WHB as random esports-related moments
So. I have a new obsession right now (League of Legends and Valorant esports), which naturally means I'm brainrotting a lot about them. I've been watching a bit too much of the players, the games, and the streams, and I have an entire list of players and teams I support (very extensive list but Chovy and Oner are pretty much at the top). And ignoring some of the worse things going on in particular (holy fucking shit T1 LoL management + coaches PLEASE get your shit together) pro play is actually Really Cool! That first Gen G vs T1 match this LCK season was so hype it's insane tbh. Same with T1 vs G2 on Masters Bangkok (Valo).
One thing that I've definitely noticed is that a lot of the players are just...really funny and cool people! A lot of them have very clippable moments (looking at you Oner, Doran, ShowMaker, stax, t3xture, and more), plus their team's YouTube accounts and their own personal accounts (if they have one) often do a good job of compiling their moments. So I might be linking some of their vids too ahaha-
Which means...more tier lists, with explanations to boot. Based on vibes too, since it's been a while since I actually caught up on the main story of WHB. Apart from esports, Touhou is a VERY dangerous rabbit hole to enter yo.
Without further ado...
WHB characters' reactions to getting their pentakill stolen
Tumblr media
A bit of context: since League of Legends is a 5v5 team game, one of the most impressive achievements one can get is a pentakill (often shortened to penta) - where someone gets the killing blow on every single member of the enemy team. A penta is 'stolen' when a teammate accidentally lands the killing blow on one member of the enemy team while their teammate is close to a penta (often when they're on their fourth kill).
Tier 1: self-explanatory, and probably the least toxic reaction out of everything else
Tier 2: self-explanatory, I'll let you imagine how bad their plotting gets
Tier 3: the LoL GOAT himself, midlaner Lee "Faker" Sanghyeok of T1 did this during their 2022 LCK Spring season match against KDF, when T1's jungler Mun "Oner" Hyeonjun stole his penta. No damage is done, sure, but still...
youtube
Tier 4: self-explanatory, also another non-toxic reaction
Tier 5: Gen G's ADC/botlaner Park "Ruler" Jaehyeok is INFAMOUS for having his teammates actively aim to steal his pentas and cursing his teammates out when his penta is inevitably stolen. Pretty much a meme now as shown in 2025 LCK Cup Quiz Ep 1, where several players (namely Gen G's toplaner Kim "Kiin" Giin and support Joo "Duro" Minkyu, HLE's ADC/botlaner Park "Viper" Dohyeon, Nongshim's support Son "Lehends" Siwoo, and KT's midlaner Gwak "Bdd" Boseong) had something to say during the question about LCK pentas about his tendency to demand pentas...and their dedication to stealing his pentas.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tier 6: midlaner Son "ucal" Woohyeon of DRX, during the 2025 LCK Cup match against DNF, pretty much fell off his chair after he got his penta stolen and actually fired off a teleport while ON THE FLOOR before getting back up to his chair, all while apologizing.
Tiers 7 and 8: self-explanatory
2. WHB as moments in official LoL and Valo contents
Tumblr media
So. I will preface this by saying that the LCK (Korean League circuit) and VCT Pacific (Asia-Pacific Valorant circuit) have some of the best official content within their reapective esports scenes. Part of this is due to their players being Absolutely Fucking Unhinged, as we will see right here...
Tier 1: the LCK season opening for 2025 is a for-fun tournament (not really because the pride of each role is on the line /j) involving all 10 LCK teams, with teams for the tournament being formed based on the individual players' roles. There are five roles in League, which are Top, Jungle, Mid, ADC/Bot, and Support. Team Mid's leader, Faker, drafted Gen G's midlaner Jeong "Chovy" Jihoon (who's a pretty flexible player known to be good at multiple roles - notably Top), with the translation for his reasoning sounding so incredibly wrong out of context (Faker means to say Chovy was a good toplaner and listens to his shotcalls when they played together on 2024's season opening, which was a similar format to 2025's season opening). Like they HAD to know, right...
Tumblr media
Tier 2: the ZERO/point challenge (VCT Pacific) is a just-for-fun faceoff between two teams where they essentially play with some silly challenges in place, randomly selected using a roulette wheel and only revealed to the other team at the end of the match. T1's Lee "carpe" Jaehyeok's aim with Chamber's skill wasn't the best, and as a result he ended up getting heckled by pretty much everybody (both T1 and Gen G), up until the end of the challenge, which T1 lost.
youtube
Tier 3: Know Your Enemy (VCT Pacific) is a mini-series where players that have something in common are put in a room together to chat and talk. Very chill and wholesome vibes overall. In the Young Guns episode, which involves some of the youngest players in VCT Pacific (and the youngest in their respective teams), DFM's Ibuki "Meiy" Seki reveals that he's a fanboy of DRX's Cho "Flashback" Minhyeok. Meiy requested that Flashback tell him if he ever changes his PC settings, and Flashback promised to tell Meiy about the complete details of his settings after the shoot. And, well, they're all just very sweet and wholesome, with Meiy being just so happy that they had the opportunity to talk like friends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tier 4: Talk-Back Time (LCK) is a mini-series released in 2025 where players new to each team's roster are interviewed with two of their teammates - only possible because for the first time in three years, every single LCK team had a roster change (prior to 2025, T1 had the ZOFGK lineup from 2022 up until 2024). And with Gen G being Gen G, Ruler being a yapper and menace combo, plus Kiin being more or less a tsundere? Chaos, as Ruler and Kiin ended up arguing about the etiquette of eating out with teammates (it makes sense in context) while Chovy closes his eyes as he tries to ignore the argument between Kim "Ruler is Gen G's dog" Giin and Park "Kiin straight-up curses at me now" Jaehyeok. The editors even edited in little Zs on top of Chovy's head!
Tumblr media
Tier 5: Arena: Duo of Destiny (LCK) is a mini-series filmed near the end of 2025's LCK Cup (as in, only the finals between Gen G and HLE left), where eight former pro League players (whose identities were initially kept secret) were randomly paired with representatives of the eight eliminated teams from the 2025 LCK Cup to play the updated Arena mode. After the first match, the former pro players were revealed to the current pro players, with a possibility of having any existing pairs changed for match 2 by correctly guessing who the former pro was. Former pro player and current analyst Shin "Helios" Dongjin got last place while paired with T1's Oner during the first match, so he made a declaration of war against Oner for match 2 while paired with DNF's jungler Hong "Pyosik" Changhyeon.
Tumblr media
Tier 6: the 2024 VCT Pacific Stage 1 teaser essentially had them all in an elevator leading up to the VCT Pacific floor with a brief stop at the Valorant Masters Madrid floor (IT MAKES SENSE IN CONTEXT I SWEAR), and Kim "stax" Gutaek (current T1 player who was playing for DRX at the time) yelling at commentator Clinton "Paperthin" Bader about how he "always goes" during that brief stop at Masters Madrid (DRX always qualifies for Masters). Unfortunately, stax (like at least 50% of VCT Pacific players) has a pretty severe case of ijbol-itis, so there were several outtakes of his ijbol-itis acting up, causing a chain reaction of ijbol-itis moments for EVERYONE (including, but not limited to, TS's Jessie "JessieVash" Cristy, now-former DFM player An "Medusa" Mincheol, and now-former TLN player Peter "Governor" No).
youtube
3. WHB as pro LoL and Valo player's rage and/or toxic moments
Tumblr media
Listen. They're gamers, of course they're going to have toxic moments. Though do note that some players might be more toxic than others and VCT Pacific is generally much more toxic compared to the LCK. It's all in good fun though, because otherwise these clips wouldn't be so widespread.
Tier 1: pretty high tier rage/toxicity, and also one of the quintessential 2HJ moments (LoL). T1's Oner was in a solo queue match with HLE's support Yoo "Delight" Hwanjoong in the opponent's team. Several missed attacks later (which cost him the game), Oner ended up raging so hard he left his chair to yell while punching and kicking the wall behind him. Unfortunately, his toplaner teammate Choi "Doran" Hyeonjoon was in the streaming room right beside Oner's, and his stream picked up Oner's raging. Doran ended up closing the door to his streaming room because of that.
youtube
Tier 2: less toxic and rage, but with an added touch of despair (LoL). The Gen G LoL roster in general had difficulty just getting into a solo queue ranked match in the 2023 off-season (even HLE's current jungler Han "Peanut" Wangho, who was playing for Gen G at the time, mentioned his queue had a 14-minute estimated wait time), so when Chovy finally got a match after a 28-minute wait, he was SO happy despite playing a role he wasn't particularly fond of (ADC/bot). Unfortunately for him, Doran (who was playing for Gen G at the time) was in the same team as Chovy and was forced to play support while he wasn't feeling it, so he dodged the game - much to Chovy's despair. His screaming only came later, after he confronted Doran on-stream for his match dodging. Also, why catdespair? Chovy's often represented with a yellow cat emoji, and just take a look at the thumbnail to this stream moment + his reaction to Doran's match dodging.
youtube
Tier 3: more frustration than anything, honestly (Valo). Gen G's Kim "t3xture" Nara invited his teammates to play 5-stack League of Legends in queue. Unfortunately, these Valorant pros forgot that they were playing League, which led to them entering the fight for the dragon objective essentially one at a time. Byeon "Munchkin" Sangbeom, the In-Game Leader/IGL of Gen G's Valorant team and jungler in this particular League match, ended up yelling out his frustrations at his teammates. They somehow won, which is honestly a wonder considering the dragon was killed by the enemy team. As a fun fact, the roles were as follows - Kim "Karon" Wontae as toplaner, Munchkin as jungler, Kim "Meteor" Tae-oh (playing for Gen G at the time, now playing for T1) as midlaner, t3xture as ADC/botlaner, and Kim "Lakia" Jongmin as support.
youtube
Tier 4: a show of supremacy at the end of the day, perhaps a bit toxic though (VCT). Regardless, it's an iconic quote from T1's Yu "BuZz" Byeongcheol during Masters Bangkok (Valo), who yelled it out while playing against DRX in the loser's bracket. BuZz had been playing with DRX until the end of the 2024 season, where for some reason his contract wasn't renewed for 2025. T1 picked him up and reunited him with his longtime teammate stax, former DRX player whom T1 signed halfway into the 2024 season. DRX prior to this was often known as the best team in Korea and one of the best teams in VCT Pacific, so...
youtube
Tier 5: it's toxic, yes, but oddly...wholesome, somehow, in a sense (VCT)? We welcome PRX, a SEA-based esports organization, and two of their younger members in their Valorant team - Wang "Jinggg" Jing Jie from Singapore and Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto from Indonesia. During PRX's match against DRX in 2024's VCT Pacific Stage 1, f0rsakeN stole Jinggg's Ace (think of an Ace like a penta in League terms), leading to Jinggg complaining to f0rsakeN in Indonesian using those exact words. A rough translation of what Jinggg said is "Bro, my Ace! Fuck you! Ei, you bastard, my Ace!" ('bangsat lu' can be roughly translated as both 'fuck you' and 'you bastard'). Which is doubly hilarious when you realize that it's likely f0rsakeN HIMSELF who taught Jinggg all those curse words (and maybe Aaron "mindfreak" Leonhart as well since he's also Indonesian, but f0rsakeN is more toxic).
youtube
Tier 6: toxicity, followed by self-awareness (Valo). During a week where most of T1's players (in both LoL and Valo) were streaming at T1 HQ, stax was streaming Valorant ranked as a duo with his coach CheongGak, with their first game as a duo being an abject loss. He got so pissed at his other teammates that he ended up yelling incredibly loudly in response to a teammate's missed shots, before realizing just where he was - at T1 HQ, with his streaming room located right beside the much calmer and more soft-spoken Lee "Gumayusi" Minhyung's, ADC/Bot of T1's LoL team. Which is an issue because remember, Oner's raging and wall-punching shenanigans could be heard over in Doran's stream. So stax immediately started apologizing on-stream...

What in Hell is Bad as fighting game archetypes
Backstory time: I recently bought Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and I've been having a ton of fun with it. But, just my luck, the character I want to main (Yosuke Hanamura) isn't particularly beginner-friendly, so I swapped to a more beginner-friendly character (Yu Narukami) to get my bearings first while learning Yosuke's basic combos. Seeing as this already happened to me in several other anime fighters (BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend with Hazama -> Jin Kisaragi and Tsubaki Yayoi, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] with Seth -> Gordeau, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising with Belial -> Gran), I ended up trying to figure out which fighting game archetype suits me the most, and that...led to more WHB brainrot, lmao.
No, seriously, the only games where I stuck with my main ever since first trying them out are Dissidia Duodecim (Zidane Tribal, though I've branched out to Squall Leonhart and Sephiroth) and Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Ness, branching out to Lucas, Luigi, and Lucario).
So! Just a quick disclaimer, a lot of fighting game characters have elements of several archetypes at play. For example, BlazBlue's Tsubaki Yayoi leans easily into the rushdown playstyle but her defining trait is her install gauge. But going through all possible combinations would take a LONG time, so...
And archetypes (with video examples) will be explained below the tier list!
Tumblr media
As for the archetype explanations...I'll put it under the cut because it's long.
Shoto: A solid, all-rounder character who wants to be able to control the space directly in front of them to land their combos. Oftentimes the main protagonist of their respective games, though that's not always the case. They typically have three defining characteristics - a projectile (aka fireball), an uppercut (aka dragon punch/dp or shoryuken), and a forward kick (aka tatsu). Some notable shotos are Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter, Mario from Smash Bros (yes, really), and Jin Kisaragi from BlazBlue.
Shotos are often the 'old reliable' type of characters, as they're typically well-rounded in both offense and defense. While the traditional shoto is often barehanded, a lot of other shotos aren't (Jin, Yu Narukami from Persona 4 Arena, and Hyde Kido from Under Night In-Birth being some notable examples). You really just need those three types of attacks and an all-rounder kit to be a shoto.
youtube
Grappler: A character who excels at close range, their gameplay often revolves around throws and command throws to chain into their combos. They tend to be huge while having low mobility, plus they usually suck at anything other than close range, but boast crazy damage in close range. Some notable grapplers include Kanji Tatsumi from Persona 4 Arena (a lot of people laud Kanji as being one of the best-designed grapplers in fighting game history), Waldstein from Under Night In-Birth, and Iron Tager from BlazBlue.
There is a subset of grapplers known as semi-grapplers. They have more movement options compared to traditional grapplers, but to offset this, their power may not be as explosive as traditional grapplers - an example of this being Cerebella from Skullgirls. This tier assumes both grapplers and semi-grapplers - I would imagine Marbas being more of a traditional grappler while Beleth is a semi-grappler, for example.
youtube
Zoner: A character whose main tool is zoning - the act of keeping your opponent away from you. A zoner's combos often work at long ranges - as a matter of fact, they're usually incentivized to keep pushing their opponents away for their combo strings to continue. Their close-range options tend to be limited, with focus on pushback. Some notable zoners include Hilda from Under Night In-Birth, Ferry from Granblue Fantasy Versus, and Dhalsim from Street Fighter.
To be clear, zoning isn't a zoner-specific part of a character's moveset. But to be considered a zoner, their kit has to rely on zoning. Sometimes, they're called 'keep-away' characters - because they want to keep you away from them since they suffer in close range. And in the case of Leraye and Paimon, if you're asking whether a character with a long-range gun can become a fighting game character...Eustace from Granblue Fantasy Versus is a mid-range zoner who wields a long-range gun, Flamek.
youtube
Rushdown: An archetype that wants to get close to an opponent before hitting them until they die. Unlike grapplers, however, they have high mobility and many tools to move around the opponent. Any character can be played as rushdown if you're brave enough (usually with mindless button mashing), but some examples of dedicated rushdowns include Yosuke Hanamura from Persona 4 Arena, Mika from Under Night In-Birth, and Lancelot from Granblue Fantasy Versus.
Rushdowns excel in applying pressure on opponents. They have a lot of tools to catch their opponents off guard, and have ways to make them get their hit confirms easily - which is usually the start of a combo string. Once a combo gets going, they reward playstyles that are aggressive and offense-oriented. Their combo strings may seem more of a 'death of a thousand cuts' deal like Yosuke and Lancelot (and this is the rushdown type of the Abaddon demons imo), or they may have less tools for hit confirms but have attacks output a lot of damage like Mika (I'd think this is the Gusion rushdown type).
also insert yosuke appreciation here because i do genuinely feel like he's a super stylish rushdown (who has the same seiyuu as asmodeus - no i will not shut up about this). maybe it's my bias speaking (i've been yume-ing with yosuke for a decade now) but he looks good and feels good to play once you understand how his combo strings work. has some of the best voicelines too imo, especially in the en dub - his "now i'm pissed!" awakening quote is my favorite awakening quote in the entire game.
youtube
Footsies: Technically a term used for space control with the use of pokes (attacks that aims to 'use space' and make opponents think twice about approaching), it's now sometimes used to describe characters who have a strong ground game but suffers in the air. This is due to a lot of people associating footsies with ground game. Some notable characters whose kit has heavy emphasis on footsies include Gordeau from Under Night In-Birth (has some of the best footsie tools in the game) and Little Mac from Smash Bros (he has no aerial recovery, but excels on the ground).
Technically, footsies is a skill most fighting game players feel is part of the fundamentals. You're provoking the enemy and trying to bait them to do something that leaves them open for a counterattack. Likewise the enemy is trying to find an opening in your pokes to go for a counterattack. A lot of blocking is involved too. Generally you kinda have to play patiently when engaging in footsies. It's equal parts honorable and being annoying, if that makes sense, and which side you lean into more while playing footsies wholly depends on how you engage with it.
youtube
Stance: A character that can change their battle style with the press of a button. Sometimes their combos require you to seamlessly switch between the two stances (with some of their attacks potentially making them switch stances upon use), and their movesets can vary immensely between them. Some notable stance characters include Cecil Harvey from Dissidia, Narmaya from Granblue Fantasy Versus, as well as both Pokรฉmon Trainer and Pyra/Mythra in Smash Bros.
Essentially, a stance change simply means a style swap. Different characters swap in different ways, from changing the character entirely like the Trainer switching Pokรฉmon (and is how I envision Beelzebub doing his stance change - switching over to one of his clones) or the character just changing fighting styles or weapons (everyone else).
youtube
Install: Install characters have a gauge that they can fill, and they can expend this gauge to gain an immense power boost for a limited time - hopefully, enough to make a reversal. Dissidia has an install system built in to all characters with their character-specific EX Modes, and Yosuke's Sukukaja special in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax can also be considered an install, but for examples of dedicated install characters in fighting games, we have Tsubaki Yayoi from BlazBlue and Sol Badguy from Guilty Gear.
This one is a little bit hard to justify because I feel like, for Naberius's case in particular, he could be an install in the style of Dissidia's Gabranth but toned down - where his full potential (channels his inner Cerberus form) is unlocked in EX Mode, but he isn't the most helpless outside of EX Mode. Same with Gamigin with his dragon form. Everyone else would be a more standard install, though.
youtube
Puppet: As the name implies, puppet characters have a controllable puppet on the field. A puppet character's strength relies on proper usage of their puppet, and they're oftentimes severely crippled if their puppet is out of commission. Some notable puppet characters include the Clovers (Carl Clover and Relius Clover) from BlazBlue, Shadow Labrys from Persona 4 Arena, and the Rosalina and Luma duo from Smash Bros.
Minhyeok is a unique case where I think he'd call on lump form Ppyong as his puppet, in a style similar to Rosalina calling on Luma. Everyone else, their puppets could be the spirits surrounding them, or Jjyu in Belial's case. Buer and Bimet I feel would play close to Shadow Labrys, whose Persona, Asterios, is huge and permanent on the field...though maybe not as mobile as the Clovers' puppets.
youtube
Setplay: Originally a term used to describe getting a guaranteed combo off a hard knockdown, sometimes it's used for characters with traps - as traps oftentimes give a guaranteed opening for a combo string. Their traps force your opponent to think carefully about their movements, as stumbling into a trap means you're opening yourself up to a combo. Some characters like Seth (nobody knows what to classify him into as he doesn't play like any other character in the game) and Merkava (typically considered a rushdown/grappler hybrid) from Under Night In-Birth have some variations of traps (Seth's projectile orbs and Merkava's worms), but dedicated trapper characters include Cagliostro from Granblue Fantasy Versus, The Emperor from Dissidia, and Darkrai from Pokkรฉn Tournament.
If not a puppet fighter, Vassago could also be a setplay character in my opinion. Zagan is a cut-and-dry case with his talismans based on his (very overpowered) L-rank Nightmare Pass card. And I know we see Leviathan mostly with powerful summons, but I'd like to reflect back to my Arknights Operator post and have him summon tentacles as part of his traps, potentially something like Merkava's worms. Otherwise, Leviathan could also be a puppet fighter.
unrelated note, i love seeing belial and avatar belial/avabeli getting bodied by other characters because they were so prominent in tournaments that i actively rooted AGAINST them during the days of base granblue fantasy versus tournaments despite belial being one of my favorite gbf characters and wanting to main belial one day. until i upgrade from the free version of rising, however, i shall remain a gran main - as the only character you can always play as in the free version is gran, everyone else is available on a rotation basis, and belial is a complex character to learn. plus, cagliostro is perfect for this matchup in-lore because she already bodied beelzebub in the main gacha, so belial/avabeli + lucilius feels like natural progression lol
youtube
Composite: Characters whose entire moveset pretty much borrows from other characters in the game. They're different from echo fighters, as echo fighters are fundamentally the same character with some moveset differences (think Mario and Luigi or Marth and Lucina from Smash Bros). Composite characters, by contrast, mix and match different moves from a variety of characters - as a result, they're often much harder to implement. Kirby from Smash Bros has some composite character features (he can copy the neutral special of another character with his own neutral special), but dedicated composite characters include Double from Skullgirls and Bartz from Dissidia.
It is precisely because their movesets borrow from others that they're hard to implement - it's hard to justify a character copying moves of other characters in-lore. Kirby's entire schtick in his main games is his copy abilities (which he gets from inhaling them - and that inhale is his neutral special), Bartz works because he's a mime, and Double is an Eldritch blob who serves a much higher being (one who essentially sows chaos) in the lore of Skullgirls. If the MC is a playable character, I'd put them here (because they were shown to be able to use the powers of the demon kings). As for the human forms of the lumps, I just think it'd be funny if they copied their region's demon king and demon lords. Lucifer could be a composite of the angels, but his position as their hyung would make his versions of their attacks stronger - perhaps with his lower mobility being a trade-off.

so I did the math and if you wanna buy EVERYTHING in the snowflake exchange shop, you would need 2,330 snowflakes (which comes from 30+30+30+30+30+30+500+50+300+1,300=2,330)
which means you would need 34,950 action power (ap) or 2,330 battles (since each battle only gives you 1 snowflake)
also to find out how many more snowflakes you need just do:
your current snowflakes + the ones you used - 2,330 = snowflakes you need
since 1 battle=1 snowflake, if you want to know how much more battles you need, just get the difference of the eq above
just multiply how many snowflakes you need to 15 ap to get how much ap you need
lastly if you were to just buy ap not from the exchange shop, you need a whooping 308,875 guilty gems. If from the exchange shop, you would need 117 days (since the ap purchase is only 30 guilty gems = 300 ap per day) or 3,510 guilty gems.
I just recommend letting your ap restore each day and spend your guilty gems rarely (since it's a really important resource)

Random WHB tier lists based on games/franchises I've recently had brainrot of
I may not play WHB regularly now (no, seriously, last time I played was during the Tortured Leviathan Nightmare Pass, then Girls Frontline 2: Exilium and especially my Puyo Puyo + Trauma Center obsessions resurfacing from high school happened) but I still love some characters a bit too much to truly let go of them aha...Marbas, Lucifer, Minhyeok, Belial, Gusion, and Naberius, my beloveds-
But more than that I guess it's more of like...my old obsessions being annoying brainworms again, which leads to brainrot, essentially. That, and watching an unhealthy amount of League of Legends esports content.
Fair warning that most of these are purely based off vibes!
So, without further ado...
1.WHB as MOBA players when facing an OP character
Tumblr media
Yes, this is the MOBA brainrot speaking.
As for tier explanations:
Tier 1: Some people just want to watch the world burn.
Tier 2: When Mewtwo X and Zacian were first released in Pokemon Unite, many players were so disgusted by how utterly overpowered they were (these two Mons can easily 1v5 coordinated efforts to kill them, even in the hands of not-so-skilled players). It got to a point a subset of these disgusted players actively griefed and trolled those who played them.
Tier 3: Doublelift had this to say about Yuumi, who was a notoriously overpowered Support in League of Legends:
"I am not kidding when I say that if they removed Yuumi from [League of Legends], it would be a better game."
Tier 4: Heo "ShowMaker" Su, professional League of Legends player, had this to say about the then-OP Champion known as K'Sante...keep in mind this is just the K'sante rant, which has become a meme, and the original stream highlight as uploaded by his esports team (Dplus KIA) was simply titled "NERF THIS".
youtube
Tier 5: Comfey is essentially Yuumi in Pokemon Unite, which is why people said it's overpowered in coordinated play. Notably, spragels has an entire video going in-depth about how Comfey breaks the game and how to, essentially, mitigate the sheer brokenness of the Mon.
Tiers 6 and 7: self-explanatory
2. WHB as Arknights Icebreaker Games players
Tumblr media
A bit of context - Icebreaker Games was a multiplayer co-op game mode where players deploy their own squad of units on the same map (this was different from the R6S collaboration event's co-op game mode, where both players are on different but connected maps).
Wis'adel is an absolutely BROKEN Operator whose usage was criticized in Icebreaker Games for being such an insane DPS she essentially ignores stage mechanics and having her Revenants taking up three extra deployment tiles that your teammate might want to use. She absolutely can easily win stages (tier 1) but her Revenants is how most people who want to troll use her (tier 2).
Seeing this, many players attempt to try and limit Wis'adel from ever being used. Some do it in a more violent way using Aak (tier 3) - who inflicts damage on an Operator in his range before buffing them. He's most commonly to buff Operators with high Defense...a stat Wis'adel lacks, so she just Dies.
More peaceful players would put Wis'adel in their subs and simply Not Pick Her whenever she shows up in their randomly-generated picks (tier 4). Not the most foolproof strategy, but it helps.
Last two tiers are, again, self-explanatory.
3. WHB as Puyo-Puyo AI levels
Tumblr media
Puyo Puyo is a competitive puzzle game where your main goal is to make your opponent's board fill up to the 'X' of their field. You do this by sending what is known as Nuisance Puyo to your opponents, generated by popping the regular Puyo you drop into your field.
Tumblr media
Regular Puyo, which are the colored blobs, are cleared by matching four of the same color together. Nuisance Puyo, the grey blobs seen in Lemres (COM1) and Yellow Satan's (COM3) fields, can only be cleared by clearing regular Puyo touching them. You are expected to create chains in order to generate more Nuisance Puyo by arranging your regular Puyos in a way that when one regular Puyo set is cleared, it'll cause another regular Puyo set to be cleared - like what Ecolo (COM2) is doing to the red Puyo set by clearing the yellow Puyos below it. The row on top of your board gives a visual indicator of how many Nuisance Puyo are about to be dropped onto your field (the limit is six rows at once), and you can chip away at it by clearing Puyo chains of your own (otherwise known as offsetting).
The general difficulties are as follows, starting from the ones at the bottom (i.e. easiest difficulty):
Beginner difficulty: allows gravity to drop the Puyo, doesn't really try to form a chain higher than 2. Rotates their Puyo minimally.
Joke AI: uses fast drop to build their joke build before actually playing, prioritizing clearing Puyos in their joke build. Their joke builds may include stacking all Puyos to the sides (Yu and Rei, Dongurigaeru), or stacking Puyo evenly up to a certain height (Suketoudara).
Normal difficulty: will actively attempt to make chains (a 3-chain is the average), but will still let gravity drop their Puyo - until around halfway down the field, where they will then fast drop the Puyo.
Tough, but fair: will bunch Puyos up in threes for ease in chaining, it's not uncommon for them to suddenly pull out 3+ chains. Will fast-drop their Puyo. Starting here, the AI will rush to start a chain to offset any incoming attacks. In 20th Anniversary, in game modes where rotate-stalling is a legitimate strategy to win, they'll do it.
Very tough: the previous tier, cranked up to 11.
Rubber band AI: the AI plays better when you play better...but the issue is that Strange Klug is essentially the final boss of Fever 2, so his base difficulty is already hard.
Unfair: can and will counter your measly 3-chain with a 7-chain, essentially generating enough Nuisance Puyo to fill your board completely unless you offset it. Plays optimally and shows no mercy, including stalling and fast/hard-dropping Puyo in modes that allow them (instantly teleports Puyo to the bottom of the field).
4. WHB in Trauma Team game modes
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: This tier list is made while ignoring the fact that all of them, save for the Paradise Lost demons, absolutely cannot function in an actual hospital scenario.
Trauma Team, released in 2010, is the final instalment in the Trauma Center franchise, a series of medical malpractice- I mean anime surgery simulator games by Atlus (famously known for the Shin Megami Tensei games). We use the term 'surgery simulator' very lightly because, well, it's very anime at times (you fight bioweapons in all previous instalments) and there are still some medical inaccuracies (like operating on a still-beating heart).
Trauma Team, for the most part, is tamer compared to all of its previous instalments. Very standard hospital procedures - until the Rosalia chapter, where you deal with the Rosalia Virus epidemic (which becomes harsher in hindsight when you realize Trauma Team's events happened in 2020 of their canon and the Rosalia Virus is an Ebola-type virus). It has more game modes compared to the previous games, and this tier list would pretty much fit them into the 'vibes' of the Trauma Team game modes...save for the last two tiers.
Surgery: What we often call the 'standard Trauma Center game mode'. Surgery deals with most standard surgical procedures, and in Trauma Team especially a lot of them are very detailed. Most of the time you're only dealing with one patient in each level - in previous games, there were times when you had to deal with multiple patients in one level.
First Response: Always at the scene of an accident or disaster, this game mode focuses on giving first aid and stabilizing victims before transporting them to the hospital for further treatment. The gameplay is frantic, and you're expected to juggle multiple patients at the same time while keeping them alive.
Endoscopy: One of the harder game modes for most, Endoscopy has you, well, operate an endoscope to treat internal wounds - usually conditions within either the digestive or respiratory tracts. Gameplay consists of moving the endoscope around and treating symptoms as they appear.
Orthopedics: Bone surgery, essentially. Along with Endoscopy, it's a game mode that requires delicate control of the Wii remote's motion controls. As such, the amount of precision needed is insanely high, and it rewards careful gameplay. Chip and drill away at bone, affix synthetic bone, treat bone cancer - this game mode has it all.
Diagnosis: Your standard consultation. One of the two more chill game modes, you're really only taking note of symptoms based on patient interview and observations, as well as comparing chart results with potential diagnosis. Requires some creative thinking to get the symptoms you need, for example asking your patient to lift his shirt after he coughed to reveal the fact he has bloody sputum as his clothes came out stained afterwards.
Forensics: The only game mode that doesn't involve medical treatment, and is the other chill game mode. You're solving mysterious deaths, piecing together evidence to deduce and determine how they happened. As an aside, wondering why this game mode is in Trauma Team? Because Naomi Kimishima, the character you play as in Forensics, was a surgeon previously known as Nozomi Weaver, who was playable back in Trauma Center: Second Opinion.
The nurses: Staples in all of the previous instalments, they're your surgical assistants who often remind you of procedures - yes, this includes reminding you to be careful while extracting objects or what tools you're supposed to use. Their role is mostly replaced in Trauma Team by the other doctors or the chairman of their hospital (Esha Patel), except for Diagnosis and Forensics. In Diagnosis, you have RONI, a state-of-the-art computer that eases Gabriel Cunningham (the doctor for Diagnosis) with his job. In Forensics, Naomi is assisted by her previous coworker, Navel (aka Little Guy).
The patients: Self-explanatory, for one reason or another.

Your tone in your reply leads me to believe there may be some things in my reply that you don't agree with. I'll put my opinions and clarifications here, and if we still don't see eye to eye about this, let's just agree to disagree so we don't drag this out much longer than necessary. But if I'm misinterpreting your tone, then I apologize.
To be clear, I do agree with not putting hate on the main tags. I agree with blocking people who only spew hate. I agree that it's best to contact the devs about issues. And I especially agree on being respectful to others.
I'd argue the first point is exactly WHY criticisms are fine in the main tags. Yes, contact the devs, but there needs to be some form of organized action if you want it to be dealt with in a timely and satisfactory manner. At least, that's how it is in the gachas I've played. Buckle in, because I have two games to talk about where player criticism actually led to positive change.
Cygames, the devs for Granblue Fantasy, had a TON of mishaps under their belt while running this over 10-year-old game (did you know that someone in 2015 spent a few thousand dollars for one copy of a limited character in GBF, and this is why the spark/pity system exists and all gachas must display their rates properly?) was forced to immediately give compensation and apologized after the disastrous 2021 summer lottery campaign, with the playerbase all deciding to stop playing while criticizing the devs nonstop. I'm talking 'reached the top of Twitter's trending tab for almost 24 hours' nonstop. Their response was given within 24 hours of the lottery results being posted and this campaign was never repeated in any way, shape, or form. Recently, players protested the TeniSura collab gacha (this was a first, prior to this all collaboration characters were given for free) by not spending any gacha funds on it, and this AGAIN was communicated through the fandom.
As for the second game: Arknights. I play a lot of Arknights - I'd say it's my main gacha - and even though I love Ch'en the Holungday the moment she was released, I know the fandom did NOT love her for a myriad of reasons (one of their criticisms I actually agree with: her original art before it was changed looked more like Blaze, a whole other character entirely).
Was it unpleasant, seeing all the negativity directed towards her? Yes. Were there people who were hateful about it? Also yes. But I know Ch'en the Holungday was emblematic of what was, at the time, insane powercreep and an uncertain future for F2P players like myself - would the meta revolve around Limited Operators now? - and if nothing was done the game's as good as dead. The organized push for change started with experienced players posting their findings about how OP her kit is, and everyone who saw aired out their grievances about her (got to a point content creators were MAKING VIDEOS on why Ch'en the Holungday was a problem), some even deciding to stop playing until HyperGryph, the devs, did something about it. And they did - first, Ch'en the Holungday's art was changed to actually resemble Ch'en (plus she got an absolutely gorgeous L2D skin around a year later). Future characters that were as strong IF NOT STRONGER than her were released in the regular gacha (Mlynar and Degenbrecher being two of the most notable examples). They also reassured players that ALL content, past and future, can still be cleared with no more than one of those super strong high rarity units (that you can borrow anyways). Because of this, the release of the much more broken Wis'adel years later wasn't met with as much dissent as Ch'en the Holungday was.
Clearly, there is a lot of nuance in the 'I hate the devs' sentiment. Some don't want to interact with the games at all, like how people dropped Project Moon games completely after the Vellmori situation. Others hate the devs but love the game, so they still want to see the game succeed, like fans of Bandai Namco IPs that have been consistently snubbed time and time again (how we feeling about the new release drought @ Tales - no the Graces port does not count as the last new instalment was Arise back in 2021, God Eater, Soulcalibur, .hack fans, and more). This is where respectful discussion of complaints and criticism comes in, and how both Granblue Fantasy and Arknights resolved their issues.
โ€œRoses are red, violets are blue
If you leave the fandom, shut the fuck up, and let us enjoy too.โ€
Srsly though, imagine having like an obsessive ex that dumped you but still comment at every social media updates of yours. Mfk, like at this point just leave already.
If you guys feel targeted, this post is for ya~. If you donโ€™t, itโ€™s not. And seeing this also means you still care about the tag and canโ€™t get over the ex that you dumped~ hehe, further proving my points. Get over it.

My hot takes of the day:
There are people who enjoy the premise and the characters and will engage in the game's content, but cannot stand how the devs handle the game. I know I don't just speak for myself when I say I desperately want to return to the game but until PB stops mismanaging the game, I wouldn't even dream of returning for extended periods of time to dedicate my time and device storage to.
Differentiate between criticism and actual hate. The former is done with the express desire to see the game improve, the latter is done to bring the game down. I personally believe criticism has its place in the official tags, but not hate. Though a lot of times, criticism when written while emotional has the potential of appearing like hate.

Out of all these I definitely would recommend Ikemen Revolution, Mystic Messenger, and NU Carnival the most. IkeRev is imo one of the best Ikemen games in terms of plot, the fact that it starts us off with a war between two factions is a great hook. Mystic Messenger is not only an entire pop culture phenomenon but also just an overall compelling story that has many layers below the seemingly light-hearted premise. And NU Carnival probably has one of the better-written plots in terms of H-games, but do note that the player character, Eiden, is more of a fully fleshed out character than a reader insert.
Ikemen Sengoku and Ikemen Vampire are both pretty solid too, it's just my bias towards Ray Blackwell from Ikemen Revolution is just too strong to recommend them over Ikemen Revolution.
I can't say much about Obey Me, but a friend said it's got a solid story and interesting characters, but with a pretty bad gacha rate. To my knowledge the original Obey Me and Nightbringer are two separate plotlines, with different gameplay as well (original OM being more of a raising sim a la pre-split Ensemble Stars while Nightbringer is a rhythm game with gameplay basically being a very stripped down Muse Dash with gacha).
What in Hell is Bad genuinely has interesting concepts but the writing oftentimes leaves a lot to be desired, especially with some of the H-scenes. Also feels very F2P-unfriendly with a lot of content (card stories) locked behind a rather steep paywall. The gameplay itself is what I like to call 'Path to Nowhere at home', basically a very stripped-down and much more unbalanced tower defense in Path to Nowhere's style (deploy a set number of units at the start of a stage, reposition units as necessary), with game design features that I genuinely do not understand (all rarities have the same amount of upgrade requirements, for one). Definitely the one I recommend the least among these games, but do note I'm an Arknights girlie who has criticized WHB's core tower defense gameplay loop. A lot.
There's been a lot of otome games I wanted to try lately so Imma make a list:
Ikemen Vampire - vampires sound cool and I want to at least be familiar with characters I see ppl talk about
Ikemen Sengoku - heard it romanticizes nature (which I would like) and want to be familiar with characters I see ppl talk about ... and be able to play it before it inevitably gets shut down
Ikemen Revolution - one person shared a bunch of screenshots that got me curious, at least want to be familiar with characters ... and play it before it inevitably gets shut down
Mystic Messenger - it's one of the most popular otomes and I feel I should play it to culture myself, and one of my friends recommended it and got me interested in Ray
Obey Me - might be bad timing but I think it was just getting sunsetted for now (?) so I want to culture myself and get to know the characters before it's gone
NU Carnival - the ad intrigued me a lot and my genderfluid soul would love to get to be a guy mc (at least I'm pretty sure this has a male mc)
What in Hell is Bad - saw it getting popular, demons intrigue me, and I heard it gets spice
If anyone has any notes or advice or something about these they want to share with me, go ahead. Just know that I suck at replying most times

About Zagan's new card...
Why is it so broken?! Did nobody playtest this?!
Okay. Design-wise, I love it. Zagan has to be one of my favorite devils in Gehenna, along with Belial. I also love tigers, so having a tiger in his card is basically a case of bonus brownie points from me. But that's where all the positive things I have to say about this card ends.
Tumblr media
It goes without saying - I'm not a fan of how it's Nightmare Pass and broken as all shit. Not unexpected, but still disappointing regardless. It's giving Wis'adel in Arknights all over again, but much more egregious - since Zagan is locked behind a paywall. At the very least, Wis'adel isn't paywalled even though she's a limited Operator, and she's given for free if a player amassed 300 pulls on her debut banner. And with how easy it is to grind pulls in Arknights, that wasn't in the realm of impossibility for an F2P to accomplish if they didn't pull on every banner and saved up most of their resources. I myself dipped into 400 pulls on her banner while pulling for my husband Logos, and that's with me putting in ~150 pulls in other banners. As an F2P.
No such luck with Zagan, though. His kit is centered around stalling enemies, with both stuns and a one-minute long slow. And, despite how absolutely broken Wis'adel is (insane damage, AoE stuns, nigh-invincibility, ignores class restrictions to attack aerial enemies on skill 3), I do think Zagan is even worse than Wis'adel - the Operator that is emblematic of the most insane case of powercreep Arknights players have ever seen implemented in their game after 5.5 years of service (CN).
There's two parts of this brokenness that I would like to highlight:
1. The Stuns.
Stunning as a crowd-control effect (hereby referred to as CC) is immensely broken in a tower defense setting as it not only stops enemies from attacking, it also stops them from moving. And guess which part of Zagan's skills has the stun CC effect?
Tumblr media
Yeah. This isn't fair.
But I'm getting ahead of myself, so let's talk game balance first.
In most other games, having the ability to simply incapacitate an enemy is already a boon in itself - and requires it to be balanced somehow. Pokemon does it by capping a Mon's sleep turns at 3 while having a guaranteed 1 turn of sleep (as of gen 6 and onwards). Plants vs Zombies does it by limiting access to incapacitation to the notoriously weak Kernel-pult's butter projectiles, at a ~10% chance of spawning. A lot of Arknights Operator skills that can stun are limited by their passives and class mechanics, such as:
Texas the Omertosa: as an Executioner Specialist, she becomes a DP drain if use her often - which, you will, since her class is built around retreating and redeploying. Her stunning skill is her third skill, Torrential Sword Rain. As an added bonus, she reactivates her skill if she manages to kill an enemy with her skill (once per deployment).
Tumblr media
Mudrock: requires her to be attacked to charge her stunning skill, Crag Splitter. As a Juggernaut Defender, she cannot be directly healed, and relies on her skills and shield passive to regenerate health (apart from sources of passive healing).
Tumblr media
Hoederer: has literally no defense as a Crusher Guard, and the skill with his longest stun duration, Fog of War Upon Death's Door, drains his health by 100 every second the skill is active. He has a huge HP pool to make up for it, and decent buffs on his second skill to help him survive...as long as he can hit enemies.
Tumblr media
But, here lies the most pivotal issue with Zagan's card.
He always stuns on his normal attack.
Now, there's a reason why I put my examples as melee Arknights Operators. Zagan's new chibi card doesn't seem to portray him with a gun, unlike his current playable version. This communicates to me that he's likely a melee character in his normal version, which is why I compared him to the three stunning melee Operators I use a lot.
But they stun on skill, which means their stunning uptime is limited by their skill duration and charge speed. And, in Hoederer's case, his stun isn't even guaranteed.
This isn't the case with Zagan - with his stun being part of his normal attack, that means his stun has 100% uptime...with what I assume is a 100% activation rate, as there is no mention of a 'chance to stun' in his skill description. The closest thing we have to a 100% uptime stun is Typhon's second skill, Order of the Icefield, which has three caveats:
The infinite duration is only applied on the second cast of her skill per deployment.
It isn't even a guaranteed stun - it's a 40% chance per damage instance for a 1-second stun while granting her regular attacks an extra damage instance, which totals up to a 64% chance to stun with each attack.
As a Besieger Sniper, she has insane range...but has a blind spot in the row directly in front of her.
You could argue that Zagan is balanced because he's a melee unit. As a melee unit, he has a limited range and can only attack one enemy at a time. Which is fair, but this brings us to his next issue.
2. His passive. Oh dear lord, his passive.
"Wait, what? Isn't it good, because it makes lower rarity Gehenna demons usable?"
Well...it's a bit more nuanced than that. But to truly understand why Zagan's passive is a huge issue, we need a crash course on Arknights' faction buffs!
In Arknights, some units will buff other units in the same faction as theirs. Several notable factions with this unique interaction include the Abyssal Hunters, Rhine Laboratories, and Kazimierz. Among these faction buffs, the Abyssal Hunters are generally considered to have the strongest faction buffs, as they all have passives that will buff all other Abyssal Hunter Operators.
Which makes sense, in terms of lore. The Abyssal Hunters are basically enhanced super soldiers tasked with defeating Seaborn - Eldritch monsters with insane evolutionary and adaptability capabilities that they can and will destroy the world if left unchecked. They all have Seaborn blood injected into them to be able to fight back against the Seaborn, which explains why an Abyssal Hunter squad is so strong. Sure, the Abyssal Hunter Operators are strong on their own, but using them together brings their performance to their max potential. As Shuvi said in Arknights Challengers #2, "If you do the AbyssalKnights correctly, the amount of buffs that all of them stack on top of each other is tremendous."
However, this strength comes at the cost of several caveats.
Most of the Abyssal Hunter squad is locked behind gacha, and a majority are 6*, the highest rarity. 6* Skadi, 6* Skadi the Corrupting Heart, 6* Specter the Unchained, the upcoming 6* Ulpianus, 6* Gladiia, 5* Specter, and 5* Andreana are all the units with Abyssal Hunter buffs, though Skadi the Corrupting Heart is a unique case where she herself is part of the Aegir faction - thus, not benefitting from the buffs of other Abyssal Hunters (which also makes sense in-lore, as Corrupting Heart is a version of Skadi who defected from the Abyssal Hunters and became a Seaborn). Among these Operators, only Gladiia is free (is the welfare Operator of the Under Tides intermezzi).
You need a lot of investment for the buffs to be truly broken. Gladiia's damage reduction only affects all enemies once you build her Module X to level 2, which requires promoting her to E2 (prior to that, her damage reduction works only on Seaborn enemies). 5* Specter is the most egregious case - she only gets an Abyssal Hunter passive buff when you build her Module to level 2.
Specter the Unchained and Skadi the Corrupting Heart are limited Operators. Higher priority is often placed on Skadi the Corrupting Heart, despite she herself not being affected by Abyssal Hunter buffs, because she's a support that you can easily slot into many teams.
Zagan's passive is, essentially, a faction buff. However, instead of his buffs being related to stats, it's basically him allowing all Gehenna units to stun everyone on their normal attacks. It has the potential to trivialize all content in the game, and if you have multiple Satan cards? Well let's just say you won the game at this point!
Gehenna devils are mostly marksmen with long attack ranges. What this means, is that they can essentially stall enemies with their normal attacks. Just proc damage skills from cards like Satan (Selfie) on waves with large enemy spawns, and you're golden. Which, honestly, doesn't happen often enough - WHB's wave spawns are very slow. Your L cards' AoE damage ultimate is going to be ready within 2 enemy waves.
You just need several Gehenna marksmen, L Zagan, and two units with large AoE damage (which, as we've established, is pretty much 99% or all L cards regardless), and you're set. Which is so fucking stupid.
It's absolutely telling that the Ultimate is perhaps the most balanced part of his kit and that the passive from equipping his unique artifact is negligible, mainly because just him and his passive, in a Gehenna team, would already render his Ultimate unnecessary.

Been playing a little bit too much of Puyo Puyo 20th Anniversary when I suddenly remembered this game's Satan is such a softie he couldn't turn down Lidelle calling him 'big brother' lmao.
Now I kinda need a WHB version of this with WHB Satan in Puyo Puyo Satan's place but who would be in Lidelle's spot lmfao

โ€Today's vetted fundraisers
After losing my business, home, and many family members due to the prolonged conflict in Gaza, Iโ€™ve been struggling immensely. My friend Mohammed in Belgium suggested creating this link to help mitigate some of my financial losses. I am deeply grateful for any support, no matter how small. Iโ€™ll share images showing the destruction of my business and home, which has forced my family and me into a cramped tent. We face severe challenges, including extreme temperatures, inadequate winter preparation, and a lack of essential supplies like medicine, food, and clean water. These conditions have worsened health issues among my family members.
