Bucky rinsed as much mud off of himself as he could while standing in the backyard, then he stripped on the back porch before he entered the house.
When he saw Sarah standing in the kitchen laughing at his predicament and enjoying the view, he threw his wet clothes on top of the washer, chased her up the stairs, caught her on the landing, and pulled her into the bathroom.
Afterwards, she went through his sopping wet clothes and fished out his wallet, keys, a small notebook and pencil, a smooth river stone with an adrinka carved on it, and a piece of paper, folded several times.
She laid everything out on a towel on the kitchen counter, and unfolded the piece of paper, gently smoothing it out to dry.
It was something printed. A receipt? A list?
A poem.
And did you get what you wanted from this life, even so?
I did.
And what did you want?
To call myself beloved, to feel myself
beloved on the earth.
“Late Fragment” — Raymond Carver, 1988

I never would’ve thought I’d see a favoured poem featured anywhere in the MCU, yet there it was in episode 4, “Beloved”, of Secret Invasion.
As a result, this happened.
Now, back to my not-so-fluffy WIP I go.

taylor swift wrote all the young dudes, no one believed it was really her, and then she wrote the great war to prove them wrong.
#i’m not saying taylor swift did absolutely 100% for sure write atyd#but i do think its very possible#especially considering that when atyd was published she was in her era of hiding from the media and from everyone#and before you say “taylor swift doesn’t know enough british slang to have written atyd”#have we forgotten joe?? her LONDON boy?? she literally lived with a brit#i’m sure he would’ve been more than happy to help her out with some words#after all#he loved her#and not to mention#taylor swift was born in 1989#mskingbean89#has a birthday on september 4#9+4=13#13 is taylor swifts lucky number#in case you forgot#or didn’t know#and we know taylor has the ability to write fast while also writing well#as proven by folklore and evermore#she was betrayed by one of her best friends#and someone she trusted sold her music#her life’s work#to someone she hated#she definitely would have understood the feelings of loneliness and betrayal remus experiences after lily and james’ death#we know that writers like to explore their own feelings and traumas in their works#in chapter 175 (when remus is dealing with his friends’ betrayal) mskingbean89 says that she wrote it immediately after chapter 1#she was definitely eager to get to the part where she could get really into her feelings#and need i mention cardigan?#so yeah#im not saying taylor swift wrote it but she very well could have

Rating: E (violence & sex) Pairing: Miya Atsumu/Sakusa Kiyoomi Word count: 178,379 (17 chapters) Summary (copied from fic): Miya Atsumu’s been sitting pretty as the top ranked Bounty Hunter in the city for years, but staunch rival Sakusa Kiyoomi has been steadily catching up to him as of late, making Atsumu’s life difficult in more ways than one. With the city entering a state of turmoil, and a mastermind hellbent on wiping out the whole guild of Hunters, they’ll have to set aside their differences and work together if they want to make it out alive. But that’s easier said than done, when neither wants to be the first to give ground. Other notes: y'all this is insanely good. like make you wanna punch a wall good. the characterization is phenomenal and the world incredibly immersive. do take the violence warnings seriously if you're not a fan of described death and heavy injury.

Fic writer asks:
9 and 10 ✨
(Also do both writing and asks 🤭😌)
hehe thank you my friend🩷 (and yes I’ll write tonight too I’m being so brave doing two activities in one night, please clap😌)
9.) start to finish, how long did it take you to write the last fic you posted?
It took me 6 days to write Call Me Serious Trouble!! I started on March 20th and finished March 27th (there were two days where I didn’t write anything, I promise I can do math). I don’t know how long I was working on it each day because I weirdly enough do not keep track of how many minutes/hours I write for each day? This feels like a mistake on my part I definitely should’ve included a time spent column on my spreadsheet!!
10.) what is the longest amount of time you’ve let a draft rest before you finished it?
Babe I’ll let my drafts rest forever for all eternity if I’m not careful 😭😭😭 of the fics that I’ve actually Finished and Published… I stopped writing Little Taste of Heaven for almost a month before I started working on it again and actually powered through and finished it.
But do not even look at some of my unfinished drafts that have been sitting, resting, untouched for two years do nOT look at them!! They’re in hibernation!! They’re marinating!! Give them time!!
#ask game#I can’t tell you how long I worked on call me serious trouble each day but I can tell you how many words I wrote for it each day!!#and I can tell you my favorite line for each day!! because I keep track of those sorts of things for no reason other than my own amusement#anyway it was 590 - 1813 - 175 - 664 - 129 - 981 if y’all were curious

grad day today was an absolute success and despite it being over, i really don't wanna take my makeup or outfit off or tie my hair back for bed bc it all looks so perfect 🥲 like damn my makeup artist and hairstylist went OFF today and made me look amazing (so good that i took approximately 34567890 selfies lol). honestly, i wanna get dressed up, get a cute hairstyle, and do some nice makeup more often. i've never done this much glam-type stuff before and it was a legit confidence boost. this was truly a great ending to my exhausting ass college experience, cliche but this one day made it all worth finishing 💕
#personal#internally crying of happiness that school is over azsdfghjkfgh#words#i refuse to cry tonight bc my makeup cost like $175 lmao#but today was fantastic#and i wanna have more great days like this 😊

Rowling isn't denying holocaust. She just pointed out that burning of transgender health books is a lie as that form of cosmetic surgery didn't exist. But of course you knew that already, didn't you?
I was thinking I'd probably see one of you! You're wrong :) Let's review the history a bit, shall we?
In this case, what we're talking about is the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft, or in English, The Institute of Sexology. This Institute was founded and headed by a gay Jewish sexologist named Magnus Hirschfeld. It was founded in July of 1919 as the first sexology research clinic in the world, and was run as a private, non-profit clinic. Hirschfeld and the researchers who worked there would give out consultations, medical advice, and even treatments for free to their poorer clientele, as well as give thousands of lectures and build a unique library full of books on gender, sexuality, and eroticism. Of course, being a gay man, Hirschfeld focused a lot on the gay community and proving that homosexuality was natural and could not be "cured".
Hirschfeld was unique in his time because he believed that nobody's gender was either one or the other. Rather, he contended that everyone is a mixture of both male and female, with every individual having their own unique mix of traits.
This leads into the Institute's work with transgender patients. Hirschfeld was actually the one to coin the term "transsexual" in 1923, though this word didn't become popular phrasing until 30 years later when Harry Benjamin began expanding his research (I'll just be shortening it to trans for this brief overview.) For the Institute, their revolutionary work with gay men eventually began to attract other members of the LGBTA+, including of course trans people.
Contrary to what Anon says, sex reassignment surgery was first tested in 1912. It'd already being used on humans throughout Europe during the 1920's by the time a doctor at the Institute named Ludwig Levy-Lenz began performing it on patients in 1931. Hirschfeld was at first opposed, but he came around quickly because it lowered the rate of suicide among their trans patients. Not only was reassignment performed at the Institute, but both facial feminization and facial masculization surgery were also done.
The Institute employed some of these patients, gave them therapy to help with other issues, even gave some of the mentioned surgeries for free to this who could not afford it! They spoke out on their behalf to the public, even getting Berlin police to help them create "transvestite passes" to allow people to dress however they wanted without the threat of being arrested. They worked together to fight the law, including trying to strike down Paragraph 175, which made it illegal to be homosexual. The picture below is from their holiday party, Magnus Hirschfeld being the gentleman on the right with the fabulous mustache. Many of the other people in this photo are transgender.
[Image ID: A black and white photo of a group of people. Some are smiling at the camera, others have serious expressions. Either way, they all seem to be happy. On the right side, an older gentleman in glasses- Magnus Hirschfeld- is sitting. He has short hair and a bushy mustache. He is resting one hand on the shoulder of the person in front of him. His other hand is being held by a person to his left. Another person to his right is holding his shoulder.]
There was always push back against the Institute, especially from conservatives who saw all of this as a bad thing. But conservatism can't stop progress without destroying it. They weren't willing to go that far for a good while. It all ended in March of 1933, when a new Chancellor was elected. The Nazis did not like homosexuals for several reasons. Chief among them, we break the boundaries of "normal" society. Shortly after the election, on May 6th, the book burnings began. The Jewish, gay, and obviously liberal Magnus Hirschfeld and his library of boundary-breaking literature was one of the very first targets. Thankfully, Hirschfeld was spared by virtue of being in Paris at the time (he would die in 1935, before the Nazis were able to invade France). His library wasn't so lucky.
This famous picture of the book burnings was taken after the Institute of Sexology had been raided. That's their books. Literature on so much about sexuality, eroticism, and gender, yes including their new work on trans people. This is the trans community's Alexandria. We're incredibly lucky that enough of it survived for Harry Benjamin and everyone who came after him was able to build on the Institute's work.
[Image ID: A black and white photo of the May Nazi book burning of the Institute of Sexology's library. A soldier, back facing the camera, is throwing a stack of books into the fire. In the background of the right side, a crowd is watching.]
As the Holocaust went on, the homosexuals of Germany became a targeted group. This did include transgender people, no matter what you say. To deny this reality is Holocaust denial. JK Rowling and everyone else who tries to pretend like this isn't reality is participating in that evil. You're agreeing with the Nazis.
But of course, you knew that already, didn't you?
Edit: Added image IDs. I apologize to those using screen readers for forgetting them. Please reblog this version instead.
#transgender#trans history#transsexual#transphobia#Magnus Hirschfeld#holocaust#holocaust denial#book burning#j.k. rowling#jk rowling#just in case you missed what i mean by all this: go fuck yourself anon :)#trans people have always existed#and we will always exist#if you really wanna pick a fight with me over well-documented history then you better bring in some sources to back your shit#queer history#queer#lgbt+#lgbta+#lgbt#lgbt history#edit: i finally got around to those damn image IDs. i am so very sorry for totally forgetting that's my bimbo moment of the month#also real quick i thought about adding an image of the actual building but the only one i can find has a Nazi parade in front of it#it was taken the day of the book burning raid and honestly if i were to include it then i'd add it to the first few paragraphs#and i think the story's better told when you uphold the hope Magnus Hirschfeld and all the researchers he worked with had#also keeps being brought up: yes Hirschfeld was a eugenicist. it was a popular belief set that was only discredited after WW2#Hirschfeld died in 1935. he literally didn't live long enough to see science turn against those beliefs and practices#considering how he changed his mind on transitions i like to think he would've changed his mind on eugenics too if he'd lived

ok so like 2 weeks before i started dating my gf, back in january, i started a word document with the poems i was writing about her and when i was in my head about asking her to date me i wrote my thoughts there like a diary and so ever since then whenever i write a poem about her or when i'm thinking about how much i love her and feel the need to express it somewhere i write there. after like 2 months of doing this i thought to myself wait, i should totally make a little book and give this to her for our one year anniversary. and so that is the plan and i think she's gonna love it.
however... It's at 57 pages and 11k words as of now. and we'll only be 4 months into dating in like 3 days, so if i continue writing at the same pace that i'm currently doing it's probably gonna triple the length lol. is that too much? like it would be 175 pages long nfaodfpsd i don't want her to have to read through an actual entire book long of mediocre poems and nonsensical rambling.
i could gift it to her at our 6 months anniversary but i think it's still a little early for something like that...
anyway, i think i'll still gift it to her at our one year. but yeah, maybe when i reread the whole thing through in like 8 months i'll cut some passages out dasfdlnj
#i want to learn how to make a book for this fdadp i can't draw for shit but maybe i can think of something for the cover too#also obviously she has no idea about any of this#she knows that i write poems about her and every month anniversary or other special date like valentines or birthdays i give one to her#on a little handmade card that i put perfume and stickers on too sfdaf i try to be sweet#and she loves them a lot even though i am not lying when i say they are mediocre#but she does not know i write about her and us outside of poems#nor does she know just how many poems i've written about her (as of now 16 - 6 of which she's read)...#so maybe going BAM here's 175 pages worth of words#would be a little intimidating...#my post

if i could bring your attention for a second to amal ashour's campaign @amalashuor please. this is vetted #175 on spreadsheet
ive posted about her before, amal is a mother of a young daughter who was only 9 months old when the war began. her and her husband and daughter have lost everything and been displaced many times and now struggle to afford daily necessities. the funds from this campaign have been helping them survive since they have no other income and prices are extremely high in gaza.
unfortunately theyve just been displaced again when the genocidal israeli army ordered them to evacuate deir al-balah and go west, towards the sea. every time that people are displaced in gaza it is extremely expensive and taxing. transportation and fuel prices are high, and because the idf gives little warning and constantly changes "safe zones," people often are forced to leave behind their tents. read amals post where she explains everything theyve been through and how much its cost them in her own words.
its such a scary situation in gaza right now. so many people being forced to leave again to even smaller areas with nowhere to go. thankfully amal and her family have survived so far but she's had to spend a lot of the money from the campaign on these expenses. shes raised the goal of this campaign to reflect this.
amal sent me these messages earlier today... people are trapped in an actual living hell right now. its really far beyond what we can comprehend from the outside.
please keep participating in this campaign and help amal reach her new goal. even small donations add up and make a difference. if you cant donate, share this with someone who can. this is really important
€30,825 raised of €50,000

Looking through the upcoming Comiket publications to see what is worthwhile, and guys:
"A Story of How I Kept Legally Beating Ministry of Finance Bureaucrats for Two Years Until They Spilled the Conditions for Legal Uncensored Content, Which I Then Turned into a Doujinshi"
The riveting 94 page doujinshi covers:
I filed a review request and spent two years legally disputing with the Ministry of Finance, ultimately succeeding in having the criteria for sexual expression import regulations and statistics of crackdowns since 2003 disclosed. Since the disclosed documents included the conditions for legal uncensored content, this book publishes the full text of the disclosed contents. Based on this content, the book examines: -What exactly was disclosed? -How can the disclosed content be specifically utilized? -Can the newly disclosed Ministry of Finance's criteria also apply to Penal Code Article 175, which the police enforce? This is a critical review book (for all ages) that challenges the enforcement of sexual expression regulations in Japan, including Penal Code Article 175.
I love you comiket so much.
(Also TIL that the black censorship bars used to redact info in confidential documents is called "nori-ben"/のり弁 aka seaweed bento, which is a very cute visual - it is like seaweed draped over the words!)
#If this was - as some occasionally are - manga-cized that would be truly amazing but alas...#comiket 104

to my moots/lovely lurkers: if you've been following me for a bit then you may remember my first post i made for amal and her family in late june.
in a short span of time- amal has become a dear friend of mine and her campaign has been able to receive a significant amount of traction thanks to everyone who has continued to share her messages with the world. i'm writing you all today to share amal's latest message to me:
several friends of mine have heard the same sentiment shared by other ghazzans: the rafah crossing may reopen very soon
the targeted attacks within the gaza strip are ramping up- with several massacres being executed by the israeli army in one day. this is a deliberate tactic used to conceal the true extent of their war crimes. families like amal are scrambling to raise enough funds to be able to cross into egypt. with this latest revelation of the border reopening- the time to act has never been more crucial.
so far, amal's family has raised ~44% of their goal (€13,288/€30,000)
please share her campaign as much as possible + donate if you can so they may all get to safety
amal was my inspiration to launch the art campaign boost. because of her, several families have been able to gain more visibility on this platform. please continue to give them all your undivided attention/support.
amal's message:
Hello Can I tell you all the words in my heart? I sent you back because I really need you Here in Gaza, news is spreading that the Rafah crossing will return to work at the end of this month But I did not raise enough money to leave Gaza Please tell the whole world to help me so that the campaign reaches its goal before the end of the month so that I and my family can get out of this extreme danger. Please do everything you can for me💔💔
