[looks up boldly and kindly] I'm sorry to hear that, it must be very hard living like that. If i can do anything to help you in your pain please let me know, i'm no "elven shawty" but know you don't have to be alone in your suffering. In any case i'll be praying for you. And if you ever meet God, the real God who is nothing but pure love (even though it may be very hard to believe sometimes and yeah i get it i really do), and change your mind about Them, They're always waiting with open arms for you
[clutches my head and screams, falls to my knees, hunches over, vomits a torrent of blood onto the freshly fallen snow] I can feal the love in the air tonight

“Do you think that because these Galileans suffered by having their blood mingled with the blood of their sacrifices, they were greater sinners than all other Galileans? By no means! But I tell you, if you do not repent, you will all perish as they did!" Jesus said.
And then He went on to make His blood His sacrifice and to mingle it with the blood of everyone who loved Him. And then He went on to make it a blessing instead of a curse

Thinking about how Moses was the first ever human to ask God Their name
Thinking about how Exodus in Hebrew is titled Shemot, The Book of Names, and this is the book in which we learn God's name
Thinking about the Holy Name itself, how poignant and meaningful it is how much it encompasses (too much to write it all here and now) how Hebrew was the perfect and maybe the only language able to express its meaning
Thinking about how God's name is Their breath of life, how it is quite literally life itself
Just, thinking about IHWH again

Yeah, yeah, the Ides of March, we've all heard of it. But did you know: Julius Caesar's appointed heir was his grand-nephew, Gaius Octavian, later called Caesar Augustus? You might have heard of him in a little thing called the nativity story, which beings: “And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed...” (Luke 2:1). Yeah! That Caesar! One of the most iconic and powerful and acclaimed and venerated champions and empire builders, who deified his predecessor Julius Caesar and therefore allowed himself to be remembered in one inscription as, "Divine Augustus Caesar, Son of God, Savior of all the world." Which is kind of ironic, but also (because history is a story) thematic and meaningful, as it was during his reign that the actual Son of God and Savior of the whole world (mmhmm, yep!) was born—a tiny baby in an unassuming stable, destined to die for the sins and failings of all, and bring down the mighty from their thrones and exalt those of humble estate (Luke 1:52). Pretty neat.

I have now thank you! 😍😍😍
I've been thinking about when Jesus resurrects Jairus' daughter, and how the first thing he does is tell them to feed her. I sort of feel like her sometimes, like that's kind of my relationship with the Eucharist. Everytime I fall Jesus brings me back to like and feeds me with himself. I've been seeing the Eucharist in so many bible passages lately, like the banquet after the prodigal son comes back, or the bread that's given to Elias when he's desperate and wants to die. God left so many clues and when I read them I just feel so much joy knowing He truly wants to come to me in the Eucharist, even if I don't feel worthy of it.

Okay I NEED to tell you all a story.
So dressing up is awesome that's why every party done by my friends and me has a dresscode. There was one friend whose parties were famous, she would invite a hundred people to her relatively small flat, there was always a huge cuddle pile on her tiny couch (high school was awesome), a hot makeshift dancefloor, very loud drunken and sober singing, everyone was there, and it was a fairly cultured party, too, no hard drugs, no s*x, no scandalous behavior.
The dresscode for this particular legendary birthday party was "fruits and vegetables play together on the street" (genius i know). You could come dressed as a fruit, a vegetable, or a road sign. There were some great ideas (for example a friend of mine was a green stop sign and called himself a "cognitive dissonance! cause look, you see something like this on the street and what do you do??? do you stop? or do you go??"), some very politically incorrect ideas (there was a guy who dressed up as a comatose patient and told us he was a vegetable, truly outrageous but also the most creative one out there), bananas, pickles, zebras (as in what you sometimes call a pedestrian crossing but literally the animal), lots of traffic lights, another friend of mine somehow got a real life traffic cone and wore it on her head dressed in a reflective vest, it was awesome.
Now for all the reasons i've listed before our host was famous not only amongst her peers. That's why this time we got complaints not from one, not from two, but from FOUR neighboring blocks for disturbing the mandatory quiet hours. This was the first (and only as for now) party in my life that the police kicked me out from. It was so cool!
This would normally mean that the party was over, right? Hehehe wrong. Of course many people went home after that but a big enough group, me included, decided on a meeting place nearby in order to continue the fun outdoors by the river, singing "Do you hear the people sing?" as we went. Before that, though, we had to get some food.
So now, imagine being an around-60-something shop assistant. Imagine it's nearly 11pm, just before you will need to close the store for tonight. In come several young people of varying ages, all dressed up as pickles, potatoes, fruit, traffic cones, road signs, etc. They all get very excited over your fruit and vegetables section, one guy lifting a bunch of bananas and tearfully saying, "look, it's my family!!!" Some of them probably are in the middle of a philosophical discussion. Some of them are singing either musical theatre numbers or Christian choral passion hymns. All in all they look like they have just escaped a mental asylum.
Needless to say, we got kicked out of the store, too
My friends and I used to do this thing where we'd dress up on a theme and go do something totally normal.
We dressed up as pirates and went bowling.
We dressed as vikings and went to the grocery store. The security guard told us we had to move our longship because it was illegally parked.
We dressed as Romans and went to Blockbuster. The staff chanted, "toga! Toga! Toga!" at us.
We dressed up all steampunk and went to the museum. Tourists kept taking our picture.

I don't think it's about the quantity. To me it's about God wanting and being able to turn the worst things into the best things in the world, the greatest evil into the most wonderful grace.
Our sins wound Jesus and that is very bad. It's awful. But! God is stronger than that and in His love and mercy and wisdom He chose to use the pain we inflicted on Him and turn it into our salvation. Now, if hypothetically only one person in the history of the world sinned only once, do you think that the grace flowing from Jesus' wounds would be any less? I doubt it. And if it were, it would only be because God would see that we don't need it and showing us the greatest possible love would be giving us a little less. So i don't think you should sin more, you are given the most love possible because Jesus wants you to have it, not because it's relative to your input. But if you do sin more, Jesus may see that you need more grace and love and healing because you're more lost and thus He will turn His pain into your salvation out of love for you.
There is however some sense to what you're saying and it can be found in the Exsultet, the ancient Paschal hymn sung during the Easter Vigil (if you don't know it go check it out it's great and it's got bees appreciation!! 💛🖤). In it we sing "Oh truly necessary sin of Adam destroyed completely by the Death of Christ! Oh happy fault that earned so great, so glorious a Redeemer!" This to me is absolutely nuts! It's the only moment during the liturgical year when we get so drunk on the joy of Jesus' resurrection we dare bless even the evil! And it's not encouraging sinning but it is recognizing how ineffably wondrous God's plan was.
Jesus loves us the most. One cannot do anything to make Him love us more, be it sinning or living piously.
I don’t wanna be that guy, but this is something I’ve never quite understood. It seems to be a bit of a paradox. Maybe I’m just thinking too much.
Our sins wound Jesus, they caused Him so suffer and they still do.
But Jesus’ wounds are precisely what heals us, because He offers them in expiation to the Father.
So… our sins are the cause of our redemption? This could be seen as a marvellously beautiful paradox in terms of God’s singular and unique creativity in our redemption… but it also seems like a total contradiction and “plot hole.” so to speak. Because by that logic, shouldn’t we sin more in order to be saved/healed/redeemed more? Maybe it’s just a divine mystery I should let go of trying to figure out… but I can’t. How are both things true and yet the conclusion is not?
Help! Thank you!
