Could I mayhaps know more about your Battle Bruiser guys, they look silly/pos
YES YES YES!!! YOU DONT KNOW HOW LONG IVE BEEN WAITING TO TALK ABOUT THEM!!!
i’ll try to explain them the best i can because i’m very bad at explaining my ocs,,, i’ve had these guys since i was little baby PRETEEN OKAY?!! The main guys are Rex, Bailey and the siren girl (still no name!! HELP ME) The pink girl you saw is just a reoccurring antagonist since i got really attached to her design lol
Anyways, story wise it’s just your basic crime fighting hero thingy. They all work for a company that employs people to fight all the crime around the city. There’s other elements but i won’t lore dump since we are focusing on the little goobers!!
Bailey is just the smart guy of the group. He doesn’t fight physically because his hand would probably vaporize if he tried to punch somebody, SO he just tends to use his inventions to help him in battle. He’s usually the most grounded as well, and while he IS nice he can be pushed over really easily.
Rex!! His personality was really inspired by Knuckles when i was trying to (unsuccessfully) get into Sonic. Though, i do think his personality differs a little bit now, hopefully! He is serious about his job (protecting people!!!), and can end up getting frustrated easily. Other than that though, when off the job he’s a himbo, an aggressive himbo but we love that for him. Doesn’t really use any weapons, just his fists and maybe his tail sometimes (bowser style!!)
Okay now siren girl!! She’s a tomboy! Yay!! She came from a rural town before she moved to the city so she has a bunch of street smarts. She uses a spear to fight! So cool! She has older sister vibes, very nice girl! A little reckless. Also competitive issues! Absolutely won’t let herself lose a fight if she can help it, she’s stubborn!
i’ll probably talk about the pink girl another time, but not too much right now since i still have to draw her sidekick!! Her partner in crime! The most i’ll say is that she was inspired by rogue the bat, though, she’s does act a bit differently than her now of course
Oh! And since these guys were based off the toys i played with as a kid, i’ll show them off!
i actually only have Rex left as far as i know, so i had to find the rest of them on google!! Missing and gone forever!!

Every time I see a post lamenting how Viv used to draw weird furry erotica, or the 2012 ass "pedo bear" style comedy that was always a joke and just fandom bullshit. How Stella obviously was supposed to be fucking her brother but its been pulled back on, or how ValAngel is obviously kink shit(even if we're also taking it very seriously at the same time)
Like, everything about this show was supposed to By Freaks, For Freaks. From the character design, to the edgy humor.
But fandom culture has changed a lot from when Viv first started out in that OC's tumblrina time. Ship and let ship has almost completely died, purity culture and the normalization of second degree murder has resulted in a creative landscape thats so fucking terrified to be seen as "problematic", that art is being pushed aside and sanitized because no one has fucking basic reading comprehension.
I mean, that whole thing where people were telling Bryan Fuller that he's the reason that gay conversion camps are good and should come back full force. The amount of trans women I saw on Twitter become publicly accused of "cp". A youtuber at one point SAVED the "cp" on her computer, edited the "cp" into a cutesy thumbnail, and distributed it. So, either its not csem and she fucking knows it and wouldn't have saved it and reposted it but really wanted to to tell people to kill this one specific woman, OR this is how seriously these kinds of people take things like literal csem.
Like, is Vivziepop annoying? Yeah, kinda. Is she not necessarily the best writer in the world? No, not really. But she's not a pedophile or some serial abuser because she's a furry. I'm genuinely so baffled by people watching a Furry Show and then being like, "omfg......she drew.........furry porn?????". I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of the reason Hazbin/Helluva turned out so wonky(outside of amazon)is just, Viv didn't feel safe or comfortable actually expressing her art and telling her story. There's so many people who would jump for joy if she killed herself, because they think snakes are a good enough reason to kill someone. Not to mention, the baseless accusations about stupid and meaningless things muddies the waters of actual abuse or things that could be legitimate problems. There's a 50/50 chance the thing Viv did that was problematic will be "drew pictures" or "has bad working conditions" and both of these tend to be held to the same standard of shit we need to take her down for.
I hate how you can't critique anything anymore, because saying you're "critical of the media" is more often then not, just a fucking dog whistle for "omg pls pls give me the opportunity to harass someone for not giving in to the thought policing I PERSONALLY have made up." Instead of someone who actually likes analysis and media criticism.
I'd love to complain about Hazbin/Helluva, I think it kinda sucks!!! I'm genuinely heartbroken that something that was obviously meant for Weirdos has been appropriated by puritanical babies, like they're horny housewives ashamed of themselves because they like 50 shades or whatever.

Gonna ask this to a few people that inspire me, but how do you take inspiration from things without feeling like whatever you make is just bad in comparison? Or like a downgraded version of the thing(s) that inspired you?
(If this is too negative feel free to delete/ignore, I'm sorry)
Oh gosh this is such an interesting question since, I dont think I really have feelings of thinking my version is bad? Or that I am just a copy?
I am honestly just grateful my work became as popular as it is in the first place haha- low expectations going in to begin with. That and, I am very aware my art style isnt as defined and polished as other peoples styles, but I have come to terms with this! And hey the improvement in my own artwork over the past year is a massive trip if you go back through some of my older stuff- I am improving, slowly.
I mean, 2AL started by complete accident, and was "inspired" from me wishing the Leos from OMO or MNMC would hug it out already- but if you were to compare 2AL to one of those, they are very different. Hell even comparing OMO and MNMC, same starting point, but still very different.
I think my only advice to other people trying to make an AU is to try and find some core theme/idea and work around that, rather than gather a bunch of little things from other sources you like into a big pile. Find some key message to start up a base with.

its always surreal to me to see people praise s2 of centaurworld. s2 was so spectacularly bombastic and aimless and it ended in this awkward forgettable fizzle.
i feel like a dick saying it b/c i really do love the show lmao. or, at least half of it lmao (/stares at tnwk). gf and i've been thinking about rewatching it just to write out our thoughts on why s2 was such a poor follow-up to s1 - from the tone to the setup to all the worldbuilding the narrative had to offer in between the (far more) memorable songs of s1. idk. it's sad because cw really had the bones of a cult classic, but idek if you can call it that.
ive seen a few posts commenting on its lack of popularity, and i feel like it certainly deserves more, b/c i do feel like it's a novel idea made w/ love, but the shift btwn s1 and s2 wasnt just in the plot. there was a full-on *fracture* in the quality and direction and i'm still scratching my head over it. more than i should be, probably. but, it's just a bummer.

Hello I absolutely LOVE reading all your thoughts about smosh dynamics. Your Gracie-Savannah post recently - magnificent. Sometimes if I find myself on your tumblr I inevitably lose quite some time dipping into your tags- especially the Courtmangela dynamics which are my fav. Idk I just thought you should know it’s appreciated by a random internet stranger who loves smosh too
:OOOOO Oh thank you so much that's SO flattering to hear!!! :'D <3333
I LOVE thinking about/appreciating interpersonal dynamics, and Smosh has so many fun and unique dynamics between the cast, its a blast to get to highlight and appreciate them. :) Courtmangela is great, every combination of the three is golden. They all like each other so much and clearly have a super fun time together, its great we get to witness some of that. :D I'm glad my tags help people other than me haha.
Caveat being, obvs with actual people its easy for analysis/assumptions about dynamics to spin into overanalysis/confirmation bias/projection in a way thats not productive. Or healthy! much less accurate lol. So its also very fun for me to get to dig in on some entirely fictional characters in a story, where I can actually do analysis and draw conclusions or use assumptions to talk about themes, and generally treat the characters as elements of the story as they are lol. Im glad that people seemed to like the Grace/Savannah post! I had a blast writing it. This was a really sweet ask, thanks anon :)
