“I was thinking of my mother. Of Luke.” You confessed honestly, to which she let out a heart-wrenching but silent sound, as you knew how much the past weighed on her still.
“They should be here today. Alive, breathing. Jacaerys…” Your voice broke entirely at bringing them back with your mention. Rhaenyra could not help but start shedding bitter tears. You embraced her, or perhaps she embraced you; it mattered little as you immersed in each other’s arms.
“Don’t ever do something so reckless again. Promise me.” Rhaenyra pleaded, but you could not make promises you would not keep. “Now that Aemond believes it was all a plot, he might to return here. I do not know what to expect.”
“Honestly, Your Grace, I doubt it. He will probably head to Harrenhal once and for all. Now that the castle has been abandoned by Daemon.”
“Not truly abandoned. The Tullys and Blackwoods are settled there. And their other bannermen. Daemon has also returned there to handle that matter, precisely to prevent Aemond from seeking him in battle.” She confessed.
“Is that good for you?”
“My lord husband is accompanied by the rider of Sheepstealer. They had direct orders from me; I previously tasked him with returning and preventing any trouble that Aemond might bring. My last attempt for a somewhat belated and futile peace, but it had to be made.” She finished saying.
“We know his nature. They could soon meet their end, both of them.”
“There are high probabilities, yes.”
-----------------------
Once again, the same dream, once again, the same black fire invading your vision.
What kind of cruel pattern was this?
Weeks had elapsed since that fateful encounter with Aemond, and the news from Daemon was scarce and unreliable. You knew he and Nettles, a brown-skinned girl you had never met, were lying in wait for the prince, tempting him to emerge from his current hideaway.
Still, there was no news from Aegon nor the clubfoot you so despised. The queen ruled over a divided and fragile populace, uncertain whether to support her reign or oust her. Many believed she could bring peace and prosperity once this turmoil ended.
That vision… where you were paralyzed, immobile.
You began to hear a whispering voice, “They will come for them.”
A woman appeared before you, someone you had never seen in your life, her pale skin and black hair like a raven’s.
Finally, you managed to react. Was this truly a dream?
“Get out of my head,” you demanded with impetuousness. The woman approached you closer.
“The decision lies with you, but you cannot save both.”
And suddenly, you shifted to another plane; it was Dragonstone, by the seashore.
A young Rhaenyra appeared before you, dressed in red and black. She gazed at you sweetly, without malice in her eyes. You swallowed hard, registering her presence.
This couldn't be real, that witch.
“Nyke’m isse jorrāelagon rūsīr ao (I’m in love with you.) Even if, for some bizarre reason, my father decided to make me his pronounced heir, I would give it up. I’d give everything up to be with you. In a heartbeat. Sagon rūsīr issa (be with me).”
Those words endured through the years. The first part had become reality, but what of everything that had happened since then?
The young Rhaenyra gently caressed your cheek, her thumb gliding over your earlobe and lips.
In an instant, you were in another plane again, now in front of a young Alicent, who radiated hope and joy, in an emerald green dress, in that meadow on the way to Oldtown.
“These ones are called Meadow Daisies.”
“Woolly blue violets.”
“And last but not least, wild poppies! Do you still think my books are dull?”
The memory of Alicent telling you about each type of flower in the area always stayed with you, and recalling it filled you with nostalgia and peace. And what of everything that had transpired since then?
She entwined her delicate hands with yours, feeling the tender warmth they emanated.
One of the last planes you ended up in was a remote place that felt quite unfamiliar.
“Your father was born here,” the woman, making herself noticed again, clarified. You felt tension running through your muscles, curiosity too, and extreme confusion. It was Myr, in Essos.
“My father?”
A young man came to the picture; he couldn't see you. It was just an illusion after all; she was playing with your mind.
Now she took you to the shores of Driftmark, where you watched him disembark from his small boat, which he proudly handled, to meet a tall and charming lady with silver hair.
“You must give birth to my child; they deserve to see all the wonders this world has to offer,” he said buoyant, his noble heart evident from afar.
The silver-haired girl looked at him tenderly while he gently held her belly.
“Y/N was the name of my dear sister. She always wished to have a daughter, and after her passing, I promised that mine, if granted one, would be named after her,” he said with melancholy.
“You are in great danger by continuing to return here, and you are aware of it, Dustan. I do not wish anything ill befalling you,” admitted the maiden.
Dustan looked at her deeply, and you heard him murmur, “You and our unborn baby are worth any risk. Because even if I can’t raise her myself, I will love her eternally.”
“You cannot save them both.”
And the black fire consumed you once more.
Your eyes filled with tears, and you awoke from the painful and incredible journey you didn’t comprehend whatsoever. What on earth had happened?

culture courting! ooc. don’t kill me pls.
❪ ENMA YUUKEN .ᐟ ❫ 𓍢ִ໋🤍
I. The word "shy" is often used to describe Japanese individuals, and this perception may stem from their traditional cultural practices. Those unfamiliar with Japanese customs might find the Japanese way of life to be rather restrained and conservative, with a strict moral code that could be seen as somewhat antiquated to outsiders. This cultural backdrop contributes to the characterization of Japanese people as being shy and reserved.
II. Yuuken is not dissimilar from others in his nervousness when it comes to courting you. He hesitates to make any significant moves, fearing to cause you discomfort, as he finds the prospect unbearable. Doing so would make him a disappointment to his ancestors, a situation he strives to avoid at all costs. Yuuken's nervous demeanor can be seen as a result of his concern for your comfort and the fear of causing any distress or unease. His wariness is motivated by a deep sense of responsibility to uphold his family's honor and avoid bringing shame upon his ancestors. This trepidation is a testament to his respect for cultural norms and his desire to approach the relationship with sensitivity and consideration.
III. Yuuken adheres to the cultural teachings that discourage excessive public displays of intimacy, as this behavior is deemed improper within Japanese society. Although it is generally frowned upon, those who witness such acts tend to remain polite and look away, attributing the lack of proper understanding to the situation. Despite this, Yuuken is influenced by his upbringing and mentality as a Japanese guy, and continues to follow the traditional standards of courtship while navigating the boundaries of public display of affection.
IV. Yuuken strongly believes that demonstrating genuine care and love to someone special involves expressing it through tangible actions and deeds. Spending quality time together, displaying unwavering support for one another's aspirations, and being unafraid to voice heartfelt sentiments and display affection are all crucial components of his approach to cultivating a meaningful connection. Furthermore, he acknowledges that being open-minded, adaptable, and flexible is essential since every individual is unique and has distinct needs, preferences, and expectations. Ultimately, Yuuken's strategy to court someone revolves around authentically conveying affection through his words, body language, and actions.
V. Japanese youth are raised with the principle of respecting their elders, which can contribute to their shyness and difficulty in expressing their feelings, particularly when it comes to matters of love. The strong emphasis on collectivism and group dynamics further reinforces this behavior, as younger individuals may find comfort in acting as part of a group rather than expressing their emotions individually. Consequently, Yuuken may require some external encouragement, such as moral support or a nudge to bolster his confidence, in order to openly declare his love for someone.
VI. Younger individuals in Japan, who are too shy to initiate a date with someone they like, often turn to a popular dating strategy known as "gokon" (合コン) or "group date." In this setup, the male typically invites his male friends, such as Ace and Deuce, and you invites your own companions. Ideally, there is an equal number of his friends and your friends participants, fostering a more relaxed and inclusive atmosphere, thereby minimizing any potential awkwardness or feelings of being left out.
VII. It is highly probable that Ace and Deuce will tease Yuuken, adding a touch of jest to the situation. Furthermore, there is the possibility that you may lack companions to enlist for their involvement in the group date. In light of these circumstances, Yuuken is likely to instead choose to express his love through actions. In Japanese culture, words of endearment hold little value without corresponding behaviors that genuinely reflect those sentiments. Therefore, he may demonstrate his affection by praising your qualities, sending heartfelt messages, or offering thoughtful gifts.
VIII. Despite the differences in expressing love between Japanese culture and the Western world, the underlying foundations share a common understanding. Both cultures recognize that love is nurtured and reinforced through consistent everyday actions over time. The sentiments themselves are universal, but the Japanese perspective emphasizes the power of actions over words in demonstrating affection. This nuanced difference in expression highlights the significance of tangible actions in strengthening and nourishing the bond of love in Japanese culture.
The courtship rituals in the Queendom of Roses would undoubtedly be distinctive, imaginative, and unconventional. The whimsical and imaginative atmosphere of this realm would lend itself to creative expressions of affection. As a result, each courtship encounter would be like a surprise, adding an element of spontenuity and uniqueness to the experience!
Courtship rituals can differ drastically between the various kingdoms within Wonderland, and the key to successfully courting a partner in this realm is to display confidence, imagination, and a touch of eccentricity. In the Queendom of Roses, unusual gestures and unconventional approaches are highly valued, so don’t be afraid to embrace your uniqueness. When searching for a suitor, seek someone who can handle your fiery demeanor and provide some intellectual stimulation as well. In the Queendom of Roses, partnerships are viewed as a delicate balance between power and wit. Once you find your ideal match, do not be hesitant to pursue them boldly.
The second step in the courtship process in the Queendom of Roses is crucial - the proposal! In this whimsical realm, a well-thought-out proposal typically goes beyond a simple "Will you marry me?" and is instead seen as an opportunity to showcase one's devotion, creativity, and unyielding loyalty. A truly successful proposal in the Queendom of Roses should demonstrate your ability to think outside the box, surprising and delighting your partner with a unique and memorable proposal!
The proposal, in the Queendom of Roses, is an unparalleled affair. Rather than a traditional approach on one knee, the suitor is more likely to orchestrate an extravagant and theatrical spectacle, featuring hidden riddles, intricate scavenger hunts, or even a thrilling escape from the Queen’s guards. It’s not merely about asking for their hand in marriage; it’s about demonstrating one’s willingness to go to any length and handle a dash of the Queendom of Roses brand of madness.
“what about dating?” Oh dear, you are quite impatient aren't you? Dating is the third step, dear. In the Queendom of Roses, dating isn't like those traditional candlelit dinners and hand-holding. No, dear, it's an intricate dance of wit, riddles, and games. Here, they believe the courtship period should be a time to test one's mental acuity, cunning, and ability to keep up with their maddening pace. So, when you begin to date in the Queendom of Roses, keep things lively. Forget about those romantic dinners and movies. How about a thrilling scavenger hunt across the kingdom instead? And instead of a romantic picnic, imagine a tea party with pastries that may or may not be laced with poisonous surprises. Remember, the key to a successful Queendom of Roses relationship is to never, ever get monotonous or dull.
In the realm of Queendom of Roses, the art of courting consists of a precarious equilibrium of allure and insanity. It would likely start with Yuuken sending enigmatic riddles and challenges to assess your shrewdness and ability to keep up with his erratic actions. Once he found a suitor he deemed worthy, he would plan a splendid exhibition of his affections. Perhaps a sumptuous feast where he would make a toast to your impending union, or a soiree filled with games meticulously designed to unveil the compatibility between you and him.
But beyond all that, he'd let his madness guide him. After all, what's courting without a bit of insanity?
❪ RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS .ᐟ ❫ 𓍢ִ໋❤️
I. Riddle would meticulously adhere to the courtship practices of the Queendom of Roses. He would generously bestow gifts and symbols of his affection upon his suitor, each more peculiar and unexpected than the previous. He would organize opulent festivities in their honor, complete with a plethora of whimsical and unforeseeable entertainment. Every moment spent together would become an exercise in preserving his reputation for being "mad" while simultaneously showing his loyalty. And as his suitor responds in kind, they would be accepting the challenge to match his madness, thereby proving themselves worthy of becoming his companion in love and insanity.
II. In this step, Riddle would keenly observe you, diligently studying your personality to ensure that it somewhat resonates with his. Bear in mind that the first step is to select someone who can endure your spirited nature and offer a healthy challenge in return. The Queendom of Roses firmly believes that a partnership should be a delicate balance of power and intellect. You might notice Riddle's gaze lingering on you for longer than others, causing you to wonder if you have accidentally broken a rule. However, fear not, for it's merely riddle meticulously searching for a flawless suitor, and he suspects that you may fit the bill!
III. The next stage, as viewed through Riddle's lens, holds great excitement. There is an opportunity to test your devotion and resilience in the face of his challenges. However, from your point of view, it may seem like he despises you! He propels you towards outlandish scenarios beyond your wildest dreams. He assigns you tasks with objectives that seem inexplicable or impossible to achieve. In addition, he exhibits increased harshness, even meting out punishments for minor transgressions. Confronting a shapeshifter is merely one of the many trials he presents. Every predicament is meticulously orchestrated to unveil your depth of dedication, loyalty, and ability to withstand. He Clearly, he doesn't want a submissive partner, but rather someone who can stand their ground and meet his challenges head-on. These tests are not just his way of having fun, but also an essential part of his evaluation process.
IV. After a week filled with various events and dramatic episodes, Riddle would finally assess that you possess the qualities he seeks in a suitor. He would then regard you with a look of satisfaction, and begin to become increasingly intimate with you. This housewarden can be quite perplexing, isn't he? The third step, dating, unfolds with him inviting you to extravagant parties and tea parties. These occasions are usually teeming with excessive activities and chaos. Riddle thrives in this constant whirlwind of nonsense, and follows rule three to the letter: never be bored. How does he manage to maintain this perpetually tumultuous lifestyle?
V. To sum it up, being courted by Riddle is an absolute whirlwind. It requires a healthy dose of creativity, innovative thinking, and a willingness to embrace the realm of pure insanity that defines the Queendom of Roses. Get ready for a relationship unlike any other!
❪ ACE TRAPPOLA .ᐟ ❫ 𓍢ִ໋❤️
I. RIDICULOUS I HATE HIM I I HOPE HE DIES
II. Don't worry about that. Based on his personality, there is a 50% probability that Ace would follow a more conventional approach in courting. However, due to his unique nature and desire to stand out, it's likely that he would incorporate his own creative flair into the courtship process, aiming to make the experience truly special and memorable for his chosen suitor.
III. The first step in Ace's plan to win your heart is to grab your attention. He might begin by presenting you with a small, eye-catching gift. Then, he'd gradually start to get closer to you, learning more about your interests and desires. He'd actively seek opportunities to spend time with you, whether in a group setting or one-on-1 scenarios. The amount of time spent together largely hinges on your level of interest in him. Ace would also become increasingly physical, if you're open to it, offering hugs and light teases as a way to express his feelings and possibly provoke a reaction from you.
IV. Once Ace has gotten to know you better, he'll take the initiative and make the first move. He understands that it's crucial for him to display his genuine interest as well; it can't always be a one-sided affair. With a clear understanding of you, he'll start flirting with you, but he won't be shy about it. He'll be upfront and bolder in his approach, wanting you to know exactly how he feels and hoping to ignite a reciprocal interest within you. He’d start by making subtle advancements, like touching your arm while talking or sitting next to you closer than usual. If you’re responsive, he may attempt to make more significant moves, like trying to hold your hand or find excuses to get into physical contact with you. Depending on your reaction, he might even lean closer to whisper flirtingly into your ear or surprise you by wrapping an arm around your waist.
VI. After the initial flirtation, Ace would transition to Step 2: making sure you understand your importance to him. He would demonstrate his care through small gestures such as checking in on you when you're feeling upset, offering comfort and reassurance. He would want to make sure you feel safe and confident in knowing that you could always count on him. In addition, he would shower you with a memorable time, taking you out for a wonderful date and treating you like royalty. During this time, he would also subtly highlight his strength and reliability, strengthening your connection. Once he feels comfortable enough with you, he’d start expressing his feelings more openly. He would become increasingly more touchy and flirtatious, he might even start calling you with endearling nicknames. He's not shy, so he’d probably just end up wrapping an arm around your waist without even realising it
V. Lastly, Ace would employ his favorite tactic: good-natured teasing. As a typical teenage boy, his pride is too great for straightforward confessions. He would tease you here and there, leaving you in a state of curiosity and wonder. And why does he do this? Simply because it's amusing to him. He knows that you never know what someone is going to say or reveal about themselves when they're in a more relaxed and playful mood, and teasing is the perfect tool. Have you ever heard of the phrase "pulling pigtails"? Ace's tactic isn't just a form of playful banter or a way to rile you up—it's a way for him to learn more about you. He's interested in seeing how you react to his teases and what kind of person you are. Teasing, in his mind, is a quick and easy way to get a glimpse into your true nature. It's a game he enjoys playing, and he hopes you'll play along. But be warned, his teasing can be quite relentless!
In the vast expanse of the Shaftlands, the courtship customs are influenced by the myriad cultures and climates found within its borders. Nevertheless, a common thread runs through all of them: a deep rooted appreciation for chivalry. Traditional values such as a gentlemanly demeanor and romantic gestures typically feature prominently in courtship rituals, with men expected to take the lead. As a first step, small tokens or gifts are often presented as symbols of affection or interest. These gifts can range from small trinkets or flowers to more meaningful tokens that reflect a deeper thought or understanding of the recipient's interests or personality. Such gestures serve as a way to express interest and begin the initial stages of courtship, with men often looking to impress and capture the attention of those they are courting.
Respect for the partner's parents or family, especially the elders, often plays a significant role in the Shaftlands courtship rituals. While the culture encourages independence and self-sufficiency from a young age, families hold great importance in the lives of Shaftland individuals. Once you're in a serious relationship with a Shaftlands partner, expect to spend a considerable amount of time with their parents, also known as the Schwiegereltern
The final step to a courtship in the Shaftlands is often spending quality time together through shared activities and conversations. However, it is worth noting that the Shaftlands are a vast country with diverse climates and many regions with distinct cultures. As a result, the specifics of the courtship process can vary greatly depending on the locale and cultural traditions. Some regions may place more emphasis on courtship rituals and symbols, while others may prioritize getting to know each other through shared experiences.
In Vil's country, courtship is approached gradually and thoughtfully. The good news is that there are no strict dating rules in the Shaftlands, making it a rather flexible environment for pursuing romantic connections. However, bear in mind a few key points when navigating the world of love in Shaftlands. Unlike the passionate and fervent dating culture in the Queendom of Roses and Sunset Savanna, Shaftlands individuals favor a more measured and rational approach to dating. Rather than fiery and intense encounters, initial dates and even a handful of subsequent dates are likely to be kept casual and focused on building a strong foundation of understanding between partners. Don’t expect the first date—or even the first several dates—to have a strong romantic flair. Instead, the goal is to engage in relaxed, unpressured activities that allow you and your partner to grow closer on an emotional and intellectual level. This approach ensures that when and if the relationship moves towards a deeper commitment or the introduction of intimate elements, it will be based on a strong foundation of mutual respect and comprehension.
While casual dating may be the standard in the Shaftlands, it is generally assumed that both parties will not be seeing multiple individuals simultaneously. Engaging in such behavior is viewed as offensive and disrespectful unless both parties have explicitly agreed upon it from the onset. Monogamous relationships are the preferred and expected norm, and any deviation from this practice without clear agreement can lead to hurt feelings or broken trust.
The process of transitioning from casual dating to a serious relationship in the Shaftlands can be a gradual one, as rushing into committed partnerships is not a priority. Relationships here often progress at a more measured pace, developing slowly and naturally over time. Consequently, patience is key, and the dating period should be viewed as an opportunity to thoroughly get to know your partner and assess the compatibility of your connection. By taking the time to truly understand one another, you can ensure that when the decision to enter a committed relationship is made, it is done with confidence and clarity.
this is getting too long (°▽°)
❪ VIL SCHOENHEIT .ᐟ ❫ 𓍢ִ໋💜
I. If Vil were to court someone who holds a special fondness for nature, she might plan an outing to a lovely garden where they can bask in the beauty of the natural world together. On the other hand, if her suitor is artistic and values refined aesthetics, she might arrange a visit to an art gallery, where they can spend the day admiring the skill and beauty of the creative expression. In essence, Vil would tailor the first date to cater to her suitor's unique interests, creating a memorable experience that reflects their individual tastes and passions. In summary, Vil would take the time to understand her suitor's preferences and interests, and plan the first date accordingly. This could mean going on a nature walk in a beautiful garden for someone who appreciates the beauty of the outdoors, or exploring an art gallery and admiring the creative expressions for an artistic individual. By catering to her suitor's unique preferences, Vil would aim to create a memorable and enjoyable experience that sets the foundation for a meaningful connection.
II. Vil, being a busy individual, would approach the dating process with a deliberate and measured pace. She would carefully arrange dates during her free time, taking care to be on her best behavior and ensure that she presents herself in the best possible light. In the event that the initial date went well, as she is confident it would, she would plan additional dates but still maintain a slower pace. Vil has the habit of making her partners wait to assess their patience and level of effort. If she believes they are worthy, she will gradually open her heart more and more, eventually granting them the privilege of being considered hers. In essence, Vil is a person who holds high standards and values individuals who can demonstrate patience and dedication. She is not one to rush into relationships, but rather takes her time to evaluate her partners and their commitment. Only if someone can prove their worth and devotion would Vil consider letting them into her heart.
III. When it comes to your date with Vil, it is crucial to arrive on time. She values punctuality and expects her date to respect her time. However, in the event that an unexpected situation arises and you find yourself unable to make it at the agreed upon time, be sure to notify her promptly. Otherwise, she might perceive it as a lack of consideration for her schedule and effort. Showing up late without a valid reason can make you appear unreliable and disrespectful of Vil's time, so it's essential to be mindful of the agreed-upon time and plan your arrival accordingly. If an unforeseen circumstance arises, promptly communicate this to Vil and provide an explanation to ensure a smooth and respectful start to your date.
IV. Following a successful first date, Vil would move on to a second date and continue spending time with her suitor. However, it is important to note that she sets the pace and does not easily give herself to her partner. She wants them to prove their worth and seriousness by meeting her particular standards. During dates, Vil maintains her usual strict and composed demeanor, avoiding any signs of clinginess. She expects her suitor to respect her and show that they are not taking her for granted or assuming victory just because they have gone on a few dates. In order to win her heart completely, they still need to continue courting her. In short, despite going on multiple dates with her suitor, Vil will not immediately become overly affectionate or dependent on them. Instead, she expects them to continue courting and demonstrating their commitment and respect for her values and standards. She will not be easily won over and will remain discerning in her assessments of her partner’s intentions and dedication.
VI. Upon reaching the third step, if her suitor continues to impress her and does not let her down, Vil would start to open up and show vulnerability more. She would share her dreams and secrets with them and gauge their reaction. If they do not use this information against her, she would become more affectionate and offer a kiss on the cheek as a token of her growing feelings. However, she would not completely give herself away just yet, as she still expects her suitor to work for her affection and earn her trust completely. Despite her initial cold exterior, Vil is discerning and demands genuine, lasting efforts.
V. In the fourth step, Vil would begin to invite her suitor to events and parties, but still as a friend. She would continue to observe their behaviour and manner in public settings, keeping them on probation even then. However, if she is satisfied with their conduct thus far, her treatment towards them will become more special and affectionate, with hints dropped to indicate that they are making progress in winning her over. Despite these signs of softening, however, her suitor must still maintain their patience and keep up their efforts, as this is not the time to become complacent. If they have managed to stay in her good graces up to this point Vil would further demonstrate their growing closeness in public, such as holding their hand while walking or allowing them to enter her personal space. It’s possible that she might even allow them to address her by her first name at this stage. However, all of these actions are dependent on the suitor’s behaviour and continuing efforts to make her feel secure and valued in their relationship.
In the scorching lands of The Scalding Sands, "dating" typically takes a different form. The primary intent is to get acquainted with someone, with the ultimate goal of marriage in mind. Public displays of affection are not common, and it is uncommon for couples to meet alone. This is because of the cultural norms and societal restrictions that govern relationships in the region. Couples often meet under the supervision of a family member or chaperone, and the process of courtship involves more formalities and traditions compared to other regions.
While arranged marriages are still common in The Scalding Sands, a newer trend is emerging, particularly in urban areas. Young people are now more likely to express interest in a potential partner to their parents, who will then facilitate the marriage. This process allows for young individuals to explore less serious relationships, enabling them to gain a clearer understanding of what they seek in a life partner. Once they feel ready to settle down, they can communicate this information to their parents, who will then embark on finding a compatible match.
Some couples in The Scalding Sands may have already been secretly dating before revealing to their parents that they would like to marry. The approach to the marriage process can vary depending on the region and the familial perspectives. This secrecy could be due to the traditional norms around the topic of dating, where families may not approve of couples seeing each other before an official agreement has been arranged.
In The Scalding Sands, the concept of 'dating' is culturally taboo and often met with disapproval. If a couple is caught in a private setting, it is considered a sin or crime known as 'khulwa'. The consequences of engaging in khulwa can be severe, including punishments such as flogging and imprisonment. If sexual relations are involved, the penalties can be even more severe, potentially leading to death through execution. This strict cultural stance reflects the region's conservative values and deeply ingrained beliefs about premarital relationships.
In The Scalding Sands, dating tends to be a covert affair and finding romance in this highly conservative kingdom can be challenging, but not entirely out of reach. Expats should bear in mind that dating in the traditional sense is not practiced; instead couples come together when it's time for marriage. Parents play a pivotal role in deciding which partner is appropriate, and a person's say in the matter can vary based on their family's adherence to tradition. Additionally, due to the conservative nature of the culture, public displays of affection are not generally accepted, and physical contact between unmarried couples is strictly prohibited. Therefore, dating in The Scalding Sands is often limited to secret meetings or conversations in private spaces, where couples must exercise caution to avoid disapproval or punishment.
In addition to the previously mentioned points, it is important to note that it is both morally and legally wrong for unrelated individuals who are not married to spend time together in The Scalding Sands. As a result, those seeking a romantic relationship should exercise caution and creativity. Despite the progressive changes in the Kingdom, which now allow for entertainment such as music, movies, and theaters, thus allowing for more public interaction, dating, sexual relations, and romantic relationships are still highly stigmatized and seen as taboo.
In The Scalding Sands, due to the taboo nature of dating, the first dates are typically held discreetly. If both individuals reside in the same compound or have access to one, they might opt to spend their first date at the movies or a restaurant within the compound. Since the societal rules are more lenient within the compound, this is a comfortable choice for couples. Select restaurants in major cities also offer private cabins and exhibit a relaxed attitude towards gender mixing. Reaching out to your circle of fellow expats is a great way to discover suitable date spots, as they often know of locations with a more lenient approach.
In The Scalding Sands, it is not legally permissible for unmarried couples to share the same space. As a result, it is not customary for men to drive women to and from their homes. It is also not advisable to adhere to Western dating rituals, such as giving gifts, hugging, and other forms of physical intimacy. At the conclusion of the date, if there is a bill, men will typically pay for it, and they might find it offensive if a woman offers to contribute to the cost.
❪ KALIM AL - ASIM .ᐟ ❫ 𓍢ִ໋💛
I. Kalim, being raised in a traditional merchant family with a lineage of wealth and prestige, grew up in a privileged and sheltered environment. With his elevated social status, Kalim was well-aware of the importance of expressing his interest in someone. He adopted a straightforward approach, either through compliments or directly telling them of his feelings, without resorting to beating around the bush. Back in his homeland, there were numerous ways to express interest, such as gifts, flowers, food, and even whispering sweet words to someone's ear. Unmarried, unrelated individuals could not spend time together, as elders sought to preserve purity and innocence before marriage. This segregation was seen as a means to preserve purity and innocence, and it was believed to reinforce family values and traditions. While relationships were discouraged before marriage, once two people wed, they were expected to devote their lives to their spouse and children. In The Scalding Sands, the cultural emphasis on family was reflected in its views on dating and intimate relationships.
II. If you have feelings for someone, it is crucial to be discreet about it. Gifting presents and such gestures is still allowed, but families and elders would prefer not to know about it. They might force a marriage and deal with all the boring formalities otherwise. To initiate a romantic pursuit, the first step is to let the person know you're interested. Kalim would use a variety of methods to express his interest, such as giving gifts, whispering sweet words, or even simply telling them. Additionally, he would utilize eye contact, physical touch, and other subtle gestures to make a statement. Eye contact, physical touch, and being close to someone all serve as indicators of Kalim's investment and interest in them. They convey that he wants them and can't keep his hands off them. This non-verbal communication can be a powerful way to demonstrate affection and build attraction. While the elders and families might prefer to remain unaware of these romantic pursuits, Kalim's actions make it clear that he has his sights set on his chosen person.
III. The second step in the traditional pursuit of romance is a significant one, signaling mutual interest. It's often a declaration of feelings, and it culminates in asking for a kiss. However, the timing of this step can vary; it doesn't have to happen immediately. The process can progress at one's own pace. Making such a gesture acts as a bold declaration of liking someone, essentially saying, "I like you, and I want to show that I like you." It serves as a mutual test, and if the person responds by kissing back, it indicates shared feelings. Conversely, if a person pulls away, it implies a lack of interest. Body language can be a reliable indicator. A person who isn't into you may create emotional distance through actions like moving away from your touch or getting too close. They might show confusion or bluntly state their disinterest. However, someone interested in you will do the opposite. They may smile, lean into your touch, or even become shy if the feelings are reciprocated. You can discern these signals.
IV. In The Scalding Sands, dating is not a widespread practice. When two individuals realize they have feelings for each other, their families step in to arrange the marriage as soon as possible, but the timing can vary. The arrangements for the marriage typically begin once mutual interest is established. In Kalim's case, if he senses the other person shares his interest, he would promptly start the process leading to a marriage proposal. Before what Westerns refer to as "dating", Kalim would approach the person's family to ask for their hand in marriage. This process is not rushed, and it generally follows a pattern where you get to know the person and spend time together before making the proposal. By doing this, he makes a strong statement, basically declaring his intention to be with the person, which carries significant weight given the traditional values of the region.
VI. Kalim's formal marriage proposal would include gifting and some sort of public announcement, adhering to traditional customs. However, typically, it's a family member who seeks permission from the other family. Kalim could ask for the person's hand in marriage directly or have a family member do so on his behalf. A gift or offering would be given as a demonstration of his ability to provide. It's important to note that some families might prioritize monetary value over material gifts, but generally, offering gifts or money serves as a common approach for marriage proposals in Kalim's culture. The act of asking for someone's hand in marriage is indeed a very formal affair, steeped in tradition. It typically involves the giving of gifts and some form of public announcement, symbolizing both respect and a declaration of intent. It is also worth noting that in Kalim's culture, it is often a family member, rather than the individual himself, who makes the request to the other family, whether it be to seek their blessing or to ask for their hand in marriage. Giving a gift, or more often, money, serves as a crucial gesture of goodwill and a demonstration of one's ability to provide and support.
V. This phase is often considered the last step before officially getting married. Instead of referring to it as "dating," in The Scalding Sands' culture, this period is more focused on spending time together to determine how compatible the couple is, especially in the context of a future marriage. It's a crucial time for assessing compatibility and preparing for the commitment of matrimony.
VI. Kalim would be generous by showering you with luxurious jewelry and other extravagant gifts. He would also try to spend as much time with you as possible, potentially being a little clingy due to his desire to keep you all to himself. Kalim might take you on wonderful dates like going to festivals or parties, or even stargazing or taking you on a magical carpet ride. He would devote all his attention to you and likely shower you with sweet compliments. Kalim would go all out, spoiling you with expensive jewelry and exclusive items. He'd want to spend every moment with you and might be somewhat possessive, not wanting anyone else to get close to you. He'd plan exciting dates like attending festivals or parties while also offering special experiences like stargazing or a magical carpet ride. Throughout it all, he’d shower you with his undivided attention and compliment you in the sweetest ways.
