(amazing designs by @catttttyVT on twt 🖤)
#jayce talis#viktor arcane#jayvik#arcane#i love how popular the jellyfish fic is. first time i've liked a fic big enough to spawn its own fanart tag#and i am not complaining#q

fwiw, agree with all your points on your recent jayvik post. implication being its in response to people calling not liking/enjoying caitvi anymore is misogynistic.
like sorry some marginalized people don’t vibe with lesbian cops a longstanding trope with crappy origins.
it's not 100% in response to the misogynistic thing but it was definitely on my mind (and I didn't know about the lesbian cop trope! just from the sound of it I can see why people won't like it)
and yeah, Caitlyn's great with a great love for justice, but people don't really vibe with the whole 'I want to help people! I want to protect them! I'm going to be a cop!" thing anymore. I mean, it's the 2020s, Caitlyn, read the room /s
no, but Caitlyn's arc in s1 seemed to be going towards realizing how corrupt the enforcers are and being disillusioned with Piltover, which I think would be relatable for many people. I think lots of people would relate to wanting to help but realizing the way they're doing it is actually the exact opposite. The problem is that it got completely derailed in s2 and never hit the landing, because this is still the League of Legends show and she Has To Be The Sheriff. At least Jayce's similar arc about realizing how shitty the council is ended with him saying "I don't give a shit about the council." And then he fell into a ravine so there weren't many chances to contradict it. Anyway, both Cait and Vi got fucked over in s2
Also as an east asian I just get disappointed with east asian cops lmao. If there was a plaque of the model minority in some government office, it would have a picture of an east asian cop.
(why are all of the prominent cops in Arcane POC? The more you think about Arcane the more you realize that it's a good show at first experience but it completely falls apart the more you try to analyze it. At least half the reason why the fandom is so insufferable is because of the ways the writing is messy imo)
#ask#some of the shit I've read about possible jayce storylines in s2 made me so relieved they decided to chuck him off a cliff instead#rip caitIyn fans tho. at least she was hot as a dictator#wait to be clear: rip to them because her arc was shoddily done#if she had a *good* dictator arc i wouldn't say that. you can like a problematic character. it's fun#all characters in arcane are problematic. uhh a *more* problematic character

South of Midnight is a great game and its traversal skills are so generic it's actually making me wonder if it comes with the engine. Every time they show me a new mechanic I'm like "yes, I have played FFVII Rebirth and/or Star Wars: Jedi Survivor." They're all on Unreal Engine. Does that engine genuinely just come with double jump, wall run, and grappling hook?
The upside to this is that, in all ways but story-wise, I have already played this game, so there is no learning curve. None of the chase sequences or platforming challenges are difficult because I did the fucking Jedi Survivor platforming challenges.
the downside is that I don't think it fits thematically with the story, but props for them for trying. And, hey, it's an indie game. If it comes with the engine, you might as well take it
#me.txt#I play games#and late I'm gonna google if unreal engine comes with wall running#what does come with mean? In my head it's like a generic ability for a generic model#or a popular code you can download#or it's included in the tutorial for the engine? as a way of teaching ppl how to use it?#I know NOTHING about game dev stuff. I only know how to write for loops
