Here's the thing about the Castiel confession that I don't think people from the-fandom-not-to-be-named (lest they find this and start sending me death threats) understand...

No one knew it was coming. In no one's mind were we all going into Despair (15x18) thinking "Oh I know, Cas is going to confess his love to Dean." We never thought it because it was never something that was on the table to begin with. It was one of those things of where we knew that they loved each other, and honestly that was fine. After 11 years of dealing with those two dumbasses, this was nothing new. I didn't even watch it live because I was like "You know, it's election night, I need to get some sleep" and it wasn't until @sledgehamur called me and was like "you need to watch it now, and you need to not look at your phone until you are done" that I was like "Aw shit, something big happened. Cas probably died, that's probably it."

But then the speech happened and we were all gobsmacked. And again, 11 years...we are a monster of a fandom that has a variety of sleeper agents who hadn't watched the show in 8 years but tuned back in because of the immediate collective scream unleashed by the active fandom.

So this is all a really round about way of saying that it's really really adorable that fans think their little firefighters are going to 'outdo destiel' and therein lies the problem. All of them are going into the Nov 5th episode (titled Confessions) with expectations and entitlement to their two faves are going to start making out on screen. And I don't know if feels like the ST people screaming about queerbaiting again...

All in all, if your already canonically bi character dumps his canonically queer boyfriend just to be with a character that he's been shipped with more but has no actual set up with whatsoever...

That isn't Destiel 2 : Electric Boogaloo, that's just crap writing.

But then again, this is why I watch everything to do with this show from at least 4 miles away with a telescope and from behind an electrified fence with a lab coat on and a scientific notebook in hand.

Well, I hope this makes sense. It were very much shower thoughts I put down on the page as rambles and my one hope this validates someone with a buddie stan in their life who's going on and on and on about how it's going to be just like how it was in 2020 without actually understanding any of the context behind it.

Ah yes. RB 2 Electric Boogaloo, also known as Something Borrowed, Something Blues, the sequel to Reincarnation Blues. I'll be honest, I've barely touched this one since late 2019-early 2020? My whole methodology of writing has changed since then, but somehow I'm still stuck on knowing what has to happen next, but not being quite sure how (or in what order). Maybe I need to try something creative with sticky notes.

I did start rereading this one from the beginning recently, though, to try to remind myself where I was and where I was going, and I have been working on it. Slowly.

Sample:

Where the shiny, modern glass-and-steel building that housed the Stanley Pines Memorial Library of the Supernatural had stood, now there was nothing but a flattened pile of rubble, still smoking slightly in places. Eldritch fire glimmered purple-green in between a few tumbled, broken concrete pillars. Bits of broken glass twinkled in the grass of the park that surrounded it and glittered over the asphalt of the road that passed by in front.

The motorcycle crunched over that glass and pulled to a halt, the woman in front putting a foot down to brace herself before pulling off her mirrored helmet and shaking out her iron-grey ponytail. An expression of melancholy crossed her face as she took in the wreckage, melancholy shading toward despair.

Archie could see why. He couldn’t imagine that anyone could have survived whatever calamity had destroyed the library – and, quite likely, caused that enormous percussive boom that had nearly knocked them off the road, earlier. Whoever they’d been coming to see, whatever information they’d hoped to find, whatever remedy to send the hordes of the undead back to their restless graves which they’d sought – all of it was now buried under the smoking ruin.

“Shit,” the motorcyclist said.

Archie found that, vulgar as her language was, he was forced to concur.

He’d only been staring mournfully at the ruin for a scant few seconds, though, before motion caught his eye. At first, he thought it was simply the smoke, or possibly one of those unnaturally-coloured flames, or maybe the rubble settling. But as he watched, a slender hand burst up through the wreckage.

Archie absolutely did not scream like a little girl. He had just barely escaped a gruesome demise at the hands of rotting zombies that punched up through the ground in a very similar fashion, anyway. If he had let out a short, masculine cry of distress, why – he could hardly be faulted, could he?

Whatever the reason, though, the motorcyclist turned.

For a split second, her expression froze, turning grim as she grabbed a piece of shattered rebar from the rubble at their feet. She raised it like a baseball bat as she took several careful steps toward the hand, which was now groping blindly at the broken concrete around it like, Archie thought a little hysterically, someone searching for a dropped contact lens. “Hey! Are you alive?”

For one tense, agonising moment, there was no reply.

And then, muffled, from somewhere under the heaps of concrete and steel, a voice piped up. “That’s kind of vitalist, don’t you think? What if I was a vampire?”

The motorcyclist sighed, a full-body release of tension, and swung the rebar down into the grass before clambering over the rubble to where the hand was still searching. There was an exasperated fondness in her voice as she started to pull the crumbling chunks aside. “Stars’ sake, Yaz, only you could think of something like that while trapped under a collapsed building.”

The exasperated fondness was echoed in the subterranean voice. “And only you would give me shit for it, Wanda. Hey, are you digging me out? You’d better be digging me out, or I’m going to haunt your skinny ass.”

“Yes, I’m digging you out,” the motorcyclist – Wanda? – grumbled, pulling aside a piece of girder as she looked back over her shoulder at Archie. “A little help, here?”

I need to retcon the timeline for the Fizzarozzie reveal in my hellaverse social media AU.

I originally based the timeline on the day that Mammon’s Magnificent Musical Mid-Season Special, intending for it to take place in 2023.

But then I more or less decided that for the purposes of my hellaverse content, I’m going to put the events of Hazbin Hotel in the year 2020, with Extermination 2 Electric Boogaloo on July 1st, 2020. (I have good reason to suspect that Hazbin happens on a leap year, and 2020 was a helluva year, so why not?)

I want Fizz and Ozzie to be able to flirt and be cute with each other on posts, so I need the reveal to happen before July 1st, 2020.

// REGARDING THE EXTERMINATION BROADCAST, A MUSE COMPARISON, LOCAL ALASTOR VS. ALLIE.

I didn't do much this past year, but since 2020, the Annual Extermination has been a very fun blog event because Local Alastor broadcasts the entire 24 hours. It's his day to SHINE! He reports on the whereabouts of exorcists, reports on the crackhead behavior that sinners are doing (à la Florida Hurricane Party shenanigans), takes song requests, has sinners call in and chat/shout-out/share stories, and very importantly, documents what people are seeing on the ground. One year, someone reported that the exorcists couldn't go near an antique shop. His broadcast documents stuff like this for the researchers who study exorcists and how to defeat them.

It's his day to feel helpful, one day a year where everyone is far more afraid of another threat (the exorcists) than they are of him. He's everyone's friend that day. He's a man of the people like how radio is the medium of the people. Man, Hell SUCKS and he can't stop the end of the world but he sure can turn it into a party! He can keep everyone's morale high! He can't stop the genocide but he certainly can broadcast & DJ his own genocide! Joy is a tool of resistance anyway! Refusing to succumb to despair is a form of resistance!

So he broadcasts. He suspects that it puts him in the line of fire. I think his exterminator 'ex' somewhat confirmed as much. Maybe he'll die and be free from his eternal boredom. He thinks about it. If he's going to die, he wants to die on air. He wants a glorious death and he wants it broadcasted.

So, that's on Alexa.

Allie, on the other hand -- she stopped doing extermination broadcasts a while ago.

She knows that they put her in the line of fire. She doesn't want to die, like at all. Not passively. Hell sucks but she's good at making lemonade out of lemons, much better than Alexa, actually, and she has a lot of lemonade left to make. She feels like she has a new lease on life and she deserves to get some more mileage out of her existence!

She's also seen an uglier side of the sinner population than Alexa has, anyway, and she's like "very few of you deserve me putting myself in the line of fire for your stupid asses anyway" so for the past however many years, she's done shit like gigs at rich doomsday prepper shelters. Fun shit. She really has a good time!

But she's considering picking the broadcast back up. Part of her still feels like it's her duty to humanity as Thee Radio Host, even if the humans around her are a self-selecting group of the worst ones. It was a fun broadcast when she did it. And she's feeling like a bit of a coward now. The Opposition is escalating by doing Genocide 2: Electric Boogaloo. Maybe this is her time to get back to resisting, instead of hiding.
