Tangentially related to some of the discussion i posted earlier but quiet literally the first RW Art Month i participated I did it completely on whim like, one day before it started. And I mostly did it because I hadn't drawn a ton of rain world and wanted to draw more. Fandom presence was a lot smaller than and I was one of a handful of artists who did the entire thing. Fast forward and I still do Art Month and I've gotten to work with VC directly. But it was quite literally something I decided to do completely on whim that set the ball rolling, and for something a lil more niche and certainly with a lot more dev/fandom art involvement than most. It's really random how and why you might get noticed more than usual, especially with the "toss it into the search and hope it pays out' mechanism of Socmed
#t.extpost#and im hardly the fanciest art month artist out there so it wasnt even about being a jaw droppingly talented artist or whatever#and while artmonth for rw is still given a huge focus its also a much much bigger thing now with a much bigger number of participants#which is cool! its awesome how many people i saw do most if not all of last art month! and VC is really good about not just repping the#most popular artists or fanciest pieces#but theres So Much More there now and while its great for finding artists its also impossible to get Everyone in there you know?#Although they absolutely try#And this is like. one of the most fanartist involved devs ive ever seen in terms of both celebrating the art their fans make and actively#bringing those fans in to contribute#and its /still/ hard to get going just because thats how Posting is#i used to be more of a hk artist which is both a huge fandom and riddled with stunning artists but theres So Many#and niche fandoms are niche so youre more likely to connect with people but less likely to see a ton of engagement regularly -#probably best example i have for that was being briefly fixated on patapon.#Its just messy to try and find the hack that sets you up#just have fun and jump around and make what you like#get a sense of feeling for your style and some people will stick around for that vs. strictly the subject matter#others will look up the thing you switched too and some wont engage#you cant really control it#so have fun and draw that thing you randomly thought about at 2 am that doesnt match your blog#draw for that forgotten rpg you liked when you were 15 or draw for the 70 player max steam game you played for this week#you never really know what will happen#but its not really worth worrying about what will happen either

and he asks so many questions
hes genuinely so interested
he gives you carefully picked out bouquets of flowers and he keeps some flowers so when they die he knows when to get you a new bouquet
hes ur #1 fan
he thinks its so cool how u can manipulate plants n shit
and make them grow
he just finds it really cute how u care so much about the planet too
sometimes yall just sit in silence and do a lil gardening
u show him what u love and he shows u what he loves
HE LOVES taking you underwater
and if u can like do shit with the seaweed he thinks its awesome
like one time u changed the seaweed to be changed like a heart and he almost cried because it was so cute
u made him a flower crown to match the one u like wearing
and he literally died

he wore it everywhere

We saw people talking about insys relationships and we tried really hard not to come in cause you said you had So Many Asks but. We're frothing at the mouth. Our entire system is basically insys relationships tbh. Qprs, romantic, polycules, familial. We've got every kind of insys relationship you could ever think of. There's very few of us that dislike or find discomfort with each other (anymore) and it's. So cool. It's just a big family in headspace all the time. We get so excited just being able to talk about it! Most people think we're weird, lying, or whatever whenever we talk about our insys relationships because we're "not suffering so why would that be true?" Because we worked to get here! And even if we didn't it's none of your business!!! Fhakfjfhd we love each other so much and I'm so sorry that bothers people so much! Maybe they should find the love in their life!
Don't worry about sending in asks! It's true that we have a lot of asks to go through, but if we were overwhelmed we'd just close the inbox for a bit.
Your system sounds awesome!! And yeah, I feel like sometimes people expect the headmates of a system to always be at each other's throats. While that can obviously happen in systems, it feels odd for people to expect it (or require it to accept you as a "real system") when this is counter to practically all forms of healing and learning to live as a system (or achieving final fusion – but then, systems looking to achieve this still need to get along for the time before they fuse). We remember hearing tips left and right about how to get along and communicate with our system back when we were first discovering ourselves; we're all aware this can be a problem, and as such, this community does a damn good job at providing its members with resources and advice on how to solve it. Yes, it can take work to build trust and good will (or even just the ability to communicate) between headmates, but that's the same for any external relationship, so it's not like intrasystem relationships are unique in that regard.
Plus, if you have a lot in common with someone (for example, practically everything going on in your life) and spend time together (which most systems find themselves doing because they share the same body and thus the same space), it's no wonder that relationships (of any/all kinds) are going to form. It certainly took some time and work to get as far as we have with our system, but once we were aware the others existed, it became impossible for us to not form relationships with each other, simply by nature of us having to share the same space, time, body, and life. When you're stuck sharing a mind with someone you can feel the emotions of, you tend to become pretty close over time. Or at the very least, trusting of each other.
All of that was a long way to get to the point that we relate to what you're saying. Thank you for sharing your experience!

I wasn’t really a big fan of The Giggle by the time I finished watching it, and I liked it less the more that I thought about it. Which is a real shame, because I think it was full of a lot of great ideas that were squandered with poor execution. I didn’t really want to just post pages of negativity, so I’ll quickly skim through a list of things I think could’ve been done better, and maybe I’ll expand on some of them later or if I’m asked about them. Still, this is your warning for negativity.
The whole 'screens are evil and making everyone think they're right' felt so shallow and cheap, especially because it was set up as the main obstacle and then largely ignored. A lot of the characters at UNIT really didn't do much (I totally forgot about The Vlinx after my first watchthrough) but I think that didn't bother me much while watching because I was used to Chibnall regularly ignoring characters like that. It was nice to see Mel again, but she didn’t really serve much purpose.
RTD’s take on the Toymaker is quite similar to his take on the Master, which was sometimes fun and sometimes annoying (specifically the German accent, which lost its appeal pretty quickly for me). But he felt pretty hollow and full of wasted potential beyond that, feeling like he was there just to give the episode a villain. Although speaking of the Master, his brief inclusion was hilarious and an easy way to write him back into the show later, nicely done.
The last third of the episode had some many intriguing and potentially awesome ideas behind it. The new Doctor turning up partway through a story? Cool! The Doctor defeating his final villain alongside the next star of the show? Fun! The Doctor getting self-care and words of wisdom from his next self? So heartwarming! One Doctor retiring to be happy while his next incarnation travels off to continue the adventures? A fun use of the show's format!
But for me these ideas just didn’t work or didn’t fulfill their potential, and it’s mostly because there’s no narrative justification for them. No cause and effect. There’s no given reason for the Doctor to bigenerate, it just happens. There’s no particular reason that it was the Doctors rather than the Toymaker who won the game of catch to save the world, it just happens. Without any narrative reason the third act feels so unsatisfying, like spectacle for the sake of spectacle, and (I don’t say this lightly) incredibly lazily written.
That lack of story reason also undermines the ending, clearly the thing RTD was most interested in, by making it feel unearned. Like a first draft script that worked backwards to make it happen. The retirement ending itself I have mixed feelings about, which I’m not sure I can fully articulate. One thing I love to see is that RTD can actually do a genuinely happy ending rather than making every ending a tragedy. But said happy ending feels a little too ‘married-with-kids-and-a-white-picket-fence’ to me – though obviously I can’t stress enough how relieved I am that romance didn’t factor into it. It just felt like it wasn’t set up well enough. I’d probably like it a lot more if they made clear if Tennant’s Doctor was going to turn into Gatwa’s Doctor or if they’re just separate people now. It was sweet of RTD to try and bring a conclusion to the ‘Doctor is traumatised’ thing that he introduced to the show 18 years ago, but he did it poorly. At least it offers interesting new possibilities for the show going forward!
With all that said, in the end The Giggle felt to me like RTD retreading some of his biggest flaws as a writer, and throwing in a few borrowed from other showrunners for good measure. It was a disappointment both because of the good ideas just below the surface, and because it came after a very fun first episode and an incredible follow-up.
But like I said, I’m excited to see what the show does next! I saw talk that there’ll be lots of mythical and unnatural creatures turn up due to the Doctor’s salt thing, which is super cool. And obviously I’m excited for more Gatwa! I haven’t really felt a lot of reason to be excited about Ruby yet, but as always I’m ready to fall in love with the new companion quickly!

I saw your RMA Post but before i ask, first i love your artstyle its so beautiful and each time i see it, it makes my day :] and second what are your thoughts of S2 part 1 and 2? And if you can rewrite it what will it be?
Aha hello!! I didn't think that RMA post would actually catch any eyes but I'm it did!!
First off, thank you so much! It's the best feeling ever knowing my art can make people happy just like that :]]
As for your question, I recently just rewatched a good chunk of S2 Part 2 but some of the details around the later bits are still fuzzy (rewatching em is quite hard for me as the english dubs aren't exactly that easy to find out there unfortunately)
I will say though, rewatching it really opened my eyes to just how much of a downgrade Part2 is compared to S1 and even just S2 Part1 itself, not just in story but in like the voice acting and animation. The voice direction is a bit off, characters sound flat, and the animation just feels... weirder, if that makes sense. It's not the worst thing in the world though, it's just an unfortunate thing I happen to notice. They also changed some of the VAs I think (liek Rema's) which was a strange decision but alright ig... There's also the reusing of so many games instead of new ones but oh well... Despite all my problems with it though, I like the inclusion of the new characters (Manus and all the other Leos Valiants). The Leos are all such silly guys :]] I do wish the DV7s got more screentime and played a bigger role though, the first episode for part2 really fooled me into thinking they would lmaoo
S2 Part1 still holds up, certainly not as good as S1 but still, it's got charm! I love the setting actually, Old City is such a bright and colorful place with like all these abstract and messed up winding pathways, it's so weird and funkyy, I dig it a lot!
So pretty!! God... just like how funky the cities look with all of them being like giant floating islands, it will always be cool af to me
Ik most of my followers don't care about runningman much but in the off chance some non-rma fan sees this, look at Tree City (pic below), I love it so much
Although... sometimes it really does feel like Season 2 is where the studio decided to lean more into it being a children's show. It's a lot less "dark" compared to S1 which is a tad disappointing. Like just compare Akong's battle (where the dude literally uses a bunch of the old guys to power up his thingy 😭) compared to CG's big mech fight. Still, I liked it! I like the neat guardians (the lil pullulu spirits who guard the gate, Vivace and Ensemble twins my beloved <3).
ALSO ALSO THE IRON BEAST, I can always appreciate a big robot guy aha
That's all I really got for the ramble aha, I'd say more stuff about S2 and maybe my views on it will change overtime but as of now, I haven't even really gotten around to properly finishing it yet. I remember watching it waaayyy back but it was all in korean with zero subtitles 😭 luckily, I am in a server with people sharing english versions so I'll probably watch those when I get more free time!
I really just miss talking about this show really and I feel like I've largely outgrown the fandom in old spaces where I used to talk in (like Facebook groups and Amino lmfaoo), so it's absolutely awesome to find RMA fans over here on tumblr!

happy rant cuz this is my account i do wat i want
MY MOM TOOK ME OUT YESTERDAY FOR SOME LATE BIRTHDAY SHOPPING AND IT WAS AWESOME BEST DAY EVER
first of all everything in this area of my state is so cool,,, this is like the most popular area with the most stuff and people in it so its no surprise but i was SHOCKED how much stuff they had compared to where i live?? like there was stuff i just straight up thought you could only get online??
we went to gamestop first and there was so much cool shit but there was MINECRAFT stuff and that excited me most,, i didnt get any of it but there were plushies and a few lego sets and some really cool nightlight type things, two torch ones and one potion one and one creeper one. also there were skibidi toilet mini figurine blind bags but thats besides the point
next we went to goodwill which wasnt that shocking except it was HUGE??? and there was so much cool stuff there too, like there was this one picnic basket with a music box inside (tho the music box mightve been just a bit broken i couldnt tell BUT IT DID PLAY) and there were SO MANY PLUSHIES LIKE A WHOLE SECTION OF PLUSHIES. i got a neat little notepad thingie for one buck (which came in handy later)
next we went to books a million which i was most excited for because books a million is like the exact kind of store thats right up my alley and it did NOTT disappoint it was huge like a lot of stores here and we walked around for a WHILE until i eventually stumbled across what seemed to be a video game books section
AND DUDE. THERE WERE SO MANY MINECRAFT BOOKS. SO MANY?? WAS GEEKING OUTT they also had a bunch of warriors books nearby too but i was mostly focused on the minecraft books tho i like warrior cats too (also a bunch of pvz comics but i decided not to get any cuz i think have a link saved on my computer to just read them for free online but that made me geek out as well just so u know)
there were those novels based on minecraft (which i love so much, counting the one i got today i think i have 5. if u dont kno what im talking about see the picture below) and also all the guides and stuff and a bunch of like books for build ideas, what caught my eye most though (other than the book i ended up getting) was this HUGE book about the history of minecraft that actually seemed to contain stuff i didnt know about minecraft yet which excited me AUGHH I DIDNT GET IT CUZ IT WAS A WHOPPING 40 BUCKS THO,, this is where my notepad came in handy tho cuz i wrote down the name of it so maybe ill be able to find it online or something :3 its called "the world of minecraft: a visual history of the global phenomenon"!
at books a million i ended up getting a needoh nice cube which ive been wanting since i learned they exist theyre so cool
and, more importantly,
THE THIRD INSTALLMENT IN THE MINECRAFT THE ISLAND TRILOGY!! WHICH IS MY FAVORITE MINECRAFT BOOK SERIES!! I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THE THIRD ONE HAD COME OUT!! i knew i HAD to snag it as soon as i saw it i have both of the previous books in the series already
im planning to reread the first two books and then read this one IM SO EXCITEDD I LOVE MINECRAFT THE ISLAND UGHH ITS SO GOOD u guys should read the books if u havent. the first one is minecraft: the island, the second is minecraft: the mountain, and the third as u can see is minecraft: the village! i also reccommend the other minecraft novels (they all have like the same style of cover art but theyre not all part of the same series, but i read a couple other ones and theyre pretty good tho minecraft the island will always be my fav)
minor spoilers i guess if u wanna go in completely blind but theyre books about the survival of this guy (and later, two guys) in the world of minecraft!! the first book starts when the first guy spawns into the world and follows him learning about the world and stuff because hes not actually originally from the world of minecraft but hes also never heard of the game minecraft before so he has no clue whats going on. it is REALLY good and i think its a great example of how a concept about people being teleported into the world of minecraft like they did in the minecraft movie COULDVE in fact been done well but it was done poorly in my opinion,, honestly im so disappointed about the current state of the minecraft movie they couldve done so much more with a movie about one of the most popular games ever but they fumbled so hard, which i usually wouldnt complain about because im not a movie critic or anything but the thing is that we probably wont get another minecraft movie so this is what we're stuck with,, but thats a post for another day
today was awesome and im soso glad i managed to get this book :33 im so excited to reread the series!!!

Arizona Trip 🌵☀️ February 17-23, 2024
I’m a bit late on recapping this trip, but I wanted to document it as it was just so good. Kate @colorado-wildflowers and I planned a trip to Phoenix, AZ to escape the winter blues.
Day 1: We met up with Alex @flowers-justbecause who I had never met before. She was awesome and little did I know how supportive (literally and figuratively) she’d be. We hiked Picketpost Mountain in Superior, AZ. This hike is rated difficult and boy… was it. It wasn’t marked well and there was high elevation which I’ve dealt with pleanty of times before, but I was not prepared for the rock scrambling that ensued. Kate caught some gnarly pictures of Alex and I scaling the mountain and seeing it from her prospective was wild to me (pic #8). There was a point in the climb that I almost was in tears (a first for me), but with the help of Alex and Kate, I was able to move past that. Alex even let me use her shoe as a “rock peg” during some of the climb, and I had just met her! Overall it was such a fun day and I felt badass afterward.
Day 2: We did an awesome hike at Lost Dutchman State Park. This park was so cool with numerous rock formations. This was on Presidents’ Day, and there were many people here. This hike even had a baby waterfall, but due to the temps of the desert, we could barely see it. This hike just had a lot of variety and I loved the loop as we were able to trek downhill afterward. Much needed after the day prior’s tough hike. Afterward, I picked up a coffee mug and magnet at the gift shop. We then got vegan chorizo tacos and relaxed in the hot tub at a spa across the street from our airbnb. Our air bnb host comped us free day passes to the spa due to their condo’s tub being out of service.
Day 3: We went to Saguaro Lake and did paddle boarding! The lake was beautiful. Kate even saw a wild desert pig. I couldn’t get over being in 70s and sunshine in the middle of February. I was truly basking in all its glory. After paddle boarding, we went and saw the most gorgeous sunset at “Hole in the Rock”. Definitely a touristy area, but beautiful and worth doing, nonetheless.
Day 4: We met up with Alex again and did a small hike at White Tank Mountain Regional Park. This place was fully paved and just so well maintained. Kate and Alex did a sunrise hike at Camelback Mountain, so an “easier” hike was perfect. The views did not disappoint. We also saw a bunch of petroglyphs! After that, we had such a wholesome/cute Taylor Swift Eras tour movie night. Alex brought her bracelet-making kits, and we made friendship bracelets. I made a bracelet that said “glorious sunrise” from one of my favorite songs of hers, Happiness.
Day 5: Our last day consisted of a hike at South Mountain, which is a park 10 minutes from our airbnb! It was the perfect way to end our trip. There were some cool caves (Dead Man’s pass) and amazing views of Phoenix. We then went to the Desert Botanical Garden. I’ve never seen so many cool-looking cactus before. Speaking of which, I got hand-made cactus in their gift shop and added it to my bookshelf. I love picking up cool trinkets on my trips. I found the perfect place for it on my bookshelf.
This trip was seriously everything I wanted it to be and more. Kate did such a fabulous job planning it (she is the desert queen) and I had such a fun time spending the week with her in the sunshine blasting Bright Eyes and Taylor Swift with the windows down. Oh, it was a wonderful splash.

Writing Positivity Tag!!!
Wasn't tagged, but again saw this game and loved it.
What do you take pride in with your own writing?
Hmmm... probably the plots. Because I really like the ideas and concepts I come up with. I mean, the Bruce Wayne writes fanfic au? I'm still blown away by it.
Did you have any big inspirations from another writeblr? Who and how?
Ughhhhhh. I have so many. But the biggest ones? @cygnusdoesthings because of her, i'm still writing right now. Cuz the comments she put on My School’s Local Mafia Boss and then the recordings was what made me really, truly, well and fully realize that there were actual people who were saying all those stuff behind the comments. And also she has helped me a whole lot through so much.
@tristicorde cuz i go to her every time i feel low about my writing or about posting something and she always - always - knows the right things to say. Thats because the things she says are just facts. Not reassurances made up for the sole purpose of reassuring, but facts that reassure me. Also, her descriptive style of writing is something i strive to achieve 😭
@wakkoroni It's because of Vibes that I have as many crackfics as i do now (wips and posted). We have such a time and vibe just spouting out shitposts to each other in conversations, as well as incorrect quotes and hypotheses and hcs about the batfam, it is impossible to spend even 5 minutes with her and not get inspired to write or create something.
@sardonic-sprite because the first real fic i wrote (Ya Dun Fucked Up) was inspired by her Harbor. Her fics are the ultimate comfort, the ultimate hurt, the ultimate angst, the ultimate crack, and the ultimate family bonding. If you don't at least appreciate them, you don't appreciate anything.
That was a long answer. Anyways, moving on! (oh, special mention @uncertainwallflower cuz she helped me get past a very incredibly super-awful severe case of writer's block once)
What are you most proud of in your current WIP?
LMAO. WHICH WIP? 🤣
K the main one i'm focusing on rn is the tim gets kidnapped fic co-written with Vibey. And two things i'm most proud of in there are: a) how well mine and vibey's ideas just meld into each other b) the sheer amount of angst sprinkled throughout the fic. It's awesome. I love it.
What is your idea of a perfect day of writing?
Uhhh. I have chocolate milk or boba. I'm sitting at my desk instead of the beanbag cuz the desk is actually clear for once. I'm hyperfocusing as i write and don't notice the time pass by and don't have any pressuring due dates for school and everyone at home is sleeping and the sun is sending its rays through my window and shining on my hair making it go the cool brown color i love as i'm tip-tapping away at my computer. It happened once. I was writing the angstiest thing i had ever written at the time and was shaking. It was glorious.
What’s your big goal with writing?
That I never treat it like a chore. Ig thats more of a wish than a goal.
Then ig a goal would be to make it mean as much to someone else as it does to me. Or for people to just have a blast and let go of their worries and take a break as they read my stuff. But the goal that will never leave is to improve. I take one thing and work on it one by one until it's to my satisfaction. Currently, i'm working on describing settings.
No pressure tags: @uncertainwallflower @cygnusdoesthings @sardonic-sprite @wakkoroni @tristicorde @foursixtwonineoh-pieces-of-lego @blightwritesfic @pevensiechase

I HAVE A QUESTION
i wasn't sure how to ask without looking like a complete creeper, but something i noticed on ROTTMNT fanwork is all the dni tcest tags (which I understand because that is one of the worst ways to look at the boys). thats p common in any fandom to have one bad trope everyone is against
my q is, does tcest exist???? is the fandom really good at destroying it? i haven't seen a single fan created thing that could have even hinted at it
which is awesome!!
don't get me wrong
i'm just shocked its mentioned SO MUCH and i haven't come across it
TW tcest mention
Sadly yes it is. I actually have the tcest tag filtered, but not all tcesters even tag their shit that way. I scroll the rise tag a lot and have come across untagged tcest :(
Once I saw some really cool art in the rise tag and thought, hmm, I wonder if this artist has more cool art! Clicks on their bio, scrolls, ends up seeing tcest :( It was not tagged tcest it was tagged leotello, so now that is another tag I went and filtered before I blocked them. Some artists will post tcest and non tcest art, but frankly I don't want to support art from a tcester so if I ever reblog something from a tcester let me know so I can delete it.
I did not know that filtered tags showed up when I search the rise tag, but one post showed up the other day. I thought well hey a great opportunity to block said person I guess. It was a whole post about tcest supporters on tumblr ewwwwwww. Well, took that opportunity to go through and block as many of those as I could, there were a lot of reblogs :( Fortunately it looks like most of those blogs put they are tcest supporter blogs in their bios so they are easier to spot if you ever stumble across them in the wild.
But yeah, it exists. If you go on ao3 and search the rise tag, you need to blacklist like every.single.combination. Idk maybe there is a way to save filtered searches but I just keep my one window open all the time on my phone with my 45 million tags blocking out the tcest cause I don't want to see that.
Also, because I have seen some people get confused, on ao3, 'character a/character b' is a romantic pairing, and 'character a & character b' is a platonic relationship.
I'm not one for drama, just a block and move on if I see it. But some people do put tcest dni on their posts too. I know it can be really frustrating and gross if you posted some wholesome hugs or something and some gross person tags it as tcest. Certainly not a good feeling.
Hope that answers your question!

Gale Reviews: ML Season 5 episode 15 Intuition
Spoilers below (And we are finally all caught up so the episodes can be watched in order from 1 to 20th
-Glaciator again?
-DID HE GET BEAT BY A GIANT BELL AND FIRE CRACKERS?
-Wait is this Elation?
-Oh he is using the snake to guide his akuma. That is clever. But with that ability he should be able to win
-WAIT the lucky charm changed! OH SNAP! THE lucky charm changes to be exactly what is needed for the situation. So even with the snake miraculous... IT GETS HARD COUNTERED BY THE LADYBUG!
-I WAS RIGHT! IT IS ELATION! ... Why would he choose the ice cream man of ALL People though. Granted I love Elation so I wont complain
-So Gabriel realizes that the snake wont work against Lucky charm.
-So I really like how it is show all the OTHER ways the akuma got beaten. Implying that Gabriel was using the snake to advise his akuma in the most optimal way.
-So if it isnt lucky charm that stops him, its Chat noir's unpredicatability. Or... BAD LUCK
-So it confirmed that the user doesnt get rewinded by the time shift. MEANING. When Adrien used the rewind 25,913 times. Which means Adrien spent at most 3 months time doing that. So Adrien is 3 months older than he should be
-Gabriel has a weird ass heartbeat from cataclysm. So he has accelerated his death basically. AWESOME.
-Damn so Gabriel has only a few weeks left at most and Nathalie isnt fairing much better. Nathalie is telling him they need to think of a way that Adrien wont be left on his own when they die.
-For once, I almost pity him. Mainly cause Nathalie is there to make him TRY and change.
-Marinette is so adorkable.
-Gabriel is litterally dying right behind adrien and the boy is to engrossed by his cute girl friend to notice. Maybe he really is Gabriel's son XD
-It took him falling for him to actually hang up. I know I should feel bad... BUT its gabriel.
-Gabriel using the miraculous like a junkie.
-He is using the snake to talk with Tomoe to convince her. TRUELY he is sacrificing everything
-SHE CAN HEAR HIS WEIRD HEARTBEAT!? Well i guess the lesson is HONESTY is what is needed when you want to make an evil scheme
-You already know this is going to become f***ing horrible because they are livestreaming a space launch.
-Huh... lila isnt there. How weird.
-ADA! Adorable. Markov has a little sister AI. Cant wait to see her get akumatized
-Kim your your dumbassery is no longer charming to me.
-Gabriel jealous of Ms.Kante's healthy heart.
-She is so cool.
-Oh no! He just removed the sensors so she cant sense her.
-Monarch you evil bastard.
-Ada got depressed
-Markov in the french dub is adorable
-Monarch is preping for war right now.
-He made an ASTEROID!
-What is he doing!?
-Okay see, this is devious. I like this plan.
-Adrien saw an opportunity to be a good boy friend AND get out of class. That is Prime behavior
-Monarch knew they would split up
-He akumatizes his SECOND ai
-OH that looks so slick! its a giant robot!
-OH DAMN! he trapped her in space!
-Wait... if the miraculous gets removed.... OH S***! SHE GONNA DIE
-Oh damn!
-He timed it right this time.
-Chat noir you absolute TROLL! He used the second chance against him by grabbing his ring hand.
-Well now chat noir is gonna get stunned! Oh no!
-Monarch was too hyperfocused on Chat noir to come up with a convincing lie, Thus bugfighter learned the truth.
-Monarch didnt think this through. How many restarts is it now
-He couldnt think of a successful idea and had to give up.
-So he collapsed and Nathalie found him.
-Gabriel told Adrien he would try and spend more time with him it would be sweet if I didnt know it was a LIE
-Ladybug asking chat noir if its weird Monarch never uses Second chance... while Chat noir is like "We lucky he doesnt."
______________________________________________________________
I think if there was an episode that would make me feel sympathy for Gabriel... it would be this one. Too bad I still dont.
Its a solid episode, explaining the actual negatives of the snake miraculous in his condition. Gabriel so desperate to win that he failed to see the obvious solution.
He is so obsessed with the miraculous he is like a drug addict unable to stop his addiction.
8.5/10.
I think this is the best episode I have seen in terms of writing on the later half of season 5 so far.

👁️ 💙⚡ PINK FROM WET COMIC
⚡ 💭 ✨ MAXIM FROM FORP
THIS got. Very Long i put it under the readmore.
👁️ - How do other people perceive this oc? How close do their first assumptions come to the truth?
off the top of my head i actually dont know. i cant believe but i dont really know what The People think of Ink. i wanna say people perceive them as very blunt . straightfowards. a bit silly from this. And i'd say thats right . ink is very forwards with how theyre feeling about things at the moment and far more Act NowThink Never . "because im soooo awesome. thinking is for NERDS!"
💙 - Describe their bedroom! Is it personalized, unchanged? Messy, neat?
(grimly looks off into distance as this prompts me to think about how i wanna redraw the whole prologue so i can better show off ink's bedroom considering what little we saw in comic is Not Accurate.)
ahem. this is to say, Jesus Christ ink has a Lot of "stuff" they keep around very messy. they share a room though so the chaos is (as best as they can manage) restrained to their half of the room.
the "stuff" is mainly trinkets and whatever they've either found outside (e.g. cool rocks, sticks), made (as practice, but they're not allowed to have weapons so its usually just random stuff they thought "i could make that" and then did), or belongs to them (clothes.) (there's not really anything seperating clean clothes from dirty. they're just. all around. doesn'tmatter. shes wearing outdoor shoes inside and sleeps in her outside clothes because why put on pjamas if youre just gonna have to puton the outside clothes again TCH!) . ... tl;dr messy room 1 billion things everywhere on her half of the room.
⚡ - Does this oc have any unusual or “irrational” fears?
white women angels new found fear of knives and other sharp objects "I would never be scared of anything because i could just beat it up who cares. and also if i WAS itd be very . RATIONAL!!" - Ink Wise Words.
& for maxim "forp" . this word scares me i dont know how to feel about shortening fearcorp to that. anyways
⚡ - Does this oc have any unusual or “irrational” fears?
Honestly no Maxim is very rational and would not be scared of whatever. I mean this so nicely to them because i love them dearly but i think Maxim lacks the imagination to even have things to imagine that would be scary. I don't think they're even scared of normal things to be afraid of.
💭 - How is their mental health? Do they struggle with guilt or shame?
this feels really funny to say but maxim is actually doing pretty good. they're extremely normal . until fearcorp happens , which just makes them feel very stressed and worried about Angelina specifically because they're very scared something bad will happen to it , be it from someone else, or it does to itself . (they dont really feel worried for their own well being because... its the strangest thing, really, but they just have this sense of Knowing that they're not really in any danger. They won't die here, like this. but that they don't feel that sure about Angelina, well..)
so no in general maxim doesn't have any problems with their mental health . fearcorp exception due to being literally the most nightmare event anyone in that story has gone through. live laugh love.
✨ - Tell something that makes this oc feel happy!
learning . learning about anything at all, maxim fucking looooooooves that shit so much they're a huge nerd there is no such thing as too much knowing to them, too many details, they love the process of learning, of having their view of the world get expanded by now knowing new shit about it. feed them infinite knowledge they will be so happy...

Just gonna be a big rant of word vomit.
Please note I'm not trying to attack anyone I'm just kinda laying my feelings out.
I kinda wonder why I bother with Fandoms. I rarely act in any fandoms I'm hyperfixating over but for hazbin hotel I thought why not. But to the surprise of no one it is just like every other Fandom with backhanded comments always being tossed around. And most of it is centered around the character Alastor which I get but God it's giving me anxiety.
Like right now I'm seeing the a divide on the possibility of him having a kinship with the people of the hotel. Personally I think he does or more like did but he's going back to his roots of keeping everyone at an arms length and using them because of his defeat by the hands of Adam. But I personally think those feelings can resurface, but it's gonna be a battle to do so. But I am seeing a lot that people don't believe those feelings were ever there. He really is just a cold heartless bastard who has a God complex and is just mad he lost and that's it. And I feel like that is also correct. But I don't think that makes my hypothesis or how I feel I read the scene wrong? But I've seen people say "if you think this certain way then you are show illiterate and you don't know his character and IM the only one who understands him!" Like....OK? That's the beautiful thing about any piece of literature characters and scenes, anyone can interpret it in so may different ways and it doesn't make anyone wrong. So can't we all just have our own interpretation and just gush over it instead of scoffing at people who didn't see the same thing you saw?
As for shipping, that's a whole monster within its own. I personally don't think anyone is entitled to dictate what someone can and can't do with pixilated characters. I honestly very much understand that Alastor is a big deal considering he's aroace, and that doesn't get enough media representation. And I respect the hell out of it. But I'll also in the same breath say I'm a shipper. I love staticradio because I'm a sucker for enemies to lovers trope. In canon, I want Alastor to keep being the beautiful dick head he is that just has gossip tea parties with Rosie and just doesn't have those romantic or sexual urges. In fanon, though, anyone can really do what they want. I think as long as there aren't death threats or literal force being used to make the creator of the show force Alastor into a relationship I don't think theirs anything in fanon that should be taken seriously when canon is right there glaring everyone in the face. If people wanna keep the "relationship" one-sided? Awesome. If they want Alastor to smooch someone? Cool. They want him to rawdog or get raw dogged by someone. Hey, power to ya, just put it in the tags so people can steer clear of it if they don't wanna see that. I see many people saying it's erasure, but I just don't see how it's erasure when it's still there in canon. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, can erase Alastor, who is a sassy aroace king. I can't say I don't understand the mentality, though. As a bisexual woman myself, I see fanfics where bi characters are labeled straight or lesbian/gay completely, ignoring that who they date doesn't make them, neither straight nor gay. It does sting and leave a bad taste but again they can say that, they can write all they want and if it's cathartic for them then ok more power to em because at the end of the day that character is still bisexual they didn't erase it. Usually, people are good at tagging, so if they do make them one way or the other, i dont read or look at the art. It's very easy to scroll down. Sometimes i see it repedidly, but that's what blacklisting is for too. There are many countermeasures. Plus, a lot of things are all in good fun or just canon divergence. People can be creative and play with different ideas. "What if a character was like that!?" "What if they do this!?" "What if this happened instead, and it changed their whole character!?" That's what's supposed to be fun about being in fandoms. Everyone is entitled to feel how they feel. You're allowed to not like something. But I don't think you're allowed to make other people feel like shit because they go against canon, or more precisely, against your views. I genuinely don't think anyone ever means disrespect. All they want to do is have fun and create along with like-minded individuals. You're allowed to not like something. Hell, I don't like Vox and Val together, and that shits canon, but that just means I ain't gonna actively seek it out. (I personally ship Valentino with a bug zapper.)
All in all I just want everyone to feel safe and just have fun because I've just seen so many people to scared, me included, to do anything in the Fandom in fear of getting attacked and that's mostly what's been really eating away at me. But at the end of the day, this IS the internet, and discourse is basically its bread and butter.
Like I said though this is mostly just a vent post but I wouldn't mind to hear others thoughts if you're willing. I know I just probably talked out of my ass for forever. At the end of the day we are just all apart of this silly little Fandom of silly little demon people and we should all just be having fun look at what we like, write/draw what we want. It's exhausting spending energy like anger and malice, we should just focus on the things that matter to us and the things we like and just enjoy it for however long the hyperfixation lasts. Nobody is wrong. Nobody is right. we are just creators or people on here to just escape for a little bit and connect with a show or characters that resonate with us.
Ok for reals this time peace ✌️ if you made it this far and actually read everything I had to say thank you, you're a trooper. I hope I didn't offend anyone since that was not my intent. I just had a lot of feelings and I'd rather we all get along then tear each other apart.
#hazbin hotel#rant#discourse#fandom#shipping#chatacter analysis#thought about just keeping this like a journal and not post it but fuck it

Sakamoto Days 8: Never Too Much of A Good Thing
It's the Sakamoto Days that we all know and love, there's not some hidden world to it. It's straight and to the point, and does what it loves to do best: action with a side of humor. Doesn't mean there's not some cool as hell stuff to share or talk about though. If there wasn't, I wouldn't be here.
Sakamoto Days does its best work when it's on edge, when it's finding new ways to reinvent the wheel and breath life into the slightest hint of monotony. Onto the next stage of the exam and it's just people we've already seen from on the plane? Let's add some new ones!
It's really some great awareness. We've already seen most of these people fight, so the need to shake it up and bring in new styles and personalities was apparent, and Suzuki sensei grasped that immediately and delivered on it.
Similarly, putting Sakamoto and Shin on separate teams is a great idea, and the groupings of them too. Placing each of them with the member they were with on the plane is a fun little nod to the instructors paying attention to chemistry. And to add even more to it, they add one of the recommended exam takers to Shin's team, just to mix it up that little bit more.
Anyways, the "exam" (really a violent game) starts, and we plunge into it headfirst.... after a bit of comedy from Sakamoto. The reset on the tension is nice in giving Suzuki sensei a blank slate, and they waste no time carving into it.
Suzuki's knack for creative combat and weaponry really is incredible. They always have super unique and interesting weapons, and they're always used to their maximum capacity off the bat. A combat shotgun with an axe attached to it? Sign me up!
And of course, Suzuki never misses a moment with the action. Perhaps contrary to popular believe, I'm a huge fan of the (sparing) use of these framed pages for spreads. Something about containing the action within them gives it a different vibe, like you're just absolutely honed in on what's in front of you. And it works perfectly with Toramaru here. The posing really sells the weight of their movement, and how it is that they move. The twisted torso with the heavy front planted foot, alongside the fluttering skirt and low angle. It all tells a story of just how aggressive her swing through the trees (and exam takers). That, and well, the shading and detail on the skirt is just super well done.
Of course, the new characters can't just be cool, they've got to be weird too. I love Suzuki's approach in that sense. There's not a single outright "cool" or "badass" character. All of them have flaws, drawbacks, idiosyncrasies that stop them from reaching that status. And it's a great choice from Suzuki as baking that in to all of their characters, humor and comedy never feel out of place or odd, even when it directly follows the awesome action.
You really have to give it to Suzuki for coming up with so many different styles and approaches to combat though. Every character has a unique ace up their sleeve, whether it's an intrinsic trait, a unique weapon or tool, or a special ability. Akira turns the key on the ignition of her assassin side and shows us just what it was that Sakamoto saw earlier in them.
And doing so, opens up a new story for them to explore, which I think is a great thing. Sakamoto Days does best with 2 things: what's in front of it, and what's in its peripheral vision. The whole thing about Slur and X and them is on the horizon. Their current goal is making through the exam, and now they have the side story of finding Akira's aunt. It's a great understanding of what's been working so well for Sakamoto. It has a goal, but that goal is so that Suzuki can pull off cool stuff with the story. It's the finish line that continually gets further and further away. If you want a comparison, the story is at it's best when it's like a tree. It has a strong trunk, and continues to grow upwards to reach that finishing point, but it's incomplete or scarce if it's not branching out.
Anyways, back to combat with Toramaru, the Sakamoto Otaku. Suzuki's posing and eye for action really is just something I can't get enough of.
But the focus here isn't really the combat, it's Sakamoto. And I really do like it. I enjoy the commitment to the side of Sakamoto that exists on the other side of this assassination plot and Slur and X and all of it. He's given up his life of violence, and has a family at home. It's an easy thing to forget since, you know, this whole series is about action and assassins, but I like the acknowledgement of who Sakamoto really is.
So anyways, Shin ticks off the Sakamoto Superfan, and a fight ensues. Pretty standard fare with cool action, awesome posing, and a sprinkling of the shounen tropes in regards to powers and ability. It's a good fight, but nothing I feel the need to write home about... except for the end of it.
The third recommended student appears, and puts the whole island on red alert. Of course, it's not just some unhinged random that appears, but Gaku making an appearance via VR. Such an interesting idea, and I love how they use it. It imposes limitations and a handicap on him, thanks to the lag with the VR setup + limited movement space, and adds a handicap thanks to the physical limitations of the person on the other end. It's a great idea that puts team Sakamoto into combat against X and his organization to perfectly set up the scale and power gap between them.
And just as Gaku takes his mirror image past their limits, the volume comes to an end. I've said it quite a few times with these recent volumes thanks to the concerns of Volume 6, but Sakamoto and Suzuki are at their best when the carrot is dangled in front of their face. Looking too far into the horizon things get blurry, but a few yards or meters ahead? Clear as day, which makes it incredibly easy for Suzuki to deliver on. Looking at the characters and action right in front of them is where the best ideas come from, where the coolest fights and interactions appear, and where the interesting and creative side stories and personalities stem from. Sakamoto Days is a story that I almost don't want to see the end for, because it does so well with its never-ending journey towards it.

What are some of your favorite movies and why? I'm in the mood for some ranting about cool stuff :)
OKAY ALRIGHT LET'S DO THIS (in no particular order)
JK ROWLING IS STINKY 🤬🤬🤬
But I love Remus Lupin. And I love the aesthetic of this movie. And I LOVE werewolves. Professor Lupin is one of THE BEST characters in the entire Harry Potter franchise and I just think he deserves more hype and he's really cool and idk I get nostalgic about this movie and it's definitely a comfort movie for me.
Just this entire franchise. And the Hobbit movies. My Dad has always been a BIG Tolkien fan so I was raised on LOTR and went to see the Hobbit movies in theatres when they first came out (I saw the first one 3 or 4 times, I was OBSESSED). BEFORE ANYONE COMES AT ME I'VE ALSO READ THE BOOKS I READ THEM IN GRADE 3 I KNOW THE LORE DW 🙏. I'm a sucker for fantasy (hence my current dnd obsession lol) and the world of these films is just so immersive and breathtakingly beautiful that I can't help but consider them my favourites, even if it's been years since I've watched them cohesively. ALSO THE MUSIC IS SO GOOD. I'LL LISTEN TO THE LOTR SOUNDTRACK ANY DAY.
Again. THE MUSIC.
Andrew Garfield was SO GREAT in this, and I personally connected to it a lot as a songwriter myself. That being said, this movie makes me SOB EVERY SINGLE TIME. Jonathan Larson was truly a talent and it's such a shame his life ended as early as it did. So glad he lives on through his art, and so glad that he was able to make such a huge impact on people with what he created. (Also fun fact I'm going to see Rent in a few weeks)
IT STARTED AS A BIT IT WAS A JOKE
Word of advice: if you ever think to yourself, "Hey. It'd be silly if I kept suggesting to watch that one Adam Sandler Halloween movie whenever my family asks for movie suggestions despite the fact that it isn't Halloween anymore and it's not that good of a movie- DON'T. DO IT.
Hubie Halloween is my comfort movie now. I don't rewatch movies and tv shows a lot, but I've seen this one probably 5 times in the last few months. It's just a silly little Halloween movie, but I sort of started to appreciate it more after realizing "HEY THAT GUY IN THE TIN MAN COSTUME IS WILL BYERS!!!" Although most of the media I find myself drawn to is more complex and explores the intricacies of how humanity functions, this movie somehow grew on me. My family references it constantly, and every time we play Jackbox games, half of the quiplash answers are just "Hubie". Overall I just think this movie is funny, quirky, subverts expectations in silly ways, and is a nice lighthearted watch compared to my other favourites.
My final movie on this list isn't ACTUALLY a movie but I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT IT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND
MIDNIGHT MASS IS MY FAVOURITE SHOW. EVER. OF ALL TIME.
The music??? Immaculate. THE ACTING??? Immaculate. THE WRITING??? Immaculate (although there are a lot of monologues which can be a lot for some people, but as a theatre kid I REALLY appreciated them).
I've rewatched this show 2 1/2 times now and I'm just so in love with it. It's horror, but it doesn't rely on cheap jumpscares and many of the cheaper tactics some horror movies use nowadays. It's way more focused on its ensemble cast and developing good characters and storytelling. Sure, it starts off a bit slow, but the emotional payoff in the final two episodes is SO. WORTH IT.
Hamish Linklater as Father Paul is just... Awesome. RAHUL KOHLI AS HASSAN??? SO GOOD??? THIS ENTIRE CAST IS SO TALENTED and the way they play their characters is so raw and compelling and human.
Ryan Bergara was so right when he listed Father Paul as a poor little meow meow on Tumblr Top 5 HE SO IS AND I LOVE HIM FOR THAT. Anyway if you wanna see a new take on some classic horror tropes, commentary on the meaning of life and what happens after it, and some really good acting just... Please watch this. It definitely destroys your soul and makes you think but it's so good and the aesthetic is just... Mmmm.
Anyway Boog rant over, THANK YOU FOR THE ASK I LOVE RANTING SORRY THIS IS LONG!!!

Vampires Will Never Hurt You - MCR Interviews
Anemic Magazine Interview - 7/1/02
Paragraph 24
Interviewer: Some rumours I have heard is that you guys like bats. What's the fascination with them? Is it the Will Haven song BATS, or you just like the species? Gerard: Haha...the whole bat thing came about at an early practice when Mikey joined and we finally gelled. Our energy just came together and a giant heavy metal vortex opened up and out flew a swarm of bats. We all saw it. It was like an awakening. After that we accepted bats into our lives. It was also while we were playing "Vampires Will Never Hurt You" so it probably had a lot to do with that.

89.5 WSOU FM Interview - 7/11/02

Ray: (After being asked his favorite song to play live (20:20)) As far as live, Vampires is always incredible Interviewer: Right Ray: ‘Cause it’s just so fun to play ... Frank: I like Knives a lot to play, and...Vampires is always fun ... Gerard: My favorite to record, um, that’s a tough one. Vampires, even though it was done before the whole album. I was-- that was awesome because there like was this huge storm that rolled in when we recorded it, and it was so cool. And everybody thought like I (I’ll?) let some bats go and stuff, and that was really cool ... Interviewer: But let’s talk about Vampires, and then we’re gonna play it for everybody Gerard: Okay, um, it’s obviously this metaphor for something that, you know, had happened, not just to me but like a lot of people in real life. It’s kinda-- I don’t know if I should give away too much ‘cause a lot of people take away their own things from it, you know, but um Interviewer: Right. That’s what’s also good, I think, about the record, that you can interpret it your own way, apply it to your own life, and it may not mean the same thing but... Gerard: Yeah, I mean like I get emails from people saying like how the song helped them get through a situation that-- and like what their meaning of the song meant to them and it helped them, and I thought that was awesome, so I don’t want ever, on this one especially, to divulge too much of what it’s about ‘cause it’s pretty personal, but (laughs)... but um, it’s like, you know, it’s about vampires. (Everyone laughs)
/
Sucker Newspaper Interview + src - July 2002
Paragraph 2
Interviewer: You got Geoff [Rickly] of Thursday to produce your record. How did you hook up with him? Gerard: Mikey and I met the talented Mr. Rickly when Thursday first signed to Eyeball Records. We played him the rough of “Vampires Will Never Hurt You” which he liked so much we asked him to produce the record. He accepted.
/
Dot Alt Interview - 8/30/02
Paragraph 7
Gerard: We take a semi-autobiographical approach to things, with some roots in fiction. We try and connect with people in a more abstract way, to get more meaning out of what we’re trying to say. Interviewer: Like using cult imagery on Vampires Will Never Hurt You? Gerard: Yeah, obviously we use vampires as a metaphor for something else, something deeper than just the supernatural. But there's just something about the bloodsucking walking dead, that can say so much to people. There are really so many people trying to get control over you on a daily basis and steal your soul in some way, take a part of you...
/
Noise Theory Interview - 11/13/02
Page 1, paragraph 6
Interviewer: ‘Vampires Will Never Hurt You' is a truly amazing song. How did it come about? Ray: The writing process for most of our songs starts out with one band member having an idea of what the song should be, usually its already written in his head and its just a matter of getting it out. Gerard had this idea for a 6 minute song that had multiple changes, guitar breaks, a slow breakdown at the end, pretty much everything was in his head before we ever played a single note. The song was still tough to write though, because we were having trouble writing the chorus for it. Matt really helped on this one because what he plays on drums can sometimes just totally inspire you to try something different, and that’s what happened with this one. Somewhere there Is a version of us playing Vampires with the old chorus...it sucks. No pun intended. As for the lyrics, I know Gerard was inspired by a trip to a seedy bar. I'm not sure what the hell was going on there, but it made for a great song!
Page 2, paragraph 1
Interviewer: MCR’s music can be pretty varied, do you have a particular favorite song that you like to play live?
Ray: Hmm...live I think my favorite songs to play are Our Lady of Sorrows, just because of the pure energy in the song, and Vampires, because it has quiet parts that gradually explode and it’s fun to see kids whig out when that happens.
/
Radio Takeover Interview - 6/17/03
Paragraph 9
Interviewer: Well, is there even a message or is it the kind of message that people realize for themselves, a subjective one? Frank: It's both. Gerard: There are some things that we say directly to people and there are the things that we want people to get out of it. When you get the message out of something yourself. Matt: It means a lot more. Gerard: It's more rewarding. A song like "Vampires" is probably our most metaphorical song. Matt: It's not about vampires at all. Gerard: Because vampires don't exist and I'm not even going to fucking talk about them anymore. You get what you want out of that though. Frank: It is about something though. Gerard: Yeah, it is about something that happened to me and we have a lot of different messages and hopefully we have a lot of time to tell them all. Frank: I think the best line in that song, is "I'll never let them hurt you." That is the best line. Gerard: That is the most important line in the song because that is the line where nothing else matters in the set. When I say that line, sometimes I am completely spent and it's funny because it's a breather line and it means the most.
Paragraph 11
Interviewer: The lyric, "It's hard to say I'm shakin’ by the choices that I make, I choose this life I've taken." What is the hardest choice you've had to make to get to this life that you've taken? Gerard: Sacrificing being with our loved ones and our family and all the people who have made us who we are. Sacrificing spending time with them. Frank: when we were in Jersey our friends and our family were the only people who gave a shit about anything that we did and what we were putting out and no one else cared, and we have made a choice to get out to as many people as we can and to meet the people we reach. It's hard for us and it will continue to be hard for us for as long as we do this to be away from those people though.
/
89.5 WSOU FM Interview - 7/3/03
21:58-23:10
youtube
Interviewer: (Unintelligible) wants to know what Vampires Will Never Hurt You is about. Gerard: (Frank laughing in the background) Vampires Will Never Hurt You, obviously vampires don’t exist, it’s obviously metaphorical, just so everybody knows I don’t believe in vampires. (More laughter in the background) It’s about basically seedy bars and seedy people you meet at those seedy bars that will have nothing better to do than keep you from growing up and/or being responsible and not drinking and not being an alcoholic and just sucking you into their world. (Unintelligible comment from Mikey that Gerard repeats) No, it’s about-- it’s about that. It’s, you know-- there’s no such thing as vampires, and I know that (band laughs). Ray: You just broke a lot of kids’ hearts. Frank: Whoa, whoa, whoa. What about glampires? Gerard: And, uh-- and you should know that too! Wise up dude! (band laughs) Like it’s just movies, c’mon, and-- seriously it’s a metaphor for other things in life, be it drug addiction, heroin addiction, stuff like that, and being-- Matt: (Interrupts) Coca cola Gerard: Coca cola and being involved with really crappy people, you know what I mean, people that just have nothing better to do with their lives than drink with you and drag you down with them.
/
Equal Music Interview - 10/31/03
Paragraph 16
Interviewer: There are a couple theories circulating about your repeated mention of vampires in your lyrics. Can you clear that up? Gerard: It’s a metaphor for being in your twenties and getting sucked into that singles alcoholic nightlife culture, ya know what I mean? It’s interesting, because you’ll find that a lot of bands use the supernatural as a gimmick, and that’s really all it is, it’s just like horror punk, and that’s all it is. We’re not really into vampires. I like to wear black, but...

Alternative Press #197 - 9/17-20/04
Page 3, paragraph 10 to page 4, paragraph 1
“As soon as it came time for Gerard to do vocals for ‘Vampires [Will Never Hurt You],’ this insane storm hit,” Saavedra remembers. “Gerard was getting very frustrated because it was his first time recording, decently, in an actual studio. He was overwhelmed and he was over-thinking it... So I punched him in the face!” The blow loosened Gerard’s jaw and somehow gave him the motivation to take to the mic and rip a bite out of the track.
Gerard laughs triumphantly, “I remember it hurting a lot, and going, ‘All right, I hope I can do this.’ I remember singing, and something clicked. I remember Alex’s face was just amazed that the song was finally coming together. I think it was the second take that we ended up using.”

Blaring Out Show Interview - 9/28/04
2:26-3:17
youtube
Gerard: The coolest thing that ever happened was the first time it ever happened was the head of our street team, Carlos, who we love very very much-- he was really our first fan. He was our first big fan, and he IM’ed me one day on the computer, and I didn’t know who he was, and he said that Vampires Will Never Hurt You off the first record, to him, it was helping him get through high school because he saw all these people that were, you know, kind of, I guess, not so much jocks and stuff, but just people that were picking on him and stuff. And it actually kind of scared me when I first heard it, and I was like ‘Oh man, people are going to start thinking people are vampires, and they’re gonna to try to shoot them with shotguns,’ and I got kinda scared about all of that, but you know, it ended up-- it just helped him get through a really bad relationship where a girl was jerking him around in high school and all the people had picked on him, so, you know, that-- obviously, the song is about being an alcoholic, but, not to him, you know, and that’s the coolest part.

Circus Magazine Interview - July 2005
Page 2, paragraph 8 to page 3, paragraph 1
Gerard: We were in the studio 3 months later to record our debut album ‘I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love’ for the New Jersey label Eyeball and we were trying to record the song Vampires - all of a sudden I was frozen, I simply couldn’t sing, I couldn’t talk, I just stood there like a piece of wood, I know I was terribly nervous and there was thunderstorm brewing outside, all I could hear was the sound of the rain and the thunder, I really thought that’s it, I’m never going to make it, then the label boss Alex walked up to me and he just hit me right in the face. I snapped out of my state and everything worked out fine!

Zero Magazine Interview - December 2005
Page 5, paragraph 10 and page 7, paragraph 1
Gerard: There’s always a fear that people might overlook “I Brought You My Bullets...” Occasionally, when we play on this tour, with the exception of Vampires and Our Lady of Sorrows, we play 4 or 5 old songs, usually when the venue’s quietest - but then again, when we play the UK, those are some of their favorite songs. The UK was very accepting of Bullets, whereas America didn’t know about it. They like hearing it, they’re just not familiar with it.

Kerrang #1142 - 1/17/07
Page 10, paragraph 5 to paragraph 7
“I was about to sing ‘Vampires Will Never Hurt You’,” remembers Gerard. “There was a storm forming outside, my teeth were hurting, and then Alex came up to me, gave me a hug, then punched me right in the mouth. I think he did the right thing, to tell you the truth. It was an act of love, but I was fucking riled. I went up to the mic and nailed it first time. We listened to it in the van ride back. It was just the loudest, gnarliest, darkest, most melodic song I’d ever heard. It was fucking amazing.”
Forcing himself into character is a trick Gerard has repeated ever since.
“It’s almost like method acting,” he says. “‘Vampires’ was definitely the first instance of that.”

Kerrang #1143 - 1/17/07
Paragraph 5
Gerard: Again, it had a visual quality. That song [Headfirst for Halos] and ‘Vampires Will Never Hurt You’ both gave us a real sense of identity. They brought in the entire gothic thing. It was those songs that made people think we were a vampire band!

BBC Radio 1 Audio Documentary - 2007

Gerard: We went to do ‘Vampires,’ and it was, still to this day, like, the most magical, incredible recording experience I’ve ever been a part of next to, really, making The Black Parade. But nothing beats your first time on a mic. (‘Vampires’ plays for a few seconds) Gerard: There was an energy. It wasn’t that I was nervous or anything, there was just this energy. There was this storm building outside, everybody had tracked the instruments, and it was sounding incredible, you know. (’Vampires’ continues to play) Gerard: And it was very inspired, and I was outside with Alex [Saavedra], and he just clocked me in the face. Alex: He was getting really hard on himself, and you could tell, and he was really losing it, so...I helped him focus, and I punched him.

MCR Forum Interview - 10/30/10
Paragraph 4
Ray: And after we wrote Na Na Na we really felt ‘wow the sky is the limit, we can try so many different things!’ So the song that we ended up writing after Na Na Na was Vampire Money, which has the same energy. And then the song after that that we wrote was Planetary (GO), which has a different energy, but it’s something that we’ve always tried to write, but we never did one hundred percent. If you look at a song like Vampires Will Never Hurt You, it has a little bit of that. It doesn’t have the electronics in it, but it easily could.

Frank: I remember being a fly on the wall when they finished ‘Vampires Will Never Hurt You,’ and that was the first song that you guys really recorded, and it was like...you guys were so excited about it. You were like “Oh my god, this-- you gotta hear this song!” And they would play it over and over again, and then, after they played it, they would all high-five each other. (Crowd and interviewer laugh) And they were like “That was awesome!” And I’m just like “Yeah, that was really cool.” ... Frank: So ‘Vampires Will Never Hurt You’ was the first song that was actually really really recorded. They did like 3 songs in an attic, but like, they went to a studio to record ‘Vampires.’ And as soon as you guys recorded it, I think-- it got played on pirate radio, which is like Seton Hall in New Jersey, and then we put it up on the internet. And, within a month after that, there was A&R people from major labels calling the studio, which was-- it was ridiculous ‘cause like, at that point, Thursday had a lot of heat on them, which is another amazing band from Jersey, Midtown was getting signed, Saves the Day was getting signed, and so there was this crazy thing going on, and, you know, My Chem was kind of getting pushed into this circle. And there was a lot of attention, and we were playing shows and kids were going off. It was immediate though, like, in that circle-- I wasn’t even in the band at that point, but when you heard that song, you knew something amazing was going to happen. I don’t know how to pinpoint it, but, like, there was something really special.

yeah yall are right puss in boots the last wish FUCKS
i almost wrote the last fish, which should def have been a joke in the movie
i havent regularly watched movies for a while, i had completely forgotten how just. fun dreamworks is, theres puns and jokes happening all the time and its just. delightful and nice and often stupid but still funny, i loved it a lot, and needed it after. A Day.
there were so many stories happening but all of them got resolved and it was great and adorable and i teared up multiple times, like w realizing the bears and goldie Were the family they were looking for, and that Perrito had what he wanted the whole time, and how kitty and puss ended up getting it too... also dreamworks always suprises me with the epic action scenes like...
speaking of that. yes ofc i saw the death wolf everywhere and was a little interested bc of that and hell yes he's hot and scary and cool i loved his inclusion
most of all i LOVED all the fairy tale references! like obviously there were gonna be a lot but whenever i recognized something it made me soooooo happy like you wouldnt believe, i grew up with fairytales and myths and stories (like most of us obvs) and i fell in love with all my books and. its just so nice to get the little references and tropes that have come from them :D
the first 20 minutes were so wild, idk why i guess ive watched too many slower movies or series so the immediate action and "end" and change was just WHUH WHAT IS HAPPENING EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING DAMN I LOVE IT but what i noticed immediately of course was the ANIMATION and MUSIC DESIGN like DAAAAAAAAAAMN!!! absolutely gorgeous and stylized in the cool way and sound cues and music giving SO much to every scene and. aaaahhhhhhhh art of film... i get why people do this shit its awesome
the place i watched from had subtitles(which i kinda need at this point, audio processing troubles grr) but literally every SINGLE spanish word they transcribed as [speaking spanish] like. I KNOW SHE SAID SI EVEN I KNOW THAT, which wasnt like too bad, most of the words used i could understand from context and just. them being used often in other english media w spanish in it, but Boi. i need to find if someone has compiled the language used to see if i missed anything i didnt recognize as Symbolic or Significant... ik there was smth when death left the OVAL/CATEYE OF FIREEEE like la muertos/muerte which means death ik but idk if there was smth else there i missed in the sentence construction/meaning bc i didnt quite hear it/understand it
why did this turn into a wholeass review. anyways watch puss in boots the last wish is fucking awesome and fun (also watch the first movie i remember liking it)
#puss in boots#puss in boots the last wish#puss in boots 2#might as well put it in the tags since it got kinda long#review#???#sure#bear.txt#my posts#i dont remember the tag fuck#Puss in boots spoilers#Buss in boots the last wish spoilers
