No, no, this Mabel’s got something different going on, and the town’s about to get a whole lot weirder—and not the fun kind.

See, when Mabel shows up again, things start breaking bad in ways you don’t even want to understand. Old friends, new threats, and secrets deeper than the freakin’ Mystery Shack’s basement. She’s got her own game now, and believe me, you don’t want to be on the wrong side of it.

Q: If you had to kill each other, no way out of it, what would you do?

*Sixer and Bill raise an eyebrow, tilting their head and look at each other*

Sixer: I would consume you like a dying star.

Bill: I'd sever your soul from the mortal plane and wear your skinsuit for all eternity. Like a permanent hug!

*sloppy makeout sounds*

Q: Do you two use any identity or sexuality labels?

Sixer: Pardon?

Bill: Sixer is CisMale AroAce, or at least Demi-Romantic Ace. My pronouns are He/Him, Gender is none left beef, sexuality is Yes, all the time. Oh! Sixer and I collectively use We/Us instead of I/Me, and He/They/It pronouns. No hard and fast rules though.

Sixer: ....nothing you just said made any sense to me.

Q: Bill, how do you feel about the fact Sixer is Asexual, and at most Demi-Romantic, especially since you prioritize physical affection?

Bill: Sixer lets me be as clingy as I want, and I'd never want to force him or push him to do anything he didn't like! He loves me in his own way, and I love him for all that he is and isn't.

Sixer: Additionally, I'm not a prude when it comes to intimacy, so we've experimented with open relationships from time to time so Bill can have a physical relationship. We've found we both tend to get jealous, and it's not something we have the luxury or option to do often when we're on the run so often.

Q: Speaking of sexuality, did you ever struggle with intimacy or reciprocated feelings with other people?

Sixer: For myself I often thought it an obligation to be intimate, that it was like other social constructs and requirements, where no one genuinely Liked it, but it was Expected.

I certainly hurt a few people, human and not, when they realized I felt no physical attraction to them, or that I would simply let my mind wander elsewhere during activities. I believe Bill referred to it as sex-repulsed once before.

Bill: My story is far less sobby. I had no relationships with anyone of my own species because I was focused on my goals, and was admittedly an ouctast socially, but it wasn't out of lack of desire. We're big believers in fate, so when I fell in love with Sixer here at first sight, before I even completely understood the ties between Fords and Bills, I knew I had to keep him.

Q: Sixer, do you have any marks or tattoos Bill put on you like other Fords?

Sixer: Yes, Bill added the symbol of himself on our arm, and the words "If Lost Return to Bill Cipher" on our wrists. I also have a scar under my eye from his lack of coordination-

Bill: Hey!

Q: Don't you have a similar phrase across your torso as well?

Sixer: Yes, I had that one added myself, as well as the All-Star tattoo on my neck. Not my proudest moment...

Q: So you two are married, what was that desicion like? Did someone propose?

Sixer: I proposed. I found it the most human symbol and rite to describe the idea of spending our entire life together. Truly two beings becoming one.

Bill: *bright pink, quietly* it was the most romantic moment of my life

Q: Where did you get married?

Sixer: I proposed to him while watching a dying star consume its twin in fire, and we were married standing on a proto-star. It was a very... private occasion.

Q: This one is for 17, do you have any romantic desires, for a partner or in general?

17: I'm too old for that, even if I'm genetically altered not to age. I never felt the desire to settle down like Stanley did, I'm happy with my family for now.

...If the opportunity came up for a relationship beyond something physical, I'd probably play it by ear. Maybe it'd be nice to have someone. Maybe not a family of my own at this age but... someone to care about me that way... that will let me treat them well and spoil them.....

*ahem*

B-But that aint happening anytime soon with this damn Cipher still in my head.

Q: What do you think about other versions of yourselves, or other members of the Multiverse like Sanchez, Mabel and Dipper, McGucket, Stanley?

Sixer: Meeting them certainly make me miss my family, but its interesting each time. From good interesting like helping a Drifting Star home, to bad interesting like running from MM!Ford. It's apparently very easy to insult a ""god"".

Bill: Bills are always a hoot! I haven't met many though... C.I.P.H.E.R is pretty funny when they aren't trying to eat me! I'd like to meet more if theres any Bills out there, pop by and say hi! We can get impossible triangle shaped sheet cake together!

17: I don't see much of anyone other than Sixer myself. Other Fords can be annoying, but I really only have it out for McGuckets personally. Those insane bastards need to be put down.

Sixer: ....can you tell he never had his own Fiddleford?

Bill: Neither did you!

Sixer: I never met the Doctor personally, so I suppose I can't have much an opinion.

Q: Do you kiss?

Sixer: Yes. Bill isn't hurt that I usually only do it only to make him happy. Making him happy makes me happy too. :)

Q: Bill, you maintain Sixer's mind, have you ever manipulated it to your benefit?

Bill: Yes and no, Sixer has asked me a few times to suppress or emotionally detach himself from memories or events. Any other changes made haven't been on purpose, but I am aware us slowly becoming one mind has had affects on his personality. Part of me.... doesn't feel guilty about it.

Q: Bill, why do your arms do that? Why aren't you as powerful as other Bills?

Bill: Yeesh, a bit rude but I'll allow it. My arms are like this because of the C.I.P.H.E.R program trying to consume me. See, it traps Bills in the 2nd dimension until they go insane, slowly siphoning off their power as it consumes them. Got myself caught once and Sixer had to pull me out through an old TV screen, but it fought back. My arms got all funky and warped. Now they sorta feel like static all the time, and twitch and curl in on themselves uncontrollably, especially when I'm anxious.

As for why I'm not as powerful, I'm just younger than most! I didn't spend millions of years affecting the Earth dimension Sixer is from, I just ate a few stars and dimensions in a blackout of grief and anger. Then the ACS started trying to arrest me. A Red Cipher that had been arrested as well explained what was happening, helped me break out with the last of his power.

Probably should have a few more stars in my diet, but don't forget, I can still manipulate reality, so watch the tone buster.

for Real reverse falls was so... Gravity Falls actually had this problem with a fair few of it's AUs, like a lot of the interpretations of the stan-went-thru-the-portal-instead (but ford still waited 30 years) or ageswap just made mabel and dipper into stan and ford again and it's just.... sigh.

(I also have Thoughts about those AUs - I've currently got some of my ageswap au Thoughts written up, actually, though none of the others.)

I had my own ideas for reverse falls a long time ago - i couldn't find it now, some art/writing journal i last touched in like 2015 and likely lost when we moved house - but I always wanted to explore the canon negative characteristics of our heroes like Mabel's selfishness and Dipper's ambition, Stan's criminality and Ford's egotistic tendencies, if i were to do a reverse falls AU. Also everyone who made dipper swap with gideon and mabel swap with pacifica SO missed the point. if anyone was swapping roles literally instead of narratively, then dipper would swap with Pacifica and Mabel would swap with Gideon. There's a lot more parallels there that are interesting. Dipper and Pacifica have - to very different degrees, but still - canonically fraught relations with their family members at various points, and they're both easily caught up in competition and they're both very stubborn, but they've both got the same potential for good in them, as well as ill. I'd need like, time to talk it through properly in meta or some such, but basically; dipper and pacifica parallel each other better than mabel and pacifica do (Mabel and Pacifica are literally foils, guys - and not in the two-sides-of-a-coin way, in the narrative way where they're not reverses of each other and more simply have characteristics that clash, which is not the same thing), and if you're swapping dipper and pacifica there's much less weirdness with the characterisation people automatically do to pacifica when they make her Pacifica southwest, which is basically just blonde mabel and is really boring. Pacifica's not like that! Pacifica stood up to her parents to save people. Pacifica is very outwardly self-centred and she cares about the appearances her parents have conditioned her to keep up, but she's more invested in actually helping people when you get down to the wire. When Mabel is asked by Bill in sock opera about sacrificing stuff for the sake of your sibling, I can't see a reverse!gideon being the dipper in the room - but I can see Gideon being Mabel, realising all the things Pacifica does, despite the front she puts up, and coming to his senses. There's also the idea that Gideon swapping with Dipper just doesn't really make any sense anyway - they share maybe one trait, but for the most part they're very different people. (that trait, by the way, I feel is showmanship. But dipper and pacifica share that, too, so like, moot point, right.)

Anyway, yeah. I'd rather do the whole thing like, swapping narrative function - antagonists, protagonists, villains and heroes and all that - but like... if i were to swap roles; Dipper's instigator-investigator-hero role, I wouldn't give that to Gideon. I might still have Gideon discover the journal, but I'd have Pacifica decide to use it to solve problems around town and get into other people's business. Maybe in this AU she decides to keep up appearances by actually doing the good things for the community her family pretends to. I mean, she didn't know her family were liars at the beginning, remember! Maybe her pride manifests differently as the protagonist.

Stan can stay basically the same in a Reverse AU tbh - just make him more realistic. Guy is a career criminal with a current, ongoing smuggling operation. Like, c'mon. Family loyalty can be a double-edged sword!

As for Ford, just... there's some real obvious ways. But my main issue is that I don't think the "will" situation is ever properly explained in a Reverse!AU. Like I don't want to make these entirely new characters with a gravity falls coat of paint, just as much as i don't want it to be canon with a redesign, you know? I've never read a reverse AU that got to the point of explaining the portal or why Ford is still trapped in there if he's evil and had control over "will", like it doesn't make sense. I think a Reverse AU needs the caveat of keeping Bill mostly the same, or maybe making the Time Baby the big bad. I mean, canon actually has an evil dipper that's got some fucked up shit to do with time-travel going on, from one of the books they released (i forget which one, sorry). But yeah - I don't know why nobody talks about that. It rotates in my brain like i can't get rid of it; dipper canonically goes evil or at least very creepy and worrisome at some point in the future of gf!!! he seems to be our normal good dip-dop as an older teen, but once he's an adult he's gone fully off the deep end. And I think that's interesting, because that would mean in a reverse AU, dipper as a kid should be fully off the deep end, but once he's grown he's a heroic sort of character. teen dipper should be weird and unnerving while adult dipper actually is genuinely honest when he says the future got fixed and he shouldn't worry about teen dipper, instead of sounding very scary and evil about it.

But yeah, I mean - reverse AU also doesn't really make sense with the choices it makes in regards to the side characters, like, what are you going to do with people like Susan? It's a roleswap au, so who's role is she swapping, if we're not going with a more, metatextual swap of narrative importance/alignment? People always swapping Wendy and Robbie seems odd to me. Some of the swaps seemed arbitrary, and that one especially with the way that robbie!Wendy got drawn was... hm. It really seemed to me that was just an excuse to draw an emo wendy redesign, which, babes, you don't need an excuse for that. Just draw what you feel like, you know. It's fanart, it doesn't need a whole AU around it to "excuse" it's existence - it's cool either way.

Idk, man. Yeah. Reverse AU always bugged me. It seemed like a wasted opportunity for some really neat character studies. But that's just me!

But before the adult could finish his sentence, Mabel rushed towards and threw her arms around him, sobbing violently. It took less than one second to Dipper return the embrace, tears falling in cascade. The legs of both twins gave up and they kneeled, still hugging each other tightly, like their lives depended on it. On that moment, everything came through: the shared experiences that were lost, the joyful moments that could never be lived, everything that was taken from them. But in the sea of tears and sorrow that was forming, there was a drop of happiness and hope. Because despite of painful road they had ahead of them, they still had each other and would always be there for each other. A connection stronger than the worst disasters. An unbreakable bond. A love only twins could understand. So from outside, they were crying. But from inside of them, they were smiling."

Ugly chapter link again - oh well. Chapter 18 of Fade to White - Grunkle Bill is up!! I only have 1k words written for the next chapter so I'm not sure I'll be able to upload Friday but I'll do my best! In the meantime, here's a chapter excerpt

"I can assure you everything is fine now, Dipper. A case of... miscommunication is all. It seems I have to work on it with more people than just Stanley."

Ford directed that last part to Mabel. She'd taken on the roll of mediator / demander of peace as Stan and Ford got used to living together again, on a boat of all places. Every fight over stray coffee grounds or cheating at poker games exploded to the point Dipper was shocked neither had been thrown overboard (that they knew of, he supposed).

Following the arguments came Ford's regret, especially if Stan had an episode of memory loss right after, and Stan struggling with his depression again, both too stubborn to talk things out until Mabel intervened. They'd gotten better at it, but still had regular check-ins with both of them to prove they were getting along.

There hadn't been any big fights they knew of since they returned to Gravity Falls, so it had been jarring to wake up to screaming, both of them wondering if they were about to bear witness to an actual fight, not just the aftermath of petty old men on separate video calls.

"Are you sure you're okay, Grunkle Ford? I can get my glitter bandaids if you need it!"

In this au, Catnap is Bill Cipher. Because they have similarities. This is about a draft of what a cat looks like. There is also a hum version that I am currently drawing. In fact, this is banter about the fact that they both almost burned alive twice.

Catnap (Catnap)-Bill Cipher.

He is a dream demon. To invoke, you need to pronounce words in a certain language, dig a moon flower (in the 4th picture) and plant it in a pot, and then set it on fire. If you dug it correctly, the moon will turn red. Then soon your dream will be visited by a Dreamer to consider the terms of the deal. To break the deal, you need to break the stem of the flower. Just keep in mind. The more often the Demon comes to you in a dream, the more difficult it will be to do this.

Remember the main thing, carefully study the deal so that there are no problems, otherwise the Demon of Sleep will deceive you, and until someone breaks the stem of the flower, the Dreamer will own your body and do whatever he wants.

This is how a flower should look after you set it on fire. After you break the stem, it will turn blue again

Alright, I finished this fic I was talking about!

It isn't super long, esp. for me, but I am still really happy to have gotten this done and to be getting to posting it. And personally think it is really great.

A more character(s) study piece/character(s)-focused fic, instead of focusing on plot/story (though a lot of my stuff focuses a lot on characters in general. But this is a more heavy kind of character study and/or analysis-type fic. And I personally really enjoyed writing this kind of fic, and just in general).

And I am excited to get to posting it.

Though it might take me a bit to post it both on AO3 and on here (Tumblr).

But with the fic being not too long or multi-chapter, it should hopefully not that take too long finish posting this fic. ^_^

I actually have multiple Gravity Falls and GF TAU and Reverse Falls and etc. stuff that stems from this specific The Book of Bill thing.

Specifically stuff exploring Dipper's nightmares.

(I have some other ideas for the other dreams and/or nightmares too. Sometimes even in relation to Dipper's in some way).

I love my boy, and his nightmares hurt my heart.

But also because I love him, I want to explore even more of issues/trauma/suffering and/or to do Dipper angst. And etc.

Because I want both happiness and/or suffering for my faves/the characters I love very much.

Like Dipper.

So he is going to be getting even more of that from me, probably.

Because he is great and I love him.
