Hi! Would it be possible to expand the ownable tech mod to vehicles?

It's pretty annoying when other sims from your family use the car that you want to tie to a specific sim.

I know you can just put it in inventory or give everyone vehicles but that's not realistic imo 😅

It is annoying, isn't it? I was just thinking that today when my teen sim stole his father's motorbike.

In terms of expanding the ownable tech mod, I'm sure it is possible, however I don't think that's something I'll be adding. I've temporarily removed monopatcher and all monopatcher mods currently, so even if I wanted to expand the mod, I can't right now. :(

There's something I miss so much in The Sims 3, and that's the romantic table interactions during a date from The Sims 2. I remember being able to chat, toast, compliment, hold hands, and even feed a bite 😍. Do you think you could make a similar mood someday? Many of us would love it!❤️

Having that in TS3 would be so cool! I was thinking about adding these types of interactions to the Restaurant mod but it's a bit easier said than done (for me, at least). If I had more experience with seated animations, and if I could find a corresponding TS4 animation to convert, I definitely would. But right now, I think it's a bit beyond me!

I know Savanita is still working on new Romantic interactions, so there's a chance she might include something similar in her mod though. Hopefully!

Better Restaurants Mod - DOWNLOAD

New and shiny restaurants have made their way to TS3! Taking your sim out to eat (or ordering in) is now much more exciting!

Get Started

Buy a restaurant oven and set up shop.

Create shifts, choose working days, wages, uniforms, and hire employees from around town.

Employee Roles

Hire employees and choose any combination of roles for them to fulfil. You can run a restaurant, or a bar, or both!

Choose from:

Chef,

Waiter,

Greeter,

Bartender

Don't worry if you can't fill all the roles. Where there is a sim missing, the existing employees will pick up the slack depending on their own assigned jobs. For example: chefs will take on waiter jobs when there are no waiters or greeters. Greeters will take on waiter jobs when there are no waiters.

Dine In

Take your sim out solo or in groups.

If there's a worker at the podium, you can be seated according to availability (you can also ask about the menu and see how expensive things are if you want).

You'll also see NPCs dining. They'll join the podium queue, just like your active sim. If they have friends on the lot, they may automatically eat together.

If there's no podium, or greeter, sims can order direct from the menu.

Delivery Options

Sims can order delivery from any open restaurant in town. The restaurant owner will receive all the money for this (except for delivery fees).

Or, if there's nothing open yet, order a Chinese takeaway instead.

Restaurant Management

The level of restaurant management is up to you. The more restaurant items you add to the lot, the more you'll have to account for the business finances.

Keep track of your costs and pray you can make a profit!

There are some optional features when it comes to financial management.

Buy a restaurant fridge: then it will cost your sim money to make food unless you keep the fridge stocked.

Buy a bar and hire a bartender: then it will cost your sim money to make drinks, but the restaurant will also keep the earnings.

Pay for advertising: hopefully the extra foot traffic makes up for the fee.

Hello! I'm doing well, thanks. I hope you're good too?

You will need this mod: olomaya's mod playground : Religion for Sims (v.1.0).

Once you have purchased the relevant worship object, set up your club so that sims can pray. Then they will be pushed to do so during club hours (as long as they meet the requirements to be able to do the interaction).

Restaurant Mod WIP

I've been thinking of making this mod for a long time now.

The business as usual oven is alright, but it's lacking some of the things that I really want in a restaurant. So, in true Phoebe style - I've made my take on it!

Of course, this is heavily inspired by Ani's Business as Unusual Oven, Sims 2 OFB, and Sims 4 Dine Out!

I wanted to expand the flexibility of working at a restaurant so there are new roles, including being a chef, a waiter, a greeter, and a bartender.

Bartender was a last minute addition but I really wanted a way for active sims to moonlight at bars without me having to direct them. Technically, this should mean you could run a bar instead of a restaurant too...

Dining out with groups, or with a date, is made easier as you can be auto-seated at an appropriate table.

Sims won't autonomously make themselves broke by trying to order food that they can't afford.

And there is slightly more depth to if a sim enjoys their dining experience and the benefits of that (though this only really involves tipping rn so is pretty surface level).

Business management is almost the same as in my Boutique mod however I've handled bosses working much better. Your sim can own multiple restaurants without actually working there as an employee - you can also set the owner as an employee if you DO want them to work.

You can set shifts, days off, work outfits, wages, all that normal stuff.

As much as I wanted to revamp a bunch of animations too, if it ain't broke...

Anyway, as you can see from the mish-mash of pictures, as few as they are, I've started testing this in my main world which means unless I have another last minute spark of inspiration, we should be pretty close to the mod being released!

Apologies in advance to those who have been waiting a while for a response!

@lumi-cosmonaut hello! So, when you right click on the Tuning XML inside the package, do you see 'Notepad' at the bottom of the drop down? That's the way I've always edited tunings. If not, try exporting the XML first and then opening it with a text editor. You can import it again to the package once you've made your edits.

lovely @sushiikinsss! Thank you for the idea. Right now, I don't have a need for that in my game, so my interest is limited. But I might have some interest in this in the future (unless someone else gets to this first!) I wonder if Olomaya's Private Clinic therapist could work to help sims with drug/alcohol related moodlets. Might be worth testing

thank you kalque! I suppose you could set the club hours to run for 23 hours, for however many consecutive days the camp is active for. But I don't know exactly how that would function in actuality. This will probably be something where you have to test out various methods and see which one works best! :) It's been a while since you asked this, so hopefully you managed to find a good solution.

hellooo @ladymudcrab! I hope you are doing good too :) I'm really glad you like my mods. I also can't remember if I answered this question somewhere else so please forgive me. But, as I don't play with occults, they're pretty much always an afterthought for me. I don't know what half of them even do. That's why you don't see many interactions for them. However, I will keep this in mind when I next update the social clubs mod.

@murkoose did I answer this on another platform? I really cant remember! Sorry! Just in case I haven't, to answer: yes, as I only play rotationally I was really only catering for myself when I set up how the mod will work. I don't believe I made it possible to fully go through the whole buying and selling process one-sided :/

hello! I'm so sorry, I'm not sure why this would be happening. It's hard to troubleshoot when I can't replicate the issue. Have you tried running the interaction in a fresh save to see if the issue persists? It's likely it could be sim or world related?

Let's Get Drunk - Mod Download

Introducing 3 different types of beverages: alcohol, non-alcoholic juice, and tap water!

Full documentation is included in the download!

Alcohol

Purchase from the grocery store, buy mode, or from Alcohol Racks on community lots. There are up to 7 different alcohol glasses that may be used depending on the setting/occasion. There's also a champagne bucket that only serves champagne!

By default: drinking nectar, from a professional bar, playing juice pong, and drinking from a juice keg also count as drinking alcohol. This is tuneable.

Most sims will become drunk after drinking around 4 cups, however this can fluctuate depending on if your sim is a lightweight (or an alcoholic), or if they are out clubbing.

Drunken Behaviour

There are 6 different types of drunks. Traits and buffs affect how sims will act when intoxicated. Whether it's picking fights, streaking, having giggle fits, or falling flat on their faces, there's something unique for everyone.

Drinking is social behaviour so most of the fun will be seen when drinking in groups.

Benefits:

Sims can be more successful at various social interactions

Non-violent drunks will be less angry

Drunk sims are less exhausted

Sims may lose all sense of embarrassment (and morals)

Drawbacks:

Excessive drinking increases the risk of addiction, poisoning, fainting and vomiting

Underage drinkers may be punished

Going to work or school drunk can lead to dire consequences

Drunk driving or travelling abroad while drunk may lead to fines, or a police visit

There are many other effects besides the few mentioned above.

Social Interactions:

There are 10 new unique social interactions, including: ramble incoherently, drunk tease, shove, spill soul, and show off guns. All with TS4 animations I converted!

Hangovers

Hangovers don't come on immediately after a sim finishes being drunk, and the intensity, length and symptom frequency depends on how well the sim looks after them self before and after. Things like napping, drinking water, and eating certain food will reduce hangover severity.

Addiction

A sim's propensity for addiction depends on how much they drink (a lot), their traits, and if there is a history of addiction in their family. Addiction has the ability to become fatal.

It can be disabled in the tuning.

Juice

Juice can likewise be purchased from the supermarket & buy mode. There are 3 different types of cups that may be used. Toddlers can also be given juice.

Benefits:

Blocks 'too spicy' buff

Increases children's party score

May increase the intensity of drunk buff

Drawbacks:

Can give sim's toothaches if they already have a sugar high

Water

Water can be drunk from the kitchen sink (any room with a fridge or stove)

Benefits:

May reduce hangover length

Reduces sims temperature

Because there are new romantic interactions, Nraas woohooer may generate a script log when loading the game. It's not actually an error so can be discarded. (The documentation includes a way to stop this though)

All new objects are unique so shouldn't be conflicts.

Functional Boards! (Masterlist)

I built a community centre to have sims meet and hang out, but most importantly, to get information of events around the town. There are some good noticeboards from mods that do exactly that, so I'll be placing them on the walls of my centre! I'll also be placing them on other lots too!

@phoebejaysims says there should be a list of functional boards as there are quite a few, so here it is! 😄 I've included their scripts too, so if you decide to use other custom decor boards, you can switch out their scripts with these ones using S3pe or Transmogrifier :) (You can place these notices anywhere you want, even at the sims homes, I just list where I place mine for some ideas. 😊)

WIP - Alcohol Mod (+ mini Tillage Update!)

To make a long story short, I had to restart my current world, Tillage, because I was trying to uninstall a mod but it couldn't be done safely and was spurting out so many script errors and lagging my game etc etc. So, I have all new sims living in Tillage!

The last family in my rotation were who I made the taxes and benefits mod for, and this current family has sparked this new mod.

What's the point of having a liquor shelf, when the only liquor isn't even drinkable because it has the Hobo Script OBJK attached? I haven't had that mod installed for years!

Not only is there alcohol, complete with different glasses depending on the occasion...

There's also fruit juice, that even toddlers can enjoy...

And water, straight from the kitchen tap.

So there's something for everyone (except babies!).

Drunk sims may act differently depending on their current traits/buffs. Hangovers creep up on sims and the symptoms can be lessened/managed through certain activities. Binge drinking is a thing, and can have consequences.

I even made a custom commodity/motive so that sims may be pushed to do certain drunken activities autonomously.

This mod has been a bit difficult because I really hate working with props + converting animations means finding appropriate voice files, and making jazz scrips and whatnot.

This mod really isn't perfect however, I'm like 85% finished and it's finally completely stable!

I have taken requests in the past but I've done it selectively because modding can take a lot of time and energy. I don't currently have a lot of free modding time outside of my own projects (of which I currently have too many lol).

However, somebody else actually has come to me with this idea and I've seen a few other simmers brainstorming along these lines.

So, even though I won't be able to take on this project, there's a good chance something like this will be made sooner or later :)

Taxes & Benefits Mod + New Active Career - DOWNLOAD

One of my sims was earning a little too much money and somehow this spiralled into me developing this mod. Introducing a very configurable tax and benefit system alongside an all new active career!

The tax and benefit system is modelled after the system we have here in England. All tax and benefit options are configurable and sims will only be opted in if you want them to. See the included documentation for a proper feature breakdown.

There are three types of taxes:

Council Tax (a property tax)

Business Tax

National Insurance (an income tax)

Register sims for each type of tax through the city hall.

There are four types of benefits:

Universal Credit

Housing Benefit

Child Benefit

Job Seekers Allowance

Register sims online, through social interactions with the all new Civil Servant, or at a HSRC communications booth.

Civil Service Career

Work for the HSRC in this fully functional active career.

There are 36 jobs which can be completed: 27 are custom career opportunities (like in the private eye career), 9 of them are custom active jobs (like in the interior decorator or firefighter career).

Jobs include: checking benefit eligibility for sims around town, attending job fairs, auditing, community outreach, responding to council house repair requests, and things of that nature.

Communication Booth

Civil Servants are given communication booths which can be placed anywhere in the world. This object has 2 geostates and can be set up or packed down when not needed.

Council Houses

Properties that are not owned by a sim are council houses. There are some unique interactions for these homes. For one, they can be more susceptible to pests (if enabled in the tuning, that is).

Complain to the Council

Depending on the type of property the sim lives in, they can complain to the council about housing issues such as overcrowding, broken facilities, or vermin.

Social Interactions

There are 12 new social interactions found under Friendly, Funny and Mean.
