Why he ginger
Tumblr media
I guess it reads as auburn. I can't say I don't like it
Bruce is very North-Western European (often said to be a mixture of Welsh, English, Norse, with a larger percentage of Scottish and French. Different runs/adaptations will vary but those are the most common ones which he's associated with) That being said it's not farfetched to say he could be brunette or ginger (you could also argue that he could be blonde but out of personal preference I like him with darker hair.)
For this specific redesign i did make him more ginger on purpose. I don't like to use black or grey in my art so i often opt for dark blues, purples, and reds. This is why I gave him a blue suit rather than one that's black or grey and because of his predominately blue palate I wanted to give him more pops of warmer colors. The colors I chose to accent his blues were a chestnut brown for his hair and a golden yellow for pops on his clothing
doing so gave him a split-complementary color palate
Tumblr media
which can be tricky to pull off but are one of my favorite palates to use
I hope that clears it up, thank you so much for the ask <3

Just imagine the gallons of tea Jeeves and Alfred could spill together.
I can’t remember if I’ve said this before but I think that if you make a Batman 1920s AU then you have to take into account that Bertie Wooster often spent time living in New York and Gotham City is just New York Noir and Bruce Wayne would probably cultivate the acquaintance of Bertie Wooster because Bertie is exactly the sort of person Bruce wants people to think he is, so it’s both birds of a feather camouflage and because he wants to observe Bertie for behavioural ideas.
Bertie, ray of sunshine that he is, thinks Bruce is jolly good fun and really quite barmy, but he already has a friend called Barmy and he can’t manage two Barmies so he affectionately dubs him Batty.
Consequently Bruce exists in a state of nagging uncertainty as to whether Bertie is the golden-hearted silly ass he so transparently appears to be, or is in fact one of his villains, knowing who he is and taunting him.

Man sometimes I still think about Alfred's Bandit Anecdote in The Dark Knight (2008).
So, the most straightforward reading of this sequence seems to have been the one Nolan intended, because he is not actually a subtle filmmaker, and the further we got into the series the more heavily he committed to making Alfred a mouthpiece. Old man provides words of wisdom that frame the correct understanding of the situation; you can tell it's meant to be correct because subsequent Joker appearances reinforce its thesis statement.
Intended takeaway: some men (like the Joker) don't have rational motivations, they just 'want to watch the world burn,' and you have to account for that when trying to counter them. Chaos agents, basically unstoppable by reasonable means.
But the thing is. This is not a story that stands up to even mild interrogation. The number of assumptions Nolan wants us to swallow without blinking is kind of stunning.
First of all the obvious timeline questions that arise: the Anglo-Burmese Wars and periods between and leading up to them where this kind of white man's burden 'delivering jewels to local elites In The Burmese Jungle to sway them toward British interests, but getting waylaid by bandits' scenario makes any sense all, happened in the 19th century.
The Burmese resistance in the 1930s was centered on university student protests and that sort of thing; it was reasonably successful in moving Myanmar toward independence by increments, though who knows what would have happened without WWII. But it did not provide anyone with reasons to be hand-carrying huge gemstones through forests.
Even if we assume this was somehow a 20th century event, it has to have been before WWII unless we want to postulate a complete alt-history setting, and since The Dark Knight leans heavily into being a modern 21st century story with like, cell phone networking as a major plot point, this still makes Alfred old as balls. Born no later than 1920, and probably earlier.
But that's whatever; comics time. Batman Begins did some fun stuff (possibly in imitation of Batman (1980)) with making it ambiguous what decade it was supposed to be set in, though the sequels dropped that conceit. And anyway, people can be 90 years old.
So that's basically fine, although good god Wayne hire some more servants, this man should be fully retired already.
More problematic is the unfettered colonialism of it all, the confident proclamation that since this guy's motive wasn't profit, since he didn't keep the jewels, he had no motive. Because 'inconveniencing the Raj and weakening their control over the locality' isn't a Real Person Motive that a real person could have had. During or soon after failed wars to resist colonial subjugation.
Like. Come on??
The place where this story utterly shoots itself in the foot, though, is the clever bit at the end, where Bruce asks how Alfred's military unit solved the 'bandit stealing jewels he didn't even want' problem and Alfred's like: 'we burned the forest to the ground.'
Because this is so punchy! In screenwriting technical terms, it's quite well done. It's useless advice that loops the story back to its themes; obviously Batman can't burn Gotham down to get the Joker. Even in a Batman movie that doesn't like Batman very much, this is still obvious.
But at the same time this totally takes the legs out from under Alfred's words of wisdom about human nature. Because if that bandit 'wanted' to 'watch the world burn' then what his unit did wasn't so bad, right; he was basically asking for it. Burning a forest down with all the inevitable collateral damage and economic and ecological cost, all for the sake of horribly killing a group of people in the name of government revenues was totally okay guys!
It transforms the whole thing into a pretty obvious post facto rationalization of colonial violence. Which makes the Insights Into Human Nature bit real questionable!
But the movie gives absolutely no sign of having noticed this.

Just made the horrible realization that Bruce Wayne is probably younger than me now given the fuck up state of Comic book timelines
but also that there is a very high chance Bruce's parents were murdered after watching the Antonio Bandera's Mask of the Zorro
I'm likely about Bruce's age now (I mean he should be 40-50 years old to have been a dad, but we can't have Bruce Wayne be 47 years old!) and yeah the 1998 Mask of Zorro would be just about the right time frame, they should jump on that while they can, because like... where would you even go to see the Mark of Zorro? (fun fact its unclear in canon which Mark of Zorro it is, the 1920 silent film original, or the 1940 remake) and what child wants to see a black and white old movie?
any ways here's a head fuck for you, when Batman came out in 1939, my grandpa was 14, just the readership age for comics at the time, and this year would be his 100th birthday so thats ageless comic characters for you, also this year marks 10 years till Batman enters the public domain, tick Tok, can't come fast enough!

Day 4: Dressed to Kill
So I interpreted the prompt as more Mafia vibes lol, and so I drew fan art of @fishklok ‘s 1920s AU. (They’re not mafia I don’t think, but the vibes tho). So this is a recreation of that flashback scene from Dethcamp (season 4 ep 7) where Nathan punches Magnus in the face. This AU Nathan looks like Bruce Wayne to me lmao. I love him.

some DC batman rogues gallery redesigns for a TTRPG set in a a sort of retro futuristic 1920's /1940's On the run from some incident in cuba, Young up and comers Joker and Harley Quinn find themselves in Gothom after a whirlwind series of bankheists , shootouts and murders up the southern coast . not beholden to any of the various Gangs and families that rule Gothom they have in fact have made waves by starting a gang war when they killed a number of high profile members of the five families in penguins Iceburg lounge (nominally a neutral ground ) this sudden wanton violence from all corners forces an older Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle out of retirement to bring some sembelence of order to the chaos

Pocket Square
Dick helps Jason get ready for his first gala.
~
When Alfred sends Dick up to check on Jason, it’s all Dick can do not to snap at the older man. Agreeing to be here was one thing, but playing babysitter had never been part of the deal.
“Master Bruce is already at the Museum.” Alfred calls up the stairs after him. “We need to be on our way in fifteen minutes.”
“Alright!” He calls back, dragging his feet to the East Wing. He doesn’t quite manage to keep the bite out of his voice.
It’s the annual Wayne Memorial Fundraiser. An obscenely ostentatious party at the Gotham Natural History Museum. Every year Bruce pours who knows how much money into hosting, and every year, everyone from celebrities, to politicians, to Royalty, stump up for a ticket. Their money goes towards everyone in Gotham who has lost a family member to crime that year, and the rich and fabulous get photoed at the event of the season for their trouble.
Bruce says he hates it as much as Dick does, but clearly not enough to keep hosting the damn thing. This year the theme is 1920s, all Great Gatsby opulence, and totally ignoring the greatest economic downturn to ever hit the country that same decade.
Dick is dressed in a tailcoat. The soot-black jacket cut short at the front, tapering off at the back down towards his knees. Beneath is a white waistcoat, over white shirt and a white bow-tie for good measure. He feels like he’s going to dinner on the Titanic; impending sense of dread and all. But while he’s never been one for all the pomp, circumstance and nonsense that comes with the Wayne lifestyle, even he can admit to feeling pretty sharp in a tailored suit.
Jason’s room is down the same corridor Dick’s old room used to be, and the dull clench Dick feels in his stomach, is the same one he had last time he was down here. Packing his bags to leave… Not that things are as bad these days, as they had been then. But the Manor is hardly, Dick’s favourite hangout spot at the moment. He’ll be glad to get out of here.
He raps on Jason’s door with his knuckle, frowns at the light scuff in his otherwise brilliantly polished shoes. Wonders if he can get away with using his pocket square to buff it out. Jason distracts him before he can get to it.
“I’m not coming!” The twelve year old shouts from behind the old wooden door.
Dick scoffs. “Yeah right, kid. If I have to go, you have to go.” He pauses for a response. “Alfred says we’ve gotta be in the car in ten minutes.”
“I don’t care.” Jason yells back. “I’m not going to the stupid party.”
Dick rolls his eyes. “Yes, you are.”
“No. I’m not.”
Dick did not sign up for this. He might be trying to be more civil with Bruce these days and maybe he was a bit harsh towards Jason when the kid arrived, but he sure as hell isn’t interested in dealing with temper tantrums. It’s way above his pay grade, and his emotional investment if he’s honest. “Whatever, dude.” He says nonchalantly. “Ten minutes! Well, eight now.”
“I said—” There’s a sudden whoosh, as Jason positively rips his door open. “I’m not going!” He stares up at Dick glaring, cheeks flushed and eyes red. He’s dressed in his pyjamas, his hair sticking out all over the place.
“Have you been crying?” Dick asks, incredulously. A little meanly, actually. Smart move, Grayson. So much for that Rob— Nightwing empathy. He slides his foot forward just in time to stop Jason slamming the door in his face. “Sorry.” He adds, more sincere this time. “Are you okay?”
“Like you care.” Jason snaps, savagely. He’s trying to force the door shut in Dick’s face, but Dick doesn’t budge. “Just fuck off,” He growls, giving up. “I’m not coming.” He abandons the door and flops over onto his bed.
Dick stands a little awkwardly in the doorway. Considers his next move. He doesn’t have much interest in this kid if he’s honest. No more than any other child he might meet in the course of his day, at least. He doesn’t wish him ill and yeah, it’s a shame the kid is upset for whatever reason, but it’s not… it’s not his problem. And part of him, the part he’s been trying to tame these last few months, is more than a little pissed off that Bruce isn’t here to deal with this himself. Bruce is the one who adopted the kid. He’s about ready to turn on his heel and head back down to Alfred. Let the older man deal with whatever pre-teen-temper-tantrum this is. But then he hears what is undeniably a choked-off sob from the bed.
“You uh… you wanna talk about it?” Dick asks, hands in his pockets as he slowly heads to the bed.
“Nope.” Jason pops the p. Doesn’t look up from where he’s face-planted on the covers.
“You sure? Maybe I can help.”
Jason snorts at that. “Like you give a shit.”
Dick can’t really argue with that, he’s never been a very good liar. Instead he says “Maybe not, but it’s gotta be better than,” he gestures vaguely at Jason’s back. “All this.”
Jason turns his head to look at where Dick is now standing at the end of the bed. “I’m not going.” He says again. He sounds utterly miserable.
“You have to.” Dick shrugs.
“Why?”
“Because Bruce said so.”
“Since when do you do what Bruce says?”
The comment hits a little too close to home and for a moment Dick’s temper flares.
Jason must see it cross his face. “Sorry.” He says quickly, and he looks genuinely sorry. “I just…” he sits up on the edge of the bed, wrings his hands. “Sorry.”
Dick sighs. “It’s okay.” He says. Even though it doesn’t feel it. “But we really have to go. Alfred will kill us if we’re late.
Jason bites his lip at that, looks like he might start crying again. “Dick, I— I can’t...” He says quietly, eyes on his hands.
“Why not?”
Jason looks Dick up and down, gestures. “Look at you.” He says. “And Bruce too, will look so, so smart and— and—” he screws his eyes shut, “and I’m just going to look like some Crime Alley kid he dragged off the street. Some fucking charity case and he said Michelle Obama is going to be there, Dick and I can’t even get my shirt to button up.”
“Your shirt?” Dick asks, because that’s a lot of information and he needs to work up to the big stuff. “Why can’t you button up your shirt?”
“Because they’re not buttons!” Jason wails, miserably. “They’re these funny little metal things and I’m just too stupid and too poor to—”
“Hey.” Dick says firmly, placing his hands on Jason’s shoulders. “Hey, enough of that.” He waits as Jason takes some calming breaths. “You’re not stupid. And you’re not too poor either. You’re Bruce Wayne’s kid now. That makes you richer than Michelle Obama.”
Jason doesn’t say anything to that, just sniffles.
“Let’s take a look at this shirt.” Dick suggests, stepping back from the twelve year old. “Where is it?”
Jason shuffles over to the closet and passes Dick the shirt. Then he rummages in his pyjama pocket. Pulls out a handful of little silver studs.
“He couldn’t have just got you a regular shirt?” Dick mutters.
“I wanted to be like him.” Jason says, so quietly Dick almost doesn’t catch it. The sentiment is painfully familiar.
“Why didn’t you ask Alfred to help you?”
“Alfred cooks all of my meals and helps me with my homework, and cleans my room and helps me if I’m injured on patrol. I can’t ask him to help me get dressed as well.” Jason says miserably.
Dick frowns at the shirt in his hand, creased from lying in a pile on the floor. He lets out a sigh. “I’ll help you.” He says, shaking out the shirt. “You’re not stupid, Jason. Bruce is stupid. He forgets not everyone grew up in Downton Abbey.”
For the briefest of moments, Jason looks hopeful. Then it descends into confusion. “What’s Downton Abbey?”
Dick helps Jason with his suit. He’s not surprised the kid was stressed. The stud buttons are fiddly little beasts, and it takes more than a few attempts at each one before the shirt is properly done up. It has double cuffs too and Jason had never even heard of cufflinks.
The twelve year old’s mood slowly improves as he puts on each part of the suit, and by the time Dick is showing him how to do his bow tie, he’s almost grinning.
“Okay,” Dick says, manoeuvring Jason in front of the mirror. “Step one. This end longer than the other.” And he adjusts the tie slightly around Jason’s neck. “This loops over here, then pull this across. Loop that side back over the top and— pull it through… et voila!”
Jason beams at Dick’s reflection, his eyes are wide. “Thanks.” He says, slightly breathlessly. He turns slightly, to look at himself over his shoulder. “I… I look like Bruce.” He says, puffing his chest slightly.
Dick can’t help but laugh at that. He remembers doing exactly the same thing before his first gala. For all that Batman was impressive, there was something about just Bruce that was special too. In a suit he looked somewhere between James Bond and the President and a school Principal. Someone who was smart and important and capable. Who always seemed calm and and in control, when so much of Dick’s life had been chaos after his parents died. In the early days, it was what used to make Dick feel safe. Before he knew the truth about presidents and Bond and Bruce. Unreliable, controlling and secretive.
Jason will learn for himself one day, Dick thinks, a little grimly. Though maybe it won’t be so bad for him, if Dick is there to ease him through—
The thought catches Dick off guard and he shakes his head a little.
“One last touch.” He says, to Jason. “We really need to brush your hair.” And he ruffles Jason’s curls with his hand.
Fifteen minutes later, they’re stood in front of Bruce’s 1920s vintage Rolls Royce. Alfred’s irritation at their tardiness seemingly alleviated by the skip in Jason’s step. He insists on snapping a photo of the two of them.
“Can I have a copy?” Jason asks, before Alfred has even lowered the camera. “I mean um…” He looks up at Dick. “If that’s okay with you?”
The question takes Dick by surprise, the answer even more so. “Of course.” He says to Jason, putting an arm around the younger boy’s shoulder. “Alfred, I’ll have a copy too.”

WIP Tag Game!
tagged by @dear-massacre ! AND @whimsicalmeerkat! WHIL i was writing my post lolol
This is sorta smth i track regularly? but i have it all sorted by word count akdgjkajdg it's part of my progress tracker server w some friends. Adding words is the easiest way to track 'working on a project' so that's what i do! I also have a (separate) doc in my drive folder that tracks just, general prompts, so when i have ideas i slap them in there.
Current (Teen Wolf) WIPs:
TriReign: Shepherd, Lamb, Wolf: small outline, chapters 1-4 complete, 5 wip - 16,575 - Sterek, Medieval Fantasy, Arranged Marriage, Omegaverse, Political Drama, Sex and Politics, Duty and Honor and Subterfuge, etc. my current current current WIP. Baseball AU: Collab? outline - 331. MOSTLY this is just. a Roster and some thoughts about a general plot concept. I want to illustrate this but i can't do a comic. It's also a Sterek concept. FratBoi Stiles x RA!Derek: 52 - this is just straight up a PWP with the prompt borrowed from a TWT moot that ive been meaning to work on for ages and just haven't yet. Higher Education 2: 2,821 Sciles, trans!Stiles, post-canon college AU. Also PWP, but also my gross unhygenic sloppy AU kinda. it's just. its grossnasty wet n sloppy porn. i wanted to finish this and then write a Third part for Sciles week this year and i didn't. whoops There's a Werewolf Tradition for That: 72 - Sterek didn't know they were dating AU. Alive!Hales but Werewolves are still a secret. Stiles and Derek are good friends and roommates, they're both idiots pining for each other, and out of the blue Derek's Mom sends them a formal invitation to celebrate their engagement. Stiles doesn't even know Derek's a werewolf. total ROMCOM, kinda inspired by My Big Fat Greek Wedding, but only in Vibes. Lone Wolf Wild West AU: Chapters 1, 2 posted, not outline - 3,670. Sterek, Lone Ranger!Derek, son of the sheriff Stiles. Mystery, adventure, romance. I miss cowboy...
Somewhere in here I will also put my Collabang fic and any other events i sign up for, because I'm gonna have to pause my major WIPs to work on them lol
1920's Mafia AU: Outline only - 1313 - Stiles is a city detective, the sheriff is the Police Commissioner, this takes place in Los Angeles. There are tunnels running all through the city, albeit underneath (real). There's been an uptick in gang activity lately. Stiles secretly 'runs' by which i mean, owns and protect, but isn't involved in Actually Running, an underground speakeasy in the heart of the city. He doesn't let any gangs runs their trouble on his turf. Until one day, a Hale is shot by an Argent right outside his doors. Sterek SuperBat ComicCon MeetCute: WIP One Shot - 1,049 Inspired by MultiE's art. nerd x nerd solidarity Sciles Ancient Greece AU: 192 - this is a friggin poem and is probably gonna stay a poem. New! Sex For Work: Parts 1, 2, 3, 4 - 23,228. Part 5? Sterek BDSM CEO x Personal Assistant AU. Originally intended to be kinky prompt fill series but Caught Plot. I meant to rewrite it last month to convert it into a standalone story, but uhhhh didn't. I DID do reformatting though. I just need to get writing on it again, but i tend to be kinda singleminded.
Other Fandom WIPs:
Big Blue Boyscout: 47 - Superman x Nightwing, xenophilia fic. "He's Big and Blue in more ways than one..." Bruce Wayne Visits Smallville: 685 - I got distracted while bingeing smallville for the first time and haven't gone back, but this was just supposed to be a one shot but my outline grew legs DP/YJ Crossover: 220 - this is more of a concept than a real specific fic, but i REALLY like comparing danny phantom to specifically the young justice animated series, and i wanted to try and come up with a cohesive clone comparison plot, rather than just making it a lil joke. Maybe it'll be Danny x Conner because himbo tee shirt conner is my baby boy baby boy Not So Blushing, Not So Virgin: 40 - SuperBat role reversal where everyone expects clark to be this sweet inexperienced things and then he absolutely blows bruce's back out.
Hiatus Projects:
Universal Law of Gravitation: Chapter 1 WIP, significant outline - 3,080 - Sterek Lifetime fic. I wrote out this huge long super comprehensive timeline and got super caught up in it. It's supposed to be about how, despite their best efforts, Stiles and Derek just can't stay apart, so there are a ton of messy breakups and fights in between. I just never put together an actual proper Plot, so when i started writing it, i got SUPER bored. It has a playlist! and i made a bunch of pseudo-science chapter titles hehe A Fever You Can't Sweat Out: Chapter 1 posted, Chapter 2 WIP, significant outline - 9,911 - Sterek, Marrish, Scallison, post-canon AU, surprise mpreg! Similarly to ULG, i wrote out a huge big timeline and outline and got super nitty gritty into the details, but literally Chapter One i went Off Track and it just killed my motivation. It's HUGELY ensemble, and i picked out jobs and hobbies for like 12 people to all live in a big ol estate together. It also suffered from "world building but no plot", but i DID try to make a plot, it just. wasn't good haha. The entire concept is, Lydia gets pregnant which makes Allison baby crazy so she gets pregnant and Stiles wants a baby so, so bad, but he's dating dating/married to Derek and therefore would have to adopt or something, but he wants it so bad he magics himself up a contraception.
Prompts!
Derek is moody, Stiles teases him about the fact he like, never smiles. Kisses him on a whim to get a rise out of him. And then proceeds to have a existential crisis after because "oh shit did he just kiss DEREK".
Werewolf!Stiles’ Pavlovian Pleasure Response to Scott’s Click (iykwim)
Stiles x Jeep crack smut oneshot
Post Nogi stiles is having trouble feeling like himself again. he feels a sharp disconnect with his Self that he didn't used to have, like he's lost touch with his humanity. He needs someone to remind him how it feels to be human.
unspecified/platonic - In this kind of weather, it makes more sense to stay inside. Or rather, stay inside somewhere else. Stiles sets up shop in a bookstore's cafe to while away the time warm espresso, a good book, and his own company. Until Someone/Something Else comes knocking.
Supernatural Boarding school (circa 2005-2009 role-play forum vibes)
Bastard Prince Jackson and Freedom Fighter Stiles (see doc)
Stiles’ mythology professor bites off more than either can chew - The Great Beacon Hills Custody Battle
“Teenage Dirtbag” Loser!Stiles Sterek fic
all of my prompts literally only exist in a single document where i put Ideas i like adkgjakjg everything in wips has a dedicated doc, but most of them dont have much written yet.
There's also 1 absent prompt here that im now saving for the collabang so ive omitted it from my counts because its technically a wordcount of 0 until i get to start working w my artist (:
no pressure tags! @renmackree @lavender-lotion @like-lazarus @geekmom13 @endwersed

My take on Blue Beetle (Ted Kord):
Ted Kord is known as the Canadian Bruce Wayne. Well, maybe not explicitly by that nickname, but that is the type of character he shall be. He's less dark than Bruce, but you know what I mean, I hope.
Ted Kord is the head of famed manufacturing company Kord Industries. Known around the world for it's research skills and for it's work in the development of new technology, everybody knows the Kord family. They're like the Rogers family, except without a monopoly on telecommunications. But based on the behavior of CEO Ted Kord, you may not always know that they're such a successful company.
Ted was always a shy boy. Early in his life, people around him began to notice just now precocious the boy was. Shy, lonely but incredibly creative and intelligent, ted was head and shoulders above his peers when it came to academics. But he never excelled socially. Ted has almost never had any friends, and his father was a cold, distant rich miser. With his mother having died when he was very young, Ted never really had anyone who cared for him in his life.
To cope with this loneliness and isolation, Ted loved to spend time alone reading. Ted fell in love with old fantasy and adventure stories, as well as with superheroes and superhero comics. Specifically, Ted loved the semi-fictional adventures of The Blue Beetle, otherwise known as archaeologist Dan Garrett. (The stories were semi-fictional because Garrett was a real archaeologist and adventurer in the 1920s and 30s, but he never had a magic scarab or secret identity as the Blue Beetle).
For Ted, these stories were an escape from his lonely life at home. They helped him deal with his cold home life and lack of friends. Ted began to dream of one day becoming a real hero, just like the Blue Beetle he fell in love with.
As Ted aged, he began to feel disillusioned by his family's work. He used to hang out with his dad's assistants and with the factory staff. He got to see how hard their lives were, and how much of their problems could be traced back to his dad. His dad hoarded money, was rude to his workers, refused to let them unionize or get raises, etc. Eventually, something explosive was going to happen. And something explosive did indeed happen.
When ted was around 20 or so, the factory workers went on strike. Around the same time, a bunch of the key organizers of the strike began to go missing. Suspicious, ted began investigating. And what he found really shocked him. He found out that his father was hiring someone to sabotage the strikes by injuring the strike organizers. Outraged, Ted knew he had to do something. But what? And then it hit him: this was his chance. He now had a chance to become a hero, like his idol as a child.
So ted got to work designing a costume and an arsenal of weapons to help take the attack to the saboteur. And just like that, The Blue Beetle was born! He took out the saboteur and helped bring his father to justice! And now Ted Kord lives two lives. Sometimes he's Ted Kord, CEO of Kord Industries, dedicated to making amends for his father's actions. While other times he's the Blue Beetle, one of Canada's most famous Superheroes!
The Blue Beetle was one of the founders of the Justice League of Canada. Naturally so, since he's one of the most famous heroes Canada has. People even know of the Blue Beetle in America, which is shocking considering how often americans forget Canada exists. He was a natural choice to help found the team.
PS: If you're waiting for Booster Gold, I can try and do my take on him too. I'm not sure if I want both of these characters to be introverts who open up around each other (like having Booster Gold really be very shy and his persona is a bit act), or if I want Booster to be more extroverted and Ted more introverted, making them an odd couple kind of deal. I'm leaning towards the first one, but both would work I suppose.
