Ohhh the concept continues to deepen, this is absolutely fascinating. I love that one robot's selfish wish, to continue to fight for the sake of its purpose, resulted in a reality of bloodshed and pain where it got to survive while the other robot prioritized the connection it had with its mech rider and chose to wish against its purpose, creating a world of peace but meeting its end. There's something fascinating about machines built to serve human desires changing the world so fundamentally because of their own desires. It brings up a lot of questions about what is considered a good or evil outcome--is the demise of humanity or robot-kind a sadder end to their stories? And how it was a human relationship that saved one world and human apathy that doomed another. Splendid writing and beautiful art as always!
Doomed robot yuri anyone?? Part 3/7 of my robot scifi x magical girl one-shot, "Despair's End Terminal Namicha"!

They're so Gender gah I love you Lady and Lord Wimsey
"Bless the man, if he hasn't taken my gown instead of his own! Oh, well, it doesn't matter. We're much of a height and mine's pretty wide on the shoulders, so it's exactly the same thing."
And then it struck her as strange that it should be the same thing.

me with the Tenant of Wildfell Hall holy MOLY was that a fantastic book
reading and watching “classic” books and films is such an interesting experience because, before you get into them, when you only know them by name and maybe the vaguest plot outline, they’re intimidating and stuffy and up on a pedestal, but then you finally take the leap and check them out and realize that almost every story that’s achieved such a legendary level of popularity did so because something in its emotional core reached out and grabbed a lot of people by the throat and you are NOT immune.

I don’t think we as a fandom grieve enough for Bella. Arthur Lester was scared and young but so was she. So was she!!
Transcript and context:
What a show ol’ sport! The chemistry between you and that pretty Falabella was off the charts, I reckon you’re half in love already! Crawling out of the orchestra pit did you worlds of good, and I could say the same for getting that young lady out of that dusty costume shop. Thought you’d want a souvenir for your efforts. Perhaps something to look at to remind you of the “good old times.” Congratulations on your “Shakespearean summer,” eh?
Regards,
———
“I’m sorry Bella. You loved me as Hermia and I made you my miserable Ophelia”
My private headcanon is that Arthur and Bella met while working behind the scenes in their college’s Shakespeare productions, Arthur composing the music and Bella sewing costumes. One year they were pressured into auditioning and both got leading roles as Hermia and Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. They became good friends and started dating under the influence of friends and the exhilaration of the production. The rest of history. There is absolutely zero evidence for this, I just thought it suited what we know about the characters.

Oh dear I love them so much and when I love things I ramble so here’s my two pennies:
Something I just adore about Edwin and Dumas is how the premise of their relationship is founded on integrity. Dumas didn’t HAVE to marry Edwin, when they first me; his promise of marriage was clearly hyperbole spoken from a place of frustration. And this moment could have been played off for laughs but Dumas DID keep his promise and that actually speaks worlds to how he maintains his relationships. Despite being a highly educated elf, he’s able to commit to challenging his worldview and grow in understanding, which comes into play when the fiancés confront each other’s idiosyncrasies. As their affection deepens you see just how much they respect and cherish each other, particularly as intellectual equals. Edwin is a crow and therefore probably used to beings looking down on them for being a “lesser” life form but Dumas never once uses condescending language once he learns that Edwin is a being full of cleverness and experiences to be respected and learned from. Even when Edwin questions why Dumas is fulfilling his promise, his response is complete assurance that he fell in love with Edwin for their wit and passion, that the decision wasn’t made impulsively at all. I just love seeing the real work they’re putting in to make this relationship strong, like confronting culture shocks and Edwin’s reconciling their crow upbringing with living as a humanoid. And when they make the effort to participate in each others worlds, like Duma giving Edwin high quality crow gifts and Edwin trying to eat magic flowers so they can spend time together, it’s such a healthy exchange of love languages transcending cultures. They’re just so lovely and sweet and tender, they make me crazy.
Its ✨️THEM✨️~
#I’m aroace but if I woke up one day in a relationship like theirs I wouldn’t leave#if there ever was to be a graphic novel or larger project I’d project it to the world#I want as many people as possible to experience such a cute health communicative romance#yujateababbles#crow time

Yes yes yes it’s also the fault of marketing culture and how capitalism seeks to reproduce predictable results by catering to a consumer ideal rather than preserving the sanctity of artwork for artwork’s sake. Art will naturally find the audience it was made for, but exploitative policies seek control over an audience’s exposure so as to increase profit. Bottom line is to make weird art and be true to yourself, it’s the best way to deconstruct this sickness.
I feel like we really lost something when we started looking at writing as a reader-centric product meant to appeal to the desires of a specific audience rather than a writer-centric approach of someone writes whatever particular thing particular compels them/whatever weird thing the demons in their head want to talk about, and people out there who are also compelled, and/or relate, find that writing. A lot of discussions of writing really center around what readers want rather than a writer's exploration. Sometimes as a reader I don't know what I want. I click on a fic or pick up a book I'm not sure about but that looks interesting, and I love it. Reading what I expect to get is it's own joy, but we always need to expand our horizons and not get mad at creators for not always writing what we want/expect.

God yeah… John made a home in Arthur and now can’t fathom the idea of leaving but Arthur isn’t a home he’s a person but he’s also dependent on John for survival just AURGFHFBDB
Can we talk about how John has reached a point where the only thing he truly wants is to just be with Arthur?
He doesn't really care about leaving the dark world or saving the universe, doesn't care about getting his own body. He tries to get Arthur to just sit down with him and find peace in each other's company until the world ends. One would assume that he would get excited at the idea of autonomy, but there's dread in his voice at the prospect.
Arthur can't stop because the world isn't yet what he needs it to be, John wants to stop because being with his friend and partner at the end of the world is exactly what he needs.

Bites them bites them bites them bites—
John and Arthur are the pinnacle of aroace insanity to me. I love you. I want to stay with you forever. When we were separated I spent all my time hunting and killing alternate versions of you so I could make myself a home inside your bones again. No one understands me like you do. You are my home my world my best friend the best thing that’s ever happened to me even though I’m the worst thing that’s ever happened to you.
