Set myself a new challenge for my runs this week. Usually I just focus on hitting half an hour of jogging but I've been pushing myself a tiny but more to keep going to reach 5k which seems to very slowly be improving!

(Yes, I am laying on a tree dangling over crystal clear [very cold] water!
This was a freakin' awesome run for me! I stayed under ten minutes on the first 4 k's I purposely slowed the pace for a cool down on the final k. The mission had ended so I was just taking in the random song that just fit with that final push. It fit perfectly and just helped me chill. I had no intention of running anymore at that point...
Until... the very last 0.5km a zombie horde came on my tail. Thinking to myself, "Okay, fine! I'll try to outrun them. Just as I evaded them, at the 5.01km mark, I was at the trail exit! It's like they were in my brain and watching me at the same time...lol

Also, ya girl run a sub 30 minute 5k! This was a few runs ago and I’m although this is still my best time, I’m consistently getting similar figures. I don’t know where the sudden boost came from, but I’ve been trying to get to this for the past 5 years. On to the next goal!

Day 3:
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Went for a run, did my laundry, swept and mopped the floor, made supper, went grocery shopping, took my dog for a walk, worked on my vision board. Everything on my list yesterday was completed!
FEELING:
I feel tired today, but a little bit more motivated than yesterday. I do also work today (I work at a freight railway so I’m considered essential), so I’m trying to stay focused on getting what I need to do today done before I need to head off to work, so I’m a sense I guess I’m also feeling a bit rushed.
RESTRAINTS:
I don’t think I really have any today, but the fact that I work and have to leave in 3.5 hours makes me nervous that I won’t be able to get everything I need to do done.
MOTIVATION:
Okay so I know I’ve said this already, but my 5K Runner App is truly a godsend. I have used it the past 2 days now, and I love how progressive it is. Also, after I’ve been running, my mood has changed for the better. I’m happier, more positive, and it honestly has changed my perspective and outlook for the day. I also have noticed that by running the past 2 days, my motivation has improved. Now I’m not going to fully say it’s all because of my running, but I would like to think that it has helped!
OUTLOOK:
I’m currently eating my breakfast (I got out of bed at 10:30), and then I’m going to finish folding my laundry and I’m gonna go for my run. Because my running is slowed down right now and it’s not constant, I am contemplating taking my dog with me. Today’s run consists of 1 min runs 8 times, with 1.5 min walks in between, so I think my dog can handle that with me.. We will see how it goes!
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
As a side note, which has been really helpful with inspiring me and keeping me motivated, the 5k runner app comes with daily quotes that are inspiring and motivating. I’ve used them in my blog twice now, but so far, the quote’s they’ve provided me every day relate so much to how my day is going and/or how I’m feeling. It’s weird, but I like it!

PERSONAL:
Okay! So I felt really great going to bed yesterday because I got everything done on my list that I wanted to yesterday! While I didn’t finish my vision board like I wanted to, I did add some more things to it. I still am trying to find a few photos that I can use for it before I completely finish it so, just working on it is an accomplishment in itself. Im excited to see how this week will turn out. Afternoon shifts can get a bit sketchy and screw with my body clock and sleeping schedule, so some days I’m left completely exhausted. My start time on afternoon shifts can adjust anywhere from a 3:30 PM start time to a 8:00 PM start time, so I’m hoping that my start time stays consistent this week, and I can continue to stay motivated and not super tired.
Is there anyone else out there that can relate to shift work/adjusted start times? How do you balance your personal life with your work schedule in order to keep you motivated and not dragging your feet?

went out today planning to do an easy 2.5-3 miler (if my body would even let me lol), around halfway I realized that if I picked my pace up a bit I could possibly run a sub-30 which I haven’t done in 6 years......and I ran a 28:45!!! and I felt good! and I’m excited for my running this year!!!
