You know I made jokes about them deadnaming Erenville but you know what he hasn’t said a word about his mother calling him Eleneshpya. And considering how strongly Dawntrail is about themes of reclaiming heritage and celebrating culture including language, I think that maybe there’s something to be said about the rude, off-putting man who desperately wants to fit in to the point of adopting a more common name (and probably accent) being uncomfortable with but ultimately reconciling with his original identity.

Just finished TSC and I feel like I've been put through the wringer but also... lighter? I was so afraid a new book would mess up my view of the characters post-canon but it was just really nice to see Renee, Neil, Kevin, Wymack, and Abby again, and getting to know Jean and Jeremy better felt like a natural continuation of where we left off. It was particularly gratifying to see Neil being cool and confident and a little shit, I'd missed him so much!! Laila and Cat are incredible (though I'll keep thinking of her as Cata), the Trojans are awesome, the future is as promising as it is daunting, and I can't wait to see it.

sometimes i randomly remember how insane maggie stiefvater was for making ronan lynch—a man that can create reality—a man of god, when he himself is a god of a man. then to take this man and have him be not only in love with, but a literal soulmate of a man named adam. parrish. adam parrish. who, mind you, lives above ronan's very own place of worship. and is the namesake of the first of mankind that the bible says god made from the literal dust of the ground (adam parrish: comes from nothing, hair "dusty" in color) and appoints him to care for the garden of eden (adam parrish: sacrifices himself to ronan's sentient forest). then has adam viewing ronan as a god and ronan saying "maybe he dreamt (created)" adam???? like who just fucking writes that and goes about their life?
