How to Maximize Efficiency and Customer Satisfaction with Configure Price Quote Tools
Is your sales team sick and tired of spending days generating quotes for complex, configurable products? Look no further than Configure Price Quote (CPQ) tools. These software systems streamline the sales process by automating slow, arduous tasks, reducing the workload of under-pressure teams.
In this article, we'll explain the benefits of CPQ tools and the advanced features to look for. We’ll explore how visual product configuration can take your sales process to the next level with augmented and virtual reality.
By the end of this article, you will have a clear understanding of whether your company would benefit from a CPQ tool and, if you already have one, how to ensure you are fully utilizing its capabilities.
Let’s go for it.
What Are Configure Price Quote Tools?
Configure Price Quote (CPQ) tools are software systems that help businesses generate quotes for configurable products quickly and accurately. These tools typically include features for configuring products and services, calculating prices, and, as mentioned, generating quotes and proposals in a variety of formats.
CPQ tools are used in various industries but provide the most incredible value to manufacturers of complex, configurable products. These companies frequently offer hundreds of thousands of technical options, attributes, and components and so find it hard to provide a slick customer experience. With so many moving parts (no pun intended), pricing is prone to mistakes, and producing quotes, estimates, and proposals takes ages.
Some basic features of CPQ tools include:
Product configuration: Users can select the specific features and options for a product or service being quoted. Instead of relying on pen and paper, they use an intuitive graphical user interface. Product rules contained in the software ensure every configuration is optimized for the customer and error-free.
Pricing calculation: CPQ determines the cost of the configured product based on the selected features and options and calculates a price in real-time.
Quote and proposal generation: CPQ auto-generates professional-looking quotes and proposals based on the configured product or service and the calculated price.
Many CPQ tools include features that allow multiple users to work on a quote or proposal simultaneously, making it easier to collaborate and get approvals. They also integrate with other business systems, such as CRM, ERP, and eCommerce platforms, providing seamless workflows.
The Benefits of CPQ Tools
Here are some of the ways a robust CPQ tool can improve your business:
Faster Sales Cycles: CPQ software automates many of the most time-consuming sales tasks, making the sales process more efficient and streamlined. Providing customers with quotes can take weeks for manufacturers using traditional methods, but with CPQ, quotes take seconds,
Greater Accuracy: Automation reduces the scope for human error and eliminates much of the back and forth that causes delays. Guaranteed accuracy at the configuration stage removes engineering bottlenecks.
Enhances Customer Satisfaction: CPQ quoting tools create accurate quotes and proposals super-quick, making customers’ lives easier and leading to stronger relationships and loyalty.
Advanced CPQ Technology for Manufacturing
To maximize efficiency, minimize mistakes, and improve the customer experience, manufacturers of configurable products should consider implementing a CPQ solution with advanced features beyond the basic ones previously mentioned. The key feature to look out for: is 3D product configuration. Let’s find out why.
The Power of 3D Product Configuration
We’ve already discussed how CPQ lets users configure products using a graphical user interface (called a configurator). It’s a big step up from the napkin sketches on which many salespeople still rely. But CPQ configurators vary significantly in how they function from a user perspective. And some perform far better than others. The best are visual.
Visual product configurators enable users to configure products by interacting with lifelike 3D models. They can drag and drop to assemble their perfect configuration–tweaking materials, colors, and dimensions as they go–until they have the optimal design for their use case–at the right price.
When choosing a CPQ tool, look for a solution with the most advanced visual capabilities possible. You don’t have to use them right away. But as customer expectations increase and you’re fighting for a way to differentiate your products from competitors, you’ll soon wish you had prioritized visual product configuration over anything text-heavy.
Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are the most potent visual technologies on the market and are included in some CPQ tools. This is how they work:
Augmented Reality (AR)
AR lets users view 3D models of their configurable products through their smartphone or tablet. Content is linked to specific locations in the real world using a technique called “marker tracking.” So when a user views a real-world place through the camera on their device, the digital content is superimposed onto the view of the real world. This creates the illusion that the digital image is a part of the physical environment, enabling users to see how a configurable product will look in situ.
Virtual Reality (VR)
VR lets users experience and interact with a simulated environment as if it were real. It’s typically accessed through a headset that covers the user's eyes and ears and sometimes includes hand-held controllers that vibrate as users interact with the world around them.
Manufacturers can leverage VR to build out entire virtual showrooms containing products that customers can view and use. Salespeople can “meet” with customers virtually, wherever they are in the real world. Like AR, VR configuration experiences can be delivered entirely online.
The Benefits of Visual Product Configuration
Is visual product configuration a worthwhile investment for your company? Here are the core benefits to help you decide:
Incredible Customer Experiences: Allowing customers to design and customize their own products using interactive 3D models provides a buying journey that’s both transparent and engaging. Adding AR and VR makes the experience fully immersive, attracting new customers, helping you stand out from the competition, and marking you as a manufacturer on the leading edge of digital transformation.
Increased Win Rates and Deal Sizes: Offering customers the ability to design and customize their own products increases the appeal of your offering and drives more sales. Visualization adds clarity. Showing customers their finished products before they order builds trust and confidence.
Lower Costs: By providing customers with a visual representation of their customizations, manufacturers can reduce the risk of poorly-optimized products or misunderstandings, leading to fewer returns and refund requests.
A Larger Total Addressable Market: The ability to sell complicated products online expands the market size, enabling manufacturers to break out of the confines of their local customer base and reach a global audience.
The Bottom Line
Configure Price Quote tools can significantly improve efficiency and customer satisfaction for companies that sell complex, configurable products. These systems streamline product configuration, pricing calculation, and quote and proposal generation, automating them and reducing the risk of error.
With advanced features like 3D product configuration and augmented and virtual reality, manufacturers can take their sales process to the next level and provide an enhanced customer experience that drives engagement, accuracy, and revenue.

Boutique Mod - DOWNLOAD
Inspired by the sims 2 shopping for clothes system, I present a sims 3 take on buying clothes, accessories and running a thriving boutique! Set up shifts, keep the racks stocked, and you might find yourself in profit!
Required:
Ambitions
NRAAS Master Controller + Integration Module
Optional:
ITF if you want to use the clothes mannequin and some visual effects.
Late Night if you want the animations for the security guard.
Seasons for extra interactions on the mannequin.
Savvy Seller Set for some visual and audio effects.
Full Documentation is included in the download. I spent a while writing it out, so please read thoroughly!
Tumblr media
How Stores Work:
Set up a shift
Hire Employees (bosses count as employees so stores are fully functional with only one sim!)
Link at least one rack to the register
Open for business!
Tumblr media
Employees:
Store employees can be given three types of roles: register attendant, sales attendant and security guard.
Employees will do their jobs automatically but you can always manually tell them to do things too like: restocking, dressing up mannequins, helping customers, among other things.
Tumblr media
Customers:
Inactive and active sims can browse through the racks and have the ability to purchase items. They'll interact differently depending on if they are shopping at a clothes rack, accessory rack, or at a mannequin.
Inactives won't purchase outfits from mannequins unless you direct them to (or you enable auto-purchasing in the XML). However, they may "fake" buy clothes.
Once finished shopping, customers hold their bags and wait to be rung up! Take too long and they may abandon their purchase.
Shopping:
Adjust prices and restrict customers by age and gender to customise your store!
Tumblr media
Clothes Racks:
Buy Clothes for your own sim, sims in your household, or (if you're an employee) suggest clothes for customers.
Employees that suggest clothes for customers can fulfil Ambition Stylist jobs this way.
Tumblr media
Accessories Racks:
Choose accessories to be sold by adding them to the XML in the package file. The XML comes loaded with a few base game items already plus a couple modded items (Arsil's Sunglasses and lipstick - that won't be loaded unless you have them installed).
Sell buy-mode items as well as CAS items!
Make your CAS items wearable from your sim's inventory using your own meshes or my dummy accessory (see Documentation and XML for details).
Blacklist certain categories from being shown. If you want a dedicated shoe shop or an opticians, you can have it!
Try on products before buying them to see if they suit your sim. If there's a mirror in the room, they'll check themselves out in it.
Tumblr media
Clothing Mannequin:
Try on the mannequin outfits to see if they suit your sim.
Plan different outfits to display and even set them to be rotated through seasonally.
Let your employees be creative and choose a random outfit for the mannequin to wear.
Buy clothes for your own sim, household members, or customers.
Allow or disallow inactives from automatically purchasing display outfits.
Tumblr media
Security Gates:
Give your security guards something to stand and look threatening by.
You can try your luck at stealing from the shop. If you're caught, you'll have to pay up. If you get past the gates (or if there are no gates), enjoy your bounty!
Boutique Door:
Cloned from the Savvy Seller doors without the annoying 'kick-every-last-person-out-the-building-come-closing-time' feature.
Link this to a register and let the open and close sign automatically flip itself. Also, close the store or rename it, straight from the door.
Phone Interactions:
Ask for time off work (paid or unpaid).
Call in sick.
Cancel vacation days.
Tumblr media
Credits and Thanks:
@dhalsims for adding geostates to the ITF rack for me. Modders, I really recommend her if you need any 3D models made also!
DouglasVeiga for the BG rack with the geostates.
@aroundthesims for allowing me to use her objects in my mod as always!
Sims 4 for all the animations that I converted.
Simstate & merchant mods for the idea to go into a mode to link racks to the register.
The OG shop for clothes mod and pedestal by @anitmb.
Arsil and @zoeoe-sims for wearable CAS items idea that I adapted.
Ani's Candle mod & Amb. Makeover XML which I looked at for inspo on how to do accessory rack xml.
Compatibility:
All new objects so shouldn't conflict with anything really.
Removes the 'plan outfit' interaction from dressers.
Made on version 1.67.
Tumblr media
If you would like to donate as thanks, please feel free to do so at: my kofi! I don't take your generosity for granted!
Download: - Simblr.cc - 2t3 Boutique Mod Suggested Extra CC: - Lyralei's TS2 Conversions (incl. clothes changing booth) - More ATS3 Security Gates - ATS3 Friperie Set
Known issues, prop information and the full feature breakdown are all in the documentation.
Please be patient with me if there are bugs to fix. Also, anyone who DMs me "I don't know how to create a new shift" will be immediately fined £150.
With that said, please enjoy the mod and tag me in your beautiful boutiques,
Phoebe :)

Metaphysical Shop Red Flags:
Little bit of a disclaimer on this one: This post is made from my personal experience. If you have a small business, this post is not about you, but hey if some of these things stand out to you, maybe it's worth analyzing your business model.
I am someone that's been active in irl and online pagan and witch spaces for over a decade now, and am compiling this from my own experiences, as well as those of my partners. I'm also a tad anti-capitalist, so an alternative title for this post could be "How to Spot if You're Actually that Metaphysical Shop's Cash Cow".
Now, let's get started.
Unknown or unethically sourced White Sage is a really noticeable starting place. Once I was at a market and saw cute smoke cleansing bundles with dried flowers and cinnamon sticks and quartz points, very pretty, very flashy! But when I asked where the Sage was sourced, the lady manning the booth said they were from Amazon. Some sellers value visual appeal to make a sale over anything else.
Overt appropriation via bulk, drop shipped items like “smudging” tools, dream catchers, etc. This list of items can vary dramatically based on who owns the shop, what practices exist in your area, so it’s good to educate yourself on how to spot appropriation. This does NOT mean ethically sourced options that benefit marginalized communities, that’s what we want to insist our local shops have for us to buy!
On that note, a lack of local creators and/or sourcing in general. Not every store has a goal of being a community hub, but beyond that they are still very visible aspects of the community. It strikes me as very odd that I can more reliably buy locally sourced herbs from a random gift shop than I can from a metaphysical store no matter which state I’m in.
Crystals with no information about where they were sourced. There is a growing issue with the intense demand for crystals that has caused an increase in unethical sources, so knowing where your purchases come from is important. Compare prices at metaphysical shops to those at your local rock shop, especially if you are lucky enough to have one run by gemologist, geologist, or rockhound. I have talked about this already elsewhere, so I won’t bog down this post too much with it. The short of it is, transparency is a green flag.
This one may be controversial, but dramatic markups in general. Don’t be afraid to compare prices to other places, particularly other local options if they are available. A few dollars variance is normal, but a huge markup should be obvious. Things like location can have a huge impact on price, which is good to keep in mind. The availability and price of something can vary wildly based on that factor alone, but that’s why I recommend checking against other options within your area. Do remember that comparing to Amazon prices isn’t fair to small businesses, and “cheap” is not the goal here.
If the contents of the store are all drop-shipped, or bulk stock that can definitely be something to keep an eye out for. If the place is full of items you can actually look up on Amazon, that may be worth paying attention to.
Prevalence of well-known problematic authors. If they have Silver Ravenwolf on a central display, that’s always something that tells me a shop prioritizes making a sale over providing quality products. If there’s an overwhelming presence of Lewellyn published books with minimal alternatives, that shows a lack of care for diversity or quality control.
AI items. Let’s be so for real here. Walking into a shop and seeing an obviously AI generated altar cloth with gibberish symbols all over it is a bad thing. I’ll talk more on the rising presence of AI that’s very negatively influencing the quality of information available in the pagan community at a later time.
Bulk resin and 3D printed items. We’ve all seen them, the vendor at a fair with an army of dozens of jointed dragons, or ten resin-cast, glitter-filled Gaia statues that light up! All so sparkly, colorful, and eye-catching. I’d implore anyone to learn more about how much plastic waste is involved in bulk production of low-quality products like this.
What my wife likes to call “Apple Store vibes”. Call me traditional, but when a store is all sleek white lines and tidy, understocked shelves, I know I’m in for some of the highest prices for incense I’ve ever seen. These stores are meant to bring in people with money burning a hole in their pocket, and that’s often reflected in the visually appealing kitsch that never actually seems to serve a purpose.
This can be a red flag SOMETIMES but not always: A lack of diversity in the paths represented. Sometimes a shop is just a reflection of the owner’s personal practice, or the focuses of the local community. Other times, there can be a reflected air of superiority of one path over others. This is entirely dependent on the individual store.
A big one I’d like to end on; they only host paid classes and services with no way for under-served members of the community to attend or participate. This is made even worse if the events are all over $20. Especially if this store is the only option in your area for these things! Instead of providing a service, they could be focused on cornering the market.
A quick Green Flag for some positivity, the presence of the owners or staff’s personal practice! I love being able to ask for insight from the source, I love being able to buy someone’s personal oil blends, I love learning more about things I may not have thought about because I’m not walking that path myself. Staff that want to chat and help can be so nice and really add to a welcoming environment.
Supporting small businesses is so important, and they can really be cornerstones of our community, but we need to be able to see the difference between someone passionate about providing resources and space to a community, and others that are looking to make a quick buck off of people starving for that. We as consumers need to hold our communities to some kind of standard, and I for one find that my standard is a certain level of authenticity. Not everyone selling metaphysical tools and supplies is trying to scam someone, but there are bad actors everywhere. Educate yourself, keep your eyes open, and don’t be afraid to ask yourself what someone’s motivations are.

Name: Gamyga Debut: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Hey! I want a turn on the "talking about Subspace Freaks"! Gimme! Gimme! Subspace was like, one of my formative Weird Enemy Experiences! How have I NOT talked about any of these guys yet?!
Gamyga has always been one of my favorite Subspace Emissary enemies, and you wanna know why? It's because I have good taste, that's why! I mean, this is a really visually striking design, if you ask me. The trophy description it has in Brawl describes it as looking "like an avant-garde work of art from some young art-school grad." That's awesome. You KNOW I love things that are weird and abstract and artsy and pretentious! Gamyga is right up my alley!
I'd say this enemy was made for me, but it was more-so made for the purpose of having a really tall enemy that can serve as a road block that can shoot lasers at you from above while you take it apart piece by piece... That is, unless you are brave enough to take out the mask first and watch the whole thing fall apart all at once!
Of course Mod Hooligon likes the abstract, multi-segmented enemy that you can slowly dismantle or alternatively attack the head of to deal with it instantly. So what? I have a type! Don't judge me! I see no difference, love is love!
Tumblr media
As I said, this thing is tall, which probably adds to the visual-strikingness, especially when combined with the fact it pops out of the ground without warning when you get near it! No wonder this thing left such an impression on me. I mean, imagine if you were just taking a stroll in the park when this thing appeared in front of you without warning! How would you feel? Gamyga Jumpscared? Or perhaps Gamyga Pleasantly Surprised...?
Well, no, you would feel "in pain" on account of the Gamyga Laser Blasts.
Sometimes, springs or platforms will be placed nearby that let you jump over Gamyga, or alternatively you'll be playing as a character like Kirby or Pit who can just fly over it. Otherwise though, this thing is going to block your path and soak up a ton of damage. But hey, if it's gonna do that, it may as well look good while doing so!
Tumblr media
Man, I spent so long talking about the Whole Enchilada that I haven't even gotten around to talking about the Gamyga Bases on their own! That's right! With every Gamyga, you get Five Guys for the price of one, with One (1) mask and four of These Things! Could a Gamyga be considered a form of colonial organism like a siphonophore...? You don't need to sell me on this thing any more than you already have!
Though maybe it'd be better to analyze these as being something mechanical, given their stiff movements, and how every time they wiggle their arms, it sounds like someone moving a pinball flipper. I almost feel this design would be more interesting if it was biological, but there's something enticing about describing these things as being like "a robotic siphonophore". I honestly don't know which interpretation appeals to me more.
The posing of the arms and the hollow facial features almost remind me of the haniwa statues Gyroids are modeled after, but the presence of pupils and Teeth here makes them look considerably freakier, which as far as I'm concerned is only a good thing. Watch out! Gamyga Base can BITE YOU! Not in the game, mind you. I'm talking about real life.
Tumblr media
Gamyga was one of the Subspace enemies they decided to give a trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, for some reason. It's not in Smash Run at all, so I guess whoever was deciding on what things to include as trophies in this game just believed Gamyga was an absolutely vital part of Nintendo history that people needed to be aware of.
They were right, for the record.

I return to WHB Tumblr to see how the game us doing and I see the fandom in shambles, damn. And after scrolling through the tag for a bit, I have...questions.
Yo how big is WHB now even? I stopped playing shortly after they introduced the paywalled Gabriel and that's one of the things I've seen several people complain about...
Like I understand the rest of the complaints - it's mostly the same complaints I've been having about the game prior to me quitting. Multiple decisions that seem to reinforce the idea that this game is heading down the P2W path, very anti-F2P practices in general, outrageous prices for the paid Nightmare Pass, no pity system on launch, the disaster that was the implementation of the Solomon's Seals gacha, the many bugs on launch especially, the small amount of farmable premium currency, and the list goes on...the pancake shop rework not only seems to be in line with the trajectory PB seems to be taking in terms of game decisions, but is also the straw that broke the camel's back for a lot of players.
But, uh, storage? Wasn't it like 2 GB tops on launch? That was reasonable I think, because Arknights was around that size on launch and back then, there was so little additional content. Only JP dubbing, no L2D E2 art or skins (the only L2D we had back then was Closure, the SHOPKEEP), 5 story chapters (which translated to 92 stages, in which around half have a Challenge Mode variant and with a large majority being unique maps), and no additional game modes.
For additional context, currently Arknights is ~6-7 GB on a fresh account with all language dubbing, and it gets bloated if you don't delete unused event data (it's ~9.7 GB for me and I have Arknights on my current phone ever since Near Light first hit Global, so just over 2 years now). Keep in mind Arknights is close to 4.5 years old in Global, and CN just celebrated their 5th anniversary a few months back.
Talking about storage, I don't think comparing WHB to older games and non-tower defense is fair either, since:
Older games in general are much easier on your device in terms of storage to content ratio and performance, mostly due to device limitations of the past requiring less sophisticated game mechanics and the devs sticking to these simpler mechanics even as time passes and technology gets more advanced. Gentle reminder that FGO is ~7 years old in NA, ~9 years old in JP, and ALSO doesn't download everything initially - afaik there's an option for that in the settings menu which bumps the total size up significantly (the wiki lists it as around 9-10 GB total).
Different genres and graphics mean different storage requirements. Anything 3D or open world will almost always have higher storage requirements compared to anything else. Path to Nowhere is around the same size as Arknights despite being younger due to the former using 3D models for their battle sprites, compared to the 2D chibis Arknights uses. Love and Deepspace, a ~5 months game, is huge because of how they do the cutscenes AND the stage-based action gameplay, but Wuthering Waves is closing the gap on size quickly despite being only ~1.5 months because it's an open world action RPG.
What I will say, though, is that WHB is not optimized well. Now I may be very unfair by comparing WHB to Punishing: Gray Raven, a game by the optimization gods known as Kurogames (people ran the PC PGR client on 2GB RAM laptops and my 4GB RAM laptop can run WuWa despite it using UE4 - an engine notorious for chugging on low end devices - albeit with lag spikes in the open world map), but when a 2D tower defense game fails to run as smoothly as a 3D action game with stylish and fast-paced combat, then we have a problem. For context, my 4GB RAM phone only has minor lag when I use a skill that has a lot of visual effects like Lee Hyperreal's Hypermatrix, but back when I played WHB I still experienced lag spikes when deploying units.
Again this all boils down to PB just not being used to the game format. Which is all well and good, Arknights was a huge departure from Girls Frontline too - a good portion of Arknights' devs worked on Girls Frontline before splitting off to work on Arknights. But what made Arknights succeed is how accessible and F2P friendly the game was, with smooth and solid gameplay as well as an engaging plot that discusses themes such as racism, discrimination, and the fragility of hope.
Of course you can argue that Arknights is a tower defense first, visual novel second. Unlike WHB, which is an otome game first, tower defense second. And I would agree, but only to a certain extent. Once you step into the realm of having Actual Combat Gameplay Elements then I believe it's your duty to make progression as reasonable as possible. Including a power gate is fine, but nothing too excessive - and certainly do not hold any significantly strong unit behind a paywall.
Because fun fact - in Arknights' entire runtime, there were only a handful of completely paywalled content:
Player icons from promotional packs for large events, particularly the Ambience Synesthesia concerts
Character skins from promotional packs, like the Exusiai and Guard Ch'en skins during the anime release
Purestream, a B4 Therapist Medic who was released as a WWF collab, where all sales from her $1 pack were donated to the WWF. Even then, she eventually became available for everyone, as she was later added to the Recruitment pool (use a resource obtained from Dailies for a chance to get units, some unique to the pool like Purestream). She was a decent healer, and her Module made her a good budget medic. Even then you're more likely using the Medics you've already built by then - for B4 budget options, Perfumer is usually better for multi-target healing and a party HP regen passive, while Sussurro is your go-to for strong single-target healing.
And guess what? None of these had any direct impact on gameplay during their paywalled period. Purestream wasn't even a B5 or B6 unit, yo. There are many better options for healers. I STILL USE THE B3 ANSEL AND HIBISCUS IN INTEGRATED STRATEGIES.
I'm just...PB's choices baffle me, and I do wish they can improve not just on the game performance standpoint, but in how they treat their playerbase in terms of in-game purchases. I hope I made that abundantly clear...

Both titles will be released digitally on March 6, 2025 in Japan and Asia, with the PC version being published by Spike Chunsoft. A “Ever 17 / Never 7 Double Pack” for Switch will also be available, which includes both games on one cartridge. It will support English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinees language options (in Asia, at least).
The “Ever 17 / Never 7 Double Pack” will be available in standard and limited editions. The standard edition will be priced at 7,480 yen, while the limited edition will cost 9,680 yen. The latter includes the “Ever 17 / Never 7 Sound Collection” DVD-ROM, which features 31 songs from Ever 17: The Out of Infinity and 24 songs from Never 7: The End of Infinity, which can be extracted as mp3 and FLAC files.
Ever 17: The Out of Infinity
About
Ever 17: The Out of Infinity is the second original entry in the Infinity series, first released by KID in 2002. In 2011, MAGES. released a “remake version” for the Xbox 360, featuring fully 3D characters, new scenarios, and updated graphics. The “remastered version” retains the 2D character expressions from the original game, while rebuilding the outfits and opening movie from the remake in 2D. Additionally, the new scenarios elements introduced in the remake have been incorporated, making this the definitive edition of Ever17 The game is a suspense-filled visual novel told from the perspectives of two protagonists. Seven individuals find themselves trapped in the an underwater theme park called “LeMU.” At the beginning of the game, the player selects either college student Takeshi Kuranari or a boy with amnesia, then progresses through the story from that character’s point of view. By allowing the player to choose between two protagonists, the game offers a multifaceted view of the same story, enabling deeper immersion. What “true secret” will these two perspectives reveal? Discover the answer as you dive into the game’s world through its suspenseful story.
Story
Spring 2017. Takeshi Kuranari, an ordinary college student, visits the underwater theme park “LeMU,” where he becomes involved in an accident and ends up trapped there. “Sora,” the only remaining system operator, announces that there is a limited time before LeMU collapses under the water pressure. 170 hours and 17 minutes. With rescue seeming hopeless, Takeshi, along with a mysterious girl named Tsugumi and the park guide Yuu, wanders through LeMU in search of a way to escape to the surface. A theme park of hopes and dreams, submerged at the bottom of a mysterious blue ocean. Do any of those hopes and dreams still remain? Or is there another mystery yet to be uncovered? The answer lies with “you.”
Never 7: The End of Infinity (2025)
About
Never 7: The End of Infinity is a high-definition remastered version of the 2000-released title of the same name, released as the complete edition of the original Infinity game. At the time, romance visual novels were at their peak, and the game garnered attention for its unique setting, story gimmicks, and its incorporation of rich mystery and suspense elements. This success led to its establishment as the first entry in the Infinity series, a science-fiction suspense franchise that features “time loop” elements in its storytelling. The player assumes the role of protagonist Makoto Ishihara, advancing the story through dialogue and decision-making. Makoto, a third-year college student, arrives on a secluded island in the southern seas for a seminar training camp, where he becomes involved in a hapless fate during what was supposed to be an ordinary seven-day trip. Knowing that tragedy awaits and the seventh day will never arrive, the player’s goal is to uncover the mysteries and escape the doomed cycle by solving the puzzle of Makoto’s fate.
Story
On the morning of April 1, 2019, protagonist Makoto Ishihara experiences the worst awakening of his life. He dreams of “a girl tragically dying right before his eyes.” The protagonist Makoto is on a secluded island in the southern seas for a seminar training camp. The seminar training camp, in the simple joy of everyday life, should have ended peacefully… But then came the fateful day of April 6…. On that day, “anxiety” turns to “despair,” and “premonition” turns to “tragedy.” The morning of the seventh day, which will never come. By relying on the memories that remain, Makoto works prevent the tragedy to reveal “all the mysteries.” End the eternal sorrow. This is a science-fiction suspense romance visual novel where players must escape a time loop, and where various emotions and destinies intricately intertwine. Watch the opening movie for each game below. Visit the Infinity remaster series official website here.

Average Rose Lalonde Behavior
(page 862-870)
Tumblr media
I’m not saying I like Rose better than John, but Rose definitely has the cooler story right now, so I’m glad to be hanging out with her in this super cool lab which may or may not be part of her house. I thought she picked up Jaspers’ corpse because she wanted to prototype her sprite with him – the ‘dark twisting path to necromancy’ she mentions on p.440. But she doesn’t seem upset when she accidentally throws him onto the transportalizer. ‘Oh well. Ashes to ashes you guess.’ (p.863) is reminiscent of ‘I would describe my feelings toward the animal as lukewarm’ (p.442), but could also be more of a ‘I don’t have time to deal with this on top of the other 413 things I’m dealing with’.
But hey. Where did that cat go?? Is Jade going to go outside and there’s just a transportalizer there with a dead cat? Will there be a twist where it’s Jade who prototypes Jaspers, not Rose? The similar technology makes me suspect their locations are linked, as does the ‘UNESTABLISHED IN’ countdown timer. Jade growing up with this timer would explain how she knows today is ‘the big day’ (p.838).
Rose of course enters the lab 4:13 minutes before Skaianet Laboratory is unestablished, which could mean ‘destroyed’ (by a meteor, perhaps) or could mean ‘shut down, power turned off’ and either way, Rose doesn’t have much time. It feels soon to see this timer and could mean this is a short act, or could mean there will be a lot of cutting back and forth between characters. But either way I think Rose getting into the Medium in three minutes having not even connected with a server player yet is a tall order. She might end up just moving to increasingly strange locations while she waits.
It’s very funny that Rose ‘I think trees are elegant’ Lalonde has been using trees wrong for the entirety of her fetch modus career. ‘Root’ even being an option is like sorting price from high to low, it’s a totally unnecessary function that makes everything worse. I love on page 868 where Rose captchalogues the hub while still holding her laptop, and there’s a cable leading into her sylladex – I am contorting my understanding of 3D space to process this but it’s a cool moment, I really like the reminder that this compression of space is normal for these kids, and it’s a cool visual when the connected cards shuffle around each other.
The hub also has a very pleasing design. It’s green and square and has lights and buttons. Undeniably a piece of science technology.
PM was an absolute beast with that sword and beheaded that giant mailbox eating worm like it was NOTHING. They’re also far more adept with the bunker terminal controls than WV. From a story perspective, it works that the bunker’s countdown and >HOME command were a big deal and a story-expanding moment in act 2, but now those mechanisms are established, it’s all pushed into simpler images in an external page that indicate ‘the same thing happens’. That’s helpful if a story is going to use a lot of patterns and repetition.
Mailboxes are not cans but I think there could be a place for them in Can Town, when WV and PM presumably meet up on Jade’s island. PM’s sword could probably open a can and the two of them can share in BEETS and MAYO. PM will love WV’s trusty knife. And maybe they can look at that mysterious undelivered letter that’s visible in one of PM’s mailboxes….

As the resident ITA hype person, I want to again say: you should listen to Into The Aether, a Lowkey Video Game Podcast.
I have listened to at this point a hundred media/hobby podcasts and dozens of video game-specific podcasts, and ITA is the best one. It's just the best one! I'm so glad to be the person to tell you this.
The entire conceit of ITA is that: this is a podcast that celebrates games and is built on love of games. The hosts only bring games to the show they enjoyed or found interesting. There is zero "let's talk about how bad this game is for 45 minutes."
HOWEVER, and this is the secret sauce of ITA to me, is a focus on positivity does not mean putting on blinders. Brendon and Stephen are super aware of the troubles of the games industry, of the continued crunch on the developers and creators, and... look, sometimes you enjoy a game and bring it to the show but also you can point out when it does something kinda terrible.
That is half of why I love ITA, that it can accentuate the positive without erasing the negative. And this show is like the standard-bearer for "A 6-out-of-10 game is more interesting than a 10-out-of-10 game." These are the guys.
The other reason I love ITA is their focus is timeless. If there is anything ITA should be Known For, it is they will play anything and don't really care about release calendars. Yeah, they will play the Big Event Games when they come out, like Elden Ring or TOTK or whatever, but they have a MASSIVE focus on older systems and older games.
To that end: their Season Four premiere episode was a full retrospective on the Game Boy Advance and its entire library. Since then, they have continued this tradition, spending months playing through the catalog of a single console and then opening each season with a huge episode focused just on that console. To date, they have done Game Boy Advanced, Nintendo DS, Sega Dreamcast, and today the Nintendo Gamecube.
(They also have a patrons-only retrospective on the Nintendo 3DS which IS worth the price of admissions, I promise.)
There's a lot of other reasons to love ITA.
The hosts are very conscious of burnout and their mental health and have now made it a tradition to take a few weeks off in the summertime before the season premieres. This last Summer Vacation, they did a special set of episodes hosted by their fabulous producer AJ in which they invited people onto the show to discuss different aspects of the games industry and those episodes were FASCINATING and excellent.
Stephen is a hardcore Theatre Kid Soul (who didn't get to do much Theatre, long story) and has the weirdest outbursts and bits that have had me in stitches.
Brendon has, over the course of ITA, gone from a person who doesn't like RPGs into a massive RPG fan, and watching that journey happen is really nice.
They explicitly will give games a second chance; they both bounced off Golden Sun during their GBA Retrospective and have been recently replaying it and enjoying it much more.
The original pitch of the podcast was "Stephen and Brendon try not to talk about The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind." The frequency at which they fail this is amazing.
They are currently trying to get into visual novels/dating sims and are huge fans of Tokimeki Memorial. The confidence with which Brendon can drop "Boku No Natsuyasumi" in conversation is Indicative of something. IYKYK.
Due to the lack of focus on what's Hip And Recent, the episodes have an uncommonly timeless feeling. Diving into the backlog is really fun.
The Season Seven Premiere is over the Nintendo Gamecube. It's a great place to start. I will also just list a few episodes I love off the dome.
Pokémon Crystal Bonus: as someone who has always loved Silver/Gold without having the language for why, this episode helped nailed down why. HUGE fan.
Berethor & NotGimli Are Dead: THE STORY OF THE LOTR GAME IS JUST GREAT.
Pretty Good Statham: FINALLY someone talking about the Playdate, yessss
Pigma's Allegory of the Cave: just an average episode but I remember really loving the Tetris Effect/REZ discussion.
X-Strike Summer 1: Break Glass in Case of Bandicoot: the first of the guest episodes that features a group of people with very different jobs in the games industry and have VERY interesting perspectives. HUGELY rec.
An Introduction to the Sega Dreamcast: Originally a patron-only episode but I was one of many ppl who yelled "PUT IT ON THE MAIN FEED" and you're all welcome! This episode features guest star Chris Plante (Polygon EIC) guiding the boys through the history of the Dreamcast. It's both a fascinating piece of history and also has a Plot Twist that uh. It... made me cry? Yeah.
I could keep scrolling back more but I think you all get the picture. ITA is the best game podcast. Please give it a shot.

Sony Aibo on Science et Vie Micro Issue 179 (02-2000)
Translation in English:
Japanese convergence
Twice this year, Sony has marketed its robotic Aibo, a luxurious toy for spoiled children. But the beast could soon change its vocation.
In two, even three years, Aibo, man's best cybernetic friend, could make friends with the Playstation 2! If, currently, the Aibo mainly resembles a gadget for privileged wealthy people, and which we tire of relatively quickly, Sony has other ambitions for future models. His project, in addition to a more affordable price, aims to develop an interface that would allow you to connect your Aibo to another of its great successes: its Playstation game console. Rather clever: with nearly 40% of Sony's profits in 1998 coming from the division which takes care of the video games activity (SCE), the Playstation has become a major business for the Japanese electronics giant.
Aibo on Playstation The Playstation 2 is announced commercially in Japan from March. This new version of the first game console is already making many people dream: not only does it have exceptional computing power, but it is also equipped with sophisticated connectivity. The public's reception promises to be enthusiastic, so this should make it the ideal platform for the Aibo! The latter currently uses an 8 or 32 MB Memory Stick to store its programmed behaviors. Thanks to a remote control which emits sound signals, it is possible to transmit a few simple orders. The next generations should of course go further. Among other things, it would be possible to download a program or a series of instructions created on Playstation 2 directly into the beast.
A multitude of possible applications can be envisaged. For example, an introduction to programming, inspired by the Logo language for children: but instead of moving a "turtle" in the two-dimensional space of a computer screen, it would be the robot that would follow the programmed path.
Another possible application: a "player" could program a route or a mission (forbidding "intruders" from his room, checking the presence in a given place of a person whose "visual signature" or "voice print" the Aibo knows), or even a joust with a friend's Aibo (race, jumping competition or other free figures…). All this could even be accomplished via a virtual Aibo that you move around with the joystick like in some kind of video game, rather than entering lines of code or macros. Once the room had been simply modeled in 3D using primitives (cubes, cylinders, etc.), the virtual robot would then have to be moved around this 3D world, an exact copy of the house, before the Aibo could actually perform the maneuver.

Games to use for face claim + designing dr houses, waiting room, etc
Life Simulation are great to well…simulate your dr and offer visuals for your shifiting script. I did a post like this in the past, it was one of my very first one, so I thought I would update it.
Tumblr media
-Inzoi
I just tried it and it’s kind of what prompted this post. it’s great, more on the hyper realistic side, except the eyebrows colour on the female character wouldn’t change colour in my game but for the male model, it was working fine ? I have no idea how it works, but this is just a demo, not the final game. For some reason I couldn’t change the features on the child model either, I tried to do my younger siblings and nothing was moving.
The different life stages are here (no teens and no toddlers though but there are three adult life stages) and i thought the elderly looked really great. I definitely encourage you to try while the demo is on. You can see below my attempt at my dr Dad and grandma (I did try to do me, but the dark eyebrows are throwing me off, especially because I have close to no eyebrows irl)
The demo is just the character creation but I think the build mode for apartment and house might just dethrone the sims 4 for me. Although i love making fantasy houses with the sims so maybe not.
But I saw a video about the build mode and apparently you will have the ability to scan in 3D objects in your house and put them in the game, which sounds absolutely crazy !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I will also just mention paralives here, who looks interesting especially the building mode, but it’s not out yet when I’m writing this.
Tumblr media
- the sims 4
As long as you are ok with the cartoonish style, I think it’s still a good option. Especially since mods exist and there is a way to make your sims look hyper realistic with them. Normally I don’t like alpha ccs personally , but If the goal is to make a face claim/ body claim and you don’t care your sim looks off with the rest of the game, why not?
I love building in the sims 4, i didn’t build anything in a while though. I always recommend downloading the base game since it’s free and download cc, there are tons of good one. The expansion packs are so expensive and often not worth the full price imo, especially if you’re like me and not really interested in playing in life mode.
I do think it’s a fun way to channel your dr though, by seeing how your dr sims interact with each other ( I did it for a little bit, got a lot of unexpected things happening)
Tumblr media
- Life Makeover
The game is free, as long as you’re not weak with gacha games. I don’t spend too much, because I feel like there is enough possibilities with the outfits you gain by playing, so I’m fine not finishing limited sets. The last mermaid set was a close one, ngl but the universe heard my prayers and I got the mermaid tail with the gems I already had, so I’m not paying to pull more.
Anyway, the character creation is the best one I know. The style is in between realism and cartoony. My profile picture is made with that game. Bigger, animated like eyes look better on the character in my opinion, but I definitely saw very realistic looking characters made by people more talented than me lol. It’s one of the only game I own where I can make myself pointy elf ears and it’s very important to me lol.
Only down side for face claim is there is no male model. Then again, there is always way to work around it by making the character look more androgynous (kind of unrelated but I think there would be a market for male dress up games, they should think about it)
The big plus though is to get inspiration for your dr wardrobe ! I might have spent a whole day screenshotting my favourites piece of clothes + styling some outfits to put into my script 😂
I think it’s especially great for idol / K-pop or even celebrity dr with the style of the outfits, there is also things that would work for a fantasy/royalty dr.
Since I am talking about my addiction for dress up games once again, for fantasy outfits I also use Shining Nikki, but it doesn’t have a character creation which is why it’s not officially on this list.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Life makeover on the right, Shining Nikki on the left
Surprisingly, there is also a house building mode, which looks really great imo but definitely more limited than the sims (doing cool roofing is a nightmare in this game because the roof doesn’t disappear inside a room like it does in the sims 🥲) . Here is one of my waiting room as an exemple, my mermaid retreat:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Baldur gates
Now, I’m starting with games I haven’t tried yet. Baldur gates is on my list but I’m waiting to have money to spend for it, and to have time to spend hours obsessing over a new game, which I don’t really have either right now 😂
The character creator looks incredible for fantasy drs. This is the kind of game where you spend a whole day in the character creator before you actually play.
literally any fantasy races you could think of is there, I think there are mods that add more too. I love how versatile it looks, there are a lot of skin tones, horns, lizards guys (I’m not familiar with dnd races, I’m sorry) I saw wings too but that might have been mod
- Once human
I found about this game in this post from @elizabethhearts-shifts : https://www.tumblr.com/elizabethhearts-shifts/758372410780221440/once-human-for-face-claims-hey-shifters-i
I don’t have a computer, don’t have the money for the kind I would need, the steam deck was a much more affordable option for my games, but unfortunately the steam deck doesn’t take in charge this particular game, I don’t really know why, it wouldn’t even let me try to download it anyway, like I had to do with Inzoi.
In any case, you can see the face claim of Elizabeth on her post, and it looks incredible so I still wanted to include it in the list ^^
Tumblr media
I realise this is a post for the gamer shifters x)
Personally, Pinterest is not enough for me. I think it’s my autistic brain but I need to have a clear idea of the space I live in my drs, and find that having a 3D representation of the space really helps. When I get into meditation, I then get very real images about my drs in those spaces. Same goes for people, I create a representation and then can get vivid images about them in my head.
So as usual, I hope this helps and inspire,
Happy shifting 🧚🏻‍♀️
