Lmao thank you to everyone who's been tagging me like crazy with this prompt. The exact premise and years being the same is either an insane coincidence, or writing-prompt-s reads my comic and I think both options are objectively pretty funny.

“dude… give her space. For you it’s been 30 years. You’ve had time to grieve and accept you lost your sister. For her though…. she just learned she’s be gone for three decades and hasn’t aged a day. You’ve got your teenage sister back but to her…. to her you’re a 45 year old stranger”

i LOVE your older Dipper design, but what do you think Mabel would look like in her 30s?

Something like this? I think 30s-40s Mabel would look like the elementary school art teacher who made such a transformative impact on you that it preserved your childlike creativity for all your adult life. Design notes below:

Hair got curlier as she got older

Eyesight got worse (damn Filbrick's genes)

Strong jawline runs in the family

Wears purple as much as she can

No braces (yay) but bold lipstick and matching eyeshadow

For those who keep asking, yes the comic is still coming strong! Please know that I have a lot of spinning plates in my life (ie jobs and deadlines and sleeping, also quality time with loved ones), so I can’t promise a consistent pace. I work on it when I have the time but sometimes I just don’t have time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We have five pages left in Chapter 1, the next two of which I plan on releasing next week. For now, here’s some WIPs.

Ohh good question--maybe this one? It was nice to draw his goofy smile for once and I had fun picking the font for the fancy Good Morning Mabel.

"Mabel approached the older Dipper, unable to keep believing in a lie anymore.

'Mabel...' Dipper said.

But before the adult could finish his sentence, Mabel rushed towards and threw her arms around him, sobbing violently. It took less than one second to Dipper return the embrace, tears falling in cascade. The legs of both twins gave up and they kneeled, still hugging each other tightly, like their lives depended on it. On that moment, everything came through: the shared experiences that were lost, the joyful moments that could never be lived, everything that was taken from them. But in the sea of tears and sorrow that was forming, there was a drop of happiness and hope. Because despite of painful road they had ahead of them, they still had each other and would always be there for each other. A connection stronger than the worst disasters. An unbreakable bond. A love only twins could understand. So from outside, they were crying. But from inside of them, they were smiling."

Forgive me if this is a dumb question but if Mabel was gone for "1 week" but it's actually been 30 years how old are they? How old are the Grunkles?

Not a dumb question at all! Mabel is still 12. Dipper is 43. There doesn’t seem to be an exact age on the Grunkles but considering that they were between 8-10 in “1960 something” Ford is still in his mid to late 50s pushing 60. This means Stan is in his mid to late 80s pushing 90.

im not sure if this has been said already but i am positively RUINED over ford and stan losing so much of what little time they had left together after initially reuniting. i am NOT ready to see stan at the care home

Is Mabel upset at dipper because he grew up without her? Or because of how she fell into the portal in the first place, and it's still fresh for her?

It's more like, she's a twelve year old little kid who went without seeing her twin brother for a long week, and was looking forward to finally seeing him again. But instead she's greeted by some guy she doesn't recognize who keeps telling her that he's her brother and the world has moved on without her for decades. At best, she's irritated, and at worst the hostility comes from a place deep deep down where she'd have to accept that this is her reality. It's much easier to lash out at this weirdo who keeps claiming he's Dipper than to accept that she's never going to see the Dipper she knows ever again.

What is your opinion of ketchup on icecream?

I've pondered this throughout the morning. My conclusion is that I can objectively identify how the flavors could work-- and of course, it would greatly hinge on what flavor the ice cream is. Mint? Absolutely not. I once had a basil gelato though, and think there's real promise to a renaissance of pizza-flavored ice cream with that pairing. Even a vanilla would add a creaminess to the sweet/salty that I don't think would be all that unpleasant? The question does beg: would I try it? Probably not. But if any of you are willing to be happy guinea pigs, I would love to hear the outcome of that particular experiment.

Hiii oh dear I'm so excited I love your art I love the story! I love how well made the plot is it's not random it makes sense it's filled with emotions both gut wrenching yet satisfying thank you for giving yourself the opportunity to share this masterpiece with us I'm so happy I came early while your still making it!!!!

Okay too much but still this is mostly an appreciation more than a question so you don't have to answer I'm just happy I could tell you this

Anyway, does bill ever come back in your AU? People say he's still alive (book of bill, website.. etc) so did Dipper ever encounter him, grunkle Stan or the others? Or is he just gone for good since the Weirdmageddon?

Well-- it does get covered later in the story, but it's not really a spoiler to answer this. I can say matter of factly that no, Bill does not make a cameo. He is still alive as confirmed in BoB but to bring him back as a threat seems to cheapen the course of the original show. As I see it, he was a Big Bad, Stanley made a sacrifice and defeated him, and now he's a sad little institutionalized guy stewing in his toxic yaoi regrets. That being said, you can almost say that his actions have resulted in the Thirty Years AU happening at all-- so he will be brought up, but not as a major plot point.

The enemies to friends to lovers to enemies to forgotten to acquaintances to friends (to lovers?) fiddlestan fic in my head has ARCS bro but writing two longform fics at the same time is a feat of hubris I fear. And Dear Mabel/ 30+ Years would update more infrequently. Hm. Chat what do yall think?

Yes! He and Mabel only experienced a week away from home, so they are both the same age as in the canon show (I suppose you could say Mabel's a little older since she spent her 13th birthday in the multiverse).
