Well, the $65m brutalist/industrial house of Beverly Hills, CA has been on the market since June and still counting. 5bds, 10ba, 18,000 sq ft of pure concrete. Let's refresh our memories, and if you haven't seen it before, you're in for a treat. Oh, it's called a work of art that will never be duplicated (who would want to?) and only pre-qualified buyers can make an appt. to see it. No lookie-loos who don't have $65m to spend.
Tumblr media
The front doors.
Tumblr media
The only color you will see in this house is thru the windows. I wonder if the bike conveys. So, here we are in the living room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here we have the view from the living room. Such harsh lighting, though.
Tumblr media
We're looking out at the pool. Would colorful furniture kill the vibe, do you think?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The fireplace is a work of art. It looks like an industrial furnace to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can't really tell how deep this pool is.
Tumblr media
The view of the living room from outside.
Tumblr media
Here, you've got a dining table and a very cool looking bar. Look at the size of the foot rail. I guess stools would ruin the view.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very large stainless steel kitchen. The only wood counter is on the island, and only 2 other little pops of color.
Tumblr media
Curved cement walls lead around to the primary bedroom. Notice the lights around the bottom.
Tumblr media
The primary bedroom is so large, it makes that piano look small. There's a wall of glass with a great view and doors to the patio.
Tumblr media
Very industrial ensuite. Everything must've been custom made in this home. You can't go to Home Depot and pick up a sink like that.
Tumblr media
Check out the tub. It looks like some kind of chemical vat. Murder tub vibes.
Tumblr media
The home office has a warmer look b/c it incorporates wood into the decor. I like the desk. Is that a cat perch by the window?
Tumblr media
Here we have the home theater. Looks like they have acoustic panels between the cement columns and in the ceiling.
Tumblr media
This bar matches the other one. I guess guests have to stand.
Tumblr media
More curved hallway walls.
Tumblr media
Down here they have some sort of an art shop. I guess that this room could be a studio or rec room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very large center courtyard looks like an arena. There are small lights in the floor, but I can't tell what that circle in the middle is.
Tumblr media
Looks almost like a space ship or military building from above. The lot is 1.99 acres.

chapter six: dreams
wc: 2.7k
cw: drinking
A couple of weeks after the meeting, the four of you finally secured an appointment with the head director of the label. It was the moment you’d all been waiting for, yet the anticipation left you on edge. The director had asked for a portfolio of materials—demos, performance videos, and a few polished tracks—and you had delivered, spending days perfecting every detail to ensure the band’s best work was on display.
The meeting was scheduled at one of the label’s premier recording studios, a sprawling, state-of-the-art facility that felt miles away from the DIY setup you were used to. Walking into the studio for the first time was like stepping into another world. The walls were lined with platinum records, and the sleek, modern equipment glinted under the soft glow of recessed lighting. The air itself felt charged with possibility, as though the walls held echoes of every hit song ever recorded there.
Ekko was the first to comment, his eyes wide as he took in the control room. “This… this is insane,” he whispered, running a hand over one of the massive soundboards. “Do you even know what this thing can do? It’s worth more than my car. Hell, probably more than my house.”
Jinx was equally in awe, practically bouncing as she examined the vocal booth through the glass panel. “Do you think we’ll get to record in here? Like, for real? I mean, listen to this!” She clapped her hands together, and the perfect acoustics made even the small sound echo like a symphony.
You couldn’t help but smile at their excitement, though your attention kept drifting to Vi, who was standing near the drum kit set up in the live room. She ran her fingers over the polished cymbals and nodded quietly, her expression unreadable.
“Feels different, doesn’t it?” you said, stepping up beside her.
“Yeah,” she replied softly. “It’s… surreal. We’ve been recording in Ekko’s garage for so long, I didn’t think we’d ever get here.”
“Don’t forget the soundproofing foam we duct-taped to the walls,” you teased, earning a small chuckle from her.
“Hey, that foam was the MVP,” she said, her lips curving into a smirk. “But this? This is on another level.”
When the director finally arrived, a tall man in a crisp blazer with a presence that immediately commanded respect, you all quickly gathered in the control room. He introduced himself as Mark Caldwell and wasted no time in getting down to business.
“First of all, let me say, your demo impressed the hell out of me,” he began, leaning against the console as he addressed the group. “I’ve been in this industry a long time, and I can tell when a band has something real. You’ve got it. Now, the challenge is taking that raw talent and refining it without losing what makes it special.”
He gestured toward the studio equipment. “This place is yours for the next few hours. I want you to record a live session—no pressure, just play like you’re at one of your shows. We’ll use it as a baseline to figure out where to go next. Sounds good?”
You all nodded, a mix of excitement and nerves bubbling under the surface.
“Good,” Mark said, standing up straight. “One more thing. This isn’t about perfection. It’s about capturing who you are as a band. Don’t overthink it—just play.”
The four of you exchanged glances.
“Well,” Ekko said, cracking his knuckles, “looks like it’s time to show them what we’ve got.”
“So what do you guys want to play?” Jinx asks, looking at the three of you
As you settled into your positions, the reality of the moment hit you. For years, you’d made do with what you had—recording in Ekko’s garage, using secondhand equipment, and figuring it all out as you went. But now, standing in a professional studio with the best gear and people in the industry at your disposal, it felt like everything was about to change.
And when you played the first note, it did. The sound was unlike anything you’d ever heard before—clean, rich, and so alive it sent chills down your spine. The way the instruments blended was pure magic, with Vi’s precise drumming anchoring the rhythm, Ekko’s basslines adding a steady pulse, and Jinx’s electrifying guitar melodies soaring with clarity. But it wasn’t just the instruments; your voice brought it all together, cutting through the air with a resonance that felt larger than life.
For the first time, you felt like a real singer, not just someone chasing a dream in Ekko’s garage. The way the studio’s acoustics carried your voice made every word, every note, feel like it had its own weight. You started with some new, unreleased tracks, carefully chosen to showcase the band’s growth, but by the end, you let yourself get lost in the moment.
“Alright,” you said into the mic, your tone playful as you looked at the others. “Let’s mix it up.”
Jinx immediately picked up on your energy, her guitar shifting into an improvised riff. “Finally! I thought we were gonna stay on script forever,” she teased, throwing a grin your way.
Ekko rolled his eyes but joined in, his bassline syncing effortlessly with her experimental melody. “Just don’t blame me if we go off the rails,” he joked.
“Keep up, kids,” Vi said from behind her drum kit, her sticks tapping out a steady rhythm as she grounded the improvised jam.
And then you sang. Lyrics you hadn’t planned spilled out, and the band followed your lead. The energy was raw, unfiltered, and powerful. You could feel it in the way your voice hit the high notes, in the way Jinx’s guitar seemed to sing with you, and in the way Vi and Ekko kept the entire thing tight yet vibrant.
By the time the final note rang out, the room felt charged with energy. You looked up, breathless, to see the label director, Mark, grinning on the other side of the glass. His voice came through the speakers, making you jump slightly.
“Well, I think that was all I needed to hear. You guys were great,” he said, his tone calm but full of certainty.
The words hung in the air for a moment before Jinx, ever the bold one, leaned into the mic in front of her. “Wait, great as in good? Or great as in ‘We’re sending your manager a contract tomorrow’ great?”
Mark chuckled, shaking his head. “The second one. Congratulations, guys. You’ve got it. Now go celebrate—because this is just the start.”
The room exploded into cheers. Jinx spun around, hugging her guitar before giving Ekko an enthusiastic high-five. Vi smirked, twirling a drumstick as she leaned back in her chair, the hint of pride unmistakable. Ekko laughed, clapping you on the shoulder.
You stood there, the reality of his words sinking in. This was it. The years of hard work, late-night rehearsals, and doubts had led to this moment.
Jinx threw an arm around your shoulders, her grin wide. “Told you we’d make it,” she said, nudging you playfully.
“You’re right,” you replied, unable to keep the smile off your face. “We really did.”
As you all packed up your instruments, Mark’s words echoed in your mind. This wasn’t just the end of a chapter—it was the start of something much bigger. You looked around at your bandmates, their excitement mirroring your own, and felt a spark of determination.
──────────────────────
“So, what now?” you asked, standing outside the record label building. You were still walking on cloud nine, adrenaline coursing through your veins. Your whole body felt electrified, as though the energy from the session hadn’t left you. The night air was cool, but it couldn’t temper the heat of excitement bubbling inside you. “If I go home right now, I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep.”
“Me neither, to be honest. I feel like I just downed five of those energy drinks Jinx is obsessed with,” Ekko said, laughing as he leaned against the railing beside you.
Jinx smirked, swinging her guitar case over her shoulder. “Come on, my energy drinks are what keep this band alive. You’d all be half-asleep without me.”
“You’re the last person who needs more caffeine,” Vi quipped, twirling a drumstick in her hand like she always did when she was buzzing with energy. “But yeah, I’m not ready to call it a night either.”
Ekko tilted his head thoughtfully. “So, what do we do? Celebrate? Grab some food? Go somewhere?”
“I know the last time we went to a club, you guys hated me for a couple of days, *but*,” Jinx said, dragging the word out and batting her eyelashes in exaggerated innocence, “we don’t have anything scheduled for tomorrow. I vote we go out for drinks.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Jinx, the last time we went out for drinks, you ended up dancing on the bar and Ekko got into an argument with the DJ.”
“Correction,” Jinx said, pointing a finger at you. “Ekko got into an argument because the DJ wouldn’t play my request. And, if I recall correctly, you weren’t exactly sober or innocent that night either. You disappeared after claiming you were going 'to the bathroom,'” she said, making air quotes with her fingers.
Vi chuckled, clearly recalling what actually happened. “You know what? I’m down,” she said with a smirk, leaning back against the railing. “I mean, we deserve it after today.”
Ekko groaned. “I don’t know if my reputation can survive another night like that, but…” He shrugged, a grin spreading across his face. “Screw it. Let’s do it.”
“That’s the spirit!” Jinx cheered, punching the air in victory. “Okay, I know just the place. It’s got cheap drinks, good music, and enough chaos to keep things interesting.”
“Sounds like trouble,” you muttered, but the excitement was already building. It had been a long time since you’d let loose, and the adrenaline from the studio session was still buzzing in your veins. “Alright, Jinx. Let’s just leave these things at my place, and we can go.”
After a quick stop at your apartment to drop off your instruments, Jinx led the way to the spot she’d been so excited about.
It was a pleasant surprise. The place was leagues better than the chaotic club she’d dragged you to in LA. The DJ was playing a mix of upbeat and chill tracks that actually made sense together, the lighting was warm and inviting, and it wasn’t packed to the point of suffocation. People were dancing in small, carefree groups, while others mingled at the bar or lounged around tables, laughing and enjoying themselves. It felt alive in the best way—a comfortable buzz of energy without the overwhelming chaos of your previous outing.
You stopped at the bar first, each of you ordering your drinks. Jinx, naturally, went for something vibrant and sugary—her cocktail an almost cartoonish shade of blue. Vi opted for something simple, a whiskey neat, while Ekko chose a craft beer after taking an unnecessarily long time debating his options. You ordered your go-to, letting the familiarity ground you for a moment before following Jinx to an open table near the edge of the room.
As the four of you settled into the cushy seats, drinks in hand, you raised your glass to the group. “To us,” you said with a grin, the words heartfelt. “And to whatever comes next.”
“To whatever comes next!” Jinx echoed, clinking her glass against yours with a grin before taking a long sip of her cocktail. She lowered it, her eyes sparkling as she glanced around the lively room. “I can’t believe this is actually happening,” she said, her voice filled with awe. She gestured with her drink, the blue liquid sloshing slightly. “I mean, this is it. We’re actually doing it. No more garage demos. No more begging venues to let us open for a band nobody’s heard of. We’re in.”
Vi nodded, swirling her whiskey lazily in its glass. “Feels good, doesn’t it? Feels like…” She paused, searching for the right words. “Like maybe all the crap we’ve been through was worth it.”
“It better have been,” Ekko said with a laugh, raising his beer. “I didn’t waste years soundproofing my garage just to get here and not enjoy it.”
Jinx snorted. “You mean *we* didn’t waste years soundproofing your garage. Let’s not forget who came up with the duct-tape-and-blanket solution when we ran out of foam.”
“I’m pretty sure that was me,” Vi cut in, smirking. “I was the one who said it wasn’t gonna hold and then ended up holding it anyway.”
The laughter came easy, the banter flowing naturally as you reminisced about the less-than-glamorous moments that had brought you here. For a while, it felt like time slowed, the stress and pressure of the industry melting away. It was just the four of you, a table full of drinks, and the unshakable bond that had carried you through every late-night rehearsal and every failed gig.
As the night wore on, you found yourself watching your bandmates with a kind of quiet affection. Jinx was animated, her hands flying wildly as she retold the story of one of your earliest shows—a chaotic disaster back then, but hilarious now. Ekko leaned back in his chair, laughing so hard his beer nearly tipped over, his deep, booming chuckles contagious. And Vi… Vi was quieter than the others, but her eyes were bright, her smirk constant as she leaned her elbow on the table, soaking it all in. She looked at ease, her usual guarded exterior melted away in the warmth of the moment.
Your face was warm too, though you weren’t sure if it was from the alcohol or the swirl of emotions bubbling in your chest. They were your family—a little crooked, with sharp edges that didn’t always fit perfectly together—but they were yours, and you loved them for it. Through the fights, the failures, and the small victories, they were the constant that kept you going.
Eventually, after Ekko’s near-miss with his beer and Jinx’s attempt to convince the bartender to name a cocktail after her, you decided to call it a night. The four of you spilled out onto the street, the cool night air hitting your flushed cheeks as you laughed about nothing in particular.
Ekko and Jinx shared an uber, Jinx dramatically leaning out of the window as it pulled away. “Don’t forget, we’re crashing your place tomorrow to grab our stuff!” she called, pointing at you as the car disappeared into the distance.
And then it was just you and Vi, standing in the quiet outside the bar. The sounds of the city buzzed faintly in the background, but it felt like a bubble had formed around the two of you. She stuffed her hands in her jacket pockets, glancing at you with a small, amused smile.
“Guess it’s just us now,” she said, her tone casual, but there was a softness in her voice that made your chest tighten.
You hesitated for a moment, your heart pounding as you worked up the courage to ask what had been sitting at the edge of your mind all night. “Do you… I don’t know, wanna come over?” The words came out as smoothly as you could manage, though you were sure your voice betrayed some of the nervous energy bubbling beneath the surface. You tried to play it off as casual, but the truth was far from it.
The truth was, you had spent the week after coming home thinking about the last night you had shared together. Maybe it hadn’t been planned; maybe it had surprised you both when she woke up in your bed. But in the moment, it had felt right—like you were meant to be kissing her neck, like she was meant to be holding you that way. You had tried to shake it off, to attribute it to adrenaline and too many drinks, but the memory clung to you. And now, standing here with her, it burned fresh in your mind.
Vi tilted her head, studying you for a moment, and you couldn’t tell what she was thinking. The silence stretched just long enough to make you second-guess yourself, but then she nodded, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips. “Yeah,” she said softly. “I’d like that.”
Relief and excitement hit you all at once, but you kept your composure, nodding as you gestured in the direction of her bike. “Alright. Let’s go.”

Day 469 ~ Jake
The house sat at the top of a steep incline, up a winding driveway that had begun to be reclaimed by nature. Cracks in the cement where little shrubs had started to grow and leaves that were never blown away. Neglected and abandoned.
It reminded me a little of Josh's house. With pristine edges and white walls, coveted by obscure works of art. Book shelves that were gathering dust and kitchen utensils left out on the surfaces as if the owners had just stepped out of the room.
Amelia seemed to know where she was going. "I found this place a couple of months after I moved into Grandma's cabin."
She led me down a narrow corridor, flanked by a bank of full length windows overlooking a sweeping back yard that was shrouded by trees. Photo's of the family who once lived there sitting on the wall opposite, happy faces forever immortalised for no one else to ever see.
"I hit every house within a 10 mile radius. Looking for supplies, anything that I could use. Food, toiletries. And I was about to leave when I noticed this..."
She stopped at the end of the corridor, leaning against a nondescript door. Her face sincere as she ran hands up my arms, coming to rest around my shoulders.
"We have to take whatever joy we can find in this world." She said, "And if we're lucky, we'll take back some of the joys we had before."
I'd known nothing but joy since I'd almost died. There wasn't a single moment I'd had with her that hadn't made me question whether I would take any of it back to have the world filled with every other person I'd ever loved again.
It was something I'd wrestled with. The notion that I could happily exist in a world I'd come to hate simply because she was in it with me. I was thinking about Josh again when she opened the door, simply because I'd been reminded of him. And the certainty within which I knew I wouldn't take any of it back, even if it meant having him back, drew a conflict within the likes of which I'd never known before.
But it was all for nothing. As I stepped into the room she'd been eager to show me, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I loved her enough to never want the old world back.
"Amelia..." I gasped. "What in the...fuck."
Mounted on an oak panelled wall were an array of vintage guitars. A brazilian board 1959 Gibson Les Paul. Shining in the last rays of the afternoon sun. I reached out and touched it, trembling as my fingers remembered what it felt like to know strings. A custom Fender strat in dark red with a black mottled pattern that looked like spilled paint if you looked too closely. A plain red stratocaster and an acoustic Martin dreadnought with a mahogany neck.
"I know that you said you didn't play anymore. Not without your brothers. But I think you should play again. For them. To them. And maybe somehow, I don't know how insane it might be, but maybe they'll hear you. Wherever they are..."
She was nervous. Biting her lip and wringing her hands in the sleeves of her sweater. Anticipating that I'd reject the sweetness of her idea, of this perfect gift.
"You brought me here because you knew that I would love it, didn't you?" I asked, although it wasn't really a question.
"Is that so bad?" She replied, opening her arms as if I would somehow be mad at her.
The room was decked out with framed vinyls. Some were so old I'd never seen them before. There were a few more guitars leaned up against the opposite wall and a beaten up drum kit in the window. It looked as if it had been played to death, with the cymbals hanging off and the kick drum looked as if one more pound on it would tear it right in half.
"It's not bad at all, why would you think that?" I pulled her into me, her little body slotting into my embrace like it had always meant to be there. "Just because I said I didn't play anymore doesn't mean I wouldn't love this."
She rested her head against my shoulder. Let me sway her back and forth a little. Everything was so eerily quiet. Up here the wind howled a little more than it did around the cabin. It sounded like ghosts were singing to us, begging me to pick up one of those fine old ladies.
"Maybe I'm selfish. Maybe I just wanted to hear you for myself." She looked up at me, resting her lips on my jawline.
"Plenty have paid for the privilege." I replied, "What will you pay me for a private show?"
She raised an eyebrow. "I saved your life. This is you paying me, sweet thing."
She laughed and buried her face into my neck, kissing me there and holding me tight around my waist. Familiar and wholesome. Like she hadn't tried to push me away at all in the beginning.
She was the most incredible woman I had ever known. Her fears were like shadows now, she had this uncanny ability to turn them into her most beloved passions. Once she had been afraid to love me. And now, the ways in which she loved me were making me feel unworthy of it.
"Sometimes I don't think you realise how much you saved me." I told her, casting my eye on the acoustic. "Not just from that car wreck. But from a life of misery."
Of course I would play for her. If not her, then nobody. She made herself comfortable on a shaggy looking bean bag, folding herself into it and resting her head against her curled fist as she regarded me. I pulled the mahogany acoustic down from the wall, not wanting to tend to wires and amps just yet.
I considered coming up with something on the fly, but it had been so long since I had tinkered with strings that my mind began to wander so far away I couldn't make them work. I strummed a little, hearing the notes play out and something weird happened. I thought I'd never feel this ever again, this visceral wave that washed over me to the point of almost growing hard as I felt the back of the guitar against my groin.
Her eyes widened. She wasn't prepared.
"How does it make you feel, to have an audience again?" She asked softly, seductively.
The strings needed tuning a little. I turned the keys at the top of the neck, plucking out chords until they sounded pitch perfect.
"Sexy." I replied, "I always felt sexy whenever I went out on stage. They made me feel sexy. Kinda the same way you are now. Knowing they want to fuck you every time you play for them."
I didn't realise how much I missed the adrenaline. The feral cries of a crowd. Their voices rising in unison. Lights and screaming and the feeling that I might ascend with their love. I'd been someone in my life before. I'd known what it felt like to open my eyes and know I was doing something I loved completely. I hadn't felt like this in what felt like a life time.
"This is who you are, Jake." She uttered, sliding her hand down the curve of her hips. "You can't run from who you are forever."
I felt as if I didn't deserve her. For all she had done for me, for how incredible she was. There was no crowd that could ever compare to the way I felt in that moment playing for her.
"I can't sing our songs like Josh could." I confessed, "I'd be a poor imitation. But I'll try."
I couldn't hold the same power with my voice that my brother could. The part of me that had promised never to play again still sat in the shadows whispering to me that it would never be the same. But louder than that was Amelia's face watching me strum out the first chords of a song that meant everything to me.
"What's it called?" She asked.
Day 469 ~ Amelia
I knew he would love it. I'd all but forgotten about the little music room at the back of the big house on the corner of the road that led into Lafayette. It had meant nothing to me the first time I'd ventured in there. There was nothing in there that was of any use to me.
But today, it was like seeing the sun peek out from a grey cloud. I'd gone from doing everything in my power to ensure that he was never necessary to me, to doing everything in my power just to see him smile.
"It's called Broken Bells." He replied, "Josh used to say that it was about seeing that when things sometimes feel broken most of the time they're just lessons sent to help us see that everything will be alright in the end. I really wish he could be here to see that he was so fucking right."
What would I have done if he hadn't felt the same? I could feel myself dying a little inside at the melancholy way he played. His face expressing his grief. He played so hauntingly beautifully, in a way I hadn't really been prepared for. He closed his eyes and didn't even need to look at the way his fingers moved across the strings. He knew them, and they responded to him so lovingly. Almost as if they were an entity all of their own, able to come when he called.
If he hadn't have loved me in return I'd have been driven mad by it. Every rational bone in my body broken if I'd been forced to live beside him unrequited. I began to understand how lucky and fortunate I was as he began to sing. That he and I were somehow fated. And it wasn't just a coincidence that he was driving past me that day. He was creation and I was necessity. He'd made music for a world that needed to hear it and I'd treated them when they were sick. And for some unfathomable reason, we'd been left behind to exist together in this empty world.
But empty didn't have to mean broken. There was nothing but love in the world again. Nothing but this painful song that made tears spill from my eyes as I watched him and listened. What if this song was the only one being played? And the only one being listened to? I had hope that if anyone else had been left behind that they had somehow managed to find each other and find love within it.
"That was...beautiful." I sobbed, laughing at myself for crying at it.
He put down the guitar and came to me. Launching himself into the bean bag, the scrunchy sound of tiny styrofoam balls moving around as he wiggled into the space beside me.
"It always got an emotional reaction whenever we played it." He sighed, trailing soft palms down the side of my face. "It felt like people resonated with our songs for all different kinds of reasons. But with Broken Bells it always felt we were all on the same page. All of us feeling the same thing at the same time."
How could I have ever doubted him? This beautiful man with his beautiful music?
"I was just thinking, while you were playing it, that I hoped that somewhere out there that other people were listening to songs for the first time. That they'd found each other and found love, even in a world seemingly broken." I countered, feeling the heat of that familiar rush when I knew he was about to make love to me.
"If they aren't, then we have to love for all of those who can't." He said, trailing kisses down my jaw line.
Sometimes it felt silly. The things we said to each other. Things in the dead of night. In the cold light of day. In the middle of the afternoon when he was at his most sleepy, when he would linger in the kitchen looking to score a bowl of stew or soup before curling up on the couch with a book before he would fall asleep.
Even now, I could feel him nuzzle in. Our bodies entwined on the bean bag lazily tracing his thumb over my nipple as he sucked the flesh on my neck into perfect little shapes of his mouth.
"So, you really do like it?" I checked, just wanting to hear him say it one more time.
"Oh, yeah." He yawned, "That Les Paul is coming home with us for sure. And maybe I'll come back for the Strat, too."
I was wearing the black yoga pants I saved for hiking. The ones that I wore to collect fire wood. To muck out the horses and clear out the chicken coop. I never felt particularly sexy in them, or desirable. It felt almost like we'd become accustomed to seeing each other in our most desolate states.
But when he slipped them down around the curve of my ass and hitched me around so I was facing away from him, I was glad that I'd worn them. The way he pressed his hard on into my back and continued to roll my nipple around between his fingers as he breathed harder into my ear was the blessing I'd needed to know that I'd done the right thing.
We were both tired from the hike. Our bodies crying out for rest. The afternoon sun began to slip away, making room for cloud and darkness. I was acutely aware that there was no power in this house. No electricity. No running water. No heat. It was in my mind to interrupt his ministrations with these facts, but as his hand slipped below, coming up into my entrance from behind, I lost all manner of speech.
"You gonna let me thank you properly?" He asked, slaking two fingers inside me slowly. "Be my good girl and let me show you how much I love you?"
I was in no mood to protest. I watched the light outside fade as he ran stripes up my slit and into my clit. Whispering obscenities and freeing himself one handedly as he played with me. Letting his cock rest between his stomach and the curve of my ass, leaking a little against our flesh.
"Can you feel it?" He breathed, "How much I love you?"
It was all I could feel. There was no house. No darkness. No eerie silence as the wind rushed through the trees. Howling like there was someone out there to hear it. Only Jakes breath, the bean bag as it shuffled beneath us, and the sound of my untamed scream as he penetrated me.
He didn't try to quieten me. Buffeting my wild moans with deep thrusts that came like chasms to break me in half. Each time he bottomed out, he savoured it. Taking the briefest of moments to feel me clenched around him before pulling back slowly. The need to fuck and the need to sleep battling it out for supremacy.
"Pretty fucking grateful, aren't you?" I replied, leaning my head back into his waiting mouth.
When he was like this, all in need and eager to satisfy any way that he could, I often thought back to how it had been that first time. On the ground in the mud, knees caked in it and the earth beating in time with us. And how in the time since, we'd leisurely made love on the kitchen floor some mornings. In the shower, just stroking each other to pass the time. Him, on top of me, in the bed we now shared. And me, arms around the trunk of a tree whilst he fucked me from behind out in the woods even though it was still a little cold out there.
"For this pussy? Always." He purred into my ear, like he was serenading me.
I knew that I'd never tire of it. The way he felt inside me. The way he fit so perfectly. I never felt so full, like something had been made just for me. He wasn't just rhythm and blues, he was equipped to make me quiver with the mere mention that he might take me right there and then.
I'd lament it later on. How all my lovers before him had been lacking. How I'd swiped left and right, attended blind dates and settled when I shouldn't have. For men that couldn't make me cum or men who couldn't text me back.
"Mmmmm..." I murmured softly, arching against his quickening pace. "It would be the last man on earth that would end up being mine..."
The gentle laughter that expelled from his mouth against the shell of my ear was like summer rain. Teasing my senses, touch taste and scent. His hair was sweat drenched at his temples, as it often was when he fucked me, and I could taste the salt of it in his kiss.
"She speaks so highly of me." He breathed, "Now let her know no other man will ever have her..."
He would claim me. Over and over again. Even when there was no other to counter his claim. I let his hand wrap around my throat, edging me to the distance it would take to push me over the edge of the world. Thrusting into me so hard my entire body shook. I knew the bean bag had ripped at some point, sending the tiny little white foam balls scattered across the room. But I didn't care.
I'd keep finding them in strange places for weeks afterwards. As he rolled me onto the floor and continued to pound me, vicious and unrelenting. He'd never silenced my mewling cries before, content to let them ring out into the ether.
But not this time. It was like his gratitude couldn't be satisfied until he could hear the one sound he desired. His body raged on top of mine, our clothes half on and half off. His sweaty palm came to rest over my open mouth. Muffling my cries to a dull humm. His eyes silently pleading with me to let them die. And to just listen...
"Hush." He encouraged, resting his mouth against the back of his hand as he continued.
There it was. Against the backdrop of the breeze outside. The sound of how wet I was. His cock hitting my satiated pussy. Moist flesh against moist flesh. The most inconceivable feeling washed over me. This man, the only man that ever was, wanted to silence my mouth only to better hear the sound of my pussy being fucked.
And the drop of his eyelids as he listened had me in another state of being. Half closed and fucked with desire for the way it slipped in and out, wet and completely his.
"Thankyou, my love." He whispered, before he allowed himself to cum.
I was never certain if it was for the music, or the way I let him fuck me. I didn't really care. I let my own orgasm rise moments later, the two of us breathless and spent on the gutted belly of that old bean bag.
Day 470 ~ Amelia
We hunkered down for the night. Choosing to make our way back at first light, gathering all the blankets we could find and sleeping on the couches that were, quite simply, more luxurious than any couch we could have gotten in the cabin.
Jake took the one opposite me, falling asleep first. His gentle snores lulling me into my own dreams. It felt like no time had passed at all before my eyes sprang open, the red of morning creeping in.
I rubbed my eyes and stretched. Taking a moment to recall where I was. This place was eerie, even in daylight. And I wished that there were something, anything...that would remind me that people had once lived here. The ticking of a clock, perhaps. Or the grass being cut outside. I could have laid there a little longer, still tired and drowsy, but I was eager to be gone.
I kicked off the blankets and expected Jake to be laying there, ever the one to wake up last, but my heart fell into my stomach at the sight of the empty couch. Blankets still left precisely where he had kicked them off.
"Jake?!" I called, expecting his voice to filter down the hall from the music room.
Silence.
"Jake?!" I called again, pulling on my pants and shoes as I made my way through the house.
I expected to find him gathering up all the instruments he wanted to take. Agonising over which ones to take now and which ones to come back for. But there was nothing but the aftermath of what we'd done. And all the guitars were accounted for.
"Jake, this isn't funny." I cried, checking behind the curtains like a child playing hide and seek. "Jake, I'm being serious now!!!"
Panic began to rise in my chest. My heart soaring, making me dizzy as I flew through the house. Room after room coming up empty.
"Jake!!!" I screamed, running now. "Jake please!!!"
Had I ever given myself permission to imagine this, I would have driven myself mad. That one day he would simply vanish, like everyone else had, and truly I would have walked to my death in that moment. I had no desire to live in a world void of the man I loved.
"JACOB!!!" My voice broke on his name as I fell out of the door and into the back yard. "PLEASE!!!!"
I fell to my knees on gravel. Crying. Racking sobs expelled from me as I took fists full of tiny pebbles that cut into my flesh as I squeezed. I felt as if I couldn't breathe. My chest was tight, all the horror of him disappearing coursing through my veins as tears spilled down my flushed cheeks.
"Jake, I can't do this...you have to come back..." I begged, broken and beyond redemption.
In a matter of moments I'd gone from waking up, to screaming on my knees. I'd have thought it a nightmare had I not already endured one. The reality of this feeling was one I knew. Only this time, intensified by a love that had known no bounds. I could live in an empty world before I'd ever known him.
Not anymore.

Harry Styles and The Most Difficult Time of the Year!
Tumblr media
It's here! The first one-shot for my Holiday Spectacular.
“Lovie, we’ve been at this for hours, are you done yet?” H asked me. H as in Harry Styles, my boyfriend, who is being a very good sport while helping me with my Christmas Shopping.
“I’d be closer to being done if you would actually tell me what you want for Christmas H.” I reply in a slightly snarky manner as ive been attempting to get my answer to this question out of him since September.
“All I want for Christmas is You, baby.” H said back.
“Mariah Carey? Seriously H?” I say before turning into a kitchenware stall at the Christmas Market, and selecting a bells with holly cookie cutter for my mother. I’ve been giving her one every year since I was 6 and she let me help her make the sugar cookies. “Now I just need something for your mum,” I say after tucking the cookie cutter into the bag with the gifts for my dad, sister, and brother.
“I already have our gift for my mum.” H says to me, and quite matter of factly at that. “Now come on, let's get some cocoa to go, I wanna wrap you up, tie you in a bow, and put you under the Christmas tree for me.” You both laugh at that.
A few hours later, you've finally returned from the market and are getting your big wrapping station set up in your art room. It's huge. Big enough for quite literally every medium of art you do. Harry was happy to adjust his renovation plans when you agreed to move in with him just shy of a year ago. There are only two things in this lower level, your art room, and Harry's Studio. The music softly making its way through the sound panels for the instruments and that first croon Harry does. Though lately, Harry has been having the sound proofing on so nothing goes beyond his studio walls. And whenever you ask him about it his answer is the exact same, “You'll hear it one day Lovie, it is for you after all. Not until that one day though, there will be no spoilers.” That last line is your favorite because he glares at his mates, Mitch and Kid especially since he knows you're pretty close with them.
Now as Harry is chilling in the lounge chair in your art room singing acoustic Christmas songs while you wrap gifts, you stop every so often and turn to him.
“H, I need the present for your mum so I can wrap it.” You say and he just smiles at you before getting himself back into the song.
Finally after hours of wrapping, Anne's gift is the only one left and you still don't have it.
“Harold Edward Styles, I need the gift for your mum, NOW!” You give him your best death glare, hoping it will scare him at least a little bit, after all, you're no fun when you're mad.
He runs over to the studio and comes back with a little black wooden ring box with Le Raoulivere engraved into it. He sets it in your hands and you open it automatically.
“It's empty H.”
“Mum's old one for the ring from Robin broke, so we're getting her a very, very nice new one.” H says and I go to wrap it in the blue snowflake paper I have when h interrupts again. “Can you use the sleeping puppies wearing Santa hats one instead please love?” He asks very politely and you just sigh before wrapping it up in the paper Harry wanted.
“Thank you my love!” He says with a kiss when the bin is all packed up with the presents.
*****
December 24th
We're all dressed up. Harry has on his suit he hugged Stanley Tucci in at the Brits. You're in a midi silver dress with white Mary Janes and a small white clutch. The house is decorated, the presents are under the tree, the appetizers are in the ovens, and the doorbell is ringing. Plenty of time to calm down and not freak out. Shit wait, that's the doorbell.
“They're here H.” You holler and run over to let everyone in. “Merry Christmas Eve!”
Your family and H’s family are both here. Your mum, Dad, sister, and brother, Anne, Desmond, Gemma and Michal, Mike and Amy were invited, but had other plans. Everyone mingled with appetizers while you and Harry prepped the lasagnas. When they were done you all sat around the table smiling and laughing with each other. After dinner you turned on the fireplace and some soft tunes while doing gifts. When Anne unwrapped the one from you and Harry, she just smiled at you. It was a bit confusing at first, until the music switched. Harry was suddenly more anxious, and everyone else was just watching the two of you.
“What's going on?” You whispered to Harry. He smiled, pulled you over to stand in front of the Christmas tree with him, and said, “Y/N.”
You instinctively replied, “Yes H?”
“Y/N, it's the title of this song.” He answered back and let the lyrics wash over you both. You realized they were telling the story of the two of you, from colliding in a rainstorm, to you having almost no clue who he was, the time you spent apart, and him showing up at your doorstep soaking wet from rain ready to do whatever it took to get you back, and finally his little dreams for the life ahead of you two. The last line of the song was, “All you have to do is say yes to me.”
He knelt before you, took the box from Anne, and pulled the ring out of his pocket. “Mum's been on my case lately, she knew I wanted to marry you before I did. So our real gift to her, only if you want it too, is us, because all I want for Christmas is you to agree to be my wife. I love you Y/N.”
“I love you too H. And yes, yes I want to be your wife!” You let out between tears.
After sliding the ring onto your finger, H kisses you and whispers, “best Christmas ever.”
“I made you a new pendant.” You whispered back.
“I'll love it, but even more so because it's from you.”

Seen and heard: The new Edward and Joyce Linde Music Building
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Until very recently, Mariano Salcedo, a fourth-year MIT electronic engineering and computer science student majoring in artificial intelligence and decision-making, was planning to apply for a master’s program in computer science at MIT. Then he saw the new Edward and Joyce Linde Music Building, which opened this fall for a selection of classes. “Now, instead of going into computer science, I’m thinking of applying for the master’s program in Music Technology, which is being offered here for the first time next year,” says Salcedo. “The decision is definitely linked to the building, and what the building says about music at MIT.”    Scheduled to open fully in February 2025, the Linde Music Building already makes a bold and elegant visual statement. But its most powerful impact will likely be heard as much as seen. Each of the facility’s elements, including the Thomas Tull Concert Hall, every performance and rehearsal space, each classroom, even the stainless-steel metal panels that form the conic canopies over the cube-like building’s three entrances — has been conceived and constructed to create an ideal environment for music.
Students are already enjoying the ideal acoustics and customized spaces of the Linde Music Building, even as construction on the site continues. Within the building’s thick red-brick walls, they study subjects ranging from Electronic Music Composition to Conducting and Score Reading to Advanced Music Performance. Myriad musical groups, from the MIT jazz combos to the Balinese Gamelan and the Rambax Senegalese Drum Ensemble, explore and enjoy their new and improved homes, as do those students who will create and perfect the next generation of music production hardware and software.
“For many of us at MIT, music is very close to our hearts,” notes MIT President Sally Kornbluth. “And the new building now puts music right at the heart of the campus. Its exceptional practice and recording spaces will give MIT musicians the conservatory-level tools they deserve, and the beautiful performance hall will exert its own gravitational pull, drawing audiences from across campus and the larger community who love live music.”
The need and the solution
Music has never been a minor pursuit at MIT. More than 1,500 MIT students enroll in music classes each academic year. And more than 500 student musicians participate in one of 30 on-campus ensembles. Yet until recently there was no centralized facility for music instruction or rehearsal. Practice rooms were scattered and poorly insulated, with sound seeping through the walls. Nor was there a truly suitable space for large performances; while Kresge Auditorium has sufficient capacity and splendid minimalist aesthetics, the acoustics are not optimal.
“It would be very difficult to teach biology or engineering in a studio designed for dance or music,” says Jay Scheib, recently appointed section head for Music and Theater Arts and Class of 1949 Professor. “The same goes for teaching music in a mathematics or chemistry classroom. In the past, we’ve done it, but it did limit us. In our theater program, everything changed when we opened the new theater building (W97) in 2017 and could teach theater in spaces intended for theater. We believe the new music building will have a similar effect on our music program. It will inspire our students and musicians and allow them to hear their music as it was intended to be heard. And it will provide an opportunity to convene people, to inhabit the same space, breathe the same air, and exchange ideas and perspectives.”
“Music-making from multiple musical traditions are areas of tremendous growth at MIT, both in terms of performance and academics,” says Keeril Makan, associate dean for strategic initiatives for the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (SHASS). The Michael (1949) and Sonja Koerner Music Composition Professor and former head of the Music and Theater Arts Section, Makan was, and remains, intimately involved in the Linde Music Building project. “In this building, we wanted all forms of music to coexist, whether jazz, classical, or music from around the world. This was not easy; different types of music require different conditions. But we took the time and invested in making spaces that would support all musical genres.”
The idea of creating an epicenter for music at MIT is not new. For several decades, MIT planners and administrators studied various plans and sites on campus, including Kendall Square and areas in West Campus. Then, in 2018, one year after the completion of the Theater Arts Building on Vassar Street, and with support from then-president L. Rafael Reif, the Institute received a cornerstone gift for the music building from arts patron Joyce Linde. Along with her late husband and former MIT Corporation member Edward H. Linde ’62, the late Joyce Linde was a longtime MIT supporter. SANAA, a Tokyo-based architectural firm, was selected for the job in April 2019.
“MIT chose SANAA in part because their architecture is so beautiful,” says Vasso Mathes, the senior campus planner in the MIT Office of Campus Planning who helped select the SANAA team. “But also because they understood that this building is about acoustics. And they brought the world’s most renowned acoustics consultant, Nagata Acoustics International founder Yasuhisa Toyota, to the project.”
Where form meets function
Built on the site of a former parking lot, the Linde Music Building is both stunning and subtle. Designed by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa of SANAA, which won the 2010 Pritzker Architecture Prize, the three-volume red brick structure centers both the natural and built environments of MIT’s West Campus — harmonizing effortlessly with Eero Saarinen’s Kresge Auditorium and iconic MIT Chapel, both adjacent, while blending seamlessly with surrounding athletic fields and existing landscaping. With a total of 35,000 square feet of usable space, the building’s three distinct volumes dialogue beautifully with their surroundings. The curved roof reprises elements of Kresge Auditorium, while the exterior evokes Boston and Cambridge’s archetypal facades. The glass-walled lobby, where the three cubic volumes converge, is surprisingly intimate, with ample natural light and inviting views onto three distinct segments of campus.
“One thing I love about this project is that each program has its own identity in form,” says co-founder and principal Ryue Nishizawa of SANAA. “And there are also in-between spaces that can breathe and blend inside and outside spaces, creating a landscape while preserving the singularity of each program.”
There are myriad signature features — particularly the acoustic features designed by Nagata Acoustics. The Beatrice and Stephen Erdely Music and Culture Space offers the building’s most robust acoustic insulation. Conceived as a home for MIT’s Rambax Senegalese Drum Ensemble and Balinese Gamelan — as well as other music ensembles — the high-ceilinged box-in-box rehearsal space features alternating curved wall panels. The first set reflects sound, the second set absorbs it. The two panel styles are virtually identical to the eye.
With a maximum seating capacity of 390, the Thomas Tull Concert Hall features a suite of gently rising rows that circle a central performance area. The hall can be configured for almost any style and size of performance, from a soloist in the round to a full jazz ensemble. A retractable curtain, an overhanging ring of glass panels, and the same alternating series of curved wall panels offers adaptable and exquisite sound conditions for performers and audience. A season of events are planned for the spring, starting on Feb. 15, 2025, with a celebratory public program and concert. Classrooms, rehearsal spaces, and technical spaces in the Jae S. and Kyuho Lim Music Maker Pavilion — where students will develop state-of-the-art production tools, software, and musical instruments — are similarly outfitted to create a nearly ideal sound environment.
While acoustic concerns drove the design process for the Linde Music Building, they did not dampen it. Architects, builders, and vendors repeatedly found ingenious and understated ways to infuse beauty into spaces conceived primarily around sound. “There are many technical specifications we had to consider and acoustic conditions we had to create,” says co-founder and principal Kazuyo Sejima of SANAA. “But we didn’t want this to be a purely technical building; rather, a building where people can enjoy creating and listening to music, enjoy coming together, in a space that was functional, but also elegant.”
Realized with sustainable methods and materials, the building features radiant-heat flooring, LED lighting, high-performance thermally broken windows, and a green roof on each volume. A new landscape and underground filters mitigate flood risk and treat rain and stormwater. A two-level 142-space parking garage occupies the space beneath the building. The outdoor scene is completed by Madrigal, a site-specific sculpture by Sanford Biggers. Commissioned by MIT, and administered by the List Visual Arts Center, the Percent-for-Art program selected Sanford Biggers through a committee formed for this project. The 18-foot metal, resin, and mixed-media piece references the African American quilting tradition, weaving, as in a choral composition, diverse patterns and voices into a colorful counterpoint. “Madrigal stands as a vibrant testament to the power of music, tradition, and the enduring spirit of collaboration across time,” says List Visual Arts Center director Paul Ha. “It connects our past and future while enriching our campus and inspiring all who encounter it.”
New harmonies
With a limited opening for classes this fall, the Linde Music Building is already humming with creative activity. There are hands-on workshops for the many sections of class 21M.030 (Introduction to Musics of the World) — one of SHASS’s most popular CI-H classes. Students of music technology hone their skills in digital instrument design and electronic music composition. MIT Balinese Gamelan and the drummers of Rambax enjoy the sublime acoustics of the Music and Culture Space, where they can hear and refine their work in exquisite detail.
“It is exciting for me, and all the other students who love music, to be able to take classes in this space completely devoted to music and music technology,” says fourth-year student Mariano Salcedo. “To work in spaces that are made specifically for music and musicians … for us, it’s a nice way of being seen.”
The Linde Music Building will certainly help MIT musicians feel seen and heard. But it will also enrich the MIT experience for students in all schools and departments. “Music courses at MIT have been popular with students across disciplines. I’m incredibly thrilled that students will have brand-new, brilliantly designed spaces for performance, instruction, and prototyping,” says Anantha Chandrakasan, MIT’s chief innovation and strategy officer, dean of the School of Engineering, and Vannevar Bush Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. “The building will also offer tremendous opportunities for students to gather, build community, and innovate across disciplines.”
“This building and its three programs encapsulate the breadth of interest among our students,” says Melissa Nobles, MIT chancellor and Class of 1922 Professor of Political Science. Nobles was a steadfast advocate for the music building project. “It will strengthen our already-robust music community and will draw new people in.”
The Linde Music Building has inspired other members of the MIT community. “Now faculty can use these truly wonderful spaces for their research,” says Makan. “The offices here are also studios, and have acoustic treatments and sound isolation. Musicians and music technologists can work in those spaces.” Makan is composing a piece for solo violin to be premiered in the Thomas Tull Concert Hall early next year. During the performance, student violinists will deploy strategically in various points about the hall to accompany the piece, taking full advantage of the space’s singular acoustics.
Agustín Rayo, the Kenan Sahin Dean of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, expects the Linde Music Building to inspire people beyond the MIT community as well. “Of course this building brings incredible resources to MIT’s music program: top-quality rehearsal spaces, a professional-grade recording studio, and new labs for our music technology program,” he says “But the world-class concert hall will also create new opportunities to connect with people in the Boston area. This is truly a jewel of the MIT campus.”
February open house and concert
The MIT Music and Theater Arts Section plans to host an open house in the new building on Feb. 15, 2025. Members of the MIT community and the general public will be invited to an afternoon of activities and performances. The celebration of music will continue with a series of concerts open to the public throughout the spring. Details will be available at the Music and Theater Arts website.

PP + PET Felt: The Core of Superior Sound Absorption
Are you tired of noisy environments? Whether it's a bustling office, a noisy home theater room, or a reverberant studio, excessive noise can significantly impact productivity, concentration, and overall well-being.
Introducing PET Acoustic Panels: Your Sound Solution
PET acoustic panels are a stylish and effective solution to reduce noise pollution and improve acoustics. These panels are made from high-quality PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) and PP (Polypropylene) materials, offering superior sound absorption properties.
How Do PET Acoustic Panels Work?
Sound Absorption: The porous structure of PET acoustic panels traps sound waves, preventing them from bouncing around the room. This reduces echo and reverberation, creating a more pleasant and focused environment.
Noise Reduction: By absorbing sound, these panels help to minimize noise transmission between rooms. This is particularly beneficial for open-plan offices and multi-family dwellings.
Aesthetic Appeal: PET acoustic panels come in a variety of colors, patterns, and finishes, allowing you to customize your space to match your personal style. They can be used to create stunning wall art or simply as a functional soundproofing solution.
The Benefits of PET Acoustic Panels
Improved Acoustics: Reduce echo and reverberation for a more pleasant listening experience.
Enhanced Privacy: Minimize noise transmission between rooms.
Increased Productivity: Create a quieter and more focused work environment.
Aesthetic Appeal: Add a touch of style to your space.
Eco-Friendly: Made from recycled materials.
Easy Installation: Simple to install with minimal tools.
Choosing the Right PET Acoustic Panel
When selecting PET acoustic panels, consider the following factors:
Sound Absorption Coefficient (SAC): A higher SAC indicates better sound absorption performance.
Panel Thickness: Thicker panels generally offer better sound absorption.
Fire Rating: Ensure the panels meet local fire safety regulations.
Aesthetic Appeal: Choose a style and color that complements your interior design.
Vertical Lap Felt: A Key Component of PET Acoustic Panels
Vertical lap felt, a type of non-woven fabric, plays a crucial role in the construction of PET acoustic panels. It provides additional sound absorption and helps to create a seamless, visually appealing finish.
By incorporating PET acoustic panels into your space, you can significantly improve sound quality, reduce noise pollution, and create a more comfortable and productive environment.

BAD BUDDY FILMING LOCATIONS 10
This post steps away from the original BBS to look at filming locations for the Bad Buddy episodes of Our Skyy 2 (overlapping with ATOTS as well), that aired in May/June 2023.
I think the fandom was so overjoyed at getting PatPran and the rest of the gang back in Our Skyy 2 that we were willing to overlook any inconsistencies (Pat's Baseball Mom hair included 😂), and this applies to the locations too. 🥰
Anyway, OS2 x BBS x ATOTS didn't use Rangsit University to represent South Technology U, and instead filmed the gang's academia-set scenes in King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL).
KMITL is about 30km east of central Bangkok in Nonthaburi province, not far from Suvarnabhumi Airport:
Tumblr media
The auditorium scenes were filmed at the KMITL Main Auditorium:

In Our Skyy 2, Pat/Pran's student apartment moved away from Tinidee Hotel Bangkok Golf Club and was represented instead by the Executive 2-Bedroom Suite (Type 5) at Northgate Ratchayothin Hotel/Serviced Residence (248 Ratchadapisek Road, Ladyao, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900; map coordinates are 13°49'46.7"N 100°33'47.9"E):
Tumblr media
The following are some images of Northgate Ratchayothin, with matching images from OS2 x BBS x ATOTS:

Northgate Ratchayothin was also the location for Tinn and Gun's tuition safehouse in My School President, although there they used a different 2-bedroom unit (Type 3) – see this link here and write-up here for more info. 😉
The Hightem office, where Pat and Pran go to seek sponsorship for their faculty plays, was also represented by Northgate Ratchayothin (which is why the reception looks more like a hotel lobby than an office one):
Tumblr media
(top) Our Skyy 2 x Bad Buddy x A Tale of Thousand Stars Ep.1 [2/4] 0.41 – PatPran at the Hightem reception; (bottom) the Northgate Ratchayothin reception counter
The Hightem meeting room was also at the same location (naturally):

The bus station where Pran departed for Chiang Mai and left Pat behind is the Sahaphan Roi Et Tour Company bus terminal. (Map coordinates are 13°49'38.5"N 100°33'23.6"E – the official address is 8/36 ซอย วิภาวดี 17 ถน วิภาวดีรังสิต Lat Yao, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900, but Google Maps will take you to a different location if you input this address.)

Once the action moved up to Pha Pun Dao, I did remember enough about ATOTS to know that OS2 x BBS x ATOTS re-used the same buildings up in the mountains. Most of these – unlike settings in other BLs – had been purpose-built for the show, and it was cool to see them still standing, looking good three years or so after they were first erected.
With a bit of searching, I can confirm that the Pha Pun Dao village buildings (Tian's house, the Pha Pun Dao school, etc.) are located at The Union of Hill Tribe Villages and Long Neck Karen in Nang Lae, Chiang Rai province. Due to the popularity of ATOTS, the set buildings can be visited as a tourist attraction in their own right, and are marked on Google Maps as such:
Tumblr media
(above) The location of Tian's house (and other Pha Pun Dao buildings) on Google Maps, also linked here (the approximate map coordinates are 20°01'18.6"N 99°53'36.4"E)
There are in fact thousands of photographs posted on Google Maps for this location and I haven't been through all of them. The following is a sampling, with some matching scenes from ATOTS and/or Our Skyy 2.
Here's Tian's home in both ATOTS and OS2 x BBS x ATOTS. Three years later it's looking much more lush with planting everywhere, but it's definitely the same house:

This is a Bad Buddy blog so I'm not going into the Ep.4 PhuTian locations in detail; they're easy enough to find because they were mostly at Emquartier Mall and the Buddy Oriental Riverside Hotel.
Emquartier Mall was also where Ice Paris and Pearwah's music video for the boppy theme song รักติดไซเรน to My Ambulance was set. 😍
But here's just one PhuTian location to close things off for good measure:

FEBRUARY 2024 ART FASCINATION DIARY
If you missed my post last month, then I'll briefly explain that I thought it would be fun to write a short diary post each month, about the art that I've been obsessed with. Then, I can easily look back and remember what was making me happy all throughout 2024. If you are reading this, then I hope you will enjoy hearing about these things, or checking them out too!!!
Tumblr media
MEMOIR / AUDIOBOOK: The Anthropocene Reviewed is John Green's memoir, framed as a collection of reviews of seemingly random aspects of 'the current geologic age'. I want to note that I had never finished any other John Green book, so I was going into this one as more of a hater than a fan. However, I was unexpectedly moved by it and now consider it one of the greatest books I've ever experienced. I also want to note that listening to the audiobook, narrated by John Green himself, really added a lot to the experience (including two additional chapters). Despite the subject matter being intensely personal, the genius of this memoir is that, by framing it as a collection of reviews, John Green is able to place greater emphasis on things outside of himself. Rather than just narrating his singular experiences, he creates a memoir to celebrate and sympathize with all life on planet Earth. It is informative and humbling— fascinating and earnest. I want to highly recommend this book (or audiobook) to everyone, because I feel like it will genuinely enrich your soul. There are chapters that will probably make you cry, but in a way that is healing and constructive. I give The Anthropocene Reviewed... 5 stars.
REALITY / GAME SHOW: RuPaul's Drag Race season 16 started in January of 2024, and has remained as my favorite thing on television for these past two months. It's another example of something that I had no interest in, until I was forced to watch it, and then it became one of my favorite things ever. Obviously, take all reality television with a grain of salt, but if you can do that then it's extremely inspiring to see the immense amount of talent that every contestant brings to the runway. I'm not really into fashion, but even I can appreciate the blend of comedy, creativity, and practiced technique that's on display here. These performers really do tell stories with their drag, and I look at the artform much differently than I did before I started watching. It has made every Saturday something to look forward to, and if you've never checked it out before, then I've got to recommend it.
MUSIC: my favorite album of February was 「Wall Of Eyes」 This is actually a new album, by a band called The Smile, that was released in the final week of January, and I only heard about it because Vinny Vinesauce featured it on one of his streams. If you've heard of Radiohead, then you'll at least recognize the singer, Thom Yorke (although the three person band also features Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood, and drummer Tom Skinner). Despite The Smile seeming (at first) like just a side project of a couple Radiohead members, let me honestly admit that I have never connected with any Radiohead album as much as I've connected with this. I truly think every song on this album is incredible, and I listened to it front to back almost every day this February. Its genre is hard to describe, and maybe that's where some of the magic lies. It's light and acoustic, soft and jazzy... beautiful, but also a little tense and attention grabbing at times. As usual, I'd recommend just listening if you're curious about it at all, with my favorite song linked HERE!
MANGA: I was able to read a few more volumes of Dungeon Meshi this month, and I feel like it might soon claim the title of the single best manga I've ever read. Honestly, it's got it all. The themes, the artwork, the characters, the pacing, the paneling, the story's structure... I'm not exaggerating when I say that any way I look at this manga to critique it, I find excellence. In everything, there is deliberate ingenuity and soul. I will reveal that there is less focus on cooking, and more focus on worldbuilding as the story goes on, but I'm not even disappointed by that because everything it dishes out is still so good. I'm serious about this, especially if you're watching the show, try to find some copies of this manga or read it online. It's absolutely worth it.

Mastering the Art of AV Installation: A Comprehensive Guide
In today’s digitally driven world, audio-visual (AV) installations have become essential for various sectors, including corporate offices, educational institutions, and entertainment venues. Whether it’s for a high-end conference room, a dynamic classroom, or a home theater, a successful AV installation can transform any space into a highly interactive and engaging environment. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the key aspects of mastering AV installation, ensuring you achieve top-notch results every time.
Understanding the Basics of AV Installation
Before diving into the complexities, it's crucial to grasp the basics of AV installation. Planning Your AV Installation
A successful AV installation begins with meticulous planning. Here’s a step-by-step approach:
Assess the Space: Understand the dimensions, acoustics, and lighting of the installation area. This helps in selecting the right equipment and planning the layout.
Define Objectives: Clearly outline what you want to achieve with the AV installation. Are you aiming for a cinematic experience, a professional conference setup, or an interactive classroom?
Budgeting: Determine your budget early on. High-quality AV equipment can be expensive, but it’s a worthwhile investment for the performance and durability it offers.
Technical Considerations: Factor in the technical requirements, such as power supply, ventilation for heat-generating equipment, and network infrastructure.
Installation Process
Step-by-Step Guide
Pre-Installation Checks: Ensure all components are present and in working order. Test the equipment beforehand to avoid any last-minute issues.
Mounting and Placement: Install display systems at optimal viewing angles and heights. Place speakers strategically for even sound distribution.
Cabling and Connectivity: Run cables neatly and securely, avoiding any potential tripping hazards or interference issues. Test all connections to ensure seamless integration.
Programming and Calibration: Set up control systems to simplify operation. Calibrate audio and video settings for the best possible quality.
Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough testing of the entire setup. Identify and resolve any issues to ensure everything functions perfectly.

Upgrade Your Walls with Acoustic Panels: Silence Never Looked This Good!
Tumblr media
In the world of architectural design, there's a growing trend that marries style and function like never before. Acoustic panels are no longer just a functional necessity for noise reduction. They're now a design statement, adding texture, color, and sophistication to spaces. If you're looking to elevate the aesthetic appeal of your space while enhancing its acoustic performance, acoustic wall panels are the perfect choice as the acoustic boards for walls can transform the atmosphere.
Acoustic Panels Power in Interior Design
Gone are the days when acoustic board panels were solely confined to office spaces or music studios. Today, they are an essential element in contemporary interior design. They not only help in absorbing sound but also provide a sleek, modern look to your walls. With a variety of materials, textures, and colors available, acoustic panels can seamlessly blend into any room's decor.
Where to Place Acoustic Wall Panels for Maximum Impact?
When it comes to choosing the right spot for your acoustic wall panels, it’s all about finding the right balance between function and design. A well-placed acoustic board panel can do wonders for reducing sound reverberation, especially in larger spaces. You can install them strategically to enhance the acoustics in home theaters, dining rooms, or even open-plan offices.
However, the key is to ensure that the acoustic panels do not disrupt the flow of your space. For a more subtle approach, opt for panels that blend with your wall color. Alternatively, choose bold, graphic designs if you want to make a statement. Either way, the result is an upgraded interior where style meets sound control.
Combining Functionality and Style with Acoustic Boards for Walls
The appeal of acoustic boards for walls lies in their ability to serve dual purposes: enhancing sound quality and boosting visual appeal. These boards come in a variety of materials, from foam to fabric-wrapped panels, that can be tailored to suit any aesthetic preference. Whether you prefer a classic fabric finish or a more contemporary wooden design, there is an option to match every style. By using acoustic panels, you can create visually pleasing walls that not only look good but also improve the sound experience of the room.
Moreover, the texture and color options available in acoustic board panels allow you to create unique patterns and designs. Mix and match different sizes and materials to craft a wall feature that is as much about art as it is about acoustics.
Acoustic Wall Panels: A Modern Twist on Traditional Wall Art
Who says functional elements can't be beautiful? Acoustic wall panels have become the modern answer to traditional wall art. Instead of settling for generic framed artwork or wallpaper, why not go for something that offers a stylish yet practical twist? These panels can be customized in various shapes, from geometric to organic, ensuring they fit your specific design vision.
Additionally, acoustic panels come in a range of finishes and textures, which gives you ample opportunities to experiment with wall designs that go beyond the usual. You can choose from plush fabric, felt, or even sleek wooden panels.
Elevating Your Space with Custom Acoustic Panels
For those seeking something truly unique, custom acoustic panels are the ultimate solution. Gone are the days when panels were bulky, unattractive structures. With modern design techniques, you can now create personalized acoustic boards for walls that reflect your taste and lifestyle. Custom designs allow you to choose the colors, materials, and patterns that suit your space.
Whether you're looking for a bold and dramatic statement or something subtle and understated, the right acoustic wall panels can transform your interior into a harmonious blend of aesthetics and acoustics. From high-end offices to cozy home lounges, custom panels can be crafted to complement any space.
How Acoustic Panels Can Revolutionize Your Room’s Atmosphere
The impact of acoustic wall panels extends far beyond their practical purposes. These panels can instantly transform the mood of a room, providing a sense of calm and serenity. In environments like home offices or study areas, reducing noise pollution can significantly improve focus and concentration. Meanwhile, in home theaters, the right acoustic boards for walls can enhance the cinematic experience, making movie nights feel like you're at the theater.
In social spaces like restaurants or cafes, acoustic board panels can help reduce background noise, creating a more intimate and pleasant atmosphere. Whether you're aiming for a professional ambiance or a relaxing retreat, acoustic panels are versatile enough to elevate the acoustics of any room.
Wrapping Up: Silence with Style
Upgrading your walls with acoustic panels is one of the easiest ways to enhance both the functionality and beauty of any space. Whether you choose to install acoustic board panels to reduce noise, improve acoustics, or simply add a modern touch to your walls, these panels offer endless possibilities.
So why settle for just silent walls when you can have walls that look as good as they sound? Add some flair, reduce the noise, and enjoy the perfect balance of form and function with acoustic panels today.

Creative Room-wise Wall Design Ideas: Enhance Your Living Space with Style and Functionality
Tumblr media
Designing your walls with intention and creativity can significantly transform your living spaces. Each room in your home serves a unique purpose, and the wall design should reflect and enhance that function. This article explores room-specific wall design ideas with a special focus on groove-less wall panels, fluted wall panels, UV wall panels, acoustic wall panels, and other innovative techniques.
Living Room: The Heart of the Home
The living room often serves as the focal point of your home, making wall design essential for setting the tone.
1. Groove-less Wall Panels
Groove-less wall panels provide a clean and seamless appearance. Their smooth surface allows for a minimalist look while offering flexibility for painting or adding decals. These panels work well behind the television or as a backdrop for art installations.
2. Fluted Wall Panels
Fluted wall panels add texture and depth. Installing them vertically creates an illusion of height, making your living room feel larger. These panels can be used in neutral tones for subtle sophistication or bold colors for a striking feature wall.
3. Accent Walls with Natural Materials
Consider using natural stone, brick, or wood veneer to create an accent wall. These materials introduce warmth and texture to the living space, complementing both modern and rustic interiors.
4. Floating Shelves Integration
Combine functionality with aesthetics by installing floating shelves directly on the walls. Use them to display books, plants, or decor items, adding a personal touch while keeping the room organized.

Interactive Elements: Modern designs often include interactive features such as digital art installations, automated shading systems, and advanced acoustics.
5. Indoor-Outdoor Living
Seamless Transitions: Creating fluid transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces is a key trend, with large glass doors and expansive windows that blur the boundaries.
Outdoor Living Areas: Incorporating outdoor living spaces, such as terraces, rooftops, and garden areas, enhances the connection to nature and provides additional recreational areas.
Natural Light and Views: Maximizing natural light and capturing cityscape or bay views through strategic window placement and open designs is essential to modern San Francisco architecture.
Incorporating Modern Trends into Your Design
Architects in San Francisco are expertly blending these trends into residential and commercial projects to create spaces that are both innovative and reflective of the city’s unique character. Here’s how architects can integrate these modern architectural elements into their designs:
Prioritize Sustainability: Incorporate energy-efficient systems, eco-friendly materials, and green certifications into your projects to meet modern environmental standards and client expectations.
Optimize Space Utilization: Design multi-functional spaces and adaptive layouts that maximize the use of limited urban space while providing flexibility and comfort.
Embrace Minimalism: Utilize clean lines, neutral color palettes, and high-quality materials to create serene, uncluttered environments that highlight simplicity and elegance.
Leverage Technology: Integrate smart home technologies and advanced building systems to enhance functionality, efficiency, and innovation in your designs.
Enhance Indoor-Outdoor Connections: Create seamless transitions between interior and exterior spaces with large glass doors, open floor plans, and outdoor living areas that extend the living experience.

Exploring the Audio Setups of Famous Music Venues Around the World
It’s magic entering a legendary music venue: the lights go down, the space in the room changes, and that first note of a live performance resonates through the air. Behind this amazing experience, however, is an intricate audio setup working around the clock to create perfect sound. Iconic music venues around the world are known not only for their history but also for the great attention to detail in their audio systems. Let’s explore how these venues use cutting-edge setups to deliver unforgettable soundscapes and what we can learn from them.
The Role of Acoustics in Iconic Venues
For starters, let’s get a good grasp of the basics — acoustics. The design of a venue immensely affects how sound travels. From the architecture to the materials applied, everything is tailored so that sound can thrive in such an environment.
Natural Acoustics The majority of the opera houses or theaters are made with natural acoustics. For instance, curved ceilings and walls will help scatter and even spread the sound to every point in the room.
Acoustic Treatments Modern music venues nowadays employ acoustic panels, diffusers, and bass traps strategically placed to eliminate echoes and control frequencies. Thus, the sound system can perform free from room interference.

Famous Venues and Their Audio Setups
1. The Royal Albert Hall (London, UK)
This historic venue has been a host for everything from classical orchestras to rock legends. Due to its circular design and domed roof, the hall provides unique acoustic challenges. The answer to these lies in the usage of state-of-the-art audio systems that contain directional speakers to focus the sound toward the audience while reducing the reflections.
Engineers here have also provided advanced digital consoles to manage complex mixing requirements for diverse performances. This arrangement would ensure the same clarity for a full orchestra as it does for a solo acoustic performance.
2. The Sydney Opera House (Sydney, Australia)
The architectural beauty of Sydney Opera House does not compare with the audio abilities that it presents. Every performing venue in this opera house has a specific genre for which the performance is set up.
For amplified performances, sound engineers use distributed speaker arrays to distribute the sound equally to the audience. This design prevents volume disparities, where the front rows are too loud and the back rows are too soft. Moreover, real-time monitoring systems enable engineers to adjust the sound mid-performance for the best possible outcome.
3. Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Colorado, USA)
An outdoor venue carved into natural rock formations, Red Rocks offers a listening experience never found elsewhere. While the natural surroundings amplify the sound, engineers must use advanced systems to balance the mix.
In this case, the line array speakers have been placed strategically suspended to project the sound across the large outdoors space. Because of the venue size, engineers also make use of delay towers — secondary speakers placed further back to ensure that people hear the sound at the same time, no matter where they stand from the stage.
How Do These Systems Work Together?
Creating the perfect live sound requires putting together several separate components that cooperate with each other:
Microphones Everything takes off from using microphones which capture the source of the noise from the actual performers. To ensure clarity in the sound emanating from instrument or voice is selected by microphones.
Mixing Consoles Once recorded, the source is passed via a mixing console where engineers do the necessary mixing of levels as well as adjust EQ and added effects. Digi consoles hold the majority nowadays, offering superior flexibility and controls.
Speaker Systems Speakers are the last leg of delivering the sound to the audience. Line array systems, vertical stacks of speakers that distribute sound evenly across large spaces, are used by professional venues. Low frequencies are added with subwoofers, creating that deep, immersive bass.
Monitoring Systems In-ear monitors or stage wedges ensure that performers hear themselves correctly, which is critical to staying in sync with the music.

The Technology Behind the Magic
Top venues typically spend money on the latest technology to keep their sound systems up to par.
Digital Signal Processing (DSP) DSP technology allows engineers to make real-time adjustments to audio signals. It can correct frequency imbalances, add effects, and even cancel out feedback loops.
Networked Audio Systems Audio in larger venues is distributed over a network, allowing mixing consoles, speakers, and other equipment to communicate with each other without interruption. This also allows for remote control, so engineers can adjust settings from anywhere in the venue.
Immersive Sound Modem venues have experimented with some immersion sound technologies such as 3D audio. These settings create a natural and more real listening experience in which the listener finds himself at the center of music.
Lessons for Aspiring Sound Enthusiasts
Whether designing a home studio or setting up a live performance, there’s much to be learned from these iconic venues:
Invest in Quality Equipment One may not have the most expensive equipment of world-famous venues, but spending money on reliable, good quality gear does make a difference. Start small with good microphones, speakers, and mixing tools.
Understand Your Space Be sure to listen for the acoustics in your room or venue. Add acoustic treatments like foam panels or curtains to dampen echoes and get a balanced sound environment.
Test and Adjust Sound systems are constantly adjusted for best performance. Test your setup thoroughly for the specific performance or event and make further adjustments accordingly.
Seek Professional Advice Consult with experts or even buy equipment from professional audio shops to ensure that you obtain all the equipment you require. Their advice will make you avoid most of the headache that you would have had if you started alone.
The audio configurations of legendary music halls are not just about power; they are about precision, creativity, and a deep understanding of sound. These venues marry advanced technology with thoughtful design to create unforgettable experiences for audiences.
Whether you’re an audio enthusiast, a musician, or someone who simply loves live music, exploring these setups is a fascinating journey into the world of sound engineering. And who knows? Maybe one day, you’ll find yourself behind the mixing console, crafting sonic experiences that inspire the next generation of music lovers.
