What They'd Do for a First Date (2p!Axis, 2p!Allies, & 2p!Nordics)

Here are my headcanons on where I think a large chunk of the 2p!Hetalia boys would do for a first date.

2p!Italy: I can see Luciano wanting to do something fancy to impress you. Probably a tour all around the city of Milan, ending with a gondola ride throughout the city, the two of you nestled in the boat, cuddled up together.

2p!Germany: Probably a bar or clubbing. He'd want to do a bunch of shots and then go dancing, partying the night away before taking you back home to his place. Or yours. Whoever has the most sturdy bed out of you two.

2p!Japan: I cannot see him wanting to do anything huge or fancy for a first date, so I feel like Kuro would be content with taking a long walk through the woods where the two of you talk about life, future plans, etc.

2p!Romano: Disney movie marathon with a bunch of fun, Disney-themed snacks. That's it. That's all I got. I headcanon Flavio as a hardcore Disney fan.

2p!Prussia: Gillen would like to take you to a Renaissance fair. He'd ask about the two of you wearing corresponding costumes, with him as a knight and you as a princess. But, you know, no pressure. Though there's a chance he's gonna try to buy you a tiara.

2p!America: I can see Allen taking you to a skatepark. He'd take out a skateboard and show you some cool tricks before offering to teach you. He loves teaching you how to skateboard, especially since it allows him to be so physically close to you, often with his arms around you in some way or another.

2p!England: Alright, a first date with Oliver would end up being one of two things. Either you guys are gonna be making cupcakes together at his place, or you're gonna binge-watch the Great British Baking show. Or both?

2p!France: François is such a homebody. So the first date you two would have would likely be somewhere very quiet, unpopulated, and lowkey. Either a bookstore or just hanging out at his place watching a movie together and making stupid, nonsensical commentary along the way.

2p!Russia: Curiously enough, a museum. I can see Viktor as a very intelligent person, and as such, he'd like to take you to a museum about world history. Not to mention he'd potentially correct an exhibit or two along the way.

2p!China: Zao would take you to his martial arts class, eager to show you some moves, and teach you some as well. Though be warned, he can be a little impulsive and may accidentally hurt himself. Better have that first-aid kit on hand.

2p!Canada: James would be down for either a nature walk or hiking, whichever you prefer. Just understand that if you were to choose hiking, you'd definitely be scoring some points with him here. As you go along he'd point out different birds and wildlife, dropping some pretty interesting trivia along the way.

2p!Denmark: Markell will take you to a bar. He's not one for big, crowded, noisy places. So a quiet bar that people seldom ever come to would be a good choice. He'd like to talk to you face-to-face over a couple of drinks.

2p!Sweden: Ikea. I know it's a joke at this point... But I just... Come on, it's gotta be going around an Ikea together! That or, Bernard will show you his knife collection.

2p!Norway: Loki would like to take you out ice skating, especially if you hardly know how to skate in the first place. He'd like to teach you, mainly because he gets to be very close to you, and while on the ice you'll have to hang onto him.

2p!Finland: Thurston would be literally the same as his 1p! counterpart in this regard. He'll either take you to a heavy metal concert or will take you out sharpshooting. He actually is more into sharpshooting, seeing as he's not the most social of the 2p!'s.

Besides from Ireland, do you portray any other nation as female despite having a canon male version?

Actually, yes! I have female OCs for Northern Ireland, Finland, Iceland & Estonia. Iceland started out as a nyo, but I developed her so much she basically became an OC. The other three I set out with the intention of making an OC version instead. I might go back in develop male iceland more, bc I honestly love the idea of Finland being the only female (independent) Nordic.

I also prefer to use nyo north Italy in aus. I scarcely use aph Italy, also nyo. Nations like France, America & Spain, it’s a flip of a coin, sometimes I like to use their 1ps, but I also love their nyos.

I would’ve loved for the Philippines to be a girl too, and I much prefer Portugal original female design over his male design, but I don’t have girl versions developed for them, and don’t know enough about either country to develop female versions.

However, out of all these characters mentioned, the only two where I actively refuse to even acknowledge their male counterparts are Ireland & N. Ireland.

& in terms of OCs that aren’t canon in hetalia, the Faroe Islands, Åland, Cornwall & Northumbria (Northern England) are all also women in my mind.

Quick Notes:

Nor/Den/Swe/Ice: Their middle names HCs is mainly for human AUs where I gotta let their parents strike the fear of God into them by getting full-named whenever they have messed up badly. 😂 You can ignore middle names in nation-verse/AUs.

Nor/Den/Swe/Ice's family name: I use Nilssen or Nordir depending on if they're half-siblings or full-blood siblings in the story. Nilssen basically means "son of Nils" and is a common name no one in the Nordics would bat an eye at. Meanwhile Nordir is a family name I made up specifically for Nor/Den/Swe/Ice, and is short for Nordbródir, meaning "Northern Brother".

Norway: "Sigge" is a pretty Swedish nickname (and its' own name), so this would likely mainly (but not exclusively) be Sweden's "human" nickname for Norway. And if you don't see any of the Nordics as siblings you can use the family names Nordvik or Ødegård for Norway.

Denmark: I use the more Scandinavian spelling Mattias instead of Matthias/Mathias, but some prefer to simply name him Magnus instead. And if you don't see the Nordics as siblings then other family names which work for Denmark are Jensen, Andersen and Fredriksen - all which basically mean "Son of [Name]".

Sweden: Björn is also Swedish for "bear", a nice and fitting bonus. If you don't see any of the Nordics as siblings then the family names Svensson, Eriksson/Eiriksson "Son of [Name]" or Lindgren "Linden branch" work as well. If you want to be extra funny though, let it be Svensson. See my other posts about Sweden's names for the reason. 😂 . Anyway, if you enjoy SuFin I also encourage you to give Sweden the family name you choose for Finland rather than the other way around.

Sealand: I refuse to completely take him away from England, and thus he's still a Kirkland. I enjoy papa Sweden HCs and stories, but I shall never forgive the fandom for making people believe Sealand and England hate each other. Their relationship is a bit messy at times, but holy smokes we have so much canon stuff about how much they care about each other. Hence shared custody, "divorced parents on friendly terms"-style, despite England and Sweden not actually being married or divorced.

Ladonia: Not much to comment, except I recommend you give him the same family name as Sweden. If you want to be extra funny though, let it be Svensson. See my other posts about Sweden's names for the reason. 😂

Iceland: Emil is a little more modern, so he might have had another one in the past, but I just really love the name. At the other hand the Icelandic laws for family names are a headache if you don't already have some experience with how Scandinavian family names work/used to work. So for your own sake just give him the family name Nilssen or Nilsson, make sure his dad is named Nils in a human AU, and don't look back. Save yourself. Run. x') (Okay, admittedly I'm being a bit dramatic, but they still take liking the "son of-" and "daughter of-" names to a new level and their laws might be a bit confusing if you don't already know some Nordic history about family names. A good read if you're up for some research, but not everyone would be).

Finland: Timo is basically the corrected Finnish version of canon Tino. I still use Väinämöinen for his family name, and while it technically still works as a family name it's not 100% correct either. However, I simply didn't have the heart to take away his really cool name after a Finnish demi-god. Besides, naming himself after a demi-god is absolutely something I can see (hws) Finland doing anyway. 💖 x)

This is probably a weird request because rare pairing is rare, but could you write something (headcanons or drabbles or anything b/c I'm a desperate woman) about Russia getting a crush on Sweden?

I’ll happily do rare pairs! I’ve never thought about these two as an item before, but they do have some similarities that they can bond over. I’ve also never done Sweden’s accent, so I did it as little as possible. Also I realise Russia isn’t getting a crush, it’s already there, and Sweden is just a baffled gay sidelining to Finland hooking him up. Thank you for letting me explore this ship!

Russia hums at China but continues to stare off into the distance. And this annoys China. Immensely.

“Russia, has anyone taught you it’s rude to ignore people!” Russia jolts at this, looking back at China. He blinks languidly, shuffling in his seat.

“Sorry, I am distracted.”

“I can tell that much!” China isn’t in the best of moods when his ‘friend’ ignores him. Then China pauses, wrinkles up his brow and look over to where Russia keeps focussing his attention. The Nordics. Why would Russia be interested in them? Russia nods to himself sternly, as if deciding something, then abruptly gets up - pushing his chair back and placing his palm on the table.

“I’ll talk to him.” China’s eyes bulge as Russia begins to walk away.

“Aiya! I was talking to you!” China’s squawking is completely blanked as Russia approaches the Nordics, hands clenched.

“–hy not? Pineapple is great on everything!” Denmark can’t help his loudness. Russia is aware he’s a nice man, even if he doesn’t know what an inside voice is.

“Pineapple pizza is disgusting.” Norway doesn’t even let Denmark protest as he jumps to the next topic and looks to Sweden. “Nice scarf.”

“Thanks.” Sweden adjusts the material over his arm, holding his outwear inside. It would be rude, else wise.

“Mr Swe made it.” Finland smiles brightly, looking back to Sweden for confirmation. Sweden nods hesitantly at this. Finland swears he can see a hint of a blush. Finland just isn’t aware that it’s because of the intense staring made by someone hovering near the group.

“Cool, didn’t know you could knit. You’re like an old man!” Denmark begins to laugh, placing his hands on his hips before Norway reaches for his tie, tightening it.

“Be quiet.”

“I knit.” Russia holds his hands in front of himself, fiddling with his hands nervously. Iceland begins to back away, Denmark and Norway retreating too. Finland stays present, a bright beam on his face. Not like Russia would notice as he stares directly at Sweden, waiting for a response.

“Mr Swe has just taken up the hobby! He normally sticks to furniture.” Finland nods along to his own rambling. Russia gives him the tiniest glance, before looking back at Sweden.

“I like the slip stitch, it’s what I did for this jumper.” Indeed, Russia is wearing a home-knit jumper, and Sweden raises his brow at that. He’s impressed. It could have been mistaken as a shop-brought one.

“’S nice.” Sweden flickers his eyes between Russia’s jumper and his eyes, before settling on his face. He realises Russia is waiting for more, albeit with a blush. “I can only do th’ garter stitch.”

“I could teach you!” Russia says it as if he only just thought of it, eyes sparkling and face lifting. Finland smiles softly at Russia’s excitement before looking at Sweden.

“That sounds like fun. Mr Swe is free tomorrow, you could come back with us.” Finland takes the road for this, guiding Sweden along as the man continues to stare in bafflement.

“I can’t wait.” Russia actually pays attention this time to Finland. “We can have fun like old times.”

“Ah,” Finland gives a curt nod. “With Mr Swe, it’ll be even more fun!” Finland clasps his hands together. “It’s a date!”

So in regards to yandere 1p Norway, there is something i’ve not touched upon, but i feel is relevant to this ask. Norway is an incredibly dangerous and frightening yandere, more than most of the others. This is not something you would be likely to notice as he appears well-mannered and polite 99% of the time, he’s not big on punishments or violence, at least not towards his darling. Anyone else interfering will be warned once, maybe twice if they are a good friend, and while he will often get the other 1p nordics to do his dirty work, it does not save those who  truly piss him off. Being one of the few countries who possess magic and is skilled at wielding it, he does command some respect among the other 1ps as a yandere. A lot of the 2p yanderes avoid him too. Of course, some had to test their luck against him and came to the quick realization that they actually do enjoy the small pieces left of their sanity.

Anyway with his darling, jealousy would be subtle at first, he’s not attempting to scare you away after all. However if his behaviour goes unchecked, as one might put it, it will without a doubt become worse. He will behave more jealous towards others, though you will rarely receive any of the blame. He might slip if he spirals.

Jealousy would be seen in the forms such as glaring at people looking at you, although never while you see it 

he will observe you more deeply while using a computer if you are a captive. If you came to him willingly he will just monitor it secretly. There are many bad people out there after all, he knows that very well.

At some point it progresses into subtle magic use while out and about, some people will have minor but unlucky accidents, such as coffee spilled on their lap, water splashed on them from a car passing by them and a puddle. The magic will slowly get more violent and insistent to make sure they do not come near you. Eventually people will start dying of random accidents at an increasing level. Norway will make sure the politicians blame poor building structures and other plausible reasons.

He may attempt to keep you home more, after all, so many accidents in the town must mean it isn’t safe to go there too much. He’ll start slow with scaring you a bit, keeping you updated on the parts he thinks will work in his favour. Eventually you’ll give in, maybe you will move to somewhere safer and he’ll think of other possibilities to keep people away. Too many similar deaths are suspicious after all. 

If you do realise how jealous he is, it would  be best to keep that knowledge to yourself, he might be tempted to alter your memories a bit, if it comes down to any fear that you might leave. Perhaps you can even turn things around if you play your cards right. Just be warned that he cheats at these games.

Hetalia PDA Headcanons (2p!Nordics)

Headcanons about how the 2p!Hetalia characters would feel about PDA with their S/O.

2p!Denmark: Markell tends to be reserved with PDA, but not so much so that he doesn't emote or do anything. He'd let you rest your head on his shoulder or lap in public whenever you're tired. He'd also be the kind to occasionally pat you on the head, offering a rare, small smile as he does so. He's also fine with hand-holding and secretly loves it when you hug his arm. To be honest? His PDA is basically a heavily subdued version of PDA from his 1p! counterpart.

2p!Sweden: Watch as this man practically drags you all over town showing you off to everyone you meet, keeping an arm around your waist and proudly displaying you like you're the greatest prize he's ever won. He won't only shout from the rooftops how much he loves you, he'll show it by holding your hand, kissing your face (literally anywhere on your face), and dancing with you in the town square. Very similar to Feliciano, now that I think of it, albeit a little more possessive. He's not afraid to hold your hand around town, but if a man gives you a moderately flirty look, he's gripping onto your wrist and dragging you back home. Again, yandere.

2p!Norway: Loki is very big on hand-holding. He loves the feeling of your hand in his, interlocking your fingers or even clinging onto your wrist. This is not only to send a message to others, but to keep you nearby. He doesn't want you wandering off. If the two of you are sitting down he'd lazily swing an arm around your shoulders and pull you close, pressing kisses to your head now and again. Occasionally he'll even pull you into his lap, holding you there with his arms around you waist, resting his head into your chest.

2p!Finland: PDA doesn't exist for this man. The most he'll do is offer you his arm when the two of you are out and about, but only at night when shady figures may be around. If the two of you are sitting somewhere where there's a table, like a restaurant, he'd be willing to hold your hand under the table where nobody can see. But if he's drunk he becomes a mess of a man, lazily throwing his body on yours as he begins to pass out.

Guilt and a Dane

Day 2 and 2206 words

He had to get to somewhere where there was some cover from the buckets of rain falling on this cold early autumn night. This late-night storm came in suddenly and he didn’t have his car with him since it was just a short walk to his favorite bar. And the high gusts of wind didn’t help either. He was almost soaked to the bone and he was only quarter of the way home.

Mathias knew that he better find sort of shelter before he got seriously sick. His health was in tune and tandem with the country he was and vice versa. Sick country personification of Denmark meant the country of Denmark would have something that cause some sort of economical, social, governmental or physical infrastructure trouble for the country. So, any of the above or all of the above wasn’t good. That is why Mathias kept up his health.

 A sudden flash of lighting and a loud clap and roll of thunder was heard coming from the northwest and that only told him that the storm was getting worse. “Shit! Gotta find someplace to take cover.” Mathias said to himself as he ran down the cold, wet streets of Copenhagen to find some sort of shelter. Soon he found someplace, an abandoned building. A large house.

 “Better place than in the damn rain.” Mathias said as he said as he looked at the derelict house with wood planks on the windows and door. He thought it was a good place as any to keep dry and wait for the storm to pass. So, running up the steps till he was under the porch roofing. Smiling he knew he would at least be dry for the time being till the storm subsided.

Or so he thought. The wind started picking up causing the rain to push into the sheltered porch and getting him even more wet. And the rain was coming down harder than before. Sighing in frustration, Mathias looked at the house. He noticed that there were wood planks nailed on the door frame. Shrugging his shouldered Mathias turned around and started pulling the planks from the door till the doorway was cleared and he tried opening the door.

 “SHIT! Locked. Well… Like I haven’t done this a few thousand times in my life.” Mathias said as he rammed himself against the door till the door finally gave in and busted open. Taking out his cellphone and turning on the flashlight on it, he looked around to see not only where he was but to make sure everything was at least structurally good for the time being.

But something about what he saw surprised him. The entire inside the building was surprising in excellent condition. As if the place was till in use. Every was clean and clearly furnished. As he looked around more it seemed who lived her left in a hurry; but why? Walking to the fireplace he smiled. “Jackpot. Got stuff to start a hot fire. Good I can get warm.”

 It didn’t take long for the Dane to get kindling and old news paper into the fire place and he always kept a lighter on him so it wouldn’t be hard to light the kindling and paper. So, as he did so he got the fire going well before he put the first few logs on the fire. He stayed and started to warm up which made him smile. When the fire was all well and strong, he stood up and looked around. He was right, the place looked like it was recently lived in.

As he looked around, he found an oil lamp on the mantel of the fireplace. Picking it up he looked to see if there was any oil in it. Which fortunately for him there was and by the looks of the cloth wick, it like the lamp was in use previously. Taking off the glass container, Mathias lit the wick and started the fire in the lamp and put the glass back on.

 “Now let’s see what we have here.” He said to himself as he grabbed the oil lamp by the handle. He first checked the mantle of fire place for dust; whipping his fingers on the mantel he checked his fingers. There was very little dust which only told him the place was abandoned recently. “Okay, it looks like I have a bit of a mystery on my hands here.”

He started looking around the livingroom area and saw the furniture was a bit turn of the last century in a Victorian style way. Which made little sense to him. “Wouldn’t the family take this stuff with them or sell it off. At the very least have it put up in an estate sale before boarding up the place? That is what I would have done at least.”

 Looking up and down the walls he also saw the whole Victorian vibe in the wallpaper and images. Mostly old painting that were at least museum quality work according to his eyes. Then he looked down on the floor to see nicely wood flooring with exquisite fancy carpets in various places. By his own personal experiences and his knowledge of how things of this finery would cost in current day Euros only told the Dane that the people who lived her last were very well off.

He then tried to recall anyone who was elderly, well to do and had no family he knew of that could have died in the last year in Copenhagen that would at least explain everything he had saw so far. Unfortunately, there was no one on top of his head. Hell, the people he knew who would have nice stuff like in his capital were all still alive and well. And then something in the back of his head told him that something about this place was a bit… off.

 Pushing that feeling to the side, Mathias decided to walk around the rest of the house to see if the power was at least on and if there was some food in the kitchen. As he walked around, he noticed that he couldn’t find a light switch for the life of him. Sighing he just figured this place was made to look like it had no electricity but had the real light switches in places that looked inconspicuous from the rest to the Victorian aesthetic of the place. At least he did have the oil lamp working and a fire in the fireplace going.

Hearing a bell from an old grandfather clock go off in an adjacent room, he walked in to see the time. It was midnight. He didn’t realize it was about an hour to closing time at his favorite bar. Which puzzled him more. He always walked this way to his favorite bar from his place and he could of swore that he never saw this house before.

 “Sigh, I should pay attention more to my own capital city’s surroundings more often. I swear. Oh well. Nice clock though.” He said as he kept looking around.

 As he walked from room to room, he kept seeing this same style of Victorian aesthetic as if the place was stuck in the late 1800s. It was like a blast from the past for the Dane. Even though it was roughly 150 years since that time, he did apricate this place for keeping it real for the time period. Smiling at the thought he kept looking around. While he looked, he imagined what life would have been if he back then if he marred Regina, Titania or Sunifa.

Every possible image he had he had imagined happing in front of him as if it was all real. But something was off. He wasn’t imagining these possible memories as if he was in them in the 1st person, but as if a spectator of what he was seeing. Like something out of Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol. But instead of Christmas Past, Present and Future, these was times never been.

 “You could it had it all when you had a chance you know.” A voice told him, “You could have been with Regina when she was still East Prussia. You two would have had a happy marriage with wonderful children, but you waisted it away with partying and merriment of a bachelor. What a shame.”

 “I… she was with Gilbert at the time wasn’t she. At least in his care. He protected her from anyone who got near her. It wouldn’t been able to happen to later in my life.”

 “But then you did and ended up breaking her heart. She ended going to another man when you couldn’t keep it in your paints.”

 “That is a damn mistake I rather not talk about.” Mathias said in a huff and he turned around and left the room he was in to go into another, which was the house’s conservatory.

 Mathias looked at the room in awe. It was if he was in a magical forest in a fairytale. This put him in a better mood as he looked around. Despite the storm with now thunder and lightning and no other light but that of the oil lamp he was holding, the room full of various flowers and plants had this sort of magic that made him feel hopeful.

 Then the voice spoke again, “Titania would have loved this room. Wouldn’t she?”

 “Yes. She is the personification of Avalon. The kingdom of Fey. A beautiful enchantress.”

 “True but deep down you know she would have used you.”

 “No, she wouldn’t!” he snapped, “She would never hurt me, she loved me!”

 “Or so you say, but why did you brake up with her if you really loved her if she wasn’t going to hurt you down the road later on?”

 “That was a mistake. But…”

 “But what? She would of have betrayed you like any fey would.”

 “NO!!! GOD DAMN IT NO!!! I broke up with her because it wouldn’t have worked between us. I even told her so and she understood.”

 “You are only lying to yourself. You didn’t brake up with her to spare her heart from pain, you did. Just because you were too scared to have to admit you were being used, not by a fairy, but by a woman. And your damn pride as a man wouldn’t allow that to happen. So, you had to protect your damn ego over your heart.”

 “STOP IT!!!! I HAVE HEARD ABOUT ANOUGH FROM YOU!!!” Mathias shouted at the voice as he ran out of the conservatory and into the kitchen.

 He looked around and realized that all the kitchen appliances, or lack thereof, were nothing but classic Victorian style icebox and wood stove and oven. The place was lovely. It reminded him of Sunifa, Norway’s and Iceland oldest little sister. The one he currently loved. Pulling out his cell he looked at his cell’s wallpaper to see a pic of him an her, happy and in love.

 “Sunifa would be able to work miracles in this kitchen with what lack of modern conveniences there are.” The voice said.

 Mathias snarled at the voice, “Shut up!”

 “She is just a child still though. Much to young for the likes of you.”

“Shut up!!!”

 “You will be just a fling of many till she finds her true love or more than likely she is nothing but another notch in your belt….

 “I said shut up!!!” Mathias said as he quickly texted Norway to use magic to get him and Sunifa to his house and pick him up because he was dealing with some dark entity.

 “Or in all reality another notch on your bed post. Tell me Denmark, how many notches on your bed frame till your bed frame falls down to the pits of hell before you realized that you are nothing but a heartbreaker and a user?”

 “SHUT UP!!!” The Dane snapped again giving Norway the GPS coordinates to where he was at and that he and his sister should hurry.

 “Don’t lie to me. You are just fooling yourself with these half truths and lies. You don’t deserve love Denmark. When it comes to love from a good woman, a happy ever after with a wife, kids and a family of your own, you are not worthy of it. You truly don’t deserve to be loved!!!”

 “SHUT UP! SHUT UP!!! SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!” Mathias shouted at the voice as he ran out side throwing the oil lamp in his hands.

 Turning around he looked at the house. Now he understood why the house was the way it was. It was a haunted house, a possessed house of doubts and lies. Shaking his fists, he took the oil lamp and through the lamp back into the house as he shouted, “IF ANYONE IS GOING TO BURN IN HELL IT IS YOU!!!”

As soon as Mathias heard the glass from the oil lamp brake, the house started to catch on fire and burn from the inside out. Falling to his knees in the wet grass below him he started crying in a mix of frustration, fear, guilt and hatred… for himself.
