Eddie Diaz killed his first werewolf one month before his twelfth birthday and knew that it was wrong. It was too soon. It was customary that a Diaz would make their first kill at 15, but his father sat him down and told him that he needed to be a man now. So he did it.

What he didn't know was that his mother was pregnant with his sister. What he didn't know was that his father would be home less and less. What he didn't know was that the tension between the werewolves and the hunters was getting worse and worse. Or maybe he did and just didn't want to.

What did know was that he needed to be a man, so he shoved a wooden stake into a woman's heart, saw the life drain out of her eyes, and he knew that it was wrong.

Where in the world were Mulder and Scully?

I'm sure someone else has already made this list, but I've decided to keep track of how many U.S. states (and DC) (and Puerto Rico) Mulder and Scully investigate an incident in. Not counting other locations where part of the incident happens but Mulder and Scully never go to (like England in 1:12). (edited 3/27/24 after watching 2:19) This started as a list of US states and I continue to be interested in counting US states and territories, but the time has come to set up the list for other locations as well. I want to bring your attention to Jana's (@janaabunaje) campaign because her family is falling apart due to the genocidal war in Gaza. The extremely high cost of basic necessities in Gaza is causing a huge financial strain on the family. This not only means a lack of food and water for the children, but it is also driving her parents apart. Jana's father wants to divorce her mother due to the lack of money. Jana is really worried about her family, she is really worried about how they are going to survive, and Jana is only 11 years old.

Jana also has 2 little brothers ages only 9 and 5. Their father was injured in a bombing and thus can no longer work. Now there are no jobs for both their mother and their father. There is no money for them to buy food, there is no money for them to buy clothes and blankets to protect them from the cold and the rain. They are now living in a shabby tent that does not shield them from the weather well.

Imagine living through a literal genocide, with bombs falling all around you, no food, no water, and now your parents are going through a divorce! Jana and her brothers are so young, I don't know how they are dealing with this. Please help them! Every little bit helps!

FAQ and Rules

What sort of content can I create for this event?

You can create whatever you want (fic, art, edits, etc). Any fandom is allowed, as well as OC stuff. NSFW is allowed, but please tag your content accordingly! The only thing not allowed is AI-generated content.

Do I need to make 31 things to participate?

Oh heavens no! You can make as much or as little content as you like, skip days when desired, or combine prompts (so for example, write something that covers a prompt from day 1, 2, AND 3). You don't have to do the days in order either, go wild! To be considered a 'completionist', you only have to make sure that at the end of the month, you've covered 31 prompts from 31 different days, but whether you do that in 31 works or just 1 is up to you.

What are these alts about?

If none of the three prompts of a particular day are your cup of tea, you can swap them out for an alt prompt of your choice.

What are these themes about?

Just a little bit of extra fun for the mods. Like last year, we'll be handing out various badges for people participating in the event.
