Raine reached peak badass in the finale and you can pry that out of my cold dead hands. Not that anybody will even try, anyway.

They were reaching unprecedented levels and it was legendary! From fighting the possession to stomping Belos for the quick, painful death, Raine did some crazy shit! And their body wasn’t even in the best condition, either!

Raine:

Suffered through the Draining Spell, pulled off Eda’s arm to save her, got turned into a puppet supposedly after having just woken up from the DS, spent Titan knows how long just standing motionless in the Archive House and relying on Eda’s visits to stay sane, got possessed by Belos, managed to undo the Collector’s puppet spell, and fought off Belos when fighting for control and definitely dislocated a limb or two.

And yet, after all that, they STILL had the energy, strength, fury and sheer fucking will to follow Belos up the stairs to the Titan’s heart AND FIGHT THE BASTARD ONE ON ONE! AND THEY NEARLY SUCCEEDED IN STOPPING HIM! RAINE HAD BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH SHIT ALREADY AND WAS WILLING TO DO ANYTHING TO MALE SURE NO ONE GOT HURT AND THAT BELOS GOT WHAT HE DESERVED!

Raine finally got the opportunity to face him, to fight him alongside the love of their life, their future son, and their technical future daughter who was then powered by the freaking Titan. They got to deliver the final blow, one of the final stomps, on their worst and most hated enemy. Raine sacrificed everything to make sure that Belos and the coven system were eradicated. To make sure that wild magic got to thrive.

And I cannot think of a more badass character than Raine Whispers. In fact, I think Eda said it best:

vi is so fucking fascinating to me, I am studying her like a bug in a jar

she was a CHILD putting on her father's gauntlets in spite of the fear gathered in her little body, in spite of just witnessing someone she's known all her life die in a HORRIFIC way (benzo), still she rises, still she says I HAVE TO DO THIS still she takes on men three times her size and fucks them up so bad that silco has to send his shimmered up fucked up monster to try to stop her and STILL she persists, indifferent to the worst happening because she’s survived the worst already. furious and unstoppable and determined to do whatever she has to survive and ensure those she loves survive, no matter the cost.

vi under all that debris, bruised, bleeding, screaming, watching her family die, staring at the monkey head in shock and crying because this can't be happening, they were so close...

sobbing in pain until her father saves her just to watch helpless as he dies protecting her. they were so SO CLOSE to surviving, so close to escaping and everything gets ripped away in a second

vi trapped in that prison cell for years and years on end with the ghosts of her family and her guilt for company, drowning in guilt, wondering if her sister's still alive, no doubt thinking about how she LET her slip right through her fingers

the last thing vander said to her was "take care of powder"

she's let the man who's her FATHER and loves more than anything down.

"whatever happens is on you" / "protect the family" / "take care of powder" .... but she can't, not anymore, she's fucked it up and let everyone down (re "I should have been there for you, for everyone") all she can do is sit in that shitty prison cell, on that freezing floor, hungry, bloody, counting the hours until she can somehow rescue powder

Vi is piercings and tats that no doubt got infected, she's a child becoming a woman too fast, she is a danger-zone high-risk disaster area and won't back down, won't give up.

Vi is soft!! self-sacrificing, protective, supportive. ("You wanna talk about today?", "We've all had bad days, but we learn, and we stick together") brave, SMART, witty. she's got a tongue sharp as her fists and a barbed, delicious sense of humour. she gives people nicknames (cupcake, pow pow, pretty boy) and fights with everything that she's got to protect what she loves!!!! she is her father's daughter!!!

she is idealistic and expects the world to see her reason, look at things through her eyes and wanna make a change ( "This is how things are, how they've always been. I was so stupid to think it could change. / "oil and water that's all there is" )

and yes! vi is not flawless. she's obsessive (re sevika. to her eyes she is the last thing standing between her and silco/getting to silco and saving jinx) and complicated, morally ambivalent because she makes mistakes, flies off the handle like a comet crashing through everything in her way, makes reckless choices because she has to. she is selfish when it comes to jinx and would do anything to keep her safe.

I need a character to find themselves in a situation where they have to go undercover and pretend to be a traitor, but they don't have time to tell anyone their plan. And as the plot progresses, as they're acting as a double-agent - fighting their friends, handing over strategic information to the villains, occasionally threatening ones they love - they are just destroyed by guilt.

Meanwhile, back at home, literally everyone knows they're a double-agent, because the idea that this character has actually gone over to the dark side is just so utterly absurd. Like, no one believes it for a single second, everyone clocks what's going on immediately. They're all just playing along.

Like, externally, they're all, "Oh no! My friend who betrayed me has a knife to my throat and is threatening to kill me! Whatever shall I do!" And internally, it's all, "Lol, you would never, I'd literally be more in danger cuddling with a kitten. But I'll play along."

And so the not-actually-a-traitor is just wracked with guilt, and is grieving the relationships they think they've had to destroy, while everyone else is cheering them on for their heroism and desperately waiting for when they can come home safe.

Totk Zelda is a scientist and engineer in her own right and this is a hill I’m willing to die on.

Now, with that said, I think it would be really cool if she made a gun. Totk gave us zonai cannons, so it’s possible that engineer/scientist Zelda would find a way to miniaturize them and make them handheld.

And imagine if post botw she had made a gun with sheikah tech. Totk could’ve started very differently:

Link, pointing at dehydrated Ganon: Hey Zelda, what’s that over there?

Zelda: Oh shit, basement must be haunted.

Link: Huh??

Zelda, ready to field test her new gun: Basement’s haunted.

Ganon doesn’t stand a chance. My girl will shoot his dehydrated ass point blank, because Zelda is awesome and badass like that.

Siobhan / adaine: as a high elf I have proficiency in swords and daggers, and I see if there are any weapons to grab?

I cannot explain how good it feels for adaines character to be proficient in blades. It fits her so well. Thank god she later gets her sword, I love a wizard with a sword and specifically ADAINE with a sword, give adaine a gun and a sword please, and also I hope one day adaine carries a tiny dagger on her person at all times because a little knife is the best effect a girl can have

It is amazing to me that the show has a character who:

Explicitly says “my father forced me to kill and I was good at it, but I hated it”;

Makes multiple efforts to walk away from a fight where his opponent is doing the absolute most to provoke him and, upon finally snapping, handily beats him;

Stabs a dude with a pair of scissors in self-defense and immediately looks horrified at himself; and

Can stomach all kinds of gross and scary shit unless it involves harm coming to his little brother, whom he obviously has a lot of baggage about protecting.

And a not-insignificant number of people are like “his neurosis is that he feels bad about not being a fighter or a badass.”
