Just finished reading 9: Genesis and I have some WORDS
This contains spoilers!! Read the original comic if you haven’t
Y’know when 11, 13, and 14 got shot I thought they’d live by a hair NO THEY ALL FUCKING DIED AND I BARELY GOT TO KNOW THEM WHAT THE FUCK
Tumblr media
UGGGHHHHHHH MAAAN WHAT THE FUUUUCK I felt like crying
ALSO HOW TF DO YOU JUST KILL TWO PPL IN ONE PAGE??? (8 and 15)
Also how immediately after 12 and 5 kiss 12 dies THE WAY I SHRILLED WHEN I SAW THAT RIBBON
Also 6’s death and seeing 10’s heart I SCREAMED
I initially thought 11, 13, and 14 wouldn’t show up at the end but I’m happy they did :)))
Overall, pretty good comic :)

The original Neon Genesis Evangelion series has a weird nostalgic feeling to it because it was made in the 90's and set 20 years into future, which is also in the past now. It's like retrofuturism or alternative history now

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you."
Genesis 12
Listen, daughter, and pay careful attention: Forget your people and your father’s house. Let the king be enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord.
Psalm 45
I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
Genesis 12
Your sons will take the place of your fathers; you will make them princes throughout the land. I will perpetuate your memory through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you for ever and ever.
Psalm 45
...I think i am onto something

The Tower of Babel
1 And the whole earth was of one language and of one speech. 2 And it came to pass as they journeyed from the east that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick instead of stone and slime instead of mortar. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of the man built. 6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people are one, and they all have one language; and they begin to do this, and now nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do. 7 Now, let us go down and there confound their language that they may not understand one another’s speech. 8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from there upon the face of all the earth, and they left off to build the city. 9 Therefore the name of it was called Babel because there the LORD confounded the language of all the earth, and from there the LORD scattered them abroad upon the face of all the earth. — Genesis 11:1-9 | The Jubilee Bible (JUB) The Jubilee Bible (from the Scriptures of the Reformation), edited by Russell M.
